Maybe the rage deal in the last episode wasn’t JUST “You live but have extreme amounts of rage.” What if they were offered their wildest dreams and the rage was a clause in like microfont bc to them the gifts of achieving their goals and living seems like a great deal especially for children. The rage pushes them to achieve a goal, the rat grinders are KIDS they arnt gonna have crazy outrageous dreams and ambition at 17 years old, I knew nothing when I was that age.
You have a crush on a girl for a couple years and want to catch her attention? Bam. Get more confidence, become buff, get noticed first the first time ever. Oisin was completely unrecognizable before but now after all this?
You hate another rogue so much you want to be better than him? Bam! Kipperlily finds the rogue teacher first AND signs up for the election assuming riz would be the one to do it bc why would Kristen Applebees want to be president? Which could be an event bigger fuel to KLCK’s fire.
You want to be a famous musician and you’re jealous of a bard in school who never goes to class but has what you don’t? Bam! Ruben copies her look and produce music when she’s on hiatus as well as getting signed by her label
Mary Anne’s is small and girly she was probably bullied and wanted to make it stop, so shes now indifferent, and strong enough to stand up for herself, she sees Gorgug on the first day of school get decked in the face jsut to grow into this strong guy and sees him as inspiration
Lucy was content with life, she loved her friends, loved her god and knew the rage wasn’t what she wanted to have to live with. The resurrection is supposed to help them feel fulfilled but she’d just be more unsatisfied with life if she took the offer. Lucy was happy with what she had, and had no further aspirations, she loved her god and 'stuck to her guns'
Buddy dawn a follower of helio, watches the chosen one of his church abandon everything, he’s sad and confused as to why she did what she did. He dies and is offered the chance to become the chosen one for an unnamed god, he’s scared, helio is missing, and if Kristin took an offer from a new god and was okay why wouldn’t he be?
The rat grinders were scared kids who needed a miracle, and one was offered CHILDREN WILL SCREAM FOR HELP UNTIL THEY ARE ARE OFFERED SANCTION, IT DOESN’T MATTER WHO THE SAVIOR IS

Okay, forcing the bad kids to take the last stand is not a trap to NOT revive them. That would be obvious to the whole faculty. The play is Kristen dieing for EVEN A SECOND!
Remember, she is the only cleric alive that is keeping Cassandra from reverting into her corrupted Nightmare King form.
If she dies during this combat, even if she is immediately revived, that could be the end of Cassandra.
The Bad Kids need to clean house next episode and keep that cleric ALIVE!

Ok I saw some post about how Gertie and Molman lashing out at Fabian and Riz respectively over something minor was hinting at something and I assumed at first it was just a bit that was being read into, but two is coincidence and three is a pattern and now I'm starting to think they're right, Quincy's outburst in bard class was INCREDIBLY fucking over the top (and also self destructive, like he destroyed an object he probably cared a lot about (his instrument) and bashed his head into a door)
And also the fact that he was specifically yelling about how everyone "worships" Fabian? Almost as if the true source of his rage was stemming from somewhere deeper, from something or someone who is angry that they are not the one being worshipped...?
There's a theme in this season about how stress mounts up into anger. Like, if you fail to keep up with all the pressure, you get stress tokens, get too many stress tokens, and you start getting rage tokens, and rage tokens mean you start to lash out at others and harm your relationships with the people that you care about. It's not only the Bad Kids who are under that kind of stress, it's the entire school.
By getting Arthur Aguefort, famously the loosey-gooseyest principal of all time, out of the way, and replacing him with a new principal who is going to crack down hard on the rules, getting other kids to do drugs to get them in trouble, killing a teacher and getting an entire class set to pass-fail (and now that Grix is gone even the faculty themselves are stressing the fuck out because they have no idea what they're supposed to do now), it's almost as if someone (or someones) is setting up the Aguefort Adventuring Academy to be the perfect spiritual battery to bring a god of rage back to life

Idk if I’m the first to realize this but I think I know why Lola Embers set up Gorgugs house as the new Frosty Faire location.
In Spyre genasi are descended from giants. For example, Lucy Frostblade was a frost genasi who worshipped the giant god of cold and winter… Lola Embers is a fire genasi.
We know the Forgotten God of Bakur was a summer giant god represented by fire and heat. Maybe it’s problematic to assume all genasi are related to the plot, but why else would Lola Embers be in on the Frosty Faire shenanigans? I think she’s related to the Forgotten God

Nemesis Alert does seem potentially useful, but are we going to ignore the possibility that other people use the same bank and could ALSO have Nemesis Alert turned on?
Like of all the people we’ve met so far, who seems the most likely to also have a KVX account? And would therefore know instantly the second the Bad Kids soured on her (like 2s after meeting)? Talk about a rough first impression.

ok but i'm very curious about the significance of the time quangle.
was it added just as a way to explain disjoint events - ex. zac deciding to break up gorgug and zelda, but the seven canonizing that they'd still be together at this point - and to create a prompt for this live show that's happening?
or does it have some canon relevance - for example, maybe kipperlilly hates riz/is motivated by some event that hasn't happened yet?

