I’m usually not one to make such kind of a post but... well, well, well! This detective from Rain Code sure does remind me of someone... and it’s beyond amusing XD

made some notes about the differences in gil’s character design between the zero and ubw animes. when you look closely it’s incredible how dramatic their differences are given they’re from the same franchise by the same studio and same anime character designer. gil definitely looks younger in ubw as other people have said but i dont think it was intentional. i remember someone made a post about how takeuchified shiki got across the knk movies and you can really see it here too

Jodai Higashikata is the sperm donored son of John Joestar. He’s the pitcher at his school’s baseball, a rather amicable if a bit anxious and shy. Relatively withdrawn he tends to keep to himself and tends to prefer to follow the lead of others as honestly he doesn’t really know what the fuck is going on, however like all Joestars this boy has got a temper, insult the way he dresses and he’ll hurl insults and punches as his way of dress mimics the man who saved his life on that harsh winter storm. When he’s done with baseball he’s eager to learn medical sciences.
That “i don’t know what the fuck is going on here” feeling intensifies when this guy who is apparently his nephew and this funky mirror show up to town looking for him and also apparently the rest of Morioh is rife with Stand users, cool.
During 1988 he was struck by an illness caused by gaining a Stand ability via DANTE stabbing himself with the Stand arrow causing a ripple effect amongst blood related Joestar users.
After powering through he soon gains the Stand known as [When Doves Cry] which has the ability to change the material of an object.

4t3 Snowy Escape - Child School Uniforms
See teen and adult versions here!
I bring to you another conversion: this time, from Snowy Escape! These are the child school uniforms from that pack, because we need more uniforms for kids! They also function well as outerwear!

The blazer uniform's first preset has golden buttons as an overlay, the second has black buttons overlay, and the third does not have an overlay (although the buttons are still on the multiplier texture, so they change with the top). It has 4 channels.
The male gakuran has 3 channels. I'm not very happy with the its buttons; they look dull and are too dark for the third channel, so they have a yellow-ish tint. However, they look better with lighter colors. I tried to use the golden buttons overlay from the blazer outfit with different multipliers, but they looked... worse.
Only issues I've seen so far seem to deal with the bones; the skirt looks a little outstretched when you use light, solid colors, but it looks normal when the Sim is walking. It's not really a big issue, though! For the gakuran, the neck collar likes to move when the Sim's head looks around in their idle animation, which is annoying.
(Child Sims share the same body, so you can enable them for both genders if you want)!

