the vast majority of tumblrs editblr event things are reward motivated, so maybe try that? i cant participate this time round but its certainly a noticeable thing. when people want to join in a celebration event its usually because its based on who does the best/if there are rewards — @dovehil

we know that most of those events get people to participate are for prizes , but i think that that's kind of the issue with how inactive the editblr & mogaiblr communities are now! just participating in other people's events — whether for fun , a milestone , etc — isn't really common anymore. and it's okay if you can't participate , i don't expect everyone to but it honestly is demotivating having so many followers & nobody participates / interacts with you in your own community anymore >_<;

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.

By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.

I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?

the genocide in gaza has been going on for 6 months and there is rarely a day i don't think about it or post anything on any of my social media accounts.

i can't not post about gaza and bring awareness.

and i can't believe that none of my friends have shared anything, and i'm upset with how little my siblings and mother have.

i've known about isntreal's violent treatment towards palestinians for years. and even back then i was shocked people didn't give a shit or know about it, which wasn't their fault. western media is bullshit propaganda that purposely does not educate... so i was like "ok i can see how you wouldnt know about this."

but now day after day, we are witnessing this ethnic cleansing, while palestininas are living it and for people to say they "don't know much" about it, or they aren't educated enough or blah blah.

you have 0 excuses. people are protesting all over the world, palestinians are sharing what is going on all over social media. students are setting up encampments, people have blocked ships, disrupted political events, set themselves on fire..

you had 0 excuses at the beginning of this and you have even less excuses now at month 6

i am so sick of people being willfully ignorant and playing dumb, just admit you didn't care at the start of this, and you don't care now. your apathy is disgusting. your indifference is vile.

I think your forgetting to add that someone who knew pawfuu and hir family IRL confirmed shi was not those races many of which shi appropriated. I understand shis your friend but shi literally stole parts of my culture and hir apology was bad and deleted at that. My culture was not hirs to claim yet shi did as well as many others. Yes the account was originally trolling but there are still people who were effected by hir actions. It's extremely upsetting to see 1 person who you thought was in a similar boat to you lie about it especially on such a large scale. I recommend not defending someone who clearly hurt a huge chunk of the POC community even if shi hirself was one. - a POC who knew pawfuu and was hurt by hir actions

i'm gonna say — shi's talked abt a lot of it to people not on tumblr. i feel like the satire account also did a lot of harm & wasn't an appropriate response in any way. i'm not necessarily siding with hir , i'm saying shi's made a statement regarding her actions — nothing else. it's not my place to forgive nor critique hir actions , i wasn't hurt by them.

Okay, this is pretty simple, first time hosting a coining event and so on but nonetheless here we are. First before I get to the rules of the coining event, I want to yet again thank everyone who has come to follow us! :3 thank you.

Now the few rules this event has are simple;

you can do anything that pertains to the prompt of the day in some way,

be as specific/detailed as you want or as simple as you want with them,

you're free to make genders, alterhuman, orientation, presentation, other identity system terms, etc etc... Everything goes except TransX/ID for quite the obvious reasons.

There are up to three different prompts per day to act as an alternative to the first/main one. You can mix and match them or do on and you can do multiple separate terms for the day's prompts if you want.

Please avoid posting before the day of that specific prompt / before the event starts!

Anyone can participate you don't have to follow me to do that, just be respectful and check my BYF, so that I don't fit your DNI bc i will be interacting (liking & RBing) with the posts made for this event! :3

And at last have fun, tag me & use the tag #koiran200event so things don't get lost. :3

The coining event will partake between 29th of April and 5th of May 2024, so it's a week long event and there will be three prompts for each day that will follow a specific theme.
