A-Z HEADCANONS // DUNCAN THEIRIN

i was tagged by @nordxz thanks so much tash !! i'm gonna answer this for duncan, my babey and the next gen son of alistair and ella cousland 😊😚😘

i snappped while answering these and accidentally wrote 6 pages and almost 4k words so uh. loooooong infodump ahead.

Alignment: What would be their D&D alignment? How might it come into play?

duncan very easily falls into the lawful neutral category, like i dont rly need to give his alignment too much thought unlike with some of my other ocs. duncan is.....hmm. hes a very KIND person, generous and selfless, and tries his best to make people happy, but i wouldn’t necessarily say he's good, considering a lot his issues lie with his inability to act, or stand up to others. he’s guilty of very blindly following the law, or other people's ideas of what's right, and he doesn't really feel confident enough to rely on his own conscience for most things. so i'd say while he tries to do the right thing and act within the law, sometimes he goes against his own values out of fear or confusion or, simply out of ignorance, since he was born into a life of privilege and can't always distinguish what's right and what’s believed ykno

Beverage: What do they most like to drink, and why?

duncan shares a weird trait with both his brother and sister where they all just inexplicably ?? don't like alcohol at all. so stuff like wine and liquors is off the table. he absolutely LOVES tea though. u know that one scene in scott pilgrim where the gal is going thru her list of like 72 teas? thats him 100%. it's his lifeblood at this point, he has SO much of it and a perk of being the heir to a monarchy means he's got a lot of foreign merchant acquaintances, so he tends to order in different blends from all over. he's a chronic insomniac, and he uses it as a crutch to get through the days some times. modern!duncan still loves tea but obviously has a stronger love for coffee, since its far more effective!

Co-Habitat: Do they live with anyone? What’s “need to know” before moving in?

duncan currently lives in the residential dorms of the college of enchanters, while he's sort of aimlessly studying a bunch of subjects he's already mostly adept at. firstly, duncan is VERY sick lol, he was conceived while ella and alistair still hadn't found the cure for the joining, and essentially he inherited both of their darkspawn taint so 🙂🙂🙂 thats always a good time. so anyone who lives with him needs to prepare for 1) him being sick obviously,, throwing up, coughing up blood, looking like a corpse virtually 23 hours of the day lol. and obviously the fear that one day he might actually die. but also 2) he suffers from grey warden nightmares for the same reasons, hence the insomnia. he can go a concerning number of days without sleeping and usually only takes strategic cat naps when he needs to, but obviously he has his limits. it's very rare that he goes a full night without waking up in a cold sweat due to nightmares so. we stan one depressed king ! oh he also is Incapable of locking the door to his apartment. he always forgets and hes too tired to care about people stealing his stuff fkdkdjdjd he would probably make more of an effort if he had someone living with him, but old habits die hard so !!!!!!

Decor: What kind of home do they keep? Are there any defining details?

honestly , duncan's house is very devoid of clutter or personal items in general, which is sad. he definitely would have a lot of decor if he could, but since his current housing is only temporary while he's in orlais, he doesn't really want to get... comfortable ykno. other than that, duncan's home is always kept impeccably neat and clean, for two reasons. firstly, growing up in denerim's palace really engrained into his head the importance of keeping up appearances, so its sort of a subconscious ritual of his at this point. but i think more importantly its because of all the nights when he cant sleep, so during the night with nothing to keep him from dwelling on his thoughts or nightmares, he really needs the distraction, and cleaning gives him something to do. duncan really needs to feel like he's doing something, like he's managing, like he's able to achieve something so cleaning is just one little way of taking ownership of his life.

Escape: What do they do to de-stress? How successful is it?

nsfw warning but uhhh..... he has a LOT of sex basically dkdkdksk u wouldn’t know it by looking at him tho ! bc hes very polite and nervous and kinda shy?? but hes also charming and obviously attractive so he doesnt really lack for interested parties. mainly he just sticks to one night stands, with no strings attached, and it helps him take his mind off things when hes exhausted or its late at night and hes afraid to go to sleep. otherwise he also has had some friends with benefits but usually his personal life is too complicated for a serious relationship. aside from that, he also reads a LOT, writes too – when he has the time/energy – and obviously cuddling sessions with his cat, moira dkdkdk

Fluff: What hits their soft spot? Does anything turn them into emotional goo?

so ik above i said that duncan doesnt do serious relationships but thats,, not through any will of his own. he LOVES love and is a complete hopeless romantic , but unfortunately for a number of reasons he's just very unlucky at love ! 😔 so having an emotional, intimate connection with someone that isnt just sex is super healing for him, since he's not used to it at all. being with nadaia is such a positive thing for him, just knowing that his feelings are reciprocated and that he's valued and wanted.

Grudge: How bad does an insult go over? Do they hold a grudge long?

i think it depends on who its directed at !! duncan usually ignores any insults directed at him because he's grown up being so scrutinized by the public and for the most part, fereldens are very weary of him so he hears A LOT. most of criticisms about him he just.. automatically accepts as fact and really buys into them, bc he has such low self esteem. but as for other people, and ESPECIALLY loved ones thats a very different story!! he's not exactly the type to start throwing punches if anyone says a bad word against someone he cares about, but he WILL personally see to it in his own sneaky way that they get whats coming to them dkdkkdjd usually he'll either find a way to expose their dirty laundry, embarrass them in public, prevent a promotion, something like that lol. this goes double if the insult is directed at nadaia or his family.

Hobby: What’s something they do for fun that might be surprising?

ive already mentioned that he's an avid reader and he likes to write occasionally, but he's also a talented musician! He can play harp and lute, and has a beautiful singing voice ! tho he never EVER sings in public and u have to be like,, a ride or die for him to even consider singing in front of u.

Insomnia: What’s their sleeping schedule like? Snorer? Sound sleeper?

well like i said he's an insomniac so sleep rly is a vague, barely recognised concept to him at the point dksksksk he also experiences sleep paralysis during especially bad nightmares, honestly he rly hit the misery jackpot and i feel so bad like hes indisputably my most tormented oc 🙃🙃🙃 so yea hehe doesnt really thrash around during nightmares but he sweats A LOT and sometimes talks in his sleep. during sleep paraylsis obviouslyy he goes COMPLETELY rigid and still which is terrifying for everyone involved lol. on the rare occasion that he is able to sleep he is out like a light lol he would sleep for 17 hours if he could. in saying that because he is also a Strategic Napper he is usually comfortable falling asleep ANYWHERE, because hes so tired comfort really isnt a concern lol.

Jaded: Do they buy into the “happily ever after” ideal? What’s their standard?

no he doesn't unfortunately 😔 or at least i should say he doesn't believe in it for himself - he's pretty convinced that he won't live til 30 and he's existing on borrowed time as it is, so he hasn't really put a lot of thought into his own happiness or the pursuit of his own goals because he doesn't believe he'll be around to see them realized

Kin: What’s their role among their relations? Do they consider others family?

duncan is the firstborn son of king!alistair and ella cousland, my canon warden. he's also the eldest brother to roslyn and bryce theirin. he's also, obviously , the half brother of keiran, tho none of the theirin kids are aware of that oof. his role, officially, is to become king when his parents eventually pass. its NOT something he wants, due to being so sick and unsure of himself. despite what his parents tell him, he doesnt believe he will make a good king and is really terrified of the notion in general, i guess a little like alistair was in dao. duncan kinda,,, avoids his duties, to the point where he literally LEAVES to live and study in orlais. he still does what he needs to do, keeps in correspondence with people he needs to, but its all bare minimum stuff because hes just. so afraid of it lol. he has a mostly good relationship with his family, despite that – theres some resentment between him and his sister, rose, but thats a whole entire story we dont have time for dkdkskdk

Law: What do they think about abiding rules? Are they selective about it?

like i said before he's pretty adherent to the rules and laws of society tho i do see that as more of a flaw than anything. he doesnt really feel comfortable stepping outside the norm and tends to accept that other people know best ! even if he disagrees he's usually too unsure of himself to speak up. that does change quite a bit once he and nadaia grow closer, since SHE is big on bending ridiculous or unjust rules, but he's always gonna be a bit of a follower i think 😒

Magic: In a magic series or not, are they accepting, or is each instance a shock?

he's accepting!! he's a mage so it would be wild of him if he didnt lmao. during his childhood/adolesence he was kinda harsh on himself and had a lot of internalized guilt for being a mage, bc this was obviously still fresh after the mage rebellions. he resented his own abilities and just wanted to be normal, but that was also him projecting a lot of his other problems as well. he had amazing teachers who helped him come to terms with his abilities, and the best of all was my inquisitor, ashara, who is kind of like a very distant, scary aunt who always had a soft spot for him. she helped him – and alistair and ella – RIGHT after they discovered he was a mage, and she was really the biggest role model in his life when it came to magic. duncan has always looked up to her skill and control and confidence, and tried very hard to match that.

Network: Are they connected to the people? How much do they reach out to others?

duncan has an ARMY of acquaintances and connections due to his family, but doesn't really have a lot of people he considers his close friends. he's super friendly and he gets along with most people, but like ive said before serious relationships including friendships are always a bit complicated for him bc of who he is as a person lol. as for reaching out, he's a very independent, introverted person and so he tends not to seek out other people unless he's close to them or has no other choice. he's very self conscious about being a burden on people or being to “needy" so he holds himself back and sometimes comes across as a little cold.

Offspring: What kind of parent would they be? Would they prefer one, or multiple?

he.... probably can't physically have kids unfortunately due to his condition, and as a result he's never really wanted to think too much about it, or imagine a scenario that he believes he cant have. but if it WERE a possibility, or if he felt stable in his own life enough to adopt, he'd probably be comfortable with just one child to completely spoil. he would be such a good father, albiet maybe not the coolest dad ddkdkdks i think nadaia would be the one who got up to the crazy shenanigans and let her child get away with everything, and duncan would be more of the nurturing, responsible one. he'd be a MASTER at telling bedtime stories, would kick ass at homework assistance, and would sing his kid to sleep every single night (until they got too old for it obviously). ooooo im so IMMENSELY emo abt this au now that i think about it

Pistol: Is this character skilled with a weapon? What’s their opinion of violence?

duncan is a very non-violent person, but he does believe that sometimes violence is necessary and will BE violent if he needs to – only in self defence scenarios though. he's an adept mage, and very skilled with a staff, but he isn't a fighter, really – more of a defensive, protective figure.

