the arrangement
Rowan/Lorcan/Fenrys x Reader
Summary: “You’ll take what I give you.” with Rowan, Lorcan, and Fenrys
Warnings: degradation, hint of a size kink?, light d/s dynamics, foursome, small description of blood, Rowan’s biting kink of course, cockwarming, oral (m!receiving), brief m/m, slight objectification
A/N: this is filth, that’s it. for this
Fenrys sat in an armchair across the room, his predatory gaze fixed on you.
Rowan’s canine’s were grazing against your neck, tongue flicking over your pulse point.
Lorcan’s hands covered your ribcage, his body firm behind you, his massive frame covering you enough your shadow didn’t reflect on the wall.
“You’ll take what I give you,” his lips grazed your ear, “won’t you love?”
“What we give you,” Fenrys corrected.
“You’re not giving me anything right now,” you teased him.
Lorcan roughly pinched your nipples between two fingers, whimpers falling from your lips, the mixture of pain and pleasure felt directly in your core, now starting to throb - nearly begging to be filled.
“Fuck,” you breathed. Lorcan’s hand covered your mouth, forcing you to breathe through your nose, just as Rowan bit down on your shoulder, tongue running along the two small wounds, pinpoint of plain and pleasure.
“You’ll be good and quiet, won’t you?” Rowan said as he withdrew, your blood staining his bottom lip, his tongue darting out to clean the drops, laughing at your muffled assent.
“Get over here,” he called to Fenrys without looking at him. The other male snorted, but you saw him rise.
Lorcan’s hand moved and you took in a deep breath, he still held you steady but Rowan had cleared the path - for Fenrys to head right to you. The newest addition to the arrangement you all enjoyed. You nearly stumbled as Lorcan finally released you, Fenrys’s arms steadying you, twisting you so your back faced him - so you faced the other two males.
“Go on,” Rowan snapped - not at you. Fenrys’s edged laugh echoed in your ear as his fingers began undoing the laces of your dress with ease. Slowly, so damn slowly - to irritate the others, you figured, he lowered the fabric, revealing your bare skin inch by inch.
“Beautiful,” he pressed a kiss to the side of your neck.
“She’s not a delicate flower,” Lorcan snorted. “She’s a little slut, isn’t she?” he asked Rowan, completely ignoring you. Your cheeks reddened but arousal grew at the way they spoke of you.
“The perfect little toy,” Rowan agreed.
“Are you a good little toy?” Fenrys whispered. A whimper left your parted lips, your head fell back, resting against his chest. He chuckled, dropping the rest of the fabric, one hand trailing down the valley of your breasts pressing against your stomach to draw you closer to him. His touch was light, gentle even, but just as electric as the others.
He bent one knee, drawing your thigh over it - baring you to them. Showing you off like a good little toy. Two fingers parted your folds, revealing the arousal dripping from you, already coating your inner thighs.
“I think I want a taste,” he murmured.
“Take it,” the two words were filled with your desperation, “please,” you added as an afterthought. It wasn’t the taste you wanted, but hearing him clean your arousal from his fingers was almost as good.
-
Fenrys had his back to the headboards, your core gripping his cock, hands holding you in place, not letting you move although you desperately wanted to. Instead, you were watching the show in front of you. Lorcan said you’d take what they’d give you tonight, and apparently that was pure torture, watching, waiting, teasing, but nothing to send you into the oblivion of pleasure you desperately craved.
Lorcan was on his knees, Rowan’s hands gripping his hair, but you who had the other at their mercy. Just as you were finally enthralled, as you knew Rowan was about to launch past that edge, Fenrys lifted you off him.
You whimpered at the emptiness, but he was already turning you around, pushing you back to rest on your knees between his thighs, eyes drawn to your arousal covering his cock. Your tongue darted out to lick your bottom lip, eager to taste the two of you mixed together.
“Go on,” you’d missed Rowan sneaking up behind you, but his hand already gripped your hair. “Tap twice if it’s too much,” he reminded you softly - the only softness you’d get tonight - before shoving you down, mouth opening to take Fenrys, to wrap your lips around him, sucking on his tip, tongue circling around him.
Rowan snorted behind you. “You can do better than that.”
A rough hand slapped your ass, Lorcan - Gods you needed to work on your awareness, launching you forward, taking Fenrys further, further, until he hit the back of your throat.
Practice kept your gag reflex from activating, letting you take him as far as you could. Not very far with this angle. Rowan sensed it, what you wanted, arms looping under your shoulders, dragging you so your head hung off the side of the bed.
“Take it or I will,” you heard Lorcan.

“Love, would you please let me join you in this meeting?” you pleaded, tugging Manon closer by her hands, giving her your best doe eyes as you batted your lashes at her.
With a wry smirk, Manon brought a hand to your hair, running her fingers through as she moved to cup your cheek. “Why would you want to go? I don’t even want to go. It’ll be boring political talk-“ she sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Gods, it’s stressing me out just thinking about it.”
Pulling her hand away from her face, you smiled brightly, rocking back and forth on your heels in eagerness. “Exactly! But I can be there to make it less terrible. And I’m happy to go wherever you go,” you murmured, twining your fingers with hers as you leaned close, lips almost brushing.
“That does make for a tempting offer,” she murmured, golden eyes shimmering as she leaned forward, lips brushing against yours tenderly.
You followed Manon down the hall of the castle towards the room where the meeting was being held, rushing forward to take her hand in yours, rubbing your thumb against her skin in comfort. The beautiful witch maintained a stern expression, but you felt her muscles relax under your touch as the two of you entered the room.
Four heads turned towards you, all of them standing around the table. Each of them wore curious expressions, and you watched as the striking blonde’s turquoise eyes flicked down to your joined hands, an amused smile on her full lips. Her eyes slid to Manon, grin broadening into something mischievous.
“Manon,” she purred. “I don’t believe I’ve met your friend.” Manon sighed, rolling her eyes as she gestured towards the people around you.
First indicating towards the blonde, Manon drawled, “this is Aelin, her husband, Rowan,” and turning towards the two men next to them, she continued, “and this is Dorian and Fenrys.”
Dorian reached out a hand towards you, but you ignored it as you charged at him, wrapping your arms around the man in a warm hug. “I’ve heard so much about all of you! It’s so lovely to finally meet you!” you gushed, hugging each of them, oblivious to their shock and amusement.
“Alright, let’s get this over with,” Manon interrupted, prompting everyone to take their seats. Pulling out her seat, you instinctively took a spot on her lap, curling your legs up as you wrapped your arms around her neck.
Resting your head against her chest, you listened quietly as the Erilean rulers discussed politics and trade. You couldn’t help your proud smile as Manon spoke, the sheer authority she exuded. Absentmindedly, you braided her long white hair, admiring her beauty and the soothing timber of her voice as she spoke.
You’d nearly drifted off to sleep when something bumped against your foot, rousing you from your half-wake state. Looking down, you saw a dog with golden fur and caramel eyes staring up at you.
“Oh, aren’t you beautiful!” you cooed, jumping to the floor as you petted the pup, giggling as she licked your face.
“That’s Fleetfoot,” Aelin spoke, a fond smile on her features as she watched the dog lean its head against your shoulder, nudging you in request for more scratches.
“Fleetfoot, what a sweetheart,” you murmured, letting the dog rest her head in your lap as you continued showing her love.
“She doesn’t usually take to strangers so quickly,” Rowan noted, Aelin nodding in agreement.
“It seems like you have a talent for earning affection from... those less inclined to affection,” Fenrys teased, throwing you a wink as Manon glared at him.
“I’ve had enough of all of you for tonight,” Manon grumbled, standing up from her seat as she reached for your hand. You took hold of hers, leaning into the witch’s side as you bid the others a good night.
“Your friends are so lovely, Manon! We should get a dog,” you noted, practically skipping down the hall back towards your shared bedroom.
“They are not my friends. And we already have Abraxos,” Manon retorted.
You scoffed, rolling your eyes as you flashed her a playful grin. “Sure, those aren’t your friends,” you said in a sarcastic tone. “I had a wonderful time. Thank you for letting me join you,” you continued, eyes turning soft as you became more serious.
Manon stopped, pulling you to her as her hands threaded in your hair. “Thank you, for being there for me. I love you,” she whispered, leaning down as she began peppering kissed along your jaw, down your neck.
A whimper escaped you, the need to have her alone suddenly the only thing on your mind. Breathlessly, you tugged her away only to pull her along with you down the hall. “Let’s go back to the room and I’ll show you just how much I love you, too.”

---------------------------------------------------------—
You had only met Fenrys officially a few weeks after your eighteenth birthday. You had heard stories of the glamorous white wolf all through your childhood and had occasionally snuck glances through half closed doorways with your siblings when you were supposed to be in bed. But he was rarely in your house for long and your overly protective father was determined to keep you all away from any business surround politics or war until you were at least eighteen.
You hadn’t expected it when you first met him, no warning from your parents when he arrived one night, bloodied up and leaning heavily on your doorframe – eyes half closed.
You panicked, standing in your nightgown as you ushered the handsome man in and into a kitchen seat, he watched silently as you rushed around on bare feet gathering warmed water and wash cloths to clean him up with. Thankfully, none of his cuts were major so you simply bandaged them in silence, barely looking up from your job until when you finished tying of the last one and moved to step away he stopped you with a gentle hand on your arm.
“What’s your name pretty?” he asked, voice deep and low as he watched your eyes widen – shyness clouding your features as you mumbled it softly under your breath.
“(Y/n).” he rolled your name around his mouth, eyes trailing up and down you slowly as your cheeks burned at how little you were wearing in front of a complete stranger, your nipples catching his attention for a split second. They had hardened in the cold room, and he fought to push a breath out, forcing his eyes to meet yours again. “Well, thank you (y/n).”
After his words you scurried off to your bedroom an aching between your legs as you hid under your covers. You couldn’t help yourself but grind against your pillow that night, face hidden in shame as you thought of his handsome face and how his eyes had lingered on your thinly veiled body.
The next time you saw him you kept more of your dignity, fully dressed in a pale pink gown as you attended the first ball you were allowed to go to – no longer hiding behind the door and watching as the beautiful adults roamed around the room. Though you might as well off, as you felt incredibly out of place – your elder siblings talking to people with familiarity as you stumbled through small talk and clung to the few people you knew well.
