Brewing up an villainess in an otome game isekai au, with Ludwig as the Villainess.
But because it’s an otome game, I need to come up with a harem to fill our classic roles.
Starting with my favs:
Alfred - playing the role of the Prince that the villainess is engaged to
Lovino/Lorenzo - rich eldest son of a lord who’s standoffish but shockingly has a soft side
Kiku - the quiet son of a lord who’s extremely talented and who’s friends with the prince and probably will end up his advisor
I’m thinking maybe having a brief Matthew thing - brother to the Prince who thinks the marriage won’t go well so tries to make himself a viable option but realises that the marriage might actually work.
But I need to figure out who else could be apart of the harem. Maybe Ivan? I need some input on who else to add.
Plot below btw:
Ludwig attends an all girls school and doesn’t have too many friends, but one of the ones he does have is obsessed with a new fantasy otome game. Keeps yapping on about the surprising amount of lore and how it’s such a funny coincidence several characters look like either people they know or the boys from the nearby boys school. So eventually he goes out and buys the game to play when he’s not studying. And then BAM gets hit by the isekai truck.
He’s now stuck in the villainesses body, about half a year away from the start of the game. Ludwig’s quickly realises doing out of character stuff just causes bad reactions, and feels forced to play the role of this snobby pretentious girl, trying to figure out either ow to get out of the game or fix the doomed past he’s on.
Eventually, about a month before rich people’s school starts, he can’t do it. He’s in such an unfamiliar place having to fit in and he just can’t handle it. Breaks down in front of the villainesses brother, who shockingly looks like Ludwig’s brother. Very heartfelt coming out scene where Gilbert, whos been not a great brother the past several months because the villainesses isn’t a nice person, kind of figures that the whole reason the villainesses has been such a horrible person was because he was trans all along. Fully accepts what’s happening, a nice hug, and helps convince their parents to support the transition.
Now Ludwig can be more himself, he doesn’t have to play this one dimensional asshole. This saves the engagement he’s had to Alfred, instead of the breakup that happens in-game.
The start of the school year goes well, the bad things that had happened to the villainess Ludwig is able to solve because A) he now has a little of the prince’s favour B) he’s Ludwig’s he’s a problem solver
Eventually, about part way through the school year, the actual MC shows up. And I’m tempted for it to be Feliciano, but because Lorenzo is apart of the harem that’s weird as fuck and makes me feel sick

Fanfic Prompt Idea:
Germany decides he wants to invite America over to Bavaria for the annual Octoberfest (to show off his culture and stuff). Only, there is a problem: Prussia is going to be there, and we all know how overprotective he is over Germany. Double problem: Prussia's bringing England with him, and he does NOT approve of Germany (years of fighting, thinks he's a bad influence on America, blah blah blah you get it). TRIPLE problem: England, as much as he hates to admit it, loves to gossip with France about America, and France ABSOLUTELY does not approve of Germany. If France catches wind of America hanging out with Germany at an Octoberfest, where there is going to be alcohol (Fun Fact: canonically, France doesn't like it when America drinks alcohol bc he still sees him as "too young") the couple will have HELL to pay.
Germany is aware of the obstacles, but America isn't. So the entire evening is basically Germany desperately trying to hide America from Prussia and England while trying to continue the date as normal to not stress out America.

It was a rare thing to see Alfred standing still.
It looked good on him.
For what felt like the thousandth time that night Ludwig found himself staring distractedly at Alfred across the room. His suit was well tailored, deep burgundy red to contrast his blue eyes. He’d shined his shoes just before the party. His hair was slicked back, similar to how Ludwig’s usually was. He knew it wasn’t Alfred’s preferred style, and some small part of him almost felt a little guilty thinking about how handsome his partner looked. He found Alfred attractive when he was dressed casually, too. This was just…
On a normal day, Alfred was handsome.
Right now, he looked like red velvet cake. Decadent.
Alfred had caught him looking a few times. So far it had only been quick glances to the side and then back to whoever he’d been talking to, maybe with a mild uptick in one of his eyebrows. He probably thought Ludwig had wanted to talk to him about something professional and he was just patiently waiting for him to be free the first few times. Every time he finished a conversation though, Ludwig would quietly disappear. Only when Alfred’s attention had been taken away again would he take his spot leaning against a wall, drinking a glass of champagne and staring, still staring at Alfred.
He wasn’t quite sure if he was chasing Alfred, or if he was hoping Alfred would chase him, but Alfred was starting to look a little frustrated. Ludwig was very good at disappearing, and Alfred was a little too recognizable to be without someone asking him about policy proposals and budget reviews long enough to hunt Ludwig down.
Ludwig was enjoying himself more than usual.
Most recently, when Alfred had looked at him, jaw tight and breathing hard through his nose, Ludwig couldn’t help the grin on his face. It almost ended the game early. Alfred turned to excuse himself from the conversation and Ludwig had to make a quick escape.

