Do you guys know about Deadloch on Amazon Prime? It’s an Aussie crime drama. Two female cops, one of them is gay (and the straight one is played by a lesbian), investigating gruesome murders in a town that’s “being overrun by gay women.” Also, fans of foreign editions of Taskmaster will enjoy seeing Madeleine Sami and Nina Oyama in main roles!
So if you’re keeping track, that’s three women as the main cast, and all three actresses are LGBT.
It’s very bleak but also very funny. Worth checking out!

“terfs want trans people dead”
No, we don’t. You don’t know the first thing about what we believe and you probably don’t want to. Sadly it’s more convenient for you if we’re evil, heartless monsters, but that’s not the truth. We don’t want you dead. We don’t want you assaulted or attacked or hate crimed. Some of us used to be trans and some of us are still battling gender dysphoria. We know your pain and we sympathize with you. Hell, most of us used to be trans activists before we became radical feminists. When you say all radfems want trans people dead, you might as well be saying all christians want gay people dead. It’s just not true.
What do we want?
We want female only spaces to be protected. We want women and girls’ sports to be protected. We want to call out and fight sex based oppression. We don’t want to be called bigots for being attracted to some people and not others. We want detrans people to be listened to and not ostracized. We want to protect trans kids, and part of that means being honest about the side affects of medications and surgeries. And at the end of the day,we don’t care how you dress or what you go by, we just don’t want you to force us to use language that we don’t want to.
Protecting female only spaces does not have to mean endangering trans people.
I want radical feminists and trans people to be able to have civil discussions. I want us to be able to work together to solve the problems in front of us. I want us to treat each other with respect. I want us not to argue, but to communicate.
If you see a radical feminist inciting violence or threatening trans people, please tell us. We do not condone that behavior and we will call it out when we see it, but you have to tell us. We can’t cut out the rot in our movement if we don’t know where it’s lurking.
I know this is kind of a long, rambling post and I apologize. I’m just so tired of the fighting, of the threats and the name calling. Can we at least try hearing each other out and treating each other with respect? Can we?
I’m probably going to take a break from radblr for awhile. I don’t know when I’ll be back, but I want all you fine ladies to know that I love you and I’m so glad to have met and interacted with you. You guys really have changed my life. Stay strong and always keep fighting, if not for yourself then for the women and girls that come after you. Goodbye for now 💜🤍💚

Summary
THIS GAME WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. The setup throughout the whole trilogy was great, especially all within Trials and Tribulations. I love how bits and pieces of each case(or even large portions) had a ton of relevance to the final case. The characters were amazing and had great development, I loved playing as Mia and Edgeworth, that was such a delight, and im so glad we got to battle it out against Franziska as edgeworth. I love the other 2 games but the cohesiveness of the entire story within this game was spectacular. It truly reminded me of DGS 1&2 and why i love it so much. I really love how we also got to see young feenie, bratworth, and mia, the dialogue was especially entertaining. I cannot get over the twists and turns of the last case. I could never have predicted what was going to happen. I love complex mysteries like this, they're so entertaining but also im constantly thinking 'how do you even plan this all out?' The narumitsu in this game is so perfect too... omg. Incredible game , I absolutely loved it!

FAREWELL VESPEROS - A RUNNER OWEN NOVELLA [WIP INTRO]
Tumblr media
FAREWELL VESPEROS
Victorian gothic fantasy meet Poirot-style mystery in Runner Owen Rosedown's first written adventure
Owen Rosedown is a Runner - a detective for hire. In night-shrouded Theris, where the crystal lamps glow blue-white and nightmares stalk the cobblestone streets, he is never left wanting for work. But those who wish to hire him must go through the leader of the city’s Knight Hunters, Prince Aurum Vim-Kaylix, first. The life-debt Owen owes to Aurum gives the prince total command over Owen. It’s a debt Owen feels no regret in repaying. The disgust he feels towards the upper classes is nothing compared to the safety he finds within Aurum’s arms.
When summoned to the Glint Hotel by Lawrence Rhyne, Owen and Aurum are suspicious. Rhyne, a notorious con artist, schemed his way into a marriage with the youngest son of House Vespero almost 20 years prior. Less than a year later, all members of the family were dead, leaving nothing but their manor home, and Lawrence Rhyne himself. Now, aging, blind, and dying, he pleads for Owen’s help. His most precious possession, the box containing the letters between himself and his husband, has been stolen. He cannot die peacefully until it is safe - and he doesn’t have much time left.
It’s a grim situation. Rhyne is hiding something, Owen is sure of it, but Aurum has greater concerns. Those letters could contain any number of half-forgotten secrets, threatening havoc on the upper classes, or Goddess forbid, the city itself. The magic locking it inside the hotel will only last a few more hours. If they want to find the box, they need to act fast. But before the search can begin, a man cries out for help. The thief himself begs for mercy, claiming to be plagued by the only witness to his crime: a spirit in a blue dress, the ghost of long dead Lady Vesperos…
It will take both confidence and cunning to solve this mystery. Owen has both to spare.
Features:
Gay trans protagonist
Badass black vampire hunting prince
Spooky ghosts!
Sad musician widower man
A shy trans medium and her adoring husband
A queer-accepting Victorian inspired setting
Worldbuilding!!
Goddess worship
Oh yeah and vampires
Did I mention the evil vampire?
Because there is a vampire and he is evil

