I don’t know how y’all are feeling, but I’m so grossed out by streamers right now
So I’m going to give you some smaller youtube creators to watch who are so fun, and not owned by a studio that is refusing to pay their workers.
Watcher Media - Do you like ghost hunting, puppets, and food? These three former Buzzfeed employees started their own video company and they are a true delight. Shane, Stephen and the Bergooz talk about ghosts, history, food, and murder. Worth a watch!
Tasting History - Max Miller, former Disney employee, started a food history podcast that teaches you about what people ate in ye olde times, and why. You can tell how passionate he is about his subject matter. A very chill time.
Mythical Kitchen - Do you like gremlins and food and gremlins who make food? That’s basically Mythical Kitchen. It is Good Mythical Morning’s bizarre, anxious kid sibling who may have sniffed bath salts last night, but has the best of intentions. If Nicole didn’t constantly remind him that it would kill him, I’m pretty sure Josh would eat wood glue.
Disney Dan - If you’re a Disney human, Disney Dan is a great way to scratch that itch. He does deep dives into park costumes and touring show costumes, including some deeply terrifying showings from the dawn of Disneyland. He’s so much fun. He has a great laugh, and you can tell he’s having such a good time.
Defunctland - Short form documentaries about all sorts of both well-known, and very little known subjects in pop culture. He does such compelling work. I cannot recommend this channel enough.
Ask a Mortician - Do you think about dying, and the ethics of the death industry? Get onboard with the Order of the Good Death. There is something really interesting and refreshing about death positivity, or, being well informed about the industry that your family will invariably have to deal with once you die. Being unafraid to tackle the idea that we all gotta go sometime, and we can make good choices about what happens to our bodies when that happens.
Be Kind, Rewind - A super solid Hollywood history channel, tackling a lot of topics pertaining to women in the industry.
Fundie Fridays - I knew nothing about fundamentalist religion before I started watching this channel. Jenn and James are so informative, and they do their best to show empathy to those who truly need it amongst subjects that are truly horrifying sometimes. TW for information about sexual abuse and other disturbing subjects, but so informative and so important to know.
Food Wishes - Join Chef John as he cooks up delicious dishes. So chill. Such good vibes.
Demystifying Chinese Cooking - Traditional Chinese food is an entire world all it’s own, and you should know about it!
Girl with the Dogs - Canadian Animal Groomer who tells you all about the breeds she grooms, and also how to handle difficult animals with compassion and safety. She also uses a lot of her funds from youtube to give free grooms to animals in need, and promote animal adoption.
Shipwrecked - They describe themselves as stupidly smart comedy, and that’s very true. They’re an indie film company, creating historical fiction that is really lovely and funny.
Kittenlady - Hannah and Andrew run Orphan Kitten Club, a non-profit dedicated to caring for abandoned neonatal kittens. They’ve been doing a lot of traveling to learn about kitten and cat care around the world, and shine a spotlight on shelters and colony caretakers internationally.
I could literally go on forever. But these are the ones that are super standout for me at least right now!

OK KO Let's Be Heroes Halloween Review: Parents Day and Monster Party (Patreon Review by Emma Fici)
Tumblr media
Happy halloween all you happy people! It's finally the crux of spooky season as we finish things off with a spooktacular at one of the many, many, manny, mannny, MANNNY, Mannnny, mannnnnyY, mAnNnNnNnNnY, man hey nony nony and a fuck you zaslov shows removed from HBO Max this year, courtesy of my pal Emma Fici. Is WBD and the regime before it being awful to this show the reason she commissioned this? No, I simply suggested it since she had me cover Ghoul School earlier this month and the timing couldn't be more perfect and threw in a surprise bonus episode entirley of my own volition. Is it a nice bonus that I both get to spotlight a show I genuinely love with a lot of my heart that got a raw deal and get to throw more shade at a company i've gone from genuinely loving and respecting to hoping badly gets taken out asap.
Tumblr media
So let's watch the show under the cut shall we and see what spooky fun we can have as we both meet Enid's parents.. and in the sequel to that ep some old Ghoulfriends Drop by.
I"ve covered OK KO here before, but since this review is aimed at fans of the show, fans of Ghoul School who might not have seen it, and Emma who definitely hasn't seen it, a small intro is in order. Those of you who are familiar can go wait patiently in the pup tent. I have sent a concierge ahead for you
Tumblr media
So in short: OK KO Let's Be Heroes! Was a late 2010's Cartoon Network show by Ian Jones Quarterly. Ian is a modern staple in the industry, having worked on venture bros for several years before moving on to Steven Universe, being one of the main creative forces behind the show alongside the show's creator, his friend, creative partner and eventually romantic partner Rebecca Sugar. He also voice acts both in his own show and in Bravest Warriors, another show on the ever escalating pile of shows I need to talk about.
While his other work is excellent, again the guy was the story editor for steven unvierse that should say enough on it's own, OK KO is really his magnum opus. It's a clear labor of love that naturally got shit on by cartoon network for the crime of having to premire earlier because HBO Max hadn't happened yet and being an action show on a network trying to stamp those out at the time, though given what we've seen with the reign of he who sucks dirty ass in thunderstorms, that woudl've been MARGINALLY better at best. My point is the show had a lot of love put into it, a passionate fanbase, vibrant animation and a wonderful premise we'll get to in a moment.. and got shat on for it. I try to be a forgiving person, but this is one thing I haven't quite let go for damn good reason.
So what's this show about anyway? Well it's simple and it's not: the world of OK KO is a world of heroes and villians, of any and all kinds, with most trying to be the best like no one ever does.. and many running buisnesses out of a strip mall, Lakewood Plaza Turbo. It's here we enter our title character: K.O., a small child of 6-10, which is how this show does ages, and it's every bit as hilarious and stupid as it sounds. He's the son of Carol, formerly Silver Spark of, the local Avengers/JLA/ JSA/Justice Pals/New Justice Team Equilvent, P.O.I.N.T. who now runs a ladies fitness dojo.
Wanting to be the best like no one ever was, KO seeks a job at Gars Bodega, ran by Carols old friend who still nurses an embarassing crush on her Mr. Gar, basically if Mike Haggar had cool shades and used to be a luchador instead of a WWF style wrassler. After some trials, trivales and Carol asking nicely, KO joins the Bodegamen becoming friends with the other far less motivated workers: Egotistical, buff, hannah barbera style alien with teleknesis that makes the old sound effect rad and Naruto style emo ninja enid.