J-Fashion Terms for Beginners 3: Electric Boogaloo
Angura Kei: A Visual Kei substyle inspired by traditional Japanese underground theater performances (Angura = Underground), but it is occasionally associated with Ero-Guro Visual Kei bands. People who wear Angura typically wear traditional Japanese clothing such as kimonos, military uniforms, and school uniforms (seifukus and gakurans usually) but with a gothic twist or references to the supernatural (such as those triangle handkerchiefs worn by ghosts in Japanese folklore). It isn't uncommon to see them wear shironuri makeup as that was worn by Angura actors during the 1960s and 1970s. From what I've seen, Angura isn't typically a style one wears day to day due to its over the top and elaborate nature. Some known Angura Kei bands are: MUCC, cali≠gari (though they are more known for Ero-Guro), Zombie Lolita and Inugami Circus-dan.
A truly theatrical blast from the past...
Erokawa: Translates as "erotic cute", this aesthetic and style is also known as Erokakkoi (translates as "erotic cool"). Erokawa contrasts most kawaii trends by incorporating the concepts of sexiness seen in the West. While it is mostly a "visual art" type of kawaii style, I have seen outfits that do match this style; they tend to be mainly pastel clothes styled after lingerie, actual lingerie, clothes that share elements with Agejo Gyaru, shirts with sexy kawaii girls on them, or just your typical "tight sexy outfit with references to kawaii culture or ecchi on it. For accessories you'll see chokers, leg garters, handcuffs, harnesses and occasionally cat ears. The idea of cuteness is associated with neoteny, fragility, innocence and youthfulness; the idea of sexiness is associated with adulthood, experience, excitement and maturity. Sexiness can technically be seen as what cuteness is meant to evolve into once we all turn from children to adults. But Japan is famous for loving everything that can be considered "cute" and not approving of "non-cute" things unless they are made "cuter" for mainstream media, and yes...this partially includes sexuality that is natural for adult women to have. Enter famous Japanese Idol, Kumi Koda. Unlike most idols who's contractual purity is stricter than a Disney Channel star's, Kumi broke the mold by taking erotic elements in her artistic style and showing how they too can be seen as valid and acceptable. In contrast to other "sexy" kawaii trends, Erokawa was created with feminism and for women to take ownership of their sexuality.
Let's get sexy~...and adorable!
Ero-Guro Kei: If one thinks of Visual Kei they are most likely thinking of one of these subgenres and styles; Kote Kei (means "old school kei", this is basically how Visual Kei bands dressed in the 90s), Tanbi Kei (means "aeshetic school", this style is inspired by classic European fashion), or Ero-Guro Kei, the style we're discussing here. In case the name didn't give it away already, Ero-Guro Kei basically means "erotic" and "grotesque". As described by the website TV Tropes, this style is meant to be an Interplay of Sex and Violence. Most Ero-Guro Kei bandmembers tend to wear clothes similar to Kote Kei, but with more exposed skin (i.e. not wearing a shirt or wearing a low-cut one) and tons of S&M/bondage or fetish elements like chokers, corsets, harnesses, leather and lace or mesh worn together and masquerade masks. Despite this, for most people the "Ero-Guro" part in Ero-Guro Kei usually comes from the vulgar and raunchy lyrics in their songs coupled with horrifying music videos. Some famous Ero-Guro Kei bands include but are not limited to: cali≠gari, Dir En Grey (during their earlier albums), Kagerou and ANTI-KRANKE.

Harpoon Hybrid - CSM oc
(Edit: Name change, 16/04/24.)
Second oc!! (One of my favs<3)
His name is Botan Kawase!! (Affectionately shortened to Bo!!!) I forgot to put in on the ref but he's 5'4 ft (around 163 cm)
Outfits: Public Safety uniform, Fourth East gakuran and deckhand port cloth.

