Toothpaste companies must really hate people who are allergic to mint toothpaste, which a lot of people are! Apparently it's NOT supposed to burn like minty hellfire? (I'm fine with mint candy, it's only mint toothpaste that hurts)
I've been using Tom's fennel for years, but am now trying to find one with fluoride in it, and finding a toothpaste that is no mint and yes fluoride should not be such a huge and infuriating quest. still got some more grocery stores to search, but not even the children's toothpaste in the nearest one had any that were suitable.
Edit: Hey you don't need to keep copying out the tags, I wrote all the Minty Hellfire lyrics here. And then someone recorded them here.
Also, I think it might technically be a sensitivity rather than an allergy, but whatever it is, toothpaste is not supposed to hurt! If it's burning then that's bad and you should try to find a new one if possible!

“Rationing Of Sugar Works Well,” Kingston Whig-Standard. March 28, 1942. Page 2. ---- “Everyone is cooperating to the fullest extent" was the comment of a well-known local grocer, when asked yesterday afternoon how the sugar rationing was faring now the public have had time to get over any “shock" or novelty which might have attended the sugar regulations when first instituted.
“People have been very very nice,” said the shopkeeper, “with housewives obeying the law splendidly."
During the past six weeks’ period, he said he had not sold more than 10 bags of sugar all told or about 160 pounds a week. This he felt was a negligible amount in view of the number of per sons dealing at his store.
Remarks Verified Another grocer verified the above remarks. It was stated in many cases personally had themselves voluntarily cut down on the amount of sugar they normally used.
Wholesalers are well stocked with sugar and there is plenty to go around. The possibility of ration cards for sugar at this time was definitely discounted.
The grocers pointed out they were rigidly enforcing the regulations and had no trouble in doing so due to the co-operation received from the public.

Animal of the Day!
Green Grocer Cicada (Cyclochila australasiae)
Tumblr media
(Photo in Public Domain)
Conservation Status- Unlisted
Habitat- Southeastern Australia
Size (Weight/Length)- 4 cm
Diet- Tree sap
Cool Facts- Called a green grocer when green in color and a yellow monday when yellow, these cicadas are one of the loudest insects in the world. They create a piercing buzz noise by flexing their timbal ribs along their carapace, their call reaching up to 120 decibels. After repeated exposure to a noise this loud, people can experience hearing loss. Of course, the green grocer uses its call to attract mates with louder calls being the most attractive. These cicadas live up to seven years with the majority of their lives spent underground as nymphs. Only their last six weeks of life are spent in their adult form.
Rating- 12/10 (Only 20 decibels quieter than a jet engine.)

Sketchbook as of late.
I'm very slowly and agonizingly trying to teach myself game design to make an 18th century point and click adventure, and also continuing to transition.

The most recent episode of PJO
Okay aside from the BRILLIANT parallels of Medusa and Annabeth, and Percy literally pushing her down the stairs—Percy constantly insisting that you shouldn’t have to earn love from anyone! And your parents especially!
The change to have Percy knowingly sacrifice himself—for Annabeth’s mistake from her pov—and refusing to ask his father for help and then be saved?
Poseidon reaffirming that Percy does NOT need to earn his love. That he will help him because he loves him and Percy is his child!
And the parallel of Percy and Thalia and therefore Poseidon and Zeus—that when Zeus’s forbidden child sacrificed herself the best he could do was turn her into a tree (a hero’s end) while Poseidon saves Percy?
I truly believe this is Sally’s influence on Poseidon—not that he’s saving Percy because he loved her, but that her humanity and insistence on love and goodness (which she passed to Percy) made him realize that the gods needed to do things differently.
He is as changing as the sea, and it’s only natural that Athena—rigid, strategic, orderly Athena—be his counter part.
This series feels like Riordan has been stewing on his books for nearly 20 years and came up with so many little details he wished he could have added. There are so many more narrative details that really enhance the “epic” of the story and make me think of the structure of Ancient Greek plays—the chorus is just chanting “love is given, not earned”
Percy has NO REASON to trust his dad and Poseidon said I love you regardless. I will help you. I will give you a reason to trust me.
