#guess i could say these were my two fave scenes so far

Hi! I'm so excited you're finally watching MASH! I hope you enjoy it and I selfishly hope you grow to like Margaret who starts off as not great and then becomes great and my fav.
i am having a great time!! i started at the beginning of season one and just finished season two. some of the discs in the complete series set i got as a gift last year don't play right or cut out mid-episode, which is driving me a little nuts, but i guess i'm having the classic syndicated tv experience of randomly missing stuff and always having some episode i've never seen floating out there forever.
my long form thoughts so far for those interested:
it's such a great collection of characters for comedy, because they are all pathetic and terrible in their own unique way, but are so charming and funny and easy to watch while they commit their little crimes against common sense.
i really like the mix of episodes -- the We're Having A Caper episodes and then the ones where it's like we're just kind of living here and things happen in some kind of order, but the things aren't necessarily related, which feels very appropriate for the setting.
i'm watching without the laugh track, which highlights one of my favorite things, which is that the main and background characters laugh out loud at what's happening. it gives the show such a lived-in and messy feeling. i just came off of watching the good place 5 times in a row, where the dialogue and plot are especially tightly packed, so this feels especially like it has a lot of just hanging out.
i keep thinking about how i'm watching this show fifty years later, not knowing what is the 70s lampooning itself, what is the 70s lampooning the 50s, and what is actually being played straight but i assume is a joke because of my perspective. some scenes are hard to watch on purpose and some are hard to watch by accident.
i wish i were watching it with my dad so he could keep pausing it to explain things to me, even if they don't need explaining, because i think that would add to the experience.
character feelings after two seasons:
hawkeye: alan alda being so charming and having such great timing really makes this an easy get. of course i'm going to love him equally in both success and failure (mostly failure).
trapper: my bestie!!! there's something about his face that makes me feel like i know him personally. i just love his physical acting choices. it's always funny. my fave i think.
margaret: i definitely enjoy her!!! how can you not?? they introduce her as being both highly capable and The Sexiest American Woman In Korea, who either can have or has had every high ranking officer in the army, and then she's soooo horny for the most pathetic man alive that she can't function.
frank: the narrative requires him to suck sooooo much every minute of every episode, because everyone else also sucks, so he really needs to put his back into it. he's gotta be there and he does it well, idk what more to say.
henry: he fascinated me in season one because i was like... clearly he's supposed to be A Caricature, but i couldn't figure out which one, and then he turned out to be A Character instead. i love his complexity and his serious moments, but i don't tend to find drunk acting that funny, so a lot of his shtick is lost on me. i wonder if he's the only character (and maybe klinger?) where the laugh track would actually serve him.
radar: as a former assistant yeah bro i get it, you keep on keeping on.
father mulcahey: the only one who is not terrible at all so far even once. Protect Him. i am so happy every time he comes on screen.
klinger: i'm still warming up to him as a character since he's mostly a sight gag still.
the parade of nurses: i have decided to take it at face value that 1) they are all here at war because they're super horny, 2) they are playing hard to get for fun, and 3) the pill was somehow invented before 1950, and under those conditions GET IT GIRLSSSSS.
my largest outstanding question: were they all actually functioning people before the war? i assume war did this to them but it's also possible they were like this before and their wives are all like THANK GOD they're overseas cheating on me because imagine how much worse it would be if they were like this but in my house.
on to season three!!!

If you don't mind me asking, can I ask your top 5 (or top 3) favorite characters from JJK? And why you loved them? And your top 5 favorite moments from the series? Sorry if you've answered this question before....Thanks....
I don't mind you asking at all!! Actually I'm very glad you asked! :) I love talking about jjk and I think I've annoyed everyone I talk to irl far too much about it at this point!
Oh and please put your top 5 favourite characters and scenes in the replies!! (That goes for anyone reading this as well-- I'm curious to see what everyone's is!)
MANGA SPOILERS (UP TO 255) BENEATH THE CUT!! (ALSO IT'S LONG AS HELL UNDER THERE!)
My favourite characters (you can all probably guess but I'm going to list them anyway!!)
Choso
Chances are, if a character is an eldest brother and has dark hair and eyes, he'll be my favourite! Dick Grayson, Uchiha Itachi, Portgas D Ace, Iida Tensei (favourite male chara based on vibe alone haha), Kamado Tanjirou, Mori ohshc (it's old ik ik but I was in love w him!).
But beyond that, I just adore Choso. His devotion to his brothers, his awesome use of blood manip, how intense he is and how tired he looks-- he's awesome!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Yuuji
Again completely unsurprising! I also tend to go for upbeat, spunky and happy characters as my favourites. He goes through so much, but still manages to maintain an iron resolve and hold onto others, and to create and protect special bonds with others. I truly admire this about his character-- and I hope he gets the happiness he deserves. If not, I'm always willing to write it for him hehe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Maki
Maki is so cool to me, I enjoyed the chapter with her and that sumo guy so so much-- imo he was her first real mentor! (Sorry Gojo!) I love how relentlessly strong she is, how tough she's had to become and how, no matter what was happening, she held onto her own resolve. Everything she did being for Mai absolutely stole my heart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Nobara
Nobara saying she "only has so many chairs for people in [her] life", vs seeing just how many chairs were there, waiting for her to find special people to fill them absolutely broke me when I saw it animated. I was legit crying. I love how assertive and aggressive she is, and how she's still a very sentimental and protective person. Her admiring Maki was so cute, I could never let those scenes go!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Sukuna
I have to give it to him, he's a great villain. I was skeptical about this at first-- I love Nanamin and Gojo and Miguel and Yuki and so many others so much! -- but looking through the screenshots of the manga I have, 70% of it is Sukuna. He's very attractive, so relentlessly evil and just so strong, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now for my favourite scenes!! Sorry if this is way too much to read!
Red Scale
The entire episode. I've rewatched it so many times and screamed at all the same parts. I love the fighting, the animation, blood manipulation coming in clutch, the memories that don't exist-- everything! It's just such a fun episode to watch! And on top of that they're my two faves, of course I love it!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Higuruma Hiromi saying "let's have a retrial"
Listen-- I don't know why, but something about that panel is SO attractive to me. I was screaming at his later scenes (I wanted Sukuna's head on a pike and his ass on the executioner's blade), but that early shot of him just refuses to leave my mind.
Tumblr media
3. Maki sumoing with Miyo
IMO he was her first proper mentor, and I love the growth that we see in her, and the insight into her mental state since losing Mai. My heart broke for her in that scene, so getting to see something more personal of her, how she struggled with everything that had happened to her and all her responsibilities, and how she was able to overcome it by focusing on the present, on what she could and could not see-- rather than everything she had to do.
Tumblr media
4. Yuuji, Nobara and Megumi going crazy at the end of s1
I will never get Megumi's crazy smile and laughter out of my head-- he let LOOSE!
Nobara's "game of chicken" had me giggling like mad, yelling at the screen, cheering, everything!
Yuuji and Nobara's black flashes cemented this scene pack for me-- I just love it! Their powerups, their growth in this short period and their teamwork! I love to see it hehe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Todo's locket opening to reveal Yuuji and Takada-chan
Todo is so genuinely special to me. I have never seen a more delusional character, and I don't think I ever will. I've loved him since he asked Megumi what his type of woman is, and every time he's on screen I can't help but laugh. This scene in particular made me cry with laughter-- the whole episode I was clapping and cheering, mimicking his poses, texting incomprehensible messages to my friends. Todo is everything man.

