You started appearing ALLLLL OVER my fyp! So I decided to ask a Q, (it's not a request btw but u can draw it if it motivates you.) Ahem, I kinda wanna see some Adam angst, why? Cause.. yes. Anywho I had a random idea of like, how would luci react to seeing Adam having a breakdown about his life? I mean I assume Adam might have some self hate and might question everything that is happening in his life right? So I wonder how luci would comfort Adam in said situation. (Also I tend to be the one answering questions for people since im also a artist and idk if i should post on this app- and so this is my first time ASKING so I'm really excited!! Your arts so good keep it up!)

*rubs my little sinner hands together* HO-HO! Welcome, friend! Thank you for asking! I love Adam angst I inject it into my bloodstream every day.

At first, Adam is just fucking pissed at EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE. Lucifer especially, of course. At first, he doesn't even take responsibility, of course. I'd like to think Adam would go through the five stages of grief basically lol. He's in denial, absolutely can't believe it, thinks he'll go back to heaven any second now. He's a prick, he doesn't take anybody's help and flips everyone off, saying he doesn't need any redemption. Then he gets even more angry, like I said, especially at Luci, he's whining and kicking and blaming everyone for his destiny. Then he finally accepts either having a deal with Lucifer, or going to the hotel to try to find some communication with heaven so they can get him out of there. That doesn't work of course, so now his only option is to try and get redeemed. Oh the irony. But then, at night, when no one's looking, he just fucking stands there and thinks about everything that's happened to him. Yes, he is still angry and blames everyone else, but the thought that maybe, just maybe, this might all be his fault, is starting to creep into him. This makes him depressed to no end, but he tries to hide it from the rest of the hotel.

This is when Lucifer notices that he's going through a bad time, and yes, he scolds him some more. But also I think he'd try to get a page from his daughter's book and, begrudgingly, tries to cheer him up and encourage him to give redemption a real try (he was only half assing it until then). He tries to talk to him about the time they spent in Eden, before Lilith was even created. I like to think they had a little bit of a friendship back then, or at least, Lucifer could see some positive attributes in him from afar. He tells him that he just needs to try, and listen, and that soon, he'll understand why these sinners have formed such a tightly bonded family.

Obviously he doesn't exactly change his ways right away. It takes time, effort, a lot of patience, but he starts seeing how caring, fun and good everyone really is. He doesn't realize it, but he wants some of that too, even if he might relapse again and again.

How did the first meeting between baby Hunter and his aunt Eda go?

okay, cracks knuckles cause im about to type a bunch about this.

for the start of hunter's life (before he's born and while he's little) eda lives out west in oregon, near gwen and dell (but not with) and she lives similarly to how she lives in canon owl house. her house isn't grand, she lives 'paycheck to paycheck' which in most cases is not from real work. lilith even sends her money at times to help her out, especially once she acquires king. the two of them are crusty livin' and scraping by but eda always makes life fun.

eda is a carefree mom. she's a functioning alcoholic and she doesn't have much of her life together from the outside looking in. but, she manages and her and king are happy campers most of the time. eda is a big stress and negativity swallower, keeping it inside and when she does need money, she won't even directly ask lilith most of the time but lilith can tell and she'll send it anyways. and usually, eda won't send it back because she Does need it.

lilith's emotional neglect from gwen and dell, growing up, comes from the fact that eda was a very sick child (from about 8-14) and most of their attention went into eda and her medical journey. while lilith understood that eda was sick, bitterness did grow. resentment to her parents grew. despite, she did not hate eda and usually worried for her but after a point, sealed herself off and essentially isolated herself into her schooling. for college, she applied to college in massachusett's, was accepted, and left. from there, she never went back to oregon and established a life for herself in mass, basically from scratch because lilith is resourceful and capable like that.

while living away, she keeps in touch with eda much more than gwen and dell, really only sending them cards on holidays that matter and visiting once a year, if her schedule permitted.

eda is the first person she tells about hunter. so eda is there for her and helps her through all of her anxiety about things and they face time about it until he's born. eda makes fun of her and lilith has hung up on her before. but, the whole time before he's born, they don't tell gwen and dell cause eda is a good secret keeper. and lilith doesn't even tell her parents about hunter until he's like 3 months old, screams. but lilith flies eda and king out to visit her and see the baby (i should mention king is 3 when hunter's born), and they get to meet him. lilith doesn't like anyone holding him because she worked hard making him and she's protective and in eda's case, the two of them live very differently. but she calms herself enough to let her. she makes her sit down and a certain way and coaches her through it. there are rules.

