Lesson One | Welcome to Devildom!
| 1 | Royal Academy of Diavolo
'Where am I...?'
In a dream.
Because there was no other reasonable explanation for the fact that Goh was currently standing dumbfounded in a huge medieval-looking courtroom, being stared at by several men claiming to be demons.
'Demons. Ha.'
Was this a joke? Was he high? Even though he didn’t remember ever taking that kind of substance in his short life, maybe the stifling air of his small room in the university residence had made him dizzy enough to hallucinate things...
''... though we just call it RAD. You're standing inside the assembly hall, the very heart of RAD. This is where we officers of the student council hold our meetings and conduct our business.''
'Officers of... the student council? Is this a school?'
Goh had barely registered one piece of information that ten others popped up and assailed him with nonsense. A demon realm? A prince? What was his name again? Diavolo? One of the other men present explaining to him that Goh had been summoned into the Devildom as an exchange student aiming to complete an exchange program between a Celestial Realm and the human world? A man who actually happened to be Lucifer, Avatar of Pride?
'What the... Wait no, don't come any closer!... Stop talking already... A YEAR!?'
Oh, and now Lucifer (?) was handing him what looked an awful lot like an iPhone − a... D.D.D.? − and was informing him that it would be used to communicate with them and to invoke magic cards via a magic virtual book that would allow him to fight against other demons to strengthen his soul.
'Please, Goh, just wake up already... all this seems way to lucid for me to be reassured that nothing's real.'
...
Looked after by the Avatar of Greed, Lucifer's (?) brother?
Why didn't it sound promising?...
Tumblr media
| 2 | The Seven Brothers
''So, what business does a human got with THE Mammon?''
''You'll... apparently be in charge of me from now on.''
''No way! There's nothin' in it for me.''
Great.
So one of the little brothers of Lucifer (?) had already some beef against him because his older brother obliged him to take care of the human.
The three other men in the courtroom were apparently also siblings of Lucifer (?), the gorgeous champagne-haired being the Avatar of Lust, Asmodeus (?); the passive-aggressive blond, the Avatar of Wrath, Satan (?); the giant and hungry redhead, the Avatar of Gluttony, Beelzebub (?).
'Aren’t Lucifer and Satan supposed to be the same being? Also, those Avatar Lords seem to embody the seven deadly sins, which means there must be two other brothers for envy and sloth…'
Goh had a really hard time trying to correctly understand the situation, and he was still not completly sure whether all this circus was reality, but since taking the phone − the D.D.D. −, he had this uncomfortable feeling that he might not be dreaming.
After all, the device felt pretty real to him.
Heavy, even.
As the presence of the five men (?) around him. He didn't feel extremely safe with them near him, even though Diavolo said that the brothers were going to protect him of potential demons disagreeing with the prince who might try something against him to screw things up.
Thus, Goh would have to live with them in the House of Lamentation.
And thus, Goh needed to collect as much informations as he could. Because if this interdimensional exchange program was his new life − for a whole year −, he needed to be prepared.
Had to be prepared.
Otherwise, there was a possibility that he could never be able to return to his normal life.
And maybe that the courtroom door presently opening would be one of the first danger that he would need to be aware of.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
| 3 | Mammon, Avatar of Greed
Goh was so screwed.
He was definitely not dreaming.
The rush of fear that he felt as Mammon approched him and grabbed his shirt before ordering to give him all his money was way to real to only be a construction of his imagination.
Goh tried hard not to show any emotion, like he'd been doing since he'd become aware of his surroundings, as the tan-skinned and silver-haired demon was threatening to eat him right in front of his face, but it was a bit difficult when a fiery blue-green gaze and a hot breath were assailing him.
He got even more convinced that all what was happening was reality when Lucifer hit Mammon hard enough to let go and to cause him and the human he has been holding to stumble a few steps from the shock of the impact.
At this, Goh couldn't help but surreptitiously widen his eyes, momentarily stunned by the raw strength the demon was capable of displaying.
'I'm going to die. Protected? Hell, those brothers will be the cause of my death!'
Even though he had just been kind of attack − technically, the demon hadn’t touch him −, the human felt a little confused when Satan revealed that Mammon really only cared about the money of someone, not the someone in question, because the bad feeling that was swarming tirelessly in the depths of his gut seemed to lighten a little when Goh's shaken mind had witnessed Mammon's reaction to Asmodeus' derogatory remark : the Avatar of Greed hadn't respond by making use of this threatening aura that Lucifer and Satan had released a little earlier when the latter was presented.
Even though the silver-haired demon obviously cared a lot about money − Satan called it ''grimm'', right? −, the human was able to perceive that he was also capable of restraint.
From the way Mammon's brothers − minus Beelzebub − insulted him without flinching, Goh deduced that this was the usual way of treating the second eldest.
Second eldest who, if one followed a logic of power scale, must have been the second strongest of the siblings, just after Lucifer.
At second glance, Mammon appeared to be a free spirit, thus explaining why he didn't look eager to personally take care of Goh during his stay in the Devildom, but maybe he was really not the worst protector that could be.