You met Fenrys gaze from across the room and instantly felt a white-hot rush of shame fill you as his gaze once again trailed, suddenly feeling silly in your pink dress. But he excuse himself from his conversation anyway and moved to talk to you, unable to bear the sight of such a pretty girl standing afraid and alone.
“So I’m going to take a chance and guess your favourite colour is pink, given we’ve met twice now and it’s all I’ve seen you in.” you laughed at his comment, tucking your hair behind your ear.
“I guess you’ve got me,” you retorted, and he gasped, a hand on his chest.
“She speaks!” he exclaimed, clapping his hands, “I was worried I’d scared you off when our first introduction was you keeping me from bleeding out.”
“Oh,” you waved your hand dismissively, “I didn’t do much you were fine.”
“No way darling, you saved my life. I’ll have to find a way to pay you back some day.” He winked and you felt your toes curl in your shoes as you stared up at him with a shy smile. Unbeknownst to you however, your eldest sister has sidled up next to you and as she saw your shy disposition she leapt at the chance.
“You need to pay her back?” she asked, and you whipped your head to face her – your eyes widening at her mischievous facial expression. “We’ve been trying to find her a suitable trainer because she gets too embarrassed around anyone whose tried.”
Fenrys eyes lit up, “Is that so?”
“And you’re one of the best warriors in the world, or so mum tells us,” She egged him on, and he winked at you again.
“Well we all know that’s true, you okay with this sweetheart?” You squeaked out a yes and he grinned wolfishly, “Perfect, meet at eight tomorrow then?”
“Eight am?” you pouted, and he laughed, a large hand moving to squeeze your chin.
“It’s a good habit to get into,” he said as he walked away, leaving you hot in the face and core as you watched him retreat.
--
You had been training together for a month and a half and you were slowly losing your mind. He had begun staying more permanently at your family home, and you were suddenly eating breakfast together and walking to buy a loaf of bread or bouquet of flowers with him when he errands to run and wanted company.
In Fenrys mind he couldn’t be any clearer in his advances. He was careful around your parents of course, not sure how his close friends would feel about the attraction he harboured for their young daughter. But when he placed his hand on your lower back and leaned down to whisper a crude joke in your ear – watching as you crumbled beneath his hand, eyes widening as you giggled cutely.
Your shyness had also started to melt away around him as you held conversations and eye contact with him. But along with that your fantasies had also started running rampant, nights spent grinding against your hand or pillow as you muffled your cries thinking of the older man you were so infatuated with.
The morning everything changed was right after regular a night of dreams, your face hot as you pictured him above you – strong arms holding himself up as he ground into your pussy, hot breaths in your ear with every pant. You imagined him calling you His pretty princess, His good girl. And you could feel your need for him becoming more than your need to breathe with every daydream.
Fenrys had decided on hand-to-hand sparring for that morning, wanting you to always be prepared even if you didn’t have any weapons on you at the time. You had been making steady process and during one of your fights you had somehow gained the upper hand, flipping him onto the floor and kneeling with your forearm on his throat – pressing just hard enough to show your victory. His dark eyes watched you from where you were perched on his chest, a knee over his heart as you smiled down at him, sweaty, breathless, and looking like his walking fantasy on legs. Or, on knees he supposed.
He held eye-contact, not speaking as he watched you come out of your shell before him – the knee that perched on his chest sliding off until you sat straddling his chest, releasing your arm from his throat. Neither of you were making any effort to move from the position you found yourselves in – Fenrys nostrils flaring as he smelt your obvious attraction, but when you tried to move and hide away he kept you attached to him with a firm hand on your hip.
“You okay there princess?” he asked, voice low and deep as you let out a muffled whimper. The sound made him grip your hip even tighter until you were sure he might leave bruises.
He raised his eyebrows and you nodded quickly, making him chuckle. “You look so pretty like this, just sat exactly where you should be.”
“Fenrys…” your voice trailed off at his insinuation.
He sat up, holding you closer as his voice dropped an octave, “What? You don’t think I’ve heard you,” his face dropped down to your neck, “Smelt you. Sat all pretty up in your bed, what do you think about huh?”
Your face burned with embarrassment, and you shook your head – not meeting his eyes.
“C’mon sweetheart. I already know it’s nothing to be embarrassed about, I could even let you in on a little secret.” You looked at him, every muscle tensing as he moved closer – pushing you directly onto his crotch were you felt a prominent hardness.
“That hardly feels little,” you mumbled, and he laughed, canines bared as you watched him intently. He went to reply but you heard an obvious cough before you could, whipping your head around to see your uncle Aedion standing by the door with his arms crossed and eyebrows raised at your behaviour.
You scrambled out of Fenrys lap and straightened up, looking sheepish as you stumbled around an explanation of your training with Fenrys. He gave you a thin-lipped smile before suggesting your older brother was looking for you, you took the hint and ran off, looking back at Fenrys who was glaring down your uncle just before rushing out the door.
You hid in your room all day, too ashamed to face Fenrys who had seen you at your most vulnerable now. You snuck downstairs to grab food for your room in between mealtimes and feigned sickness when your mum came looking for you – deciding to spend your day soaking in Epsom salts and reading.
But you also knew you could only avoid Fenrys for so long, so when you heard a knocking on your door as you changed into your nightgown – the same one you had been wearing that first morning – you froze. You didn’t reply, instead quietly walking to your bed in order to pretend to be asleep, but before you could pull the covers up to your chin that deep voice that plagued your dreams.
“I can hear you moving in there princess,” he spoke, “Let me in.”
You paused, an internal battle going on in your head, debating whether you could even stand from the nerves filling your body. You felt bad for the man standing behind the door though so you spoke before you could second guess myself, “It’s unlocked.”
Fenrys smiled behind the door, resting his forehead against it for a second before trying the handle and finding the door opening. He closed it behind himself as he entered your room, bathed in candlelight with you – cross legged in the middle of your bed, surrounded by soft blankets and cushions. He thought you looked like a dream.
“Hi,” you squeaked out, in awe of the tall man leaning against your bedroom door.
“Hey sweetie,” he started walking towards you, “We never got to finish talking earlier.”
He perched on the side of your bed and reached a hand towards your face, cupping your jaw. You smiled softly at him and laughed, “Wasn’t much talking anyway.”
“Aha I suppose it wasn’t” he moved his hand, trailing down your neck and pausing on your collarbone, his thumb massaging your shoulder, “I still want to continue however.”
You blinked at him, scooting closer as he smiled at you, grabbing onto your waist to pull you back into his lap, “I need to know you want this with words before we do anything dear, because I’ve been thinking of you since we met, and I don’t want to risk losing you because we move too fast.”
“I want it!” you spoke quickly, heat spreading through your chest and face, “I mean, I like you too.”
He smiled at you, “Okay princess, I’m all yours now. But I have a couple questions first.”
“Okay,” you said as he leaned forward to press a tentative kiss to your neck, testing the waters.
“Are you a virgin sweetie?” he asked, and you shook your head making him look up, a quizzical expression on his face.
“You let someone else pop your cherry huh?” he asked, and you shoved his chest lightly, “Well, it doesn’t matter now anyway since I’m going to be the only one touching you after tonight.”
“Yeah?” you asked, insecurity clouding your features and he pulled your face close to his – resting his forehead against your own.
“I’m in for the long-haul honey, I don’t just want your body you know.” He said and you smiled, wider than you had in a while. “Can I kiss you?”
You nodded and he moved in, dominating your mouth quickly with his rough kisses as he gripped the back of your head with one hand and your waist with the other. He pulled you as close in as he could as you gripped his shoulders, you may not be a virgin, but you were certainly inexperienced compared to the man who was centuries older than you.
He guided you onto your back on the mattress, your legs spread as the wound themselves around his thighs. His hands started wandering slightly as you kissed, one smoothing over your stomach as he felt the silky material of your nightgown.
“Fuck darling, do you have any idea how crazy this drove me when you cleaned me up that night? Wanted to bend you over the table and take you at once.” You whined, trailing your teeth over his neck before latching onto the juncture between his neck and shoulder. “You probably would’ve let me as well, looking at me with those innocent doe eyes that were just begging for me to fuck you.”
“Wanted it so badly,” you admitted.
“What did you want? No need to be shy around me baby girl,” he moved down your body, resting his face on your stomach and gazing up at you.
“Wanted you to fuck me,” you said, voice quiet and shy.
“Good girl,” he praised, “And what do you want me to do now?”
He trailed a hand under your nightgown, tugging on the band of your underwear slightly until you lifted your hips – allowing him to pull off the lacy pink fabric. He smiled at them in his hand and pocketed them as you giggled, looking away.
“You’re gross,” you whined, and he tutted.
“Don’t avoid the question.”
“I want you to fuck me,” you repeated quietly, and he shook his head, a disappointed look on his face making you worry.
“Before that, maybe while I’m down here?” he egged you on and you felt your pussy clench as you realised what he meant.
“Isn’t that… dirty?” you asked, nervous.
Fenrys frowned and kissed below your belly button as he pulled your nightgown up. “Not at all baby, there’s plenty of dirty things I want to do to you but that’s not one of them.”
“Okay, if you’re sure,” Fenrys eyes lit up.
“Oh baby I’m sure, I’ve been dreaming about this.” His words the only warning you received before he dived headfirst into your pussy.
He licked a long stripe from your tight hole to your clit, sucking there for a few seconds but not staying too long as he became acquainted with you. His hands started exploring too as your own tangled themselves in the long golden locks he had piled into a rough bun on top of his head. You tugged and pulled at them as he hoisted your legs over his shoulders and pushed his tongue inside of you, his nose nudging your clit with every thrust.
You felt your climax build embarrassingly quickly with the talent of the man between your thighs and you tried to tug his hair in warning, legs shaking as you felt pressure build in your lower abdomen.
“Fenrys,” you managed to moan out, “I’m going to cum if you don’t stop that.”
You felt his smirk against your cunt as he pulled away just enough to slide a finger into you, “And why would that make me stop?”
His lips attached viciously to your clit as you cried out, his finger rubbing against the spongey spot that always made you see stars until your pretty legs clamped around his head and you cried out his name, muffling yourself with your hand to avoid waking up your parents. The muffled cries were music to Fenrys ears, but he instantly started planning where he could take you that would allow you to scream as loudly as you wanted.
As you came down he crawled up to meet you, kissing you so you could taste some of the sweetness on his tongue. You fought to keep up between panting breaths but had to pull away – gazing up at him with unbridled love as you stroked your thumbs down the twin scars on his face.
