So it is done. Instead of making another satanic compilation, we made an anti-satanic festival of mockery. Nineteen tracks of great variety in possibly all genres preached by Gates of Hypnos. Noise walls, dark ambient passages, free-form sound experiments, violent hash noise eruptions and hypnotic, repetitive industrials. Have fun mocking the devil!
VENUS - 426 - The Aftermath - EP (full EP, 2023) Noise
youtube
It is no secret that the genre of noise usually leaves many unitiated listeners in serious confusion. Some of you may appreciate it for what it is but are only able to have it in small doses. Some of you may not understand it all, harkening it to the sound of an electric generator or blender. Some of you(mainly the unhinged, like us) may have a serious love for this unorthodox art form. And some of you would definitely have not heard of this style of music at all.
Wherever you are in this range of existence, it is clear that noise lives in an area of music where all conventions are thrown out the window. There are no riffs, no song structures, no proper lyrics, and certainly no love for something beautiful. It may be hard to grasp, but this is where today's feature comes in.
Venus-426 with their new EP, the Aftermath is a release we will boldy say is a quintessential addition to the leftist music space. They certainly do all the things that are stated above, but are different. Some of you may expect the sounds of hairdryers or lawn mowers, but may be greeted with the sounds of deep space(if there was one). Some of you may expect this to melt into the background as you work on your daily tasks, but will be startled when Venus-426 suddenly pours hot lava down your ears.
We digress, this is a great entry point for those of you who are not as exposed to this genre. It has its ambient moments that gives this EP a different dimension especially when compared to your typical noise projects. It also does have its traditional noise moments that for some reason feel different and are special in their own way.
Venus-426 has pushed themselves further here, and we are very excited to see which parts of the auditory spectrum they are willing to hit next. Out now on our YouTube channel!

DARK ENERGY PRESENTS...SHAMICA RUDDOCK + BANTU + DUSHUME + DHANGSHA
Celebrating label Dark Energy's inaugural release, Bantu's debut album "Instability," four protagonists explore the juxtaposition of heavy bass with noise. Bantu himself presents deep modulations that simmer with a quiet rage, exploding unexpectedly into bit-crushed stutter and then abrupt silences. Shamica Ruddock posits disjointed and chaotic loops, broken and sometimes beyond repair, subby and disorientating. Dushume contributes menacing low end frequencies, neither pulse nor drone, that envelop bodies like an impenetrable black fog. Dhangsha offers an industrial inflected dancehall which invariably collapses under sonic duress, with mutilated beats straddling the boundaries of good taste.
