This sixth part of "An Unlikely Alliance of Evildoers" was a bit hard to write because I was used to writing more action-oriented fics and I had to take a break and write a more relaxing story here instead.

Raine and Eda's gem fusion (TOH / Steven Universe crossover)
Tumblr media
Their fusion dance is just the scene in Eda's Requiem where they play their instruments back-to-back, but then they glow and fuse - but continue playing, because now they have 4 arms, Raine's arms on top playing the violin and Eda's arms on the bottom playing the cittern.
Tumblr media
Their combined gem is sphene/titanite - base colour gold (eda) with green (raine) and red (both of them) sparkles. More designs and AU description under the cut:
Separate designs for them (Eda is big and shaped like Garnet because she's a fusion between Eda and the corrupted Owlbeast. Her harpy form is the harmonious fusion that happens after the Owlbeast's corruption is healed):
Tumblr media
Alt design for the fusion, with merged/faceted eyes instead of separate ones - I just love how perfectly Eda's pointy eyes fit under Raine's round ones!
Tumblr media
I imagine their combined personality might be like a rock star, because Eda's brashness and showmanship overpower Raine's stage fright, so they can finally be a star musician together. I love to think about how elated they would be after their first performance!
Tumblr media
Plot (?):
So titans can travel through space, just because they're so magical. Several hundred years ago a titan arrived on earth to hide from the Archivists, carrying with it a lot of refugees from its original planet. The titan died, exhausted by the stress of the trip, but the refugees whom he protected survived and started a new life. They are protected by shielding magic from curious humans. They are a little different from the witches and demons of the boiling isles - they're gem-based lifeforms who form visible bodies around their gems, and they have very long lifespans.
One summer, Luz the human (obsessed with gems and magic) accidentally goes through a portal that Eda has made, ends up on the island and decides to live there instead of summer camp.  She meets Eda, whose gem has become fused with the corrupted gem of the Owlbeast, so sometimes the Owlbeast takes control of their shared body.
Luz becomes best friends with King (King is basically Steven and doesn't know he's actually a titan/diamond), who didn't have any friends before her because nobody has seen his type of gem before so everyone thinks he's weird. (The gem society in Steven Universe is kind of obsessed with roles, ranks and hierarchies, so seeing an unknown gem is unsettling). She basically becomes Connie to King's Steven (non-romantic, lol).
Luz has some adventures learning about the island. She gets to know Willow, who is an "overcooked" jasper and insecure about it just like Amethyst, but v. powerful once Luz helps her overcome the insecurity. And Gus and Amity.
Meanwhile, on the titan’s home planet, Belos (not a human in this AU) has formed a deal with the Archivists to be allowed to rule the planet in a way that the Archivists approve of in exchange for trying to find the escaped titan. And now they have found earth somehow. Raine, who leads an underground rebellion against Belos, manages to be the one sent to earth. Unfortunately for them, Belos sends Hunter (Belos’s pearl - Hunter has big pearl energy, right?) along with them.
Tumblr media
Once they arrive on earth Raine keeps trying to secretly sabotage Hunter’s attempts to find the island so they can find it first themselves and warn everyone.Don't know how that goes, but eventually they find Eda - maybe even in the human world and not on the island? So they finally meet again after a long time. Back then she was too afraid to tell them she's a fusion but now she doesn't give a fuck, which leads to them rekindling their relationship!

Whenever I think of Steven Universe I think a theme it explored often, and explored well, was that sometimes the people close to you do things that really hurt you. Sometimes out of weakness, anger, ignorance, or even out of good intentions. And that sucks! And maybe the best exploration of the theme is the Steven Bomb, Week of Sardonyx. Anyone who happens to read this will know it, so no need for a recap (but there will be pretty screenshots. don't worry).
