I feel like not enough people are highlighting the fact that not only did James Somerton monetize his apology video (!!) but he claims he's going to give all the money he makes to Hbomberguy's team to distribute which like, if he does it great?? BUT ALSO this suggests that a) he has no idea who he's plagiarized from or how many there are and b) he is completely unwilling to work it out!!!!! So he's just going to piggyback off of all Harry's work!!!!!!! JAMES!!!!!!!!

and then he also says, or maybe I'll donate it charity, because this way he has an out when he doesn't actually give any money to anybody.

hey friends! it's come to my attention that into the aurora is being fully plagiarized and posted on wattpad by user longbottcm - you can see here that they have so far posted 17 chapters and are clearly claiming it as their own original work. i have already messaged them and reported work for a dcma takedown notice as this is blatant plagiarism and copyright infringement.

i'd really appreciate if you would also report their posting of aurora, and if you see any other reposts that don't seem like me, please let me know! as always, i only post on tumblr and ao3 as honeyhotteoks and have no intention of ever cross-posting on wattpad because their interface is literal trash lol

as you can imagine, this is really disappointing and irritating. i did not find a longbottcm on twitter or tumblr to message, but if that person is following me here, please know that plagiarizing someone's work even when it's fanfiction is a dick move. i would encourage you to actually try to write something creatively for yourself instead of stealing someone else's work word for word and pretending it's yours. it's not only shitty, it's super sad. please remember that if you get a single compliment or kudos on the work.... they're still not complimenting you, they're still complimenting me because you didn't actually do anything meaningful. anyways i'm sure you're like 14, but this goes for any plagiarizer ever and if you steal my work i will literally file legal dcma takedowns against you.

Nie Mingjue's Age

Briefly popping back into Da-ge posting hours (this will not be long so no cut lolsob) to scream about this line from chapter 49: 

当年，在聂明玦只有十几岁，清河聂氏的家主还是他父亲的时候，有人上贡给温若寒一把宝刀。温若寒高兴了几天，问身边客卿，你们觉得我这把刀怎么样？

Which I would translate as:

"Back in the day, when Nie Mingjue was still a young teenager, and the family head of the Qinghe Nie sect had still been his father, someone had given Wen Ruohan a treasured saber as a gift. Wen Ruohan was happy for a few days, and asked the guest beside him "what do you all think of this saber of mine?"

Here’s that line from the ExR translation: 

“Back then, when Nie MingJue was only a teenager and the leader of the QingheNie Sect was his father, someone gifted Wen RuoHan a rare saber. Wen RuoHan was pleased for quite a couple of days. He had asked the guest cultivators—what do you think of this saber of mine?”

That same line from the official translation (which happens to be on two different pages, forgive me lmao): 

The thing I want to scream about here is the phrasing of Nie Mingjue’s age in the Chinese, which says “只有十几岁” “only shijisui.” 十几岁 does refer to a very specific and kind of narrow age range, however it’s not a phrase that actually has a good English equivalent because it refers to the ages of 10-15, which in English is both pre-teen and teen wooo. BUT, the most common usage and definition of 十几岁 in Chinese is older than ten and younger than fifteen which. Means that at best, according to this line, Nie Mingjue was no older than a high school freshman when his dad died and could’ve been anywhere from finishing elementary school to a whole middle schooler!

(The best English equivalent of this sort of phrasing I can think of would be like, “early 20s” which in Chinese is the parallel 二十几岁 “ershijisui.”)

you can tell when i'm a bit stressed and overwhelmed and mentally quite tired because suddenly i just reread five kj charles books back to back in the space of two days instead of doing literally anything else i was supposed to be doing

i realised why this is getting me so badly btw it's because. i made a post a while ago saying that last life was painful as fuck for me to think about but it was manageable because etho doesnt get too hard into the roleplay and just sort of chills and laughs and doesnt show much signs of distress when bdubs is very clearly manipulating and dragging him into this toxic ass relationship. okay well now imagine me making that post and ethoslab seeing that and going im gonna fucking kill this guy