Question: How often do they feel doubt? What topics are they defensive about?

oh the doubt is constant with him 🙃🙃 he has a lot of deep routed dread about his own morality and whether or not he's a good person or if the maker will accept him when he dies. he's andrastian but TERRIFIED of the notion that its all actually real, bc then he doesnt know where that leaves him. he has this weird existential dichotomy where he doesnt know if hes closer resembling a grey warden or a darkspawn bc of his tainted blood. he also doubts his abilities and his magic bc he's afraid that the taint just,, makes him inherently a corrupted thing. he doubts himself on a more basic level with like, being a good brother, a good son, a good king when the time comes. he wants to be a good student and partner but sometimes his health makes him feel like he cant, and it weighs on him so heavily, almost all the time. basically he needs a hug so badly its not funny 😔😔😔

Reminder: How are they at remembering daily needs? What falls through the cracks?

uhh its very selective !!! for the most part he's very good at taking care of himself, mostly because he NEEDS to otherwise his health gets out of control, but sometimes he tends to prioritize one set of needs above another,, which usually means not sleeping (the most common), forgetting to eat, not letting his loved ones know when he's having a poor health day which usually results in him getting really sick and nobody is around to help him. he also forgets to do certain things like lock up his house, buy foodstuffs, reply to peoples letters n stuff like that.

Sing: Do they like music? Do they listen often/sing/hum/play songs in their head?

yes and yes !! duncan loves music altho its a very personal and private thing for him. he's pretty naturally gifted with music and gets it from ella, who taught him a lot of what he knows. he has a gorgeous singing voice (i kinda hc something similar to dan smith’s vocals from bastille!) that he rarely uses bc he only ever sings when he's alone or if he's forced to by a nosy loved one or something lol

Touch: How do they handle contact? Is their personal bubble big?

duncan doesn't mind being touched !!! in fact in most situations he welcomes it, as long as its like,,, appropriate and not some random stranger obviously. he grew up with ella and alistair who obviously are VERY affectionate people so he loves giving and receiving hugs from friends and he doesnt flinch or feel weird about just? random natural touches or anything. his ~love language~ is also physical touch so he LIVES for cuddling with nadaia and holding hands and anything like that. however !!! his little sister rose HATES being touched by virtually anybody and in any capacity, so he's very aware that not everybody is okay with touch, and is always careful and considerate of other peoples boundaries. he usually waits for the other person to make the first move, or simply asks them first !

Upcoming: How much do they think of the future? Do they make long-term plans?

he doesn't at all 😔 i mentioned this before but he doesn't see himself living very long, and its really impacted his outlook on life. he is afraid to commit to a lot of things, even if its something he really, truly wants, because he doesn't want to get his hopes up for things. it also keeps him from forging positive relationships. a lot of it has to do with him just being overly polite, but he refuses to make the first move with anything, or communicate what HE wants out of something. for example, his relationship with nadaia could have progressed so much faster if he had just,,, told her what he wanted. she had to make a lot of the first moves in the relationship because he just,, doesnt know how to take chances i guess !!! we love a Deeply Flawed king

Vice: What bad habits do they have? Is there something they would be ashamed of?

Some harmless ones are ; him talking to his cat constantly dkdskd also he has very poor time management skills so he's almost always a few minutes late, forgetting to lock his stuff up, and slouching, probably !!! some more serious ones would be like,, having sex with strangers as a coping mechanism lol, not speaking his mind and instead just letting himself be a doormat, also INTENSE avoidance of his problems (moving away to orlais for 9 years to avoid his fear of being king for example 🙃) tho i guess they fall under the same category oof.

Wardrobe: What’s their fashion style? Do they have any staple pieces?

duncan dresses nice, for the most part !!! again, it's mostly to do with growing up in court and having to keep up appearances, but also hes just. a nice bisexual boy who wants to take care of himself ykno, and that includes hygiene/clothing/grooming etc ! he's maybe a bit TOO reserved tho, he mostly wears dark colours like blacks, greys and brows, but hes been known to wears reds/blues/whites as well, and there’s a lot of subtle yet beautiful details on his more formal attire that might go unnoticed by a casual eye. a lot of his clothes are specifically tailored but he's also fond of big oversized sweaters for when hes just hanging out ! he's got a not great relationship with his body lol so he usually dresses very conservatively, with long sleeves and pants and usually more than one layer, but hes also a thot so !!! pants be TIGHT dksksksks

X-Ray: How’s their health? Any problem areas? Do they take care of themselves?

Djdjdksksndjddjkekdidksjs OKAY WELL if u have read this far than obviously u kno the answer to this question. if ur just skimming tho first of all ur valid ! second of all duncan is VERY sick. he was conceived when ella and alistair where still searching for the joining cur, so basically he inherited the darkspawn taint x 2 and nearly died a bunch of times as a baby/young child. obviously idk how the cure storyline is gonna resolve but my hc is that bc the darkspawn taint is something he was BORN with, not just something that happened to him via ritual, his body is much more impacted by it so even if they are able to find a cure, it wouldnt work THAT well and his health would still suffer bc of the prolonged damage. so physically, he deals with a LOT – intense migraines, insomnia, nausea, fatigue, problems with breathing and fevers and stuff. obviously mentally hes.... not doing great either, tho he’s trying his best. sometimes his insomnia gets so bad he starts hallucinating visions from his darkspawn nightmares, and sometimes he just feel paranoid in general that he's actually an Evil Darkspawn and hes just somehow managed to convince everyone hes a normal person – sort of a weird blend of imposter syndrome and body dysmorphia its. complicated. anyway he has very low self esteem and tends to think hes a huge inconvenience to everybody, and when he was a teenager he went thru a period where he was very suicidal, and ANGRY and afraid 😔 he’s doing better though, now that he has learnt how to manage most of his symptoms and he's not suffering in denerim court. nadaia is also a huge help, though he tries not to become too heavily reliant on her, since he's had bad experiences with depending too much on other people.

Yack: What’s their favorite thing to talk about? What do they go on about?

skskdkdk im already crying hehe 🙂 duncan is so introverted and self conscious of being “Too Much" for other people so he tends to keep his thoughts/interests to himself and stick w just. boring small tall or non invasive questions relating to the other person. BUT if u show an interest and he trusts u then oh boy. hes an absolute dork. he loves talking about magic and having really intense conversations abt the technical sides of it (he and dorian would get along SO well) but he also loves history !!!! before he began studying at the college of enchanters he received multiple ??? qualifications?? (idk if thats the right term but u kno) from the university of orlais, one of them being orlesian and ferelden history. also anything to do with the grey wardens, the blights and darkspawn for personal reasons obviously. He's a VERY good storyteller so he somehow finds a way to make even the dryest topics seem very compelling and Cool – varric would be proud !! he finds the orlesian Great Game fascinating, and he enjoys sharing wild anecdotes about the things he's seen asshole nobles get up to. thats always thrilling skdksksk ALSO. He has a secret interest in necromancy and the mortalitasi (its only a secret bc hes the heir and that wouldnt look ... great lol ) but he only ever really talks about that with nadaia, who finds that stuff almost as interesting as he does. also, finally, he loves talking about nadaia 😊😊😊😊 hes the type of guy who will always namedrop “my girlfriend" into any conversation, loves telling people about her accomplishments and how Cool she is ..... he loves her a Lot is what im getting at sksksks

Zodiac: What’s their astro sign? Does it fit? What would you pick, if it’s unknown?

duncan is a pisces babey like his mother !!! tho he could also be a virgo but,,, i think for now pisces works better for him. he's very smart and introspective and creative, but he has some issues with critical thoughts, avoidance and melancholy like ive mentioned. also pisces is a water element so i guess that makes even more sense, since hes an ice mage 👌👌👌

okay so i finished love, victor a while ago and i saw some other reviews and thoughts about it here so now i've got a pretty good list on my thoughts and feelings.

tl;dr: it has some issues, yes, but im gonna hold out and hope it gets better later on because the same thing happened with the first few eps, i wasn't that into it but then it got good, and nothing is ever great with the first season, because at that point we're getting used to those characters.

⚠️caution: spoilers ahead (im on mobile, i cant get an under-the-cut)⚠️

1. while a leah on the offbeat movie would have been amazing movie sequel (even tho i havent read the book yet, im just here for the wlw content) i am kind of glad we got this instead. mostly because I've seen book series where one movie was good, so they decide to do the rest, turn out bad (hunger games? divergent? percy jackson? the hobbit?) because so much was cut from the book-to-first movie writing, that other scenes wouldn't make sense to future movies if they had those in while cutting others. however, i am sad that i didn't get to make the choice of deciding whether what was cut was wrong etc. about future movies, but i'll take what i can get.

2. LGBTQ+ POC as a lead! that's amazing! as a ace/bi lantina that's close to home (it also is great that victor's from texas and so is ya gorl) and even then it's a mixed latinx family! i think pilar mentioned that at least the grandmother left Colombia and i saw the Puerto Rican flag in victor's room. also the salazar's are definitely from small town texas, even without knowing the name. (church barbeques, the use of the words "such a diverse city" in regards to atlanta)

3. a lack of actual lgbtq+ main storylines (so far) is kind of sad for a show like this. i was getting serious bi/pan vibes (as a lot of other people) from victor from the beginning, and when it was implied that victor was actually gay (while great, not shaming) as it has been brought to my attention, there was a lot of looking at a lot of straight relationship problems (please let us know more about benji)- edit 6/18: upon further consideration, it very much is a show about questioning your sexuality, I'm speaking about the other straight relationship issues, not mia and Victor's, its just the first season.

4. let us talk about cheating for a sec. never okay, in any circumstance. i feel sorry for mia that she saw victor making out with benji and the fact that he was doing any of that in the first place. victor made a choice to lie about the espresso machine and then kissed benji at the hotel and then when benji was fighting with derek, basically confessed his love and mistakes, then proceeded to makeout with benji after he broke up with derek, he built that grave and now he must lie in it. i get having feelings for a guy when you are in a relationship with a girl, and not accepting yourself enough to end that relationship but you really want it to work so you can be "normal". really, he should have told mia after he got back from the trip tho. i get being in highschool and doing stupid stuff and making dumb decisions, but for a show aimed at teens i think we should also remind said teens to make good choices even if we have to lose some realism within the character choices.

4. pilar and her decisions based off her brother pissed me off. because i honestly think that if she'd kept her mouth shut about what she knew or confronted victor about it in the first place we could have avoided a LOT of mess. did she not learn from snooping around her mother's business about her relationships that going behind a person's back doesnt end well? i did, however, like the pilar/felix friendship and was really kind of hoping that they'd get together during their coffee hangout (although now im glad that didn't happen) because they had a deeper understanding of each other. same with wendy/felix, although they do seem to much alike to work out in the long run but i still feel bad for wendy.

5. i don't know how i feel about lake and andrew, as people separate from each other. both seem to be the way they are from their upbringing (not confirmed why andrew is such an ass, but if his comment about his dad is anything to go by i bet it's got something to do with attention) but andrew seems to be less, idk, superficial? like he turned down mia because he didn't want to be a rebound, he didn't out victor, he actually stood up to early teasing the other dudes in the lockerroom were doing at victor (with teasing of his own obviously but that interaction had him on my nice list until much later). lake? lake. i honestly don't have an opinion of her? not really. i mean after hanging out with pilar i was hoping felix wouldn't go back to lake. is her name laken? i feel like her full name is laken. but they also played the "im only like this because my mom is really superficial about stuff and i do like the geeky nice guy but appearances" to "actually screw the norms im gonna makeout with him infront of the whole student body". i honestly thought she was gonna be bi because she kept hitting on mia when she was helping set up for her "date" and "big night" and there was one point where i saw her face fall at something mia said in relation to her and idk i was hoping she'd be bi (i figured early on that victor/mia wasnt gonna work and was like "oh mia/lake would be cute" but now idk.