Tumblr media
Now this whole "people you love hurt you" thing on the surface permeates basically all fiction. Otherwise there'd be no conflict, right? But what separates SU is that often their actions aren't justified or noble. Garnet is right, what Pearl does is terrible, it's at best a time waster! But that's what makes it such a good arc and exploration of the characters! Because in real life people are just like that. They DO do things that are horrible, even if they really love you. It's such a human and grounded concept executed very well using fantastical elements (like any good fiction).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Week of Sardonyx stands tall above even other episodes/arcs of the show because the fact that it was a bomb (not like a financial bomb). They didn't have to wrap it up in a neat 11 minute bow, they could stretch it out and reeeeally make you feel the consequences. You really get some juicy insight into the cast; how they feel, how they interact with each other, etc. It was a big shake up for the time too, there had never been such a falling out (even temporary) between the core Crystal Gems. Hey, isn't it interesting how both "gems fuse with Garnet" episodes explore dark sides of Fusion?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright, I'm gonna throw some shade at the SU fandom real quick, so I may step on some toes. But when these, and many other episodes, were coming out there were people who reacted very vitriolically. Is Pearl the worst now? Is she evil?? Are these episodes terrible because they ruined Pearl? And the answer is no you idiot! People who are "the good guys" can do bad things! That's what makes them complex! That's what makes them interesting! But does it make them bad people? Definitely not. Come on guys. have a BIT of media literacy (like me, the smartest guy in the world of course).
Tumblr media
Now while the Week of Sardonyx is, at least at that point in the series, the best execution of this theme, there are some episodes I should give credit to as well. Island Adventure is the very first, and it doesn't even feature the gems! Sadie trapping them on an island to try help Lars is just great, very emotionally muddy episode. Maximum Capacity is the first one where anger is a theme, with Amethyst intentionally trying to upset Greg. And again, not cool, not justified, and that's what's so good about it! And lastly one of my favorites, Rose's Scabbard, because of the simple scene of Pearl not helping Steven up. Not very safe, excellently showing how upset and entrenched in grief Pearl is in this scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wow I like really REALLY rambled.

Peridot and Unlearning (Internalized & Externalized) Homophobia
i.e., here's why peridot's redemption arc is partially (a metaphor?) about unlearning homophobia
the title sounds crazy but bear with me here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
let's start off with saying NO, fusion does not = romantic love. that's an age old discourse and it can be so easily solved by stating there are many different forms of love, and sometimes fusion is just for power (which is a form of love in-of itself, albeit fucked; the love for power or toxic love) HOWEVER, in many cases, such as Garnet's, it most certainly is about romantic love. so to keep it as brief as possible, thats what we have in mind in this post. it's gay love okay.
now, let's talk about the scene i just captioned. this is from the episode "too far," which is an episode about developing a crush and accidentally hurting them in the process of trying to impress them. (however you want to look at it, but thats how i interpret it) the fact it starts off with casual homophobia is important, coz it shows peridot still has a lot of prejudices despite recently becoming part of the team, which is full of gay people, undeniably.
peridot's redemption arc is partially about coming to terms with your sexuality, retraining your mind from internalized homophobia after being raised in such a homophobic society/household, and becoming proud of your sexuality / identity.
OBSERVE:
Tumblr media
"you dont understand! im protecting a planet i was once trying to destroy! i used to follow every order - every rule!"
Tumblr media
"now im a traitor! a rebel!"
Tumblr media
"A CRYSTAL QUEEEEEER"
sorry i had that joke stored for this analysis since 2019. anyways
i'm going to try to keep this short, but more under the cut.
IM SO BAD at organizing my words so this post is rly hard to make so im gonna do it like this.
MORE EVIDENCE THAT PERIDOT'S REDEMPTION ARC IS COMING TO TERMS WITH BEING GAY / UNLEARNING HOMOPHOBIA:
being frustrated about joining a lesbian/gay gang
coming from a society where homosexuality is forbidden
telling off your mom by saying youre joining some rebel lesbians/gays to fight her oppressive society
wearing pride flags (stars) everywhere after coming out
looking up to experienced lesbians (Garnet)
the scissoring joke (from "too far." if you know you know)
furthermore, i thought it'd be fair to include peridot learning how to respect how people identify in other ways, such as names / how they prefer to be addressed. this, most of the time, goes hand-in-hand with homophobia.
