I felt it was only right to wrap up Smaugust with an actual dragon...but since I’m in a place of fairy folk exploration I thought why not meld the two and give you the "Fairy Eater”.

A medium size drake, this dragon populates temperate forests, disguised as a harmless butterfly. The Fairy Eater is highly dimorphic and mirrors dozens of various butterfly species across the globe. While not exclusively a fairy eating dragon, fairies do make up a large portion of their diet.

"The iridescent green undertones of the black feathers inspired the title – 'Absinthe'. The purported hallucinogenic effect of its green liquor namesake is said to conjure figments and fantasies, which earned the anise-flavored spirit the nickname “The Green Fairy”. I have always thought the way early glass windows distort objects looks like a wavy dream sequence, so I chose a vintage cloche for this piece because the circumferential rings rippling downward from its crown imparted an ethereal feel to the creature within it "

Welcome, dear reader! I am so overjoyed - my editor endorsed a second volume of my travel journal. So we will travel once more the realm of Almaos. If you are new to this journey - me, I am Sally A. Wittiepen, gnomish writer extraordinaire, with a passion for traveling. To celebrate the new volume, I started with a very special treat. I am staying at the top secret research laboratories of Dungeon Corp, leading supplier to the most dungeon masters on Almaos. Although a geas blocks me from reporting on their ongoing research, they neglected to include their abandoned projects. So I can share the story of their Bake Kujira project. These cursed undead whale skeletons travel the sea, seeking revenge for their murder by whalers. The tragic souls who come across them will catch an evil curse. Unknowingly, they take it home, infecting and, in due course, eradicating their entire village. The researchers caught a Bake Kujira and took it to their research facility in order to market the curse to the most evil among their clients! Yet, they were too successful. The entire facility had to be abandoned, as the curse manifested so strongly that one got tainted by just glancing at the buildings. I don’t dare to imagine how Almaos would look, had the project succeeded.

The Banshee/Beansidhe: . It is the duty of the banshee or 'woman of the fairies' to foretell the death of an individual. Banshees are attached to particular families and their cry us only heard when a family member is about to die. Banshees are reported either to be young women of mournful aspect, or else to take the form of womanly creatures or hags. With eyes glazed white or red from weeping, she continually combs her hair with a gold or silver comb. The cries of the banshee are echoed by professional mourners or keeners 'bhean chaointe' who were engaged to maintain high piercing cries and moans or 'ochone' at a funeral wake. The very first being to set up a keening cry was the Irish goddess, Brighid, one of the Tuatha de Danaan; she wailed for the death of her only son, Rúadán, and that was the first keening ever heard in Ireland. Tengu are a medium sized, arboreal, humanoid inhabiting the lush mountain and forest terrain of Nippon . Communal and highly social, Tengu live in large extended family units with a matriarch or patriarch at the helm. 

Sexual dimorphism is subtle. With males and females being roughly the same size, color and shape. While males and females both posses large noses, dominant elder males have been recorded having noses that extended beyond their stomachs. Such a nose is incredibly attractive to highly selective females. 

While relatively docile in nature, if provoked, they can be quite dangerous, using their large fangs, claws and brute to wield fatal blows. This ferocity is especially displayed during territory disputes amongst rival clans.  

While relatively high on the food chain Tengu are still susceptible to predation. Kitsune, Ryu and at times even Oni will actively hunt adult Tengu. However it is the young pups who are most susceptible during their nascent voyages away from mom. 

While incredibly nimble in the trees, Tengu also are able to fly. Due to their robust bodies they can only fly for short distances but can cover vast distances despite this.

An eclectic diet, Tengu are opportunistic eaters. With a diet ranging from fruits and nuts to Kappa chicks and small rodents. 

Due to their high intelligence Tengu are known tricksters who will regularly steal clothing, food and supplies from lost travelers.

This taxidermy sculpture is dedicated to a man named Oberon Zell-Ravenheart, a breeder of living unicorns. You read that right. They really do exist. He even owns a patent on them. If a real unicorn isn’t weird enough as it is, the process by which he created his man-made animals is even weirder. The single horn wasn’t achieved through selective breeding as you might be tempted to think. Truth is stranger than fiction, folks. When I was a small child I actually got to see one of his unicorns at the Renaissance Festival and even got to touch its horn. The experience was absolutely magical and made such an impression on me that it has stayed with me for my entire life. This taxidermy sculpture is a re-creation of that particular animal based on my childhood memories of it.