'I guess he looks more reasonable and sincere than Satan, Asmodeus or Lucifer... As for Beelzebub, I think that if I don't touch his food, he should leave me alone. Maybe I can survive this... I just have to not get involved in things that don't concern me and I should be fine. I think... I hope.'
''Alright, human, listen up. As much as I don't want to look after you, I've got no choice. So in return, you better make sure you don't cause me any trouble, got it?''
A bit calmer than five minutes ago, Goh took a few seconds to size up his interlocutor, the demon's blue-green eyes glinting mostly with annoyance and resignation, but also with a spark that he could describe as curiosity.
Relaxing his imperturbable expression a little, Goh nodded, thus sealing their future collaboration.
Tumblr media
| 4 | Good Luck
''Humans, angels, demons, I imagine a universe where each accepts the other. Where we are brought together as friends. This is my dream, and I'm asking you to be the foundation for it.''
'Talking about an utopia...'
It wasn't like Goh was mad at them for kidnapping him without any warning only to throw him into this whole new and dangerous world, no : he was just internally furious and worried and so, so lost.
He was just a random university student, with common short and messy brown hair and even more common chocolate brown eyes. He wasn't tall, nor was he small, he wasn't particularly fit − just the right healthy shape to make his body work.
He was a nobody amongst nobodies.
Not even thirty minutes ago, he had been in his campus dorm, reading an anthropology book while trying to not suffocate from the late summer heat − nothing that was most normal and banal in his eyes.
But now...
The human let out a soft, tired sigh, a certain weight hunching his shoulders forward as Mammon guided him out of the room.
Even when he was little, Hugo Yatsurugi had never been the type of boy who believed in fairy tales or monsters under the bed. No, he had always been a down-to-earth, very curious child.
The mysteries of the world had fascinated him for a long time now, and it was human beings that had particularly caught his attention.
After all, what a strange creature this abstract life form was. Coming from the hominid family, humans had progressed from primate to the modern individual that they now boast of having reached in approximately seven million years. A lot of work and transformations to proclaim themselves master of the Earth.
Younger, the brunette had always wondered how the human mind developed and how it was really made. It was his curiosity about psychology and anthropological behavior that led him to study history and observe people. This was how he discovered his ''passion''.
Analyze, decode, then try to help if he could.
Neither Goh nor those around him understood why he had fallen for such a hobby. After all, as a kid, he hadn't been the most sociable of the classes he had been through, content to stay away.
But he seemed to always have had a weak spot for human beings in general. Even though the young man knew full well that the world he lived in was doomed to destruction because of human impetuosity and stupidity, he wanted to be able to relieve his species of the scourge with which it had burdened itself.
As a human himself, Goh had come to believe that nothing and no one could dethrone the superpredator that they were. Obviously, he'd been wrong all along. Angels and demons now had to be added to the balance.
And this reversal of forces changed absolutely everything.
Especially for someone as realist as Goh.
As the human was crossing a paved street, he took advantage of the fact that Mammon was walking a few steps ahead grumbling under his breath, to allow genuine surprise to appear on his face when a bracelet adorned with a pendant representing Capricorn came to life with a will of his own and wanted to follow him, simply held back by the turnstile on which it was attached.
When the brunette was suddenly called − summoned? − to the council room of RAD, he felt immensely scared and confused, thinking he was going crazy.
Now, he just felt concerned, anxious.
And the fact that he only felt like that not even an hour after this whole traumatic experience and discovery destabilised him even more.
Taking his eyes off the rustic decor of the shops and restaurants − taverns? − of the Devildom, Goh let his blunt gaze land on the demon before him and frowned softly as his heart skipped an uneasy beat.
'Why does it feel like a... déjà-vu?'
Tumblr media Tumblr media
| 5 | The House of Lamentation
Goh expected that the residence of the seven brothers would be able to accommodate him and them, but he didn't think that the house would actually be a mansion.
Huge, noble and austere, the old building seemed to have two floors, although the human managed to distinguish a third which must served as an attic. Several lights were on, informing the brunette of the presence of someone inside. Probably the two brothers who had not been present during the small welcome assembly.
''That rotten bastard... Does he really think he can scare me into doin' whatever he wants?''
'Ah, so he was complaining all along...'
Mammon suddenly turned around, almost making the young man who was following him trip.
''Just so we're clear... it's not like I can't say no to Lucifer, okay? I only agreed to babysit you because, um... Well you know, because... uh...''
'Because...?'
''Anyway, it doesn't matter! Just don't go thinking that I'm scared of Lucifer or anything! Because I'm not!''
''I know.''
It wasn't the first time the student had faced people like the Avatar of Greed, those who turned a blind eye and said the complete opposite of what they thought to keep face. The best way to ensure that a conversation went well with this type of person was to go their way.
Delighted that their interlocutor was of the same opinion, they would automatically be more at ease.
''... Oh. Okay then, as long as we've got that straight.''