6. okay on to the "big night", i have one word. NO. i didn't like the peer pressure into having sex. i agreed with felix when he said "your body your choice" but im also disappointed that victor made out with mia and when lake was talking to felix after victor left he didn't try to stand up for victor.

7. on to age gaps because i hadn't really thought of this at first. we'll start with benji/derek: WHAT GRADE IS BENJI?! because that determines my thoughts. if he's a sophomore that meant that he and Derek started dating benji's freshman year and thats eugh, don't do that, don't care if its a gay couple that shouldn't be happening because the maturity of the two characters is DRASTICALLY different (this is also a reason i am not a fan of cmbyn) but that would explain why they were so rocky. hoping the event at the gay bar was open to anyone not just for drinking, but not liking that fact that not one of the adults with victor were like: hey, this is a 16 year old, that's kind of wack when that dude was hitting on victor. that made me question some stuff. although i figure it might be making up for the lack of a gay bar scene in love, simon. but even then, in svthsa it's a restaurant with a bar that some people go to just to drink at, it wasn't just a bar, simon could be there but should NOT have accepted drinks from college kids, not matter how attractive.

8. i loved how bram and simon and their friends helped victor out though. i like how bram was like: hey i know my friends are a lot so here's a gay basketball league becaue there's no one way to be gay. i like how Simon talked about needing help himself just to help victor and how he said his friends were cool with it because it's a community. i like of justin(?) mentioned how being what his parents wanted was putting on a mask and pretending, not him doing drag. my favorite lines from that ep are: "and before you ask my pronouns are they/them/theirs" "'they're all gay? even that guy? he's like [insert really tall number]' 'yeah. you should see him in heels'" "or in simon's case: really unathletic" "and also because bram said that if i wore [the jean jacket] one more time he'd burn it". also katya was there. and the group hug too!

9. the back hand homophobia in relation to family is sad, but realistic and i sincerely hope his parents are kind enough not to be too harsh on victor because of it. anything they say that isn't positive or supportive of victor is bad but i hope they realize that there is more to him than that and that they can come to terms with it because it's not always that hard to be a part of that community and super religious. i am biromantic and catholic. and while there are some things i wont agree on my mom with, i know that it's more of a strike against God for kicking out gay kids from families than it is to be gay, because those parents were given trust by GOD to love those kids no matter what, and be good parents. so in the end, the parents are wrong and harmful and in the case of christians against jesus's teachings to love everyone.

10. this is fan speculation but dont think simon/bram are going through a rough patch? i honestly think it'd be a little cruel to the characters to have on of their actors be producing but then not have that relationship stay. and while it's not set in stone and obviously things happen in the real world, we have no proof script wise about there being a rift. all we have are bad photoshopped ig photos and scenes where two characters are never standing next to each other probably beccaue schedules never link up correctly for minor characters. who knows, maybe nick robinson was filming for a movie where is does have an even more major role than victor's gay guru in a series about victor so his filming time was around that. im gonna keep hope that things are okay.

11. that being said: we need more mainstream wlw content, because someone said it earlier and it really does seem to be catering to straight girls. i'll admit i did freak out when benji played call me maybe which is something i associated with him and victor but then kissed a guy because who wouldn't? we get that serenade and sweetness and then it'a ripped from us. but i did mellow out. if i flipped later it was because victor was making dumb decisions and i had to give myself a moment of compsure before i continued.

in the end, i'd say that there is a lot of growth this series needs to go through, but i also know that some people just aren't going to like it and i get that. but i also know that sometimes the best of stories have rocky starts, nothing is ever perfect from the beginning. and besides, further seasons are on hold until we figure out this covid thing, which means that you bet they're gonna be looking at our feedback. they saw what we thought before, they can do it again

i really did like it but we need more ACTUAL lgbtq+ relationship stuff from this series and better decisions on what we are teaching the younger generations, as well as what we want to focus on and realism within characters. i'm giving it an 8/10, because there is always room for growth and i really hope we get better things out of this than what we have been given in season 2.

A/N: I accidentally posted the request before I finished LOL. So I don’t know much about Tsundere relationships, but I did some reading on it just before I started writing and I hope I did the request some justice! Also I’m literally Kankuros bitch <3

✎ Tsundere relationship! (Hidan, Kank, Naruto)

Kankurō

Ahh, where to start? I think you’ll meet on a mission co partnered with the Leaf...

You and Shikamaru are sent to assist the Sand on a mission. Now, we already know Kankurō is a bit of a sassy mf when it comes to the Leaf like I think he whole heartedly believes the Sand is superior and you also have those feelings about your own village... So there’s an instant dislike for one another. Kinda like an instant rivalry.

Literally the first thing you say to him is “So, the Sand can’t take care of their own missions?” And that sets Kankurō off, “What, how dare you- ack! Temari, that hurt! I’m not gonna let her walk all over us like that, I’ll fight you right now you Leaf Village bi- ow! Temari!” Shikamaru has to hold you back LMFAOO you’re ready to throw hands “Huh, what’s that? Sounds like you’re really determined for me to kick your ass?” He lowkey liked when you said that to him lol.

Anyways, the two of you are bickering the whole entire way to the missions destination. You’ll tease eachother about anything and everything you can. So, once you find out about his puppet master jutsu its only natural that you fall on the floor with laughter. Like full on tears and strangled breathing. Now this is something you can really tease him about.

“What! You still play with dolls? I bet you have little sleep over parties with them and do their hair-“

You’re cut off because he tries to trap you in the Ant. Temari has to strangle him and force him to let you out. You’re lucky he didn’t iron maiden your ass LMFAOO.

This is the kind of the energy you guys carry whenever you see eachother from now on. He’ll see you more often too because you carry out a lot of Leaf and Sand allied missions and duties. Rip to anyone who gets put on a mission with you two tbh.

But on one particularly hard mission it ends up down to the two of you fighting off like 10 enemies. He’s trying to focus on fighting them, but he can’t stop thinking about if you’re okay. His distractedness earns him a particularly hard blow.

You end up having to fight off the remaining enemies yourself, all the while protecting him. The last thing he remembers is you screaming his name when he gets hit and the fear that was in your eyes at seeming him like that. It slowly turns to anger and then you kick the bad guys asses. He’s like half conscious but is laying there like: whatta bad bitch. Then he passes out.

Starts to really admire you after that and his comments aren’t as snarky when he sees you next. It’s more like little jabs and teases because that’s how he shows his affection, but they were no longer the hardcore roasts he’d dish out before. You probably stop flaming his ass too because let’s be real here; you’ve both obviously been attracted to each other from the start you just didn’t want to admit it.

Like cmon, he didn’t wait for you at the gates every single time he knew you were visiting just to insult you first. No. He came there to see your cute ass first!!Same goes for you, like you didn’t take all the missions to the Sand for nothing. You came there to see your fav hot headed puppet master.

He’ll ask you out a few months later, when you end up at the Sand again. Probably takes you to dinner before going back to his place. I 100% see him showing you his puppets and this time you’ll actually show your interest and not just tease him lol. Probably ends up making out with you on his workbench. Ok that’s all.

Naruto

You meet eachother for the first time at Ichirakus. Second to Naruto, you actually bring in the most cash for the place. So it’s surprising you two had never met each other before.

Until now of course. He’s just gotten back from a long mission and he’s dying for some ramen. He strolls right in and orders a miso pork ramen, but the old man tells him there’s no more pork left.

Probably flips his shit like who tf ate it all?? Then the old man points at you. You’re sitting there chowing down you’re literal 15th bowl, the giant stack of empty bowls next to you proving it. You watch the blondie charge right at you while you eat the last miso pork bowl of ramen for the day.

You put the bowl down and wipe your face just as he stops right infront of you, very close to your face. You can see the anger in his eyes, but you are not giving up. Also, the guy looks sorta comical so you basically laugh in his face which gets him more worked up.

“What are you laughing about? You just ate all of old mans pork for the day!! That last bowl is mine, believe it!” Once again you laugh in his face because you just can’t help yourself. Probably end up fist fighting eachother on the spot. Neither of you win because one of you ends up smashing into the bowl, sending it flying right at the old man. He kicks you both out, right after you pay your tab of course.

This arises a competition of who will eat all the miso pork ramen first, it goes on for a good few months. Ichirakus is swimming in your money now. Until one day, when you two arrive at Ichirakus at the same time. You basically have a show down. Unfortunately both your wallets are cleaned out and you can’t even pay off your bills anymore so you’re now indebted to the ramen place.

Narutos mission money won’t even cut it anymore and you can’t pay your debt off either. So you both have to get a job doing Ichirakus dishes until you can pay your debt off.

At first you two wanna strangle each other everytime youre in each others line of sight. But slowly — veryyyy slowly, you start to bond over your love for ramen. Like you can probably sniff the bowls before you clean them and tell instantly what ramen was eaten out of it.

You discover you both have the same favourite instant ramen, the same favourite Ichirakus order, etc... Then before you know it you actually start dating. Nobody knows how it happened because you were rivals for a good couple of months, but now all the sudden your holding hands while and eating ramen together peacefully. Mind blown.

Hidan

You’re a brand new Akatsuki member and you’re cute. Really cute. Not only was Deidara drooling over you too, Kakuzu just asked to file your taxes. Do you even do taxes? You’re a rouge ninja. Anyways, Hidan is so sure that Jashin would love to have you.

You two start taking to eachother and actually getting along pretty well, until he mentions Jashin. You shut him down so quickly after that. Like you’re not interested in his fake God, no matter how cute he is.

From then on he tries to ignore you or is just super petty towards you all the time. Like you just got back from a failed mission with your Akatsuki partner and he’s at the hideout mocking you like “if you prayed to Jashin with me this wouldn’t have happened.”

Literally so fucking petty.

Anytime you suggest an idea to the Akatsuki he immediately tears it down. It doesn’t really matter when he does though because nobody really listens to Hidan anyways, it’s just annoying.

You two get put on a mission together one day because Kakuzu has some important money buisness to take care of. Hidans so pissy about it, “oh come on! Out of everybody you picked y/n? She doesn’t even respect my religion, how are we supposed to work together!?” Kakuzu just looks at him and is like “Hidan, I don’t care about Jashin either.”

Butthurt the whole journey. If you guys get bombarded or run into trouble he probably doesn’t even bother backing you up. If anything he tries to feed you to them LMFAOOO. Such a jerk.

Then, once he thinks that all the bad guys are gone he turns to you all confidently because you got your ass whooped and he’s like “see, I bet if you prayed to Jashin you wouldn’t be injured this bad-“

An enemy just stabbed him right through the chest and he watches the look of shock on your face. That’s when he gets an idea. He falls on the floor super fucking dramatically and you have to take the last guy down for him.

