What are some of the things you want in Tomodachi life two? :)
ok but in all seriousness, here’s a list of things I’d like to see:
Obviously, the main thing everyone wants, let out miis be gay!! But also, having an option for a mii to not want to date anyone would be really nice for aroace folk too. You know how in the Sims creator you have the check boxes for who your Sims likes? Something like that would be awesome, but unfortunately I don’t really see nintendo doing something like that…
More life stages than just child and adult, maybe there’s a teenager stage?
No more gendered clothing! Yes, you can technically let your miis wear whatever, but most of the time if you try and give them clothes for the opposite gender they won’t like it. Make it so that the clothes a mii likes are purely random or based on personality instead.
The miitopia makeup/wigs. Do I need to say any more?
And the ability to transfer your miis between miitopia and tomodachi life so that you don’t have to re-create them all.
If access keys make a return, they really need a rework. Instead of all miis someone’s creates just being tied to one access key, let them have their own keys as well, so if there’s just one mii you want to add you don’t have to scroll though all of them to find one. In fact, we could have a feature just like the ACNH design portal. The search bar, being able to favourite creators so you can access their miis quickly, ect…
And another thing in ACNH, there’s a feature in the nintendo switch online app where you can scan qr codes made in new leaf to get them in your new horizons game. It would be cool if you could do the same thing with 3ds tomodachi codes!

I've been recently playing Animal Crossing New Horizons again and this time not using treasure islands (I realized they ruin the fun of the game for me, unfortunately because they are very useful), but I recently reset my game to start fresh for the new year and am in need of apples and oranges, if anyone still playing has these they could gift or trade with me I'd really appreciate it! I have cherries, pears and peaches for trading as well. I would rather go about getting anything I need the "old fashion" way instead of having to rely on treasure islands, it's more fun having to trade with people!

hey friends are you interested in a crafting and exploration based free mmo with polyamorous romance and no combat/death? also with a cool mystery story about what happened to the ancient people of the land and why suddenly humans are spontaneously showing up again after hundreds of years?
palia open beta is live rn and after playing it for a few months i have to say it's very fun and cozy. it honestly reminds me a lot of acnh but with some more complex relationships with the npcs! bug catching, fishing, hunting (there is no blood or bodies the creatures turn into little bags when you hit them with your arrows), mining, foraging, farming, cooking, furniture crafting are all things you can work on starting as soon as you get into the game. the npcs are diverse and interesting and the world is beautiful! there are so many cute and cool hidden areas and quests you can start just by finding things out in the world.
i really want to spread the word about palia because i've been waiting for it since it was first teased a few years ago! if it sounds/looks interesting to you please use my refer a friend code when signing up!! I'm back at acnh, so I will make just because.
What Dethklok would do on their island, their island theme, and more stuff.
Nathan: He doesn't have an island theme, and he just plays to go fishing but the island is pretty neat 0 weeds and just enough stuff for the neighbors to interact. He has the water section of the museum complete at this point but not the others, lol.
Pickles: Messy, no theme, just random objects placed on the island, cages of bugs, fish, and sea creatures everywhere. He played it the first months after the launch and never touched it again.
William: Something like medieval theme idk, terraforming makes him so impatient because he has his full idea, but it takes so much to make in game and also to get the right stuff for the decoration is just as hard. But even if it takes him several months, he's proud once he finishes it and wants to invite everyone to do a full tour as he explains every part of the island and the history.
Skwisgaar: His island is always on the winter season, and his theme is just white. Likes to have everything symmetrical on the map, his favorite thing to do is talk to their neighbors and watch the aurora borealis whenever it happens. Also, he likes happy home designer and he only plays at night when he can't sleep.
Toki: Kidcore theme, full of colors and cute stuff. He has basically finished the game, his island is 5 stars, and in happy home designer, everything is done, but sometimes he plays it again just because and he feels bad when it happens so much time without visiting the island. He never lets anyone move out and his neighbors are the ones from the beginning.

