After years of being told I sucked at drawing by my teachers and peers, I told my brother I wanted to teach myself how to draw in my own style so I can express my headcanons and hyperfixations instead of trying to write when my brain won’t let me. He bought me my very first sketch book and pencils for Christmas which I’ve already decorated, and Tina Ruth Belcher is presiding. Sounds lame, but I’m so proud of myself🥹🩵

Finding my Style! Pt 1
Welcome to pt 1 of a series where I find 2 tumblr artists from the fandom, try to draw a character their style, then draw a third character, with a mix of their styles! The idea behind this is to help me find which types of art I like doing, simplistic, humanoid, hair, no hair, ect.
First ip, we have @tulipsempai (Dark) and @tallsc (chosen). The mixed art style is Victim.
Reflection:
Tulip's style has little-to-no details, and it's easier to draw, however tallsc includes more expression and HANDS, at the cost of being harder to draw. For the mix, I wanted the body shape to be more of Tulip's style, but adding more features, the eyebrows and thicker limbs and HAND stubs.

Just saw someone with “use whatever pronouns you use for yourself for me” in bio. I honestly never considered the depth the pronoun metagame could have, we’ve barely scratched the surface with this shit

I've been checking out the notion style resources BubbleGrunge shared on Tiktok for honing your style. I've come through them and their occasional bullshit with some guiding principles.
I want my clothes to help me feel capable, strong, sensual and a bit experimental.
I found this going through the Style Root link on the notion. From the videos I watched I suppose I'm a "moon" root, but I'm not finding that as useful as the adjectives used to get to that info.
I prefer a Gothic, nature-influenced, dark, whimsical (but never goofy) aesthetic.
My colors are black and luscious green, purples and reds. Think deep, dark shades of these colors
The big surprise to me came from the video that was designed to help you figure out what levels of formality you need to invest in. I have not been focusing on what matters!
Lounge wear and undergarments are a valid thing to spend money on and I should prioritize this.
I'd always felt like I should just wear any old thing around the house, even if I wouldn't wear it in front of others. Unsurprisingly, I don't feel my best in those garments! I work from home so this is the majority of time I'm wearing clothes. It would be worth it to invest in things that I feel good wearing.
The Kibbe body type process made me hella dysphoric so we aren't gonna talk about it

Some recent outfits 👗 For a long time, I felt like I did not have a style. I tried many different trends and clothing styles. The longest running style I had was something along the lines of pastel goth and cutesy / kawaii fashion in the pre-pandemic college times. I stopped putting in effort for a long time, and recently changed my closet to more earth tones, and some pastel colors. Now I feel like I am getting somewhere. ☺️ It's important to note I work in a lab and can't accessorize much, so my outfit choice is a bit limited.
