Cine: The Fine Art of Love: Mine Ha-Ha (2005)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

73 Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind dir Stuart Carden for Strawdog Theatre. This show was an act of faith by all involved because we kept rehearsing even though we weren’t sure we were going to be able to perform it. In the end, through many hours of late night and early morning labor on the theater itself by heroes who showed up, we were able to get our PVA and and do the show. I am eternally grateful for the faith the actors and designers showed, it went above and beyond. The show itself was the play the musical was based on, all about coming of age in a society that represses sex and all knowledge of it, and how that destroys lives. I played a professor, a priest and the father of one of the protagonists. I’ll let you guess whether or not he was good understanding father. In the big scene I had with my wife, we were discussing what to do about our son as we got ready for bed and some perfunctory joyless sex. So I helped her out of her corset, and then she helped me out of mine. A uniformly talented group of folks, we spent many a night in Hugen Hall entertaining each other, whether it was the comedy stylings of Lawfer & Smith: Off the Rack/Hook or the T-Shirt making contest, and during the rehearsal process there was also The Late Night Club, which is pretty self explanatory. I would do curtain call as the priest so I could underdress my street clothes under the cassock. #retrospective #2003 #Springawakening #FrankWedekind #StuartCarden #strawdog #MrGabor #pastorskinnytum #professorstickytongue #losingyourhead #tshirtcontest #onanism (at Chicago, Illinois) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6qWnD9JSiO/?igshid=nn28o1vt4kpo

#libridisecondamano #ravenna #bookstagram #booklovers #bookstore #instabook #igersravenna #instaravenna #ig_books #frankwedekind (presso Libreria Scattisparsi) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1dC18So_ue/?igshid=1f54qggiyguwo

Romance and Feminism
As with today, romance and relationships were a popular subject for fiction during the Victorian era and the early 20th century. Literature has long been used to highlight social issues such as social inequality, especially gender inequality. The period bridging the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, known as the turn of the century, was a period of great change, specifically in views on…

Still waiting on the Notes to the musical but you can clearly say that it is my fave I guess....🙊 {image description: 5 different books with 2 being in the center put over each other - a yellow on a green one.