when eda holds him and all his tinyness she is a little smitten and there's a softness about it and she looks at lilith, who's staring at her with worry about her holding him and that eda is about to tease her, but eda says she can't believe she did this and has a son. then she tells her she thinks she did a good job and it makes lilith blush and really awkward. she's taken aback? the praise and acknowledgement from someone (even if it's eda) feels nice but overwhelming. and she'd tell her, ''thank you, edalyn." then eda would smile and there is their soft moment before she says, '' can't believe you were storked up,'' which kind of shatters it and makes lilith huffy and eda laugh really ugly.

eda would ask lilith if king can hold hunter too and with a lot of hesitancy she'd say okay but only if she could help, so lilith sits with king and helps that small boy hold the even smaller boy. there's a lot of anxiety sharing her life with others in intimate settings. she has a lot of trouble with that and internal hang ups but she would cherish this time, ultimately.

Her personality does match Arle's, but she is more sweet with Satan, way more mature and sarcastic, GIRLBOSS, and if someone that isn't her husband, tells her "I want you", she WILL punch.

She used to be a hero on the people's eyes, she even had a statue..until they discovered she had a romance with Lucifer(Aka Satan), the statue was taken down.

Obviously she can go to the Madou World whenever she wants (and somehow, Satan's Castle is connected to the Madou World).

Doppelganger Arle and Arle are kinda related to Lilith in a way...not genetically but maybe Lilith did something to make them kinda to her image..?

Imagine how silly it would be that Puyo Puyo Tetris 3 talked about how Lilith is trying to connect the dimension where Arle is currently on to Madou's.

My Artist’s Year in Review

Unfortunately, I haven’t put out much art this year. So I’m using my favourite sketch pages from this year instead of pieces. I’ve had a lot of struggles w/ my mental health and personal real-life problems, so doing full pieces seemed a daunting task. But hopefully in this new year, I’ll be able to do more full pieces!

December 2022

This was a difficult time for me motivation-wise, and this was the only full page I made at that point, as most of my (now-lost) art was digital then! My favourite sketch here is the Grant Cohen in blue at the bottom.

2. January 2023

Another especially-difficult month for me. Again, the only full page I was able to fill, unfortunately. I really like the Norman in the top-left corner; he was so fun to draw!

3. February 2023

My bestie (@harmonyblossom19 btw, hey girl) had said that MatPat gave off Fred ScoobyDoo vibes, so I drew their fusion—dubbing him “FredPat” shortly thereafter. It was the best of February’s doodles, though I’m still not proud of it. This was around the time I moved here from my old blog!

This is all of the OCs I’ve stuck together for various universes. Lilith and Star are from a D&D-inspired universe called Spires of Heavenly Light and Shadow, and of course, Lyra and Sol are from TQFTAD. I’m so in love with the Star doodle here.

Hello! I am new to the whole creating fanfictions thing but I will say I have been a part of the tumblr community for about 4 years now, since the start of high school. i have a very nice liliava scene on my college au. on their second year, students have to choose between three mediums to study for the next 3 years. beatrice, ava, n lilith all chose painting (which is the one i chose irl btw!! this au is based on my experiences in my uni). this is fine for bea n ava who have a slow but growing friendship. lilith n ava however cant seem to get along too well, since lilith is very standoffish n cant stand ava’s carefree attitude towards her uni work.

lilith is serious. she comes from a successful family of painters, very rich and very strict. lilith actually does like painting, always has even before knowing her family business, but it turns from a hobby to a duty the moment she can speak. she needs to be a painter, she needs to master in arts, if not painting then maybe sculpture, none of that modern contemporary nonsense, the classier the better. lilith goes to the same art college her parents went to, which is in porto, potugal. the teaching is sufficient and the curriculum is acceptable, n so both parents aim for lilith to go to this uni n then master in painting in another country, possible in paris or italy, depending on how well lilith does with this one.