In addition to the normal stuff: running the counter, mopping the deck which is navy for floor, and stocking boxes, they also reguarly have to fight the evil Lord Boxman, played by my dad and yours Jim Cummings who sadly isn't in these episodes, who regularly sends his stupid robot children to fight our heroes and wants to destroy the plaza because it's there. No really he can't stand the fact there's a hero place next door and has an entire episode going into withdrawls becaues he can't attack them for a day lest his investors drop him. Yes he has investors. Yes this show is wonderful
So now you know the plot there's plenty inbetween there and plenty of depth that really makes the show shine: Sure there's silly shenanigans from taking a genie in a soda bottle to court, to KO impersonating Rad for an episode simply by putting on alien antenna and Rad's nametag.. and Rad forgetting he asked for this leading to a Rad off, to a health week with tons of psas and the bots nursing KO back to health before he punches them while they all smile> This show can be utterly goofy and I love it… but there's also a deep backstory involving why Mr. Gar left point , a mysterious shadowy villian in the background and ongoing arcs.
The characters also undergo noticable and engaging character development: KO starts off fairly naive and while he remains optimstic learns from his mistake and slowly grows as a hero while grappling with his inner darkness.. aka an evil emo tweenager split personality what lives in his head, Rad grows from an obnoxious bro to the genuinelyc arring and kind person he is underneath and Enid slowly thaws her icy heart and lets others in. IT's a show with lots of warmth, character, and worldbuilding and I highly recommend it.
So with all that out of the way we can get to the actual episodes.. which are mostly self contained but I can't help ranting about what I love. They still contribute to Enid's character though, both focusing on who she is and her past and helping shade her in a bit. This first one wasn't requested, but I feel since their the only two episodes set at Enid's house and featuring her spooky family, they belong together. This also has a high possibility of being my last singular episode. Possibly. I might do the other crossovers, more on those later, at some point, but as a whole this series deserves it's own full on review which I intend to do I just have to finish venture bros and take care of a few patreon unlocked retrospectives first. But with how little time I have this may come before the amphibia review. Anyways onto the episodes!
Tumblr media
Family Day
It's Family Day at the Plaza and Ko is so excited he had to be put in his car seat
Tumblr media
Like even for 6 that's a lot.. though that's also the joke so touche Ian. Touche. Basically everyone in the Plaza Brings their parents to visit. The subtle joke that we see Drupe and Ms Mummy's mom, a sentient strawberry and a sentient mummy whose mom's somehow human because this universe found some way to make Tanis parentage even more confusing, despite neither working here at this point. Drupe just loiters outside for now and Ms Mummy lives in the back rooms. And of course as Carol points out she's here every day.
Still K.O.'s excited to meet his best friends parents and we do indeed quickly meet Rad's awkward parents, Ofrang and Theodosia. As I found out looking into Ian, Theodosia is named after his grandmother, Theodosia Okoh, who to my shock lived quite the life. She was a ghanian school teacher who designed the Ghana flag, became the first chair of the Ghana Hockey association and had a stadium named after her, and if I rmemeber right was the basis for Nana Fua, with both the Pizzas and Rad's family being based on Ian's experience as a first generation son of immigrants. As such Ofrang and Theodosia use blorp a lot and frequently embarass their son (and only rad everyone else knows their dope) with their talk of ray guys…
Tumblr media
NO really they refrence this joke exactly. .. why did this show only run three seasons? This is a nice moment for Rad though. While he is frequently embarassed by his parents and grumbles with introducing them…. he still told them Parents day was happening, brought them and introduces them to KO. Keep in mind Rad at this point is in the politiest term possible "a fuckboy" who hangs out with a giant teenage baby and a walking armpit, which both sums up wht they are and their personalites. While KO's shown he has a heart beneath the air of obnoxious douche he puts on, it usually has to be dragged out of him. But here he brings his dorky awkard parents without any reservation, at most is exasperated in that sterotypical teen boy way. For him that's a lot. There's no ego or boasting, no Recess style attempt to replace his parents with cooler parents. Bringing his parents to the event is a low bar, sure, but the fact he cleared it without needing an entire episode to says a LOT.
No the one who didn't bring her parents is Enid, which does make sense: Enid is intensely private, with her pasts with Elodie (her best friend/possible giflriend who abandoned her for a shot at the big times and insulted her) and Rad himself (Who she had a crush on.. and who totally fucked it up by being an obnoxious cloud of axe bodyspray on the advice of aformentiond armpit and genetically modified baby), only coming out thanks to Elodie visting (Enid kicked her ass all over the plaza, though tthe two later properly reconcile next season. More on that when I get there some day), and Cupid forcing the issue respectively. Cupid in this universe is buff and dope as fuck by the way. I didn't NEED to mention that.. but I wanted to so here we are.
Enid claims their on a mission, nopes out of her shift (with Rad hilariously going "We have shifts?", as the show is not afraid of poking fun at itself), and thus KO and Rad decide to do the responsible thing.. and stalk their friend to her house to find out what she's hiding.
That would be unsettling.. if it wasn't so hilariously done with KO casually telling his mom "We're gonna go spy on enid" with a simple Kay from carol and Rad's dad giving him a ray gun.
Our heroes tail her in Rad's sweet van. Dendy, KO's stoic best friend his age and presumed future wife isn't in it this time which is weird. Maybe she had a piano recital. What they find shocks them as Enid's house is a mad monster mansion, enid dresses as a witch, and in his EXACT words, Rad tells us her parents are "A Hot Vampire and a Hot Werewolf". Which tells us Rad is bi.. as did the intensely homerotic dance battle that the crew entirely knew what they were doing with earlier in the season. This show is gay as fuck and I love it for that and about 100 other reasons
Naturally the trained ninja catches them spying on her.. but so do Enid's parents, so they get inside and Rad, being rad, naturally asks a bunch of questions about general spooky stuff such as skeletons in the closest to Wil ("We do but we don't like to talk about them") and bats in the belfry ("I do hang up there sometimes" ). Rad is back to being the shitlord we know and love and Enid can't stand it for understandable reasons. The boys even get invited to dinner, but not before meeting Enid's brothers boris and Icky, a frankenstien and a pumpkinhead respectively. Now you may be asking how the hell any of this works given Bernard's a Wolf, Wil's a Vampire, and their children are none of those things. And that's kind of the point. Sometimes the show has iron tight canon.. and other times it's world runs entirley on nonsense with little to no explination. It's part of it's charm: it knows when to properly explain shit and when to just have things be delightful cartoon nonsense, like the sun being a sentient being with sunglasses you can surivive being thrown into.