Hey!! It's the byler music fairy!! What are the songs you most associate with byler, Will, and/or Mike, and why??
(sorry for the lack of emojis... your askbox wouldn't let me add them D:)
aaaaahhhhh I have a couple of these haha
for byler, my fave songs for them i have is fly out west by yot club, which is literally s4 byler. like mike literally flies out west at the start of s4?? lmao. there's also lyrics like
Well, tell me, do you know?
You're all I dream about
Take it from me, I'm too dumb to recognize your doubt
Well, I don't wanna go
I'm in too far to leave
Tell me how you live so easily, young and naive
and
Talk bad, who's that?
Walk back to your place
I think you fake that smile that's on your face
which could honestly apply to both will and mike, one being all the other dreams about and being jealous about how naive they are, and also both of them faking their smiles, mike because of his failing relationship with el and will pretending to be ok with it.
ok so for the second one is true blue by boygenius, and although the title screams will as the chorus says that the love is 'true blue', which is obviously mike's colour, there's a bunch of lyrics that connect to both of them.
lyrics from mike's pov:
You can't help but become the sun - will has a bunch of light symbolism throughout the series, especially in the last ep where the light shines directly onto will from mike's pov
When you moved to Chicago, you were spinning out
When you don't know who you are, you fuck around and find out
When you called me from the train, water freezing in your eyes
You were happy and I wasn't surprised
i can totally see mike thinking that will was happier and trying new things in lenora without him, especially after the lies el told mike in her letters and then mike being a little upset about it.
this part is from will's pov:
Now you're moving in, breaking a sweat on your upper lip
And getting pissed about humidity and the leaky faucet- digging the grave for unnamed hero agent guy haha and creating el's mind fight bath
You already hurt my feelings three times
In the way only you could- it's not my fault you don't like girls, the lack of letters/calls when will was in lenora, and the rink-o-mania fight
You've never done me wrong
Except for that one time that we don't talk about
Because it doesn't matter anymore
Who won the fight?
I don't know, we're not keeping score
these lyrics also have major it's not my fault you don't like girls vibes.
and then finally from both of their povs:
But it feels good to be known so well
I can't hide from you like I hide from myself
I remember who I am when I'm with you
Your love is tough, your love is tried and true blue
Ooh-ooh
this is major painting scene vibes, with both will and mike feeling understood by the other, and not hiding from eachother.
finally, to finish this super long post off, here's a song that is soooo mike wheeler coded that literally every lyric can be applied, forever dumb, by surf curse. it's all mike's pov
I would run away from you, if I could
Never really wanted to, but I guess I should run - the first two lines obviously correlate to will and how mike feels about him leading to him wanting to run from him
I would fall in love with you, but I can't
It's too hard, maybe we'll just pretend- the next two lines are about his relationship with el lmao
But it's hard when I don't know what to do
I'm angry and I'm tired and confused
I got so many thoughts stuck in my head
And none of them make much sense- big big big mike vibes
I said I would follow you, but I lied
Don't be mad
Well, at least I tried- 'follow you' is both related to crazy together as well as mike's relationship with el
I never had a spot for you in my life
Which was true
Till I heard you cry- mike meeting el for the first time and taking her in or byler meeting at the swingset
And your tears dripped down your face into my eyes- either the van scene or el telling mike that he never said i love you
I'm sorry and I hate myself this time
Cause I got so many thoughts stuck in my head
And none of them
Make much sense
anyway, tysm for the ask!! (this was my reminder to change my anon settings haha)
here are the three songs!!!

2023 Fic Year in Review
thank you for tagging me @smooth-boob 🥺
(So I assume all the questions refer to fics completed in 2023?)
List of Fics Completed this Year
Through Life and Death (and In Between) (simi)
The Ghost in These Halls (anthony angst, some a&b)
Benedict's Apothecary (a&b and some c)
Breathe (a&b)
A Is for Annoying (a&b)
Benedict with sideburns (a&b)
Benedict teaching Anthony how to paint, and Anthony teaching him how to do household accounts (a&b)
Missing scene from 1x04 (anthony and violet)
A fic where Colin argues with Anthony about going on a Grand Tour rather than going to Oxford (a and c)
A oneshot from the cfs!Anthony fic universe... (a and c)
That nd!anthony fic which i posted and had up for a few hours and then put on private
(Er... then I found more fics...)
(stff245) suicidal Anthony at Christmas (damn I should've posted this at xmas lol, it's just where Violet is drunk and yells at him and says she wishes it had been Anthony who had died rather than Edmund)
(stff246) more suicidal Anthony
(Um... I could post those last two actually maybe (though it would be fun to post the xmas one at xmas)... also they made me realise that my more recent a&b short fics are shit lmfao (hopefully that doesn't also apply to a/b fic........ i mean, maybe that one's safe because it's also anthony angst, although of a different sort (i should write more anthony (+ family) angst... (or I should stop posting shitty fics))))
Number of Words Written
This is for non-WIPs I presume and only for the fics I completed in 2023. 17260 unless I miscalculated.
Your Most Popular Fic
The Ghost in These Halls
Your Personal Fave
The Ghost in These Halls
Your Fave Scene
...I don't think I have one. Not from the fics that were completed in 2023 anyway.
A Fic or Scene that Challenged You
The first section of The Ghost in These Halls, I rewrote that so many times (the bit where Violet starts laying into him). Also, the second section with Benedict... towards the end of it when they're berating each other, that took a while to get out (I kept leaving it for later and coming back to it when I was inspired, and just slowly kept chipping away at it)
A Line of Writing You’re Proud Of
I have more in the WIPs/abandoned fics lmao. ffs. (like, the time loop fic where anthony attempts suicide again and benedict walks in on him/watches him die... and the cfs fic where anthony comforts daphne (and colin and benedict are there too)... and that one line from the madhouse fic about the vase of water shattering a rainbow on the wall... OH and how could i forget that paragraph from the ~benedict the artist -fic)
But uh. Actually I found one, from a fic I haven't posted (yet?); I just saw it again tonight so it feels fresh (he = Anthony, ofc):
The sunlit meadows of his childhood turn to ash, the treehouse is rotting and crumbling beneath his feet, his father sighs and looks down at him in disappointment, his mother levels him with an accusing stare. And he’s only fifteen, six, ten, four; these are his first memories and this is how it’s always been; his brothers and sisters have always hated him, he’s always been a tyrant, he’s always made them unhappy, he’s never really belonged.
A Comment that Touched You
All the lovely comments I got in 2023 on sebis fic! Holy shit. Every time I get a new nice one, it just makes my day, Which, for me, means I am happy for at most an hour, because I'm generally a miserable person, unfortunately.
Also, the nice comments on The Ghost in These Halls were lovely too. Except for that one iffy did-you-actually-like-the-fic-or-not comment
Something that Inspired Your Writing
Anthonyyyy. Anthony + angst (Anthony and Violet, Anthony and family...). Anthony and Benedictttttt
Your proudest accomplishment (that one scene; finally finishing that one fic; posting your first fic; etc):
Probably the Ghost in These Halls. It's the only fic (so far?) where I wrote the sections out of order. Also, I guess getting my head around Anthony is a nice accomplishment, because it let me write the Ghost in These Halls.
For the uh WIP fics, proudest accomplishment would be writing so much goddamn smut and actually being told that it's hot?????? eyyyy. good achievement for someone who's either (panromantic) ace or a lesbian
Do You Have Any Writing Goals for Next Year?
Yeah. Keep writing a/b fic :3 And fucking get back to the ~benedict the artist -fic.
As for... improving my writing... I feel like I can get rambly. Or make things very long, somehow. Like a/b fic. But that's also just pure indulgence on my part... I don't want that fic to end 🥺 (When else am I gonna have such a good setup where I can have my cake AND eat it? (aka have anthony/benedict as a normal couple with class differences to overcome and then them finding out that they're brothers and then i get to explore the incest side of it LMAO))
Uh also... I want to learn/remember that 1. when you're tired, you should stop pointlessly poking at the fic and you may think everything is bad/wrong when it's not, and 2. I feel like I need to learn the difference between what I want to see in an upcoming section vs what I want to cover in an upcoming section in a plot-relevant way. Because... I did a checklist of things I needed to cover for sebis fic, and it worked so well, so I've sorta been doing that for other fics, but now I'm starting to think that maybe the checklist only works if you have some plot points to cover (like sebis fic did), whereas e.g. if you want a certain thing to happen at this point in the story (e.g. something specific you want in a smut scene, or ... you want benedict to give anthony one of his poetry notebooks ~right now in the upcoming scene for example)... then maybe it isn't so good because you're trying to force the characters to do something that they're not ready to do instead of listening to what they want to do. Idk. I'm still sorting this out in my head.
Anyway.
Tagging @lucktofate @suspendingtime @wolfsbanesbite @effervescentdragon @4xmulti21champion and anyone else who wants to do it~!