“You taste so sweet princess,” he praised, watching with a smile as you melted under the words. “Later, I’m going to eat you out until you have no feeling in your legs, but right now I need to fuck you.”
“That sounds like a good plan,” you giggled, and he playfully bit down on your neck before sitting up and pulling his clothes off. You followed suit, pulling your nightgown over your head, and sheepishly covering yourself until he – dressed in nothing but his boxers – grabbed your hands and pulled them over your head.
You squeaked as he admired your naked body openly, his free hand trailing down the curve of your waist before he dove into your breasts, biting roughly on your nipple and grinning when you squeaked.
“Fenrys!” you squealed batting him away, but he looked up at you with dark eyes.
“I can’t believe you’ve been hiding this away from me,” he growled low under his breath, “All mine now at least. No one else is ever going to get to see you like this.”
You felt your arousal rear its head once again at his possessiveness as he gripped your waist and pulled you, so you were completely beneath him. His large frame covered your own and you reached a hand – which now appeared dwarfed next to him – to smooth over his chest, marvelling at the bronze skin that covered extensive muscle and tone.
You dared to let a hand venture downwards while he was distracted groping your chest and swearing lowly under his breath. You cupped his impressive bulge and felt your eyes practically bug out as you realised just how large he was, palming him lightly.
You looked up and met his gaze, “Can I?”
“Another night sweet girl,” you pouted, and he kissed it away, whispering against your lips, “right now, I need to fuck you, or I might explode.”
“That’s fine then I guess,” you were still pouting, but he laughed.
“Trust me, I’ll make it far more than fine.” He let you push his underwear down, his hard length bobbing up and hitting his toned stomach as you gulped slightly. It appeared even bigger now you were seeing it instead of just feeling it and Fenrys sensed your worry.
“Just focus on me darling,” he smiled, “I’ll take care of you, we can go slow okay?”
He frowned when you shook your head at him, “Don’t want you to go slow,” you whispered, and he tilted his head.
“I don’t want to hurt you,” he said, his control hanging on by a thread as you spread your legs further, inviting him into the slice of heaven between your thighs, your hole glistening and begging to be filled. “I’ll split you in half, you’re only little compared.”
“I want you to,” you reached to guide him to your hole, “I want you to split me in half.”
He grinned at you, reaching down for a kiss before he started pushing in. Your nails scarped down his back as he entered you, breathy moans releasing as you bit down on his neck to avoid getting too loud.
“Want me to split you in half huh?” he asked, “Want me to fill you up to? Mark you up? Stake my claim, make sure everybody knows you’re mine now?”
You whined in reply as he started thrusting, hips bruising your own every time he bottomed out with an obscene wet noise from your arousal.
“Oh, you like that?” he was a smug as a cat, “Want me to make you a mummy? Fill you up and keep you home, all for me to have whenever I like.”
He felt you clench around him and grinned, “Make a wife out of you, get you down the aisle and all.”
You mewled underneath him before grinning, “Maybe buy me a drink first.”
He slapped your ass and grinned at you, “I guess I could do that.”
His thrusts resumed their roughness as he muttered praise under his breath, just how you had imagined in your dreams, feel so good around me sweetness, so tight. My perfect girl likes it when I fuck her rough huh? So fucked out you can’t even speak, just a dumb baby for me to use now.
You felt you second orgasm of the night rise in you and pulled Fenrys in for a rough, dirty kiss, your tongue invading his mouth as you came undone – gripping him impossibly tight. But instead of stopping he simply kept fucking you through your orgasm, pushing you into another until he was satisfied.
His thrusts didn’t cease regardless of the blood you were probably drawing on the back of his shoulder, regardless of your cries of overstimulation into his hungry mouth. He reached one hand to grasp your throat, willing your mouth open with his thumb and spitting into it, watching you with a smile.
“Now that’s my dirty girl, swallow for me.” You obeyed his order, with a breathless smile. He watched, groaning as he approached his own release, thrusts becoming sloppy as he pushed you to your fourth orgasm of the night with his own.
“You going to let me fill you up baby?” he asked, and you nodded quickly, “Beg.” He commanded.
“Please, please Fenrys want it so bad. Need to feel you, need to, need it more than oxygen,” your voice was unrecognisable to your own ears. “Need you to make me cum and fill me up, make me all yours.”
That pushed him over the edge as he bottomed out within you with a groan, his thumb going to circle your clit – instantly sending you following over the edge as you muffled your moans in each other’s necks.
You stayed in that position what could’ve been minutes or days until Fenrys pulled out as you whined feeling empty minus his seed trickling out of your abused hole. He disappeared before you for a couple seconds, returning with a clean shirt and warm wash cloth which he used to clean you up. He then pulled on his own underwear and the shirt over your head before pulling you safe and warm into his strong arms.
“Wait, what if mum or dad come in?” you asked, panic rising despite the sheer comfort you felt in his arms.
“Oh they already know,” he said making you whip your head up, “What did you think Aedion just wanted a friendly chat?”
“I just thought he’d tell you to back off,” you muttered, and he reached to stroke your hair back off your face.
“Well he did, so I went straight to your mother, told her I loved you and asked for her blessing,” you laughed, amazed at his planning.
“My mother before my father?” you asked, “not very traditional.”
“Have you met your mum, if I had gone to anyone before her she’d kill me,” you laughed loudly again, burying yourself in his chest.
“I guess you’re right there.” You conceded, sleep slurring your words as you felt Fenrys press a kiss to your head.
“Sleep, we’ll discuss it more in the morning.” He muttered and you smiled, content in his arms.

✨Fenrys x Reader✨
Ask submitted by anonymous: A Fenrys and reader imagine where he finds his mate and doesn't wanna leave her alone because he's very excited to have a mate. She is like the female version of Azriel and it has to be super fluffy.
Summary: Fenrys is feeling lonely and out of the blue, he finds a girl he decides to follow and finds out that she's his mate.
Ref: Y/n - your name
H/c - your hair colour
Artwork: @morgana0anagrom
Forever with you
Tumblr media
Fenrys' Pov:
Fenrys was sitting on the tallest building he could find. He let out a deep sigh. It was at times like these that he wished he could freeze his heart numb. He was terribly missing his brother. He missed his silent yet loving company of his brother. If he was here- That's the point Fenrys, he's not. Rebuking himself, he looked up at the blue morning sky. His heart warred with itself. '
This is not Connall would've wanted. He would have told Fenrys to get his head straight and feel happy on their success, to not focus on the past. His stupid gentle minded brother. He squeezed his eyes together and willed back his tears. Now's not the time. He had a hell lot to do and yet here he was, balking around. He pressed his palms to his eyes and tried to calm his breathing. I hope you're seeing my agony, you ass. For leaving me hanging in this world alone.
He let out a shaky sigh and removed his hands from his face. Okay. Time to get back to the castle. But something made him look down at the bustling street down. It was crowded and filled with vendors and merchants alike, buzzing with energy. His sharp eyes could even make out the delicate detail on the hand woven basket, a vendor was selling. Annoyed at himself for being distracted, he turned back to the terrace. But a tug made him look back down again. Observe.
Y/N's Pov:
She was currently being pulled by her hand in the throng of people and she hated it. "Where are you taking me?", She had to raise her voice to make it heard over the crowd. But it was left unanswered by her friend. "Oh I can't reveal it to you yet! But it's gonna be a-mazing!" She shouted. Y/n mentally sighed as she let herself be pushed and pulled. Like she has been all her life. She silenced the rogue voice in her head and focused on the back of her friend's head. That's how it always was. The voice talking to her and keeping her company when she was lonely or anxious. The latter being her current feeling. She shook her head to herself.
Finally, her friend pulled her to a stop before a big clothes shop. She stared at her friend blankly.
She grinned. "Remember when I said I'm getting you a spidersilk dress for your birthday?" Y/n raised her eyebrow. "Yes but the there are no more of them since Queen Aelin slayed Maeve" Her friend's grin became wider. "Correct. This specific place has somehow learned to recreate the silk through explicit magic and knowledge by the cloth designers" She looked at the shop with a calculating gaze. "I see" Her friend clapped her hands excitedly. "I commissioned it for you! This is going be awesome!" She looked at Y/n expectantly. She willed a sparkle to her eyes and smiled at her friend. "You didn't have to do that for me" She shook her head. "It's really nothing. That's what friends do for each other. Now come on and let's check how those silks are coming"
Her friend proceeded to pull her into the shop and she complied, lips upturning at the other girl's enthusiasm.
Fenrys' Pov:
He still didn't know what he was looking for. But he kept searching for that invisible tug again. His eyes fell on a pair of females heading towards a store. The first girl appeared to be pulling along another girl by her hand. He looked more closely. The second female was beautiful, in a picturesque sort of way. Her pretty H/C hair swayed in the wind, catching everyone's attention but she seemed oblivious to it. He watched both of them enter the shop.
A tug at his heart again. What was that? He wasn't sure, but he wanted to find out. He jumped down from the building in a smooth motion to the ground. A few people looked up in surprise but mostly went on with their work. He entered the shop he saw earlier, in hopes of finding that beautiful brooding girl.
Y/N's Pov:
Her friend showed her the dresses they were making and they were especially gorgeous. They didn't get to try it on though. It was only halfway done. But they did look at other dresses and jewels. Her bubbly friend was very excited to be there and kept gushing about this and that. Y/N was silent but content to be in her constant chatter. For once she didn't retreat back into herself where the voice kept her company.
They were still looking at some of the designs when the shop doorbell tinkled. She didn't bother turning to see but her friend giggled. "Ooh look at that, he's really handsome" One corner of her lips turned up amusement as she looked towards the entrance. 'Handsome' was an understatement.
He was freakishly attractive with his bronze skin tone, onyx eyes and high cheekbones. Half of his golden hair was tied up in a simple knot which left his sharp jaw in her focus. His body was in par with his features, muscles rippling under the shirt he was wearing.
Wow.
She blinked when she realized she was staring at the stranger and hastily went back to looking at the designs. She couldn't help the light blush on her face as she fiddled with the sketch. She had never felt this enamored by anyone. Even stranger, she could feel his presence behind her, as if it was calling to her.
"Did you see what I saw?", Her friend whispered, smirking.
"Hush"
An unfamiliar tug startled her, making her drop the papers. She felt clear somehow. Like...like something had fallen into place, claiming the constant emptiness in her mind as its own. Her heart sped. What was it? Did the stranger do something? She turned around abruptly only to find the him with the same expression as her. Shocked, her mind answered. She was too aware of the male to even shut it down.
