I felt it was only right to wrap up Smaugust with an actual dragon...but since I’m in a place of fairy folk exploration I thought why not meld the two and give you the "Fairy Eater”.
A medium size drake, this dragon populates temperate forests, disguised as a harmless butterfly. The Fairy Eater is highly dimorphic and mirrors dozens of various butterfly species across the globe. While not exclusively a fairy eating dragon, fairies do make up a large portion of their diet.

I find it interesting that people talk and write about fairies these days like they're these horrible, Machiavellian monsters that you mustn't ever risk dealing with. Even saying your name near them will forever put you in their thrall, forever! (Or something to that effect) But when you dig into the folklore, you find countless stories of fairies just getting dunked on in just the daftest ways.
I've been reading "The Lore of Scotland", by Jennifer Westwood and Sophia Kingshill, and when I noticed this trend, I started taking count of who wins in fairies vs. human confrontations. I'm only about a fifth through, and while it's not clear cut, the humans are winning by three points!
By way of example, let me tell you one of my favourite stories so far. Once upon a time, a young woman was abducted by the fay and carried away to a fairie mound. There, she was placed in the arms of the great fay giantess who ruled those halls. "I've got you now!" said the giantess, "I'm going to hold you as tight and as close as vine on tree, forever more!" Certainly in a pickle, the young woman considered her dire situation and simply replied, "I wish it was shit you were holding." The fay giantess was so completely appalled and disgusted by the coarse manner of the young woman that she let her go immediately and had her taken back to her home.
Not only do I find this really funny, I enjoy the fact that even centuries ago, the forthright manner and direct problem solving of Scottish women was well established.

Legends of the humanoids
Reptilian humanoids (13)
Melusine – mythical humanoid serpent transformed into a dragon
Melusine is a water spirit from French folklore and an example of human–animal marriage as well as princess Toyotama (See) in the East. She is a humanoid hybrid whose upper body is that of a beautiful woman in medieval costume, but whose lower body is that of a snake, and is also said to be a dragon nymph, as she has dragon wings on her back. She is also sometimes thought to be associated with mermaid lore. The Starbucks logo is also inspired by her.
Mélusine was the daughter of Pressine, the Fountain Fay, and Elinas, King of Albany, Scotland. Her mother placed a curse on Mélusine and her sisters that for one day a week they would assume the form of a snake from the waist down. Furthermore, if anyone saw them in their true form, they would be permanently remain forever the lower body of a snake and with wings.
Raymondin, Count of Poitou, who had left his family after accidentally killing his uncle, while hunting in the forest, met Melusine one day, fell in love and married her after making a covenant that he would never look at her on Saturdays. She brought her husband wealth and they had ten children.
However, when her husband heard a malicious rumour, he broke his promise and saw Melusine's true identity while she was bathing. Locked alone in her room, her upper body was human, but her lower body was that of a giant snake (or fish). She then assumes the form of a dragon, provides him with two magic rings, and flies off, never to be seen again. She returns only at night to nurse her two youngest children, who are still infants. Although many of Melusine's children had the nature of monsters, it is said that the future French monarch stood from the lineage of two children born normal.
Melusine's sons:
Julian (said to have later become King of Cyprus)
Eudes (whose appearance and face appear to be on fire)
Guy (said to have later become king of Armenia)
Antoine (with a lion's foot growing out of one cheek)
Renault (with one eye)
Geoffroy (with one large tusk)
Fromont (with a hair-covered birthmark on his nose)
Olivre (with three eyes)

Gnomes are a small, ground dwelling, fairy found across most temperate forests, grasslands and in rare occasions mountain dwellings. They are one of the few fairies to be commonly found alongside human dwellings, having an affinity for their gardens. While most fairy beings can be seen as pests, the Gnome has managed to sway favor as they speak to a relatively good sign for agricultural communities. Having a Gnome is a good sign your crop is healthy and being tended too.
While most fairy species live relatively peacefully alongside one another, the Gnome is one of the few fairy species who do engage in warfare. This animosity is particularly found with Pixies.
Their “red cap” has become the moniker of the species. However this “cap” is not a piece of fashion, but a highly sensitive sensory organ used to help travel in their deep underground dens. They also act as a silent way to communicate with one another in dense brush or long grass. Only males of the species possess one. Female’s caps are small and dome-like, which they commonly adorn with flower crowns. The male’s cap doesn’t always remain active, they can actively render their cap flaccid, allowing them to burrow and squeeze into tight spaces. A male’s cap will grow throughout the course of his life, some reaching lengths double their body length.

Happy VERY late 20th anniversary to Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle!
This series, along with Cardcaptor Sakura, holds a very dear place in my heart.
I hope we can get a new adaptation of the series along with xxxHOLiC that will cover everything one day. But I’m still so happy we at least have the original manga.

Satine, after meeting Fay and hearing her explain that she doesn't carry a lightsaber: see Obi-Wan, there's a way for a Jedi to protect people without drawing a blade! Obi-Wan, having seen the bodies wrecked by telekinesis and all the newly-amnesic people who have been sent home to rethink their lives: I'm on board with this approach actually, but I don't think you actually would be