Okay new theory in the vein of "The Ratgrinders are Jace's pawns" - I wonder if Kipperlilly might be trying to protect all of the Ratgrinders, the same way she's trying to protect Oisin while she acquires spell components.
I'll buy that the at minimum Kipperlilly was involved with Jace's plan to restore a corrupted Ankarna from at least Sophomore year, perhaps swayed by the idea of bringing back a goddess of Justice (she's talked about wanting things to be fair at the school). Rueben's potential to musically harness lots of people's rage would also make him a natural recruit. Lucy would be necessary as a cleric, but probably a hard sell since Yolanda Badgood was convinced that she'd never change her deity. I'm imagining the following scenario:
Kipperlilly acquires the Devil's Honey for Jace, not for herself; Jace was using her to do the dirty work the way Kipperlilly is now using Aelwyn.
Jace convinces Lucy Frostblade to change her deity, perhaps using the Devil's Honey himself, or maybe magically. Maybe he was planning to give Lucy the honey to have her lie to Ankarna and say she believes in her, maybe it was a way around Oblivati Mori, or maybe Jace wants it for himself. Idk.
Jace is the one to sign the Ankarna glyph on Lucy's paperwork (the one that the Bad Kids initially couldn't read). Yolanda says that such paperwork would have needed her signature, but maybe not if the Vice Principle of the school signs off.
Lucy changes her mind/breaks free of control and withdraws her paperwork.
Jace kills Lucy, and Porter helps (sorry but it's sus that he was talking to Arianwen and Kalina after Kalvaxus died). They either blackmail or magically coerce some of the Ratgrinders into helping - at least Kipperlilly, probably Rueben as well. Maybe all of them? He could have blackmailed Kipperlilly with the sketchy stuff she'd been doing for him.
Jace, a powerful sorcerer, is the one to brand poor Lucy with Ankarna's symbol, the same symbol he put on Lucy's paperwork.
Reuben uses the devil's honey to convince himself (and maybe the other Ratgrinders except Kipperlilly) that they had nothing to do with Lucy's death (hence the devil's honey that Fig saw bleeding out of his mouth during his Dream). Kipperlilly could have been the one to do it, and maybe the Dream indicated that Rueben had been affected by the Devil's Honey?
Reuben now doesn't know about Lucy's death, and Jace either by magic, force of personality, or blackmail gains enough power over Reuben's life to start convincing him to do things like demand that Frosty Fair be held at the Thistlespring tree. Idk how aware Reuben is of the weird magic rage symbols.
Kipperlilly decides to run for Class President to get enough power to protect her friends from Jace and Porter. It would explain why she's absolutely furious that Kristen, who doesn't care, is upstaging her.
Kipperlilly is either still forced to collect stuff for Jace OR she's collecting stuff for her own ends, but now she's using Aelwyn the way Jace used her. Maybe all of the money she has is either money Jace gives her to purchase stuff OR he tried to buy her off or something?
Jace uses a powerful spell to kill Yolanda Badgood when she finds Lucy's body and brands Yolanda's body with the same symbol of Ankarna.
It would make Kipperlilly such an amazing foil to Riz - taking on more and more stress to try to protect her friends, trying to work her way through an impossible situation. And the idea of the Ratgrinders all murdering Lucy never felt right to me - I think that even if some were involved, it's more complicated, and the big bads are Jace and, unfortunately, Porter.

Wait so
Pride - The archdevil of Pride is out for Fig because Gilear stole his armour
Wrath - The ragestars, Cassandra's ex has it out for Kristen.
Sloth - The Ratgrinders only killing easy targets, have it out for all The Bad Kids.
Lust- ?
Greed- Possibly KVX's rebranding and Oshain's dragon ancestor (we see a dragon fight in the trailer)
Envy - ?
Is this anything?

This is a little bit late but I keep thinking about the menhir and the old books Adaine and co were reading to find out more about Cassandra’s history
But wouldn’t the menhir not say Cassandra because Kristin chose that name for her in the nightmare forest. She was the unnamed goddess previously. Cus before that she had a different name. Unless somehow when Kristin chose the name Cassandra for her every other instance of her name would have changed but that doesn’t make sense. Like I vaguely remember Brennan having Ally choose Kristin’s goddesses name, since previously she was known as the Unnamed Goddess. And her name had been wiped out from history like Ankarnas. And then they made a joke about it “all being about Cassandra again” (or something similar)