Tumblr media
peridot, narrating: "he also said he wanted me to stop calling him "the" steven." steven: "its just, steven!" peridot: "i told him i'd call him whatever i want!" [hiss] peridot: "he told me that was rude."
(from the episode "log date 7 15 2")
peridot learns how to respect how people identify. lgbt win
i should add she also eventually learns how to respect Garnet's whole deal in the same episode (log date 7 15 2) which was also a huge moment in her unlearning homophobia. which, btw if you dont know or dont remember, Garnet does by comparing herself to peridot's (assuming) gay ship between Percy and Pierre from Camp Pining Hearts, saying she was the optimized version of herself (the reason peridot "ships" them; theyre the best team logically according to her analysis ship chart)
anyways, now the biggest most obvious point is the fact that peridot actually is gay. i've referred to this episode a few times now, but thats becoz it really is a huge point in proving my 'thesis';
in the episode "too far," peridot is shown to get obsessed with impressing amethyst. peridot experiences something they havent yet up until this point: a crush. i mean, you can interpret it as you wish, but thats how i saw it. the butterflies, the obsession with making someone laugh, the fact peridot states amethyst is objectively the best gem of the crystal gems and emphasizes "damaging her standing with the best gem here" with their apology to amethyst after hurting her feelings.
and um, this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌈yeag
sorry im losing any professionalism i started this post with. also this is focusing on early-season / redemption arc peridot which is why its kind of short and is missing stuff from later seasons. i hope this was at least somewhat concise and easy to understand, and i hope yall see my point of view here! feel free to add on (theres SO MUCH its easy for it to skip my mind) if you have any other points youd like to make to support my cause and uprising. love you

Oh sht I've seen the ttte x steven universe au.
I adore Edward as a White Diamond, it's a candy.
I have a quick sketch with my thoughts for au with Crystal Gems.
This is only a beta version of the designs and roles, I'll probably change more and more later for their gem look, but I wanted to share.
Tumblr media
Thomas is the main ashole, of course he's Stephen. And let Timothy be his mother, because it will be even more creepy, and I love creepy stuff. Black Diamond, hmm?
I was looking for a role for Edward for a very long time, he managed to visit the role of Pink Pearl, Lapis Lazuli, even Spinel, it seems. But in the end, he returned to the role of Mom Pearl. (Idk why in the role of Pink Pearl, his gem is still on his forehead)
Because of the uncertainty with the role of Edward Henry managed to become a Pearl. Peridot stayed for a couple of seconds before I made him Lapis Lazuli. Although, in his case, there will be the power of all kinds of plants and other things, he is again Flora from Winx.
Oh fck Garnet? I'm sorry, but this is definitely a fusion of Gordon and Rebecca. And yes, Gordon is a Sapphire to justify his high conceit, and Rebecca is a Ruby to break into his life like the sun's rays through a window. But, I'll have to find a replacement for Rebecca's gem, I didn't find the yellow rubies. (I cherish 4x22 with all my soul)
James in the role of Amethyst, it was clear almost as soon as I thought about him.
Percy was between the role of Connie and Spinel. But, since I can turn all engines into space pebbles, Percy has remained Spinel.
Spencer is Jasper. The same obvious option as James-Amethyst.
The role of Peridot went to Hiro. It's funny, but this is the best way he gets in touch with Henry-Lapis and Spencer-Jasper. And, I suppose, it can still work with a certain course of the plot.

the entire show of steven universe takes place in the inworld of a system? i haven’t seen that theory before, could you elaborate on that? /gen
Sorry that we're not really in the state to infodump about this the way we usually can and really want to. But SU excites the shit out of us, and here's at least the barebones explanation:
The show is about the effects of trauma and how to address it. It covers generational trauma, and it even appears to address trauma related to colonialism and conquest, but it doesn't really model that last take from the perspective of the colonized very well. And that’s not just because it was written mostly by white people, though that’s a problem.