childe, hu tao and xiao as trio. they reek of chaos and xiao is a chaos child too. he's a little gremlin, of course he's a creature of chaos. they bring the worst and best out of each other, they become inseparable, always close to each other. this is connected with bullied!xiao and antisocial!xiao, because he's an insecure little bean, trying to do his best, to achieve the highest he can and yet it's not enough. but to childe and hu tao, he'll always be enough <3
XIAO THROUGH SPACE AND TIME, inspired by my own post.
xiao accepts his end, peacefully and relieved he found out the truth about his friend. closing his eyes, he is prepared for his death, finally putting his tormented soul to rest.
but the universe says no to xiao's end, his death and final rest, and so he shoots through space and time, guided by the fantastic compass and thrown into different universes, where his adventure continues.
ASMR CREATOR!XIAO, inspired by one of my drafts and listening to asmr the past week to calm tf down 🫡
xiao who started listening to asmr when he was stressed, the soft sounds helping to calm his racing mind. it puts him to ease and it helped him imensly through stressful times during school. slowly, he dived deeper, finding new asmr creators, the famous and unknown ones, listening to his favourites.
and one day he thinks, what if I do this too? can i give others too the calmness they have given me? soft xiao please yes i beg omfg and he gets a microphone, one of the best and he thinks it's worth the spent money. he buys brushes of all kinds, and all the other materials one needs for an asmr.
he doesn't talk on his videos, nor does he show his full face. he's not comfortable with that, not yet, and films his first videos. he stuggles in the beginning, but slowly and steadily he gets the hang of it and uploads every few days. calling himself golden_alatus, he also starts an instagram and tiktok account, fully knowing he won't grow over night.
people flock to him, to golden_alatus, for his asmr are always slow and calm, the ambience calming them down and there is no rush. he answers every comment, thanking for the support and trying the new things out his followers suggest. they love him for it and while xiao himself still counts to the smaller amsr creators, he is a treasured one.
PRO-GAMER!XIAO, inspired by this answer rant and this one to fischl anon's brainrot.
a well known gamer, around 5mio subscribers on yt and even more on twitch, all rounder- CoD, Fortnite, Val, ACNH, Genshin Impact, Minecraft, literally everything. alatus is a pro-gamer and he loves to share his love for games. oddly enough, he has even more followers on instagram, some could even say he‘s an influencer too, he is a beauty after all. people who don’t even watch him gaming, follow his insta just to look at his pretty face. i can relate <3
MODEL!XIAO, inspired by… xiao being pretty.
pretty eyes, pretty face, pretty man. xiao is just pretty and a very famous model. his face is plastered everywhere, everyone wants the otherworldly adepti to model with their products, be it make-up, clothes or other things. oh yes, thanks to xiao, men wear make-up more often, simplistic yet still making a statement red eyeliner and lashes to heaven hell yes
RELUCTANT INFLUENCER!XIAO, inspired by this long ass rant on fischl anons ask again.
xiao is a pretty boy, pretty but very shy. he loves photography and one of his projects was to represent himself in self portraits. he doesn't like to be in pictures, yet he did it. it scored him one of the highest grades in class and he felt so proud. this is why he posted it on his instagram account, and regretted it seconds later. but his friends talked him out of it, and he left the pics on his account- not knowing he would go viral.
after that, and a big mental breakdown, he started posting regularly, pics he took, selfies (showing like,,, half of his face or only his eye) and the current outfit he's wearing. xiao is now an influencer. he definitely won't say no to the extra money, but he's still very nervous about the fact he has now 3 million followers on instagram.

xiao is very anxious and takes it out on his weapon or clothes. fearing losing his position as the newest yaksha and additon to rex lapis. his hands always fidget, trying to do something, to hold something, reminding him he's here, here with his master. he matters, of course he knows that, but sometimes his thoughts get too loud and he spirals. holding and feeling his spear, gifted by his new master, helps him, helps to ground him. it's not healthy, not on this level, and he tries working on it, but sometimes, he just can't help it.
RACER!XIAO, inspired by seeing a green racing car. don't come at me.
xiao getting high on adrenaline, the feeling of rush racing with his car, yes, illegally, xiao will and can race illegally driving against others and winning high sums of money. it's not the rush of winning, it's the rush of driving- of the freedom, doing the forbidden thing.
this can and will be connected with tattooed!xiao, confident!xiao, flirty!xiao, bisexual!xiao. he will flirt even more after he got his rush of adrenaline, pupils blown and rapid heart beat.