Goh was treated to a discreet glance that he could have missed if he hadn't been so attentive and observant by nature. Just after, Mammon turned around and pulled down the handle of the large double doors.
''... Ugh, whatever. Let's move on.''
An imperceptible smile stretched Goh's lips for the first time since he was in the Devildom. He was happy to have managed to understand part of the behavior of his protector in such a short time.
It could be useful to him later.
Following the demon and leaving the darkness of the night for the light of the residence, astonishment quickly took place on the young man's face as the entrance hall presented itself to him.
Listening absently to Mammon while detailing the place, he learned that the House of Lamentation was actually a dormitory reserved for members of the student council − minus Diavolo, who had his own castle − and that others like it existed all around RAD. From what the human understood, the student council acted as a sort of Congress.
As to whether the power of Diavolo and the brothers extended beyond the academy, the brunette suspected that it was the case, if only with the title of crown prince of Diavolo.
'Which means that these guys are really big shots here...'
''Hey, don't just stand there with you jaw open. Hurry up, or I'm gonna leave ya behind.''
The student noticed with surprise that his inspection of the entrance hall had absorbed him more than he would have expected, Mammon having had time to start taking the corridor which led to the rest of the ground floor.
It's while joining him at a small trot that Goh's chocolate eyes were attracted by a bulletin board where several sheets of part-time job offers were pinned.
''If there's something you wanna ask me, you'd best do it now.''
''What are your hobbies?''
The young man wanted to see if the question would destabilize him. Testing his reactions was a good way to establish the limits that should not be crossed to avoid really annoying him by accident. In addition, it would allow him to better understand the character who would serve as his bodyguard for the coming year.
''Hobbies? Pff, I don't have any... Wait, how about this : I like taking it easy, laughing, and having fun! That's my hobby! Eh, though I guess that's more like a 'lifestyle' than a hobby, huh?''
Maybe it was because of his cooperative reactions, but the human didn't expected the tan-skinned demon to be this easy to talk to.
At first glance, the brunette only saw the snappish character of the Avatar Lord − the fact that his first gesture was to grab him by the collar perhaps had something to do with it −, but when Mammon appeared comfortable in a situation, it seemed easier for him to express his true feelings.
''Anyway, I was actually asking if you had questions about life here at the dorm. I don't get why you wanna talk about me...''
'I don't know when I'll be able to know more about you, or if I'll be able to. I can learn about the Devildom whenever I want.'
''But I'm gonna give you a piece of advice, so listen up.''
The silver-haired stopped moving forward and Goh had all the difficulty in the world to stop to avoid hitting him. His chocolate irises were suddenly anchored in the blue-green eyes of his interlocutor and the serious and harsh look that the demon gave him made him swallow in spite of himself.
Their involuntary proximity already made him insecure, and the fact that Mammon began to tap his chest with his index finger, as one did when one wanted to threaten someone, did not help to calm his growing anxiety.
''If you wanna survive even a day here in the Devildom, you'd better listen real close to what I'm about to say. If it ever looks like a demon is about to attack you... run away.''
Lowering his arm, the Avatar of Greed turned again to resume walking, apparently not noticing the stress he had just put the human through.
''Either that, or die.''
Slightly frowning, the brunette couldn't help but think that this advice was worth gold.
Of course, here, he was just a weak human at the mercy of an entire country filled with seemingly man-eating demons.
No way he would do otherwise.
''How about this? I vote for you to die, Mammon.''
'... Huh?'

GoH-666: Various Artists - Mocking the Devil
So it is done. Instead of making another satanic compilation, we made an anti-satanic festival of mockery. Nineteen tracks of great variety in possibly all genres preached by Gates of Hypnos. Noise walls, dark ambient passages, free-form sound experiments, violent hash noise eruptions and hypnotic, repetitive industrials. Have fun mocking the devil!

Nightmarish Trip
TW// Drugs, Angst, Suggestive Mentions, Death, Alcohol Pls do not read if you're easily upset over things like this. Viewer discretion is advised.