I remember reading a comment about the last special AOT episode where they found so weird that after the scene where they -in an amazing way must say-showed the horrors of the rumbling you see a lovey dovey scene with Armin and Annie all blushing lmao. They said what was the point of making that scene anyways? No offense to the ones who enjoy this pair, but Yams could probably developed them in another way or just not at all. Look, I’m not one to criticize the author because I don’t think I could write it better, but as a reader there are some characters that you feel he didn’t put much love to them, and is probably one of the problems you have when at one point of the story you have so many characters and you have to find a conclusion for all of them.
Also, I will never forgive Yams for making Hange’s death so dirty where later you see this little kid freaking flying. That’s my villain origin story. Sorry for the rant 😭
I remember that many people expressed that this scene was out of place even when that chapter of manga came out. Like I said, I feel like this ship had potential but it was wasted by storytelling. And just like you mentioned, it's really hard to give attention to all of the characters since there are so many of them. Second of all, introducing a bunch of new characters after three seasons without them for a sake of plot twist is not the right move imo. When they were introduced I just couldn't wait to see my fave characters and thats the only thing I cared about. I feel like it would've been better to show the two sides of the conflict right away, but that'd ruin the surprise I guess.
And I agree with you on Hanji part. I feel like yams had hanjis death planned since the panel with the shards came out and I keep thinking it could've been better. I admit, it was spectacular and cool, but the reason why they got there was too far fetched (I talked abt how I find Floch's anchoring to a boat ridiculous multiple times and now I don't feel like talking abt it anymore🧍‍♀️). Same thing with what happened next - falco discovering he can fly right after what happened 😭
The death was cool imo, but the events that led to it not so much
Also levihan's goodbye was delivered beautifully so that's comforting

1, 2, 12, 16 and 22 for the ask game! No particular fandom, up to you.
the character everyone gets wrong
Gonna say a toss-up between Xiao Xingchen and Xue Yang here.Guess it depends on whether you mean in fic or just in The Discourse in general?
I see so so many bad takes on Xue Yang, especially people utterly glossing over his trauma, and... I'm happy for you guys, I guess, who've apparently never known trauma and what it does to a person? It's not a matter of Xue Yang deciding to be a murderous asshole because he broke a finger once. It's that his entire personality and the way his mind works were brutally shaped by severe abuse and trauma at a very young age. You don't have to like him or at all condone his actions, but have a little compassion, for fuck's sake.
As for Xiao Xingchen... I don't know which rubs me the wrong way the most, the "lol XXC can't do math" crowd claiming he's outright stupid, or the "lol XXC was raised by hippies" who utterly disregard his whole cultural context. Personally not at all a fan of mean (dom) Xiao Xingchen either, I just can't see it work with his canon personality, but to each their own, I guess. I won't read it, though.
2. a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom
Hmmm. That's actually a tough one, because I hc Xue Yang (And Xiao Xingchen for that matter) as rather fluid switches without particular preference as long as things are sexy and feel good.
I guess you could argue that Xue Yang would be wary about who he'd let top him because of his rough and precarious childhood and how badly the world's hurt him, but then, the boy also has a self-destructive high-risk-behaviour streak a mile wide, so.
I guess the closest I can get is that I don't think Song Lan enjoys the idea of bottoming, partly because of his more ingrained ideas of masculinity and femininity and the power roles he feels are inherent in topping/bottoming, but more importantly because he already struggles with physical touch, and the idea of being held down, touched and "trapped" in any way during sex is a bit scary. Not to say he wouldn't come around to it, but it'd take a lot more mulling over - and gentle experimentation. 😏
I already answered 12, so moving on to 16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
Oh man, is this my cue to mutter about mean dom Xiao Xingchen again? Like, I get the appeal of exploring characters far outside their canon constraints, I really do, and if mean dom Xiao Xingchen tickles your metaphorical pickle, by all means, have fun! I just personal really dislike it. (I am super grateful to all writers out there who have started tagging for it, though! It makes it easier to avoid - and find, for those who are into it. Everyone wins!)
As for pairings, I just don't like SangCheng or XiCheng, they both feel very pair-the-spares to me, and are just... Mm. Not for me. Honestly, funnily enough, SongXiao goes here, too, 95% of the time. I pretty much only like these two as part of SXX - I don't know if it is because of many SongXiao shippers' way of treating Xue Yang like dirt, or just because the two characters on their own don't interest me much, but yeah. On the whole, I won't read fic for just SongXiao unless recommended by people I trust, and I'll only like/reblog art if it's very pretty and doesn't imply dead Xue Yang.
I also really don't like most modern au BDSM fic? So much of it reads like a wholesome manual - and I'm sure for people in that scene, it's really hot! It just doesn't do anything at all for me, except give me secondhand embarrassment. If sex is going to be a bit painful and having undertones of dominance and submission, i want it to be very, very real, borderline dangerous and not done for play or politely negotiated beforehand. Gimme the hot mess or nothing.
(Mandatory disclaimer that these are just my personal squicks and mehs, not passing any judgment on anyone who does like them! My Kink Is Not Your Kink And That's Okay, and ship and let ship. ✌)
I already answered 22, too, but... Hm. I'm sure I can think of more if I try...
22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
I think Xue Yang's and a-Qing's relationship is a lot more complicated than a lot of people seem to want to think! Especially for those who've only watched CQL, where a lot of the Yi City arc was either cut or angled to make it into more of a psychological thriller - but they were a family! All three of them, and in the text there is such clear evidence that they all really cared about each other! Even Xue Yang.
A-Qing stole his candy without fear, asked him "why were you like that when you were little??" when he told the first half of the story of his childhood trauma. When she claimed to have been bullied to the point of crying, he protectively told her how to defend herself and made her apple bunnies to cheer her up. Even after Xiao Xingchen's death (and he must have known by then that she was the one who sold him out) one of the things he did while cleaning the house was to make her bed, waiting for her to come back home.
Not least of all, Wang Haoxuan said in his in-character farewell note that Xue Yang would have protected a-Qing as long as their happy 'dream' in Yi City lasted.
They ended horribly, yes, causing each others' deaths, but there was a time where they cared deeply about each other and looked out for each other, and that still matters.

