Seville
Recommended time: 3+ full days. 4 is ideal to not rush
Must see: Alcazar Palace and nearby Plaza. Sevilla Cathedral. Sevilla Mushrooms.
Stayed at Fernando y Gonzalez 16 in old town near the Sevilla Cathedral. I recommend staying one or two streets further away from the cathedral as it is very loud in the middle of the night and early morning.
The itinerary:
Day 1
Lunch at El Colmo Bodega (3/5). We ordered jamon, olive oil, and tomato spread toasts (5/5 but had garlic), mini hamburger (2/5), and tiramisu in cup for dessert (5/5 Italian style tiramisu and also other excellent dessert options).
Sevilla Cathedral (5/5) general tickets with audio tour (4/5) but I recommend to bring your own 3.5mm headphones. Takes 34 flights to get on the top of the Giralda tower so I recommend seeing the massive inside first. Toilets didn't have toilet paper.
Tumblr media
Gelato at Heladeria Bolas (5/5 really cool flavors). We ordered sorbet _ with some kind of Spanish sweet root plant thing (4/5) and pumpkin with cardamom (3/5), and dark chocolate (4/5) and strachiatella (4/5).
Seville Mushrooms (5/5 really cool!)
Tumblr media
Dinner at Laherre (4/5). Would have been 5/5 if we knew about the rooftop enclosed restaurant tables and ate up there. We had tenderloin (3/5) and pork cheeks (5/5).
Drinks at EMC hotel rooftop bar (5/5) with a view right onto the cathedral. We had a mojito (5/5) and a strawberry gin (3/5). They gave us a snack that changed our lives forever, Kikos (6/5).
Tumblr media
Drinks at Bar Cathedral Sevilla. We had red sangria (5/5 but not my thing), olives (3/5), jamon/prosciutto/chirozo/or something (5/5), and octopus (4/5).
Day 2
Breakfast at Filo (6/5 best breakfast of the trip). there was a long wait but it was totally worth it. We had nutritious breakfast (5/5), tropical fresh smoothie (5/5), omlette (4/5), and cappuccino (5/5).
Tumblr media
Alcazar (5/5) with viatour guided tour(3/5 wasn't very informative).
Tumblr media
Lunch at Alcazar cafe (3/5) they had pastries and empanadas that were just okay.
Bought nuts at vendor stall near exit.
Cathedral rooftop guided tour (6/5 best tour of the trip - highly recommend!)
Tumblr media
Grocery store to buy Kikos :) and vendor stalls + grocery near apartment for candied nuts and really interesting cookies.
Dinner at El Pasiello (4/5). We ordered bull tail (5/5 tied for best entree of the trip), _, and whiskey tenderloin (3/5).
Flamenco at guitara club (4/5 it might be better at a different club).
Gelato at Helados La Abuela near the cathedral. We ordered Coco Bon that was recommended by the kind server (5/5) and dulce de leche (4/5), and chocolate (2/5) and mint (3/5).

Valley Swirl, 524 N La Brea Ave., Los Angeles (Fairfax), CA 90036
Tumblr media
Fro-yo girl here. On my recent visit to Cambridge Farms, the kosher market, in Valley Village (a neighborhood in Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley), I noticed that Valley Swirl’s space was vacant. All the equipment and signs had been removed.
Valley Swirl has their own space now and the new address is 524 N La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036. It’s in the Fairfax District, close to Pink’s Hot Dogs. The new space is very pink – the same pink they painted the old space.
Valley Swirl offers mix-in style ice cream and froyo, boba, milkshakes, waffles, acai bowls, smoothies, and hot drinks. The ice cream or frozen yogurt base is combined with add-ins and hand-cranked till everything is mixed together. Everything is RCC Kosher. Online ordering is available.
Bases: Dairy vanilla ice cream, Dairy chocolate ice cream, Vanilla froyo, Non-dairy vanilla, Non-dairy chocolate, Sugar-free vanilla, Sugar-free chocolate.
Add-ins: Fruit, nuts, cookies, sauces, cookie dough, cotton candy, sprinkles, etc.
Vanilla ice cream mixed with Lotus cookies ($7.50): They were out of the froyo base but I still enjoyed the creamy, thick, rich, dense vanilla ice cream mixed with Lotus cookies.
Get a reward card. Credit cards accepted.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