It was a hot night out in Nevada. In the bunker, Dallas remained to himself while Roxxie and the rest of the crew were out gathering supplies. The gang knew Dallas wasn’t feeling so well and ushered him to stay put and rest. Dallas however wasn’t pleased with this outcome. He oh so desperately hated being alone… With a heart aching sigh, Dallas decided to sit up and reach under his bed. He pulled out a familiar glass object. Staring down at the pipe, Dallas pulls out a lighter. It probably wasn’t the best thing for him to do, but hey, whatever it took for him to feel less shitty, right? With a few puffs, Dallas set it down on the nightstand next to him and laid back. The demon’s eyelids grew slightly heavy as he watched the world around him spin and change. He felt a bit sick to his stomach. Probably should’ve checked what he was smoking first… He reached his hand up to try and touch the swirling objects around him. They grew bright in color and Dallas’ hand plummeted down to his side as his eyes closed. When he woke up, he was sitting outside. Things seemed strange though. The area he was in… This wasn’t Nevada. The sidewalk he sat on was paved with a reddish-gray color and the skies were more orange-red then they were a deep, dark red. That’s when Dallas realized something. This wasn’t Nevada. This was Hell. He looked down at his feet, seeing the puddle underneath them. It rippled, showing himself in a normal red flannel shirt and jeans. The golden hoop clip-on rings on his horns shimmered in the Hellish lighting. “I-I haven’t seen this shitty outfit in forever…” He mumbled. The puddle rippled more and slowly, he saw two figures behind him. Defensively, Dallas reeled around, only to find a demon with long pink hair and a pink dress, and another demon with black hair and only black jeans. The incubus blinked a few times, staring. “R-Rocks? Diesel??” The pink haired demon smiled and walked closer, putting her hand on his shoulder. “Hey, don’t sweat it. You got us, yeah?” The muscular one spoke up. “Yeah! Forget what that asshole told you. Honestly, You deserve way better than him…” “Him?” He gently took Roxxie’s hand off his shoulder. “Okay, who the fuck is him?? What are you two talking about?” Just then, Dallas was suddenly reeled back by his arms and forced against the wall, shutting his eyes from the impact.. When he opened his eyes, they grew almost as big as tennis balls at the figure before him. The man had a snake-like tail and a devilish grin. He wore a stained white tank top and ripped jeans and held a bottle of alcohol in his hand. “S...Stripes…” Dallas shook his head. No, no no no, he needed out of here. Now! Dallas tried to run, but was grabbed and pulled back. “Augh- fuck! Let go, jackass!” He kicked at him, growling loudly. “Babe…” He spoke calmly, making Dallas shut his eyes tightly. He knew what he was gonna say next. “Fuck, don’t say it. Don’t say it…” He whispered. His blood boiled for just remembering this moment. “I think maybe we should split. You just aren't what I need in my life. I need a better ma…"
Dallas went to turn and slap him, but when he did, he saw Stripes lying on the floor. A chunk of his neck was ripped off and Dallas tasted copper in his mouth and felt a hot liquid dripping down his chin. He looked down at his bloodied lips and his eyes widened as parts of his ex’s flesh were in his mouth. Dallas spat it out, wiping his lips. He felt his body seething with rage, but he couldn’t force himself to attack anymore. Dallas heard sirens similar to screams outside of the house. Everything became hazy and changed around him once more. He came to, staring at his hands. They were handcuffed together and he saw that he was in an orange jumpsuit. He heard talk all around him and looked around. He was in a filled courtroom and he noticed Roxxie and Diesel in handcuffs as well. The bangs of the gavel ringed his ears and made him flinch. “Order! Order!!” Dallas looked up at the judge. Sitting in the witness stand next to the judge was the bitten and beaten corpse of Stripe. He just stood there, staring at Dallas. “Dallas Haze…” The judge’s voice made Dallas glance up at them fearfully. “You have created some terrible crimes, but none can overcome this… Murdering a man of our satanic forces here in Styx City.” “D-Demons can’t die, jackass… He should’ve came back by now! I was framed for him goin' missin'!!” “He had been missing for months now… Who knows what you did with his corpse, you sick bastard…” “I didn’t do shit-!” “ENOUGH!” Dallas flinched as a high-piercing sound rang in the incubus’ ears. “As punishment for your sinful acts, we, the court, have found that even Hell isn’t a fitting punishment… You and your little friend group here will be shot and sent to purgatory, where you will NEVER reunite again!” He slammed his gavel and Roxxie and Diesel panicked. “Dallas!” Roxxie screamed out, trying to run. She was grabbed by the guards and was dragged back. Diesel roared and kicked, hissing and struggling as the guards had mercilessly beaten him until he was unconscious to drag back. “Diesel! Roxxie!” He ran to try and help them, but was jumped and pinned down by the other guards. With a swift, hard punch to the face, Dallas woke up in the interrogation room. Before him was a woman with candy red skin and had a bow on her head. It was Halt… But- how? She was always stuck in the same body as Sloh and Goh… She looked at him with a saddened look on her face. “Dallas… At least tell us where the body is... “ “I-I don’t know what you’re talking about! I left his ass at the house!” She shook her head. “You know that ain’t true…” “I’m not lying, dammit!” Dallas barked. “Someone else got him ‘cuz it isn’t me!” Halt’s voice echoed within the cold, dark walls. “We gave you a chance, Dallas… You ruined everything for yourself.” The lightbulb above them blew out and Dallas’ vision returned with him being forced onto the ground with his hands tied to his back. He turned around to see the face of a familiar green demon staring down at him with a shotgun pointed at him. “G-Goh!?” He struggled, trying to break free. His body then suddenly froze as he stared up at the barrel of the weapon. With a roar and distorted voice, Goh snarls. “You dug your grave…” He cocked his gun.