lilith is cold, objective, and solely focused on her work. shes intense but manages to hide it well from the teachers as to not scare them off. she doesnt care for the students tho, they can think whatever they want. she knows who she is and who she is going to be. none of them can compare to her and this is just fact.

ava, however, only went to portugal since its her hometown n she thought it’d be sweet to study art there. shes carefree, and she goes with the flow. doesnt have grand plans, just wants to learn all abt art and meet new people and go out, live her life. lilith doesnt get that, cant get that, n so they clash n fight a lot. they have drawing class together and it is painful for everyone involved.

they do share on moment of peace during their first year drawing class, but it is brief. the moment i want to talk abt is in their second year, painting class.

their painting classroom, an atelier, is open at all times, even at saturday. ava was catching up on one painting while some classmates were hanging out n making a LOT of noise. she was kinda fed up, but just focused on finishing the painting. she takes a lil break, gets up, walks around n checks out the other’s paintings. she sits pretty close to the door, so when her classmates runs off out the door, they clash with her easel, and the painting crashes on the floor. all ava’s prayers of it being unscathed are not answered. while it fell, it scrapped along a lil table where she keeps her supplies, one everyone has, and now her painting has a long wide stroke of paint all over it. hours of work, gone. paint wasted, hours wasted.

ava tries to remain calm n positive. she does not want to have a fainting spell or worse cry in a place any of her classmates can walk into. she puts the painting back in place and thats when she cries. she has the sudden urge to just rip it out, destroy it, n that just makes both her arms tingle n go numb, so now she’s upset abt that. she also can’t breathe properly n she’s sobbing quite loudly, sat on her stool, head on her knees, arms pathetically dead on either side of her, unmoving. thats when lilith walks in.

now. lilith isn’t actually heartless. she just doesnt have time for friendships built on actual love n care n shit, that shit doesnt help. but... as she gingerly walks in and circles around to look at ava, shes confused n a lil bit concerned. then she looks up n sees the painting and audibly gasps. ava looks up, sees lilith, they make eye contact, n lilith watches ava’s already red, blotchy, swollen, tear riddled face crumple n sob even harder. ava is so embarrassed she wants to disappear. apparently that means she has to faint so she tries to warn lilith but lilith just ends up with an armful of semi conscious ava. lilith is fucking panicking, ava is disgusting n limp n a mess and its only 11 am on a wednesday she didnt ask for this.

still, smth in her snaps n she puts on her best soothing voice (aka beatrice voice) n tries to calm ava down (aka acting like beatrice). it doesnt work, it only makes ava more confused so she just curses n says “for fucks sake dont faint please, i’ll help you fix it. cant do it with u out like a light now can i”. that manages to calm ava down. after some breathing exercises, and some weird awkward head petting, ava is fine. mostly.

they both look at the mess of a painting n ava just half screams half sighs n goes “welp!” with fake cheerfulness. that bugs lilith for reasons yet unknown, but she does help them both up n does damage control. “we’ll tell the teacher, hes reasonable n for all ur faults u are a very fast painter so. it’ll be fine. we just wipe off what we can n then... well maybe you should not touch it for a bit. yknow. distance yourself from it. or whatever”

its the first time ava sees lilith so painfully awkward but earnest, making zero eye contact, but nodding seriously to the painting as if it was her own problem n not ava’s. lilith cares. for ava. and even tho her face is still very wet, she’s smiling so wide right now. it will be okay. it’s fine. she’s got this (we got this).

What’s the premise of this AU?

Belos dies several years before Luz steps foot on the Boiling Isles, and Lilith becomes Hunter’s Regent for the first 6 months of her reign, due to some extremely convoluted succession rules.

(To be clear, Lilith didn’t marry Belos. She just happened to be head of the Emperor’s Coven at the time of Belos’s death.)

What are the succession rules on the Boiling Isles?

These are the succession rules according to Boiling Isles law, they’re extremely simplified.

1) Emperor’s spouse

2) Emperor’s eldest child (or nephew, in this case)

3) Golden Guard (Tristan, deceased)

4) Head of the Emperor’s Coven (Lilith Clawthorne)

Since Belos wasn’t married, the previous Golden Guard was killed (Tristan), and Hunter was 2 when he died. Lilith initially took over as Hunter’s Regent for the first 6 months of her reign.