Magnum PI 5.03 ‘Number One With a Bullet’ review
Tumblr media
So, thanks to the first two episodes being so awesome and totally on point with everything I might have gone into this one with a tad bit to high of expectations.
Don’t get me wrong, I did like this episode. Maybe not as much as I was hoping for. Part of it, for sure, was  the lack of Magnum and Higgins scenes (them being like my fave part whether they be bickering, being awesome partners, kicking butt or smooching) but I think the biggest part was the fact that I didn’t feel like the plots at all connected.
The Three Plots and How They Did Not Fit Together...
Like I really loved Gordy and Child’s ‘save the K-pop star’ thing. Gordon’s son having her ringtone, the whole getting randomly stabbed *dramatic* and showing up to save the day and just all around like-like-like. It was totally wholesome and so far I am not seeing sad- spiralling- depressed Gordy anywhere! (Since I do love my angst I was kind of looking forward to that.)
Tumblr media
The Greene dead thing very mysterious, loving Magnum pondering the watch and figuring things out there at the end after hearing the guy was tortured.
Tumblr media
Rick and Higgy getting kidnapped, was probably my least favourite bit. Because it was all just too easy and the investigation too off screen and neither TC or Magnum seemed all that concerned/stressed out.
Like come on, compared to when Juliet got snatch or Magnum poisoned this was like ‘whatever’ and we got just a very small moment Magnum helping Higgy out of the grave there at the end when they were all reunited.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So the story with the kidnapping in itself isn’t really the problem and could have been really great if we got some more emotion from the guys. TC being worried about lying to Suzy (or something) about where Rick had gone and then being all ‘what if-’ and Magnum going ‘don’t man, they’re fine’ to show something. I love TC and Magnum and they were such a fun duo the times when they’ve worked cases before and I didn’t get that as much this time. Because rush and lack of feels?
While I know not everything leads to something and stuff, because that is the nature of episodical TV I think we should have had something here to call back or plant seeds for the future.
So yeah, the kidnapping and k-pop girl plots should/could probably, in my humble opinion each have had their separate episodes and the episode which featured kidnapped Rick and Higgy should have had some stakes and emotions. Like also would not have minded, in a few episodes, for kidnapping episode to have been the Miggy together reveal.
I also kind of figured we might get that at the end, with a big damn Miggy kiss there at the rescue moment. Just because Rick was all ‘Magnum got a GF’ with Juliet at the start in the car. (I guess we’re calling that one baby amnesia, because like a week or two ago Magnum told him he had feelings for Juliet.)
That car convo a the start was gold though. So cute when she’s all happy when Rick says ‘whoever she is he must really like her’ and I found Juliet’s ‘that’s a shame, I was looking forward to meeting her’ both funny and kind of interesting. (Please talented people, give me gifs of this scene!!!)
Anyways, as always, a fun ride, but for me this was not a new fave-fave.
Promos Lie
So yeah, is this news to anyone? No. Am I still a little upset? Yes.
Tumblr media
Other than Magnum PI and the occasional Hudson and Rex episode (my mother loves it so I usually help her stream it when I’m there) I don’t watch a whole lot of TV. I certainly don’t watch the promos for episodes before watching them if I do catch an episode of something else.
Thus, I forget, promos lie and get all excited just to be disappointed. I’ve adjusted my expectations accordingly now and am I figuring we’ll get the stuff from the promos at some point but maybe not always in the episode they’re promoting. Such is life even if it is annoying.
Next week
Looking forward to some good old Magnum and Higgins working a case and maybe some development on the Greene case. I’m figuring we can’t go too fast with it, because it’s supposed to be the mid-season finale right? So 7 episodes to go. It looks pretty action packed and we got a concerned Higgy which is always nice.
So yeah, looking forward to next week and if one is lacking Miggy feels there is always the option of re-watching this gif for 4 hours! Enjoy...

1, 6, 7, and 9 about your current fave fic of yours (I'm not familiar with what midgexlenny is, but tell me about it if you want to!)
Lol oh I do sometimes feel bad for my poor Sherlolly mutuals putting up with me while I lose it over a different ship ❤️ they're different but the venn diagram of pairings does overlap in places.
First off, this is Midge and Lenny from Amy Sherman Palladino's The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. They're two foul mouthed stand up comedians in the late 1950s/early 1960s and they're soulmates.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you enjoy Gilmore Girls level fast paced dialogue but with more f bombs and so so so many pretty dresses I definitely recommend at least bits of the show.
Being that Lenny is a fictionalized version of real life comedian Lenny Bruce (originally intended to only appear in the pilot but they brought him back as part of the show because the chemistry was just too good. The actors are friends in real life and the joy in working together comes through in some really beautiful performances) the final canon of the show was a bit handcuffed on just how far the creators decided they could let the ship sail but that's where the fanfic comes in 😂
Which brings me to my fic Guess Who's Coming to Yom Kippur!
*What is your favorite thing about this fic?*
This was my first dive into writing for this fandom and it has been so much fun. Truly delightful! So many things I've enjoyed with this one. But my favorite thing I think is that it really is an ensemble piece. The characters of the show are all very nuanced, often delightfully flawed, sometimes wacky individuals and I love giving them all a seat at the table and getting to know them. Sometimes quite literally within the fic (it centers around a big family dinner for several chapters). I've had to think of scenes cinematically and it's stretched my dialogue writing in a really enjoyable way. There's at least one scene I wrote visualizing it as a long tracking shot with characters moving in and out, very high energy and lovingly chaotic. It's a fic that has a lot to do with family both found and blood related and how love can show up and show through in a lot of humorous ways.
*Were there any alternative versions of this fic?*
Yes! I originally came up with the idea a season prior to my actually getting around to writing it (wrote it after watching season 4, thought of it watching season 3). The original vague concept for it was much shorter and ended with Midge and Lenny in more of an ambiguous but hopeful "maybe someday" where as the current fic has them very much endgame. And I'm quite happy with that. I feel like I discover more about the story and the characters the longer I work on it. I'm eventually going to write a sequel because I'm having so much fun (another first for me!)
*Favorite line of narration/ Favorite bit of dialogue*
So this fic is currently sitting at over 62k words and counting (it comes with trying to emulate Amy Sherman Palladino levels of dialogue) Easily the longest thing I've written 😅😅😅 I'm not sure I could pick any specific favorites without reading through the whole thing again. And maybe not even then. There's a lot of moments I'm very fond of. Though most probably require more context than would make it easy to share. I'll include a snippet of the tracking shot arrival scene I mentioned since that doesn't require a ton of context from the show other than knowing the names mostly.
In this bit they're arriving at a party hosted by Midge's ex in-laws and Lenny is meeting her older brother Noah and his wife Astrid for the first time. Esther is Midge's two year old daughter. Noah is canonically a secret agent. Lenny is known for getting arrested for things he says in his stand up (a proponent of free speech in a red scare era).
They arrived at the Maisel residence as dusk began to settle in over the sleepy suburb.
"Hi everyone! Sorry we're late. Esther needed to make a pit stop," Midge called out as they let themselves through the front door.
"Us too! We just got in," Noah said from somewhere deeper in the house.
Midge set the kids loose and made her way towards the kitchen. "Mama, Shirley, what can I help with? Oh, Esther sweetie, I don't think Grandma wants you touching that."
"Hi Midge," Astrid greeted, coming in holding little Chaim.
"Hey Astrid! One second," Midge called over her shoulder, rushing to corral Esther away from the more breakable tchotkes. "Esther. Esther put that down!"
Lenny smiled, collecting the kids discarded shoes into a pile by the door.
"Oh hi! You must be Midge's friend." Astrid gave him a welcoming smile.
"Lenny," he supplied.
"Lenny. So nice to meet you. I'm Astrid. This is Chaim." She held her son out for him to hold, passing him off. "Would you mind?"
"Oh I–" Lenny took Chaim in hand on reflex as Astrid didn't wait for a yes or no.
"Thanks."
She gave him another quick smile before dashing out the front door and wretching over the porch rail.
Lenny held Chaim at arms length, both too stunned by the transfer to know how to proceed.
"Hello…" he attempted, looking the child in the eye.
"Astrid, honey?" Midge's brother's lanky limbs carried him into the foyer in search of his wife.
Midge returned with a rescued porcelain figurine in hand. "Hey Noah, how was traffic–oh my god."
She stepped out immediately to check on Astrid the moment she saw her, leaving Lenny with Noah and his offspring.
"Yours, I believe," Lenny said finally, handing Chaim to Noah.
"Yeah…" Noah replied, taking his son while glancing after his wife and sister in concern.
The two men stared each other down for a moment, neither one quite sure how to react to the other.
"I'm Lenny."
"I know."