Her friend looked worriedly at her. "Y/n?" That seemed to bring him back. He blinked once before whispering. "Y/n" She inhaled shakily. "You're my mate"

Fenrys X Reader Pt 2!!
My heart pounded as I sat in my mother's study, my newly found mate beside me, as we waited for my parents. My shoulders were caved in and I had never felt so terrified in my life, I was only seventeen and I had already found my mate? It felt amazing to feel this much love and feel loved, but at the same time, it scared me.
"Don't worry," Fentrys said from beside me, his hair braided down his back, "In the end, it doesn't matter what they say, they can't stop us from being together,"
He squeezed my hand and I squeezed back in a silent thanks. I picked up on footsteps coming down the hall and dropped his hand just as the door opened and two concerned-looking parents walking in.
"What's going on?" My father demanded immediately, "Is something wrong?"
"No," I replied, my voice a little shaky, "I- we just... uh, well Fenrys and I..."
"We're mates," His strong voice said from beside me, "We just found out his morning and thought you two should know,"
I could feel all his emotions going down that line of steel that tied us together, worry, happiness, excitement, concern, and my own heart echoed them.
We'll be okay, kid
It felt weird to hear someone else's voice inside of my head, but it wasn't a voice either, more like a thought that he planted there for me to see. I felt him sand a soft caress down the line, and I knew that he would be a completely new person. This wasn't the same Fenrys, this one was raw and unflinching, but also soft and loving. I knew he would protect me, as I would protect him.
"Oh," My mothers lips pursed for a second as she examined both of us, then looked at me. "Were you... gay before?"
"Yes," I said, my voice steadier.
"Thank you," dad smiled, "I' m glad you guys told us, and we're both happy you found each other,"
I felt a weight lift off my chest as I looked at my new purpose in life and smiled softly, "Yeah, thanks,"
"You know what," Mum grinned, "We should have a party, in celebration of you both,"
My father wrapped an arm around her shoulders and kissed her on the head, "Yeah, that sounds good, what do you guys think?"
I looked to Fenrys, and he nodded, "Hell yeah," he winked, "Gotta let everyone know that you're off-limits now, right?"
I chuckled, "Same goes for you, puppy-dog,"
He seemed kind of flustered at the name, but reached out and laced out fingers together.
"Alright, alright," My dad groaned, "Just cause we're okay with you guys doesn't mean we want you being all mushy-gushy around us, you bother have private rooms for a reason,"
My mate smirked, "Why you're right, we do both have bedrooms," he stood, pulling me to my feet as well, "Let us go make use of that privacy shall we?"
"Wait! NO, I AM NOT OK WITH THAT!" I heard my dad yelling down the hall and my mother chuckling.
Yeah... so maybe the meeting wouldn't be too bad.

Fenrys x reader
You first meet Fenrys when your interviewing to become the new princess’s (rowaelins child) tutor.
You only see him for a brief second.
Don’t even talk to each other but your intrigued by the mysterious White Wolf of Doranelle.
You don’t see him for 3 months that is until you get the job.
You move into the castle only 2 rooms away from the princess which also happens to be only down the hall from Fenrys’s room.
At first you only see him in passing and you only exchange polite hellos.
That is until he walks in on you training one day.
You had been working there for nearly 6 years now.
You don’t hear him walk in and don’t realize he’s watching you until you finish and hear a clap from the doorway.
You turn around and Fenrys is leaning against the doorway.
“Impressive”
You just shrug your shoulders.
He gives you some notes on your technique and you take it all on board.
From then on the two of ye train together once a week.
These weekly training sessions slowly turn into daily training sessions.
The two of ye quickly start becoming close friend.
Soon enough it’s strange to see the two of ye apart.
Although the two of you are thick as thieves you are both extremely competitive.
Everything becomes a competition.
like EVERYTHING.
One time when ye were fighting (training) it went on for 4 hours because neither of ye would stand to let the other win.
Soon enough you start to see Fenrys differently.
In training you are getting distracted every time he comes close.
Or by how his body looks.
Soon enough you miss every moment he’s not there beside you.
Even when your with the princess (who is now 14)
When Aelin asks Fenrys to travel to another kingdom to deliver a message his 3 weeks trip turns into 8 months.
Every day he’s gone and doesn’t contact you grow more and more anxious.
When you ask Aelin what happens she just tells you that he can handle himself.
Although Aelin gets worried as well and sends Lorcan and Aedion to find him.
And the when Lorcan shows up with him unconscious and all bloody and bruised you nearly lose your shit with worry.
He is out for almost 3 weeks.
Every spare moment you have is spent by his bedside.
When he finally wakes up your in the middle of a lesson with the princess.
Aelin walks in and tells you he’s awake.
You immediately get up and run to his room
When you run in he’s sitting up pulling on a shirt.
You see him grimace in pain and the blue and black bruises on his stomach.
You rush over to his bedside and sit beside him.
He looks at you and you look at him
“Hey” he whispers
You smile at him with silver lining your eyes and choke out a laugh
“Hey”
You don’t realize your crying until he cups you cheek with his strong hand and wipes away the tear with his thumb
“What’s wrong”
His voice is full of concern
“I thought you were dead Fen. 8 months. You were gone 8 months and then Lorcan and Aedion bring you back looking like that ... and ... what happened?”
Fenrys held your gaze
“It’s a long story”
You snort
“I’ve got time”
Then the two of you lean back on the bed while he explains everything.
It isn’t until you leave his room late at night and crawl into your own bed that you realize what you feel
You are completely in love with Fenrys
For the next few days you avoid Fenrys as much as possible
When one night you go to the pantry for a late night snack Fenrys is there
You see him before he does and go to sneak back out when he lifts his head and notices you
“I knew it your avoiding me”
“No i”m not”
Both your voices rise now
“Yes you are why? If it’s something I did or said.....”
“No you did nothing wrong”
“Then what is it”
“I.......”
You can’t get the words out.
You cat tell him the true reason because you fear he doesn’t feel the same and you don’t want to ruin your friendship.
“I can’t” you say
You go to walk out when Fenrys grabs your wrist and gently pulls you towards him
Your so close now you can feel his heartbeat
And it’s beating at the same pace as yours if not faster
He moves his hands to cup your face and leans in
His lips meet yours and they’re soft.
You kiss him back and move your hands to run them through his blond hair that you love
His hands moves down your back leaving tingles everywhere he touches.
The kiss deapens quickly and it soon becomes hot and heavy
You open your mouth for him and his tongue explores your mouth
He hoist you up onto the counter so he can kiss you better
(Btw your like 3/4 of a head smaller than him)
When he finally pulls back both of you are breathing deeply.
“So why were you avoiding me”
You look at him and put your hand on his cheek
You place a quick kiss to his lips and whisper
“Because I love you Fenrys Moonbeam and I didn’t think you felt the same and it killed me”
Fenrys looked at you
“Well there was no need for that because I love you too Y/N”
You lean in to kiss him but stop just before your lips collide and whisper
“I think we should move this to the bedroom”
You feel his smile grow and jump off the countertop.
Fenrys looks at you as you take his hand in yours and drag him out of the pantry and up to the bedroom.

Hey do you still write for fenrys? I haven't seen you writing for him in a long time but they were so good<33 If you still write for him, can we get some fluff ? :))
busy mornings
Fenrys x Reader
Summary: Fenrys tries to convince you to sleep in.
Warnings: none
A/N: ahh thank you! I still write for him, i just haven't as much recently, here's a little fluff drabble
“Come here,” he grumbled from your bed, his deep voice rough with sleep.
The sheets were down just far enough to reveal his muscled brown chest, golden hair strewn all over, messier than your own, and one hand extended out in front of him, the other curled under his pillow.
It was too tempting, and your teeth tugged on your bottom lip, glancing between him and the clock. One hour seems like plenty of time, but you still had to eat breakfast, wake yourself up, and manage to look presentable.
“You know I can’t.” With great effort, you managed to turn back to the mirror, trying to rake a brush through your hair.
Sneaking up so quickly and quietly you didn’t notice, strong arms wrapped around your stomach, brush clattering to the floor. Your feet left the ground as you squealed, then you were flying through the air. Bouncing on the bed, a laugh bubbled out from your chest as he followed you back.
“I really can’t.”
“I’ll make up an excuse,” he slipped back under the covers, expecting you to follow. A sigh, and you swung your legs back over the side of the bed. An arm wrapped around your chest, and you were tugged back - maneuvered under the sheets with a few quick movements.
“I don’t get to see you for a week,” he growled, “and now she’s stealing you again.”
“We’ve been together the last two days,” you poked his chest. “And it’s not stealing, I have work to do.”
A realization hit you just a moment later. “You’re supposed to be there too.” He ignored that, in favor of drawing you in closer. He was warm, and you were already tired. “A few minutes.”
-
“Wake up fuckers,” a pounding on your door woke you. Aedion. Aelin must’ve sent him.
“We’re naked,” Fenrys drawled.
“We are not.”
“For fucks sake,” he said under his breath. “Hurry up, or we’ll all be in trouble.”
Another pound on the door, and footsteps retreated. He still hadn’t left. You’d moved across Orynth for this privacy, but they still managed to show up at your door uninvited.
“I hope you have a good excuse,” you whispered, and tugged the sheets down, shoving away from him. This time, you managed to dart out of his reach and into the bathroom before he could catch you. “I’m taking your key back,” you yelled loud enough for the other male to hear.

lovemaking
Fenrys x f!Reader
Summary: Day 13 - Praise with Fenrys
Warnings: smut, praise kink, allusions to trauma/sa, minors dni!
kinktober masterlist
Fenrys groaned as he slid inside you, slowly inching his way in. You whimpered at the stretch, but interlocked your ankles around his back, urging him forward. “Such a good girl,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to the corner of your mouth, “taking me so well.”
“More,” you moaned, he was moving so damn slow it was starting to piss you off.
“Say please,” he teased you, each word coming in between a kiss pressed to the side of your neck.
You narrowed your eyes at him and the smirk on his face. “Please.”
“You’re pretty when you use your manners,” he teased you, before pushing his hips forward, the rest of his length entering your. You arched your back, a moan leaving your lips as he leaned forward and captured them in a kiss.
“P-please,” you whined again, keening your hips forward to try and meet him, your heels pushing him closer. He laughed softly, leaning over you, he propped one arm next to your head, his thumb flicking across your nipple.
