Ted Lasso, the character, is one of the only representations of 'sometimes getting better with your mental health issues means that you are less visibly happy, and that is okay, because you are not required to be happy in order to be loved' out there and I am really discouraged that so much of the audience is angry at that.

#arctic monkeys #alex turner #listen this was purely out of curiosity #there are so many poetic and imaginative ways in which alex describes love #i just wanted a tangible record of every time he just straight up uses the word #i was surprised that humbug only had one mention and even that was a b side but when i was making this i realised that it was such a #lyrically dense and innovative album and descriptions of love were more elaborate and straightforward #*less straightforward #(might make a separate post about that)#also found that the other albums were quite consistent except the car #i found it interesting that most of the songs aren’t actually about the same kind of love like the earlier albums were #the earlier ones use love as a nickname and portray the physical embodiment of being in love #and even in tbhc it describes this feeling despite there being slightly fewer mentions #but the car seems more like a goodbye album… not even about breaking up… just goodbye which is very….#there’s no room for love in amongst the melancholia and introspection #and makes me wonder about his relationship with love at the moment #it seems very disassociated and immaterial like he has no interest in spouting poetics about love like he did before #and i hope he can rebuild that relationship #i could probably say more but im not going to bc this is getting way too long #cheers if you actually read this whole fucking essay #i spent way too long on this if you cant tell

Moving update:

With all luck to a completed closing finally happening next week, @crowtoed and I should be starting our drive out of Florida on November 7th. We celebrated pre-emptively with a goodbye to EPCOT, which included a truly befuddling pickle milkshake at the Food & Wine festival.

Thanks to everyone who has reached out offering a place to crash along our route north -- we have called ahead and found some cat-friendly hotels, and as much as I'd love to squish some of y'all's faces IRL, it'll be less stressful for the cats to have a large room where we're the only people.

We're not out of the woods just yet, but it's feeling more and more likely every day.

He did say his favorite is Gaimon but! He also said his favorite antagonist is Buggy and tbh seeing how much he enjoys writing him it's just obvious he loves him.

And I'm not exactly saying it will be Blackbeard specifically, I literally have 0 theories regarding Shanks' death. I just have the feeling he'll die because his death flags are... Too obvious. He doesn't show up very often but when he does it's to leave us viewers wanting more and loving him. He's not an antagonist, in fact, he's loved by the main character and he's basically his mentor. But he still keeps a major secret from us. He's very complex but unexplored and... This type of character always ends up dying.

Loved by the main character + Doesn't show up much but is important for the plot + Hides something = Death will get a strong reaction out of the characters and will break our hearts but we won't miss him that much at the end of the day and thanks to that we will have a big part of the main plot revealed finally

Also, he's not an antagonist but since he does have something mysterious going on, Oda can't just leave him alive and happy and being a good-hearted Pirate at the end of the story. He's either an actual villain (which I highly doubt) or he's dying. Because otherwise, I think it'd be a pretty underwhelming ending for his character. But Oda surprises us by breaking stereotypes in Shonen a lot, so maybe Shanks doesn't die. But who knows... I'm just saying that if somebody has to die, it's gonna be Shanks.
