I want an adaptation of Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein where you never see the creature’s face. It’s just out of frame or you see him from behind and all you have are people’s reactions to seeing him.

It’s just so hard to visually capture the idea of him because I don’t think it’s just that he has a messed up mug or looks like a corpse that scares people, I think they see him and their instincts go “that thing was not made by god, that thing should not exist. You don’t belong here”

I really like the idea that the creature’s effect on people is more psychological than anything else but makeup doesn’t really cover that, leaving it up to the imagination however….

The Giga Chad meme is the closest thing I’ve seen to how Frankenstein’s monster is described in the book.

He’s described as looking like a parody of a handsome man, his features being too big and exaggerated to be handsome. All that’s missing is translucent skin that reveals the muscles underneath and black lips.

There should be a new name for Frankenstein’s monsters as a species. I love Frankenstein’s monsters, I love mismatched flesh tones and visible stitches, but I can’t keep calling them Frankenstein’s monsters because A) most of them aren’t made by Frankensteins, and B) it’s a fucking mouthful every time. We need a generic no name brand Frankenstein’s monster.

Little flip from putting Classical Lit characters into Monster High, here’s Monster High kids in their Classical Lit forms

Draculaura would of course be one of the Weird Sister pack, voluptuously eating babies and terrifying solicitors. Frankie I could see coming to be in a canon divergence where instead of the Creature asking Victor to make him a wife as a companion he asks for his own child (with all the concerns about Autonomy and whatnot still very much there)