“Beautiful,” He murmured, kissing and sucking gently on your neck. He finally started moving, slowly, but moving, thank the Gods. “That’s my girl,” he said, his breath warm against the curve of your neck. “You take my cock so well,” you whimpered at his words - clenching around him hard enough a strangled moan left his lips.
“So good, you feel so good my love,” your hands tangled in his hair, tugging him over to press a kiss to his lips, he deepened it, his tongue sliding against the seam of your lips. In that moment you felt like the world stopped, there was nothing but the two of you - how damn good he felt, how you could feel his love with each movement, how one forearm braced around your head, his other hand palming your breast, the slow but hard strokes making your body rock.
You loved sex like this with him, even if he’d tease you for calling it lovemaking but when his Onyx eyes met yours, your breath would catch - mesmerized by him and the pure lust, his dilated pupils, his sharp jawline.
“You’re the most beautiful male I’ve ever seen,” you whispered.
“Fuck,” he cursed, and you knew just how much he liked being praised - almost as much as you did. He littered praises down on you, both telling you and showing you how beautiful he thinks you are, how much he loves your body - the soft curves of your hips, how your breasts fit perfectly in his hands, the smooth skin of your thighs, the sounds you make for him. Your hands ran up and down his sides, gently dragging your nails over his back.
-
Fenrys loved sex with you - in any and every form. But, if he were to pick a favorite, it would be what you called ‘lovemaking.’ It healed some part of him he didn’t know needed it. You splayed under him, legs wrapped around him - every touch gentle and sweet.
A sweet little moan left your mouth as he tilted his hips, one hand burying in your hair as he pulled you up just enough to brush a kiss against your mouth. Your hands buried in his hair, pulling him down so your foreheads pressed together.
“I love you, I love you, I love you,” you chanted over and over again as you clenched around him - driving the two of you over the edge.

get up off the roof
Fenrys x f!Reader
Summary: “There’s one person who could probably get through to her.” Rowan spoke carefully as if he was treading on dangerous water with his mate.
“They haven’t spoken in weeks.” She snapped. You felt bile rise in your throat, and decided eavesdropping was a very bad idea, so you fled silently back down the hall.
Word Count: ~2k
Warnings: grief, death of a parent, angst-ish, comfort if you squint
A/N: I should be working on my kinktober list, but this is what came out instead.
Your breaths were heavy as you stood on the roof, your bare toes curling over the edge. The shingles were rough under your feet, and it took much of your focus to keep yourself balanced on the slope. Your heels dug in, and you let yourself lean back just enough to keep you from falling off the edge. It was a scorching summer day, and the rough material burned the soles of your feet, the sun heating through your clothes and leaving an uncomfortable warmth on your skin.
It was only two stories up, if it didn’t work you’d still survive - maybe a bit bruised and with a few broken bones, but you were frustrated enough to get desperate. Ever since … that … your magic had been stifled, and you could barely reach it. Losing both of your parents a week of each other, the ones who taught you to love your magic and heritage in secret. Who provided you with unconditional support and love. Your magic felt intertwined with their memory, and every time you tried to reach for it, it shrunk further back as if the grief was too strong. It had been nearly a month, and it was slowly driving you insane.
If anything, a situation that appears to be life threatening might bring it out of you.
You thought you heard someone calling your name, far off in the distance, but shoved it away. Chances are nobody was there, you were always careful with the times you let yourself suffer, let your emotions reign free.
Then, you were falling through the air as your heels pushed off the roof. Your body curled on instinct, and you hit the gods-damned bush. It hadn’t worked.
“Are you insane?” You heard Aelin’s yell from the doorway, as she sprinted out towards the courtyard. Someone had been there. You cursed audibly, not at the pain but at the explanation you’d have to give now, and the pity that would follow. Pity made you feel as if you were shriveling inside, your entire body recoiling.
She gripped under your elbow, tugging you up to stand. Her eyes quickly traced your body, noting the small scratch on your elbow with a frown. Besides that, you were completely fine. Physically.
“What the fuck were you thinking?” Despite the expletive, her voice was a bit softer.
“I was ..” pressure built around your throat, choking you and stopping any more words from coming out. You couldn’t figure out how to explain it, even if you wanted to. Aelin tugged her bottom lip between her teeth.
“Let’s get you inside.”
She wrapped an arm around your shoulders, holding tightly like you might disappear at any moment. Could you keep her from telling anyone else? Especially a specific someone who would lose their damn mind, despite them having no claim to you, and no desire to. Aelin would probably feel obligated as both your friend and theirs. You leaned your head against her shoulder with a sigh. If she wanted to, there was nothing you could do about it.
A crow cawed in the distance and you felt a shudder run down your spine.
She bundled you inside, and right off to her rooms where she started making tea. At least she kept it in her rooms and didn’t force you down to the kitchens. You probably looked an absolute mess, you could feel the leaves tangled in your hair and knew the bags under your eyes were likely a deep purple by now.
You scented him moments before he entered, and let out a low curse. Aelin turned to you in alarm, and quickly walked towards the door but he’d flung it open before you could react.
He stood in the doorway for a few moments, and you slowly turned to face him, despite your best efforts.
“Take a tumble?” He raised his brows.
“Get out.” Aelin snapped, shoving his chest back. He slowly backed out of the door, and you saw his eyes widen as the Queen slammed the door in his face.
“Y/n,” Aelin’s voice was quiet, and drew your attention away from the heavy oak door. She was in front of you, shoving a warm cup into her hands. She crouched in front of you, silently healing the scrape on your elbow. Aelin sighed as she looked at you, and you had the sudden urge to throw the hot liquid in her face. But, that would be a very ungrateful thing to do. And assaulting the Queen of your country, even if she was a friend, was a bad idea. The doorknob rattled, and you heard a pounding on the door. Pine and snow, you registered that. Aelin rolled her eyes and shot you an apologetic look.
She cracked it open just enough to speak to Rowan in hushed tones, low enough even your Fae hearing couldn’t pick up on it.
Instead, you studied the mug in your hands, remembering a grounding technique. Warm from the liquid inside, the base was white, a lord of the north painted on one side. A small chip on the handle. You ran your thumb over it, it was a small dip in the porcelain, insignificant enough you never would’ve noticed it if you hadn’t been looking. But, you’d learned over the years that if you studied anything too long you would notice every little thing that was wrong. People and objects alike.
“What were you trying to do?” Aelin drew you out of your reverie.
The words, you could get just enough words out to tell her. Out of anyone, she might understand. “Get my magic back.”
“There’s better ways to -”
You cut her off, “other ways haven’t worked.” You said harshly.
Aelin let out a slow breath and studied you. As always, you felt like she tore through every damn layer of you - seeing right to the core. You were too alike in some ways, and could always call each other out on bullshit. “Try and let it come back on it’s own.”
You’d tried. You’d fucking tried but it was miserable to not be able to access that part of yourself, the part that had disappeared for ten damned years and you didn’t want to spend a day longer without it.
“Do you think talking about them would help?” She settled down next to you on the couch, legs crossed under her and turned to face you.
You chewed on your bottom lip. You’d avoided thinking or talking about them as much as possible, figuring that would shove the pain and grief away and eventually it would disappear on its own. “Not yet.”
You felt her disappointment, and ignored that too.
-
“I don’t know how to help her.” Your best friend's soft voice floated through the open door.
This was a conversation you weren’t meant to overhear, you knew that for certain. Besides, you didn’t need help, you just needed time.
“There’s one person who could probably get through to her.” Rowan spoke carefully as if he was treading on dangerous water with his mate.
“They haven’t spoken in weeks.” She snapped. You felt bile rise in your throat, and decided eavesdropping was a very bad idea, so you fled silently back down the hall.
-
Maybe it was punishment, or her form of protecting you but Aelin dragging you to state meetings made your head want to explode. If she could, she’d probably try to stay in your room with you. Either her or Rowan had been trailing after you constantly. Like two overbearing and fussy shadows.
“I’m not a risk to myself.” You finally snapped one night.
“Really?” Aelin matched your pitch and tone. “Because I watched my best friend jump off the gods-damned roof.”
“You killed the gods.”
“And if you died I’d bring you back to kill you myself.” She was almost yelling at this point.
“Awe, you do love me.” You teased her, de-escalating and dodging the earlier topic.
Aelin shot a long suffering look towards Rowan, who only looked on amusedly.
“You could talk to him.” The bastard said. Aelin shot him a nasty look this time as you froze in place.
“Rowan,” she growled at him, before looking back to you apologetically.
“Or he could talk to me.” You said stiffly.
“Because that’s worked so well, hasn’t it?”
You forgot how much of an asshole he can be, and told him so. He only said to come up with more creative names for him before you stormed out of the room. It was a small mercy that they let you have your tantrum in peace, staying back in their rooms. If they had followed you this time you probably would have thrown something at them.
You were stewing in your anger and barely paying attention to where you were going as your subconscious guided you on muscle-memory. Right to your roof. You didn’t stand at the edge this time, in fact you sat several feet behind, on a flatter area and far back enough any busy bodies would assume you’re just relaxing. You carefully lowered yourself down on your back to stare up at the stars. A crow landed next to you, peering at you with uncanny eyes.
“Hello,” you muttered. They seemed to follow you everywhere and you couldn’t decide if it was an omen or not. To your surprise, the animal cawed in response. “I’m going to assume that's a friendly greeting.”
The bird ruffled its feathers, still staring at you. “If I didn’t know better,” you continued, “I’d assume you’re a Fae or Shifter.
You heard a snort coming from a few feet away and the animal took off with a screech. There’s only one person who can sneak up on you like that.
“If I said to fuck off would you actually leave?” You didn’t bother looking at him.
“Probably not.” The air shifted around you, and when you turned your head he was laying next to you, only a foot or so away. If you reached your arm out you could touch him.
“To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“Do I need a reason to come see you?” He let out an edged chuckle, and you turned your head back to the night sky, searching for the lord of the north.
“If I say yes will you be offended?”
“So many questions.” He tutted. That is a yes, then. “They’re worried.” Your chest tightened and blood heated. Anger rolled from you in waves. They had no right to go spreading your business, telling whoever the hell they wanted …
“I can see it on their faces, the way they’re acting.” He continued, probably sensing the emotions rising in you like a dangerous wave, battering at the dams of your already fragile self control. “I haven’t asked any questions.”
In your grief, he pulled further away from you. At a time when you needed him the most, he disappeared. You couldn’t figure out why the hell he decided to show up now, now that you were inches away from rock bottom.