So the dinner is naturally our adorable monster couple showing off Enid's baby pictures.. and her dancing in a pizza for no reason while she prays for death btu death won't come. Meanwhile some ghosts hide bellow and decide they aren't getting enough attention so they plot to attack.
Naturally KO being a baby boy baby lets slip Enid's a ninja and her parents are again it, as "Ninjas aren't scary". And it's.. honestly hard to watch despite you know… it being two monsters complaning about their daughter being an anime ninja. While this is more hiding your career than say a sexuality or something, it comes off that way, with Enid being utterly terrified her parents know. Granted the most the two do is not be happy with it, but it's still sad to see two people who were perfectly happy turn on their daughter in an instant.. not too harshly but just enough.
Thankfully the ghosts posses her friends.. which usually isn't a godo thing but having to fight these two idiots not only shows off JUST how powerful B and Wil are… but allows Enid to say screw it, go into ninja mode and summon jutsu a giant shadow monster that whollops their asses in the most terrifying way possible, while Wil finishes the job by swallowing their souls.. and spitting them out. I mean the ghosts are their guests. Can't kill them and the most they did was run arround and do shenanigans. Their fine. They know not to fuck with Wil now.
What's nice though is that while , naturally Enid's parents now see Ninjas can be scary, the real nice line is them bemonaing how they coudl've been so "ignorant". I often forget tha tline but it's the thing that makes this episode work. Without it it just comes off as "oh well your talent is like us we like it now" and more them realizing they were wrong to not only not see it could be.. but to not let their daughter live their life. Totally cool with her being bi though. I mean it's been on her bike for ages, they know. Also she brought her girlfriend home so it's kind of a big sign. They hug, Enid decides to invite them and we ge ta suprisingly nice moment from Rad, who admits he was laughing sure, as he puts it "you know I express myself in the most obnoxious way possible" but he related, also being embarassed by his parents. It was in good fun. And Enid invites the two to visit some time.. you know when their invited and not following her home. That's creepy. Stop it. Happy end for all.
Tumblr media
Monster Party
So we've come to the series halloween episode , one of two but the other I may save for th efuture, the full series review or just whenever. And with this we need to talk about the shows crossovers.
See crossovers don't happen a ton these days and when they do their with shows that are both on at the time or are in the same universe, like Steven Unvierse's classic crossover with uncle grandpa that should not have worked but is one of the series funniest episodes, or Milo Murphy's Law season 2 opening crossover with Phenias and Ferb… which hopefully will get it's own with hamster and gretel. Please.. I fucking need this please.
So it makes OK KO's crossovers stand out: Ian didn't entirely avoid contemperary crossovers, as Rad showed up on the shortly lived and underated Mighty Magiswords (ANOTHER victim of the Zaslav curse) for what ended up being it's finale, and Season 2 had the epic and worth it's own review Crossover Nexus, with KO teaming up with Garnet, Reboot!Ben Tennyson and GO!Raven to stop a generic villian and save CN City.. yes from those old promos.
But that last bit is what really defines Ian's crossovers: Ian goes for what he WANTS to crossover with no matter how weird it is often going back to the very begingings of cartoon network. As such KO met captain planet and WOULD have met Space Ghost had it not been for the tragic passing of George Lowe and Martin C Crocker, and later met Sonic the Hedgehog, a crossover that took until season 3 to get through Sega but thankfully happened. Maybe sonic MOnth next yeah hmmm? He even provided a finale to his early webcomic RPG World despite now resenting the thing, finding a healthy way to end it and give his main character Hero closure.
So while this crossover was a nice suprise, in the context of the show it's not. The real shock is that he pulled this off: that despite being in an era of Scooby Doo where they constantly tried to act like real monsters didn't exist, they let Ian do a whole episode on characters who surely did. Granted part of it was likely that Scooby, Shaggy and Scrappy are absent. The former two get mentioned offhand, and the latter is naturally persona non grata, but at least gets a spirtual mention as Rad does his own version of the scrappy rap. It's still amazing though as unlike the other crossovers which are just "our heroes happen to end up in a crossover and it's fun and stuff", this one, while having some small elements of that, weaves the girls into Enid's backstory. Had the show continued they could've shown up AGAIN based on this ep alone. It's one thing to have a crossover it's another to weld them to your universe but Ian got away with it and made it look flawless. Well almost. The episode has issues but makign the Grimwood Girls a part of Enid's backstory and old friends of hers isn't remotely one of them.
As for how our old friends get in here, it's fairly simple: Enid's enjoying a day off when her parents announce her old Ghoul School friends are visiting. They told her but well.. she was on her phone which i'd call a stupid teen sterotype.. but as a grown ass man I also often miss important stuff being on my phone or tablet, so fair play.
Enid is actually happy about it, only put out because she's in her day off clothes, and talks to Rad about it as she was already facetiming him. KO is also there hiding in Enid's pot, although given he's with Boris and Icky I theorize he was hanging out iwth them as he's everyone's friend, and just so happened to hear about Enid's old friends.
The show also does a good job explaning why despite being a friend of the girls Enid wasn't in the movie without her feeling forced into the backstory.. by simply using Enid's own backstory: Enid was at Grimwood before the film, but not being happy bein ga witch, she transfered to Lakewood where she could be her ninja self, and as Ashly Burch so brilliantly delivers it "Met the people who ruined my life, including your stinky butt". A mixed bag.
Rad HAS evolved to the poitn he's not fucking shit up intentionally.. but he still fucks shit up, bringing up how it'll be a shock Enid isn't a witch and get sin her head so we naturally get a "character pretends to be what their not episode".. which is EASILY the weakest part of this whole thing. Like even if they call her their witch, anyone whose seen Ghoul Schools knows these girls: Their acceptable, loving and kind. They'd be fine if she was a Ninja as it ends up bearing out. They accepted a 20 something jughead clone, a great dane and a smaller great dane who raps. They can accept a Naruto Ninja. So there's no real supsense or anything. Not only that as KO says
Tumblr media
Enid has grown past needing to hide from people or being open with people, so this plot really dosen't work and feels like it was plotted out a season ago before the POINT Prep arc crystalized how far she came as a character.
Yet the episode works for the same reason the film did despite it's own flaws: The Girls. The Grimmwood Girls are every bit as kind, lovely and welcoming as they were int heir own movie and we get the same amount of spooky fun. Their older now which fits and also gives us ages for the older girls: mid-middle school, probably 7th or 8th grades as their slightly taller than enid in a flashback, which is done in the style of ghoul school, so likely when Enid was in 6th grade since most of her drama happened in 8th, so Enid either transfered mid-year or during 6th and as we saw the school takes most ages, though given the girls have left it they've either graduated or went on to ghoul high school. Either way I think it's neat. It's still vauge, the show loves vauge ages as we've established, but in a way that's easy to figure out. The Girls designs aren't touched much though, still looking like their iconic outfits just teenage versions, except for Tanis and Winnie who are still childrens since they were only 4 or 5 in the original. Elsa gets the biggest change having a longer flowier dress and more normal sandals instead of the platform ones from the movie, but their all great and they adapt to the OK KO art style easily.
