Ok so based on the most recent info...we can all agree that all Joost did was stick up a middle finger at a someone who was filming him without his permission, right? We can all agree that it was extremely manipulative to imply what he did was way worse by describing it as "threatening a female member of staff" and just letting it just hang in the air, effectively making it sound as if he had (sexually) assaulted a woman, right?
#not to mention its very convenient that the one person who spoke up when that israelian girl was asked if she should have come-#-and she didn't want to answer#like in my opinion it seems like they didn't like that he implied a certain amount of skepticism towards Israel#(btw im not implying he made some sort of pro-Palestine statement - kind of a lukewarm take#but i am implying that they didnt like that he didn't stay completely silent on the whole situation)#joost klein#eurovision

It's honestly amusing to me how this year Sweden kept making fun of Käärijä, how they kept the "haha, imagine Finland would've won last year, then there'd be milkmaids, Moomins and Käärijä as interval acts, wouldn't that be crazy" attitude for both semis and the final, and then proceeded to give us these absolute bangers of interval acts:
1. A song about EBU's spoke person wanting to bang Martin Österdahl (paired with continious booing from the crowd lmao).
2. Loreen, singing two different songs which sound completely the same, with the most hideous staging on Earth (I'm sorry, Loreen fans, but it looked like she got stuck in the dentist's chair).
3. Creepy AI (?) ABBA holograms. Sorry once again, but they were hard to look at, I'm glad they weren't there for long.
You know what? I WISH there were milkmaids, Moomins and Käärijä. That would've been really fun.

last esc post i prommy but here is how i would fix eurovision
a) jury vote value down to 25%, televote 75%
b) winners of past years can only feature as guests, not contestants. you had your shot, now move on
c) national juries need to have a fixed number of people from music related backgrounds reflecting diverse tastes and opinions, and jury lists should be public for transparency. keeping their names secret to avoid bribery has not prevented bribery from happening nonetheless
d) make votes cost the same for everyone. when some countries pay 0.20€ per vote and others well above 1€ that's gonna skew results
e) and lastly, get rid of israel

As much as most of us (I assume) found Joker Out through Eurovision last year and maybe are big fans of the contest (me included), please consider boycotting Eurovision this year!
Palestinians and allies have called for the disqualification of Israel but the EBU has refused. Now Israel is participating with a song that used to be called "October Rain" (the title has been changed) that is very clearly referencing October 7th.
Russia was (rightfully) disqualified for opening fire on Ukraine. Israel is allowed to continue, despite the year-long occupation and murdering thousands of Palestinians in the last half year alone.
Boycotting means not watching, not streaming the shows, not creating or interacting with any Eurovision content. You will miss out on a glittery night of music and it will suck, but it will help path the way to a free Palestine! 🍉

