Funfair
Larissa Weems x fem reader
Summary: You and Larissa are chaperoning the students at the local funfair in town. The night is filled with food, games and a kiss on top of the ferris wheel.
Warnings: use of a weapon
Requests open
———————————
It’s that time of the year again when the funfair is in town. It was always a great experience and something you looked forward to. The students love it too because on the final day of the fair they were all able to go down and enjoy the last night.
Larissa had asked a number of faculty to chaperone the students to make sure that they were all behaving and not causing any trouble. This is because there are also a load of normies that are attending the fair tonight as well which can always stir up trouble.
The one advantage that you had over most is that you were young so could relate to a lot of the students due to the close age gap you shared between them. You were really looking forward to tonight. Yes you did have to keep an eye on the students but you were also allowed to have a good time.
You were kind of hoping that Larissa would be here tonight as well. Since working at the school you seemed to have developed a school girl crush on the older woman. You knew that nothing would ever come from it and this was simply just a crush but you kind of hope that she does appear tonight even if it means you can watch from afar.
You were currently sitting on a bench by yourself monitoring everything that was going on in front of you when a group of your students came up to you. “Hey Miss, did you want to come and help us win this giant panda? It’s huge but the game looks complect” they said to you. “Show me where this giant panda is now!” you shouted standing on your feet letting your students show you the way.
They took you to the stand that had about five giant pandas that you could win. You looked at the game which was bucket ball. Probably one of the hardest games to play. Makes sense that they would put such great prizes on it. You turned to look at your students.
“Seriously guys, this is probably one of the most hardest games you could have chosen to play” you stated quite matter of factly. “But Miss, the giant panda!” they begged you which only made you giggle a little. “Fine I will try, but this game takes great skill so don’t expect much from me” you said as you gave your money to the guy running the game.
“All you have to do is get one ball into the bucket. If it stays in you win. You get three tries. Good luck” he said to you, handing you three baseballs. Well this is going to be tricky. You throw the first ball hitting the back of the bucket which causes it to bounce out. You throw the second ball this time a little lighter causing it to miss completely which causes you to silently curse under your breath. Grabbing the third ball you really assess the situation.
By this point all of your students were hovering on edge wondering if you would get it in. You threw the ball with a little more force this time but also added a slight spin on it. You watched as the ball landed in the bucket and then spun around it slightly before falling back into the bottom of the bucket.
You stood back in shock as the bloke took down one of the pandas and handed it to you. “Congrats Miss, you now have a giant panda”. You and your students must have looked like right fools as you jumped up and down in the middle of the funfair hugging this giant panda that you just won.
“Well here you go guys! Hope this guy was worth that stress” you laughed at them. “Thanks miss! We will take good care of him” they said to you before turning to go find the rest of their friends to show them their new giant panda. All you could do was laugh.
You turned back around to go sit back where you were originally sitting to find that the one and only Larissa Weems was now at the picnic bench you were originally sitting, staring at you and the scene that just unfolded in front of her. Fuck it you thought to yourself as you walked over to Larissa sitting down opposite her.
“I’m quite surprised to see you here tonight Larissa” you said to her as you sat down. “Well I normally don’t come to these kinds of events but I had finished all my work for the evening for once and decided to come see what the big fuss is all about at this funfair. I could see you guys having a good time. What was that all about anyway?” she asked you, raising an eyebrow.
“They wanted me to try and win a giant panda for them in one of the hardest games here” you laughed. Larissa smiled at you “At least you won it though.”
“Yeah that’s true. Would have been nice to win something for myself though” you laughed to yourself. “Well why don’t you go and win something?” Larissa asked with a quizzical look.
“Not really much fun when you're on your own. Unless you want to come join me?” You asked taking your shot with the older woman.