One thing that's also barely changed.. is the voice actresses. Incredibly all but TWO Va's returned for this. This is shocking both because only one of them was all that active these days, and because Cartoon Network gladly paid the money for all of them. Not only that the only two that don't return are due to circumstances beyond th eteam's control: Marilyn Scheffler sadly died, so Natalie Palimedes steps up as winnie while Patty Maloney was retired due to injuries discussed last time, and thus Kristin Li stepped in as Tanis. BOth do a great, job and I could only SLIGHTLY tell with Tanis and still had to look up who was replaced. Susan Blu, Pat Musick and Russi Taylor all return, all stepping back into their old rolls like the 80's were yesterday. Russi in paticular was INCREDIBLY lucky as she sadly passed on the year after this episode aired. It shows her talent that much like Teen Donald that same year, you coudln't tell how bad her health was and her delivery was as good as ever. I truly miss her and i'm greatful she got to play Phanty one last time.
The five characters feel like they never left us, being just as joyful, full of puns and happy. The episode works so well because while Enid was rectonnced into the group, she serves as as stand in for us: someone who hasn't seen these girls for a very long time and are utterly happy to see their old friends again, vibrant as ever with all their old quirks, sibella's hair cape and winnie using all fours in tact
We also get to see the girls be badass, as clearly like many of us Ian wasn't really happy with how the whole last act went down, and shows just what the girls are capable of after years of extra honing of their powers with the episodes best scene: the monster showcase, with the girls deciding to show off all their powers. Their funny, charming and entirely badass: Winnie makes a replica of Michealangelos david in seconds with her claws tazzmanian devil style, Tanis casually reads while lifting up Enid's Parents Doom buggy WITH Ko and Iggy inside with ONE strand of her hair, phanty posses Ko for a sec and makes him do a jig, and Elsa shocks herself with a kite
Tumblr media
Sibella easily wins the show though, revealing that in addition to her old bat form she can now create a SWARM of bats, usese them to create a stage mid air and dances with a gentleman also madeo ut of bats.. before going all red eyed and fangy and eating his head whole
Tumblr media
Like she was always the strongest of the group, but god damn. Also Phanty is just.. so fucking enamored the whole time. I didn't think i'd be shipping these two but here we are.
While KO chastises Rad for hecking up… though he's in Jail so he's thankfully been punished for his hubris, it's a whole runner, Enid tries doing a spell but it's been so long since she tried magic, she can't remember them and brings a tree to life.. that eats the children.
Enid is forced to admit her shame.. and while against his plot dosen't work for me the resolution is as obvious.. as it is Grimwood. The girls are not only utterly HAPPY for enid being a nInja.. but always knew, her having dropped her manga in said flashback which we go back to and all it getting out of Phanty is a "oh that makes sense" before they all smiled. THey love enid for Enid not being a witch just as they love scrappy for scrappy and not being a dope ass rapper. They all hug.. then kick a tree's ass as a team. Seriously give these girls a spinoff I beg of you. i get Warner isn't making good decisions but come the fuck on. Phanty posseses it, elsa pries the kids out, and enid uses her shadow possesion jutsu to stop the tree while Sibella rescues the girls and swallows the tree's soul, all cuimlating in rad arriving from the moon in time to lay out rhymes. All in all a fantgastic episode> is it perfect. No but can it entirely coast on reuniting all these amazing characters and having a ton of heart and charm just like the original film? Hell yeah. Consider joining my patreon, follow for more reviews, thanks for reading.. and Happy Halloween!

33 of the Absolute Best TV Shows to Watch on HBO Max
Searching for a premium TV show to settle in with tonight? Despite the HBO Max TV and movie cull of 2022, there are still quite a few quality TV series to binge on the streamer. It helps that it's the home of HBO, Warner Bros. and DC Comics. You'll find something to keep you on the couch. Read more: The best movies on HBO Max What's new on HBO Max in March March 6 - Perry Mason, season 2 premiere (2020): Period drama. Perry, Della and Paul brace themselves for the murder trial of the century. - Rain Dogs, season 1 premiere (2023): Dark comedy. It chronicles the life of Costello Jones, a devoted mother who wants more for her precocious young daughter, Iris. March 12 - The Last of Us, season 1 finale (2023): Post-apocalyptic series. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. March 26 - Succession, season 4 premiere (2018- ): Comedy-drama. It explores themes of power and family dynamics through the eyes of patriarch Logan Roy and his four grown children. Best HBO Max original TV series At time of writing, these TV shows all score at least 70 on Metacritic. Comedy Jake Giles Netter/HBO Max Our Flag Means Death (2022—) In this comedy set on the high seas, Rhys Darby plays Stede Bonnet, an aristocrat who abandons his cushy life and family to become the captain of a pirate ship. Spoiler: He hilariously bumbles through the gig. Game of Thrones fans may spot Hodor actor Kristian Nairn hanging out among the crew, and the series also stars Taika Waititi as Blackbeard. Nathan Fielder, best known for his Comedy Central show, Nathan For You (and cringe comedy), writes, directs and stars in this new HBO series. In the show, the comedian goes to extraordinary lengths to let people rehearse moments before they happen. In the first episode, Fielder helps a man prepare for a confession to a friend, and builds an exact replica of the bar they're planning to meet at (the attention to detail is incredible). After planning for any outlandish thing that might happen, we see how the real exchange between the two friends plays out. Bizarre and truly fascinating, The Rehearsal should get some time on your screen. HBO Max A half-hour comedy series from Issa Rae (the star and creator of HBO's acclaimed series Insecure), Rap Sh!t introduces two former friends from high school. Shawna is an aspiring, socially conscious rapper, and Mia is a make-up artist and single mother who works multiple jobs. By the end of the first episode, the young women (now in their 20s) have reconnected and filmed a mesmerizing rap video that takes off on the internet. The show's protagonists are phone-obsessed, constantly checking up on social media and recording videos, and it impacts the viewing experience in interesting ways. HBO Max The great Jean Smart rightfully takes the spotlight in this acclaimed comedy-drama series. Throwing iPads into swimming pools and delivering withering looks, Smart plays Deborah Vance, a legendary Las Vegas comedy diva who must face the prospect of appealing to a younger audience or disappearing into obscurity. She's partnered with Ava (Hannah Einbinder), a young and equally snarky comedy writer, to freshen up her material. Perfectly balancing its biting insight into how the comedy business treats women, with the warmth of an odd couple buddy comedy, Hacks is one of the best originals to come out of HBO Max. HBO Max Starstruck is a classic screwball comedy, starring the lovably goofy Rose Matafeo. She plays Jessie, a twentysomething Londoner who parties it up on New Year's Eve, then later discovers she had a one-night stand