Να γράψω λοιπόν δυο λόγια σχετικά με τη συμμετοχή της Ελλάδας στην Eurovision. Αυτά που θέλω να πω δεν έχουν καμία σχέση με το Ισραήλ, τον διαγωνισμό και σχεδόν το ίδιο το τραγούδι αλλά με μας ως κοινωνία των Ελλήνων.
Αλλά για τα βασικά, μου άρεσε το τραγούδι; Όχι, δεν είναι το στιλ μου και εδώ που τα λέμε δεν είναι ακριβώς τραγούδι. Είναι ένα εγχείρημα που έχει σκοπό να τραβήξει την προσοχή και η πορεία του θα εξαρτηθεί 100% από το πώς θα παρουσιαστεί στην σκηνή της Eurovision. Μια έξυπνη σκηνική παρουσία μπορεί να το ανεβάσει ψηλά. Η ��άττι γενικά παίρνει το ρίσκο να ακολουθήσει την συνταγή του Tucutum, παρά τις αντιδράσεις που είχε λάβει και εκείνο, και να το κάνει ακόμα πιο ακραίο για να εντυπώνεται στο μυαλό τόσων ανθρώπων. Και η ίδια έχει καταστήσει σαφές ότι αντιλαμβάνεται ότι η προσπάθεια είναι ριψοκίνδυνη. Ωραία, αφού παίρνει συνειδητά ρίσκο και μένει πιστή και στους τελευταίους της πειραματισμούς, το σέβομαι κι ας μην είναι της αρεσκείας μου.
Όμως αυτό που θέλω να σχολιάσω είναι τον άρρωστο πόλεμο που της έχει εξαπολύσει το μεγαλύτερο μέρος του Ελληνικού πληθυσμού.
Οι ίδιοι άνθρωποι που συνήθως αποκαλούν την Eurovision «σαχλό πανηγυράκι» τώρα θρηνούν την «δολοφονία» του υψίστου Ελληνικού πολιτισμού από την κακούργα Σάττι και ζητάνε συγγνώμη από τους Ευρωπαίους!!!
ΠΑΤΕ ΚΑΛΑ ΡΕ;;;;; Ζητάτε συγγνώμη και λέτε μαλακίες του τύπου «Ντρέπομαι που είμαι Έλληνας» στα Αγγλικά (για να τις δουν σίγουρα όλοι) επειδή ένα μουσικό βίντεο είναι τρολλιά ή ένα τραγούδι είναι λίγο περίεργο; Δηλαδή είναι υποκουλτούρα οι αλήθειες που δείχνει η Σάττι αλλά όχι εσείς που γράφετε στα αγγλικά, προσποιείστε ότι είστε ξένοι για να βρίσετε το τραγούδι και να επηρεάσετε τη διεθνή γνώμη εναντίον του;;; Κι εσείς τώρα έχετε απαίτηση να σας θεωρήσει κάποιος πολιτισμένους; Το μόνο που κάνετε είναι να αποδείξετε ότι η Σάττι τα δείχνει όλα πολύ ωραιοποιημένα γιατί η αλήθεια είναι απείρως πιο σάπια.
Είπαν λοιπόν ότι το τραγούδι είναι πακιστανοινδικοανατολίτικο και δεν δείχνει τον Ελληνικό πολιτισμό. Καταρχάς οι υψηλές που κάνει η Σάττι είναι πιο πολύ αξιοποίηση της σοπράνο φωνής της και του σκοπού της να σε αρπάξει από τα μούτρα αμέσως παρά αναφορά στο Bollywood, αλλά μπορεί να είναι και το δεύτερο αφού έχει πολλά αυτοβιογραφικά στοιχεία μέσα το τραγούδι και ο αδερφός της παντρεύτηκε Ινδή. Ασχέτως αν οι ψηλές θυμίζουν Ινδία, η μελωδία είναι Ελληνική παρά ινδική. Μετά ακολουθεί το reggaeton που φυσικά είναι Δύση. Μετά μια γέφυρα που είναι πιο κλασικά Ελληνική μπαλάντα (το αγαπημένο μου σημείο) αλλά δυστυχώς κρατάει λίγο. Μετά συνεχίζει με δυνατό ζουρνά και ένα ηχητικό μοτίβο που το θυμάται κανείς εύκολα (ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ). Το θέμα είναι ότι το να πει κανείς ότι δεν υπάρχει τέτοια Ελληνική μουσική είναι ΨΕΜΑ. Μπορεί να είναι από τις πιο ανατολικές επιρροές της ελληνικής μουσικής αλλά σίγουρα είναι μέρος της!!! Αυτοί που διαρρυγνύουν τα ιμάτιά τους ότι δεν είναι ελληνικό το τραγούδι γνωρίζουν άραγε ότι ο ζουρνάς είναι ΑΠΕΙΡΩΣ πιο κοντά πολιτισμικά με το μπουζούκι και τον μπαγλαμά από ότι είναι το βιολοντσέλο και το πιάνο;;;;;;;;