“What? Like a date?” She asked you. That wasn’t at all what you meant but this sudden urge just took over. “Yeah like a date” you said blushing slightly worried about the rejection you were most likely to receive.
“That would be lovely y/n” she said smiling at you. “Well come on then! We have some prizes to win” you laughed, grabbing Larissa’s hand before dragging her over to the line of booths that had all the fairground games.
You both made your way down the line of games. You both started playing the balloon and dart game. It’s a fairly simple game. In order to win the prize you had to pop the balloon with the dart. Well it would have been simple if they didn’t rig it resulting in you both winning nothing.
The last game of the night you two played was a shooting game. You have to knock down 5 moving ducks in order to win the prize. You went first picking up the gun and aiming at the moving ducks. You managed to knock down all five and Larissa just stared at you in shock.
“I grew up on a farm and went hunting when I was younger. That’s why I know how to use this” you laughed, answering the question that Larissa had on the tip of her tongue but never actually managed to ask.
“Congratulations Miss, you won a small prize or if you go again and knock down another 5 you can win one of the larger prizes” he said to you.
You weighed out the options and decided to go again this time handing the gun to Larissa. “Your turn” you laughed passing the weapon over. Larissa just looked at you in shock as she held the gun in her hand. “I haven't a clue how to do this,” she laughed nervously. “That’s fine I will teach you.”
You stood behind the headmistress guiding her body into the correct stance while grabbing her arms to help aim the weapon before trailing your hands down to her hips correcting her stance one final time before pulling away. You could’ve sworn you felt her shiver under your touch but it was also cold out so you just put it down to that. “You’re ready. Now just fire away” you said to her.
You watched her take her shots missing all but one. “I’m sorry y/n” she mumbled disappointment that she had ruined your chance of winning one of the larger prizes. “It’s fine Larissa, really. I don’t really need the prize. The time I’ve spent with you has been enough” you said, grabbing her hand comforting her. “Why don’t we get something to eat?” You asked her to try and cheer her up.
“Yeah that sounds nice. I saw a nice little food stall that seems to sell a bit of everything” she said blushing. “Sounds nice” you said, still holding her hand and pulling her in the direction of the stall.
You both ordered a cheeseburger and a side of cheesy chips to share before going to sit down on a free bench. You both talked about your lives and shared many laughs that evening. It was nice seeing Larissa relax for once in her life and it was nice to see this side of her. Normally the only side of Larissa you see is her work side which was nice but this was much nicer.
As you were both finishing your food you realised that Larissa kept looking behind you. You turned to see what she was looking at only to make eye contact with the ferris wheel behind you. You turned back to Larissa who was now looking at you. “Are you wanting to go on that?” You asked her as you watched a smile develop on her face before she started nodding at you.
“Come on then! Let's go!” You almost screamed jumping up excitedly before taking Larissa’s hand once more. You both queued up to get on the ferris wheel and within five minutes you were climbing into the chair. You slowly made your way to the top letting everyone get on. As you were nearing the top, you looked out at the skyline.
It was beautiful. You could see the whole of Jericho and you could make out the school in the distance. You sighed “This is beautiful” you whispered to yourself. “Just like you” she whispered to herself. Was she meant to say that out loud? You turned to look at Larissa who was staring at you but then panic spread over her face realising she said what she said out loud.
You didn’t know what to say. You didn’t even think that this elegant woman would even feel the same way about you. Before you even realised what you were doing you were leaning closer towards the older woman. Your eyes fluttered shut as you felt your lips meet. The kiss was slow and passionate. Larissa didn’t kiss back until you were about to pull away. She grabbed you by the back of your neck and brought you close again. This felt unreal.
When you both finally pulled away for air you just gazed into each other's eyes. This moment was beautiful. You moved closer to Larissa snuggling up into her body as you rode the ferris wheel together. Who knew that the night would have ended like that and you couldn’t wait to see how this relationship would develop further.

