And Bloweth Med by Christopher Deacon
Via Flickr:
The title is taken from the medieval song "Sumer is i-cumin in". This phrase translates as "the meadow is blooming." This photograph taken at the Palace Garden in The Hague, the Netherlands in August 2017. Thousands of daisies bloomed there, a sight to inspire joy.

Berlabuh. 📸 Fujifilim X-T100 Capt. File types in photography
TaggThere are 5 main file types used in photography, these are:
- jpeg
- Tiff
- PSD
- RAW
- PDF.
Each one has their benefits and weaknesses.
Jpeg is most commonly used when taking a photo with your phone for snapshotting, It is a highly compressed LOSSY file type that doesnt take up much storage and can be send via e-mail, sms and apps with limited data.
Tiff file types (Tagged Image File Format) is used for storing rasterised image formats with zero compression unlike jpeg. This is the ideal file type for printing and many print shops will use this format.
PDS (Photoshop document) Is an uncompressed file format that saves your work without flattening the document, meaning you can save, take it to a different machine and then continue editing photos, vectors etc from where you left off. It is also compatible with most Adobe products.
RAW file format is the format that most DSLR’s and mirrorless cameras shoot in to gain the most infomation from the image sensor, it is a lossless uncompressed file format. The problem is that there are many raw file types including .Cr2 (Canon) .raf (fujifilim) .orf (olympus) and many more. Lightroom and photohop often convert them into the .DNG (Digital Negative) format for easy use. Eding in RAW provides the most control over the image.
PDF (portable document format) was developed by adobe to present documents, text and images independant of application or operating system used.

Rafa Sanchez & Omar Nieves…a.k.a. Best Wedding Shoot Ever !
Yesterday was a very special day for me. It was full of “first time” experiences.
First time shooting a gay wedding.
First time shooting a City Hall wedding.
First time shooting an entire wedding with my Fujifilm x100s
It was not just any gay wedding though. Rafa is one of my best friends. We’ve know each other for a good number of years. When he ask me to shoot his wedding I felt truly honored. Having been with him through some pretty rough times before, it was that much special. I was to be witnessing and documenting officially one of the happiest moments of his life to date.
I met them at 8am in Queens at a friend’s apartment where they were getting ready. I took that time to shoot a few portraits using the morning light coming through the windows. After that we took the 7 and 5 trains to City Hall. I shot portraits and candids all the way through. Shooting with the x100s on the train was a real treat. I was almost literally gliding all around the train. The fact that I was only carrying my Fujifilm x100s and a fanny pack for the batteries (yes, I will bring those back in style, you’ll see) allowed me to move freely and unobtrusively.
For the ceremonial part, it was short, convivial and sweet….as it should be. We came into City Hall and took a number. A few close friends and family members joined them as we waited. Everyone was chatting and having a good time. None of that boring “solemn” stuff. It was a relaxed and good humored.
After the ceremony we hit a few spots in the city to shoot portraits. As the day went by, we were constantly greeted by people congratulating them, and unfortunately a few disapproving looks along the way as well. It all felt surreal though. The people that were congratulating them did so with some real joy and pride. It felt as if strangers were excited to be witnessing a part of unwritten history. Not just for the couple but for mankind. That feeling reverberates through me still and its is something I want to keep feeling over and over again.
We finished the day with a small dinner and by 5pm we were all done. At the end of the day, I was filled with an incredible feeling of fulfillment. I had shot some of my best wedding images yet and I had seen one of my best friends accomplish something great. There was though, one thing missing at the end of this wedding. Coming home I felt different, physically. And then it struck me, I did not have any back pain at all.
Shooting exclusively with the x100s allowed me to get in and out of places all around the city, swiftly for almost over 8hrs. And yet, I was not feeling overworked. I had so much energy, I even ended up editing the whole wedding that same night. Oops, I almost for got to mention, I also shot the whole thing in JPEGs, yes I did. This shortened my editing time immensely. Now, just the day after, the couple can happily enjoy their images and I can go back to more shooting and creating.