Potion Permit Review
Okay, so. As previously noted, Potion Permit consumed the past two weeks of my life. (This reminds me of when I played Return to PoPoLoCrois, and, same thing - was balls deep in it for 2 weeks bc it made my brain go brrrr).
As a fan of most HM games, even the less popular ones, I really enjoyed this overall. So it has a Stardew graphic style mixed with the overworld combat of RF, and this is my review(ish) of the Switch version.
Pros.
GREAT controls. I never at any point felt anything was tedious or difficult to engage with (outside of the grow box maybe?) It was very simplistic and stream-lined.
Cute/fun minigames. Nothing gets frantic or taxing. The Potion making is honestly really fun.
Decent Music. It's nice background music the way, I guess, ACNH has nice soothing background music. Nothing is a bop like HM/RF tunes but that's fine.
Good Male romance candidates - I feel like the 4 boys available to romance are all diverse enough to appease most everyone's tastes. Xiao is my husbando but I know a lot of people will go for Matheo or Victor (and I'll probably go for Victor if i ever play a boy file).
Interesting enough side characters. Nothing groundbreaking-ly unique but I did get a sense of community from the town of Moonbury, at least. and wanted to befriend everyone/know their story.
Pretty good pacing. At least for me, I never felt overwhelmed even when taking on numerous side quests. Outside of healing patients, nothing had a timeframe which was nice because it really did let you go at your own pace.
CONS
No weather changes? I felt this could have really added to the game in terms of immersion even if it didn't affect anything gameplay-wise.
In that vein, no seasons. Again, it would be something I'd like to see expanded upon if there's a sequel. It would feel more like time is passing and therefore adding to the immersion.
Meh Female Romance Candidates - again, this is just personal taste but I did not like any of the available women - some of them, in fact, I outright disliked (Helene). Leano was the only okay one but she felt a bit too gimmicky with the pirate thing. And I don't even know why Rue was an option. I would have taken Bubble and Runehart happily over Rue and Helene.
Some of the topics presented in the side/character quests fell flat for me. I give PP kudos for trying, for touching on things like eating disorders, anxiety, and DID but the way a lot of it was easily resolved/hand-waved away felt big oof. Like I didn't feel the poor execution was for lack of trying, at least.
Not enough Collin and Moira lol.
Biggest con for me was not being able to romance Lucke. I really hope they make him and the aforementioned girls, as well as Dean and Derrek available... some day...
So overall I would recommend the game if you want something charming to mindlessly put 30-40 hours into. But there's a lot of loose ends that, for me, don't make it as compulsively replayable as RF/SoS. Still, i feel like it's something I might come back to every year or two to revisit, and I'm glad to have met some new blorbos. :)

so you introduce him to one of the legend of zelda games! he's into it, but he'd much rather watch you play or ramble on about the games and lore. he himself isn't much of a talker so he likes it when you fill the silence
at first he's against the idea when you first propose the cosplay, mostly because cosplay isnt really his thing, but also because where would the costumes come from?
if you insist on making it yourself he'll also be against it, he doesn't want you to make anything for him (and that's on him not knowing how to handle receiving gifts, but that's an entirely different thing for a different post)
but lets say, you get him to cave. hes going to insist on helping, this guy knows how to sew! he lives in the woods! he has to patch up his own clothes! plus he'll force you to step back if you prick your finger one too many times
both because "aww he doesnt want you hurting!" but also "fresh dripping blood around eyeless jack is dangerous because hes like a cracked out piranha"
when the costumes are done you guys just kinda
stand there and stare at each other and stare for a few minutes in the middle of the cabin
one of the rare times you see him without the mask since the thing was throwing off the rest of the costume
dont expect him to go out with you without something covering his face, though, you may have to rely on a hood or make a new mask that at least fits with the theme or vibe of the character. good luck trying to get jack to budge out past the door's threshold without it

don't bring it up but he keeps the costume in pristine condition when he isn't wearing it, and keeps it nearly folded and stored somewhere where it's not likely to get a bloodsplatter on it from one of his feeding nights
bonus hc but its steering a little off topic imagine walking in on him furiously scrubbing on the costumes tunic(?) because he got one (1) drop of blood on it. like he's hunched over on the floor over it trying to get the stain out, muttering n cursing under his breath