Do you think JQ cares at all at how her characters (and to an extent the actors too with the promo and stuff) are treated or does she only care about the money? I mean they already did huge changes and they will probably do more going forward. As an artist myself I would find it disheartening how something I created would be taken apart so much that it barely resembles my own work. And also how does she feel about all her fans response to the season 2 disaster? There was a lot of complaining on her insta posts about what they did to Kate and Edwina (especially on her video post about the sister soulmate stuff). Okay yes she signed off all rights, if one should do that is another debate (i wouldn’t ) but do you think she regrets it? Because it doesn’t feel that way. Makes me resent her a bit tbh.
Ask Dated: 31st July 2022
I can't quite remember what may have prompted this ask but probably them feeling the same way I felt about S2.
While yes Simone and Jonny's chemistry and some acting choices/scene and tone changes saved the season, I still felt robbed of my favourite lines and scenes from the book not being adapted. And of course how they massacred my favourite book family, The Sheffields/Sharmas. We really could have seen a healthy and loving Indian family of women instead we got the same toxic shit I grew up in.
Anyway, to answer your main question anon, I have a feeling the Netflix/Shondaland check was big enough for JQ to sell her soul and writer's integrity. If she did care, she hasn't shown it one bit. Or alternatively her lack of enthusiasm for Kate, The Sharmas and Kathony now that Kate is an Indian woman, can be a sign of expressing her disappointment in the colour blind cast. I mean before the show was announced (and old time Bton fans feel free to correct me), Kathony (and TVWLM) and Polin (and RMB) were her favourite couples and books to hype up. Ever since Simone was announced as Kate, she did the bare minimum talking about her and has ignored Kate in favour of her fave and only white tv couple (so far). So take what you will from that.
There are a few articles out here where JQ kind of does mental gymnastics to justify all the big changes to S2 which I thought were cop out answers. [Note: it is almost 4am as I am writing this and I am a little tired to find for her exact quotes but if I come across them I'll link at a later time but for now Google is your bestie!]
I did find that she stipulating that *only* the Pall Mall scene could not be changed at all, really dumb in hindsight. Because the way they shot and edited that scene was super lame (there was barely any tension visually - Jimone was carrying the tension and rivalry of the scene and match) and there was SO MANY MORE important scenes and characterisations that made TVWLM so popular and beloved and nothing else mattered to her???
I will admit; while I LOVE the OG Bee Scene, I liked the new one too. I just wish they had gotten married earlier. Also of course the new accident scene is superior. But it still does not make up for how badly they fumbled the Sharmas, cutting out their backstories and then giving away an whole useless hour to the Featherflops. DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE TWO WEDDINGS THAT WEREN'T EVEN KATE'S!!!
I really wanna know how much she was paid to just go along with everything because even Rick Riordan was able to express his disdain with the Percy Jackson movies!! I think at this point, its safe to say its enough money to make her turn a blind eye to all the horrid changes and not regret anything. It even is enough to make her eat her words about not being able to write characters of colour (will expand more in the next ask) but now suddenly after all these years, she can write a romance novel centred on a Black heroine. I guess characters of colour are only worth writing if she can profit off them. It makes me resent her too anon.

heyyy! i was wondering if you liked the os2 episodes of bbts!!! i noticed you shared some stuff regarding the first two episodes. did you enjoy eps 3 and 4 as well?
i never get asks, this is so exciting??? (probably because i don't actually spend enough time on tumblr...i was kind of starting to be on here a bit and then got depressed by a lot of the negative reactions to @end-otw-racism during their first action. but tbh getting an ask actually makes me want to engage more so THANK YOU ANON)
okay, my os2 feelings! i talked about this a bit on my twitter so i'm going to recreate some of that here, haha. but the short version is: yes, i enjoyed the whole thing! i think episode one was my favorite because i lovedddd the patpran dynamic we got there - watching pran be confident but also settled in love felt amazing to me, and i loved the little domestic notes. i think my second-favorite episode was actually the last one - not so much because i think it was a well-constructed episode (it was a little all over the place, tbh), but i ADORED the phutian ending after having felt like their relationship was getting kind of shafted for most of the special. also we got to see inkpa again!
it's hard to talk about my own feelings though about it without reflecting on the disappointment a lot of people i know have felt about the special. and i certainly understand and agree with a LOT of the critiques, they are completely valid. but i guess i'll explain a bit more about why i liked the special anyway.
firstly, i think i came into it with the feeling that because bbs is such a perfect narrative, anything we got in os2 would be a bonus, and that i could take or leave the parts i liked and didn't like to apply to my own personal love of bbs - especially since it did take place in the timeskip instead of the ending. and i especially felt this way because of knowing that there was a crossover with atots.
i think that one of the issues with crossovers in general is they force shows to draw kind of contrived parallels between characters and pairings. and similarly i think crossovers require characters to be matched up in scenes together just so you see their contrasts. so that's why we had to have two separate nights of lost in the woods, so that we could get pran & phupha as well as tian & pat. could they have done better with making parallels that made more sense for both couples? sure. but i wasn't totally surprised that the crossover parts felt clunky/over-worked. i also think crossovers prioritize humorous moments over character-building ones. they're just really not a good vehicle for storytelling imo - they're more just about seeing your faves up on screen together.
as far as patpran's conflict in these episodes - again, totally valid & understandable that people are upset & feel like it was unresolved! for me, though, it felt like a pretty natural part of their progression as a couple. my friend @/siri_dechawat on twitter has a great thread about it that i totally agree with. and also i think it's worth thinking about how long patpran's history is, how many old hurts they still have that probably aren't fully resolved. i was once in a relationship that reminds me of that, a relationship that had six years of fraught history before it got happy, and my recollection is that by the time you get to the place where you're secure in that kind of relationship, you don't always revisit those old hurts because you have the feeling that now you're happy, so why look back so much? but they can still flare up and it can be hard to talk about them, so you try to work through them yourself and that isn't always easy.
to me, the fact that patpran kept up a lot of their usual dynamic - teasing, competing, cuddling, even while they're in the middle of a fight - felt very organic. they can't always say exactly what they're feeling, but they still express affection. and for me, the fact that they were having this fight at all about pran's independence & pat's self-sacrifice wasn't at all going backwards from the original show. the second half of bbs doesn't actually have them resolving a lot of those things out loud.
at the end of the day, while this is the last time we'll see patpran onscreen (sob), it's not their ending. it's not even the ending that we see of them. we know where they end up by ep 12 and it's pretty perfect imo. and the fact that they are not always perfect at communicating along the way is okay with me. we know they end up on the same page (ha) even if these episodes had some conflict around that. we know where their love is.
okay i said all this and i stand by it, but also if you have read any of my fic you know that i LOVE writing canon-divergence AUs, so i did a series of them for os2 as well based on prompts i got on twitter! i ended up with twelve separate "what if" scenarios for how various scenes in the special could have gone differently - just episodes one through three, because i wasn't as much in a writing mood after the last one - and i collected them together in an ao3 post called in another lifetime. i think my favorite ones within there are mountain, a h/c ficlet patpran do actually make it up pha pun dao, and secrets, an extension of the last patpran scene in episode three. so if you were unsatisfied by various scenes in the special, maybe you will like these as fix-its? :D? anyway thank you again anon for the ask!!!! maybe i will try to be on tumblr more again...