Please tell us more about your original works!!
Honest to God, I was thinking of your stories earlier today and thought how lucky we are you spend any time writing fan fiction (and for the show that is my hyper fixation! How did I get this lucky?) because you’re so fucking talented you should writing real books.
you are always far far nicer to me than i deserve and I LOVE IT! (I LOVE YOU!!)
The wonderful thing about fanfiction is that writing for Ted Lasso has full-on cured my years-long writing slump. And I am looking at all of these book ideas, some of which have been kicking around in my brain for going on 10 years, and i'm like....yeah, yeah. I am going to work on those :D
So these are the ones I'm working on. They are in various states of progress.
My Babies! If any of these are getting finished first, it will be one of these three!
Barnacle - the placeholder name for my DETECTIVE STORY. A woman who has recently left a troubled marriage, our main character is a shell of the person she used to be. Wanting to put as much distance between her and the California life she left behind, she's rented a cabin in the middle of a small tourist town in the northern cold. When a man in the neighboring cabin is murdered during the night, she finds her mind stirred to action as the pieces of herself that she thought lost slowly come back to her. (And then she becomes a private investigator because I love detective stories and she solves crimes and makes friends and this is just the first one and I'm like. super excited about it.)
A Robot Named Future - this one is my long-brewing wip. It's about an AI robot from the not-to-distant future that gets rebooted ('wakes up') in a junkyard the very far distant future. Lots of scifi tropes, lots about the erosion of history and humans always being humans, and of course, food. Like a lot about food in this one.
Chasing Whispers in the Canyon (Western (sort of)) - Injured and AWOL military soldier Joanna is on the brink of death in the middle of the desert when she is saved by a tall, pale stranger. Her and the stranger -- an offputting, odd woman who's absolutely lethal with a pistol - hunker down together in a small town that seems on the verge of its own small war. When trouble comes for Joanna, the stranger risks drawing the attention of her own complicated past to save the woman who is possibly her only friend. (yes, the placeholder title is a song title. One song spurred all of this. I regret nothing)
The ones I'll get to one day!
Boots and Babes on the Boardwalk - I don't know why I titled it this way other than the alliteration (needs a new title). This one is about a partially closeted, mentally ill, middle aged gay man who's running his conservaative family's shady business. He just fell head over heels about another man, and that's serving as an impetus for him to actually look at his life. On temporary hiatus because the plot is a little wobbly
The Lens - Guy who recently went blind and had to drop out of an art program accompanies his still-seeing friend to a museum exhibit. Due to the awkward tension their circumstances have put between them, neither notices when his friend proceeds to lose the camera equipment he'd checked out from campus. With the museum closing in an hour and his friend's final grades on the line, these two piece together where in the museum his friend lost his camera. (this one is more like a novella or a long short story)
The Hoard - One night. One party. Five thieves. One pile of dragon treasure. (Think leverage but the treasure they are stealing belongs to a corrupt government via dragons).
Hawaiian Shirts and Bruised Eyes - A butch, lesbian stuntwoman who broke her arm on a motorcycle meets a nurse at the hospital who may just be the love of her life. The love of her life may also be a serial killer. It's hard to say.
The Frog Witch - vengeful disgraced witch lady seeks revenge against the people who wronged her with the help of a prince who has been cast out from his people. References to Euripedes' Medea.

Ahhhh Fred was one of my new favorite characters introduced s4, i get why people love Chrisy but he should have gotten more attention. His backstory and chemistry with Nancy was so refreshing (they gave her a friend who is not a love interest to interact with ), where are all the fics of him and Nancy being pals trying to solve crimes. In spirit of that do you have any canons if Fred didnt die ?
Sorry this took so long I have the memory of a goldfish as of late.
They're like Romeo and Juliet to me except gay and deeply platonic. Starcrossed frenemies doomed to haunt the narrative or whatever. Honest to god my brain is empty for an 'if Fred didn't die' scenario because his death is too engrained in me but I can speak my shit about before he died if that's any consolation.
They both desperately try to hide their trauma, but they see through each other's shit. Neither of them explicitly say "are you okay?" or anything, but they're good at making the other not feel like a freak.
Nancy asks Fred what it felt like to be in a kind-of relationship with his boyf. I sort of picture it as the closeted 'they were going to a motel outside of town' type of situation where the other kid was like a football player or some shit but he was sweet and caring to Fred in a way no one else knew about it. In my headcanon he's called Harry and their love was probably wholesome and tender in a way that makes Nancy's heart ache because at least Fred got some time. But with Barb, Nancy just fucked it all up before she could admit she loved her. It's the whole 'is it better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all' conundrum where Nancy believes Fred is better off and Fred believes Nancy is better off.
They definitely lose their filters around each other. They're both smart, and polite around authority (sorta), but around each other they will say literally everything that pops into their head. (E.g. "Jonathan isn't like you, he's caring and sweet" - and Fred does not even flinch at that statement). I think it's funny if they're bickering with each other while on the job, knock on some sweet old ladies door and just have to contain themselves in front of her. They're the kind of people to look over at each other from across the room and read each other's minds and try desperately not to burst out into laughter during a very serious situation.