Afternoon Tea Granada - A Cake Named After a Pope
Sweet Treats in Granada
If you have a sweet tooth this is bound to interest you! In 1897 Ceferino Ysla Gonzalez set up his own cake shop in the Calle Real in Santa Fé, just 10 minutes from Granada. Ceferino was very devoted to the Virgin Mary. Just a few years before, Pope Pius IX (Pïo in Spanish – Nono – nine) had proclaimed the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. Because of this Ceferino decided to pay Pius homage by inventing a cake named after His Holiness.
Piononos Pastelerías Isla, Santa Fe, Granada
Each pionono is bite size, inspired by Ceferino's image of the Pope. Cilindrical in shape, somewhat plump (moistened sponge rolled in on itself), dressed like a Pope with a white cassock (a white paper case) crowned with pastry cream, sugared and toasted (to represent the Pope’s skullcap).
Just one of the enticing Pastelerías Isla in Granada
This imaginative creation has since become Granada’s most popular and international cake. Pasteleria Ysla celebrated it's 120th anniversary last year and is still on the same street in Santa Fe. For more sweet treats visit Cafetería Rey Fernando, founded in 1945 and located on the main square. Their tempting chocolate version of a Pionono is pictured below.
Pionono covered in chocolate made at Cafetería Rey Fernando
Santa Fe is the home of Piononos so there are several inviting choices of cake shops and cafes selling the yummy bites. In recent years, both Pastelería Isla and Cafetería Rey Fernando have opened shops in Granada itself. You'll find the array of different cakes, pastries, smoothies and ice creams hard to resist.
New look Piononos at Cafetería Rey Fernando
You can buy Piononos online to be sent almost anywhere in the world. Take a look at the online shops Pastelerias Isla and Cafetería Rey Fernando
Santa Fe is about 40 minutes from Restábal in the Lecrín Valley. Why not visit this historical town and try the Piononos. You'll probably want to take some home!

Voltron Headcanons: Lance
GROWING UP LATINO PART 1-
- Lance sometimes spends time paying Abuela’s bills over the phone because her poor English embarrasses her. Not a problem at all, especially because she almost always provides a hot meal when he comes over.
- One word: Telenovelas. Lance was flailing when Rosalinda regained her memories by hearing Fernando Jose singing in one of his concerts. The first song she ever heard him sing before they were married.
......And then lost his shit when she ran out of the concert and got hit by a car right after. “GOD DAMMIT!”
- “Lance! Saca la basura!”
“I know, I know... I am!!”
- The Many Adventures of Lance y la Chancla:
“IT’S NOT A JOKE! THOSE THINGS TURN CORNERS I SWEAR!!”
...And don’t forget cocotazos...or the belt.
- As much as his cousins tease him for getting stuck in Tio Pancho’s mango tree ONE TIME, Lance is more than capable of joining them up in the branches of their neighbors fruit trees to scope out the biggest, ripest ones. It’s a special occasion when they all come around after all. They always have lots of fun. Plus his mom’s smoothies afterward are always totally worth it.
- During the holidays Lance’s family gathers with lots of food and much celebration. They pretty much always start up with the parranda business after most people have eaten already, and it’s noisy and full of loud laughing and singing and dancing. Lance’s mom always wants to hear him singing and makes sure he doesn’t back out if it’s his turn. He’s actually very good and they cheer for him.
- Lance side-eyes the fact that his family is so much nicer to Keith and all of his friends than to him.
“You never let me eat in the comfy chair...!”  Rude....so rude.
-   Lance’s distant relatives maintain that he is so skinny. In fact most of his family have gotten into the habit of addressing him as “Flaco”. It’s become a nickname of sorts and he’s accustomed to it.
- Among his siblings, Lance is the baby whisperer. All of his cousins’ little kids flock to him when the family comes to visit, and he revels in the hero worship.
I tried guys

But what bothers more than the truth of the book is that truth’s justification. To Lin’s generation, which is to say to mine as well, transparency is the new sincerity; many of our peers maintain that it’s psychologically healthy, and artistic, to expose oneself entirely online. Anonymity was so 1990s—the Age of Fake Screen Names. Today, only utter exposure can set one free, while the only thing proscribed is regret. Ambitious, intelligent, without regret, Lin does have an acute sense for the ambiguous mood and the deadpannings of emotional truth, or what he perceives as emotional truth (though it’s closer to the millennial self-help movement known as Radical Honesty).
Here are a few of the many facts strangers can learn from reading Lin’s blogs and comments on blogs: His penis measures five inches when erect, and he last had sex in December 2009; he regularly blends smoothies and is obsessed with hamsters. Fearless as Lin may be, his openness actually brings about a negation of openness; when exposure itself becomes overexposed, the effect is ruined, and what was previously shocking merely bores. Lin’s willingness to elucidate this boredom and dramatize the banal may appeal to a bored and banalized readership, but the writing itself is anything but appealing. The depleted language of Lin’s depressed books is the same depleted language of Lin’s depression, evident online.
Total transparency will always resolve itself in reduced expression (short paragraphs, “sentagraphs,” short sentences), as subjects like boredom become objectified in prose. Instead of encountering the syntactically strange, or a project of genuine depersonalization or fracture, Lin’s readers are stroked by a continuous stream of neutral declaratives. If Lin retains this transparency there will literally be no other way he can write; his style, once electively autistic, will become a disability, the dictator of his thoughts (it would be impressive if Lin went all Fernando Pessoa on us and wrote heteronymously). Literature is made when a writer exploits different rhetoric in an attempt to manipulate a reader; Lin’s “literature” is the account of his manipulation of his girlfriend in a prose that is interchangeable with anything online written by the under thirty commentariat.
[...]
It’s Lin’s essential conservatism that has him writing books at all, as opposed to full-time bloggery. No revolutionary, he’s just another believer in purposeless “art” who also believes in advancing his career. One hopes he’ll either gain scruples and write a book not about himself or entirely lose scruples by transitioning into performance art or the more entertaining forms of branding. Kiddies, forgive the majuscules and punctuation, but Lin’s honesty deserves them, and deserves this repost: “I’m not sure what I’m talking about.”