⚠️Warning:—Manipulation mentions (Makima), badly drawn blood on the last pic.
Botan is calm, polite and keeps an stoic facade (which Yoshida breaks easily.) most of the time, school and work equally. He's socially awkward and tends to avoid conversations by giving small talk, answering with just a "yes", a nod, a "no" or a head shake. After what happened in his hometown, Yazui, in addition to the fact that he is now in a profession where people could die for just be around him, he is not very interested in making friends, still the harpoon can't help but get attached to certain people around him. Botan is still a teenager (17 or 18 y/o.)
He is the Harpoon Hybrid, he prefers not to talk about how he merged with the devil. But the encounter happened a few months before the Yazui port staff found him,
Botan is currently working for Public Safety, deciding to stay after being freed from Makima's control in the Control Devil Arc; now member of Special Division 7
He used to be a deckhand in Yaizu's city port, Shizuoka prefecture, being hired as a private devil hunter by the port staff and crew when they found him, he had killed the Sea Urchin Devil near the installations in his hybrid form. He was offered a home, water, food and other basic needs in exchange for being, so to speak, security against devils who attacked the port, staff, prevented any process or exit of the boats¿ He formed a bond with most of the tribulation members and saw some of them as father/mother figures and family.
Public Safety learned of his existence through a staff error and immediately took him away, laying off some staff members. Makima being Makima, pulled some strings to have the harpoon hybrid transferred to Tokyo to be a member of Special Division 5 along the rest of the weapons. Botan was easy prey for Makima, he felt extremely guilty for getting some of the crew fired and she offered him comfort through a false façade of a mother figure. (Just as a small clarification, Botan never had romantic feelings towards Makima, he saw her more as a mother and wanted to protect her during his brainwash.)
The Harpoon now with free will really saw no point in trying to return to Yazui, he felt sorry and guilty and it just didn't feel right for him to return. With no better alternative, he stayed at Public Safety and began renting an apartment in Tokyo with his salary; still wears one of the port's hooks as a bracelet along with keeping some photos and shells from his time still in Shizuoka, a few decorate his apartment along other sea themed objects.
Botan was assigned as Yoshida's partner, Denji's bodyguard, and was ordered by his superior to harpoon out the chainsaw hybrid's heart if he at any time disobeyed orders or lost control.
🎣— First meeting!! (oc x canon)
With a new job and a new mission to protect a certain blonde boy, of course this was not going to be a job just for the Harpoon. Botan was quiet and quite upright with Yoshida at first, he limited himself to only talking about the mission even though Yoshida wanted to know more and was curious about the hybrid. Hirofumi of course insisted in getting to know each other better and ended up dragging reluctantly the harpoon to a Cafe so they could talk more comfortably unlike the PS building which air conditioner probably never goes off in 24/7, they had a few drinks and desserts together and suddenly Botan was starting to think this guy is maybe not that bad as he initially looked.
Botan thought Yoshida was kind of weird at first (and still kind of does) but he has developed admiration towards his professionalism and totally grown a camaraderie like for him.
No, he's not going to elaborate about what he thinks about Yoshida, nothing further than a "He does a good job."
He knows he's pretty you don't need to tell him, man literally sees him daily, no, he's not going to admit he thinks he's pretty.
Botan makes sure to assist Yoshida whenever he gets hurt in missions, even if it's just a small scratch that not even himself had noticed until the hybrid pointed out.
At some point Botan called him Hirofumi instead of Yoshida and apologized quickly but a smile and a "It's fine, you can call me Hirofumi" with a rather warmer tone than usual from the eerie boy was enough for the harpoon to start using his name on him always. No, he didn't get home happy that day, "The pollen in the air tickles my nose." and he was smiling more than usual that day... "Hm? We're not in spring yet? Uh, how strange then." and he shrugged.
🎣— Hybrid form!!
Botan possesses a small gun trigger on his upper back which he usually covers with his hair which, forgive the redundancy, triggers his hybrid transformation by being pulled. (May change this in the future)
In this appearance his head is replaced by an harpoon gun or canyon that he can shoot along the harpoons attached to his arms by pointing with his index finger, he also can also simply detach the harpoons to throw them in more traditional way or use them in melee combat just like the Spear Hybrid.
The ropes tied to the harpoons are useful for him to make the weapons return to him, the ropes are infinite and don't really have a limit to stop stretching but they can be rip by a blunt weapon or sharp object.
If Botan losses any of his harpoons under any circumstance he can simply generate/create them again to replace the ones he lost, the harpoons are sharp enough to pierce through a Sperm whale and a Blue whale easily.
The harpoon hybrid accuracy allows him to hit targets easily and freely even if they're hundreds of meters away from him.
He possesses as well the other same abilities than the rest of The Weapons have as: Augmented body, healing by blood consumption and nigh-immortality.
Botan tries to perfect his handling of weapons such as: the poleaxe, the fauchard, the glaive and firearms in general to avoid depending from his hybrid form, in a way aspiring to be like Quanxi.

I don't really know that much about japanese traditional wear but why do you think Sumire's clothes are a bit more intricate or different from just the standard kimono?
Do you think it was an artistic choice or was it because Sumire was a sacrifice or do you have any other ideas?
Idk her outfits are so pretty they have so many bows and patterns but dont clash for some reason in my opinion.. So much care is put in au outfits as well..

Hi! In truth I don't know much about Japanese clothes, nor have I formally studied them. I love to admire them and have picked up a few things over the years, but my knowledge is certainly lacking...
She is often wearing furisode, a type of kimono typically associated with young, unmarried woman. Noble kids especially might wear these back in the day...and by back in the day I mean super back in the day. I'm not exactly sure when Sumire lived but I personally imagine her living sometime before or during the early 19th century.
You can tell someone is wearing furisode because their sleeves are longer than typical kimono sleeves.
I personally think the intricacy of her kimono is at least partially intended to signify her status as a noble. Sacrifice though she may be, Sumire comes from a rich family, so I think her nice clothes reflect that...
You may have also noticed she seems to wear clothes underneath her kimono. For the particular outfit seen below, she seems to wear three kimono at once, based on what we see when she undresses in front of Nene. The innermost white kimono reminds me of a juban, which is just kimono you wear under your kimono. I think this is all just a practice to keep warm.
Besides that, AidaIro often likes to make their characters look pretty. While the gakuran, Hanako's uniform, is a pretty unappealing outfit in real life, they really embelish it to make him look fancy.
The trim on his jacket, the fancier cape, even the hat has a bit more OOMPH...y'know? Not to say that Sumire's fashion isn't realistic, I just wouldn't be surprised if it's a bit more striking than average...
Stuff like the ribbon in her hair seems to keep her instantly identifiable, too. Makes her distinguished from Aoi... (left: Sumire, right: Aoi)