I think I'm finally ready to elaborate on my conclusions from my last post about Figayda & Fig's warlock power source.
I think it's pretty obvious that Fig's conversation with Ms. Sool in episode 4 is meant to remind us of Ayda and implicate her as a source of Fig's powers. The specific use of the word "paramour", the talk of contracts, the similarities to Figayda's last conversation in fhsy, etc. Plus I don't think they would modify one of Fig's warlock spells to be Ayda-themed just for flavor.
BUT!!! I don't think it's quite as simple as "Fig's patron is Ayda". Fig's relationship with Ayda could be a source of some of her powers, yes, but I don't think it is the only source, nor do I think Fig has fully deified Ayda herself (if that makes sense).
Ayda being Fig's "patron" would imply a power imbalance that seems a little intense for high school girlfriends and isn't what I think Brennan & Emily are going for. I think the bond between Fig and Ayda acts almost as a generator, creating magical energy that is mutually uplifting and beneficial to both.
The beauty of Figayda is that both girls have become more self-confident now, but not because they define their self-worth by their appeal to the other. They put in the work to be good people to each other, and in turn, realize that they are already good people just the way they are. Ayda "gets" as much out of their relationship as Fig does (whether that manifests mechanically as warlock magic on her end, we don't know).
And there's a lot of stuff around Fig's warlock magic that isn't Ayda-related at all. The bad luck & dairy stuff is clearly Gilear. The stomach stuff could be indigestion (Gilear) but could ALSO be insatiability (Gorthalax, the one source we already know she gets warlock powers from). And I'm betting (hoping) we see some possibly Sandra Lynn-related hints in the future. I also find it interesting that Brennan specifically mentions the fact that Fig, being an archdevil, could source some powers from herself.
I don't think Fig has "a warlock patron", in the sense that there is one deity she intentionally made a pact with. I think she derives her powers from the bonds she has with all of her loved ones. Fig likes to think of herself as a closed-off loner, but in reality, she loves other people so intensely. She also has a habit of adopting other people's traits (her disguises).
Like Ms. Sool said, relationships are a series of contracts, conscious or not. Fig has made many promises to Ayda, Gilear, Gorthalax, etc., and they have made many promises to her back. I think Fig shows her love and commitment to others by integrating them into herself and using that love as a source of her magic.

I don't know if it was a mistake on Brennan's part but Ragh was told twice that Kalina was back and acted like this was new information both times.
I don't know if there's some sort of fake-Ragh or his memory is being fucked with or whatever but. This could be something, right?

Anyone else notice Brennan keeps saying 8 minutes? Like it's an 8 minute walk back to your house, it's 8 minutes before class and a couple others I noticed. Feels possibly connected to this time quangle stuff

Ok IF that mysterious sour smell and gurgling were Gilear. What if he isn’t asking Fig to be his patron for his protection? Like yeah he has died a whole bunch but he has an archdevil daughter and badass pirate girlfriend. He is fairly well protected already.
But what if he realizes that school is about to start and Fig hasn’t returned? That the Night Yorb hasn’t been defeated? That Fig may be in danger and needs help getting out of it?
What if he is making a pact with Fig to make her just even the slightest bit more powerful to give her a bigger chance to get home safe?
Typically in media, devils get more power with the more souls bound to them. There’s a good chance the Fantasy High universe works the same. Maybe if Fig had a pact with someone she would grant even the slightest bit more power.

Was looking at some art and just had a thought after seeing a freshman year piece (linked below): The Rat Grinders were originally The High 5 Heros right? That changed to Rat Grinders after Lucy died. The 5 stood out to me, so I went to the wiki to double check and... yeah. Their original name had 5, not five spelled out. It sounds like a cute little name for a new adventuring party, but the thing is... there were 6 party members: Kipperlily, Ruben, Mary Ann, Oisin, Ivy, and Lucy. That made my mind go to theorizing.
What if someone wasn't always a part of their group (either literally or figuratively)?
If it was figurative, we got a situation where it's 5 party members and the extra one that was required by school rules (and that name never changed until after one of them died which is even more sad).
If it's literal, there were originally 5 party members, they chose their name based on being a 5 party member party, and somehow they eventually got a 6th member. It's not unreasonable to assume with the kidnappings and life stuff and five billion other factors that the freshman class wouldn't always be perfectly divisible by 6. That would leave one party short the first day (or with an extra person or two). There's a lot of ways to get a group of 5 to 6 if you really think about it (some of which might have been easier with Kalvaxus being in charge and/or Arthur Aguefort dead).
1. The party did part or all of freshman year as an odd group and a 6th is brought in later. In the meantime, they might have partnered with another group or got a hireling for party activities that required 6 students.
2. The school brought in a transfer or offered a spot to the best candidate/s that was still interested
3. Someone slipped in after the party formed using magic, devil's honey, or some other means/mechanic (it wouldn't even need to be at the start of the year)
4. There is an inconsistency due to the time quangle (and someone is exploiting that)
What could it mean? Who knows!? But my goodness isn't it interesting to think about?
PS: Thank you to @idonthaveanyurlideas for being the catalyst to my mad mad ravings tonight ^_^

ok so clearly whatever deal fig made in episode 1 has something to do with Gilear right? the lemon creaminess, the curdling in her stomach, her bad luck of tripping and falling into shit, not to mention she keeps getting food on her shirt?? all of these are clear characteristics of Gilear "beans-on-his-shirt" Faeth. not to mention that Gilear is suddenly having good luck, winning the cruise and shit??? is Gilear Fig's new warlock patron??? did they switch luck??? what is happening????