white lotus s2 finale rundown
(spoilers ahead)
in case you're wondering, here are the characters that survived the second season: Daphne and Cameron (the supposed scammers, played by Meghann Fahy and Theo James) Harper and Ethan Spiller (the couple on the rocks, played by Aubrey Plaza and Will Sharpe) Albie, Dominic and Bert Di Grasso (all of the men who were on some sort of heritage trip, played by Adam DiMarco, Michael Imperioli and F. Murray Abraham) Portia (Tanya's assistant, who gets whisked away to Sicily, played by Haley Lu Richardson) Jack (the supposed nephew of the head gay, played by Leo Woodall) Valentina, and the rest of the hotel staff (she's the director of this location, who is played by Sabrina Impacciatore) Lucia and Mia, my problematic faves (both of whom use their bodies to get what they want, and the only non guests involved, played by Simona Tabasco and Beatrice Grannó) presumably Greg, Tanya's husband who we met last season in Hawai'i (played by Jon Gries) although we don't have any confirmation of this fact
that means the dead characters are: Tanya McQuoid, Quentin, Didier and Niccoló (played by Jennifer Coolidge, Tom Hollander, Bruno Gouery [from Emily in Paris] and Stefano Gianino), putting the death toll at 4. it is not told whether or not Hugo or the captain of the boat survived, but I would personally doubt it, because they did seem significantly far out from the shore. in the end, I'm sure only mike white knows for sure.
now, let's talk about that season finale.
first off, I'm wondering if greg actually was planning something, or if tanya blew it out of proportion in some way. I guess we'll never know, although there were definitely some red flags, especially with the way that jack was acting.
let's talk about jack for a second. I'm so happy that he redeemed himself in my eyes, and let portia go and even gave her advice that probably saved her life. who knows what might've happened if portia went back to the hotel? I'm a jack fan at the end of this season, because the guy was just doing what he could with the cards he was dealt, but didn't want to actively hurt someone (because if tanya had gotten hurt, he would've been peripherally involved, but wouldn't have played a direct part in her demise)
the digrassos. I feel like they could've used some comeuppance, apart from albie. it sucks that dominic will probably just go back to what he's been doing, and that albie vouched for his dad. I feel like the fact that none of these men have been affected by their experiences is shown in the airport scene, where a young woman walks by and they all turn their heads to ogle her. I think it shows that this gross misogyny kind of runs in their family (because they kind of perpetuate it) and that it would be hard for them to change without serious introspection.
super happy for valentina. did mia use her? sure. but it was definitely mutually beneficial, and mia does say that she wants to help valentina find a lesbian, and even take her out to bars, so I foresee a prosperous future for valentina. also gotta say, small win for the gays because valentina wasn't killed at the end of this season.
isabella and rocco seem fine. I'm happy that Isabella was always so polite to valentina, and I think she genuinely wanted to be friends with her, so a good future for these two and hopefully they have a good life.
ethan nearly chokes cameron, and I am so unhappy that cameron lives at the end of the season. I think it would be cool to have a cameo from daphne next season, where she is ending her stay at a white lotus with her trainer and her sons, and we just assume that she killed cameron or something. I am happy for ethan and harper, but it seems like a bandaid on their situation, so I'm not sure what the future looks like for these couples. I do think their stories could have been wrapped up better, and I wonder if mike white found himself burdened by the inclusion of so many characters this season, because the ending did not seem as closed as season one.
lucia and mia are doing well, lucia has loads of money that she got after scamming albie, and mia has a job at the white lotus as a singer, so good for them. I could care less about albie, and as he says, that amount is a drop in the bucket for his father anyway. I also think it is legitimate karmic payment, that dominic will inadvertently help the lives of these two women after destroying the lives of the women in his family. I'm also happy that lucia and mia live, because I think there is a trend in media where promiscuous women are killed because of their promiscuity, so seeing them live was super endearing. especially since lucia says earlier in the season that she's worried that she will die because she's a prostitute, and prostitutes always die.
I'm kind of happy for portia, but I can't help but compare her to belinda. it feels kind of significant that one of these characters was a guest and the other an employee, and that one was white and the other was black, in terms of where they ended up. I do think the show could've paralleled their arcs better in this finale, and driven home the point that portia was coming from a point of privilege, and that's why she survived and got off relatively easy.
what was the point of including the story of the woman from the moors? who was that supposed to represent after the finale? my guess was tanya, but I don't think we'll get a follow up on her storyline, so the symbolism here doesn't really work. also, if it was tanya, the story is backwards, because she dies and the cheating spouse doesn't. is the point of the statues that this was the path one of the main couples was heading down, and then the statue breaking is a subversion, and their story won't end in tragedy? honestly, I have no idea.
I'm happy that tanya died. I was getting tired of her character, and I was scared that if she survived this season mike white would bring her back for season three, and I think the series will work better without through lines or continuing stories, and instead focuses on the only point of contact being the white lotus resorts.
I'm happy that the piano guy is gone. he wasn't that interesting, and I'm happy for mia.
greg, will we ever see him again? will we get a conclusion to his story?
it's really ironic that tanya ends up killing herself, because if greg was after her money, he's got it now. I would like to see greg get comeuppance, because I think he sucks.
just like greg, I feel like cameron didn't get his comeuppance, but I guess we might have to wait for another season to see if anything bad comes to him.
I feel kind of bad for the group of gays, but I also don't. I have mixed feelings about their group, and my thoughts about their ending are still developing. I do think that it's possible tanya overreacted and killed a bunch of people who didn't have completely nefarious intentions. this is another storyline that could've used a defter hand, because it feels incomplete.
I do think that it's weird that there is a kind of bury your gays going on with the show, considering that armond is the only death in season one (and we're shown that he's gay) and then we have two of the gays dying in this season. I doubt these are white's intentions, but it is kind of weird to look at this together, and I think the next season will cement the trends of the show.
final thoughts:
I would rate this season maybe a 6 or 6.5 out of 10. it was not as good as the first, however it was possibly more entertaining than the first. I think involving so many characters made it harder to have satisfying story beats for all of them, and loads of people online have pointed out that there is not a lot of interaction between the guests, or even that a lot of important plot points aren't taking place at the hotel. the first season seemed a lot more focused in its scope. I do believe that the show was intended to be a limited series, and I think it should have stayed that way, because I think it will only get worse as it goes on, when it could've ended on a high note last season. I'm down to watch the third season and see if mike white can redeem himself, and because there are a lot of technical aspects of the show that I enjoy, but I'm not eagerly anticipating it like I am other good shows like succession.
I do hope that mike white finds a way to tie up all of the loose ends of this season somehow, but I think all of the loose ends and dropped story beats really cheapened this season. it also makes me think that season one was lightning in a bottle that he will never be able to replicate.
anyway, a pretty disappointing follow up.

Staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan (pls) (for the ask thing i mean asdfghjkl;)
lmao ty - lemme do this a sec
1: sexuality headcanon
The boy is bi. Don't ask me how I feel it with such certainty, but I feel it. Also not sexuality, but potentially enby and I feel that in my soul.
2: otp
If I were to put him romantically with someone, I guess Kyle? Those two have a bond that is too adorable however you cut it. I've always had a soft spot for close male friendships in stories goofy or serious, it seems (Egg moment? Egg moment...you don't exactly get that in life when you look like a girl lmao)
3: brotp
Besides Kyle, I'm hoping we'll see more of him and Tolkien hanging out fr. Honestly, I think it would be too niche for an episode but like imagine those two getting Kyle into Warhammer. It would be funny.
4: notp
Sorry, but Wendy can do better. Like maybe they could be friends, and I'm never gonna object to art of the two of them but she really shouldn't stay with him lmao. She's 10 but like...surely even she knows the truth here lmao
5: first headcanon that pops into my head
You know what? He's going to be the second character ever that I claim eats peanut butter with a spoon directly from the jar. That headcanon is so specific and pointless that it's funny. The other one with that honor is one I used to RP from another show back when that was airing (and if you ask certain family members is literally me - someone I know might be reading knows who, but I'll leave the rest of you to guess). In Stan's case, I like to think that Shelley is very vocal about how much it pisses her off and wonders why he can't just make a sandwich lmao.
My other bitter headcanon is the feeling that Matt and Trey are going to keep his family on Tegridy for as long as possible because it's funny to them (both in terms of writing and fan reaction), but honestly kinda breaks my heart that he lives so far from the other three little guys right now.
6: favorite line from this character
Another time where I legitimately cannot think of a single line (but instead many), so I'm just going to embed this because honestly everyone kind of slayed in this scene and I guess technically it's an answer:
youtube
7: one way in which I relate to this character
I was about to say I'd probably have an easier time listing ways I could relate him to other people in my life - there's a couple of people I could think a lot more than myself for - but then realized there are multiple non-bad-but-just-embarrassing things I would decline to state here lmao. The joys of having a character be one of the "normal" ones, I suppose.
That being said, we're both depressed af and 10 years old was a time and a half for me mentally; so I guess that. Finishing YGO/Assburgers both made me like him as a character more and had me staring into silence for like five minutes contemplating my life on an existential level for many reasons lmao
Also growing up, I was known for liking animals and didn't want any to suffer without cause. In my case, I got super obsessed with the RSPCA and I would get called brave by girls at school at the tender age of 8 for touching worms to rescue them from drowning in pavement puddles. idk why this was considered brave, as I was in no way scared to touch worms. Lately it's been making me think that I'd like to get a pet snail again, or at least go outside a bit more again since I've always regretted feeling like I couldn't after I lost a lot of hope in my life.
8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character
I often say he sometimes needs a hug, but sometimes needs someone to absolutely slap him because he can pull some serious dick moves that make me die a little inside. I feel like if someone were to compare me to him, some of the times where I think he deserved someone slapping him would be the reason somehow and I would be offended but understand lmao
9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?
He's a little problematic, like all of us lmao