“Where have you been?” You tried not to sound accusatory but failed miserably.
For once, he didn’t have a snarky response or reply to it. Instead, he reached for you. You didn’t move, but didn’t fight him as he tugged your hand into his. Your friend, the friend that had started to turn into more, just weeks before everything happened.
“I’m sorry.” His thumb ran across your knuckles, and his hand tightened around yours, interlacing your fingers.
“Y/n,” you heard a shout from your balcony. “Get off the roof!” Aelin was screaming, nearly at the top of her lungs. You should’ve known eventually.
“You can join us or you can leave.” Fenrys yelled back at her, saving you from having to do it.
A quiet, “oh,” came from below you, and you heard your balcony door shut.
“My savior,” you teased, the words coming out naturally.
“Glad to be of service.” His grin shone through his words, and when you turned the moon cast the perfect light over his face, highlighting all of his features. Onyx eyes captured your own, and his hair seemed to glow in the light. Like a bright light calling you in. You squeezed his hand once.
“My knight in shining armor.”

broken promises
(part two)
Fenrys x f!Reader
Summary: “If you need help, let me know.” Aelin replied - a mischievous glint in her eyes. Y/n realized she might have to do a bit extra work to keep her from doing something rash or impulsive.
Word Count: ~5.8k
Warnings: drinking, bad family dynamics, mention of death, kind of angst, reader is demi-fae
A/N: oh my gosh I love this idea and I got a bit carried away, I’ll have to do part two. I love your requests so much and you’re so kind, please keep sending them! I’m doing well, and I hope you are! part two will have more angst/fluff
She made frequent trips to Orynth, her Fae form allowed her to travel quickly. Monthly, at least, and Aelin got pissy when she missed a visit. Always claiming she’s one of the only people she can stand. Maybe because she refuses to use their friendship to gain any kind of influence, and always manages to drag the Queen into trouble of some sorts.
She lived rather close, her father a minor Lord in Eldrys.
She had no idea Aelin was the Queen of Terrasen when they met.. Aelin was in disguise when they met. Out seemingly by herself, although a few broody looking males were in attendance as well. It was a minor holiday, but one Eldrys always celebrated - and looked forward to how the Queen and King of Terrasen would visit.
It wasn’t uncommon for newcomers to wander into their Tavern around the holiday, and a new batch came in. Two broody looking males, and one female who was nearly bouncing with excitement. It was easy to count the blades on them, but they didn’t scream danger to her, so when the female, Lillian, approached the table they dealt her in.
She was horrible, absolutely horrible, and with a quick glance to her friend they lowered the betting pool. It always felt wrong to drain a stranger of their coins.
But, Lillian laughed it off and played a few more rounds. One of the males with her joined, and he was much better.
Somehow, they ended up in a drinking contest. Lillian matched her round for round, until she finally tapped out. A true northerner, then. From Orynth - based on the accent.
“That’s the closest anyone’s gotten to beating her,” one of my friends, Edde, told her with a smile. Lillian laughed and said she’d get me next time.
And the next day, as she was being introduced as a member of the lord’s household, she was shocked to see Lillian - no her Majesty, Aelin Whitethorne Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen, wink at her.
Weeks later, she received an invitation to Orynth - only her. Her entire family buzzed with excitement, spitting out different things to mention, how lucky she was, and questioning why it was her. The youngest child with no particular influence, and no desire to have any. And born to her fathers second, short lived, marriage.
-
“We needed a second round. This time on my own turf,” the Queen grinned at her, and disguised herself again, a bit more heavily this time, before taking her out into Orynth. Y/n beat her, barely, but ended up stumbling to the castle in laughter, leaning up against each other.
“Ignore the broody males,” Aelin whispered to her conspiratorially.
Y/n gave a quick, fumbling, curtsey that almost knocked her off balance. “Easily done.” A snort sounded from behind them, and
They went back through a side entrance, less heavily guarded, and discreetly made their way into the castle. As soon as they entered, Aelin straightened, walking through the castles elegantly. If she hadn’t been with her the last few hours, she’d have no idea the Queen was currently wasted.
Y/n collapsed into bed - waking to water and pain relief on the table beside her. She thanked the Gods for whoever did that, and cursed herself for not noticing anyone entering the room.
The friendship blossomed from there.
-
Her mother made a promise to her, and her siblings, from a young age. She would never force us into a marriage. Her mother, Fae, raised her herself, rather than in the castle - for the first fifteen years of her life until her untimely death. The rest of her family were all humans, but never carried any public resentment to her for her heritage. When she settled, things began to change.
She sent word to Aelin as soon as it began, and she insisted on y/n coming to Orynth for the duration of it - where it would be safer, both for her and the people surrounding her.
-
“Through this marriage, you and your children could provide centuries of security and relations for Eldrys.” Her father beamed with excitement, and yes, she knew he wanted the best for Eldrys in the long run - but his mind was obviously centered on the short term gains, and the extra power he could gain for himself. Something rolled in her stomach. Children. He wanted her to spit out babies.
“You said you would keep her promise.” She seethed, and his eyes turned cold.
“Your mother made the promise, without my input.” His words were calculated, cold, and stung. At the end of the day, he couldn’t force her to do anything, but he could get damn near close - and make her life difficult if she chose not to. There’s a thousand things she could say - she could insult his honor, tell him he’s disrespecting her memory, or spew hateful comments that would strike home, but she’d save those for later - if they became necessary.
Y/n cleared her throat, “I’m due for a visit to Orynth.”
“That can’t be delayed?” He raised his brows.
“Her majesty will be disappointed if I’m unable to make it.” She rolled her shoulders back, tilting her chin up.
“Very well,” her father muttered. “Do try and make it shorter this time.”
For that, she might extend it. And take some trips of her own. Y/n ignored him, stalking from the room to pack her things, her departure was set for dawn.
-
‘I have news,” y/n grumbled as Aelin led her towards her private rooms.
“Not the pleasant sort, I’m assuming?” Aelin glanced at her.
“How ever did you know?”
“You look like you smelled pig shit, and you’re stomping.”
Y/n snorted, and crossed the doorway - heading for her favorite chair and flopping into it.
“He’s trying to marry me off. Turn me into a broodmare.” She closed her eyes, forcing a few deep breaths to calm the rage bubbling inside her at the memory of their conversation.
Opening them, she saw flames dancing in the Queen’s eyes. “Breaking your mother’s promise?”
“He said she made it without his input.”
“That’s bullshit.” Aelin said through gritted teeth, a muscle in her jaw clenching.
-
Aelin was pissed. Beyond pissed. Y/n’s father - going back on a promise made to his daughter. One her friend always cherished. And, the hurt and upset in her friends eyes only fueled her own temper. She clenched her fists, extinguishing the small flames that began to dance at her fingertips.
Over the years, she’s grown particularly protective of y/n. The closest friend she’d made in centuries, and another immortal. The loss of most of her court, centuries ago, hit her hard. Maybe if she invited y/n into her court officially - although she already considered the female a personal advisor, it could deter her father. But y/n would protest - on principle. She never had any interest in politics or ruling territory - she has six older brothers. Plenty to take over from her father when the time comes around.
“Did he say who?”
“Someone in Doranelle.” Her voice grew quiet. Doranelle - although a good place to live, filled with good people - now that things had changed, it’s somewhere Aelin would never visit, and it would be difficult for y/n to visit. It would isolate her from her friends and family.
Her father wants the trading routes, the extra income and resulting power it could bring him. And, given y/n has settled, it would bring centuries of possible guarantees to Eldrys - if the marriage works. But - using his daughter as a pawn to bring that to fruition. Absolutely unacceptable in her eyes, there’s several other ways to bring that around.
“I can handle this on my own.” Y/n said firmly, noticing the look on Aelin’s face.
-
Her friend was already thinking of a myriad of different ways to interrupt her fathers plan, but this is something she can handle herself. If it came down to it, she could always leave. There’s not much for him to hold over her, and she has enough skills she can find employment somewhere else. Besides, herbs and tonics she makes sell well, even under her pseudonym.
“If you need help, let me know.” Aelin replied - a mischievous glint in her eyes. Y/n realized she might have to do a bit extra work to keep her from doing something rash or impulsive, maybe even let Rowan know. Although she’s not sure if that would help, at all.
Thankfully, the subject changed, and the rest of the weekend passed in good fun.
-
Another month passed, another visit to Orynth, and her father hadn’t brought the subject up. She hoped he’d forgotten about it, heeded her words and the reminder of her mother’s promise. It’s the least could do to honor her memory.
But, by the time the next visit rolled around, her father already had a male in mind - one she hadn’t heard the best things about. Living in a port city did have some benefits, she could ask a few discreet questions and get some answers rather quickly. She heard that he’s ‘cold and a bit nasty but not the worst.’
The guards let her in through the gates, recognizing her by now, and she strode right for Aelin’s rooms. Nobody interrupted her thankfully, considering she’s on a warpath.
She flung the doors open, and without scanning the room, started speaking. “He already has a gods-damned male picked out. And not a good one.” She seethed. Someone cleared their throat.
Aelin and Aedion were there.
“Hello Aedion,” she gave him a quick smile, before turning back to Aelin. “I told him he had no honor, and that he’s being a selfish bastard.”
Her approving grin made y/n feel slightly better. “What did he say?”
“That he ‘doesn’t care of my opinion on the matter,’” she quoted, “as if the matter doesn’t involve me at all.”
Before Aelin could respond, a small knock on the door sounded and a male she’d only heard of strolled in. “I came to see what the fuss was about.”
Long blonde hair, dark-eyed, bronze skin, and an air of irreverence to him. Fenrys - Aelin’s main emissary, whom she hadn’t crossed paths with. Beautiful - was the first thing to come to mind, and she forced herself not to look at him, lest she end up staring like an idiot. And - she got the sense he gets that a lot, the last thing she wants to do is play into a male's ego.
Instead, she made for the couch Aelin sat on, and sat next to her - not particularly elegantly, and with a long exhale.
She saw his gaze fix on her, scanning her body, instead of blushing or forcing herself to turn away, she copied his actions, and tilted her head.
Aelin saved them the grief of introductions, “Fenrys this is Y/n, Y/n this is Fenrys.” She waved between the two of us.
“Pleasure to meet you.” She half-grinned,
“Likewise.” He nodded, and took a seat in a chair across from them, propping his feet up on the table. Aelin eyed them, like she might knock them off, but ignored it. “What did I interrupt?”