When did this AU diverge from Canon?

Technically this AU diverged from the Canon Timeline around 400 years before the show proper, but I can’t share too many details, as it has something to do with Hunter and Corvin. Although from Hunter and Lilith’s perspective, this AU diverged when Belos died.

Aris 2023 Media #17: The Owl House

so i just saw the Finale, and, fuck this show REALLY resonated with me, and I'm so glad I listened to everyone who told me to check it out. even if Season 3 was kinda rushed because Disney Fuckin Sucks and Hates The GaysTM, the way this show portrays the kinda struggles I and others dealt with as our Autistic LGBTQIA+ Zoomer Selves, and so ACCURATELY depicts how it feels to be in that kind of life with the world it sets up, with the characters it sets up, and how engrossed i was for all of it. it. it is so good

the show kinda struggles a bit at the beginning since you know, Season 1 need to establish the world and being a Disney Channel show its pretty light-hearted, gag-heavy, but you can still see a LOT of good world building scenes planted, and there's more subtleties put in place to eventually leading the show becoming Gay as Shit But Also Incredibly Heart-Wrenching and Lovable (I binged the shit out of Season 2, NO REGRETS) but god, Luz's struggles are so relatable. her's, King's, and Eda's all really - SUCH a good main trio, and the supporting cast I also all really liked by the end, especially Lilith, Amity, and Hunter! the Boiling Isles themselves have such a cool art direction too, that I'm glad in hindsight so much of Season 1 was focused on it, to let it support Season 2 and 3 as much as it did - the work Dana and her team did to make everyone and everything endearing as it was, making even the most out-there stuff be close to our own personal struggles is. fuck. it got me several times, especially when this show wants to get dark and boy can it get fucking grim

but there's always such a sense of optimism and connection despite it all, I felt for everyone to the end! fuck, the midpoint of Season 2 might just be the best part of the show for that alone, they get you attached to these characters and they put you through the WRINGER with them, but it works so, so well. and I'm so glad the show ended as it did, hit me in all the right spots and that, even if it was rushed, i still felt really sad yet satisfied to see this lovable cast go; thank you Dana and the entire Owl House team for making one of my new favorite shows ever <3

show is definitely S grade btw, I need to internalize putting in the rankings for these now that I actually have character spacing ghfgjfgjfg

Okay so like

1. ANOTHER GUS EPISODE ANOTHER GUS EPISODE! This is really exciting because I absolutely LOVE the way they portray illusion magic aaaa. I am very concerned because this is definitely like… the EC getting all of the students to be branded into a coven before the Day of Unity right? And Gus is gonna try to get people out of it or something? Very curious about who the unlikely ally is, but the first thing that comes to my mind is Steve? It’s gotta be someone in the emperor’s coven imo but I really can’t place who exactly it would be bc there are so many different options but none of them are super unlikely like the synopsis states.

They keep the rest of the episodes super vague and I think we’ll know more once it gets closer. It almost feels like “O Titan, Where Art Thou,” “Clouds on the Horizon,” and “King’s Tide” might go together as like a ~three part finale that’s not technically a three part finale but it kind of is?~ like how AoaW and YBOS did. But yeah I think we’re gonna see a lot of different perspectives and storylines in these three that just converge together by the end to lead into season 3. I can see it separating into a bunch of different things but I imagine we’ll get Luz/Eda/King as a combo for a bit, then maybe King on his own, and Hunter/Raine/General Emperor’s Coven stuff, probably some Hexside stuff (mainly Gus/Willow/Amity but depending on how Hollow Mind goes Hunter could potentially be there too, and Luz could definitely be some part of it as well), and I imagine other characters like Lilith/Hooty/Gwendolyn/Dell/etc. are gonna come up too? Idk the way that everything is being phrased really makes it seem like everyone id gonna be a part of this and I think that’ll be really chaotic and cool to see.

Agh I’m just so excited! It’s happening! I am not ready for Hollow Mind btw they just released a clip and it already looks like it’s gonna be GOOD

You want to be in my show? Well I've got news for you! Only the best perform with me. You want these roles in my show? Then you better start working your butt's off and giving me a performance that will seduce even the prince of lust himself.