Then you kneel next to him and cradle his body because yes he was such a petty bitch but he actually started to grow on you. So you cry and in this distressed moment you probably even attempted to pray to Jashin because you’re desperate as fuck.

This bitch really makes his eyes flutter open and is like; “y/n?” Really fucking plays off that he was unconscious, “Jashin... Jashin saved me.”

Your ass just got clowned but I mean you believe it because like he just got stabbed right through the heart. Even immortal people should die if they were stabbed in the heart, right? It seemed like it was the case.

So yah he basically just emotionally manipulated you into being semi interested in his religion.

Then he stops being petty with you and probably asks you to sleep with him as an offering to Jashin. “It’s only fitting! He just saved my life afterall.”

Hey, Hazel. How would you go about writing Zoro because mann do I struggle with writing a few characters but especially Zoro

Hi love!

Like most characters the way I write Zoro is 60% gut feeling and the headcanons that float around in my head about him, with 40% canon facts sprinkled in! So this explanation will be a mix of that mixed with some views and reasoning why i write things that way.

As with most characters: (re)watching clips of them and going to the Wiki are my first go-to's for quick referencing!

Zoro is both very simple and complicated.

He's got a handful of habits that are pretty straightforward:

Sleeps 3-4h a night only, fills up the day with naps but during those he's 9/10 still at least a little bit conscious, just in case something goes wrong.

Is incredibly, INSANELY loyal to Luffy. And by default the rest of the crew.

I have said it before and I will say it again. His inner compass is a straw duct taped onto a stale cookie.

He trains vigorously. One can never bee "too strong" and there's always room for improvement.

He likes his drinks and the occasional party, as long as there's some of that good good sake involved.

That's as far as straight up habits and facts come, and are the characteristics most easy to get a base idea from. You can never go wrong with dragging any of those into your writings. It's the stuff that makes him immediately recognizable to most of the fandom. He's disciplined, strong, sometimes a little stupid, but never really dumb. (Which is an important nuance)!

Then theres more nuanced parts to his personality. But these are wide open for interpretation. This is how I see (and thus mostly write ) Zoro.

First and foremost. I think Zoro is downright hilarious. He's one of my favorite characters because I just think he's so funny (and not always intentionally).

He's got his calm moments, but when things happen, he can have over the top reactions as most of the One Piece characters do. Zoro's usually are screaming and I love him.

He makes the funniest deadass remarks. Just very casually he'll interject something in the background and it'll be 100% observational humor.

The fact that he gets lost so often, but absolutely refuses to acknowledge just how bad his sense of direction is.

He knows manners and can be perfectly polite and well-mannered, but sometimes simply chooses not to (one of my favorite moments is him drinking from Luffy's huge sake cup with his hands as the straw hat grand fleet is formed).

He is very instinctual. Again, not dumb, just, sometimes his body is faster than his brain. This can give some hilarious situations as well as great softer moments where his quick instincts save the day.

That's only a handful of his funny things, there's more, but for the sake of not making this too long im rounding off here.

He's got his dumbass moments, but Zoro understands the (pirate) world and the way it works very well. When the situation calls for it, he'll be able to strategise properly for a fight, and knows his captain has the last word. He's respectful of that, no matter how much of a dumbass that captain sometimes is.

Another thing that's pretty important is his relationship with the other strawhats. He trusts and respects them SO MUCH. There is banter, sure, especially with Sanji, but as someone with 3 siblings that are younger than me, all adults and all still living under the same roof, thats the kind of fights we have too. And in the end, if Sanji says he'll handle something serious, Zoro will let him. If one says he'll protect x or y, they will. Bickering aside they all trust each other with their lives!!

God this is becoming so long. Let's add in some romantic ideas and then I'll be on my way, I am sorry for making you read all this, this is so friggin long 😂.

Zoro is pretty protective by nature, he's gonna be extra protective in a relationship.

You can pry this out of my cold, dead, hands, but Zoro would be a phenomenal dad. The episode with the little kids? How he's interacting with little chopper and just being that extra little bit softer? My heart is aflame.

he says the most romantic shit by accident, but is not one for purposeful serenades and romantic declarations (leave that to the shitty perverted cook).

He's a little awkward. He doesnt want to hurt his partner and knows he can be too rough. There's so much muscle after all and he's not used to being soft or delicate and will never be. He'll do his best though unless his partner asks for rough.(interpret that any way you want)

Drinking together. Naps together!

He's competitive! Even towards his partner. Challenges and such are things he won't back down from!

He's not that great at taking initiative but will very rarely complain when you drag him along. Just happy to spend time with his partner.

All this, little snippets, mixed with yoru fantasy and whatever you want to select from canon, are generally what I make of Zoro! Honestly, he's pretty fun to write with, and once you start stepping away from the idea "big muscly man be strong always grumpy" you'll have so much to work with! His laughs are rare, but sunshine personified. He's got so much emotions and facets to him, you can pick up any single one of them and just run with it!

Have fun writing, looking forward to see more of your writing (with Zoro and others!) and just generally have fun with it, and then the writings will automatically turn out better ❤.

i finished s2! finally! so uh, mad spoilers ahead for that ig

so ummmmmm holy shit. i liked tosh and owen's death scene bc of the "you're breaking my heart" moment. it made me dfvsshkjvnfskkgsfkv ya know. and tosh's death message?? "i hope i did good"???? uGH wow. ik it's farfetched, but i like to think that tosh and ianto are good friends out of work (we dont see it bc they're both pretty professional and reserved), and tosh left ianto a lil message on his laptop.

and the thing w grey?? kinda fishy idk. first, he looked like tobias from divergent and i kept getting sidetracked thinking abt that. second,,,,,,,,,,, why? like, why? why he gotta be evil?? ik they needed a big Villáin for the s2 finale, and jack's ex (?) in the ugly marching band jacket said that he found grey earlier in the season, but. just,, could we give jack a break? please?? he's a dick but he still needs a break. and idk if this is just me having another Dumbass Moment, but i think the reason grey hates jack is so fucking dumb. ya, he let go of his hand. bc he thought grey could follow him. or maybe he just let go accidentally. imo it would've happened whether grey was holding jack's hand or not.

i do think its cool that john hart and his ugly marching band jacket are staying in cardiff. hopefully 1) he'll change his clothes and 2) we'll get to see some top tier shenanigans sometime.

i also watched the first ep of s3! and since im a doctor who fan first and foremost: aw yeahhhh twelve's there!! ik the bbc just likes to reuse actors, but im still happy abt that.

the exploration of ianto and jack's relationship is fucking gorgeous. i thought we'd just get occasional moments like we have in the past, but rn it's fucking constant. im drowning in the sappiness and im so happy abt it.

and the scene where rhiannon's like "dont worry, i'll keep it a secret," and then her husband walks in and goes "ay, gayboy!" to ianto is so relatable. the way he just glares at rhiannon, like ":/ really??" me too dude.

i already know that ianto dies in a place called the thames house, and i think that name was mentioned in this episode, so um yikes. i reckon he's gonna die in the season finale tho, so we got a bit of time left. and uh, how is there another season after that?? its just jack and gwen?? god i hope we get a parallel ending to jack's past torchwood team tho. like, ianto dies and jack just sort of loses his spark. but both him and gwen carry on bc the planet still needs protecting. gwen knows that they're both being run ragged, bc of the absence of their most efficient team member. so she hires a new recruit who's suited for the job. things run as smoothly as they could in that situation, but the New One (dunno what to call them) comes back to the hub one night to find jack sitting next to gwen's corpse. she's bleeding from a bullet wound in her head. jack's staring down at something resting in his lap, apathetic as ever. the new recruit is horrified.

"sir? what happened? is that- is that gwen?"

jack looks up at the new recruit. he looks very, very tired.

"it was a mercy killing. change is coming, and we're not ready. we'll never be ready." he says, and stands up. a piece of alien-looking tech clatters to the floor. the new recruit freezes, but jack doesn't do anything except walk past them and out of the hub with an air of finality.

sorry, i got carried away. ik that lil thing didnt make much sense (im not really a writing person) but im just sayin, if we get a sad ending, i want some sick parallels in the meantime.

anyway those are my disjointed thoughts on torchwood!! feel free to discuss, and if anyone knows how to do the "read more" thing on mobile, please tell me lol.

this is a very long post about an OC i wrote for Fallout New Vegas.

i never got around to actually laying out Julius’ whole story line, and i don’t think i ever will, so im gonna summarize it. (it ended up being kinda long sorry) im gonna put it under a read more but idk what that means for mobile users, please forgive me. blacklist ‘fonv’ or ‘Courier: Julius’ if you don’t wanna see this.

-gets shot by Benny -wakes up in Goodsprings with absolutely no memories, no name, and INT. 1 -sets out on a journey motivated by nothing else other than finding Benny and killing him. -meets Vulpes in Nipton, likes him a lot. has no idea what or who The Legion is. -meets Arcade in Freeside after getting stabbed, likes him a lot too. (these are conflicting interests.) -stays in Freeside for a short while helping people (the kings, the followers, etc.) forms a strong friendship with Arcade. -makes it to The Strip, kills Benny, finishes his delivery, tells House to fuck off. -travels back to The Fort to meet with Ceasar and see Vulpes again, brings Arcade. -Caesar gives him the name Julius. Vulpes gives him a Legion brand on his left shoulder blade. (this is important for later) -becomes very attached to Vulpes (has a strong romantic interest in him), forms a father-son like bond with Caesar, easily becomes a stand in for Joshua Graham in Caesars life except a whole lot dumber. (extreme endurance and blood lust.) -relationship with Arcade becomes strained to the point that Arcade decides to break things off and abandon him. -kills Arcade to stop him from leaving him, falls into a depression. -takes work with the Happy Trails Caravan to distract himself from how upset he is, doesn’t tell anyone he’s leaving. -meets Joshua Graham in Zion, they are similar but very different. -Joshua tries to get him to leave, because he reminds him too much of Ceasar and the Legion, but Julius refuses, and explains why he can’t go home. -spends a lot of time with Joshua Graham, learns about God, doesn’t really understand it, but he likes him. quickly forms a father-son like bond with Joshua as well. In this time, he works though his regret and depression surrounding Arcade’s death. -helps defeat the While Legs, but doesn’t let Salt Upon Wounds be spared. -tries to convince Joshua Graham to come back to the Mojave with him because he needs him, but Joshua refuses. (he stills gives him a set of those sweet clothes though) -before he leaves, Joshua urges him to try and reevaluate his choices concerning Caesar and the Legion. -returns to the Mojave and The Fort in those sweet ass clothes. Everyone thought he was dead. -tells Vulpes and Caesar about his cool trip. Caesar thinks it’s bittersweet. Vulpes thinks it’s stupid. -gets sent on a recon mission at Camp Mccarran, where he comes into contact with his sister who he has no memory of. She is an NCR soldier. -she tries to talk to him, using his real name, which is Marc-Antony. she reveals to him that they were both NCR soldiers, but he left due to being tired of the NCR’s ways. -he has no memory of this, and doubts it as fact. however, she reveals to him that they both has NCR tattoo’s on their left shoulder blades. -when she tries to show him this, she finds that his has been branded over with the Legion bull. by telling him this, he realizes Vulpes knew the whole time that he was former NCR, and didn’t tell him. -he still tries to deny that his sister is telling him the truth, and leaves Camp Mccarran with unwanted information, and a migraine. -over the next few weeks, he starts to get more unwanted memories about his life, and starts to pull away from Vulpes and Caesar, no longer trusting them. he believes they have used him as a blank slate because he was without memories and willing to comply with whatever they wanted from him. -regains full memories of his life as Marc-Antony, and can’t reconcile that with the life he’s been living as Julius. this leads to him abandoning his place at the Fort and hiding out in the Mojave while he tries to make sense of his life. -while hiding out, he get’s the Mysterious Radio Broadcast on his pip boy and decides to investigate it, ends up in Big MT. -gets lobotomized by the scientists there. -has a lot of time to reflect on his life and his choices while trying to find a way out of Big MT. -once he finally helps the scientists, and settles things between the Think Tank and Mobius, he decides to ask them if they can remove his memories before they give him his brain back. -they comply, and he decides to rid himself of the memories of Marc-Antony’s life, deciding he was much happier as Julius, in his life with Vulpes and Caesar. -returns to the Fort, where everyone thought he was dead once again. -Vulpes is especially happy to see him back to his old self, and not distant like he had been before he disappeared. -Caesar sends him to battle at the Hoover Dam. They win. -he lives a relatively happy life with Vulpes for a few years. -due to his incredibly bad karma, one day while he’s partaking in his favorite drink Sunset Sarsaparilla, he accidentally drops a bottle of it on the ground, the cap flies off and hits him in the forehead, killing him instantly.