-
“Nothing of your concern,” Aelin said sweetly, and felt y/n’s appreciation. She’d already given Aedion a look that said, keep your damn mouth shut, and the male gave her a subtle nod. Of course, she didn’t miss the small tension between the two of them - and the look they gave each other. Maybe a solution would work out on its own. She turned to y/n, “I need you here for a few weeks.”
“I doubt that,” y/n rolled her eyes.
“Are you going to ignore an order from your Queen?” Aelin was half-joking.
“I have a business to run.”
“And your friend can manage for a few weeks. I know you keep months of backstock.” Y/n’s lips pressed into a tight line. “Write to her. I need my personal advisor.”
“I’m not your advisor.” Y/n narrowed her eyes. Aelin only gave her a saccharine smile.
“Informal advisor. Source of sanity. Best friend.”
A choking noise came at the last one, “I thought I was your best friend,” Fenrys looked vaguely offended.
“I can have more than one.” She waved her half, flipping her hair over her shoulder. “Are you going to ignore an order from your Queen?”
Y/n groaned, “when you put it that way.”
She watched the female head to her desk, grab some paper and wrote two missives, and headed right out to post it.
“Why have you hidden your pretty friend from me?” Fenrys asked after she was out of hearing range.
“I’m not hiding her,” Aelin raised a brow. “You haven’t been here.” He had been gone frequently over the last several years, only coming back for a week or so to give reports before heading somewhere else. It is a bit strange the two haven’t crossed paths before now. “Maybe you need some extended time back in Orynth.” She offered.
“A break would be nice,” Fenrys admitted and a tang of guilt ran through her. She never forced him to go anywhere, but he’d accepted everything she offered.
“Get that look off your face,” Rowan slid through the door. How long had he been listening? “You can’t make that bastard do anything he doesn’t want to.”
Fenrys’s agreement reassured her. “Then stay here for a while,” she said firmly.
“Why was y/n on a warpath?” Rowan questioned.
Her father is getting pushy. She spoke to him directly. His face tightened, but he didn’t reply, instead launching a few questions to Fenrys, about his latest assignment. In Doranelle - somewhere she’d been hesitant to ask him if he wanted to, but surprisingly he agreed quickly.
“One of their minor lords is looking to establish more ties to Terrasen. Specifically Eldrys, the rumor says it’s through marriage.”
Y/n’s father really is pushing the subject.
“Which one?” Rowan asked mildly. She couldn’t keep anything from him, and he knew almost everything about y/n’s situation.
The description of the male made her stomach turn. Not horrible, but cold and nasty. Absolutely no way she’d let her best friend end up in that situation. Even if she had to write to her father herself. Y/n might be pissed at her for it, but if it came down to it - she would do it.
-
She knows what Aelin is trying to do - get her away from Eldrys for a while. And she appreciates it, even if she’s being a bit fussy. Plus, some time in Orynth does sound nice. Maybe she can scout out somewhere to work or live, if she ends up leaving her home. Which is becoming more and more likely by the day. It’s nice out, and a walk through the city always calms her nerves.
It wasn’t long before she made it back to the castle - just as the sun was setting.
Aelin dragged her right to her closet, saying they were going for a night out - to celebrate Fenrys’s return.
She disguised herself, and threw some clothes at y/n. Fenrys, apparently, had told Aelin he wanted to see one of their competitions in action. She’d never turn down a challenge.
-
Fenrys watched in amusement as the two females stumbled back towards the castle, arms looped around each other's shoulders - laughing the entire time. Rowan had already stopped them from falling once - only for Aelin to hiss at him and call him a fussy bastard. He’s glad he’ll be staying here for a while - and that y/n will too. Just to get to know his replacement, for Aelin’s best friend. Not that it’s a competition.
-
Y/n isn’t exactly sure how it happened, but Fenrys started seeking her out over the weeks she spent there, and she started seeking him out as well. At first, she thought Aelin put him on to it, but the Queen denied any involvement.
They didn’t spend time together alone, but she found herself drawn to him like a magnet. In a crowded room or tavern, she’d always keep an eye out for him, wanting to know where he was. Aelin teased her lightly, asking a couple of questions that she carefully deflected. She convinced him to dance with her one night, and he was a surprisingly horrible dancer, and stepped all over her toes. She ended up stomping on the insole of his foot, and he watched himself more carefully after that. She spent time with Aelin, of course, but Fenrys was there more often than not.
He did claim he was her best friend, so maybe it’s normal for them to be in each other’s company that frequently. She thought she should feel jealous or upset, but Aelin deserves good friends. And she enjoyed his company. But - if Aelin stopped demanding her monthly visits - then she would have a problem.
-
When she arrived back home, she knew something was wrong. Instantly, based on the looks on her brother’s faces - half pity and half outrage. “I’m sorry,” one of them mumbled. “He’s in his office.”
She made right for the room, carefully closing the door behind her. She didn’t bother to change out of her traveling clothes.
“What is it?” She hissed.
“Nice to see you too, daughter.” He said, without looking up from his papers.
“What is it?” She repeated, her anxiety growing with each word.
“You should be happy, your engagement will be announced any day now.”
She froze. “Is it now?” Her voice grew cold, and low. “I don’t believe I agreed to any engagement.”
“We’ve been discussing it for months.” He finally lifted his head to meet her, and flinched slightly at the pure rage he found.
“Cancel the announcement.”
“I cannot.”
“You can,” she snarled, canines flashing “but you won’t.”
He eyed her with some distaste. “A beast then, like your mother.” Y/n froze in place, debating the merits of patricide, or if she should throw something at him. But he kept running his damned mouth. “I only married her so you wouldn’t be born a bastard. I shouldn’t have bothered.”
Her jaw went slack, she felt heat burning in her chest, and her heartbeat starting to thrum in her ears. “You shouldn’t have.” She managed to say, before storming from the room like a child throwing a tantrum. But, she didn’t care, not as she made her way to her room to post an urgent message - one to Aelin, and one to her friend - explaining what happened and that she’d be gone for an undetermined amount of time. And to close the shop.
-
Aelin received a letter the day after y/n left, surprisingly. It wasn’t like her to write this quickly, and she had a bad feeling about it.
He’s planning to announce an engagement. Can I come stay for a while?
Aelin didn’t bother replying, she sent Fenrys instead - he could move quicker in his wolf form. She explained as much as she could the layout of the area, from what she could remember, and told him to be discreet - and to bring y/n back with him.
-
Aelin didn’t tell him the specific reasons behind why she was sending him over to Eldrys, but he didn’t complain too much. Only that y/n would be preparing to leave, and not to come back without her. That - he had a bad feeling about, but Aelin told him the layout of the house and he trusted himself enough he should be able to sneak in, if necessary.
Outside where her bedroom should be, he saw an undeniable figure fluttering around the room, shoving things into a small pack.
He bent slightly, picking up a small stone. Smooth, round, and not large enough to cause any real damage. He tossed it so it would hit the window pane. She jumped, turning to face the window.
-
A loud thunk on my window, and she had no idea what the hell it could be. Maybe it made her a bit dumb to go investigate it, but she did anyway. She has enough magic to throw a small shield up if necessary.
She slid the glass pane open to see clearer, and peered out.
Fenrys. Standing in the garden beneath her window. Aelin sent him.
Maybe she should be annoyed, but her pulse fluttered instead, and she grinned at him.
A second later - with a small flash, he was inside her room. She stumbled backwards, hitting the wall, and threw a hand over her heart.
“I forgot you can do that.” She kept her voice low, eyes darting towards the door, listening for anyone who might be approaching.
“It’s useful, on occasion.”
She watched as he scanned the room, seeing everything in disarray. She’d been combing through, taking anything that might be of some value to her, including the cash she’d carefully collected, and various irreplaceable items. And any of her weapons. Her pack was already full of the essentials - long ago, at Aelin’s insistence, she’d started keeping some clothes at the castle. In the rooms specifically designated for her. She shifted back and forth on her feet. It felt awfully personal for him to be in her room, her childhood room. She didn’t mind it, but now her mind was only focused on leaving - on getting the hell out of this place. Her father couldn’t announce an engagement without her there, an engagement to someone she’s never met.
“Are you ready to go?” He asked, sensing her unease.
“Yes.” Her throat bobbed.
“Lead the way,” he motioned, and she headed for the window. She’s not too far off the ground, and the pipe is strong enough for her to shimmy before jumping. “Sneaking out, I like it.” He commented, and she was grateful for his amusement.
They cleared the area quickly, and she took to the outskirts of the city - avoiding anywhere she might run into people. People who would ask questions. Once they’d cleared the city, they shifted - running, not at a brutal pace but still running, back to Orynth. It was … fun, running with him through the forests, even if he was a giant pony-sized wolf, and she a normal sized fox, she would dart in front of him to cut him off, sending out chitters of laughter when he growled, and darting through trees to avoid him. He managed to knock her off balance once, and she retaliated by nipping at his heels. She needed the run, to clear her head. In animal form it was so much easier, the thoughts weren’t as loud, and everything seemed simpler - her mind didn’t whirl with all of the repercussions that could be headed her way. Most likely, hopefully, she’ll just be disowned.
They shifted back to Fae forms once they reached the outskirts of the city.
“Did Aelin explain anything?” She asked hesitantly.
“Of course not.” He snorted, looking at her from the corner of his eyes.
“Typical.” She forced a half smile on her face, and thankfully he didn’t push her for answers. Although he’d find out soon. If she’s moving to Orynth, everyone will end up knowing.
-
Aelin was still seething when Fenrys arrived a few hours later, y/n in tow.
She crossed the room, grabbing her friend in a tight hug, y/n squeezed back before releasing her. “Thank you,” she murmured.
“I should’ve taken care of this sooner.” Aelin grumbled.
“I’m taking care of it now.” She saw how y/n forced a smile onto her face. “He can’t announce it if I’m not there.”
“Can I be filled in now?” Fenrys asked from where he was leaning next to the door. Y/n gave her a quick nod.
“Her father has been trying to force her into a marriage to someone in Doranelle,” Fenrys’s eyes flickered in recognition, before narrowing. “Even though she was promised that would never happen.”
Y/n cut in for the rest of the story. “As soon as I got back, he told me the engagement would be announced in a few days. I’ve never met him, only heard a few things - none of which are pleasant.”