Asmodeus was a father figure to the princess and she wanted to make him proud by putting on the biggest and best lust filled performance but being in the pride ring the sinners obviously had to fail her and perform her beautiful choreography horrifyingly. The once unique rhythms, styles, and techniques ruined by lack of timing, horrible style and outdated techniques.

"create a proper momentum on the static pole, that lets you spin long and smoothly. No! Not like that watch and learn. Begin with a Carousel Spin before switching to a Pirouette and leading into a fan kick. Living in the pride ring was too much for the young princess, the yearly killing traumatised the young princess and her parents agreed to send her to another ring for part of the year to avoid the yearly extermination. Lucifer and lilith don't trust many other demons and it was decided for charlie to live in the lust ring with asmodeus. She learned many skills during her stays in the lust ring and would often go back for advice from asmodeus. She learned all the basics of pole dancing during her first stay in the lust ring and heavily practiced until she was dancing like the pole was another limb.

Asmodeus taught her how to use her body to express and seduce others to do her bidding. He was a good teacher she no longer was the shy scared princess but a strong young woman who was stubborn and used what she knew to her advantage. Picking up her phone and placing it to her ear she waited silently for the call to connect through after a few moments she heard a familiar voice "charlie! What a surprise! I didn't expect a call from you today"

"Hey asmodeus, I've got a quick question for you?"

"Well fire away! Is it about your show? I'm quite excited for it! I'm sure it will definitely make the crowd horny"

"yeah if the dancers can actually perform correctly, I need new dancers from the lust ring the overlord who provided me with these dancers gave me the worst possible dancers and I don't have the patience to be teaching them the basics. It would be a miracle if they managed to seduce a rock." she turned slightly to see a few glares being shot her way.

"hmm I have a few dancers that will be free... How long do they have to learn the routine?"

"just under 2 weeks"

There was a slight pause on the other side of the phone "two weeks... That's gonna be a close call, you sure there will be enough time?"

"I don't have much choice, my parents will be there with guests so it needs to be perfect"

"Well then we need to show the pride ring some lust and we can't do that with a bad performance after all ♫♪♪ show me some lust! ♫♪♪

Charlie laughed softly in amusement ♫♪♪ from the groin to the bust ♫♪♪

"in desire we trust! In the house of asmodeus!"

"Haha its nice to see you remember my song!"

So I can't talk about any Deathspeaker characters or Lilith or CYOA since I know for sure I AM going to make those/currently am working on them, and I don't wanna give away spoilers... Oh I know exactly who I wanna talk about, I hope talking about 2 characters in depth is fine cause boy you really need to know about both to get the full picture here

SO. Emmet. Emmet's fucking neat as hell. He started out as just a character for another characters backstory and then I decided I wanted to do more with him and now he's the worlds greatest supervillain. To start off though that backstory is important, so let's talk about Thatcher.

Thatcher and Emmet are both from a world of super powered people where everybody's got superpowers. Emmet got his power young, enhanced senses, while Thatcher was more of a late bloomer. Thatcher and Emmet were super good friends, and since it was kind of a dangerous world to live in, Thatcher tended to be pretty protective of Emmet. He was not super good at defending himself and Thatcher knew it. It kind of pissed them off that they didn't have a power to help them out. So imagine how thrilled they were when they finally found out they can time travel. They wanted to test it out, push the limits, see how they can use it to their advantage. Emmet wasn't... super happy about it, and it kind of freaked him out how far they were trying to go with it.

Thatcher of course, didn't listen, too excited about the possibilities. The last text they sent him was "I know what you'll think, but I have to know. I have to know how far I can go with this. I'll be back soon ok" before attempting to jump into a different timeline all together. And hey! They succeeded! But found themself unable to get back at all. They tried so hard to get back for days on end, and just. Couldn't. Thatcher and Emmet will never find a way to see each other again.

So back in Emmet's timeline, he's going through some stuff. His best friend disappeared and hasn't come back in weeks. And then months. And then a year. During that time he's had to deal with how dangerous the world is by himself and he's not good at protecting himself. He's tired. He's angry. Scared and alone, he comes to the realization that maybe. He could be feared. They'd leave him alone then wouldn't they, if he scared them away? So he puts together a costume and makes some tech that will help hold up his facade and keep him safe and a couple months later makes his debut as Prince Machiav.