The Pyro Cinematic Universe 2.0!
Hello hello!! I think it's time to re-introduce my WIPS as a LOT has changed! (there will be a more in-depth introduction when the time comes to it)
Chronicles of Avalon:
Chasing Crevices: includes a vampiric deer boy, a zombie who can't die for no more than 5 minutes, a possessed queen, a cult leader, a 7 foot tall snake faerie, an omnipresent mother, a 2 for 1 combo in a faerie and his demon brother//The Gods are being...Weird. Castien finds himself in a maze of a cult when his aunt owes a debt to them. His mother and fathers are not going to be happy with him. Or his brothers, Jami and Kit, who are determined to find out where and when the Gods are rumored to rise from. //ok this one is absolutely bat shit crazy BUT I LOVE IT SO MUCH I'M FINALLY PROUD OF THIS PLOT...there's also a whole thing with castien and his "best friend / partner in crime " Wednesday and it very quickly turns into a gay vampire thing...y'know cause the gods will it....(it's me I'm the gods),,also everything is not as it seems ;)))))))))
Lab Rat: including: the world's angriest tests subject (402), a very scared ghost living in a computer (001), a half flesh half machine spider lady (777), and a woman who happened to be the right place at the right time // 402 is determined to become more than a pawn in some great search for science. She will rip the secrets from these walls if it means she will be freed. Unfortunately, this knowledge comes with a heavy price, including making some enemies in her own facility. If 402 proves herself, she could earn the favor of the researchers and become stronger. if she can play the long game, could she finally see the outside world? // OKAY OKAY I LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH it has liminal horror vibes and a really spooky vibe, I like the oppressive nature of the lab and her initial ideas of the outside world are....fantastical LMAO. It also has a lesbian romance !!
Sparrow's Flight: including a non-binary lead that needs to know what happened, faerie sisters who are the manifestation of winter, ghosts!, a demon who can't believe she has to spend her time protecting faerie brats, a transgender boy who needs to compile evidence of the paranormal, and a boy haunted by an unknown entity // Sparrow needs to know what happened to their mother. If that includes provoking demons, so be it. Their girlfriend, Lorelei is eager to help solve a mystery. This drags in Lorelei's older sister, Adelaide, and Jasmine, the demon bound to the family. Sparrow is accompanied by their best friend, Pallas, who is desperate for a safe space and willing to be the only one keeping track of things, and the new kid, Jedediah, who would rather die than be at home // this one takes place in Ohio and I fucking *LOVE* it....it's such a love letter to my own life and rural queer communities MWAH MWAH MWAH I love you all so much,,,,,also I enjoy complaining about the midwest.....
Resisting the Knife: including Noxys, chosen by the Goddess of Nature and PISSED at the Queen of Haren Aethal, Gwyneira (the queen of Haren Aethal) who is desperate to undo her family's bloody and oppressive legacy, a faerie spy, and Noxys' old partner in crime who can't read but is somehow the Queen's handmaid, and a mysterious man in the woods// Noxys needs to get revenge for the Wraiths burning down her village. She was forced into the cold at a young age due to the orphanages not willing to risk angering the royal family. Noxys has figured out that alchemy can solve almost any problem, so why not try to show the true nature of a blood thirsty beast? Yep. She's gonna turn the queen into a vampire. Surely this will go well and have no negative consequences whatsoever (it does). // i absolutely love this story it has such a fun cast and it's always fun to write a little enemies to lovers........
The Day We Disappeared: including a ghost who doesn't know she's a ghost, a poltergeist, a vengeful spirit, and a witch in the woods who doesn't want kids (but secretly does)// Lucy and older siblings are taken in by a witch interested in studying their paranormal abilities. Little does Lucy know, but she's dead. The elder sister, Okiku, is hoping there is a way for Lucy to realize that is not too damaging on her little psyche. Wolfgang, the elder (but younger than Okiku) is ready to provide a distraction so Saoirse (the witch in the woods) can try and figure out something about ghosts that may help//okay I love cozy horror and this is also a murder mystery bc the person who murdered Lucy also had a hand in Wolfgang and Okiku's deaths too oohoohooohoo......