2. What their love letters look like
Al probably does so many cheese love notes. Short, maybe a little cringe, full of silly doodles. But it always raises Lud's spirits
Lud I don't think is much of a writer. But also writing his feelings out is easier than speaking them. But he's rather direct.
4. What they do on date night
Nothing too wild. Eat out at one of their favourite restaurants and either go to the movie theatre or home to watch a movie. Ludwig prefers more chill dates like that. And Al can't say no to movies and food.
8. What they argue about
They are opposites which makes them butt heads when the other pushes them too hard. Although I think their opposing traits does ultimately make them stronger with Alfred getting Ludwig out of his shell helping him learn that it's okay to have fun sometimes and Ludwig helping Alfred focus on work when he needs to. But sometimes in doing this they push the other too hard they end up snapping at each other.

I'm pretty sure I didn't rate these ones so here I go!
Germerica: I feel like these two carry their continents. Like America for North America and Germany for EU. So I can see them talking about economy or financial stuff but later on Ame would be bored haha. I think in this pairing one of them is serious and other one is just chaotic. But I also do think this is just somehow idiot x idiot?? Like Ame would say something pretty weird and Germany would just agree?? Dunno but I get those vibes lol so 8/10
Ruseng: Hmm not my taste but I get it. They are both powerful and feared as well. Still doesn't change the fact that England is a tsundere. So not sure how their relationship would work. I didn't have much opinion about that one though 6/10
Estliet: This is cute and adorable. In a fact they basically live with each other bc of Russia lol. I just love they respect each other and have a nice dynamic. As I stated once, in my opinion Lithuania has some good ships including this one too so 9/10

how did they meet?
they're both 16 at the time.
alfred needed to get out of the states so he just said “i’ll do au pair” and got sent to germany.
on his way from the airport to wherever he has to go he literally bumps into ludwig.
al falls down, his headphones disconnect and his music starts blaring.
it’s miracle by shinedown
lud, as one does, looks down at al and instead of helping him up or offering his hand, he pulls out his phone and shows him what he’s listening to. it’s also miracle by shinedown.
al forgets he’s just been pushed to the ground and immediately gets up like “WHOA DUDE THIS IS LIKE FATE OR SOMETHING?” and ludwig doesn’t quite know what’s going on but he thinks he just made a new friend, so he nods along.
al still has a bit of time left before he has to go to his au pair house so they grab a coffee together and exchange numbers afterwards.
how did they get together?
they've been in love for a long time. them getting together was a long time coming, but it takes them ages.
they've known each other longer than gilbert and arthur had, but it takes them until after gil and arthur get married to finally get together.
really, it already begins during the wedding, because gil and arthur make them dance with each other as a means of pushing them along.
the issue as to why it takes them so long is partly because it just takes them forever to realize their own feelings. it's obvious to pretty much anyone else, except to them. ludwig has trouble getting in touch with his own feelings and alfred doesn't think about his feelings. he experiences them.
and when they both realize it, they've been friends for well over three years, and neither knows how to address it without risking their friendship. especially because al knows it'd be a big change in their dynamic either way, and he can't put ludwig (who deals horribly with change) through that.
ludwig has to admit he can't understand social cues at all, and therefore is completely blind to the signs that al likes him as well, no matter how many times someone else might tell him he likes him.
(it's never gilbert, though, because he promised alfred not to tell. so he doesn't, even if it's agony to watch them dance around each other.)
but when arthur and gilbert make them dance with each other, they'd planned this. they'd planned the song, they'd planned the timing and it ended up working perfectly.
they kissed then. and had a long, long, long conversation about it afterwards.
random hc's.
they have two pets. a golden retriever named aster and a cat named fortnite. alfred named fortnite, and ludwig thought the name was ridiculous, but he cannot say no to alfred.
miracle was their wedding song, and ludwig might have cried just a bit when he and alfred danced to it.
ludwig tries his best to help al with learning german, and he thinks it's adorable that al tries so hard. he loves it when he is confident in what he's saying, and he encourages him as best he can.
english is their go-to language, but randomly al will try to speak in german.
they love each other so much, it's ridiculous, especially because ludwig is very emotionally constipated, but al brings out the best in him.
ludwig's love language is acts of service, alfred's is quality time.
they go out regularly because alfred drags ludwig out of their apartment. he doesn't like doing nothing, he always needs something to do.