“N O W L A Y I N I T …!!!” With a loud shot being fired, Dallas felt something heavy hit his face. With free hands, he brushed away what had been dirt. He frantically looked around and saw that he was in a deep, open grave. “Wh… Wha- Augh-!” Trying to stand, he was thrown back down by another pile of heavy dirt. He looked up and saw Sloh staring down at him coldly with a dirt-covered shovel in their hands. It was raining and storming now… “Sloh-!” He coughed up dirt that had fallen into his mouth. “No- Nonono this can’t be it…! No-!” He moved the dirt aside and tried to crawl up, scratching at the walls around him to try and escape. “Sloh, don’t…! I don’t deserve this…! I didn’t do anything…!” Sloh looked down at him. One singular yellow eye glowed in the night as a crack of lightning flashed behind them, showing the shadows of the figure’s body. With a cold and monotone voice, they spoke. “This is your fate, Dallas… You were a dead man from the start… You…” They pointed beside his grave, staring at the two other graves he had already buried. “And your friends…” Dallas’ eyes widened at that statement. Tears streamed down his face in horror. He wanted to scream, but he had no words. He stared in shock and his dirty body shook. His body was so cold... He felt so sick… Sloh had no remorse as they shoveled more and more dirt onto him as he screamed and pleaded and desperately tried to crawl out. The dirt covered his view and he was in total darkness. He felt his heart drop and heard it beating slower and slower. Finally, the beating stopped and there was total silence…
At the end of a dark tunnel, a light showed. Dallas’ feet felt like he was walking through wet concrete. He slowly walked towards the light and he could see that the bright white light engulfed his vision. Before him, he saw a familiar figure in a white lab coat standing facing away in the distance. Dallas felt all his stress slowly fade as Jeb stood there, staring off into the distance. “H-Holy shit… J-Jeb…!” He rushed after him, reaching a hand out. “Jeb- I don’t know what’s going on… We need to get the fuck out of here!”
The demon exclaimed, getting about a few feet closer before realizing something was wrong. “Jeb? Jebediah, come on! Christoff!” Jeb’s back suddenly arched all the way back with a sickening cracking noise. His usual red eyes dripping a black substance, as was his nose and mouth. Slowly, the skin on his face melted off, revealing a red skeleton. Just like he had found him ages ago during the war. “Sh-Shit…!!” Dallas backed away, terrified. “Goddammit, get me out of here…!!” He screamed, running away from the mangled figure. His heart raced as black fire spurted out of Jeb’s mouth. Dallas ran as shadows began filling the room he was in. He hit a wall and started to pound his fists against it. “Let me out…!” They got closer.
“Let me out…!”
And closer...
“LET ME OU-…!!!” Dallas’ scream was cut off as the shadows engulfed his entire body, leaving him in darkness once again. … ... ... With a familiar voice, and deep chuckle, dread filled his mind. “͔͇͚́Y͎̘̺͇̙o͈͙̘̞u͍̮̝̪’̸̞͔͍ṛ̨̱̟̪e̡̝̩ ͎͉̩̟̯̗̗ ̵̪͎̳̗ ͏N̴̺̻̗̭̼̬̬O͖̳̫̥̹̻̮T̲͔H̦I̴̯̳̠̮̼̺N҉̭̩͓̬G̹͖̬̝̝ ̹̜̹̟͖ ͉̤̕ ̖t̼o̷̘͙ ̛m̷̜̯̘e̠̪͍̤, ̩͕̜̘͎̫D͖̱̞̥a̡̬̪ḽ̛̬̘̱̮ͅl͎̼͙̖͔͇a̱̳̠̼̺̹̙͞s̀…̩͇̹̙̫̮͜”̨̯̬͉ͅͅ Dallas shot up with a gasp. Clutching his chest, he felt his heart nearly beat out of it. He looked around frantically with a throbbing headache. He was inside of his bedroom, half dressed with only black pajama bottoms on. He panted and shut his eyes, trying to calm himself down. He slowly glanced at the glass bong on his nightstand. A loud shattering sound was heard a few seconds later as the bong made contact with the wall near the door, breaking it instantly with the sheer force of the throw. He breathed heavily, staring down at the broken glass with anger. His hands shaking at the sight as he tried to process what had just happened… He closed his eyes and felt tears slowly running down his face. His head and body throbbed with pain and stress. Dallas pulled his knees up to his chest and buried his face in his knees. Dallas wasn’t much of a prayer, but God. He prayed that Roxxie and the gang were safe out there in the hellish lands of Nevada.

Family Album: IV
Son Family Week 2019: @sonfamilyweek
Goten Day (5/10)
Characters: Goten
Prompt: Twins
“What’s going on?” Goten approached his parents who were very cozy with each other. He jumped between them wanting to share in the affection. Goten settled on Goku’s lap, giggling as his father squeezed him.
“I’m finishing the family album.” Chichi turned the album to a blank page. “Your Dad and brother have been helping me. Once we finish, we’ll leave for dinner.”
Goku took the remaining pictures out of the box and spread them out. Most of the pictures left were taken after his second revival. There were a few he didn’t recognize since they were taken after his death.