Hils Watches Oh No! Here Comes Trouble - Ep 4
Tumblr media
I love Pu Yiyong's mum so much. He punched Cao Guangyan so hard he knocked him out, so his mum punched him and knocked him out too
Tumblr media
Oh that's interesting. Cao Guangyan can see the flowers but he can't see the flower lady
Tumblr media
I love that this is becoming a running joke now. And now Pu Yiyong's mum thinks they're boyfriends. Amazing.
Tumblr media
I keep forgetting this is a Taiwanese drama so they can put more openly gay stuff in it
Tumblr media
I'm really confused why this middle aged man is playing one of Pu Yiyong's friends. He was in a coma for less than 2 years and they were all schoolfriends so at most this dude should be 20 years ago
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes. Good.
Tumblr media
Well, at least his bestie and his boyfriend are getting along
Tumblr media
I love how interesting these cases are. She's the incarnation of the tattoo on a dead man's body and she needs to know his name to move on. Of course he's a John Doe so now they need to investigate
Tumblr media
This is the second time they've used social media to help solve a crime and I can't work out if they're saying this is a good thing or not
Tumblr media
I'm honestly amazed it's taken me until episode 4 for a drama about grief and death to make me cry but this dude talking about the man he tattooed has set me off
Tumblr media
I'm fascinated by that keyboard. Usually I see people typing in pinyin which the phone then changes to hanzi. I don't recognise those characters at all

shows you all should and shouldn’t use as a substitute for riverdale now that it’s over
watch izombie. it’s silly it’s fun it’s got everything. clever little puns, blood, a weird girl, an actually good main romance to root for, fun little antagonist, meta jokes…. truly one of the shows of all time and rose mciver has never not slayed
DO NOT watch shadowhunters. i literally don’t care about the subset of riverbloggers on here that think shadowhunters can be a substitute for riverdale. those people are wrong and sound stupid and they don’t even care about clary so why would you even listen to them at all. sorry for being a hater to the mutuals in law i guess but well. it’s hardly my fault the mutuals in law are fucking stupid idk. if you’re gonna watch shadowhunters you have to do it with love for the game you can’t just go in thinking it’s a bad show with fantasy elements and silly dialogue and a gay couple. ohhhh my god i really cannot deal with people watching shadowhunters just to only care about the gay people. basically just. hands off shadowhunters.
betty fans you should watch prodigal son. i know i’m very bold recommending this show i’ve seen two episodes of but well. it’s about a guy who’s father was a serial killer and he’s got this crazy autism swag and helps solve crimes and also there is a darkness within him…. i LOVED the two episodes i did watch it’s great fun
for some fun dialogue there’s always letterkenny but personally i don’t think letterkenny is as good after like season 5
you can always watch rise of the pink ladies for a taste of “what if the 50s storyline had been good?” because well. ride of the pink ladies was good
do not ever watch once upon a time or i will kill you and desecrate your grave.
i think we should all watch lost and pretend like it’s new and hot and hip. it’s not very comparable to riverdale but well it’s a six season long network show and it’s one of the greats and i think we should all give it a shot
i do not think we should all watch friday night lights. it can be very riverdale core at times but it’s really not worth it because the fact that it’s annoying outweighs all that. yeah sure archie girls (gn) might like friday night lights but when have i ever given a shit about archie girls. sorry i know many of you are archie girls. but well you know i don’t care about that man very much that’s never been a secret
i’m just gonna go ahead and throw the librarians out there. it’s a fun little show. idk

Wounded by percival everett im so obsessed with like every detail of this book thank you 2005 !! I mean the way that the inciting incident which is this gay hate crime. Is like kind of solved in the sense that all the evidence is presented to show that the guy they arrested for it was just the victims secret lover who got framed. But then its never actually acknowledged by any of the characters and its functionally dropped like 30 pages in.
Second. the dead wife grief plot except she was also annoying and its important that the narrator john gets to feel bad about her dying but we as readers are much more into his second wife/fiancee because shes fun and sexy and tells him she loves him once per page. And the fact that! The whole romance plot! Yet another thing from the inside cover no less! is also just like Yeah theres this lady shes into me i think i might be into her > cave sex > We're saying i love you once per page. None of this is even scratching the surface of the gay people discourse going on. The like gay son figure who's a respectable gay because he doesnt want to kiss his boyfriend in public and when his boyfriend does kiss him everyones like omg youre just doing that to be a jerk and accuse us of homophobia.. Back to the gay son figure thing. Gay son figure, Naked cave (sex cave!) spooning to cure hypothermia, narrator starts being all like Well i loved him until he did that and made it weird because now i have to grapple with my homophobic instincts..... (also the gay son figure has met this guy like perhaps three times) then starts having panic dreams where his dead wife accuses him of being gay (Because they dont have any kids!!!!! besides the gay son figure!) and every single person around him starts being like Well did you like it when he kissed you are you gay Including his new wife! who gets literally upset with him and treats it like a cheating incident but THEN that gets dropped because the gay son figure is also hate crime murdered and theres this moment where the narrators (80-year-old cancer diagnosed) uncle and this native teenager who's been mentioned like one other time are just like Okay bitches lets start mowing down neonazis ok wig!!!!!! End of book!