with Tom Kapoor, a celebrity played by Nikesh Patel. Follow Jessie as she juggles odd jobs, from cinema worker to nanny, and her blossoming relationship with a film star that involves no high jinks whatsoever. Watch out for scene-stealer Minnie Driver as Tom's agent in this witty, neatly crafted comedy package. HBO Max The Sex Lives of College Girls (2021—) Mindy Kaling co-created this dramedy about four 18-year-old girls who start their freshman year of college together in Vermont. Equipped with distinctly different personalities, the college newcomers navigate love and sex in their own ways. The show is funny, easily bingeable and bolstered by the chemistry between its female leads. A contemporary teen comedy showcasing messy experiences, relatable characters and raunchy jokes. HBO Max I Hate Suzie sees Billie Piper team up once again with Secret Diary of a Call Girl writer Lucy Prebble. The result is a frenetic tour de force of ideas, steered by a vulnerable performance from Piper. She plays the titular Suzie, an actress who, moments after winning a part in a Disney movie, discovers she's one of the victims in a celebrity phone hacking scandal. Each episode explores a stage of trauma, tackling the question of how compromising leaks both upend and perhaps liberate a person's life. Amid the ruthless satire is a wonderful friendship between Suzie and her manager Naomi (Leila Farzad). HBO Max The Righteous Gemstones (2019—) This outrageous series highlights a highly dysfunctional family of famous televangelists called the Gemstones. In the show's first season, a member of the family is blackmailed, and ridiculous antics ensue. John Goodman stars as the family patriarch, Eli, and Danny McBride, Edi Patterson and Adam Devine also commit to the bit, pulling off an absurd and addicting black comedy. The second season of the show just wrapped up, and HBO has already renewed the series for a third. HBO Max From the minds of the gang behind Horrible Histories comes Ghosts, a sitcom that manages to become better and better with every episode. The ever-reliable Charlotte Ritchie (Feel Good, Call The Midwife) stars as Alison, a woman doing up the old mansion she inherited with the help of her amateur builder husband. On top of money problems, their reno plans aren't helped by the ghostly residents who want the house to themselves. If you're on the look out for purely light-hearted viewing, Ghosts delivers a high gag rate, a talented comedic ensemble and even an endearing arc of friendship. Most of all, it's gleefully silly. HBO Max The sibling rivalry is strong and primed for hilarity in this comedy from a couple of Saturday Night Live writers. Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider tell the story of Cary (Drew Tarver) and Brooke (Heléne Yorker), siblings in their late 20s who struggle with the sudden rise to internet fame of their 13-year-old Justin Bieber-channeling brother. Molly Shannon is a treat as their mother, Pat, ushering her children through open doors to success. Once you get over the gimmicky premise, The Other Two's pop culture satire and surprisingly heartfelt storylines are a winning combination. Schitt's Creek fans should give this a look. HBO Max In Barry's opening scene, SNL alum Bill Hader casually leaves a hotel room that contains a dead body. The actor plays hitman Barry Berkman, who isn't happy with life or his unconventional profession, but his path is altered when he travels to Los Angeles and gets roped into performing in an acting class. Barry features plenty of violence and a deeply troubled protagonist, leaning into the "dark" part of its dark comedy designation. But it's also really funny, and there are three seasons to binge. At the very least, you'll want to tune in for truly great scenes between Hader and his acting teacher, played by Henry Winkler. HBO This satirical show follows the family controlling the world's biggest media and entertainment company, whose members become embroiled in a battle to take over as their father's health declines. HBO Max Search Party caught the eye of HBO Max, shifting to production with the streamer in its third and fourth seasons. The latter is arguably its best yet, taking the story of four, clueless millennials to even greater extremes, including a bizarrely brilliant Susan Sarandon cameo. But we begin when twentysomething Dory becomes an amateur detective to track down a missing woman she barely knew in college. Really, she's searching for something else: herself. Equally conceited are her boyfriend Drew, the scene-stealing Elliott and the hilariously blonde Portia. This oddball show somehow creates the perfect cocktail of dark humor, mystery and insane characters. A collector's item that won't come around very often. HBO Max The best TV show of 2021 might already be here. It's a Sin follows a group of young gay men living in London during the '80s, just when HIV/AIDS was first diagnosed. This unique look at the early stages of what became a death sentence is handled with creator Russell T Davies' trademark irrepressible joy for life. The warm, empathetic characters continue to live their lives to the full, flitting between bustling share houses and local bars to the beat of a popping '80s soundtrack. Fast-paced, stylish and eye-opening, with a prevailing sense of hope, It's a Sin is a soaring triumph for everyone to fall in love with. HBO In the words of CNET reviewer Richard Knightwell: "2020 sucked. You got up every morning and it all was all just a tiny bit worse. But every now and then a ray of sun would appear through the clouds. One of those bright spots was Betty, a fly-on-wall-style tale of skateboarding teens in a balmy New York. Utterly real and breathlessly dreamy at the same time, HBO's TV follow-up to the indie hit Skate Kitchen painted a picture of young women facing the world head-on, pushing off and gaining speed and reducing obstacles into things waiting to be jumped over while looking cool. My baby daughter turned one while this show was on, and I can't wait to plonk her on a skateboard. I hope she finds a Betty crew of her own." HBO Max This black comedy takes us from London to Newcastle, Australia, following the misfortune of a woman who loses everything after the untimely death of her husband (don't ask how he died). Broke and desperate, Sammy is forced to return to her hometown with her son and daughter, where she soon discovers she isn't exactly a popular resident. The cringe factor is strong as Sammy does everything in her power to return to London, with some standout moments when she reunites with her bickering brother. Drama Liane Hentscher/HBO This TV adaptation of a popular video game follows hardened survivor Joel (The Mandalorian's Pedro Pascal) and spunky teen Ellie (Game of Thrones' Bella Ramsey) as they face human and not-quite-human dangers in a post-apocalyptic world. HBO Max The White Lotus (2021—) What was initially a limited series was so good HBO renewed it for a second season. The satire about guests at a fancy resort gradually unveils the darker edges of its picture-perfect postcard. The White Lotus features an ensemble cast, including Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, Steve Zahn, Molly Shannon and more hilarious people, who make this series soar. If that wasn't enough, a murder mystery with the big reveal waiting till the very end will keep you thoroughly entertained. Seacia Pavao/HBO Max Following the life of television chef and cookbook writer Julia Child, this drama doles out a generous serving of humor and charm (and delicious-looking food, of course). Sarah Lancashire is endlessly watchable as the famed American cook, who