So, obviously classic wizard robes aren’t wheelchair friendly. (Alright, admittedly this isn’t common knowledge and also this definitely isn’t a problem for most but listen, this is a problem for me and I’m pleased to present a solution for it nonetheless.)
The issue is in the sleeves and the length of the robes. The traditional trumpet style allows them to get snagged, dirty, and caught in the wheels.
This is distinctly not an issue with other mobility aids such as canes and crutches, these wizards are fine to carry on with their trumpet sleeves simply rolled up if needed.
Now, one solution might simply to shorten the sleeves and hem to be out of the way, but that looks rather silly so I won’t do that. Instead I propose the more elegant design of a hanging sleeve to maintain that flowy magical feel while allowing for better range of motion.
Honestly I just love the look of hanging sleeves in general and think more people should appreciate them, wheelchair user or not.
tell me you ‘forgot’ a condom but youll only put the tip in, then that feels so good you put it all in and promise to pull out, eventually i lose count of how many loads youve dumped in me but it feels so good and its too late to stop you now
frankly, the people whose kneejerk reaction to bisan asking for a global strike form the 21st-28th is to say that it takes years to organize a general strike are really unhelpful! no one is saying otherwise, but palestine will be a smoking crater if we all wait for years to do anything - bisan is asking us to do something now. Like are we only supposed to do something if we can do it perfectly??? At some point it’s a valid critique about the work that goes into social movement, and at another point I feel like some people are just trying to absolve themselves from not putting any effort into observing a week of economic inaction.
like idk! I get it, okay! People have bills to pay that don’t magically go away for a strike, we don’t have nearly enough social infrastructure in place to support people to fully stop going to work for a week. But fuck, dude! Stop immediately responding in such a defeatist way! Cut out unnecessary purchases! Try to shop local! Put more effort into promoting Palestinian voices online! Attend a protest, call a local rep, do something!
love when ppl defend the aggressive monetization of the internet with "what, do you just expect it to be free and them not make a profit???" like. yeah that would be really nice actually i would love that:)! thanks for asking
It's insane how casually the calls to end a genocide, not just the students in Columbia University but pro Palestinian views in general, are labelled as terrorists. The audacity to still publicly support Israel's actions even after the horrific bombings these last months and then turn around to say that the ones who oppose it are violent anti semites is just baffling
For my followers living in the UK—it is extremely likely that members of parliament will convene on Wednesday, November 15th, to vote once and for all for whether or not the UK should join the majority of the world's states and vote for a ceasefire to protect the citizens of Gaza.
This is historic. The UK is one of the most powerful nations in the world and on the UN council, and it is one of the few that had been staunchly opposing a ceasefire for the past month. If the UK supports a ceasefire, it would go a long way in securing peace and dignity for the Palestinians.
Please, please write to you MP and demand that they support the ceasefire. Organisations are asking people to implement the idea of "No Ceasefire, No Vote"—let those in power (especially MPs who may not support the idea) know that they will not be voted for in the coming elections if they stand against this.
This is a link that sends the email for you. It takes less than a minute. If you would like to edit it to add your own reasons, do that. And if you're not British, share the hell out of this post.
"I wish it was a dream. Oh, mom and dad. I wish it was a dream and my mom and dad are still alive" after being rescued from underneath the rubble to find his parents killed by Israel.