Fav heart fragment characters in order ??
(T_T) I love them all in their own way but I shall answer anyway!! (Under the cut is a lot of indecisiveness and rambling don't say I didn't warn you)
1. It's a tie between Natalia and the man I put on my 15th birthday cake. Clive is the reason I got into Heart Fragment but I'm so head over heels with Natalia that I kind of drawn my artsona with her aaaAAAAA
Really excited for Book 3! Clive is forever in my heart but I wouldn't be surprised if Nat took his place <3
2. Coming in close is Shannon!!! In my opinion, her route is the best written in terms of exploring feelings so far plus I feel I relate to Shannon so deeply on a personal level about a lot of things. Shannon you are best girl ♪(^∇^*)
3. My favourite route to play so far is actually Lana's! Which I find surprising since romance is my go-to but there's just something about cherishing the validity of platonic and familial relationships. I'm so up for playing ACNH with Lana so she deserves this spot
4. And cutting it close is our protag Xani >:3 (all genders. Xani is Xani) Despite my pathetic lack of experience in VNs, I adore how customizable their personality is and how their choices affect the plot. I enjoy a set protagonist because when it comes to story-heavy media I'm not too eager to self-insert (•ө•)♡ (see above: mention of artsona x Natalia)
Also how can I forget that I literally bought fem!Xani's charm?? Her outfits are sooo cute ESPECIALLY that purple blouse!😭
5. I feel like Jasper and Kay should be higher up on this list but I simply have a preference for the others ^^" Nevertheless, Jasper is the route I'm most looking forward because I really enjoy his dynamic and interactions with the protag (the kidnapping in Shannon's route doesn't count. NO. SHOO).
Enemies to lovers(?) doesn't describe them enough. The trope doesn't do them justice. One has wanted to murder the other for TWO DECADES and the latter has been in the dark about it until now. The fact that Xani/MC and Jasper have a lot of things in common (dare I say more than MC and Clive) but they want to rip each other into pieces is making me jump up and down excitedly omg.
AND KAY. Kay I don't hate you but I just like the others more than you :( But I really really hope that we get to see him again in Book 3 because he deserves a happy ending just like everyone else.

reminder to acnh players who get really emotional about restarting and leaving their villagers behind!!!! (a.k.a. me. this post is mostly for me)
you are fine. for some people, restarting and exploring new ideas (or, in some cases, the same sort of ideas just repackaged or changed ever so slightly,) is part of the game. you can and likely will see your favorite villagers again. hell, i take my favorite little dude (tiansheng) on every island.
and as much as we all hate to hear it, it really is just a game. it's all just for fun, and if you really feel the need to restart every once in a while, that's totally fine! nobody's gonna be mad at you, and if for some reason they do, what the hell? that makes no sense lol!!
and you will find the right island eventually. one that feels right, one that you don't get crazy burn-out from (though, burn-out will come if you over-work yourself on an island, it's inevitable. take care of yourself, dudes) and genuinely enjoy every part of.

Animal Crossing Fish - Explained #210
Brought to you by a marine biologist to tell you that yes, fish visibly age, too...

Video games that feature sea life want to capture your wonder about the oceanic environment. Of course they do - enchanting you with beautiful colors or real monsters lurking in the dark depths makes for great scenery and danger between your objectives. Just look at the Endless Ocean series or Abzu; there are scientifically accurate animals depicted, but they have been cherry-picked for the most familiar and the most colorful, strange, large, or wonderful examples of their taxonomic families. It’s no wonder then that juvenile fish are often those picked to fill these seascapes, as they are often the life stage when fish are at their most vibrant (just like the rest of us...). Animal Crossing is no stranger to doing this - look at the Yellow Boxfish and the Threadfin Trevally we recently covered. So, it’s actually quite surprising that they opted *not* to do this with today’s fish, the Longtooth Grouper.
The Longtooth Grouper was a special “goals” fish that appeared for it’s event in January of 2021. Seeing as groupers in general are usually more warm-water fish...y’know what, we’re not going to get into this again. Just remember, ACPC doesn’t care about realistic habitat and temperature like ACNH did.
Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think we’ve really ever covered Groupers before. We almost did way, way back in 2020 when I covered the fish everyone loves to hate, the Sea Bass, but that animal didn’t actually belong in Serranidae, the Groupers and Sea Basses (yes, that’s confusing. Read the fish explained on the sea bass to purse out why that’s so asinine.) Serranidae is a very large family of fish - it comprises about 450 species, most of which are small. It’s more infamous members, though, are incredibly large fish. Groupers typically evoke the image of a very large, rotund fish that stalks the coral reef, and that isn’t too far off for those extra large species. “Grouper”, almost like “bass” is a name given to many fish, though when one says “grouper”, they are usually talking about fish in the Subfamily Epinephelinae. Today’s Longtooth Grouper belongs in this subfamily, in genus Epinephelus. Fish in this genus are super important to fisheries around the world in tropical and subtropical areas.
The longtooth grouper (Epinephelus bruneus) is native to the western Pacific, from southern Japan down along the east Asian coast to South China. It is heavily fished throughout its range, making it vulnerable to population declines.