Τι θέλετε να δείξετε δηλαδή ως ελληνική μουσική κουλτούρα; Τον μπαγλαμά οκ αλλά φρικάρετε στον ζουρνά, μην σας πούνε ανατολίτες; Καταλαβαίνετε πόσο ειρωνικό είναι όλο αυτό; ΕΙΝΑΙ ΟΛΑ ΑΝΑΤΟΛΙΚΗ ΜΟΥΣΙΚΗ! Και η λύρα και η ασκομαντούρα και όλα. Μπορεί να είναι η πιο Ανατολική εκδοχή της Ελληνικής μουσικής αυτή που παίζει η Σάττι, είναι όμως σίγουρα απλά μια ακόμα πτυχή της εγγενώς ανατολικής Ελληνικής μουσικής.
Κάποιοι τρελοί έφτασαν στο σημείο να γράψουν ότι η Σάττι κακοποιεί την Ελληνική γλώσσα και άλλοι ότι δεν είναι πραγματικά ελληνικά αυτά που μιλάει. Από εκεί καταλαβαίνεις το μέγεθος της κακίας, τόσης που τους χαζεύει το κεφάλι. Το τραγούδι έχει ξεκάθαρο Ελληνικό στίχο ερωτικού τραγουδιού.
Αλλά με το βίντεο με τρελάνανε. Λοιπόν το βίντεο είναι εξαιρετικό, είναι χιουμοριστικό και είναι ανατρεπτικό. Από τα καλύτερα μουσικά βίντεο που έχω δει. Έχει απίστευτα “Easter eggs” και φανταστική κίνηση της κάμερας (από διακεκριμένο Αυστραλό σκηνοθέτη). Όποιος το λέει φθηνό φανερώνει ότι δεν ξέρει τι του γίνεται.
Γράψανε λοιπόν οι πολύ Έλληνες ότι το βίντεο δεν παρουσιάζει τίποτα «πραγμ��τικά Ελληνικό», διακωμωδεί τον Ελληνικό ΠολιτισμόΤΜ και νιώθουν ντροπή που παρουσιάζονται έτσι και που τα αρχαία μνημεία τους είναι στο ίδιο βίντεο με τα άλλα παρακμιακά στοιχεία. Για να δούμε λοιπόν τι γεμίζει ντροπή τους Έλληνες:
Ντροπή νιώθουν με την χωριάτικη σαλάτα, την φέτα, το σουβλάκι, το τζατζίκι, τις ελιές. Όπως όλοι γνωρίζουμε οι Έλληνες τρώνε μόνο σούσι, χαβιάρι και λούζονται με λάδι τρούφας.
Οι Έλληνες δεν έχουν δει ποτέ σαλέπι να πωλείται σε εμπορικούς δρόμους.
Οι Έλληνες ντρέπονται να παρουσιάζονται ως ευδιάθετοι χορευταράδες. Πού ακούστηκε Έλληνας να χορεύει σαν κανένας άγριος;
Και ειδικά με ζουρνά. Άγνωστο εντελώς ποταπό όργανο. Οι Έλληνες χορεύουν μόνο βαλς, άντε και κανένα φοξ τροτ.
Ντροπή να δείχνετε γάτες, η Ελλάδα δεν έχει πουθενά εκεί έξω γάτες.
Η αναφορά σε καγκουριλίκια, που δεν έκανε ποτέ κανένας νέος στην Ελλάδα, απαγορεύεται δια νόμου ακόμα και αν είναι χιουμοριστική.
Οι Έλληνες απ’ ό,τι φαίνεται ντρέπονται για τα τσαρούχια του τσολιά.
Οι Έλληνες θεωρούν σκανδαλώδη την αναφορά στην διοργάνωση των Ολυμπιακών αγώνων, που ήταν ένα ντροπιαστικό ανθελληνικό γεγονός.
Η Ελλάδα ποτέ δεν βασίζεται οικονομικά στον τουρισμό, οπότε θεωρεί εικόνες τουριστικών αναμνηστικών, οδηγών και χαρτών της Ελλάδας μια μη ρεαλιστική και προσβλητική προβολή.
Για πείτε λοιπόν; Ποιο από όλα τα ανθελληνικά αυτά στοιχεία σας πείραξε;