The reason it's plot is the way it is is because it's about the instigating event, the Diamond's mistreatment of Rose, and the ways that everyone (not just Rose) dealt with that for millennia afterward.
Right?
OK, so.
Start with the Crystal Gems. They live in a temple that looks like a person. And within that temple, they have their own rooms that work almost exactly like headspaces.
THEN, they are introduced to the audience as the group of beings going around and finding corrupted gems and bubbling them up and storing them in their rooms.
That's active dissociation of trauma holders.
When Steven goes in to one of their rooms to release a corrupted gem that he regrets bubbling, that gem goes and inadvertently releases a bunch of others.
That's an illustration of the hazards of poking around in dissociated memories. It can cause a cascading trigger.
That, right there, convinced us that at least the Crystal Gems represented a system. Combine that with Garnet being a fusion who loves being a fusion, but who can separate and reform, and we're dead convinced there was a system on the writing team, and that the central characters and themes of the show were written specifically for the benefit of systems with trauma, whether that's DID, OSDD, or CPTSD.
A lot of the messages can still apply to singlets, but they work best for systems.
Once you accept that, it's honestly hard not to see the entirety of the show's universe and history as the system itself. Especially with Steven's name, Universe, symbolically pointing to that perspective.
Most especially with how the show wraps up.
With corrupted gems being especially traumatized system members, you kind of logically have to look at all gems as part of the same system. At which point, you start to notice that all the gems are traumatized at least a little in ways that profoundly affect their behavior, including the Diamonds.
This raises the question of what the humans represent.
They could be introjects of people the system has met, the town they live in. But you don’t have to read it that literally. If the show is metaphorically about living in a system, the exact explanation isn't necessary. It's not canon, it's metaphor. Intentional and real, but not a fact of the story.
They could represent otherwise normal members. System members who would have existed as they are without the trauma that shaped the gems.
They could be dream people, the system members we all encounter in our dreams and mistake for NPCs.
They could be the members who aspire to be human, to be able to function when fronting in the outworld, and who are not caught up in being protectors (the Crystal Gems), persecutors (the Diamonds), or trauma holders (the corrupted gems), and the like (the other gems).
But whatever they represent, when Steven became able to fuse with Connie, it was obvious that the humans were really, fundamentally the same kind of beings as the gems, playing by the same rules of physics at a basic level. They're system members, too.
And when the show delved into their lives and showed the effects of the gems' antics, past and present, on them, that made it undeniable to us.
They're part of the system, too, and integral to everyone's future recovery, and part of the need for it.

One of the best things about a new blog is uploading old content all over again as though it were new.
Here is Peach and Lilac. I also included their fusion, Andamooka Opal and Lilac’s former master Tiffany Stone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tiffany stone is a gem that originally worked in the court of Pink Diamond. They function as librarians and keep records and archives of gem history and colonies. They also are in charge of propaganda to an extent, recording things to make the diamonds sound good and powerful and censoring things that may embarrass them. They are very upper crust and uptight and devoted. Tiffany’s pearl, later nicknamed Lilac is a smart, creative and outgoing pearl. She was never allowed to be creative under Tiffany. Tiffany wasn’t mean, but was strict. Lilac didn’t respect Tiffany for her not recording things accurately and instead recording things as Pink wanted. She realized there were things her master didn’t want gems to know, including the diamonds. When she heard about the rebellion, she realized she wasn’t the only gem that felt this way and ran away. Her weapon is a set of sais. I am considering making Lilac polyamorous as well, but haven’t committed to the idea or confirmed this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Peach is a meditative and shy Quartz. Unlike most quartzes, she is almost completely nonviolent (unless she or lilac are threatened) and peaceful and kind. This is why she joined the rebellion. She ends up falling in love with Lilac Pearl during the war. The two have a fusion named Andamooka, they unlike Garnet don’t stay fused all the time. Peach loves to read and is calm and reflective. Peach, despite being conflict adverse and shy is a physically perfect Quartz by homeworld standards, physically equivalent to Jasper.
