Finally, months later, I have a new entry for A Series in Hands!
This entry is pretty special, since it is my first go at writing from Winter Light Carlisle's perspective. Also, this fic takes place in Apricity's near future, starting right after the Seattle trip and continuing on through the summer, several months later.

Twilight/Trixie - honestly the mid ship in 'Twilight with her other powerful unicorn reflections'. Still good of course! Though I do think this depends on your exact characterization of Trixie.
Rarilight - YES!! YES!! I'm not even gonna elaborate I'm just going to once again recommend The Enchanted Library
Sunset/Rarity - Actually while I rarely focus on this one I actually love them?
Rarity/Rainbow - Another opposites attract but I do adore the dynamic!
Sunset/Applejack - Honestly I rarely consider this but I think it'd be cute

"Great with your hands"
Yea Yosuke is saying the protagonist seems good with his hands (器用 is like dextrous, skilled, etc), but the, "Um, never mind" thing at the end is entirely a "Ha ha it's 2008 and GAY jokes and/or SEX jokes are FUNNY" thing added to the English script.
Which, honestly, is "in character" with the other 2000s white man humor in this game, like rewriting Kanji to say "come out" or the Loveline book description being rewritten as a dunk on Twilight.

Day 23 of my Daily Drawing. Accomplished Psychiatrist, Loving Dad (who pretends he doesn’t love his family, but only to himself), Westalis’ best Spy, and absolutely hot as fuck, Twilight! Now known also as Loid Forger.
I love Spy X Family it’s so good. I even wrote a story that essentially stole the ending of Season 1 (Cour 2) for part of it. (Not saying what specific part cus i don’t wanna spoil it, but it’s to do with Loid meeting someone). I loved that story i’ve just not been able to write anything for ages. I really wanna. Sorry rambling I’ll do that in a bit. Critic time.
Negatives - I instantly noticed when I uploaded the image that Loid’s left eye is angled left and up, while his right eye is angled right and up. Idk how I didn’t notice that when checking over the drawing lol. Also his head shape is a teeny bit off.
Positives - Literally everything else. I love Anya’s one (shameless self reference), and it is fitting that her father’s drawing be just as good imo.
Rambles time.
I know I said yesterday I am gonna do a thing about Shallan and the stormlight archive, but I realised that that’s gonna take a lotttttt of effort, so I’m just gonna do it when I reread the books. I really want to get that perfect, even if no-one reads it, because I just think it will help me with my mental state a lot. And I’ll probably also rewrite it to be a character essay on Shallan (if I can figure out what those actually are). So if that goes well then I could potentially do the same for other Stormlight characters. (And maybe characters after that.)

It’s weird, I’m not gonna go into it here (in this post, maybe i will in the future)
I’m getting super into One Piece so I’ll probably draw some of those characters. I’m only up to episode 220 or smth, so I won’t be drawing anyone from after that. (and only the Going Merry for now)

'The 2023 film, 'All of Us Strangers' enchanted festival enthusiasts. However, the absence of an Oscar nomination posed a separate challenge. Now, let's take a closer look at this film that has garnered critics' acclaim, raced from one award to another, and secured a special place in the hearts of moviegoers.
'All of Us Strangers', directed by Andrew Haigh and starring Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal, unfolds the story of a gay couple.
Adam (Andrew Scott) is a solitary television scriptwriter living an isolated life in London. Despite initially hesitating to invite his drunk neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal) into his home, Adam eventually gives in to Harry's persistence. As their relationship progresses, they navigate through various events and embark on a life together. However, Adam is eventually confronted with Harry's death, forcing him to sever ties with his reality. Throughout this process, the ghosts of his family guide him. The film initially focuses on Adam's face reflected in the windows of the flat in the twilight of London. Adam immerses himself in the music of his childhood and sifts through a box of family treasures connecting him to the distant past. However, he appears detached – in the echoing, neat but cold apartment, almost empty in a Ballardian tower block, emphasizing his loneliness.
A gentle relationship blossoms between Adam and his neighbor Harry, the only other occupant of the building.
During a research visit for a script Adam is writing, he goes to his childhood home in the suburbs of Dorking. There, he encounters his deceased parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell), who remain unchanged, unaged, exactly as they were 30 years ago when they died. Scott balances the film's supernatural elements with emotional equilibrium, and the entire cast complements him in this harmony.
As the bond between Adam and Harry strengthens into a potential future together, Adam is continually drawn to his unresolved childhood trauma of the past.
Time doesn't necessarily heal all wounds. Instead, it makes them deeper and more debilitating. Adam can't rewrite the moment his parents were killed in a car accident. However, he can recognize them not as a bullied and beaten child but as an adult gay man.
The excellent, highly sensitive screenplay is adapted from the novel "Strangers" (1987) by Japanese author Taichi Yamada.
The 2023 film is not the first adaptation of the book; the initial one was Nobuhiko Obayashi's 'The Discarnates' in 1988. However, Haigh has left his mark on the story.
The use of the real childhood home for scenes between Adam and his parents emphasizes the emotional connection between the director and the material.
There are clues in this film that connect director Haigh to his previous works: it establishes a link with his second feature, the gay romance 'Weekend.' It also shares the sense of a window to the past and the cyclical nature of time, disrupting lives with the discovery of a lost lover's body preserved in ice, as seen in '45 Years.'