-important notes that would be explained further in detail if i ever actually wrote this in depth like i want to- -Julius is compelled to collect eyeglasses. this is because Marc-Antony actually needs glasses to see clearly, Julius just thinks the world is a bit blurry. -Julius adds Arcade’s eyeglasses to his collection once he is dead. -Julius routinely sends Joshua Graham letters from the Fort once he returns, but Joshua never writes back. -Julius favorite food is Radscorpion Venom Casserole, but he can almost never eat any because he chews on the inside of his cheeks. -Once he gets those clothes from Joshua Graham, he never takes them off.

put this off for so long and i have no idea why? i’m bad at expressing my thoughts :/

favorite thing about them?

i could go on for days about things i love about luke skywalker. i think now though, after seeing the sequels; i have a lot more respect for his unconditional love for those around him. he doesn’t even have to think, he just cares! he just loves! people he doesn’t know anything about, he cares!

something that immediately comes to mind is luke seeing del meeko struggling, crying out for help... in his imperial uniform. and yet, luke didn’t hesitate for a second to help him.

this is something super important to me because that is such an important personal belief of mine, and i think a lot of that might have to do with growing up watching star wars: we have to love other people. and luke does, and i love him for that!

least favorite thing about them?

there’s nothing now that i don’t like about him (keep in mind, i don’t count the sequel trilogy. i just can’t.), so i’m just going to say what i thought as a child: i never saw why everyone liked him so much! like yeah, he’s great and i liked him, but i was always so confused as to why princess leia wasn’t the face of star wars (as a child), because she was truly a badass and as a kid i thought luke was kinda a pussy. also i thought han solo was far more interesting, and was always upset that (growing up as the prequels were coming out) the only original trilogy toys we would see at the store would be luke and vader. i just didn’t get it. now, obviously, i’m gay and i understand :)

favorite line?

god these questions are so hard. i mean there are lines that i definetly think are important to his character (”I can not leave you here, i’ve got to save you.” etc), or certain scenes i tend to favor (the “take care of yourself, han” scene in iv, checking to see if dak is still alive before the at-at crushes the speeder), but there isn’t a specific line i like the most?

edit from while i’m working on questions further down: when he yells “Han? Leia!” and falls, and of course right after “but they’re my friends, i’ve got to help them!” definitely ties back into how much he loves other people (especially his friends, even if his love puts himself in danger), and his loyalty. something i was thinking about the other day is that there are a total of three scenes in episode v where he interacts with han (one of which he’s practically dead, and the other is mostly spent just looking at one another), and yet, you never get the feeling that they’re growing apart, or moving on, have better things to do etc.

brOTP?

i love how close luke and chewbacca get in even just the course of the first movie! i’m also always a sucker for luke and leia being like best pals even before they knew they were twins. I love the idea of them just like chillin’ in eachother’s room. not even really talking, just maybe leia is doing some paperwork and look is reading or something. we love to see it.

OTP?

i’m a skysolo bitch, i’m sorry. I just think they work so well together! even not in a relationship way, it’s hard to not think that they came into eachother’s lives at such an important time for them- a time when that’s exactly what they needed. it’s something i think about quite a lot, that let’s say for whatever reason my boy george made luke and leia both girls. there’s not a DOUBT in my mind that luke and han would have been the most popular “ship” at the time of it’s release. idk. i think about it. come talk to me about skysolo please! or better yet, send me a fic request! (absolutely no nsfw requests though.)

that being said, if we’re going off of canon and not the one that has been filtered through daydream after daydream for 10+ years, and that han/luke’s relationship is never established, here are a few of the people that i think luke had a relationship with: biggs, wedge, del, definitely lando at some point. idk. luke’s got a lot going on, LOVE that for him!

random headcanon?

i day dream about star wars a lot. i have so many. I think my favorite though is that tattooine has really intensely spicy foods! luke would definitely be that guy who puts tabasco sauce on everything. I have this whole theory that han solo, while he loves other cultures and foods from other planets, just absolutely can not stand even a little spicy- it kills his stomach. one time, luke was casually eating roasted veggies and offers one to han and it was so spicy that he nearly threw up. luke never let him live it down, and insists that it “wasn’t even that bad”

on the other hand, leia eats spicy food (though she doesn’t really care for it), but is always sure to decline luke’s offer whenever he offers her any sort of snack. she makes fun of han too much to be caught in a similar situation.

unpopular opinion?

okay. hear me out. i think luke is obviously an amazing jedi and i love him to bits, BUT. i don’t think he’s as powerful as everyone makes him seem! like yeah he absolutely is more powerful than most jedi ever, but there’s not a doubt in my mind that leia was the mor advanced one when it came for force sensitivity. i can’t imagine luke doing weird force things as a baby (while i absolutely can with leia. just like imagine her spinning the crib mobile above her head as a baby!)

if y’all ever saw doctor sleep, i always imagined luke as a child more like the baseball kid. he just gets a feeling about things sometimes! which is great!

this was honestly more of a hc than an unpopular opinion. but anyway. i’m right. can’t wait for the kenobi show. all i’ve wanted since i was a kid was a show about luke and leia growing up! glad we’ll get to see it!

Edit: ah heck! Ive had this queued for months, but i forgot to actually do the art haha, i’ll get something done overnight so it might be rushed and look like trash, it might look reasonably ok. Who knows at this point. I dont trust the sleepy version of myself to create anything good but hey, theyv created some stuff that wasn’t horrifying before :/

Ok, starting here i legit just start live-blogging myself staying up alnight drawing. Ignore me. I didnt know where else to say it. I’ll delete it later.

Edit 2: this isnt gonna be done. Like frick, i just spent 6 hours on miyu’s fricking hairstyle, thats all done and even shaded and looking fabulous but ive only got a rough lineart for litterally everything else. This might not be done, but if it is then her hair is gonna be a fuckign masterpiece (i hope). Im writing this edit at 1:42am, and im gonna go to bed somewhere between 4 and 5, lets go! Hell yeah! I might do this! Perhaps! Im gonna try! 3-4 sprint time! Yeah!

Edit 3: frick, im failing to do this, miserably. Its 3:03am and i got distracted playing mobile games and didn’t get anything done. My existence is futile, existentially im a waste and I should not exist. The atoms within me deserve to be part of something better. Sorry. I’m a f*ck up and unless I get my sh*t together in the next like 5 mins (unlikely) then this aint gonna be finished.

Edit 4: ok, meltdown like 20% over. Its 3:52am, I think the issue then was the face. Faces r hard bruh, they suck do draw. They a festive lil ho ho ho. I was drawing everything too high up on the face cuz my dumb *ss forgot to draw the line thingys on the face or even look at a reference image for proportions. Ive done it now amd life is now a bit more on track. Might get this done if I continue work in the morning.

Edit 4.5: nothin much (hence the .5), its 4:14am, just downed 4 cups o tea for caffeine and sugar (all the coffee we got is decaf lol). I’m gonna get this sh*t done! Ive litterally only coloured down to the face, neck and the hair but still.... I’m gonna get it done anyway! I dont care about going to bed between 4-5 anymore! I’m getting this done!

Edit 5: its less than ten mins later (4:22am) and im taking a quick 20m break to watch youtube while I wait for the caffeine to kick in because im too braindead to continue right now. Like what art style am i even trying? Idk... its really fricking complex tho. Lowkey pretty tho, like if i finish this im gonna be so proud of it like it looks great. But its taking forever and im need break.

Edit 6: ok we back. Its 4:41am, caffeine has not really kicked in but i cant permit myself any more time anyway. Back to drawning.

Edit 7: holy frick, new episode of the vrains dub came out. Man... im leaving vrains fanart to watch the vrains dub. Am I obsessed? Is this hyperfixation? Probably? Either way, its 4:50am and im going to go watch the new episode. I’ll come back to this when im done.

Edit 8: HOLY FRICK GUYS! THE DRAWING APP IM USING KEEPS CRASHING AND SAYS ITS STILL THERE BUT WONT LET ME CONTINUE AND KICKING ME OFF THE APP?!?! ITS 5:06AM AND THE PANIC ATTAC IS BACC! The new episode of the dub isnt completely out yet, im watching that version on yt where its just smol clips of it. Not all the clips r up yet. I was just going on it while waiting for the next clips to go up and thats when the app did the thing and life got 280% sucky-er.

Edit: 8.5 wahoot it stopped kicking me off the app and it let me continue. Its 5:12am and we are FINALLY continuing.

Edit 9: its 5:36 Im tired sleep time I’ll finis thos in the morning goodbye yall have a greatt day

Edit 10: ok, so im a failure. We live in the timeline that god abandoned. I cannot sleep. I shall get more cups of tea, watch yt until the caffeine actually kicks in, and then continue. Its 6:03 right now, I shall be back. Perhaps half an hour?

Edit 10.5: its 6:11am. Not much has happened, just a slight change of plans. Ik its irrelevant but im liveblogging so i gotta say, my eye hurts so im gonna stop looking at screens. Perhaps gonna try to sleep again, if not then i’ll put read a book, redo my makeup (it smudgey) or straight up just listen to music and stare into the void. Litterally anything other than look at my laptop/phone. Peace out homies, i’ll be back at some point before 7 probably (unless i do go to sleep).