Τι υποκρισία.
Δύο τινά και δεν ξέρω ποιο είναι χειρότερο: είτε οι Έλληνες δεν έχουν καμία επίγνωση για αυτό που είναι είτε ντρέπονται για αυτό που είναι και είναι έτοιμοι να γλείψουν τις σόλες των ξένων να ζητήσουν συγχώρεση που έκαναν ανατολίτικο ή τρελιάρικο τραγούδι. Ο περήφανος Ελληνικός πολιτισμός. Δεν μπορούμε να φάμε, να χορέψουμε ή να σπάσουμε πλάκα χωρίς να ζητήσουμε την έγκριση από κάποιον Βορειοευρωπαίο. Χαρείτε τον τον πολιτισμό σας.
Και φυσικά για τίποτα από αυτά δε φταίει πραγματικά κανένας Βορειοευρωπαίος. Είναι όλο πάνω μας, όλο το φταίξιμο, όλη η αρρώστια. Το εννοώ. Έχουμε πρόβλημα.

Μπα; Και ποιος είναι;
«Η Ακρόπολη, ο Αριστοτέλης, ο Σωκράτης»
Τότε καν’ το! Τι κάθεσαι και γκρινιάζεις. ΣΚΑΣΕ ΚΑΙ ΓΡΑΨΕ ΦΙΛΟΣΟΦΙΑ. ΠΗΓΑΙΝΕ ΚΑΙ ΧΤΙΣΕ ΣΕ ΚΛΑΣΙΚΟ ΙΩΝΙΚΟ ΡΥΘΜΟ. ΦΑΕ ΣΥΚΑ ΜΕ ΜΕΛΙ. ΦΟΡΑ ΣΕΝΤΟΝΙ ΓΙΑ ΡΟΥΧΟ. ΚΑΙ ΠΑΡΑΤΑ ΜΑΣ.
Πότε γίναμε τόσο ηλίθιοι και ανίδεοι; Πάντα είχαμε μια δόση αλλά τώρα είμαστε στο ναδίρ της ύπαρξής μας.
Το να λες παρεπιπτόντως ότι ο Ελληνικός πολιτισμός είναι η Ακρόπολη και ο Ιπποκράτης μόνο φανερώνει αμορφωσιά και όχι κάτι καλό για σένα.
Κάποιος μπορεί να πει «οκ αλλά η Ελλάδα δεν είναι μόνο αυτό που δείχνει η Σάττι».
Φυσικά δεν είναι μόνο αυτό. Η Σάττι παρουσιάζει το κομμάτι που ενδιαφέρει την ίδια περισσότερο σαν καλλιτέχνη. Πώς μπορεί ΟΛΗ η Ελλάδα ή ΟΛΟΣ ο πολιτισμός της να είναι σε ένα τρίλεπτο βίντεο; Ακόμα και σε ένα τρίλεπτο με Θεοδωράκη, Χατζηδάκι και Ξαρχάκο ΠΑΛΙ δεν θα ήταν όλη η Ελλάδα. Οπότε και αυτό το επιχείρημα καταρρέει.

I don't hate Switzerland's entry. I don't love it either but it was a good performance, and I can understand why it would have won... However, I don't like how less than halfway through the jury votes it had more points than Sweden at the end of the jury session last year. This reads to me as 'We did the math, we saw what you did for Finland, and we won't let it happen again'. This would absolutely mean that Maneskin was the last true public pick in history, and that we won't see the public decide the winner at all in the foreseeable future. This has another unfortunate and unintended consequence, which is that more voters, just like I this year, are pooling their votes even more onto 1 to 3 entries at most because diluted votes may as well not count... this leads to people essentially betting on the most likely winners, and leaves a lot of good entries in the dirt, without showing them the love they deserve even if they weren't to win. The more they try to fix it, the worse it gets, I truly believe we should just abolish the juries altogether. 'BuT ISraEl woUld haVe beEn 3rD plACe wiThoUT juRies" So what? You're boycotting aren't you?

Bruh, imagine giving a country 12 points several times, just for this country making a mocking song where it implies you as corrupted... What's the goal? To make Lithuania stop giving you high scores? To make Sweden look like a jealous country? What did they want to achieve by this, I genuinely don't understand.

Ignoring the entire shitshow around Eurovision this year, it was pretty solid for music.
Switzerland absolutely deserved to win. The Code is a bop and their performance was my favourite of the evening.
Croatia also was really good. Baby Lasagna has a really strong voice and I really liked the vibes of it overall. Also, he's apparently an Electric Callboy fan, so that's a plus in my book.
Ireland was solid. I don't think I like the song as much as other people, but their staging and the screamo parts of the song were perfection.
On the other hand, Israel got way too many points. I kind of expected it, but it still stings. Like, even if the votes were unpolitical (which is highly doubtful), the song wasn't that good. Lativa had a way better ballad.
A thing I definitely didn't expect though, was Germany being in 12th place. It feels wrong to see us on the left side of the scoreboard. Though it is also funny, because Isaak told a newspaper: "who would want to end up on place 12?" He really jinxed himself with that one.

I have been disappointed in similar way for example when I was hardcore Thirty Seconds to Mars fan and they released Love Lust Faith + Dreams, but I learned to enjoy it and it made me realise that artists make the music for themselves first and fans second. If they feel like exploring and experimenting let them, it’s their art. It’s how they can let out their emotions.
once again, it is okay to dislike the song, but don’t be fucking dick about it.