Aelin carefully watched Fenrys’s every movement and reaction. Angry, she could tell he was angry for her, and … maybe a bit scared? She knew he grew attached to her over the last few weeks, with her extended time spent here.
“Good thing that won’t happen.” He said, his voice a bit tight.
“And good I don’t have any sisters he can try and pull into it.” She let out a joyless chuckle. “At this point I’m not sure how he’ll react.”
“He’ll leave you the hell alone.” Aelin snarled. “I’m sure he knows exactly where you are, and he can’t do a damned thing about it.”
“I’m sure he’s smart enough not to try.”
“It’s not even the engagement that pissed me off the most.” Y/n sat heavily, and pinched the bridge of her nose. Aelin watched as she exhaled slowly, looking up at her, silver lining her eyes. “He said he only married my mother so I wouldn’t be born a bastard. And called me a beast, ‘like my mother.’”
A reference to her Fae heritage. Aelin knows some … resentment against Fae still exists in parts of Terrasen, but right now she’s seeing red.
“You can’t kill him.”
“Don’t tell me what to do.” She snapped, before giving an apologetic glance to y/n, who didn’t look offended.
“There’s plenty of other ways to gain ties to other countries, than using a daughter as a pawn.” Fenrys’s tone was neutral, diplomatic - almost, but Aelin saw the way his eyes blazed, just like her own were.
“And he’ll have to figure that out.” Y/n leaned back, seeming to sink into the couch cushions - like they might swallow her whole. “There’s a lot to figure out,” she mumbled, under her breath.
“And good thing you have us to help.”
Aelin watched as he crossed the room, taking a seat next to her, and squeezing her knee. Her friend sent an appreciative smile - and her … was y/n blushing? Her cheeks pinked slightly. Oh, she would be making fun of her for this later. Asking a lot of questions.
-
She felt the warmth of his hand on her knee, and the gentle squeeze was more reassuring than any words had been. Then, she realized just how close he’d sat to her, and the intensity in her eyes, and felt her cheeks flush. Instead of looking away, she gave him a tentative smile. He returned it with one much more confident that hers, squeezing her knee again before leaning back, stretching over the couch and interlacing his hands behind his head.
“Maybe I’ll move to Orynth.” She mused, ripping her gaze away from the male, back towards her friend.
Aelin’s eyes lit up and her smile was radiant. “That is the perfect solution. If I remember correctly, an old herbalist is due to retire soon, with no apprentice.”
“I’ll go find him tomorrow. And start looking for a home.” There’s a lightness in her chest, one she hadn’t felt in months. Ever since he father started bringing that up.
After her father started speaking about the engagement, she discreetly transferred her private funds to a bank in Orynth. Her mother taught her early on to plan for the worst.
“You can live here.” Aelin frowned.
“Not permanently.” The Queen looked vaguely offended, but left it alone for now. “I need a nap,” she yawned, before excusing herself from the room - looking forward to a hopefully peaceful sleep.
-
Fenrys’s eyes followed y/n out the door, debating if he should go after her, ask if she might want some company. “Too bad Eldrys is too useful.” He sighed, turning back to Aelin.
“So … y/n.”
“Don’t start.” He snarled half-heartedly at her.
“You’re smitten.” Her eyes gleamed, and Fenrys debated the merits of throwing himself out the window, to get out of this conversation. Aelin wouldn’t leave it alone until he gave her something.
“She’s fun to be around.” He narrowed his eyes, all while praying she wouldn’t push any further and deflected, “I threw a rock at her window.”
“Please repeat that.”
“I threw a rock at her window.” He cocked his head, watching his Queen. She looked like she might laugh or scold him. “It didn’t hit the glass, give me some credit. It was only to get her attention.”
Footsteps sounded down the hall, and moments later Rowan slid into the room. “Did it go well?” He glanced between the two of them, his face as stoic as always.
“He threw a rock at her window.” Aelin snickered.
Rowan’s head snapped to him. “You what?”
He groaned, and left the room, not bothering to explain to either of them. Instead, Fenrys found himself heading towards y/n’s rooms. He’d never actually visited them before - considering she rarely spent time there, but knew exactly where they were.
He keeps thinking of how he could’ve lost her, and had no idea what was happening. But, she wasn’t his. Not really. Maybe he could work on changing that. Aelin’s right, he was smitten.
-
She didn’t realize she wanted company, not until he knocked on the door. Of course she knew exactly who it was - his scent is … why does she have his scent memorized?
She swung the door open, stepping aside for him to come in, if he wished, but he leaned against the doorway.
“Aelin never told me about it.”
Y/n rolled her bottom lip between her teeth. “I didn’t tell her to keep it a secret, I thought I’d have more time to handle it.”
“Did you ever consider it?”
She thought that was a strange question to ask, but answered honestly. “Not for a second.” His shoulders relaxed slightly. “Do you want to come in?”
“Sure,” he strode inside. The rooms are cozy, a low table surrounded by a small couch and a few armchairs, a few bookcases, a fireplace - and a small set up to make tea.
“Tea?” She asked, heading for the kettle, if only to give herself something to do.
“Sounds nice.”
She turned and gave him a small nod. Nervous, she realized, she was nervous. Acting like a skittish school-aged girl with a crush. At least making tea busied her hands, and he was good at making small talk. Once it was finished, they each sat in one of the armchairs. She curled her legs up underneath her, kicking off her shoes.
“Do you …” he swallowed, “need to talk about it?”
She took a small sip of the still too hot tea, and winced as it burned her tongue. “No, I think I’m alright.”
“Are you really?” He cast a sly glance at her, blowing on his own cup.
“I’m alright with not talking about it.” She clarified, and he snorted.
“If you do want to …”
“You’re here?” She guessed, taking a sip now that it was a bit cooler.
“I was going to say Aelin, but I’ll listen if you’re desperate.”
She choked on her drink, and he reached over to thump on her back, only making the tea spill over her pants. Quickly, she sat it down.
His face was red, and an apology on his lips, but she laughed. “I needed to change anyway.” He tossed her a towel and she managed to sop up most of it, before standing. “You can make it up to me, and make another cup.” Her eyes danced, and she left to the bedroom, wondering if he’d actually stay and make it.
Sure enough, she came out to a fresh brew, and Fenrys - his face turned back to the normal shade now. He handed it to her silently, watching as she took a sip. Perfect - better than what she made. “You’re forgiven.”
He exaggerated his relief, “Thank the Gods.” He clasped his hands together, looking up to the ceiling.
“Didn’t Aelin kill them?” She asked idly, tracing her finger around the edge of the cup. “You should be thanking me.”
“Thank you for your forgiveness, kind Lady.”
She scrunched up her face, giving him a dirty look. “Not a lady. I’ll likely be disowned.” His face grew taut, his expression a bit wary - as if he didn’t know whether or not this was a good thing. “That would be a relief.” She added.
Fenrys laughed, “you’d give up any titles?”
“I didn’t want them in the first place, and I’m the last child - to a beast apparently.” Her expression soured, the words still ringing in her ears. Did he ever love her? Or only didn’t want to have a ‘bastard’ attached to him, like it was such a horrible thing. “They divorced months after I was born and I lived with my mother until I was fifteen.”
She wasn’t sure why she was telling him this, but it felt right.
“Did you live in Eldrys?”
“A bit further out, closer to the woods.” The cabin still stood, technically in her name, but she couldn’t bring herself to go back often - or to live there.
He must’ve sensed her discomfort, because he changed the subject, “How did you meet Aelin?”
-
“She didn’t tell you?” Fenrys saw her eyes dance in amusement.
“Only that she was visiting Eldrys.”
“I beat her first at cards, then in a drinking contest, and she invited me here for a rematch.”
He bit back his laughter. That sounds very much like Aelin, and something she would do. A century had passed since most of their original court died, and he knew she found making friends to be difficult. Maybe something about y/n made Aelin latch onto her. Or her competitive streak. “Has she won yet?”
Y/n shook her head. “The day she does, I’ll hide out of shame. You’ll never see me again.”
“Then let's hope you keep beating her. You’re fun to have around.”
He watched her shift slightly, heard her heart beat a bit faster, and a bit of smugness came over him. But - he had to tread carefully, and he knew that.
Still, maybe whatever it was about y/n that attracted Aelin, was getting to him too. She’s something of a magnet, and a twisted part of him is glad she was driven here.

end of the night
Fenrys x f!Reader
Summary: Fenrys has been teasing you all night.
Warnings: smut, oral sex
You both laugh as you both tumble into the bed, sheets crumpling underneath you. It had been a fun night, playing cards with your friends. Things may have gotten a tad heated, but thankfully no centuries long grudges were started over a few bad hands.
His hands graze over your inner thigh, beneath the table. You lean forward to hide his movement, elbows propping on the table as you keep a straight face, despite the small strokes moving dangerously close to your core. Already wet with arousal, only your magic hides the scent.
Fenrys’s arms cage either side of your head, pressing a gentle kiss to your neck that has you sighing in content as you melt further into the pillows, hands grasping at his shoulders to pull him closer. He chuckles, but shifts to lay next to you, elbow propping him up as one hand cups your cheek.
“So pretty,” he murmurs, placing a soft kiss against your forehead.
He sneaks up behind you as you pour another glass of wine - alone in the kitchen. Soft lips graze your neck, but before you can turn to grab him, he's gone.
You flick his nose, enjoying the way his face crinkles. He catches your hand before you can pull it away, placing a soft kiss to your knuckles. One that has you both blushing and rolling your eyes. You press forward to catch his lips, falling into a smooth and familiar rhythm. Lazy, slow kisses that make your core throb with want.
-
He loves the way you writhe underneath him as his arms wrap around your legs, and he leaves gentle kisses on the soft skin of your inner thighs.
“Please,” you moan, and he looks up at you through hooded eyes, seeing the desperation written on your face and the lust making your eyes glaze over.
“As you wish,” he murmurs, licking one long stroke through your folds.
-
In any other situation you’d be embarrassed at the pathetic whimper leaving your throat but now you couldn’t care less. Not with the beautiful man working magic between your legs, his lips sucking your clit as he, oh gods, slides a finger inside of you, curling to hit that perfect spot. You couldn't think of any better way to end your night.
He groans as you squeeze around him, your back arching.
“So quick,” he teases as you come down from your high, skin glistening with sweat.
“You’ve been teasing me all day.” You whine, hands pulling at his shoulders, to bring him closer.
“I have, haven’t I?” He says with a grin. No matter how soft and gentle he is with you, there’s always an edge of wicked playfulness that you love.