Had a thought about making a new character. This is Niko. Named after the famous Baikal seal that was forced to eat cement when he was 6. It has no thoughts behind his eyes. No feelings. No brain.

It’s “win your girlfriend an oversized toy at a carnival game” day.
Frances proved her prowess in popping balloons with darts, so that Jamie could get a new friend. Mr Walrus is getting a place of honour on her bed later

Unstoppable force (I wanna make a ttrpg campaign I wanna make it so bad it would be so cool) vs immovable object (any time I see a rulebook or a form of literally any kind it makes me hiss and spit and have a furious panic attack and never touch it ever again)

Did you know the U.S. has stores that just pop up for Halloween and then vanish? It was crazy to me to learn that that's really only a thing here and not anywhere else. (I also feel like the more I learn, the more it seems the U.S. goes really over the top with its holidays, but that's besides the point right now.) They just temporarily rent buildings with nothing else in them currently. This year, there was one like five minutes from my house, in a location that, when I was growing up, was an animatronic-themed pizza place! So kind of fitting that I got some accessories for my Foxy costume there.
Yeah I've vaguely heard about Spirit Halloween just popping up everywhere in the US... Definitely not a thing here.
I know that we have uhhhh pop up shops, charity shops and cafes and stuff but I don't believe they're the most common?? I think we had a pop up charity shop in the nearby town at some point but it was literally never open so I don't know what the point of that was.
Yeah though, generally, we don't have shops that only exist in certain seasons. We have travelling fairs that show up in different seasons but that's probably as close as we get??
Oh and the only time I've ever seen animatronic anything that wasn't a haunted house or something was the Rainforest Cafe in London. I am actually DEVASTATED that you guys have whatever the hell Chuck E Cheese is and we don't I think that would have been cool as fuck to have as a place to go to regularly

Nice Screams at the Funfair is a game where I try really hard to serve ice cream at a funfair but the game really doesn't seem to want to let me do it for some reason.
Welcome to the 3rd Dread X Collection, everybody! This time the theme is "spoopy" and we've got 12 games made in 10 days. Our protagonist for the collection is given a name, Leo, and has himself a quirky passenger in Prometheus who is an alien from another dimension currently inhabiting his brain after jumping in at the end of the last collection. With the new theme we've got ourselves a spoopy little castle to explore and a whole heckin' lot of dialogue to go through gosh dang.

"Tens But" Tag
Thanks for the tag @writeouswriter I dig this hehe
Rules: List your OCs as “tens but” ("they're a ten BUT ___") to give us a not-at-all-comprehensive scope of their characters.
(if you wanna make it symmetrical like me, you can list 10 characters and tag 10 ppl!)
Some of these characters haven't even gotten their official intro posts yet, and honestly? This feels like a great way to indoctrinate them.
Tumblr media
"Shreds of Integrity"
Scott: He's a 10, but he has the handwriting of a 10-year-old.
Dewey: He's a 10, but he calls the bathroom the "washroom."
Kenna: She's a 10, but she eats plain waffles with butter and nothing else.
Madeleine: She's a 10, but she's never felt the consequences of her own actions because she uses her wealth and privilege to alleviate the repercussions 😩.
Tumblr media
"ERR0R!"
Levi: He's a 10, but he's vulnerable to email scams :''')
Lynn: She's a 10, but she listens to pop radio singles on repeat... for a living.
Tumblr media
"Funfair"
Macy: She's a 10, but she didn't even pack any snacks >:(
Devin: He's a 10, but his Pinterest DIY boards are not for the faint of heart.
Tumblr media
"The Fall of Strömberg"
Vilhelm: He's a 10, but he only has half that many fingers. (Which doesn't make him any less handsome <3)
Ilias: He's a 10, but he can't sit still for that many seconds.
----
open tag for literally anyone else who wants to do it! It's fun ;)

I always underestimate how easy it can be to entertain a teenager. I have this preconception that small kids find everything fun even mundane stuff while teens are jaded and self-conscious and need elaborate or cool activities, but my teen cousins are visiting this week and when they arrived I was in the greenhouse having an issue with the filter in one of the tanks, so I asked them if they could catch all the fish from one tank and move them to the other tank, and they were delighted to be given little dip nets and sit on the edge of the tank to hunt fish for 20min. As I asked them to do it I was thinking, it’s like those duck-fishing fairground games from when they were toddlers, they’ll probably think it’s a bit cringe, and five minutes into it these jaded teenagers were like, hey it’s like duck fishing at the funfair when we were toddlers, I've missed it, it’s fun :D