Edit 11: Its 6:41am, my eye hurts. Ive been staring into the darkness and listening to various fallout boy songs. Now i feel edgy. Its been half an hour, so im gonna continue drawing. Caffeine and sugar has worn off again so im tired and unmotivated but yno what, it is what it is. Aint life nifty, i gotta get this done.

Edit 12: 6:52 everything burns im in pain my eye is on frickign fire and it looks bloodshot but now also weird azz headache that i never got one like this before so im gonna turn off all lights cuz that seems to make it marginally better am i dying probably idk either way im not gonna continue for multiple hours it is stare into the void time and stare into the void time alone ok this should be the last update

Edit 13: It is 3:16pm, didn’t continue liveblogging cuz i got one heck of a migrane. Im back and well... Happy birthday Miyu for today! I’m still gonna try to get this god forsaken art done, but holy shit what is that art style i did. Its genuinely nothing like anything ive done before, I don’t remember doing any of the colouring but apparently I did and it looks better than anything ive done before and idk if non-fricked up me can replicate it. I’m starting to wonder if i got bored and just copied it or something, like idk how i did it. Look at it

i finally finished watching elite and i have so many Thoughts:

i can't add a read more because i'm on mobile but this is a #long post.

SPOILERS FOR ELITE BELOW:

ok first of all the general arc was engaging and i got super into it and i have no complaints about how they handled that.

that twist in the final episode?? fuck yeah that was awesome, thank u elite for my life.

the new interactions that watered my crops and cleared my skin: lucrecia/omar came out of nowhere and stole my heart, and i know lucrecia is a piece of shit but god, it was so good while it lasted and before she exposed his sister to the whole world. also guzman/samuel YES BITCH YES I'VE WANTED THIS SINCE FOREVER let them be friends and date

rip om*nder tbh. omar is my baby and i love him and he deserves better than someone who treated him like shit most of the season. i really hope the writers can make this better next season but since everything ended w omar once again doing emotional labour and ander not even apologizing for his shitty behaviour i have really low expectations.

i was ok with nadia and guzman in s1 but they went from 0 to 1000 in like a day so i have mixed feelings about them together now.

not gonna comment on how they handled islam and nadia and omar's religion 'cause it's not my place but from a narrative standpoint the way the family was written seemed a bit of a mess, specially nadia coming for omar's neck when he's the one who had been working his ass off and was literally kicked out, not willingly decided to leave 🤷🏻‍♀️

samuel/carla is not really my cup of tea, sorry

rebecca was cool and her friendship was nadia was so much more interesting than her pining for samuel oh my god. she's gay in my book and i will not be accepting criticism at this time.

lucrecia. OH MY GOD LUCRECIA. yes she's garbage but she's my garbage and i love her 😤 her lines this season were amazing and she literally roasted everyone at least once, #legendsonly but why why whyyy was the incest storyline a thing, what was the need other that make me wanna throw up. i hate everything.

i feel like valerio was supposed to be the addition this season but honestly i'm just like y i k e s (also his looking down on lucrecia at the end, bitch calm down you're no better)

samuel teaming up with guzman is everyhing i never knew i needed and i will cherish it forever. also kudos to him because i literally had no faith in him and he came through anyway.

cayetana is boring af, the only time i cared about her was when she was interacting with lucrecia.

polo needs to go to jail 🙂

i was glad to see nano less this season 'cause every time he shows up i wanna fight him.

the actress who plays carla is so bad alsjdhj im sorry but when she had to cry in that confession scene it was the worst acting i've seen in elite.

nadia gave me mixed feelings and idk how i feel about her this season 😔

OMAR HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG EVER IN HIS LIFE

that poor bartender guy who got beaten up for warning omar was cute and has my heart 🥺

Sorry to bother you, but I keep seeing posts about a future Goten AU and I keep getting really curious! However, when I try to find links to anything about it I end up at some abandoned URLs.

SECOND TIME TRYING TO ANSWER THIS CAUSE MY IDIOT ASS FORGOT I HAD ONE TYPED OUT AND CLOSED EVERYTHING :)

some disclaimers im getting most of this from an old draft i had written about the au, i havent watched the specific scenes in dbz and dbs that these are based on in well over 2+ years so i dont remember the timeline of events that well so im sorry if some of it just straight up doesnt make sense lol

this whole thing did start out as an excuse to replace the romantic scenes with mai in dbs with goten actually so the truten themes are pretty significant but that aside future goten is a very good boy with a much different personality and outlook on things… much like how future trunks is compared to his main timeline counterpart :3c the whole thing was developed by me and my gf together and we never rly posted too much about it and the broken links you did end up finding were probably from like the one or two times we did but here u go im glad u asked

I HOPE THE READ MORE LINK WORKS ON MOBILE IF NOT IM SORRY

the big change is it starts out with chi chi getting pregnant before goku dies of heart disease or whatever in the android saga instead of the cell saga, so even after he dies in that timeline she still has their 2nd son and he grows up in the future timeline with trunks.

when they were kids (like 10-15) goten was stronger than trunks just bc gohan and chi chi were there to teach him just a little bit. trunks and goten sparred a lot though so he was able to keep up but never really passed him. (that part isnt really important but i figured it was a nice detail that made sense)

thats when history of trunks comes into play, and they both get really serious about gohan training them. the scene in the movie where gohan knocks trunks out before flying off and getting killed is the same except now he just knocks out 2 kids instead of 1 i guess.

i feel i gotta add that this au was created when the future trunks arc in dbs was airing, and mai was introduced as his love interest, and honestly in my opinion the scenes were written really well but i just wasnt digging the fact that before she was granted a younger appearance she was already middle aged, like she was old enough to be his mom if that makes sense. so it really isnt a dig on mai at all cause i love her and id die for her its just the romantic plot that i didnt like. so when that was airing i thought “WELL what if that was someone else”

she’s still with them though in this timeline and she still has her younger appearance!

the future timeline is still progressing the same as it did in canon, the androids still wrecked the place and no one was strong enough to do much about it so trunks is still set up with a time machine to meet with the other timeline. goten stays back and does his best to protect everyone while hes gone just in case

some stuff happens in between here but skip ahead to trunks coming back from the trip after the cell games i guess! lots of stuff happened obviously like trunks literally dying, spending years in the time chamber with his dad, meeting a whole gaggle of clowns that he’d only heard stories about, seeing gohan as a preteen. hes got a lot of stuff to share!!! now hes back and he can take care of the androids + cell + and goten can catch up and lifes pretty good over there! 😇

during the rebuilding period goten would spend a lot of time with chi-chi and ox-king and still slept over there occasionally which she really appreciated, and he invited trunks and bulma over there with him frequently.

despite this he wasnt present when she died as no one really expected goku black to wipe out the landscape so far from the city, but she and ox-king died along with more than half of the population. (ugh god im so sorry queen i love you😓)

as i said before mai is still here and she’s still the leader of the resistance!

events of future bulmas death is the same as well as mai originally intending to go with trunks when they meet up together in an abandoned building. goten is already there as the three of them rest up a bit and start making their way to capsule corp. goten was planning on staying behind anyways but he wanted to see the two of them off. when goku black interrupts them as they arrive, trunks and goten encourage mai to escape, seeing as she only has a gun and everyone already knows bullets arent gonna work.

this scene is the same as it was in canon, where trunks tries to rush black but gets beaten quickly. mai trying to buy him time to let him escape is replaced with goten actually fighting him and taking a hit for trunks but getting knocked out as mai did. trunks under extreme stress from already losing his mom today assumes hes dead instantly, (he has dumb bitch disease, he didnt even check for a pulse in canon!🤔) and fires a masenko to escape into capsule on his own

after trunks pops back in time and black is focused on searching for him, mai sneaks back in to retrieve goten (even though they told her to leave she really just ducked behind some rubble and stayed close, because she wasnt just gonna leave them!)

she takes him back to an underground bunker with other members of earths resistance and when he wakes up she tells him that trunks made it to the time machine and that hes presumably in the other timeline now.

idk if yall remember it well but i rewatched some of the episodes just for this, and trunks in the main timeline believing goten was killed and mai is alone and he wont be able to get back is so sad. and when he spent that day with gohan and his family and cried thinking about how if black hadn’t have shown up, he couldve had a family too… he doesnt deserve to be this sad 😥

skip to when he’s finally able to get back home with goku and vegeta with him and they make their way to the bunker where he sees mai and goten together! the scene in canon where he rushes over and starts spilling his heart out is the same, with him telling goten he thought he died

they get a really sweet hug moment here when theyre both happy to see the other is still safe and it gives both goku and vegeta some Food For Thought, because goku actually didnt know there was a goten in this timeline, and he doesnt really recognize him at first. vegeta has the idea in his head that this is probably goten.

goten never really had any sort of real attachment to his dad. it makes sense hes never met him, hes only ever really heard about him through others, (his mom, his brother, trunks, and probably bulma has mentioned him as well) so he definitely knows OF him its just that, he doesnt know him. so when he sees the real goku standing there for once a lot of thoughts run though his mind, like, “that looks A LOT like goku black!” “thats definitely my old hairstyle” and “holy shit is that my dad?” but the first thing he actually says out loud is “Holy shit its goku orange” and vegeta really almost loses it because cause any doubt in his mind about this kid being related to kakarot just went right out the window cause only someone related to him would say that

and as you probably know a lot happens after that with them all finding a way to defeat zamasu but i dont want to include all of the rest when you can probably just interpret which scenes were changed

ANYWAYS now instead of trunks surviving the apocalypse its trunks and goten surviving the apocalypse. thats why its not a really super romantic deal like Who has time for dates when goku black Might possibly be hiding in this abandoned olive garden?? so theyre just very close and privately affectionate

the ending where trunks and mai get to live in a new world with their counterparts is the same except gotens there with them of course, dbs left their ending pretty open

so that takes care of the story changes, heres some additional details and information on gotens character in this au!

he kept his natural hairstyle for a while, but i think he changed it sometime during the rebuilding period after the androids and just let it grow out a bunch. up until then he kept his natural style purely to honor the guy he’s heard so fondly of even if it brought him a lot of mixed feelings when people said he looks just like him. a really distinct feature about his new hairstyle is that the spikes look like horns and i love that a lot !!

and the shawl he wears was the same one chi chi wore

some personality traits for future goten is that he has a habit of bottling up his negative emotions and has trouble taking care of himself, as hes always more focused on the well being of his loved ones. he can be mischievous and cocky but hes not overconfident (or he hasnt been since gohans death) however in some situations he can be charismatic and assertive which works really well imowhen their timeline is erased and theyre temporarily in the main timeline, goten gets to meet a bunch of people like gohan and his family, chi chi, and even his counterpart

Its fuckass o clock and you know what that means: Worldbuilding with obscure characters that nobody but me remembers/cares about. Because i cant have these ideas at a reasonable hour like a normal person. And i cant put a keep reading tab on this because I’m on mobile, im so sorry ;-; Okokok so like there’s already this established ‘old world order’ like seraphim are precursors to angels horsemen are a thing yada yada yada

