About the 'Creature's appearence' Discourse

SIDE 1:

"Why do adaptations always make the Frankenstein's Creature so ugly?! Victor said in the book he only selected the most beautiful and simmetrical human parts to build him! There was clearly something uncanny and unnatural about the Creature's appearence since, you know, he was still a 8-foot tall guy with yellow skin and creepy yellow eyes, but it doesn't really mean he was aesthethically ugly!"

SIDE 2:

"Uh have any of you truly read the book?! The Creature's described multiple times, by Frankenstein, Walton and himself, as a hideous, mummy-like and deformed being! His yellow skin was translucent enough to see the veins and arteries in his body! Victor TRIED to make him beautiful but the huge constrast between all those parts put together only made him look even more scary! It was his monstrous appearence that caused every people he met to react in extreme violence towards him!"

Basically, my point is: In the end of the day, everyone will have their own image of how our baby Creech looked in the novel and their favorite depiction of the character.

I don't expect my post to end this endless discourse, but I think I need to remind some people that all the interpretations of the Creature (and Frankenstein in general) are totally valid (one of the things that makes this story and fandom so amazing) and just because someone see things differently from you, it doesn't mean the other person is wrong or idiot.

Wolfram can emit an extremely powerful high—or low pitch of vibration that can be focused into energy if he screams or raises his voice. Wolfram can shatter objects, break surfaces and propel people backwards or off balance. The scream can shatter eardrums if used violently but is not otherwise deadly even when used with force, though prolonged use may result in headaches and nausea for everyone involved!!

On Nullivi: He can speak, has an accent, and feels very odd about it because he can be loud and incredibly awkward, prone to rambling.

Limitations:

Wolfram can change the pitch of the scream but not the damage done: this means that he cannot speak, sing, laugh for example, without repercussions.

Wolfram can only cover a few yards at most. Due to the physiology of his anatomy, his voice will always produce a pitch of above a soft tone (laughing loudly, singing, speaking, etc but not coughing or whistling.)

Wolfram must have good aim or risk shattering someone else’s eardrums, or his own if the sound bounces off something unsuspecting.

Must have good balance so he doesn’t fling himself over.

Personality:

Wolfram is an extrovert: despite being shy because of his quiet voice and anomaly, he thrives on being around others and socializing, partying and playing around and exploring new places. He is adventurous and athletic but cannot play sports in large groups due to the nature of his anomaly. He uses sign language or a notes app on his phone if he doesn’t want to risk speaking but can also whisper or speak in a low tone to avoid hurting others’ ears. He has a thick accent and so does his Voice AI. Wolfram was homeschooled for a good portion of his life so he can be a little awkward. He tends to run on the laid back side and is sensitive but will probably physically defend himself before using his Scream as a last resort.

Dearest Fashion Icon Nat, can you please share your online clothes shopping recommendations? It looks like we have similar proportions (short, very curvaceous), and I am *struggling* to find pretty dresses that accommodate my large bust and don’t fit like a garbage bag. Please help me not look like a slob!

VNJKSFN i can share my favourite places, but i cannot guarantee that they will match the Aesthethic! my personal favourite thing to buy are vintage reproduction stuff because they're generally cut to help with hourglass/pear shaped with lots of room in the bust and i like the shape of them! some of my personal favourites;

(i also do occasionally buy from shein and places like that. whilst i know they're not exactly ethical, being reasonably poor and fat it is occasionally my only option when i need certain styles. i do prefer to buy ethical and well-made clothing when i can, but absolutely no shaming of fat people and people who rely on shein for basics etc here! <3 a fat person making a shein haul twice a year is NOT in the same league re; fast fashion as someone who makes those 'i spent £500 on shein' tiktoks and videos every month). i am lucky that i have been able to amass a collection of some of my admittedly expensive favourite brands by savvy shopping, secondhand shopping and waiting for sales! <3

collectif (go up to a uk 22 but run a little small; their modcloth collabs often go a lot bigger though!) they have an active secondhand selling community and do 50% off sales twice a year, but their quality has gone down lately so i don't recommend getting stuff full price! hell bunny (recently expanded to a uk size 26 although some of their older designs don't go that far!); super cute, well-made, they do a lot of retro and spooky stuff as well as general retro stuff! lots of alternative shops also stock them which is occasionally cheaper than buying direct, definitely check ebay and other local such shops! idk where it is for anyone in the us but if you're in the uk places like rockamilly, damaged society, katesclothing)! joanie go up to a uk 22 and are good if you like vintage inspired but feel embarrassed about full-on rockabilly, they're definitely more subdued! i have no shame but other people may fdgnkjbjkngf. dolly and dotty go up to a uk 26, their quality definitely isn't on par with collectif, for example, but their prices and sale prices are reasonable and they're cute! when i occasionally feel like doing the Goth Thing i buy a lot from killstar! they also go up to a uk 22, i prefer to wait for their sales though bc i think they're a little expensive fgbnkjkjnfg.

here are some Higher End Expense Options, some of these i just. look at longingly.

unique vintage - have their own brand but also resell from brands like collectif and hell bunny, do the cutest licensed collabs, but shipping to the uk is expensive and i find their prices a little much honestly. check size guides for them! the pretty dress company - go up to a uk 20. i don't own anything from them YET but i desperately want to. their stuff always looks incredibly well-made and beautiful. vixen by micheline pitt / la femme en noir - both micheline pitt brands, although la femme en noir is a bit more Classy. i LOVE them. i am eyeing up the yellow edward scissorhands dress wildly. british retro - honorable mention because they only go up to a uk 18 and they do run small. the grey dress in the centre of this post (cw: mean post) is from there and is an 18 and i am lucky in my proportions (reasonably extreme waist/bust/hip difference) so it's definitely not for everyone, but their stuff is really honestly BEAUTIFUL.

My favorite color is purple! but pink is my second favorite. I'd love to see more gifs of colin o donoghue in once upon a time. I play hook in an amazing disney rp group but i haven't gotten the chance to make them myself. i love princess core, pastels and goth i'm a bit of a mix in aesthethics. I love border icons but its hard to find one that fits disney. I'm hoping on a theme or gifs, but i'm not picky i'm happy with anything I recieve