Most photos - and video games - you will find of the Longtooth Grouper will depict its more juvenile form. When the fish are small, they have a complicated mottled pattern of white dots and bars that help them to camouflage in the shadows of seagrasses, corals, and other structure. As the fish ages, those white markings steadily disappear. In the very largest specimens of this species, they will appear more like the ACPC icon - more olive, brown, or nearly black with very faded remnants of their baby markings, though some old adults have been found with no markings at all. I’m wondering if this choice was made for the icon because it is the adults that are fished for sashimi. Animal Crossing clearly loves to introduce us to the fish that are considered delicacies over in Japan, so I don’t think I could be far off.
But, yeah, fish age, and it can be really obvious. Just like all of us, older fish will appear more drab, a bit more beat-up, slow, with scars to mark their journey through life. Considering I threw my back out last weekend, I’m really feelin’ that these days. It’s all a part of growing old, I guess.

sorry for being a rando popping into your inbox but wrt your posts about smt5 and the acnh effect, as a lifelong fan of animal crossing i hard agree on nh and it's kind of depressing to see so many people say it's the best animal crossing when it isnt even CLOSE. id say the downfall of ac started with new leaf since thats when they started lobotomizing the villagers, but acnl actually had tons and tons of content that kept me playing for literal years. meanwhile with nh i only popped in to check out the new updates then stopped playing. i could write an entire essay on how they completely gutted the original tone that animal crossing had with its writing and overall vibes and basically sanitized a fun, unique quirky little game into being The Relaxing Game.
with smt5, i think the problem is something different though. if you read the interviews from very early in v's production, the devs mention things they wanted to be in the story--namely, they wanted v to touch on themes of extremism in modern society and how in the face of the world being on fire gen z and millennials feel utterly hopeless and like they have no future. none of that was in the final product. granted, i have very little knowledge of game development but since v was in production prior to and during the pandemic, i have a theory that there was meddling on the part of corporate that really messed with the development process with the pandemic on top of that. according to a friend of mine, someone data mined v and there were a ton of unused assets and concepts, which seems to support my idea that there was a huge shift mid development that squandered v's potential.
one thing though, is that new people getting into smt though v means that they're more likely to play the other games in the series and see what it's like when smt's potential is realized, whereas this doesnt really exist for animal crossing since animal crossing is generally the same all around where each smt game has a vastly different story and tone from the other games.
(i might be misinterpreting but one criticism i have of your addition to that one post if you describing this phenomenon as Kirby On The Switch when as a lifelong kirby fan the most recent kirby game was unironically a near perfect game and most people seem to be in agreement on that and it was clear that hal labs put a TON of love and work into making it. but sadly kirby and the forgotten land is an exception to what you were talking about on that post)