Venting about BNHA 362
Ok, I don’t believe for even a second that Bakugou is dead so I’m not gonna rant about that. There were a few writing pet peeves in this chapter that I want to point out and one of them is his “death” scene, but my reason for being upset is different from what most are commenting about.
Where did it come from? Previous chapters showed his arm and face injured, but if he had a potentially fatal injury you would think someone would mention it. And why the focus on him watching the fight intently like he was gonna try and get back in there? From what I understand of the spoilers, he just gets up and is like “Oh. Guess I’m dying.” That doesn’t make sense and felt like it was just for shock value. Maybe when the chapter comes out it’ll make more sense but right now it feels like a shock value thing which is pretty cheap.
Update: We got a clearer explanation of the chapter so Bakugou’s “death” makes way more sense now. Still don’t think he’s actually dead and the rest of what I’m saying below still applies.
But the thing that really makes me upset from what I’ve heard of the chapter is The Big 3! I’ve said it plenty of times before but they are the only reason I’m giving BNHA the time of day. They we done SO dirty this chapter. What was the point of the buildup? Horikoshi was building them up to a big moment. He was hyping Tamaki up having them mention his quirk not having a limit, and then they make his big attack absolutely useless. I know they weren’t going to beat Shigaraki because they’re not the main characters, but they were hyped up to the point that it seemed like they would play a role in weakening him so Midoriya could help him.
People might say it’s to show how dangerous Shigaraki is, but that leads into how I can’t stand when a character becomes TOO overpowered. Create an overpowered villain and only the overpowered hero can deal ANY damage to them. It’s something that I’m tired of seeing in series. It’s far better to have characters work together to overcome an enemy rather than narrowing it down to one to two people who are of any use. Shigaraki tanking a plasma cannon to the face is so annoying. At least make it so he dodged it at the very last second.
I know everyone has their own opinion so some people will think differently from me and that’s okay. A lot of Bakugou fans are upset as they should be. I know he’ll come back so I’m upset for my faves. Maybe when the chapter comes out it will be a little better. Who knows at this point.

hii petri! for ship bingo, your favorite ship from kinnporsche and/or your favorite ship from the untamed?
mint, i know you wanted to give me choice and creative freedom and i appreciate it so much but my gOSH am i not the person to do that for 😂 not only do i rarely have favourites of anything but i have to figure out my emotions for these unnamed blorbos? this is how you end up with five answers for the price of one ✨
so, for kinnporsche i came to the conclusion i have two - one for the earlier part of the show and one for the last episodes (i think the green is..fairly obvious)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
first one is the men themselves who made me feel so many things throughout the show and turnt it into the amazing experience it was for me, watching them learn how to understand each other and open up, the tender scenes, the chemistry, following the discussions on here about kinn and his trust issues (omg especially around the tawan episodes, that was crazy) - their journey was so much fun!
the second one..what can i say, vegaspete were what everyone seemed to anticipate and i was kinda neutral until their episodes actually hit, then i went insane lmao, i just love pathetic men and "only i understand him, only i can tame him" type of stuff - i got plenty of that and some top notch chemistry and they were what made the last episodes for me
onto the untamed.. i don't like thinking about it too much because one cql viewing later i'm a broken woman, i do not understand how people watch it more than once and choose to actively think about it, write analyses, delve into the lore - i'm not built like you guys and you have my respect 💕 all of that is to say i dont think bout the ships too much either, i picked these as faves because they had a certain smth
I don't think anyone could possibly guess what the three couples are they're - not the most popular 😂 except for wangxian, those are my babies:
Tumblr media
the next one is jiang cheng with... *drums*
Tumblr media
...wen qing 🥰 i didn't ship them as divorced until i saw the option and decided that yes, they would be so amazing as divorced parents or smth and i would read about it for sure; not the comb, not the post-war conversations - that inn scene always comes to mind, it feels like a checkpoint at which you could take a different route and change the outcome, a spot where you can stop and think "what if"... jiang cheng before the weight of zidian, the only thing of importance at the moment - his brother's safety... wen qing with only her brother to look out for, testing how far she'd go for an outsider while risking everything... or, y'know, i just find the scene fun, smart and rewatchable 🤷‍♀️ they're a very interesting ship for me cause i don't mind them not being together, either way is fine and makes sense and i never really feel this way about ships i care about, they usually HAVE to be together y'know but with these two i just have many thoughts and feelings that don't actually make me go crazy which is so refreshing
and the one ship that i'm not sure i even ship but b o y they make me feel things...
Tumblr media
...xiao xingchen and xue yang YES I KNOW, still to this day am not sure about some story details lol that whole arc left me shaken to my core and i've worked on forgetting it so it took a while to even remember they exist .. anyways, they found home in each other and could've been happy but they are who they are and they acted how they acted and that's that :) also my feels on song lan (and him with xiao xingchen) are mixed but this might be the one triangle i can see myself enjoying as a throuple.. i avoided stuff about that whole psychological horror arc so stuff that could sway me in any particular direction haven't been encountered in a while ✨

Hello my love! Hope you’re enjoying all the VV screaming so far! How about Not Me for the TV show ask game? Have a great day Vish! 💙
yeah am not sure if i will ever be fine again bc this has twisted something in my brain but thank you ♥ expect me to scream until eternity from now on
but to give you some thoughts on not me! here goes:
favorite male character:
it's always me trying to decide between sean and yok but i guess i just gotta stop fooling myself and say sean. he has always been my boy and will always be. he has the vish stamp on him aka he's prickly, aggressive, and an asshole until you get to know him, and then he's just lonely, hurt, and in need of some serious loving ♥
Tumblr media
favorite female character:
namo . i was drawn to her the moment she got introduced bc i thought she was cool. she felt confident, loved her art, and could handle a (best) friend like sean. i admire her and what she's doing and i still think about the scene where sean comes to her after getting beaten by black and she gives him comfort but also tells him to go fuck himself. i could've done without the romantic aspect of her and sean's relationship bc i thought they were amazing as friends but i also ended up loving her sassiness and how she handled that whole mess.
Tumblr media
least favorite character:
black and white's parents. i am truly a member of the fuck shitty parents club. truly just cannot stand that at all.
prettiest character:
once again it is very hard to choose bc they are all very beautiful! and i feel like i could pick several but then again, 'pretty' is a very defining word. if it were sexy, i'd say todd. if it were beautiful, i'd say sean or white. if it were cute, i'd say gram or even gumpa bc i find his smile adorable :'D but bc it's 'pretty" specifically, i think i'll say yok. especially when he's smiling. he is so pretty ♥
Tumblr media
funniest character:
oh boy. not me is a comedy first and foremost if yall haven't realized. it's so damn funny. i cannot even pick the funniest moment in it :'D but i guess if i gotta choose the funniest character i'll say our resident clown white ♥ he is ridiculously comedic, especially in the beginning.
favorite episode:
i really gotta say ep 7 even if it's a big cliche. i just remember how filled with love i was at the end of that. the rainbow flag scene keeps making me choke up with feeling. i just kept thinking, "damn. that's what pride is about. i want to feel that pure joy again." i am happy i get to go to our local pride this weekend ♥
Tumblr media
favorite romantic ship:
seanwhite ♥ of course it's gotta be them. i just adore them and how they fit together. i am weak for the "cold/angry/prickly character meets one kind soul and melts" -trope. i knew i was gone for them the moment i saw sean seeking comfort in his sleep from white's arms.
favorite family ship:
i have to mention yok and his mother here bc they were wonderful. i also want to mention gumpa bc i consider him all of their collective dad and i love him for it ♥ but of course my real answer is our twins. i love them so much. all the care and love and pain and hurt and tragedy in them ♥
Tumblr media
favorite friendship:
i adore all of the dynamics within the gang and i always hope we could've seen more of them. my absolute favorite is of course the friendship between my two fave boys aka our chaos bffs sean and yok. their dynamic was just so good! just true besties ♥
worst ship:
gjslgkdfg maybe whatever was going with gramgene?? truly could never get into that. like yeah sure, good for you two but also??? you had other options??? polyamory is a valid path to take ya know
thank you so much for this mimi ♥ i hope you slept well and have a good rest of your week ^^
leave a tv show or a movie in my ask box and i'll tell you things!