paved the way for future cooking shows with her long-running series The French Chef. All eight episodes of the season are available on the streamer now, and HBO Max has confirmed it's dishing out a second season. HBO Euphoria's second installment is on HBO Max now. This visually stunning series has garnered its fair share of fans, and it's not hard to see why -- the absorbing performances, cinematography and exploration of mature topics make this show shine. If nothing else, stick around to see Dune star Zendaya, who plays teenager Rue. HBO Max A dramatized miniseries that draws in part from a 2004 documentary of the same name, HBO's The Staircase is an enthralling take on a true-life story with fleshed-out characters and an all-star cast. Colin Firth stars as Michael Peterson, a novelist and husband to Kathleen (Toni Collette), who is found dead under suspicious circumstances. You'll want to tune in to see what happens next. Sophie Turner, Dane DeHaan, Parker Posey and others also lend their talents to the drama. Carole Bethuel/HBO In this captivating limited series, Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, 2018's Tomb Raider) plays Mira, a young movie star who takes a role outside her normal blockbuster -- a criminal gang's muse in a remake of real-life French silent film The Vampires. The HBO show is based on a cult 1996 film of the same name, and both are directed by Olivier Assayas. HBO Max With Station Eleven, post-apocalyptic TV fans are in for a treat. The show's nonlinear storytelling will keep you on your toes, and well-conceived characters add to the appeal. As most of humanity succumbs to a flu-like virus, a young girl named Kirsten and an adult named Jeevan take shelter from the scourge. But from there, the show immediately launches 20 years into the future, which opens the story up to new dramatic turns and keeps us guessing at the past. It's really good TV, and it will likely satisfy those who don't typically opt for post-apocalyptic stories. HBO Small-town detective Mare Sheehan investigates the murder of a young woman, but Sheehan's own life is marred by personal struggles, including a divorce and the death of her son. Animation HBO Max Harley Quinn is an adult-oriented animated series that centers on the baseball bat-wielding antihero. Kaley Cuoco voices the mayhem-prone Harley, who in the first episode breaks up with the Joker and tells him she's going to replace him as the top villain in Gotham. The hilarious, action-packed show also features characters like Poison Ivy, and three seasons are available to binge. It premiered on the DC Universe streaming service before moving to HBO Max. HBO Max Adventure Time: Distant Lands (2020-21) Two years after Adventure Time ended, this four hour-long special came along, and it's a brilliant treat for fans of the animated series. The miniseries nails the spinoff brief, introducing new characters and expanding on the Land of Ooo universe, while remaining true to its source material. Its heroes Finn and Jake, his magical doggo pal, set off on new adventures, along with Princess Bubblegum, Marceline the Vampire Queen and BMO. The hourlong format is a nice way to change up and add to the exciting storytelling. A surprisingly emotional ride packed with every ingredient that made the original so beloved. Thriller HBO Max The Tourist starts its engine with an intense car chase in the Australian outback. More specifically, Belfast star Jamie Dornan is mercilessly chased off road and through the desert by a semitrailer. The next thing we know, Dornan's character is in the hospital with complete amnesia. A fun and twisty miniseries, The Tourist lets us tag along with Dornan as he searches for answers. One mystery that doesn't need solving? What you should watch tonight. HBO Max The Flight Attendant (2020-22) This compulsive thriller starring Kaley Cuoco is one of the best new shows to come out of HBO Max. Cuoco plays Cassie, a reckless flight attendant who sleeps with a passenger on a wild night out. She wakes up in Bangkok with barely any memory -- and a dead body in bed with her. With the ghost of the deceased helping her piece things back together, she sobers up and takes on the mystery of what happened. Watch out for a fantastic title sequence, as well as a surprisingly dark psychological layer. But mainly enjoy the amusing combination of an inept detective bumbling through the world of cold killers. Superhero HBO Max Following the events of 2021's The Suicide Squad, this DC spinoff catches up with Peacemaker (John Cena), our towering, costume-clad protagonist who's just been released from the hospital. Peacemaker believes he's a superhero, but with his oft-repeated phrase about attaining "peace, no matter how many people I have to kill to get it," the title doesn't really suit him. The show establishes Peacemaker's next steps -- he isn't returning to prison, but instead taking part in a black ops mission that will (again) get his hands dirty. The show often lands its jokes, and you'll especially enjoy its entertaining supporting cast. Documentary HBO Award-winning filmmaker Nanfu Wang (One Child Nation, In the Same Breath) directs this fascinating docuseries about the 1985 murder of 68-year-old Helen Wilson in the small town of Beatrice, Nebraska. There's a lot to the story -- six people were convicted for her murder and exonerated 20 years later. In the first episode, we learn about the impact of these events on Wilson's family and the Beatrice community. The show also introduces Burt Searcy, a former police officer who decided to tackle the case. Crime HBO Max Season 1 of Tokyo Vice, a crime drama based on a book by journalist Jake Adelstein, has slickly stepped on to HBO Max. Set in Japan in the late 1990s, this noir follows an American journalist (Ansel Elgort) who eagerly joins the staff of a major Japanese newspaper. A world of grisly murders, neon nightclubs and powerful crime bosses awaits. Paul Schiraldi/HBO This well-reviewed crime miniseries comes from David Simon and George Pelecanos, who've also worked together on The Deuce, Treme and The Wire (which Simon created). It's directed by King Richard's Reinaldo Marcus Green. Based on a nonfiction book written by a Baltimore Sun reporter, the absorbing, six-episode show explores police corruption through a story about the Baltimore Police Department's Gun Trace Task Force. HBO Max With its fifth and final season, this Italian crime drama based on a true story has carved itself a place among the great mafia shows. It stands out for its realistic portrayal of the Naples underworld, following a clan's internal power struggle after its head is arrested. With a dark, claustrophobic atmosphere and believable characters, Gomorrah is a refreshing and complete piece of TV. Read the full article

A little about me and this blog
Hello there, welcome to my little blog. Glad to have you here. My name is Leonie. I made this blog as a personal project. It's just a space for me to learn and grow and document my progress. I have struggled with social anxiety most of my life. Because of it, I ended up taking on the mantle of a People Pleaser. I spent so much time worrying about what I looked like through other people's eyes that I totally neglected my own feelings about myself. And when I wasn't out trying to please people, I spent all of my time hiding myself away. Away from the world and from prying eyes. Unfortunately, I've learned that this is incredibly counter-productive. So, I embarked on a journey to get to know and get comfortable with myself. And I'll continue to take baby steps to overcome my weaknesses and reintegrate myself into the world.