hey i’m really curious and looking for recommendations so can i ask what are ur favorite korean dramas? 🙏🏻🥺
hiii sorry it took me a moment to answer but *deep breath* sure hehe! gonna give u my top 5 and try to not scare u away by diving into deep analyses on why i love those so much! i tried to keep it simple!
my all time favourite is beyond evil it’s a thriller romance drama where a hot young man (juwon) is being coaxed towards the brink and almost ruins his life for a 40yo man (dongsik) who suffered more than jesus himself and the two of them occasionally solve crimes! im making a joke out of it but their dynamic is very meaningful and profound! it’s bitter it’s sweet it’s full of tension and compassion and understanding and Love is at the core of it all. it shows u that despite the misery despite the cruelty despite the sins and despite the violence choosing love but also life is the bravest thing u can do. it will change the trajectory of ur life! also acting legends yeo jingoo and shin hakyun deliver thrilling performances in it which will make u unable to look away! this show means the world to me!
then nr 2 comes my mister! it’s a drama to watch for healing and hard times! it’s a quiet and delicate love story between a man (donghoon) and a woman (jian) who make the other one want to Live again. it teaches u that u don’t need a reason to be kind in ur life that a simple act of kindness could mean so much to someone. their love is shown through actions through listening through subtle glances. it’s very poetic it also deals with universal themes like brotherhood friendship loneliness altruism depression vulnerability and perseverance. it fundamentally changed me as a person when i watched it the first time and it also solidified the immense love and admiration i have for iu.
nr 3 the red sleeve! the best sageuk ever made it’s abt a court lady (deokim) who values her freedom and making her own choices above all else and the future king of joseon (san) whose duty always comes first and the two fall intensely in love. it’s harrowing bc wanting them together u know u’re inevitably pushing deokim towards her downfall to sacrifice what she values most which is her free will so the drama tackles the power play btwn them bc san is often a fool and their respective love language is the opposite of what the other needs hence it’s just so good so tragic so heartbreaking! lee junho even won a baeksang last year for this role hes just so graceful and mesmerising in it and genuinely too good at acting! also deokim (played by lee seyoung) is one of my all time favourite female characters she will stick with me forever!
nr 4 strangers from hell it’s a horror romance drama where a tall hot dentist (moonjo) (played by our one and only god lee dongwook) gaslights and gatekeeps a broke aspiring writer with violent tendencies (jongwoo) into joining him so they can become gay cannibals together barely a day after jongwoo moved into their very shady residence full of psychos! closet made of glass for moonjo since he even makes jongwoo a wedding ring (a musty human teeth bracelet)! it’s insanely good i havent moved on since 2019! deliciously gory and creepy it’s aesthetically flawless on that part as well!
nr 5 is the guest! a little bit too underrated if u ask me which is a shame because it does so much for the horror genre! im grateful that the show introduced me to the ot3 of all time: a girlboss detective an overly kindhearted taxi driver and a hot priest (kim jaewook!!! screams!!!). the characters slowly bound with each other through their shared trauma and dedicate their whole life to defeat an ancient and powerful demon. so the power of their friendship is kinda everything and is the heart of the show. also the men are a little….. u know……. like episode 16 has one of the most beautiful scenes i’ve ever seen that is forever engraved in my memory! i hate them! i love this show so much just. so much!!!!!