Yeah. And it was nice to see them all together like that instead of separate. And thank you for the consideration. Also, I’ll say now since that I’ve started the manga, it’s an okay adaptation. Like in my mind it’s like a Sparknotes version of what happens in the manga because it skips over some things that even happened in the earlier chapters just so that they could do the main plot they wanted to do. Like I think I’m at what happened in episode 5 and there are so many more scenes that I’m glad I got to see.
Yeah. I checked and technically it’s one movie and two specials. Like ‘The Book of Murder’ (which is actually based on the Phantomhive Manor Murders arc) is two long episodes and then the next one is a movie based on he next arc. Man voices Charles Grey if you’re curious. And fair enough. The manga is better, especially since the second season was something else. And I don’t think it’s ended yet. My friend is a huge fan of the series so she’ll probably tell me when it comes to an end. Also, since we’re talking about Black Butler, Yata’s VA did Grelle which was also very nice to hear.
Thank you. It’s just my own standards I guess 😅 True. That’s how I always am after all even though I do tend to look forward to replies from you and other people I talk to. And cool. I saw that you said some stuff and will also reply to that once I’ve typed everything I have to out. And it’s nice that you finally have the time to do so 😃 And that’s great to hear that you’re ahead of schedule. Your break is more than deserved then.
It is and so fun. Yeah. Definitely. I hope if I do write something, I can properly put it in. Hopefully my ideas are vague enough that it doesn’t have to come to it. Or in another turn, which I very much doubt, I might be far enough not to be spoiled too much by what you say 😅 But yeah, I’ll be curious to see what you have to say about them once I get around to sending them. Yeah. I will do that since you gave me the perfect opportunity to do so. I’ve still got to clear it all up and write something you asked me to do so I’ll do that and will give you what my brain has given me. I see. That’s nice. I wonder whether my opinion will change on Licht as I read more of the manga.
I’m sorry to hear that you have to wait that long. And what kind of other places are there where you have to fight to get a copy of you prescription? And yeah, same. Like we have a reasonably big TV but I still always have to go quite close to it whenever I’m not wearing my glasses to properly see what’s going on. Thank you. And so true about music. It’s a beautiful thing to exist. Sure thing.
Oh I see. And it makes sense. The summary of Deadman Wonderland sounded quite gruesome so it’s bound to get quite graphic at times. I see. It’s been many years ago that I read the Bleach manga so I just remember vague things here and there so I didn’t really realise it was that bad of an adaptation. But that’s really interesting to know. Number One will also be forever one of my faves, even though I don’t listen to it often and yeah, I also remember the dub being good so that’s also nice. And I see. Manga’s are good for minor characters. Yeah. Thank you so much and hope the same to you 😁

I'm glad it was nice and helpful! And now that you've started the manga (which YAY!), it's really interesting to see your general opinions of it and that they do match what the others were saying and even my own belief that there's enough scenes that didn't get animated to really justify starting it from the beginning. I'm so happy you're enjoying it and that, wow, you're already so far into the manga! I wish you lots of happiness as you continue to go along (even happiness in the more angsty sections haha, because angst can be fun).
And thank you for that information. I really hadn't known that they made specials out of the Phantomhive Manor Murders arc, though that one I just might watch because I had really enjoyed that particular arc of the manga and am curious as to the voices they would have gotten for some of the characters that were introduced. I'm glad to hear some agreement that the manga is better…it was just a really beautiful manga to me, art-wise, and I really couldn't get even the subtle differences in the art to make it easier to animate, so I didn't even want to try the anime. But I have heard a lot of people say the second season of the anime was just absolutely wild and messed up and, if what I've heard is true, it's not even really all that connected to the manga? And that's surprising to me, that Yata's voice is also Grelle's. That voice actor really does do a lot of roles, and voices really a wide range of character types and I am here for it.
Aww, it's always nice to hear that people look forward to my replies. In my mind, there's always that thought of 'well, now that I've written an entire frigging novel to them, that's probably the last I'll hear from them' because my replies are always so long and chatty. And no rush at all to reply, truly. Just as I appreciate people letting me take the time to reply, I'll always give everyone else that time. I believe this is the last inbox reply I have left, though I have a post to reblog and reply to, since I was tagged and asked for my thoughts. After that, I'll openly admit it'll probably be another week or so before I get back to replying to dm's and inbox chatter, since I'll be focusing on getting post replies out and staying caught up and on schedule. Plus, there are some asks that I'm just so excited to write and, as mentioned, I'm beyond ecstatic to be giving myself some time, once I'm all caught up on the older stuff, to work on my passion projects!
I hope for that for you too! And honestly, with the speed you're catching up, and the speed with which I reply to things, there is that possibility that you'll have gotten your answers or my answers won't be spoilers at all haha. I look forward to reading them but again, please take your time. And I apologize again for asking you to take the time to write up something extra for me, but thank you so much for doing that. And I am also curious as to whether the manga will make you like Licht a little more or dislike him more. I feel he's a lot more fleshed out in the manga and you get to see more of him and Lawless interacting, which makes me really happy.
And honestly, I'm used to waiting that long. It's about a three to four week to get even a phone appointment with my general practitioner, so waiting that long for a more specialized doctor is generally expected around where I live, because health-care workers are in short supply in Canada overall but especially the general clump of provinces I live in. And certain eye doctors, if they have a shop attached to their office that sells glasses, will definitely fight with you about you needing your prescription because they really want you to buy your frames and lenses from them, as it's where they make the most of their money. An optometrist operates in tandem with the Vogue Optical here, but I refuse to go with them as they won't hand over my glasses prescription to me, they just send it to Vogue and make me buy the crazy expensive frames from there so I go with the one optometrist in this area whose office has no eyeglasses store associated with it. And I admit I have a second-hand, beat up, smaller television. It's less than 40" so reading subs on it is impossible unless I'm super close haha. But it still works and has great sound quality and a lot of ports so I won't give it up haha.
And yeah, Deadman Wonderland got really graphic in the fight scenes but there was a lot of hard and heavy stuff in characters backstories that would need to be censored or taken out for the series to be on television so honestly, I do think it's better as a manga and enjoy the manga quite a bit. And yes, Number One is fantastic! It's in my music library, but that's easily over 3-4,000 songs so I get to hear it once in a while, whenever it comes up on shuffle. And I will say, all of the classic Big 3, other than the horrific experience of the 4kids dub, all had really good dubs done for them! And thank you :)