Ironically Lilac is the less conflict adverse and more aggressive and confrontational one in the relationship.
Hypothetically if Peach ordered fries with extra ketchup and didn’t get it, she would decide it’s not worth it while lilac walks over to Fryman and loudly says “Excuse me, Peach said extra ketchup!”
Lilac’s corrupted form resembles a moth. Her eyes pre corruption are dark Violet while after they are white, glossy and mirror-like, similar to season 1 lapis.

I need more of the Steven Universe AU purely to see what everyone's fusions would be like. The triplet's fusion would be so freaking awesome, any of the sibling trio fusions would be a terrifying powerhouse, I want the sibling fusions, I need to know what the fusion of Luisa and Mirabel would be like, the fusion of Mirabel and Antonio would be so adorable, and I want to find out which Isabela fusion would be the most chaotic/destructive/unhinged, heck, give us the fusions of Alma with each of her kids and grandkids, it would be a great opportunity for visual representation of how her pressure and expectations negatively impact each of them. I bet it would take people a solid minute to realize Julieta and Mirabel had fused, Mirabel is so much her mama's clone you don't notice the difference unless you're paying close attention or know them really well. Please, PLEASE give us more, I even have ideas for the rest of the Madrigals gem types. Pedro would be another Diamond, if Alma's a Diamond then it would make the most sense if Pedro was one too, he's likely been shattered. Pyrope definitely fits Dolores and Camilo is absolutely an Orange Spinel, Antonio should be Tiger's Eye. I think Lapis Lazuli is best suited for Isabela, beautiful and upper class yet extremely powerful, and Mirabel could be a defective Bismuth that doesn't have the muscle of a normal Bismuth and can't build to save her life, expressing the natural creativity of her gem type through unconventional means and making up for her lack of brawn with brain
I’m so glad you’re enjoying this AU!
Firstly, I should say that not everyone fuses. I have to vaguely follow SU’s plot, but…
The triplets (or, well, mainly Pepa and Bruno) did secretly fuse when they were first made. They frequently caused chaos and got intro trouble, partially why it then became so taboo. It was already viewed as bad, but knowing what damage could be caused to the perfect empire… it became a lot more of a serious offence.
Some of the siblings/cousins haven’t fused together, so I’d need to know who you wanted to know about specifically.
And none of the parents have fused with the children.
Luisa and Mirabel are oddly enough quite like Sardonyx as a fusion. Luisa shares a lot of traits with both Garnet and Pearl, and then combined with Mirabel, I’d be lying if they weren’t oddly close to Sardonyx. In saying that, they could also be Garnet herself - a lot of Luisa and Mirabel’s interactions are akin to Ruby and Sapphire respectively. However, they are also very anxious together, so take that as you will for their fusion.
About the Madrigals’ gems, here is the updated list:
Antonio - Tiger’s Eye (I absolutely love this idea! It fits so well)
Isabela - no idea
Dolores - Rutile
Luisa - Amethyst
Camilo - Yellow Spinel
Mirabel - Sapphire
Julieta - Blue Diamond
Pepa - Orange Diamond
Bruno - Green Diamond
Alma - Pink Diamond
Pedro - Botswana Agate
I’ll happily give information for whatever people ask for!

Anyway when I watched Steven Universe I remember actually getting pretty hung up on the existentialism implied by fusions, specifically by the fact that their existence as an independent being is completely predicated on the willingness of two independent entities to continuously sublimate themselves, and the actual under-the-hood setup of fusion psychology- whether it’s an inseparable blend of personality traits and memories or more of a two-minds-one-body-pacific-rim-drift-style setup- seemed hugely relevant to how conceptually terrifying I should consider Garnet given my own model of the self. When Ruby and Sapphire are on the outsies do I parse this as bad because “Garnet being over” is only on par with the relationship ending, sad but within normal parameters, or would it be appropriate to parse this as the independent being known as Garnet being dead. Eventually I cut the knot on this by recognizing that there is only so far I am supposed to think about the object facts of the whole “anthropomorphized relationship” ongoing metaphor, that’s not really what the show is about, to the extent the show wants me thinking about existential horror this specifically is not where it wants me looking for it, best to roll with it and extend them that courtesy rather than start ranting about how the show is problematic or poorly written or whatever, and I assume everyone else did this too and that’s why “fusion is existentially horrifying” isn’t a take that I’ve seen.... anywhere, really. But it’s a thought I had! And a reaction that I’d be pretty sympathetic to if anyone else had it.