Goten studied the pictures. Though the ones taken after his father came back to life were his favorite, there were some he like during his first seven years. “I remember this one.” Goten reached for a picture. “Mom, Gohan and I went to a museum where there were pictures of you.”
“Me?” Goku knew of only one place that held pictures of him but he looked at the picture to be sure. Chichi, Gohan and Goten stood before a large portrait of Goku fighting Jackie Chun. “You three went to the Tournament Museum on Papaya Island?”
“When Goten was five,” Gohan returned to the room, “I mentioned going to the museum as a kid.” Gohan ruffled his brother’s head. “After that, Goten wouldn’t stop begging to go.”
“Mom didn’t want to,” Goten added. “Something about Mr. Satan.”
Goku and Gohan knew her reasons but for Goten to understand, Chichi only said, “Mr. Satan has made his money taking credit for something he didn’t do. I didn’t want to see it on full display. Also, some of the memories I made there were difficult to handle at the time.”
“I convinced Mom we can go during the off season for tourists to Papaya Island,” Gohan added.
“I see,” Goku understood Chichi’s reluctance to go back to Papaya Island. Besides him being dead a second time, the last time they went it was a week before his death during his fight with Raditz. “Did you enjoy it, Goten? The Shrine of Fighters was my favorite thing to see.”
Goten nodded excited. “I like that, too! Especially the shrine dedicated to you, Dad.”
Papaya Island was not like Mount Paouz. Goten’s home in the mountains was quiet, the air smelled fresher, the water tasted cleaner and there weren’t a lot of people. Goten’s nearest neighbor was over five miles. Here, people were everywhere. Goten hadn’t seen this many people except in West City visiting Trunks. It was a little scary to the five-year-old from the country.
Goten squeezed his mother’s hand. “It’s so crowded, Momma.”
“Don’t worry, Goten,” Chichi assured him with a warm smile. “It’s safe and we’re almost at the museum.”
Their hotel was only a mile away so the three walked. When they reached the tournament arena, Goten nerves eased since there weren’t many people in line. Gohan was right. There were less people visiting now in the offseason. It wasn’t a long wait for the three to purchase their tickets and venture to the tournament grounds.
“It’s very different than when we were here, Gohan.” Chichi was annoyed as she read the pamphlet. “When we went, we were allowed to go everywhere. We could visit the competition halls, the mess hall and even the main arena. Now all that is closed off.”
Goten didn’t like to hear that. He saw the pictures taken when his mother, father and brother visited years ago. He wanted to tour those areas, too. “Can we still see the Shrine of Fighters, Momma?” Goten asked. “I wanna see Daddy’s shrine.”
Gohan read over his tour pamphlet. “Looks like it’s the only thing we can do.”
Goten held his mother’s hand as they walked to the Shrine of Fighters. When they entered, there were lines to different areas of the shrine. Goten noticed his mother said nothing to the line of people entering the portion of the shrine dedicated to tournaments before his Dad competed but when she saw there was a shrine dedicated to Mr. Satan, the line was long and there wasn’t a line leading to the Shrine of Goku, his mother was infuriated. “Disgusting! How pitiful.”
Goten wondered why his mother became angry whenever Mr. Satan’s name was mentioned. When he asked his brother about it, Gohan would smile and say, “Mom doesn’t like it when people take credit for other people’s hard work and sacrifices.” Gohan never explained what their mother meant.
Goten shrugged. Maybe one day he’ll understand.
Goten awed at the portraits on display in the Shrine of Goku. Goten’s seen pictures of his father but those were in photo albums and frames on the wall. These portraits were life size and taken when Goku competed at the tournament.
“Wow, Momma!” Goten released his mother’s hand as he rushed to a portrait of Goku vs Giran. “Daddy was small like me when he fought that big dinosaur.”
“Yes,” Chichi’s eyes were only on her late husband. “He fought a lot of people bigger than him.”
Staring at the pictures of his father against Giran, Nam and Jackie Chun, Goten thought about himself. If his father was strong at a young age and so small, then perhaps he could be really strong, too. As he contemplated this, a group of seven entered the shrine. Goten would’ve ignored them except he noticed the tall man of the group staring at Goten. Goten looked at himself wondering if he had food stains on his clothes but found nothing. While the group with him looked at the photos, the man kept his eyes on Goten. It was uncomfortable to the child to be stared at especially by a stranger.
Goten felt a tug of his hand and his mother saying, “Come on, Goten.”
Goten followed his mother and brother to the area where photos of the 22nd tournament were on display. Goten loved seeing the pictures of his father. Even though the photos on display were screenshots of fights, Goten was happy to see glimpses of his father’s fighting prowess in action after hearing so many stories about him from his mother and brother.
Everyone in his family could fight except him. Some mornings Goten would see his brother sparring alone in the yard. For Gohan, he did it to keep in shape and not to get stronger. Goten asked his brother if he will teach him how to fight but each time he asked, his brother would get a weird look on his face. He looked very sad when he turned him down.