I got a few questions about what was going on with SUGARBABYLOVE, so I started typing it out and then stopped and realised it'd be much funnier to do an extremely granular point-by-point explanation of nearly every single reference and influence in it

BLUE SIDE
Sugar Baby Love, Les Blue Belles - the namesake of the piece, and also where I colourpicked the original background from
Komeiji Satori, Touhou Project - the Łucja on the left's personality is inspired by Satori
Fuura Kafuka, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - not actually referenced directly in Łucja's design, but a later reference makes this important to point out now
Litchi☆Hikari Club - I didn't realise it until after I finished, but I was 100% unconsciously focusing this image on hands because of L☆HC
Las dos Fridas - somewhat inherited imagery from the Komeijis, but I did have it in mind
Subarashiki Hibi ~Furenzoku Sonzai~ - the background, faintly visible at the top of the image, is based on a certain cool hideout. also note the Łucjas' eyes, for no particular reason
Thurible - the cross at the centre of the image rests on top of a thurible. because the top and bottom of the middle section are obscured, it rests mostly out of frame
Embryonic Rabbit and La Vierge au Lapin - the smoke enveloping the central cross is taking the shape of an embryonic rabbit, not quite fully developed, not quite corporeal
Fuura Kafuka, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - the X pins on Łucja's hat are actually hairpins that she moves up when wearing the hat. in this image, the second Łucja has swapped hers for straight pins
Komeiji Koishi, Touhou Project - the left Łucja's exhausted expression has been switched out for an empty smile. cute!
Altarpiece - the layout of the image is inspired by an altarpiece, albeit with certain sections obscured. accordingly, the piece centres on an (embryonic) rabbit wrapped around a cross
ORANGE SIDE
Berserk - it's kind of hard to include eclipse imagery without pulling from Berserk if you're poisoned. it goes without saying that I am poisoned.
Mushi, The Stalin - this album art was always really striking to me, so it was only natural to homage it. I'm actually a pretty big fan of The Stalin, so references to them show up in a (kind of embarrassing) amount of my creative output
Trash, The Stalin - the mass of gory hands is kind of self-explanatory here
De fornas likgaldrar, Bekëth Nexëhmü - this one requires extra explanation because I fucked up and got a story wrong. during the recording of an album, one member of this duo tried to strangle the other and they broke up the band for a while. the problem is that I misremembered, because it wasn't De fornas likgaldrar that got delayed, it was De dunkla herrarna. so this is an entirely aesthetic pull now.
Eastern Cross and Brazen Serpent - this one's kind of hard to explain if you don't know what Bartholomew's crosier looks like, but it's being gestured at with Ophian imagery as things get more chaotic towards the centre of the image
Gleb Sysoev - while the straps aren't visible in this image after colouring, the outfit both Łucjas are wearing is somewhere between a gakuran and the outfit Gleb often wears while performing with Ultar
Squigly - the snake wrapping around the right Łucja emerged after I got frustrated with how out-of-place her crab claw looked and opted not to include it. I still wanted one really confusing thing in the image, and I ended up landing on using Squigly's Parasite
That One Fucking Scene From Gokseong/The Wailing - another case of me misremembering something, except this time it was the context of the scene literally warping my memory of it. you know the one scene in the cave? I thought it included a much closer shot of the stranger's eyes. I might have mixed it up in my head with that one scene from Insidious, but oh well lol
Angel's curse whispered in the edge of despair, Envy - it got drawn over to the point where it's not entirely obvious, but the background behind Łucja was originally based on this album art