But theres a few that arent as well known as seraphim or abominations: the aberrations, the emanations, and the cambion. So aberrations are like Old Gods in a way. Az’edreth, Tel’Vamorpheus, those types of eldritch horror-y dudes that evolved separately from other denizens. Their spheres tend to be more… esoteric i guess? Its like dreams and the vast emptiness of the void versus like, honor or chaos. The proprietor is the chaos dude. Honor is maybe the first seraphim? If they even have a sphere? Idk. I’m working on the first seraphim now. It’s going well actually. But the aberrations never changed. They didn’t create or become another subspecies. They just Exist. By the modern day, most of them have either faded away or are sleeping in some pocket of the empty dimension. Az’ed is one of the most active ones. Emanations specifically represent the 7 deadly sins and 7 heavenly virtues because let’s be real here it’s not hard to discern where most of the inspiration for this stuff comes from. They, like the aberrations, do not have a follow up species. They are considered Concepts, which are kinda like spheres that will always exist. Horsemen are similar, with death being the most Concept-y of the lot. Othri’Camos is an example of an Emanation. His sphere is Lust. Once upon a time the aberrations and the emanations were lumped together as this weird family thing but i choose to ignore that based on the fact that i made that decision in middle school. Or freshman year of high school. Whatever. It doesnt matter. The one thing that hasnt really changed since i started toying with the idea is the cambion. I need a different term for it because that’s not really what im going for but whatever, its the cambion for now and we’ll deal with that later. The concept of the cambion is decently simple. A being with the full power of an old world denizen, without the drawback of a true name hinderance. That basically means that next to nobody can use the cambion’s true name to hex/curse/otherwise take control of them. It was a myth even among the old world denizens. And then somebody in the new world screwed up And out of the fire walks the first cambion. James Henry Morgan. Whether he knows it or not, he’s pretty solidly on-par with people like the proprietor and the First Parasite. Only his sponsor/patron, a specific fallen angel, and Ithuriel the Seer know about this. None of them want to tell him. He would actually murder the world. Nobody knows how to deal with him. He’s a myth. Brought to life by the carelessness of a rogue demon and fed by on overwhelming sense of hatred. Basically, I pencilled the cambion as being a rough equivalent to the antichrist? I think? Most of my old notes have been burned or otherwise discarded. I’ll figure it out. Figuring out James’ place in everything is my next pet project. Him and the First Parasite.

My mom used to be the most important person in my life. Mostly in a bad way, I'd spend days thinking about what she thought and what she felt and what she was going to do. But even then she meant the most to me, just not in a positive way. And most of the time I knew she didn't like me and wasn't thinking about me as much, but I knew I was important to her, in the same way she was important to me.

Since I've moved out we've had three phone calls and exchanged less than ten text messages. That's one phone call for every month I've been out. We used to talk every day. Up until the day i moved out I knew every detail of who she had talked to every day and how she felt about it. I knew everything going on in her life. Yesterday she texted me a picture of my little brother captions '8th grade graduation!' I thought that was next month, I didn't even know it was coming. I don't know what they've done in the last three months. My mom started a new job. My brother graduated 8th grade.

I don't wish we talked more! I'm stressed that this dramatic lack of talking more with snap forward into her calling every day or, god, I was so so careful not to give her my address because im afraid if she had it she would just!!! Come!!!! Just come and move me out, like she did before!!!! Sometimes I park a street away or down the block because I just get Convinced that she's Here and she's gonna see my car and find out where I live!!! It's so fucking irrational and I'm fucking glad we're not talking more!!!!

But!!! She was So Important to me!!! I was So Important to her!!!!

How does a connection like that just stop? How can it just Be There and then just fucking!!! NOT Be There!!!! How did we both just turn off the part of our brains and lives that had been digging their claws and teeth into each other for Years!!! How do you turn off a motherhood??? How do you stop being someone's child???

How can conncetions feel like the only true thing in the world when they're strong!!! How!!! When they can just!!! Vanish!!!

Babies don't have object permanence but they grow out of it. When do we grow into person permanence? When do we start remembering people are still here when they stop being? When do we stop?

How do you let yourself love someone when you know it can just be turned off? Not dramatically, but some day you could just wake up and realize you don't remember the last time you spoke. Or thought about them. Not because something happened, but just because one day one of you decided not to reach out. And you both just. Kept not reaching.

My mom was the last family member I still spoke to. Not because of anything dramatic, we all five were living together, but just because. We stopped one day. I learned my sense of humor from my dad, I wanted to be the kind of man he was when I grew up, I made him sit in front of me every time I went on a playground because I loved the monkey bars but I was afraid of falling and I knew if my dad was there he wouldn't let me fall. How did that go away? That was huge, I was a child and I had such a small world and he was most of it. How does that just drain away?

My family used to joke that my little brother had three parents, mom dad and me, I loved him so fucking much it used to make me cry, I'd just break down thinking about how much I loved this little dude and how important he was to me. He graduated eight grade! I didn't know it was happening! I only hear about him through my mom! I don't know him. Not at all. And he doesn't know me.

I used to think the term 'best friend' was a more serious bond than marriage. I thought it was the strongest bond you could choose to have with someone. I used to regularly try to think of something I wasn't willing to do for my best friend and the only stumpers were 'what if she needed something to survive but was asking me not to and would feel horrible if I did do it?' and even then I was like 'well I certainly hope I'd be strong enough to still do it, even if she started crying.'

There are six people in this world I have called best friend. I have run myself through the list of things I'd be willing to do for them every time. Every one of them I swore to myself and the world and to them that we were the kind of love that grew old together.

I'm only still talking to one.

Its just scary! Terrifying! How can a love that presses so hard for so long not leave more of an imprint!!!

How! Can people! Just Leave your life! As if they weren't there! As if you hadn't been defining and defending and Loving this person! To the point it was a character trait! How can someone shape you without leaving the shape of themselves behind!!!

I'm really scared my best friend is going to start drifting.

Because, I mean, you can lose anything by just not picking it up. And we're both busy and stressed, and our schedules don't overlap well, and we just aren't talking as much. And I can't talk much either but that's the problem!!! I don't want a mutual drift but I can't change it because!!! They need time to do their shit and I need time for mine! So there's mutually no time! Which is the problem!

I feel like I'm being too clingy and, like trying to chain them to me, like I don't want them to be going out and making friends and working on their homework, I want to be their focus and I want them to be saying oh I'm so busy it sucks bc I miss you so much or like, I'm so excited for this to be over and for us to live together

And that's not how I want to be! I don't like or jive with any of that! I spent fucking years at this point Wishing Desperately that I could do anything to help them get out and make friends where they were!!!

I guess it's just with moving out and seeing something I'd defined myself by for so so so many years just vanish and watching my roommates all break up with each other and make plans to move apart after living together for so long I'm just. Extra scared. About how easily we move out of each other's lives. And how scared I am of being left behind.

Idk man :/ sometimes there's just shit that sucks :/

a/n: ngl the title’s from b99 lol and honestly i feel like this is uhh off bc ive been off for the past week(s) but hey hello. also this was typed up on my laptop so idk how fucked up it’ll look on mobile but i honestly have no expectations at this point. also i saw something about the keep reading feature not working on mobile so im sorry in advance for the people who would scroll through this whole ass thing i swear i tried

It's unnecessary.

Whatever this is you're feeling right now, you know it only ever brings miscommunication and unwarranted fights in relationships, or at least that's the case from what you've seen.

You hate yourself for feeling this way, even more so as you think of Bucky—how good of a partner he is and how he makes you feel. You almost want to walk over to him and tell him you're sorry, if only the feeling isn't so unapologetic itself, rooting you to the ground and twisting your insides.

You look away, sighing and knowing that it's only a matter of seconds before you're looking in their direction again, torturing yourself even further.

This is dumb, this is stupid, this is unnecessary, it's childish, it's very unhealthy.

"Hey, babydoll." And then he's wrapping his arms around you and kissing your temple, and suddenly the ugly feeling dissipates, and your thoughts quiet down, even the ones you're using to counter the negative ones. It always feels like this in his arms—serene, calm, like everything wrong in your world's suddenly gone.

"Hey," you turn your head to look at him, smiling as you raise your hands and cradle his face with it.

"How you doin'?" he asks, hand automatically coming up to your waist, exactly where the huge bruise is forming from a pretty bad hit you took on your last mission.

"Good," you lie, "what about—"

Before you can finish your sentence, a knock on the clear glass wall separating the room you're in and the office for the other SHIELD agents outside sounds around the room, drawing your attention to the already open door.

"Sorry," she says apologetically, her eyes on you before turning to Bucky. "Buck, it's time to go."

Buck. You almost scoff at the nickname, but you swallow it down, hands falling from his face to your sides. You hate the way it rolls off her tongue, all smooth and beautiful sounding with a voice that could pretty much make the most ridiculous things sound alluring. You don't dare think of what Bucky thinks of it, how he must really like how it sounds. How it may not be just a stupid nickname of an already-nickname anymore, like how it probably does when you say it.

"It's alright," He smiles at her, and your heart plummets to your feet.

You want to yell out no, that it's not okay. She interrupted the first time you've talked in almost a week with all of these missions and planning and—

You plaster a smile on your face just as he turns to you, nodding.

This is dumb, this is stupid, this is unnecessary, it's childish, it's very unhealthy.

She's smart, beautiful, and a damn good agent. You have no reason to be rude to her. It's not her fault they were partnered up because you couldn't go. Because you took a lot of bad hits from last week's mission and you needed to rest. Because you're not really half as good as her, and if you were, you wouldn't have been injured. Because you—

"'Kay, baby, I need you to be our eye, okay? Need you to be lookin' 'round the area through the cameras while we follow our guy around.”

You hate how he's talking to you, absolutely fuming from it. He doesn't talk to her that way. Or anyone for that matter. He doesn't talk to anyone like they're five-year-olds who needed extremely dumbed down instructions, like he can't use big tactical words because you won't understand.

You want to push him off you, push him to her and tell them to get the fuck on with it while you wait in the surveillance room like a dumb piece of—

You nod, smiling at him tersely, and then turning your gaze to look at her to do the same.

"We'll be quick. This is a stakeout more than anything. Annissa's good at this, right?" He looks over at her and smiles again.

And suddenly you don't know what you hate more, the way he talks to you or the way he talks to her.

You step away from him, looking down as you gather your things. "Okay. I'll be there. You two should get going." you say, trying to even out your voice as much as possible.

You smile at the both of them one more time before walking out of the room, half of it because you don't want to be in the same vicinity as the two of them anymore, and half of it because you don't want Bucky catching on. You can't risk him knowing what you feel. It's stupid and childish and ugly. This is a mission, not a goddamn situation planned out solely to cause you to be...jealous. God, the thought of the word alone makes you want to gag. The world doesn't revolve around you or your relationship.

It's not a personal attack against your insecurities, it's a mission. Or at least that's what you try to remind yourself as you watch them get in a cafe. The very same one you and Bucky frequent in your days off.