“You don’t need to learn how to fight, Goten,” Gohan would tell him. “It may look fun seeing me spar outside but it’s not as fun as you think. Fighting has consequences.”
Since his brother turned him down, Goten considered asking his mother. She was strong and was a former fighter, too, but Goten overheard stories how his parents argued over Gohan fighting. He thought if he asked his mother will say no.
“I wish I saw Dad and Krillin fight,” Gohan remarked with a laugh. He stood in front of the photos showing highlights of their fight. “They both studied under Master Roshi and that time was probably the closest Krillin will have gotten to beating Dad.”
“No,” Chichi disagreed. “Your Dad played with Krillin throughout that fight. He could’ve ended it sooner but he wanted to see how much stronger Krillin got. Your Dad only got serious when he was in the final match.”
While staring at pictures of Goku fighting Krillin, Goten felt he was being watched again. He turned his head. It was the same man from earlier. Why was he looking at him? It was unnerving. Goten’s eyes widen in fear when he saw the man talk to the group with him. Suddenly, they all were looking at him.
Goten moved closer to his mother when he saw the group coming to them. “Momma.” Goten grabbed the skirts of his mother’s dress and hid behind her. His mother looked at him confused before turning to the approaching group. Goten was scared but he was also mad at himself. If he knew how to fight, he could get in front of his mother. If these people approaching were bad, he could protect her and not hide behind her skirt.
“Hello.” Chichi kept a hand on Goten while talking to the group. Gohan stepped closer to Chichi.
A man pointed at Goten. “I’m sorry if we scared him but I noticed that little boy behind you looks like Son Goku.” He pointed to the photo of Goku on the wall. “Is he a relative?”
“This is his son, Son Goten.” Chichi touched Gohan’s arm. “His oldest son, Son Gohan. I’m his widow, Son Chichi. Who are you?”
“Oh,” the man was crestfallen at the news Son Goku had passed. The man knelt to Goten and smiled kindly at him. “I’m Koji. I saw your Daddy at each of these tournaments. He was the best fighter I’ve ever seen.”
Goten stepped away from his mother’s skirt. “Really?”
Koji nodded. “Yes. The fight with him and Jackie Chun was the most amazing fight I’ve seen. When he turned into a giant ape, I was blown away! It was awesome! I didn’t know martial artists could trained themselves to transform into animals! I would’ve changed into a lion or dinosaur but the giant ape was cool, too.”
“Giant ape?” Goten frowned. What was this man talking about? “Are you sure you’re talking about my Daddy?”
“Mr. Koji is mistaken, Goten. I think he’s confused with a martial arts fight he saw in a movie.” Chichi pointed to Goten and shook her head at Koji.
“Oh!” Koji caught on. “Right. I’m so sorry! It was a movie I saw. Your Daddy couldn’t transform into a giant ape. That’s for TV shows and movies.” Koji was glad Goten grinned at him, thinking he made an error. “After that tournament, I came to the next two because I knew your Daddy will compete. I have to say the last one your Daddy competed in is my favorite.” Koji stood with his group. A woman and five kids. “I met my wife at the 23rd tournament.”
“Oooo! Momma and Daddy met again at that tournament, too!” Goten shared with Koji. “After Daddy won, he ran off to marry Momma!”
“Your mother is an amazing fighter.” Koji laughed. “She had your Daddy running around the ring. She was fearless. I thought she could’ve beat him.”
Goten gasped. He looked up at his mother eyes wide and mouth open. He knew his mother was strong but he had no idea she was that strong. Gohan always told him Daddy was the greatest fighter in the universe. If his mother almost beat him in a fight, how strong was she? Why didn’t Gohan tell him?
Koji laughed at Goten’s astonishment at his mother. “You are your Daddy’s twin. It’s amazing how much you look like him. I know you’re young but are you taking martial arts classes?” Goten shook his head. He didn’t hide his disappointment. “Oh, well I’m sure there’s a good reason. Would be nice if we can get some real martial artists competing again instead of that fool Mr. Satan. I don’t care what he says. I don’t believe he killed Cell. If it was anyone, it was…..” Koji caught himself in midsentence. He understood why Son Goku was dead. “I’m so sorry. I had no idea.” Goten noticed Koji looked at his mother. “Why haven’t you said anything? The world should be praising a real hero. Not a charlatan.”
Goten looked from his mother to Mr. Koji. What was he talking about?
“It’s the price I pay for privacy and peace, Mr. Koji.”
Goten frowned. What did that mean? Goten looked at his brother. Did he know? Gohan had that weird sad face again. He probably did know and when he looked like that, he didn’t tell Goten anything. Goten resigned himself to not knowing right now. Maybe someday he’ll understand.
Mr. Koji did. “It’s not much but let me show my gratitude. Let my family treat yours to dinner.”
Dinner? Goten like that offer but seeing his mother’s face, Goten knew she will turn him down. “That’s kind of you but my sons eat like their father. It will be a very high bill.”