If you are someone who relates to this in any way, know that you are welcome here. I’d like to make this an interactive place. Not only to get to know myself but to get to know other people as well. Perhaps, we can learn about ourselves together. 🙂

Hannah’s Creator Spotlight!
On the nineteenth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
@musette22
I wanted to save Minnie for last because she is one of the first Stucky writers, and definitely the first Evanstan writers I ever checked out.  Minnie and her works have such a special place in my heart and I love reading her fics for the wonderful “Minnie” character it has.  She has definitely become one of my favorite writers. Not to mention Minnie is the true Evanstan QUEEN and always has the best headcanons.
Okay okay, I could go on and on, but everyone check her out and see how talented and amazing she is yourself!
Hannah’s Favorites:  Ready to Go, I Spy (I’ve read this one at least 10 times it’s a must!), There is a Tavern, I’ve done some things, Body Politics, Maybe Baby, Soul Searching, Room 427, I Really Can’t Stay, Diving In The Deep End
To Read List:  Round Robin 2018, Rare Is This Love, Round Robin 2020

kinda just ranting so feel free to pass on by
but it does irk me sometimes when i think about how much recognition the syndicate gets and the levels of respect it attracts compared to the eggpire. i’m not saying that i’m anti-syndicate, i’m just saying that the eggpire deserved to be treated with more seriousness and love in general.
the eggpire was a group of individuals who were controlled by a mf egg and each member’s relationship with egg was very interesting in my eyes. the egg promised all of them something that was unattainable, but they were each blinded by their feelings and mental corruption! like bbh, who first discovered the egg with puffy. if i’m not mistaken, the egg promised bad that he’d be able to be closer with skeppy after red skeppy appeared. with ant, it wasn’t clear on why he joined until about a month ago, but he joined because he wanted to be with his long lost lover and the egg promised that it could do that. with ponk, they were heartbroken when sam “cheated” on them and allowed the egg to fully corrupt them, even though they were trapped with the egg and was masquerading as a member before hand! hannah ended up being corrupted because when she tried to help out, she got trapped and wasn’t freed for 24 hours. punz wanted chaos and got that in the end i guess.
bbh, ant, and ponk have each been stricken by heartache and grief. i wish more people realized that and talked about it more. the eggpire has some of the most tragic characters in my opinion and i would’ve loved to see more people exploring how this cast of broken characters could uplift one another or how they felt betrayed by one another (that last point was mainly about ponk and how they felt about being left in the dark about the details of the red banquet).
the syndicate hasn’t made the same impact as much as the eggpire has. i genuinely think it has so much attractability to it because it has more popular names connected to it.
i like the eggpire and the egg arc in extension because it was made to bring attention to the smaller cc’s and characters that don’t get talked about enough. i think that everyone primarily involved with the egg arc did fantastic at expanding their characters in ways that wouldn’t have been possible without something like the egg i think.
a lot of people say that they wish the egg arc ended sooner so that people could hop on the server more and blame the egg arc for dividing the server. that’s such a dumb notion. one of the purposes of the egg arc were to bring the server together and to highlight characters that didn’t get much spotlight, and it did that wonderfully. i do think that the egg arc failed is that it was a bit too ambitious in its execution. maybe there should’ve been more communication happening between content creators or a bit more of a plan, but i don’t know.

Part one of Leah’s gifset series of soft moments of t100
Every Wednesday, t100 Fic for BLM is chatting with one of our creators accepting prompts via the initiative!
This week we’re chatting with @braveprincess! You can check out Leah’s work here.
Tumblr media
Leah’s wellarke moodboard
Questions
1. Where do you get your inspiration for art?
Kind of everywhere. I like making moodboards because they remind of the collage art I used to be obsessed with making.
Tumblr media
Leah’s moodboard for @princesshedas’s bellarke prompt, wreck my plans (that’s my man). This prompt has already been prompted via our initiative!
2. What’s your favorite part of the creation process?
Searching for and choosing the photos. It can be difficult to find what I’m looking for if my idea is very specific. Sometimes I’ll be set on finding a certain type of photo and my brain will be like CHALLENGE ACCEPTED, so its fun. I’m really particular about the photos I choose and how they’re arranged. The look needs to feel balanced or I won’t be happy with it.
Tumblr media
Leah’s Vampire!Clarke moodboard
Tumblr media
Leah’s roarke moodboard
3. Do you have a favorite piece you’ve done?
I did a Clarke Griffin moodboard series a while back and my Vampire!Clarke one is a particular favorite of mine because I feel like it turned out really nice, along with the Wellarke and Roarke ones I made. But my most recent favorite I’ve made is one for the notion board for the prompt Lynn wrote titled ‘wreck my plans (that’s my man).’
Tumblr media
Leah’s moodboard for @bellarkestitchdelena’s bellarke fic You Were Right. This fic was prompted via our initiative.
4. What was the most difficult piece to create?
Canon moodboards are always especially difficult since the show’s setting is so specific. The one I’m most proud of is the one I made for Hannah’s fic, “You Were Right.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part two of Leah’s gifset series of soft moments of t100
5. What’s a piece that you would love someone to prompt you?
I love making moodboards and I welcome any prompt honestly. But I actually started a gif series of soft moments from the show a while back that I only made a couple of posts for and would love any ideas/prompts to add on to that.
You can prompt any of our amazing creators via this google form. We accept prompts for all t100 ships and characters and you can check out a full list of our participating content creators here.
Not sure what to prompt us? Check out all of our fic and fanart prompts here.

On anon bc it’s my sideblog but honestly the audacity of that other asker to be like “it’s not like Hannah’s elytra, which was actually important to her lore and she had plans for” as though that’s not exactly the same situation for Michael???? Like??? Michael has been important to the lore since at least last February????? And is involved in current and upcoming lore???