Antigua 3.0
My Antigua Blog Series won't stop so far, because there is still soo much to tell you! This blog is dedicated to Antiguas Nightlife and where to eat!
Night Life:
Las Palmas
If you love to dance Salsa, or just want to practice your moves, that's your place to go! From Tuesday to Saturday there is mostly a free Salsa class at 8:30. After that the locals join, and a live Band plays till noone wants to dance anymore :)! t also has a great restaurant, I can totally recommend the garlic fries :D! I had the pleasure to perform a Bachata Show at this place with my teacher, which definitely was an unforgettable experience for me.
La Sala
I just enjoyed this place on Sundays, when there's Salsa night, on other days it's a normal Club. Sunday night is so famous in this bar, that even Salseros from Guatemala City come here every week to dance.
El Barrio
Translated it means "neighborhood" and that's exactly what it is. Inside el barrio you find a lot of different bars on two floors, with different theme nights every day. Of course I've been there mostly Mondays, when there's a free Salsa Class at Lava Terrace.
Antigua Brewing Company
I have been there just once, because there was a very nice Band having a concert, but I really enjoyed this evening, because the bar is very nice and comfortable. Apparently the beer is really good, but I can't comment on that :)
Where to eat:
Kabuki
Realy good and affordable Asian food in Antigua :)! It's very central, they don't add taxes, they just sometimes are a bit slow with service.
Toku baru
This place offers mostly Indonesian food, which is super cheap and the portions are huge! The serve every food with three amazing sauces (the garlic sauce is heaven!) and I'm in love with their sweet potatoe fries..
Miso
It's a Korean restaurant, very close to the market in Antigua. The meals are around 10$, but it's definitely worth the money :) i have been there together with some salsa friends, and enjoyed it a lot!
Santa Rosa Burger Club
Definitly my favorite restaurant in whole Antigua! It's located at 1st Calle Oriente, which was very close to the home of my hostfamily. Every Monday and Friday they offer burgers for just 35Quetzales (4,50$) and the quality is amazing! I believe Wednesday is quesadilla day and on Thursday the chicken wings are pretty cheap.
Sobremesa
It's no secret, that I'm an Ice cream addict, which is why I frequently visited this place! Sobremesa is a restaurant, but right around the corner they have a ice cream specialized extra shop. They offer very unique flavors, like avocado-bacon! Try it out, it's amazing :D!
Street food!
Definitely the cheapest option, to get food in whole Central America! In Antigua you will mostly get some tacos (not what you think. These are rolls with potatoe cream inside), tostadas (a very big round nacho with guacamole, frijoles, tomatoes etc on top) or filled sandwiches.. I always tried to avoid buying meat on the street, because you never know where they buy it and how old it is
Cafés:
Café Bohéme
This one is my absolute favorite Café ever! It's very tiny, owned by a French lady, and offers amazing food and drinks! I mostly had some tarte and a smoothie and spent here hours writing posts for the blog.
Bella Vista
Translated it means "beautiful view" which is so true! On the terrace of Bella Vista, you are on top of Antigua and it's definitely a great place to take some good Fotos of Volcan agua. We also went there in semana santa, to have a great view of the processions on the street.
Fernandos
This Café is very close to the spanish school I studied at and mostly full with people having Spanish lessons. Fernandos produces their own chocolate, which is amazing! I don't even want to know how much money I spent here.. I also had breakfast once, which is very recomendable, and it's most famous for their coffee. Normally I really don't like coffee, but at Fernando's even I had some cups I enjoyed.
Doña Luisa
This shop is famous for its banana bread, and was our Sunday brunch spot! Super cheap but incredibly tasty!