Gonna complain to you cause I need to complain to someone about it even if you disagree. I kind of hope totk is the last zelda game. I love the series, I could tell you every piece of information about every game and the 80s TV show. I've played and beaten every game (except totk because I got it late and im getting everything done before I progress). I dont like that they're changing the formula of the game. Why change something that makes the game what it is? It was just a ploy to get new fans but like?? I loved zelda because of what it was and now they're just rewriting it?????? I didn't like botw all that much honestly, I didn't like being told a story rather than experiencing it. It never felt like a zelda game to me totk is better so far but it's still just, if it's not broke, don't fix it. Yet they tried to fix something that wasn't broken. It's upsetting to me.
Wow first of all what an honour to still be the one stop shop for botw hate. I absolutely know what you're saying and I have battled despising botw for what it is for 6 years. They took all the Zelda conventions from us and left no scraps, not even an iconic boss redesign. No music scraps, nada. But I am learning to appreciate that it really was Game of the Year and it deserved the praise it got, but at what cost 😭 I think after straying so far from a traditional Zelda game, it means that at some point they are going to deliver an iconic traditional game that rocks us to our core. And it's worth noting that they have to move away from botw completely now. It's like OoT and MM - after that, Wind Waker was born. They will change the art direction, the gameplay, the story, the characterisation....so even though I know we will most likely never get what we had back, at least it will always be new.
I also completely get what you mean by being told a story rather than experiencing it. My girlfriend and I joked that the cutscenes were like watching TV cuz it's completely disengaged from what I am doing in the gameplay. I always had a criticism that for twilight princess, it's midna that confronts ganondorf and it's all her motivations which lead up to the final fight, but I also learned to appreciate that Link was just a pawn in the game. Like that was Midnas story and her fight, much like botw/totk seems to mainly revolve around Zelda. But at least Midna and Link are interacting the whole entire game. And also midna is gay to me so I love her regardless
Well after writing this I can very much see there are two wolves inside of me - botw hater and botw apologist. Feel free to always vent in my inbox, its a botw hate safe place.
I hope you're enjoying totk a lot more. I thought the first half of the game was SOOOOO good and the second half needed some story improvement, but the final boss and cutscene??? absolutely worth it!!!!! good luck out there <3

Woohoo! Here's another AU entry for my Winter Light Verse!
This was one of two fics I wrote for the AU exchange! Beyond that, I wrote for my friend Annie (@udaberriwrites)! She's always been very supportive and enthusiastic about the Verse! I was very lucky to be able to write my world and rarepair for the AU exchange, for her!
This idea's kind of interesting - see, I was originally considering this concept for Apricity, but eventually decided against it for other plot and theme reasons. Then Annie told me that she loves time travel AUs, we entered and got matched on the exchange, and I was given an amazing opportunity to revisit my original idea! If you are familiar with Apricity and the Verse, you'll likely recognize some similarities!
You can think of it as an alternate version of Apricity with time travel!

How do you feel about twilight today
There was a book series I read in middle school called the House of Night series. It was trying to capitalize both on the vampire craze and the Wiccan craze happening. I for years read the series voraciously until I had to wait for the new one to come out.
I finally got it and read it and went. Wait a second. This isn’t good. This is incredibly sexist, slut shaming, racist, homophobic, weirdly written, and the main character is one of the meanest protagonists I have ever read and it is absolutely incomprehensible that the authors (mother and daughter duo) have not noticed any of this and the book pats itself on the back for how pro women, pro gay, anti racist it is
So I went back and reread the first few books to see where it went wrong it and it really didn’t, they were always like that. I just so loved the world and the concept that I’d been rewriting the characters in my head to be not terrible so I could enjoy the amazing world. But once I’d had distance and got back in slightly older and with fresh eyes I realized the only thing I thought was good about the books was the concept and the potential and everything else had been me doing recalculations on my head of the characters not saying and doing the worst things possible at any given time (If you would like a more detailed look at how bad this book series is on every level Alizee has a great video on it)
Because it really was a very fun concept. Alternate world that is like ours except vampires exist and everyone has always known about them. And vampires get these cool crescent moon marks on their forehead when they first turn and when they become full vampires it gets turned into a cool personalized marking that represents who they are. And some have magic powers too. So as a kid that is perfect to project onto because it’s basically made in a lab for you to create your own version of it to put you and your friends in
It just also referred to people frequently as slurs, as sluts, referred to the one main gay character as one of the only “good gays” at the school because he wasn’t “weird and feminine” and frequently referred to the one black character as various foods
And that is where I land with twilight too. In middle school I loved it but when I look back a lot of what I loved was the idea. I will give this to Stephanie Meyer she is amazing at coming up with really interesting concepts and world building. But I never was that into the characters as they existed, like a lot of people they were just sort of empty dolls my young mind plugged what I wanted them to be into while inhabiting that world. I think a lot of us had Twilight-sonas of what our super cool OP vampire power would be and which of the characters would fall instantly in love with the self insert because honestly that’s a big appeal of the book, the ability to get the plot as a stage to put yourself into
So today I find twilight to be
A. Really funny to dunk on and make memes about
B. Another example of a very cool premise that sadly was created by a person who insisted on filling it in with bigotry and just generally bad writing choices. Which then fuels the aforementioned dunking