This is a list of scripted ABC shows from the last season. I haven't heard of most of them because I'm not 63 so I'm going to guess what they are about from the titles and then check and see how right I was. Or if my idea is better.
1. The Conners was that reboot / sequel of Roseanne. But then Roseanne was insane and racist in real life so they kicked her off of it. I assume it was retooled to now be about the family becoming private eyes and traveling from town to town in a gadget-loaded super RV, solving mysteries.
You should all note before I go on that most of what I know about network television comes from the 70s and 80s. Back when it was also cheap and lame, but at least fun.
2. Abbott Elementary. Probably just Community / The Office, but in an elementary school filled with a diverse cast of quirky characters who only seem to date each-other. I bet they do a lot of jokes about helicopter parents and people getting offended by seemingly innocuous things. There is probably a sassy brown person whose culture is played for light-hearted comic relief.
3. Station 19. Firefighter show, where all the firefighters look like soap opera actors. Most of the show is people having arguments and making out, then like 3 times a season stunt people in face-hiding fire gear fight a big fire inspired by some thing that happened in the news around the time they were filming the show. I bet the tag line is "And you thought the hottest action would be the fires!" Occasionally old actors from 80s movies will cameo as someone's parents. I am falling asleep just typing about it.
4. Grey's Anatomy. Oh my god. In real life these people would have retired from being bad doctors by now. Or be in jail.
5. The Rookie. I looked this one up due to the last post. Nathan Fillion plays a 50 year old rookie LAPD officer. Because they wanted to do a cop show with him but he's too old for that, without the premise. He probably has to learn about diversity and drugs or something. No one ever gets shot and they don't show LAPD white supremacist cop-gangs doing dog fights or anything. Wasted potential.
6. The Goldbergs. I've heard of this. It was some writer's Everybody Hates Chris about his 80s secular Jewish family. Obnoxious old people watched it to be reminded about how they just don't make good rock music like that anymore, man, because they are too old and lazy to go find new music they might like via streaming platforms. It has been cancelled. Good, if only to spare me that recurring conversation with people I don't like.
7. Home Economics. A rich white homemaker lady gets divorced and has to get a job as a home ec teacher at a public junior high to make ends meet? And she slowly learns to laugh and love again, while also coming to realize that poorer people are good for more than just mowing your lawn. There are hijinks about her wearing $600 shoes that get covered in cake batter. She has to rent part of her house out to an Indian immigrant family. Starring Delta Burke from 1995.
8. The Good Doctor. Ha ha ha. That show about an autistic doctor, except Hollywood doesn't know what autism actually is so he's just a deranged lunatic who gets away with shitty behavior because he's good at hearts.
But not in the fun, House MD, way.
9. The Rookie: Feds. This got cancelled so that means it was bad, even by low network TV cop show standards. I don't even know how to do that. Uh...some 50 year old TV actress I probably wouldn't recognize quits being a crime professor to become an FBI agent, after her son FBI agent goes missing under mysterious circumstances? And it ended in a cliffhanger when she got attacked by a polar bear in the middle of the jungle.
10. Not Dead Yet. My Name is Earl, but if Earl was a nice zombie. He has a best friend guardian angel played by Jaleel White.
...This actually just sounds like Highway to Heaven, if Michael Landon had been a zombie. And instead of brains he eats Jell-O, and he can take his limbs off and send them into air ducts and up drain pipes to help people, like trained rats.
...I'd watch a couple episodes of that, I guess.
11. Will Trent. Oh give me a break.
Okay. There is guy named Will Trent, who is on the run from the...CIA, because he was with them but then someone framed him for killing the Speaker of the House with a poisoned lapel pin. He now travels from town to town, helping average people and their sexy sisters out of jams, while also trying to figure out who framed him and what their master plan is, to clear his name.
The last season ended with it looking like the real villain is the First Lady, who belongs to some ill-defined anti-America cult.
It's probably based on a book series from the early 2000s that only the loudest uncles read.
12. Big Sky. Some cowboy thing, probably. Where all the cowboys are hunky stoic white men who are millionaire ranch owners. But you are still supposed to sympathize with all their "we gotta keep a-hold of this land at any cost" violent toxic male shit, because you are a postmenopausal my mother and want to have sex with these men.
It's one of those shows that just "accidentally" has zero POC cast members, who aren't one-shot drug-runners or coyotes or thugs hired by rival ranch owners.
One-shot because that is how all of their characters are killed.
It probably got cancelled when some writer got smart and tried to do a thinly-veiled anti-Trump allegory and all the Evangelicals turned on it. Tucker Carlson probably got mad about it for 3 minutes, before he interviewed some Russian politician about how the Ukrainians hate Jesus.
13. The Company You Keep. Black women try starting and running a bakery. It quickly devolved into a romantic melodrama. Black audiences never cared and white audiences wanted more sexy rich cowboys.
I don't know. It's ABC. Every seasonal lineup has at least a couple token shows starring POCs that get immediately cancelled after one season, because they aren't serious attempts at anything outside of the politics and so never connect with an audience.
Also all of them are still written by white men, so what chance could any of them have, really?
14. Alaska Daily. Northern Exposure, but the protagonist edits a news blog when not busy solving quirky small-town mysteries. The Janitor from Scrubs might be in it.
...Well. WAS in it.
This Twin Peaks thing is hard to pull off in a compelling way unless you are willing to go kookoo-bananas with it.
15. A Million Little Things. This one "ended," which means the cast wanted too much money after so many seasons, so "the producers had always planned from the beginning to wrap things up after 5 seasons."
It was probably one of those shows that just follows a "typical American family," which happens to have soap opera problems every week based on things the writers heard CNN say people in the Midwest are mad enough over to vote for Trump again.
It probably had a regular cast of like 16 people, and was on the giant TV in the showroom of every US car dealership at least once. Until someone changed it to that show which is just Kitchen Nightmares, but Gordon Ramsey has been replaced by a balding round man who lacks his charm and good heart and is just an asshole to struggling restaurateurs.
You know the one.
Or, at least, your parents do.
Update: The Conclusion

tagged by @milfcoded to post 8 shows to get to know me better (sorry it took forever!)
tagging @mistoffeleesisawitch @juanitasupreme @aemond1eye @theaftermandeluxe2013  @alyswesthill
And anyone else who wants to!
in no particular order:
• Pushing Daisies (2007) - Lee Pace baking pies and solving crimes??? The dialogue is my favorite, it’s so punchy and fun and I never get tired of it. The show is perfect and I hate that it got cancelled so soon. The way everything is getting a reboot/sequel show but not this??? It’s homophobia. One of the only shows I can actually rewatch again and again.
• Elementary (2012)- We were ROBBED of Natalie Dormer’s Moriarty. Lucy Liu as Joan Watson is the loml. I have never cared about Sherlock but I had such a fun time watching this show. The writing is top notch and while it is copaganda, it is fun copaganda.
• Crazy Ex-girlfriend (2015) - Rachel Bloom knows me and my trauma and my mental illness so well she wrote several songs about it. But seriously it’s such a good show and it handles mental illness in such a good way. The series finale actually feels satisfying which is rare for me. I sing most of the songs like every day. Several of them are on my mental breakdown playlist. So good, 10/10.
•The Flash (2014) - You know what I don’t get tired of Iris telling Barry to just run faster. Like I’m sorry Iris West is just that girl, and she needs to get more props for kickstarting the trend of robbing redheads of their representation. Candice Patton is the loml. This show is bad and cringe and gone on for too long but sometimes I just need a show where the hero saves the day because he loves his family and friends.
• Succession (2018) - They’re all horrible horrible people....but I could fix Shiv Roy. Listen I’m part of the succession hive since season two and I love it. Sometimes HBO prestige tv is good.
• Real Housewives of Potomac (2016) - They are the best houswives of the moment. After rhony and rhobh started to flop and rhoslc was filled with trump stans we needed a hero, and rhop came through. I root for these ladies, and I cry for these ladies.
• Dickinson (2019) - ....Alena Smith owes me millions in emotional damages. I cannot believe that Hailee Steinfield isn’t a little gay like she’s too good at playing gay. The writing is flawless, every season makes me bawl, emily and sue are just those girls and no one else comes close.
• Interview with the vampire (2022)- I’ve never been an Anne Rice vampire gay but I’m gonna have to be now. The writing is my favorite. The dialogue is legit poetry. They’re so gay and so dramatic. I never liked Lestat until Sam Reid, he just did what tom cruise could not. Also I will miss Bailey Bass so much as Claudia.

