I mostly like gcau Eddie for the laughs. Especially the incest jokes (for which he should definitely have been bullied more). And I enjoy his friends with benefits thing with Iris. He’s cute!
Hartley Rathaway: GCAU edition
Your Hartley nearly got a bingo! I am a lot more obsessed with gcau Hartley than the canon one. He remains a bastard but a somewhat pathetic and very loveable one. He’s funny - his pleas about being poor, gay, Deaf and homeless get me every time. He is so much more gay than the canon character ever could be (and has significantly more sex) and I love the relationship he’s in through the fic series (I was going to avoid spoilers but honestly everyone reading knows the gcau and knows it’s hartmon <3 He actually gets therapy (that scene with him and Snart in the extra fics made me very emo). I think he still has the rat thing going on but now it’s gloriously weird (unless I’m mixing up fics which is always entirely possible with me). Basically well done, you did great things with him.

oo it stands for graveyard caretaker au, it's a damie au where jamie is a caretaker of a haunted graveyard/cemetery and takes care of the ghosts there and helps them pass on when they're ready like a living personification of death when one day the cemetery gets a new and far too pretty resident
it's about facing death and the inevitability of it and to still keep going anyways. it's about grief and memories and how ghosts process and manage the trauma of their own deaths and what they left behind and the horror and romance behind it all. it's about people who can't escape their fate and how the love was always there, it didn't anything but the love was still there. it's about a old cemetery and a lonely cottage and a ghostly black dog. it's about a local legend of a body in the woods. it's about falling in love with a ghost and grieving what could have been. it's the aftermath of a tragedy seeped with romance. it's me listening to the playlist on repeat and drowning in my feelings

2 characters x2 versions!! Here’s the first lot…
Eddie Thawne: Canon Edition
Ahh, Eddie. Old reliable. The show really had no idea what they were giving us with Eddie, did they? They thought they’d just create a temporary love interest to distract Iris from Barry and keep the ‘will they won’t they’ thing going, who we’d forget about a season later - and instead we all fell in love forever (and would have been very happy with polyamory but maybe that one’s just me.) When I say ‘canon’ I really mean ‘canon is a suggestion, in this case in particular.’ But WOW then the show actually gave me Cobalt Blue and set up the perfect Westhallen scenario for the Flash, the Negative Speed Force avatar and the woman who is deeply connected to the Speed Force and loves them both I mean seriously where is the fic. (If the muse cooperates I might attempt to write it after the current WIP. Even if it would mean rewatching season 9…) But anyway Eddie is perfect and I needed canon Westhallen but thank gods for fic because the fandom had fun with these three.
And yes I said ‘if something happens to him I will cry’ and it did and I did. But then we got almost acceptable fix-it, for once, so I’m happy again!
Hartley Rathaway: Canon Edition
Hartley was just *there* for me, for a while, until I encountered two things: 1) Rogues fic featuring Hartley (ideally comics-influenced Deaf Hartley, but all fanon versions are good), and 2) my friends’ fics about him. Seriously, read @achangeinpriorities’ Hartley/Barry fics, but I know a bunch of awesome people who write Hartley really well (you included) and he’s massively grown on me in fanon/fic versions. Obviously I don’t love a bunch of what the show did with him in canon, but hey, they gave us a great (grumpy bastard of a) character and we ignored the rest. Good powers, nice thematic rats thing going on. I re-listened (obsessively) to ABBA’s The Piper recently and got some excellent dark!Hartley vibes. And now I’m listening again…
Also damn right I want Hartley’s gender. I headcanon nonbinary genderflux Hartley who uses he/them pronouns and I want their style. I mean just look at that cloak.

not a dumbass at all lol i tend to randomly tag new aus all the time and no one knows what the fuck i'm talking about. i've been asked about these two before but here's some more stuff about them anyways
gcau is graveyard caretaker au: jamie is the caretaker of a graveyard/cemetary and is a love letter to jamie’s devotion. we've got ghosts in a haunted cemetary, we've got a gothic romance, we've got some cottagecore vibes, we've got some bittersweet tragedy with a happy ending, we've got themes about life, death, and decay, and a sprinkle of magical realism???
and lgau is london gang au: this club has everything. exploration of jamie's childhood trauma, organized crime, murder and violence, jamie as a werewolf and a hitman, strangers to lovers speedrun, friends with benefits, sex as a form of character exploration, the monster narrative, being brave enough to leave a bad situation, control, morally grey lesbians, hurt/comfort, angst with a happy ending, tattooed and scarred jamie, dani as an unstoppable force after breaking up with eddie and moving to london to find herself aka get her back blown out