i wouldnt call myself a lifetime ac fan but i played the FUCK out of new leaf, i think i got it in 2014 and i have about 1000 hours in it, which is why i was so dissapointed with NH...and ive heard and understand peoples criticism of NL so it must be really really rough for old ac fans to see NH just double down on all that.
that's really interesting about smtv though, i hadn't heard that about the datamining and stuff? and i guess the original interview i hadnt seen because i wasnt into smt then LOL. i actually am gnna go look at that because it really does feel like a game that went thru development hell and had to rush things, i remember before release being really worried that we hadnt gotten any story trailers or english va announcements...esp since the game was announced at the same time as mario odyssey LOL
and yes thats very true that people might get into smt thru smtv. i definitely agree with that point but at the same time, someone is equally likely to not really click with it then drop it and not touch the series again... but well. not the point.
about kirby i was honestly thinking about that when i was posting it, i havent played the forgotten land but every kirby fan i know loves it (i was actually thinking of picking it up myself as a 3d platformer fan) so yeah i can def see how thats an exception. it is true that really good games with passion behind them still can come out which is really heartening, i wish it wasnt such a surprise when it happened!
but yes i think animal crossing really embodies this point. the way its become a cultural icon and people dont know what the series USED to offer so they think that NH is good and what they're all like is so dissapointing, especially as a life sim that youre meant to put tons of time into... it frustrates me to no end when i see people joking abt AHh i have no motivation to go back to my island its so much work i havent played in so long.. like this wouldnt have HAPPENED if the game wasnt shit!! i never had "no motivation" to play new leaf because it was an actual game and not a halfway between life sim and sandbox game that is the worst of both worlds! i checked in on new leaf EVERY. DAY. after school when i was in high school and id play for an hour each day. i dont think i missed a single day in maybe three years.
in new horizons i told myself id go back to it if they ever added cooking. then they added cooking and i went back to it and it sucked so i stopped playing again
there is literally no reason to play it other than customizing your island as a sandbox game but the sandbox elements are so fucking miserable to play that you have to be, excuse me for saying this, unemployed to actually find the time to make your island look good. the game coasted on the fact that it released right before the pandemic and everyone had the free time to play it.

it's curious to me how this game is built in such a way that I do actually in fact keep thinking about it and coming back to it
unlike all the other action-y games I've ever played
I don't know what it is that makes it work, but somehow it does...for me, anyway
I do like the story and how it's given to you in bits and pieces, like pieces of a puzzle that you're slowly fitting together
I also like how the questions are in clusters, split apart by parts where you kind of have to complete it with others
even though I always worry that I seem like a terrible klutz who doesn't know what she's doing, it's been nice to get to play with friends somewhat periodically... keeps me from becoming entirely asocial lol
and then just overall, it's been nice being able to play this at my own speed... I guess since the game's been out for quite some time now, so there's no peer pressure to have to finish the game asap; everyone's at a different point in the game. unlike when I got fe3h or acnh, it felt like I had to rush against the clock to try to get to where everyone else was...at which I failed miserably, and thus became unable to really enjoy the game thereafter orz
also, ngl, having an oc to think about every now and then has been nice, too
I mean I've had a few self-insert ocs at this point, but since I've been playing on and off again, of course my wol is floating in and out of my consciousness lol

it's been a fun ride so far, and I'm glad
I only hope that I'll be able to keep playing even when I hit the expansions... I always fear my gaming abilities aren't...enough, so... and that's been the norm, that my abilities aren't enough, so I always hit a ceiling of enjoyment where I can no longer proceed further bc I'm just not good enough lmfao ugh

I need a random opinion…. Should i delete my acnh save… i put so many hours into it and i love my town etc but i havent played in so long and i want to terraform from scratch again… im so torn lol pls help ily
omg hi ily anon! 💛 honestly this is kind of hard to answer for me bc everyone has such different play styles, especially when it comes to building your island and getting back into the game. i know i can be pretty bad about deciding im unhappy with my island and restarting from scratch lol so i definitely think that can be a refreshing option! especially if you’re looking to terraform everything again! on the other hand though, if you really love terraforming then flattening is also a good option! personally it’s not for me, i tend to do pretty minimal terraforming so any time i’ve tried to flatten it becomes overwhelming very quickly 😅 but i know it can be a good choice for people who like it and do truly want to build their island from scratch! either way, i definitely recommend uploading a dream address of your island (even if it’s just for yourself!) before you do any kind of restart so you can go back and visit!! i hope this was at least a little helpful!! good luck with your island!! 💛

Good morning, everyone!!!! My mood is getting better and I'm starting to feel more like myself again! Yesterday was,,,well it should have been a good time but I just absolutely broke down.
Today, tho, is better! I've also been playing Dreamlight Valley and am Obsessed. If you like sims or acnh, it's got a combo of those vibes. V v v fun and relaxing!
Writing is on pause as my brain reorients itself! Voidstrike, puppy love, and then should work on Ghostface just in time for spooky month!