"Woah, it's pretty...dark in here," Wanda says as she enters the room, making you turn around in your chair and look at her.

You blink at her. "The lights are on."

"I'm not talking lights, sweetie." She smiles tauntingly, gesturing to you. "It's your...aura."

"First of all, don't sweetie me. Second, no it's not." You roll your eyes, turning back to the screens in front of you.

"Ah," she draws out, taking a seat next to you. You side-eye her, seeing her eyes glued to the screen. "I see."

You cross your arms, setting your blank gaze onto the screen and blatantly ignoring her comment.

"Actually you know what, I take it back," she turns her whole body to you, squinting her eyes, "your aura isn't dark. It's more...green."

"You need to stop pausing right before saying another word." you quip.

"And you need to stop steering the conversation away from you." she counters.

"Alright," you sigh, "it's your day off, right? Go get out and get some sun or something."

Her smile widens. "Don't want to. Planned on having a day in with you, so here I am."

"Where's Nat?"

"Got sent out somewhere, too." She shrugs.

You nod, watching as they get out of the cafe and out of the cameras' scope. You sit up in alarm. Bucky said they would stay where the cameras could see them.

You hear a giggle from beside you, and you realize your mistake. You clear your throat, leaning back down on your chair, eyes still darting around the screen. You suppress the sigh of relief that threatens to come out when you see them on another street. They probably just followed their guy.

"It's okay, Y/N," Wanda says, "you can breathe."

"Stop it." you warn her.

She laughs. "Look, it's completely okay to be jealous—"

"I'm not jealous. It's immature and dumb and there's no need for it. This is a mission, this is not about me or us. He's just doing his job, it's not his fault that he got partnered up with someone else because I was stupid the last time and needed to recover—"

"Okay, hey. Hey," Wanda grabs your arm, stopping you from you rant. "It's okay. I understand."

You sigh, closing your eyes. "It's just...he always does everything he can to make sure I don't feel insecure about our relationship, and I feel like I'm failing to do my part when I get—when I get this ugly feeling. I'm trying, but I don't think I'm...I don't know, mature enough, I guess, for this."

She grows quiet for a minute, absorbing what you just said.

"I know you're trying, and I'm sure he does, too. But sometimes, emotions just are. Sometimes they're so strong, you can't really do much about it. You try to control them, it blows back up in your face." she says, running her hand up and down your arm.

You open your eyes again, looking at the monitor, hoping that now that you've voiced out your feelings, its burden has gotten a little lighter.

It takes you a moment to find which box on the screen they are, but when you do, you see them leaning towards each other and then laughing about something. The twisting in your gut returns, and you don't know whether to laugh or cry in absolute annoyance or curl up in despair.

It's childish and stupid and irrational, but it's there and you can't seem to get rid of it unless you exploded.

"You know what, I'll take over from here," Wanda offers, holding your arm back, as if what she's seeing convinced her that you would go and tear down the monitors in front of you. You don't really know what you look like right now, but knowing what you're feeling, hell, it's very probable that that's what you look like.

Still, you try to fight it. "That's ridiculous, it's your day off—"

"It's not like I'm gonna do much other than just sit here and look around this screen," she interrupts.

"What are you gonna tell him when he comes back and sees you instead of me?" you ask, actually considering her offer the longer you look at the small box in the screen with them in it.

"I'll tell him you're not feeling good," she says.

"Nothing about this?" You turn to her, looking her straight in the eyes.

"What's between us is only between us." She raises a hand in promise, looking straight back at you.

You sigh, standing up and gathering your things once again. She stands up herself, pulling you into an unexpected hug. You're stiff in surprise for a split second before you're melting into it, wrapping your arms around her.

"Talk about it with him, okay?" she says, pulling back.

You heave out a sigh once again. "I don't know. He might think it's dumb. Hell, it is dumb. I'll get over it," you mumble.

She looks at you pointedly. "This is Bucky we're talking about, nothing you say will ever be stupid to him."

You roll your eyes fondly. "I guess."

"Now, go get some rest." She taps your shoulder.

"Thank you so much for this." You smile at her, turning to walk away.

You plop down onto your bed, as soon as you get into your room, groaning when your bruises come in contact with the mattress. You will yourself to get up and change into more comfortable clothes. After the stress of today, you decide you're going to take a nap. Naps never fail to make you feel better. This shouldn't be an exception.

Except that it is.

The longer you lay down under the covers, staring at the ceiling, the more you think about what Bucky's up to right this second. You push the thought of texting him to the farthest corner of your mind. You can't risk distracting him and possibly jeopardizing their mission just because you can't make your own mind shut up.

You turn on your side, extending your arm to where he usually lays, running your fingers through the sheets like an idiot. You feel around for your phone, opening it and typing up, 'I miss you,' before turning it off in defeat.

"That's stupid and clingy." you say out loud, not really caring that you're basically talking to yourself.

"Just go do the laundry and get your shit together." you tell yourself, standing up towards the hamper to sort the clothes out.

You carry basket after basket of it to the laundry room, wincing every time they hit your bruises, but welcoming the distraction it brings anyway. You sit down on the floor as soon as you load the first batch in, leaning your head against the wall and finally, finally feeling exhaustion pull at you.

You jump when you hear the beeping of the washer, looking around in a disoriented haze. You curse when you look outside only to see the setting sun. How long have you been in here? You transfer the first batch into the dryer before deciding to get out and possibly get something to eat.

"Doll!"

You jump for the second time since you woke up, looking to the direction the voice is coming from and seeing Bucky jogging over to you. And just like that, the blissful moment of not remembering anything right after waking up is gone. Your heart still thumps in excitement upon seeing him, but there's also apprehension.

Are the two of you still okay? Did the mission somehow change his mind about you?

"I've been looking everywhere for you. Wanda said you weren't feeling good." He immediately feels your forehead, pulling you close to kiss it after. You smile, wrapping your arms around his neck.

"You okay, baby?" he asks, leaning his forehead against yours.

"Yeah, just accidentally slept in the laundry room," you reply. "How was the mission?"

"Just fine," he says, pulling away to drag you to the elevator. "Annissa did a really great job. Don't think she really needed a partner."

"Oh." was all you could say. You pull your hand away from his, making a show of leaning against the cold metal of the elevator and closing your eyes just as he turns to look at you.

You feel him inch closer, wrapping his arms around you and leaning his head on your shoulder. "I missed you today."

"Missed you too." you whisper, shutting your eyes tighter, not really trusting your voice not to break if you speak louder than that.

You walk out first when the elevator dings, going straight to your room. He follows behind you quietly, and you don't doubt he's already studying you, thinking about what's wrong, and you will yourself to stop acting and feeling this way but you can't. You want to be alone, even if when he wasn't here just yet, all you wanted was for him to come home, and now that he is, you want him to stay as far away from you as possible, and you hate it.

It's irrational and stupid and asking for the impossible, but it's still there.

"Are we okay, babydoll?" he asks, voice a little weaker, a little less sure as he wraps his arms around you from behind, nuzzling his face into your neck.

"Yeah," you reply, absentmindedly rearranging things on your vanity mirror. You feel his eyes on you through the mirror, but you don't meet them, afraid that yours would sell you out more than the rest of you is already doing.

"Are you gonna tell me the truth?" he says, and you can feel his lips moving against your skin, and damn if it doesn't make you weak. But before you could reply to him, his phone's dinging from his pocket.

You try to stop yourself, but as soon as he brings it out and looks over it, your eyes are on it too. You immediately regret it as soon as you read Annissa’s name. The ugly feeling practically cackles from inside you as it rears its head for the nth time that day.

The words are out before you could think them through, "I think she still needs you."

There's an edge to it. It's not casual or normal sounding by any means, and you hate it. He freezes in his spot and you take that as an opportunity to step away from him again, but he stops you, using one arm to scoop you up in his hold once again.

"Baby," he breathes as you struggle to get out of his grip, "are you—are you jealous?"

“No.” you grumble.

“’S my babydoll jealous, hmm?” he asks again, and you can practically feel him smiling against your skin as he swings you from side to side in his arms.

"No I'm not. Stop laughing," you say through gritted teeth. The word coming out of him and the slight laughter in his voice makes you realize even further how stupid this all is. How stupid you are.

“’M not laughing babe, just can’t believe you’d think that. Look at me, please," he says, turning you around in his arms.

"No." You close your eyes, embarrassed by the tears welling up on them.

"Baby—fuck I should've known. I knew something was wrong when you walked out before we went. Fuck, I'm sorry—"

"This is not your fault," you choke out, "I'm-I'm the one being stupid. This is stupid, Buck. I'll get over it."

"No it's not. If it's making you feel this way, it's not stupid." he coaxes, taking your face in between his hands and pressing his forehead to yours.

"It's not healthy, okay? I'm not supposed to feel this way, I— you're doing your best to make sure I don't feel this way, but I still do, and I'm sorry,"

"Hey, hey, shh. Look at me baby," he runs a thumb on your cheek, "open your eyes, angel." he says it in the softest voice, like he usually does with you and only you, and you shut your eyes tighter, hating that you even painted that very same softness earlier as being patronizing when he was just being sweet like he usually is to you. And he's still sweet, so sweet to you even if you're shutting him out because of a stupid feeling.

"Babydoll, please..."

And you finally cave, opening your eyes, his own soft blue ones being the sight that greets you.

"There's my girl." He smiles, kissing your nose.

"Don’t stay it’s stupid, ‘cause it’s not, alright? I get mopey all the time and you’re always so patient with me," he says, “you have nothing to be jealous of, doll. It’s only you for me.”

You sigh, holding his wrists in your hands. "I'm sorry. I don't wanna be clingy...or a crazy girlfriend, I just—I don't know." You turn around, fixing the covers strewn around your bed.

He wraps his arms around you, making sure he's not pressing on any of your bruises before he lifts you up and puts you gently down onto the bed where he presses you to his body and wraps you up in the blankets.

"I don't care if you're clingy, or a crazy girlfriend, or a crazy-clingy girlfriend. Hell, even if you're a controlling and possessive girlfriend, as long as it's a you girlfriend." he says, nuzzling his face into your hair.

"That's toxic, Buck—"

"Shh," he interrupts softly, kissing the nape of your neck, "don't overthink what I said. The gist of it is that I love you," he lifts his head up to press small kisses on your cheek, "I love you," he repeats, drawing his words out.

You giggle from the feeling of his scruff and light kisses, feeling incredibly lighter than you did pretty much the whole day. The two of you grow silent for a minute, admiring the oranges and reds that paint the sky as the sun sets and simply basking in the presence of each other, one you both have missed for the past week.

You turn your head to look at him moments later, pressing a kiss on his chin. "I mean it though, that kinda thinking's toxic, Bucky. I don't want you ending up with that kind of person one day."

"Good thing I'm ending up with you, then." he says it so nonchalantly, like he just didn't tell you he's thinking that far ahead. That he sees you with him that far ahead.

"You think that?" you ask, voice growing smaller and softer, more expectant, and he only smiles at you, pressing the tip of his nose to yours.

"I know that."