It is kind of a surprise to everyone including Emmet that he is incredibly good at this whole supervillain thing. He managed to keep everything about himself a mystery, especially his superpower, which is important. If they knew he just has enhanced senses, he wouldn't be very intimidating. But nobody knows exactly what he can do, and every battle with a superhero seems to reveal something new he's able to do (thanks to the help of the technology he's made) and that scares them. They don't know how powerful he can be. And when this dude walks up to you, completely confidident in his every step revealing powers you didn't think he could have, you'd probably freak out too! So Emmet pretty quickly rose to the top.

I honestly haven't developed the actual story past that too much, if you want to explain what I do have for it then let me know, but I'm going to ignore it for now cause I've got something else to talk about. The Parallels. Holy fucking shit the parallels between Emmet and Thatcher.... it's so fucking good. So while Emmet has been becoming the world's greatest supervillain for the last 6 years, it's only been a few months in Thatcher's new timeline and they're establishing themself as the world's most annoying superhero. They got themself a costume (a lunch bag on their head), gave themself a superhero name (Lunch Bag), and just annoyed the shit out of any supervillain they found.

Emmet became a supervillain to protect himself, not really caring about the supervillain aspect, just trying to get people to leave him alone. Lunch Bag became a superhero to protect themself, not caring about the superhero part, just hiding themself hoping no one has to know them for who they are, to get people to leave them alone. Emmet presents himself as fancy and distinguished to make people think he's better than he is. Lunch Bag presents themself as messy and pathetic to make people underestimate them. They're taking the same fucking paths in life, just on opposite sides of the road, and it fucking DESTROYS ME I love it so much.

ugh i am so sorry i haven’t been able to write much! thank anyone who stuck around! i’ve been having to focus mostly on my school related writing (plus got a job so woo!) and its definitely not slowing down anytime soon, but here’s a little something i did manage to get out.

i don’t think i’ll ever get over the idea of Loki being a dad

A light that isn’t supposed to be on is on in the kitchen.

Every night, you turn out all of the lights in the house but a dim lamp by Loki’s bedside, so this one is foreign enough to rouse you from your rest and wake you to the point of realizing that your husband is gone.

Grabbing your robe off the floor, you slip it on as you pad down the hallway, stifling a yawn. Not only has your baby on a strange, reversed sleep schedule, but Loki doesn’t seem to need sleep either. This isn’t the first time he’s been up and about in the wee hours of the night.

Maybe another nightmare, maybe just a messed up inner alarm clock…you never know.

Shadows dance across the walls before you even reach the doorway, and Loki speaks in a hushed little baby voice.

“I love you, Elliot! My little blue baby, I love you!”

You pause in the doorway before he can see you.

On the floor with his back to a cupboard, Loki, gloriously jötun and clad in only a pair of loose silk pants, sits crisscross and holds your tiny son in his hands out in front of him.

Elliot is cooing happily and squirming in Loki’s hands, his hands large enough to comfortably take the place of the little baby’s bed, and he brings him closer to place the gentlest kiss on his delicate forehead.

You peek your head in through the doorway for a better look.

Oh. Elliot’s blue, too.

The golden kitchen light softens Loki’s jötun skin to a sky blue and his eyes to almost pink, and if you didn’t already love him, he’d be terrifying. But in your kitchen murmuring to his son how they’re going to help each other and saying I love you like a prayer, he’s a work of art.

Blue and etched with markings, cold and blood-eyed, you know your son will look like him, too, all sharp angles and structure and untouchable as a knife.

Dangerous but beautiful as the winter.

“I love you, Elliot.”

He gurgles in response and kicks a chubby foot in Loki’s face, three of his tiny toes the same blue as his father.

Loki catches the little foot and kisses it, bending his knees to rest the baby against his thighs. “Do you think I’m getting better at this?” he whispers. “We can keep having these little rendezvous, I think they’ve been helping.”

Tugging the robe tighter around you, you fight back another yawn and lean as close through the doorway as you can manage without interrupting.

“I love you,” he repeats, holding Elliot up and running the tip of his finger along the four marks on his left eyebrow, curving softly above his pinkish-red eye. “Don’t worry, I have those ones, too.”