We have a bumper crop of new Phantom literature as we race into summer!
Patricia Peacock und das Phantom in der Oper by Tiffany Crockham is a German-language mystery about a crime-solving duo in period times who are stuck trying to protect a famous Italian diva at the Cairo Opera House who is being ruthlessly targeted, along with the rest of the ensemble, by a mysterious figure haunting the place.
The Voyeur of the Opera: Captive in His Lair by Dulcinea Drakos is a sultry retelling of the original story, with plenty of sex scenes and a focus on which of her two lovers Christine will choose in the end.
Not Alone by A.L. Flagg is a flipped-roles modern-day story in which a young woman named Eden is attacked, leaving her severely scarred and hiding from the world, until she falls in love with a newcomer and must decide whether she can come out of isolation and how to deal with the world that hurt her in the first place. (I’d call it a bit more of a Beauty & the Beast story, but like many publishers, this one claims it’s a “fusion” of that story with the Phantom one.)
Chandelier by Michael Leon is the sequel to his previous book, Phantoms, and carries on the story after Erik’s escape from the opera house, moving to the future of the 22nd century where an aging diva hides secrets from other performers and a young pianist is frightened by the sudden and incredible increase of his peformance skills.
The Phantom of Nob Hill Theater by John Luke Maxwell is a gay romance novel about a retired porn actor, the community theater performance he’s involved in, and someone behind the scenes trying to Stop the Show and/or kill the performers. Of course, it’s very sexy. It’s literally in the theater’s name.
The Lost Melody by Joanna Davidson Politano is a period story about a young pianist who, when her parents die, discovers a strange connection to a woman currently being held in an asylum and struggles with strange letters and unearthly music that seem to follow her everywhere she goes.
In Too Deep by Elaine Runmore is a period rewrite of the original story, in which Christina is a street busker singing for coins in an English port and is being followed by a mysterious dark figure in the shadows who would do anything to hear her voice...
Behind the Mask by MaryAnn Sires is a prequel to her long-running The Phantom’s Lady series, although the prerelease announcement doesn’t give us much to go on as far as what it’s about. We can probably safely guess it’s at least got some backstory for the Phantom and the other main characters, though!
Corruption by Jenika Snow is a modern-day version of the story in which the Phantom character is a hired killer for the Russian mafia and struggles with his love for the innocent young ballerina he knew in childhood, only to kidnap her and keep her hostage when he realizes that she is about to marry someone else.
A Dance with Danger by Marisa Wright is the story of a ballet dancer who, after his legs are crushed and he loses the ability to dance or walk, hides from the rest of the world, only to be dragged back into the light when he meets his brother’s beautiful ballerina fiancee and a power struggle begins to determine which of the brothers she will choose.
We also have three “maybe” options this week, for those who like to intrepidly find out exactly how much Phantom influence there is in a suspicious work:
Tumblr media
The Vanishing of Willa Sloan by Andrea Dias is a modern-day story about a girl whose mother vanishes during the COVID-19 pandemic, causing her to search for her until she discovers that her mother’s past as a ballerina in Paris was far from idyllic and that only traveling to Paris will allow her to finally learn the truth.
The Phantom Violinist: Play Like the Devil by Nigel Street has a lot of classic Phantom elements: a haunted, possibly evil violin that plays unbelievable music, a performer who isn’t sure whether their talent is their own or from some outside force, and of course dangerous performances that spiral out of control. However, it’s hard to tell if this is just one of those works that riffs on other evil violin stories (like Lovecraft’s Erich Zann) or whether it actually has a connection to the Phantom’s original story or one of its successors (the 1989 Little/Englund film would make sense...).
Ximphonic Versus: Symphony of the Phantom Knight by Scotlynd Xing Xin-Bedford is... well, to be honest, it’s very hard to tell what it is? Its set five thousand years in the past in a fantasy universe in which a prince named Addonnis, a superlative singer, travels around with his mentor Concerto only to discover other ambitions when he encounters the princess of the faraway glass kingdom. It’s got a lot of music, haunting, and other Phantom-esque elements, but it offers no previews and I have no earthly clue what else is going on, so good luck to those who find out!
That’s it for this time, but let’s hope June’s offerings are just as exciting!