One of the best illustrations I've seen of how conditioning actually affects people once they're out of the grip of the ones who conditioned them is actually Peridot in Steven Universe.
Peridot has a hard time adjusting to her newfound side. She was created and raised (for lack of a better term) where her needs were subordinated to those of someone above her, who had no regard for her, with the understanding that the natural consequence of anything else would be total destruction. While she accepts this as normal for a long time and can't really cope with a life where that paradigm is inverted, she doesn't try to make Steven or the Crystal Gems her new Diamond in order to cope. She doesn't respond to their displeasure the way she responds to Yellow's, because even in the grip of conditioning, she can distinguish between individuals.
When she thinks she needs a Diamond to have any significance, she doesn't try even subconsciously to put the people who are now effectively her "caretakers" into the Diamond role. She doesn't give Garnet the diamond salute or address her as "my fusion" because she's used to behaving that way toward Yellow. She just tries to either run back to her Diamond or convince the others that they're on the path to total destruction and need to "correct" their philosophy "back" to hers.
Her meltdown after standing up for herself to Yellow is a textbook conditioning freakout.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her new context (independence and confidence) is slugging it out with her old one (subservience and fear) in her brain, in real time, and there's no clear winner for a while. And while Steven wants to get her adjusted and comfortable right away, and is ready to just up and drag her down the road to redemption, Garnet knows it's not that simple, and gives her space to process until Peridot is ready to come to her. She's there, but she's not up Peridot's uniform and around the corner shoving blankets and Therapeutically Approved Conversation at her.
And honestly guys, Garnet's response is the healthy, supportive, productive one. Not Steven's.
I think a lot of people, like Steven, are uncomfortable with others' discomfort. And I think they misread the dynamics at work here because of it, and then that gets reflected in the way they write the caretaking of their own conditioned whumpees.
Once someone subjected to heavy conditioning is removed from that environment, the world they find themselves in is as new to them as if they were just born, and they have to learn how to exist and function in it all over again.... but it doesn't mean they have the mental capacity of a baby or toddler who is learning how to exist and function in the world the first time.
Get comfortable with your whumpee's discomfort. Don't try to shoehorn them into a mismash of before and after where they can't even distinguish which is which. Let them be confused and frustrated because they know things are different now, they just don't know what they should do or feel about it.
Get comfortable with discomfort, period. That's what this genre is all about.

I LOVED THE ENDING SO MUCH thank you for such a wonderful ride these past few months! So(u)l made me so genuinely happy and I want to thank you for all your hard work with it. I am so excited to read all that you’ll write next!
Question about Eclipse and specifically Moon kinda maybe sorta! So when the virus still had a hold on Moon, he was saying “you left us” and “why did you come back” and was violent with y/ngineer, while Sun was really hopeful and sounded confident y/ngineer would return for them. Eclipse said “you came back and that’s all that matters” and I’m wondering when Eclipse said that, was that mostly Sun talking? Or would Moon also have had the same mindset of “they’ll come back for us” if he wasn’t affected by the virus?
Also, has Eclipse/Sun/Moon fully forgiven y/ngineer for turning Sun off all those months ago and then waking up to a ruined pizzaplex and y/ngineer being gone, or is there still a little bit of negative feelings about that happening? Whether that be feelings of betrayal, anguish, disappointment, or even just something they think about and it makes them feel upset even though everything turned out alright in the end?
Okie those are my questions, I hope you’re doing well and have a great day/night!!
Aaah I’m so glad you enjoyed!! :D here are my answers!!