You watch him shift back to his aesir form, Elliot following suit when Loki kisses his chubby cheek—then he shifts back to jötun, resting his forehead against his son’s until the two of them are blue again—or at least, splotched with blue.

There in the dim light, Loki does it again, murmuring how he loves him and switching back and forth between their two forms.

“You are a very pretty colour,” he whispers with a small smile. He sounds like you do whenever he’s in this form, trying to convince him of his beauty. “Your mother thinks so, too. She’s very strange.”

Elliot gazes up at him with those big red eyes and sticks his toes in his mouth.

“That’s very insightful of you, Elliot.”

The baby giggles. “Ah-loo.”

Your heart stops and Loki’s voice dies in his throat.

“What?”

“Ah-loo!”

Loki scrambles to pull himself off the floor, a beaming grin spreading over his blue face. “What, Elliot?”

Your son keeps giggling and still half asleep, you don’t think to run to them before Loki’s running into you in the doorway, crashing into you while Elliot’s first word bubbles from his throat.

“Loki, that’s his first—”

“I was just coming to wake you,” Loki interrupts excitedly, landing a kiss that doesn’t quite follow through to your cheek. “Shh, shh, listen—who’s the cutest bluest baby?”

Held out in front of you in Loki’s hands, Elliot sticks out his tiny tongue and blows a spit bubble. “Ah-loo!”

“Loki,” you laugh, and wrapping your arms around his waist from behind him, you can’t think of anything more that needs to be said; right now, Elliot is the only one with something to say, and he does.

“Ah-loo,” he giggles again, more than thrilled to see his mother watching him over Loki’s shoulder at this hour. “Ah-loo.”

Loki’s lips settle into the gentlest smile, gazing down at his son, and he leans his head against yours.

“Well, it’s not dad or ma,” he says and you know he’s still thrilled, “but I’ll take it. Whatever he means by ‘ah-loo.’”

The sound leaves Loki’s mouth and is immediately followed by another little gurgle from Elliot, and the two of them go back and forth a few times, ah-loo-ing each other until you can’t take the cuteness anymore and steal a thorough kiss from each of them.

“I’m so glad we didn’t miss this,” you sigh, following suit as Loki lowers himself back onto the kitchen floor, still crooning over your baby.

“Me either.” Loki sounds starstruck, red eyes glittering and blue skin absolutely freezing when you snuggle up against his chest so you can stare at Elliot, too. “Ah-loo, hm? What is that supposed to mean?”

Tiny hands reach for the both of you and he gives a happy little squeal. “Ah-loo.”

“Maybe he’s saying hello,” you whisper and run a hand over Loki’s chest. “Maybe he’s already developing your accent and says hello like an old British man.”

“An old British man,” he repeats with a frown. “And here I thought you liked my voice.”

Not liking that frown one bit, you dig your fingers into the soft bare skin of his side and Loki squirms, biting back a shout of laughter.

“I love you,” you huff and tickle him once more for good measure, “and every little thing about you. Especially your voice.”

Loki laughs, bops a finger gently on Elliot’s tiny nose, and turns to press a kiss to your forehead. “I love you, too.”

Little chubby arms reach for you again. “Ah-loo!”

The three of you huddle there on the kitchen floor until you get too cold against Loki’s icy skin and convince him to come back to bed—bringing Elliot with you, of course.

Loki eventually shifts back to aesir form and you gratefully cuddle up to his chest, right next to your little son, who has finally stopped squirming and seems to be settling down on Loki’s chest as well for the last few hours of sleep.

“I love you,” Loki murmurs, one hand on Elliot’s back as the other gently traces down your cheek.

You mumble it back and grab his chin to steal a kiss, and Elliot gurgles one last “ah-loo” into Loki’s chest.

You’ve barely started to consider it a kiss when your eyes fly open in shock.

“Ah-loo,” you gasp and break away from Loki with a smack. “I love you.”

“I love you, too?”

“No,” you laugh, and Elliot opens his eyes once more to beam up at you. “He’s saying I love you, Loki.”

Loki falls silent and you think that may have broken him, but then he wraps his arms around the baby and hugs him as tight as he possibly can without hurting the little guy.

“I love you,” he says again, this time hesitating, curious if that’s really it—

“Ah-loo!”

That’s better than any variation of “ma” or “da” that you and Loki could’ve hoped for.