And you’re absolutely right abt it not mattering who was the one doing it, if Hannah had sent a message like that in the server and got mocked like this it would undeniably just be bullying. In fact if it was completely reversed and it was benchtrio doing this to a Minecraft mob involved in dteam lore to the same degree I would also be pissed at benchtrio for doing that even though I’m a mainly benchtrio blog. It’s not ok, and even beyond mocking the message Eret sent it’s destroying the first lore plot line Eret has been able to pursue after months of not being able to due to poor mental health. To me, I just can’t hear that and still see it as funny
ur right!!!! i agree fully like. it's the same situation, the only reason there didnt seem to be as much of an outrage is due to the ratios of the fandom. like, the dsmp encompasses a lot of storied and a lot of creators. right now, bench trio and dteam are really holding that spotlight.
i'm not saying that's fair, but it's objectively true.
if the statement is, "it's unfair that hannah's situation did not amount as much outrage." then like
yeah you're right that's not fair, but also like looking at the numbers it makes sense how that happened. but boomer shouldn't have destroyed hannah's wings, regardless. like i agree, both situations stand on the same grounds. neither are acceptable behavior.
boomer shouldnt have fucked with hannah's wings because it was important to her lore, a fixed item to her lore; and snf shouldn't have fucked with michael.
especially given that it was another opportunity for others to hop into the lore.
yeah idk. i just??? theyre the same situation. both honestly do and did deserve to be treated in the same manner.
thank u for the ask anon :)
howeber today im no longer answering asks abt this bc if uve seen my previous reblogs i jsur wanna think about peter parker for the rest of the day 😭😭😭

i feel like the smp lore is finally becoming so that the somewhat less popular creators on the server are far more relevant to the upcoming big mishmash plot than the more popular creators. like don't get me wrong, they're all important players, but i'm glad there's more of a spotlight on ponk, sam, fundy, the syndicate, hannah, etc.! like the only big popular creator who i think is going to be a huge player is quackity, and i have a feeling he actually is descending into villainy. idk i'm excited!!
I'm excited, too!! I never thought this is what would come of the egg plot when I watched that first stream, months ago, but I'm very happy w where it's going!

When will the OC creators find out what you have planned for their characters?
considering that the focus of the series is of course our six canon characters (james, lily, remus, severus, sirius, and peter), OCs won’t be playing as large a part in the series. some will be roommates, others classmates similar to ernie macmillan or hannah abbott, others will be on the quidditch teams over the years, a few will be in the death eater slyth gang- really, the purpose of OC submissions is to round out the student population with characters other fans have created.
a lot of OCs have been sent in with really cool storylines connecting various characters, describing relationships, giving background, adding family members, and all that development is fantastic! some of the details have even made their way into our worldbuilding a bit, others have integrated into canon families- it’s really fun mixing all this originality into our series canon. the truth of the series is though that a lot of the OCs will just have fairly minir cameos. you might see their names called in the sorting or for OWL exams, might hear a professor reprimand them for a class disturbance or praise them for a well-executed spell, might see lily choose to sit with one of them rather than the marauders, things like that.
every OC you send in is added to a doc where we keep track of their year and house. the goal is to at least mention every single one sent in at least once. with over 100 submissions already, I hope it’s understandable why everyone can’t get a major spotlight moment. they’re there because it’s more meaningful to give a fan’s character a mention rather than fill the student population with random people we made up. it’s a nice little personal way to add another community element to the series, giving everyone a way to leave their mark on the books, even if they don’t join the writing or beta teams. the purpose of the series is to be as community-driven as possible, and this is an extension of that goal :)

“For the crime of shooting the king’s deer, he will lose his hand.”
“Criminal,” Hannah muttered next to her. Marian glanced at her sideways before looking back at the scaffold.
The tanner was barely more than a boy. His face was spotted, his hair was greasy, and his eyes were bloodshot as though he’d been crying. He was thin as the saplings she’d seen when they’d first arrived in Nottingham.
“Please,” she heard a woman cry—the boy’s mother if she had to guess. “Oh, please for pity’s sake. We were starving. Have mercy!”
“Silence,” commanded the sheriff, a wide man with blond hair and watery blue eyes. He looked quite the way a king’s deputy should look, except that his hair was perhaps a little greasier than the solemnity of his office called for. “He broke the king’s law and will know the king’s justice.”
Marian watched as the boy’s arm was extended over a block and the executioner took out an axe. She did not watch as his hand was cleaved from his body but she did hear the cry of pain that ripped out of his throat and the mutterings of the crowd.
When she could bring herself to look again, the block was a bit wetter, a bit redder, and the boy was being dragged away, leaving a ribbon of blood trailing on the ground behind him. He had clearly fainted.

Note
Hannah is still sent sexist comments on her twitch/twitter and most of audience don't watch the four of them (or in Alyssa's case - never b/c she is too busy with school and stuff) unless it is for lore. They have a big platform, sure, but unfortunately that doesn't mean that the attention they get is good (and the platform in comparison to Tommy and Ranboo? Ranboo has been on less than Puffy, yet he averages around 100k subs while she is not even close to that yet.)
correct me if i’m wrong but i’m going to answer this according to how i interpret it.
i never said or tried to imply that the women dream shouted out experience no hate or a lack of success because they’re women. i didn’t try to ignore the hate they receive or disregard their lack of growth simply because they are women.
my point was that we’ve seen time and time again dream shoutout misc. male creators, skyrocketing and creating their careers. the women who are grouped into his community have built a lot of what they have from the ground up and i don’t think that should be ignored. dream should realize the power he has and the position he is in and with this, try to use his influence to help put more female gamers in the spotlight.
it’s also the responsibility of US to help support those that we want to get more recognition, however it’s easier for someone like dream to give a stepping stone (rather an escalator with his size) to these creators

Tackling Mental Health Online
Daniel Howell, Hannah Hart, ElleoftheMills, Mikey Murphy, Gabbie Hanna, Lina Renzina (Talent Relations and Partnerships - The Ad Council)
LOCATION: SPOTLIGHT STAGE
DATE: JULY 11, 2019
TIME: 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Creators today have a unique opportunity to spark dialogue and provide support around mental health because of their powerful, intimate relationships with audiences online. When creators share personal stories about their struggles, it has the potential to help both their own healing and their audiences’. But we’re often uncomfortable sharing the tough parts of life — especially as it relates to mental health — and if we aren't careful, it can cause more harm than good. Join us for an open conversation about tackling mental health experiences digitally, including tips on how to talk to audiences about these sensitive issues as a brand and a creator. We’ll also discuss how creators are managing their own mental health, balancing the constant pressure to churn out content while avoiding creative burn out.
Moderated by: Lina Renzina (Talent Relations and Partnerships - The Ad Council)
The panel will be livestreamed here.