Eclipse doesnt really speak in terms of like. Sun or moon taking the steering wheel. He’s his own person! The best way to think of it is like a fusion in Steven universe. The components of the fusion can take more centre stage and control, but most of the time in a healthy fusion, they’re their own person - like garnet! Eclipse is someone with a lot of optimism, he always chooses to look on the bright side of things- I like to imagine that when he said that, it was with a lot of relief. Less of a confident statement.
They’ve forgiven them! They all know it was something that had to be done, as bad as it was, and they harbour more feelings of resentment towards the virus itself than the y/ngineer. If someone you loved was in pain and acting not like themselves, and you had an option to let them go to sleep peacefully while you fixed it, it’s an option that I feel a good amount of people would take. I know I would!

Jail Break
.
What.
The.
Fuck.
God dAMNIT REBECCA YOU CAN'T KEEP DOING THIS TO ME !!!!!!!!
REBECCAAAAAA-
I....
I have.....so very, very, very, very many questions rn.
1.
WHAT THE FUCK GARNET WAS A FUCKING FUSION THIS ENTIRE TIME-???!?!?!?@@?@?!?!?!?@*#[×*'OWAN
WHAT
HOW
WHAT THE FUCJ YOU CANT JUST DO THAT TO ME THAT WAS LIKE A FRYING PAN SLAMMING INTO MY NOSE
WHAT THE FUCK
.
.
Okay brain being turned into goo aside: Ruby & Sapphire are fucking adorable. Their designs are adorable & they act adorable & then just-
They just let two gay characters be gay on screen & they didn't try to insist that they're "good friends" like
It's just gay shit
This was in 2013
Back in 2013 I was still in my denial phase. See when I was a kid, being gay was just an extremely common insult & any gay representing I saw in media was usually just "gay people are so fucking weird haha" & I was....
I was very insistent that I was straight. Like because I was conditioned to associate being gay as being a loser who gets bullied.
I wish I had watched this show back in the day.
I really did need a wake up call at that age.
But from what I see, this show clearly helped a lot of queer folk during a time where gay people weren't exactly being given the best treatment.
Not that we aren't targeted today but it was definitely way less common to see Lgbtq+ stuff in mainstream media. And I'm so glad that this show helped so many of you.
I think if I had watched this show back then, maybe 13 year old Daniel might have made better choices. But I'm glad I saw it now.
Okay let's just get it out of the way.
So uhm....J-Jasp....J-Ja....Jaaas- Y'know uh that uh....uh the uh...J-....J-Jasper. Uh............
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Daniel stop immediatley falling in love with every buff woman they see challenge (Impossible I can't help it woman who are built like tanks make my nonbinary ass go brrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR)
Ok don't get my wrong Jaspers an asshole & I'm glad Garnet fucking kicked her shit in but like.....I mean I can't fix her but I still would.
Also THAT FUCKING SONG

.
I am.....I am beyond floored. I am under the floor.
I cannot fucking fathom what insane shit lays ahead of me. But if THIS was only the first part.....oh God. What fucking insanity awaits me in the future. I am headed into a storm & I am not turning back. Together we shall face this storm & prepare ourselves for what we shall witness. Come my friends, let us set forthwith.
My brain is fucking goo & I cannot type coherently rn. Oh my God this was a fucking masterpiece. How is this only season 1? You're telling me it's gonna get MORE INSANE? I AM GOING TO BE LIQUID BY SEASON 4.
Also kinda fucked up that no one said anything about Peridot. Just kinda ignored the fact that she is possibly dead?
Like, is no one else concerned about this? Like, not one of you said anything? Like, you guys were with her you aren't even gonna say anything? Damn.
Fucking cold.
Anyways I'll be making some adjustments to the masterpost & once that refinement is done, I'll be starting season 2
Also from now on, every episode, I will do a drawing to add to the post. This will make posts slower but I think it'll be fun. And it'll help me with my art block struggles
Also it's an excuse to draw Pearl. ♡
See you guys in Season 2!!
- Sincerely, your moderator
Daniel (a.k.a. Toasty)
