When the romantic relationship isn’t the focus of a story but is simply another plot device in the story, so in a narrative sense it changes nothing and these characters will be ripped apart and will be left without their other half (props if it’s two gay people who I see myself in and get to experience that heartache myself) (I’m aroace wtf )

“I want more doomed relationships” I plead, as my heart breaks from the millions I have that have actually made me cry (damn you MAG200)

the beautiful tragedy of a character you fall madly in love with who was always meant to have this one short arc that then plays out perfectly and you’re sad about it and you know you’ll miss them but that’s kind of what makes it beautiful? like they burn so brightly for such a quick time and leave such an impact and that just makes it all so much stronger. anyway i’ve been thinking a lot about eddie munson and inevitable tragedy today.

#i was listening to an interview with the duffers where they described him as doomed from the start #and like. yeah #gOd i love tragedy #*looks guiltily at my 10 song eddie playlist which is almost entirely songs i associate with his death and choices in the end*#and i know lots of people want him back but it just. wouldn't make sense #joe quinn wants to come back i know and has been talking with cast members about how through like. imagination and flashbacks and stuff #which i think would be cool because i do love joseph and would love to see more of him #the duffers also said that eddie's death will have huge repercussions in season 5??#which is interesting to me because they made it out like dustin was the only one who even cared #this is just me going a little insane but #i think it would be neat if the mind flayer or something like it got into eddie's body which they left in the upside down #and started going around doing terrible things #and like they can't try to save him or anything because he's dead and there's nothing to save #they just have to watch his body get puppeted like that #which would further ignite the fury against hellfire and the kids #which could lead to some interesting exploration of like. yes el did open the door to the upside down AND create vecna #idk #i think too much #stranger things #st4 #eddie munson

i refuse to believe that boycotting is hard. my favourite thing in the world is ordering maccies after a late night at work/a concert/getting drunk. yes i do miss it sometimes. but the other night i ordered from a small place near my house instead and it was the most orgasmic burger i've ever had in my life. i very rarely say this but fucking suck it up people are DEAD

Of characters who are parallel lines?#Of running the same course as someone. Of echoing each other in perfect synchronicity.#It's more than being a foil. It's about being on the same path and being so near to each other.#and yet parallel lines never intersect. They cannot meet each other despite their existence being tied to another.#I think the brothers tragedy is just as much of a tragedy of parallel lines as is pre-resurrection wangxian.#Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian spend so much time running side by side and yet - they cant close this gap between them.#Even if their relationship never recovers - they are forever tied together through their past. The good and bad and ugly.#All the things that are left unsaid between them. All the love and sacrifices they made for each other that are never shared. Parallel line #I firmly believe any post-canon material that would have them be indifferent towards each other is just...really doing them a disservice.#And dear god the Lan brothers. They certainly love each other! Its a far fonder fraternal relationship than jiangxian (/platonic)#They fool you by having you think they have a good read on each other. Lan Xichen certainly wingmans + advocates for lwj!#But lets not forget - Lan Xichen by the end is in the reverse situation and headspace as Lan Wangji by the end of this story.#Lan Wangji is more free and open than he has ever been. He's in love. He's married. He and wwx are intersecting lines.#& LXC who grew up with and lived the same path as LWJ - who even is said to resemble him visually - his parallel line - shuts himself away #Despite all the love LWJ has for his brother I don't think he ever manages to reach him.

no thoughts, just "where is duty, where is sacrifice" and the way that alicent clings to abstract constructs like religion, honor, duty and sacrifice because her material life is so concretely terrible and empty. to have loved someone so dearly, and watch them be what you perceive as free while your entire personhood is reduced to a womb and made to serve the realm, a vessel for the rotting king to use and abuse. to not exist as a person for yourself but in only in service to others as you are ordered by your father under a patriarchal structure..........and then the contrast of that quote, which summarizes all of alicent's anguish and agony, to the classic, "what is honor compared to a woman's love? what is duty against the feel of a newborn son in your arms...we are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love.".................but alicent doesn't have love, not anymore. duty, honor, these concepts - they're all she's got, and the lack of the very elements that make them meaningful has corroded her inside and out. so: honor, duty, sacrifice, all without love. and here we are.

here's the thing. laudna would have stopped it. if she knew delilah was about to fracture the gnarlrock. if she could parse her own feelings from hers.

and here's the thing. imogen has been plagued by nightmares for a decade. and this rock is the first bit of solace outside of her trust in laudna that she has ever had.

and laudna was just involved in shattering it. this tiny bit of solace.

and. here's the thing: laudna would've stopped it.

and. here's the thing. imogen would've stopped it. the only reason imogen didn't go is because she was specifically afraid that she would attempt to intervene and ruin their relationship with the volition before it ever began.

and here's the thing. liliana set out 25+ years ago specifically to spare her daughter. and that seemingly has not ever wavered as her core motivation. but people keep being drawn to the moon. kids keep being drawn towards the moon. and liliana is a mother. she was a mother before she ever knew she was an exaltant.

for 25+ years she has worked to "cure" imogen. the only solace she probably ever received was in at least attempting to console the kids who found themselves lured in by her same pull.

liliana begs imogen not say that they may have to kill each other. she breaks at hearing imogen's resolve. but there's kids, imogen. there's kids here. imogen. she can't leave. she's a mom.

and, here's the thing: imogen's her daughter. the daughter liliana left. or tried to leave. the daughter she only had through dreams. and imogen is working with the volition. and imogen has been her sole drive for 25+ years.

and imogen might have just been involved in shattering the little solace she might have ever had.

and, here's the thing: imogen would've stopped them.