Koji grinned. “Oh, I know all about that. My father owns Delicious Saikan. Your husband cleaned us out every time he visited! If we can’t treat the family of the man who saved us all, we don’t deserve to be in business. Please,” Koji insisted, “have dinner with us.”
Goten was very happy his mother accepted Koji’s invitation. It turned into a fun night with Koji sharing more stories of his experiences at the tournaments Goku competed in. In turn, Chichi shared a few stories about Goku.
That evening, Chichi, Gohan and Goten returned to their hotel. While Gohan took a shower, Chichi helped Goten undressed. He was next to clean up. “Did you have fun today, Goten?”
“Yeah.” This was a really good day. “I love seeing Daddy’s shrine and talking to Mr. Koji and his family.”
 “They are good people.”
“Momma, can you teach me how to fight?” In the past Goten was reluctant to ask his mother but hearing how much he looked like his Daddy from Mr. Koji and his polite nudge he should learn martial arts, Goten decided to take a chance and ask his mother.  “I really wanna learn.”
“Why do you want to fight, Goten?”
Goten expected his mother to say no but this question was encouraging. “Well, I wanna be strong like Daddy. I wanna be able to protect you.”
 “Protect me?”
“I was scared when Mr. Koji and his family came over. I hid behind you instead of standing in front of you. Daddy wouldn’t have done that. Please, Momma.” Goten begged. “Will you teach me?”
The longer his mother delayed answering the stronger the feeling became his mother will say no. Goten’s hopes sank. He wondered if he will ever learn how to fight.
“If you don’t mind having a stern teacher,” Chichi smiled at him, “I’ll be happy to teach you, Goten.”
“Yeah!” Goten pumped his fist in the air and threw his arms around his mother in a fierce hug. “Thank you, Momma!”
“What are you doing with the camera, Goten?” Gohan stood in front of his mirror tying his tie. From his view in the mirror, he noticed Goten sitting on the bed playing with the family camera.
“I wanna take another family picture,” Goten explained. “You have a lot of pictures with Mom and Dad. I don’t. I wanna catch up.”
“Boys!” Chichi called. “Are you ready? It’s time to go!”
Gohan held the door open for his little brother. “Well, we can catch up before we go.” Goten and Gohan left their room and found their parents waiting for them in the kitchen.
Goku sat at the kitchen table munching on apples from the fruit bowl. Chichi stood in the doorway shaking her head at her husband. “Goku, we’re getting ready to leave. You’re acting like you’re starving.”
“I am,” Goku whined. “That snack we had earlier wasn’t filling.”
“Wow, Mom.” Gohan stepped in the kitchen. His mother looked stunning in a white, halter dress. “Where did you get that dress?” It was a pretty dress but the way it showed off his mother’s arms and back, it was not an outfit Gohan was used to his mother wearing.
“Something in the closet. I had it for years and…..” Chichi looked slyly at Goku who grinned while munching on another apple. “I tried it on earlier, saw that it still fits and thought if I clean it, it will be perfect for tonight.”
Goten stepped to his mother and held the camera to her. “Can we take a picture before we go? We can add it to the album.”
“Sure.” Chichi handed Goku the camera. He liked playing with it. It was the same mobile camera gifted to them from Gyu-Mao after Goku returned to life. Goku and Chichi had fun with this camera when their sons spent a few days with their grandpa. Now that she thought about it, Chichi thought she and Goku should do it again.
 “All right. It’s set.”
The camera hovered in the air with the timer winding down as the Son family got in position. Chichi stood between Goku and Gohan while Goten stood in front of her. The family of four smiled as the camera captured another photo Chichi will add to the family album.

I don't talk about saints row on here but I'd like to say bossgat is canon here's why:
fuckin boss just lets out their real feelings abt them and gat and just fucking make out in the romance option (sr4)
they've been together side by side since the literal beginning and since boss became leader gat was like fuck yeah man and stuck by them till now like they're both married now honestly
boss gets teleported to fuckin hell to marry Satan's daughter and gat goes and rescues them without another thought bitch goes to hell and just shoots Satan in the face and rescues that idiot (goh)
in sr4 boss was really depressed abt gat dying and like he doesn't give up to find him and just like "I know he's alive" and goes to rescue him when the gang was totally against it
they're both are really gay bye
thanks for coming to my ted talk

Attention! Gates of Hypnos compilation "Mocking the Devil" (GoH-666) is still opened for submissions!
THEME RULES for GoH-666 While most would do super-serious uber-satanic compilation for the catalogue number of triple six, we do exactly otherwise. "Mocking the Devil" is supposed to be funny, maybe a bit childish and it's about bullying and mocking the Horned One, other devils, demons and their servants such like satanists, black metal kids and so on. While titles like "Screw Satan" would do, ones like "Satan can't ride a bicycle - what a looser" would do better. Try not to be political unless it fits the theme.
OTHER RULES for GoH-666 1. One track per project/moniker. 2. Track timing no longer than 16:66 (17:06). 3. Send track in FLAC (wav if you cannot do flac) via WeTransfer to [email protected].
Thank you for your attention. Please repost :)
