FUNERAL POTATOES

2lbs frozen diced potatoes

2 cups sour cream

1 can cream of chicken soup

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 stick melted butter

Garlic powder/salt/pepper to taste

Mix well, smooth out, then top with

2 cups crushed corn flakes

1 stick melted butter

Bake at 350° for 60-75 mins

I'm also sad right now because, unlike in the novel where everyone totally sucks, someone DOES speak directly to Qin Su in CQL's treasure room scene. When Wei Wuxian comes up to check on her and confirm that she's not under a spell, he whispers "Jin-furen?" to her in concern. She doesn't acknowledge him, which feels weird, right? Why wouldn't she latch onto a potential source of help, especially one whom she knows is now affiliated with the influential Hanguang-jun since she saw them together during the banquet earlier?

EXCEPT

One of CQL's changes is to make Qin Su the target of Mo Xuanyu's unwanted advances instead of Jin Guangyao. So Qin Su, already having an awful time due to the incest marriage revelations, is now (as far as she knows) being addressed by her harasser whom she now knows is also a half-brother. No wonder she's not engaging! It's ANOTHER INCEST SITUATION! And everyone else is just standing there, except for Su Minshan, who snidely remarks "So Mo-gongzi brought us into the chamber just to see Jin-furen!" which! underscores! her probable concerns!

And I'm sad about it because maybe, if the Suibian reveal had somehow happened SOONER--if Jin Guangyao had replaced the head with something that attacked Wei Wuxian when he pulled back the curtain, forcing him to grab Suibian in defense, maybe--and Qin Su knew Wei Wuxian for who he was, then things would have gone differently!

#people who have rights in this scene beside Qin Su:#WWX (for making an effort); SMS (for being a dick but at least in a useful way?); JC (for reacting to QS's death when he enters)#that is IT that's the ENTIRE LIST #neutral rights for JL as he is a child #slight negative for JGY and NHS who earns points for appropriate reactions but lose them for uhhhhh creating the situation #negative rights for the Twin Jades who are just soooo fucking useless. especially LXC!#either his bf is innocent and just traumatically lost his wife OR his bf is a murderer and should be suspected in his wife's sudden death #and he just sits there being deeply awkward #I mean. relatable! but if you feel awkward you could at least try to be productive about it. get some funeral potatoes Zewu-jun damn

I guess I just...I know there's a lot in our history that we've done wrong, but is wanting to be proud of my culture really so much to ask? To say who I am in public without being treated like an object of pity for how I grew up? i'm terrified to tell my friends what I believe in case they reject me over stereotypes. the catholics think we're not Christians, the liberals think we want gay people dead, my brother's best friend moved to evangelical country and started talking like we were monsters, and I can't even find solidarity within the church because everybody's too busy trying to assimilate with people who want us dead.

#i know there's a lot wrong with utah we're like if an overly-white alabama town was trying to be silicon valley and got the worst of both #but funeral potatoes and eight-kid families and temple square and weird jello foods aren't the problem. and i'm tired of being treated as #weird for those things.#but no. we're white and from america and too christian for the atheists (even though we're not christian enough for the christians)#so our culture doesn't get to be a culture. y'know.#vent post #tumblrstake

I actually have done some TES art in the past! But yeah not much with my current styles and unfortunately no Morrowind stuff :') (the oldest elder scroll game I've played is Oblivion, though didn't complete that either. yet.) But Skyrim is one of my comfort games!

Now taking a little break but not too long ago I started a new playthrough with my beloved first Skyrim character, Ruis (later Daro'Ruis).

And thank you! Though a bunch of elder scrolls fanartists I know have very unique styles but all of them are very funky 🧡
