The queer community hates masculinity. It treats it as the enemy and ties queerness to femininity. And there are some problems with this.

1. It completely ignores transneutral and other people who aren’t feminine or masculine.

2. Or they do acknowledge it and try to argue that because it’s not masculinity, it really is tied to femininity. It’s created a binary, if your not masculine your feminine and if your not feminine your masculine.

3. It forces a lot of people to be feminine in an attempt to redeem themselves. For a long time we refused to accept that we were a transman because we felt we would betray women. We believed that men = bad and if you are a man you have to work really hard to redeem yourself because you’re an inherently bad person.

4. Anti masculinity doesn’t just affect queer men. It effects masculinity non binary people to. So often I see people say “women and non binary’s” or treat non binary people are womenlite. Transmasc non binary’s are so often overlooked, because people don’t believe that’s how being non binary works.

5. It hurts masculine women too. I’ve seen people get so upset when butches or futches use the term boy for themselves. “You’re allowed to be masculine but not that masculine.”

6. It makes it to where multigender people who are partially male are somehow infected with the dirty boy disease. I saw someone claim that bigender peoples manness erases their womanness.

7. It’s created this weird binary as I pointed out in point 2. Men vs Non Men. This hurts anyone who falls outside the binary.

8. It hurts transmen. We’re treated as evil and we aren’t oppressed, our identity turns us into the oppressors in their eyes. Transmen aren’t the problem, (trans)misogynists are.

9. It pushes masculine queer men out of the community. We do not feel accepted or loved in our own community.

And other ways I’m too tired to think of. Some peoples queerness is tied to masculinity, and that’s beautiful. Masc people aren’t your enemy, and we should be allowed to exist in queer spaces without feeling shitty.

Being High Femme is occasionally complaining about the way people and media treats high femme women, seeing people say it's not a thing And then immediately seeing people make fun of, demonize, or infantilize high femme women and characters, use terms of being feminine against them, or make fun of more modest feminine clothing

Like, fuck it's not as bad as what butch women deal with a lot, but it's its own brand of shitty. Assholes sexualize and objectify the feminine, and then more assholes think that means high femme is bad. Futch gets treated like high femme by so many people, and anything more femme than futch is treated as over the top and weird

Literally the desire to wear maxi skirts and more modest clothes just, gets treated so fucking weird. I literally have had people hear me say "I like maxi skirts", and immediately start recommending leggings and short skirts or say I don't need to follow gender norms. Had people treat me asking "what's a good posture for looking cute" as objectifying myself. Seen people make fun of more modest dresses at stores as being for Mormons or conservatives.

This is literally how those trade wife pipelines start y'all, and I say this as a leftist trans woman. Sometimes you literally are just looking for advice on moving around in a maxi skirt, or need some posture advice for looking cute in outfits, or just are into fiber arts like sewing and knitting.

You maybe start with a few popular Youtubers if it's a subject they cover, and after a few hours of watching shit you end up with progressively more conservative places because people are just kinda weird about high femme women?

People treat it as just innately submissive or infantile or bitchy, and it just gets annoying finding advice outside other high femme women. I've had GMs question the fucking practicality of my characters wearing skirts, beside people in spike covered armor or carrying giant weapons.

I had a beta reader literally say one of my characters came across like she lost her personality because she embraced being a trans woman and started making dresses for herself after a book of not caring about her appearance

Leftists will say "destroy the patriarchy" and then still act like "Masculinity is power and femininity is submission and women who like feminine clothes and activities aren't impressive of formidable, and if they are they're obviously evil and bitchy"