8 tv shows to get to know me! Tagged by @gustingirl graciass <3 <3
Derry Girls: forever my favourite series and comfort show to watch
Anne With an E: another comfort show, and it was netflix's biggest betrayal to cancel it, it's visually beautiful, the story is very heartwarming, and the music is the most relaxing thing ever!
Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries: fashionable lady detective solves crimes in the 1920s, it’s frankly hilarious and a really good watch 👌🏼👌🏼
Black Sails: my new hyperfixation, it’s got gay pirates and violent deaths, what's not to like?
The Great British Bake Off: yes, I am counting this as a tv show. I may not know how to bake una puta Exquisita, but by the third episode I’m watching, I can judge whether Paul and Prue will accept the contestants’ frosting.. also everybody’s very friendly, not like most cooking/baking shows, so I love it
Agent Carter: Peggy, Jarvis, and occasionally Tony Stark, against the evil forces of random MCU villains in the late 40s? Iconic, what’s not to like? The fact that it got cancelled is to dislike actually but eh
Downton Abbey: the story is very telenovelesca but the setting is done so nicely, and the clothes had a lot of research and they even used actual vintage dresses and accessories!!
La Catedral del Mar: a retelling of the construction of a cathedral in Barcelona.. the actors are very good, and the series is very similar to the book!
(Lo que me costó pensar en 8 series que hubiese visto pahr favaaaaahr)
Tagging, no pressure: @ailec-12, @victas-art, @paddooo, @chaoticconstellation, @faroresson, @hakkiest, @thalias-pine-tree, and anybody who wants to recommend series to me!

CSI: VEGAS 2x11:
'Trinket'
Where To Watch: CBS/Paramount+
Spoilers: Yeah, sorry.
Genre: Procedural
Reactions/Commentary Below The Cut
Finally! A petty crime crime scene! I've been waiting for something like this for far too long!
No, Beau, don't want to be Bill Murray in Ghostbusters! He was a gross piece of shit 😭😭 You're better than that! He didn't really do any science either 😭😭 You're my good boy, I blame the writers 😢
----
Ew, Folsom. I will never like that toxic POS. I will probably repeat that the first time I see him any episode.
----
God I love Beau so much. Mr. Wholesome.
----
TISSUES LEAVE TRACE! TOUCH IT WITH PLASTIC!
----
Dropping an investigation after a while when one person goes missing, I could kind of understand, but FOUR?! Four teenagers from the same fucking school? No. That's, no, you'd call in the FBI and work that shit forever. What the fuck? Who's idea was that for the story? Who the fuck is writing this episode?
----
Classic serial shit in this episode.
----
Oh no.
Oh my!
----
They told them that?
I mean, he could mute. Do they really know?
----
Dry drowning, right? That's dry drowning?
----
Yay! Catherine!
The quiet screaming 😆
----
Ladies, he's clearly gay. I'm surprised the bi detective didn't pick up on that.
”Older guy." Pedo. He's a pedo.
----
Wait, after she disappeared, they got rid of her room? That's not normal behavior.
"Send her on her trips." It's him. That gives him time to do things.
I hope this kid gets to live with Beau.
----
So, my guess is it's the father. His daughter found out, held her captive because he didn't want to kill her, but eventually did. The other bodies will be more decomposed.
STEP FATHER! Oh, he definitely did it!
The teacher is a direct. A pedo misdirect. I hope the boy doesn't go to him. But yeah, it's gonna be the step father.
----
Really? Ugh.
----
I meant to say this earlier, but I absolutely know the voice of this doctor.
----
I know in our state, psychiatrists have to keep their records for seven years, therapists for five. Idk about Nevada, but I doubt many psych people in private practice would keep ten years.wotht of records.
----
No, he's not safe. His step grandpappy is the bad guy.
OHHHHH, I get why he was scared of the water! Probably.
Storage unit. He kept her in a storage unit with the stuff, she drowned in there. Oh, no, not the storage unit. In the house. In the actual house. What a sick bastard. Kept her from her mother.in the house the whole time.
A secret fucking apartment, geezus.
----
Why would he have an apartment there? A secret apartment? If she was only there for four months? After being repeatedly abused? What? Why keep them locked in there? All this has to be bullshit. It definitely was.
----
Well, I was definitely right about this. Missed the twist though. But he also said "sent" earlier.
No crazy bitch.
----
Please, please, let Michael stay with Beau!
----
Oh, she ran. She's not coming back. I should have called that. The voice. I'm sure she's more known than I realized.
----
Aw, wish the kid went to live with Beau. Especially because he's going to live NEAR THE DUMP SITE!
Beau, you broke the case wide open. You belong in the field. BEAU! DON'T! THEY WOULDN'T HAVE SOLVED THAT CASE WITHOUT YOU! YOU CAN'T STAY IN THE LAB! I hope he gets back out there.
