SG Earthspark: Not sure what Schloder's plan should actually be, but at least the energon-lifeform killing tower would be involved, and perhaps the mind control badges (imagine Meridian having to fight Shockwave).

Maybe Schloder intends to backstab the Autobots, either of his own initiative or on the US government orders. Maybe the Maltos and Meridian got the truth about the war out, and the government is trying to wash its' hands and pretend they didn't know the truth?? Not sure how you get through such a massive propaganda campaign though, or how do you actually defeat the US government and avoid just being killed by it now or later. Maybe that's season 2, or maybe the government ends up forced to resign because of the revelation and their subsequent attempt to commit genocide?

The tower would probably be more recognizablely technological, if that's the term, than the tower in baseline, at least the vibes and appearance would. The mind control badges make sense to still have, because i too cannot resist the image you're suggesting of controlled!shockwave

I agree on the idea of the sg earthspark government realizing They Fucked Up and chose the wrong side, and instead of doing any possible good they want to kill off the autobots too and sweep it under the rug

Though even if it had worked they'd've needed to balance it out with some serious excuses and even then there'll be people who saw the bullshit as well bullshit. The elections will be all kinds of fragged up from that point on, but considering the sentiment we see shown in drop 2 & 3 and what i know of this country i suspect it'll be easier to send a negative perception of the transformers than anticipated. But, there'd definitely be backlash, especially if like in canon there was previously a campaign to promote the autobots and the alliance. But, i suspect it'll be easier to frame the sg autobots as Bag Guys than it would the baseline autobots.

Alright so I just finished Earthspark and boy fucking howdy do I have opinions, but I’m not talking about those right now because I’m tired and the ending broke me in such a way I no longer care about anything.

What I would like to say though is I think Tanatulas should have been replaced with Shockwave in that on episode he had with Nightshade. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Tanatulas. He was literally so good, I loved his designs and his vibes and the only bad thing about him is that he never said his pronouns back. But really think about it. He didn’t have to be there. Earthspark spends too much time with the Maltos to really develop anyone so the more characters you add the more everything struggles.

Tanatulas showed up for one episode, he’s not even in the finale. Shockwave was there though and vaguely important, but it doesn’t make sense for him to just suddenly be okay with the Maltos. Unless he took Tanatulas role. Then his sudden willingness to help them would have made so much more sense. It also wouldn’t have been a very hard change, just as a whole, because neither Tanatulas or Shockwave are that important.

Just give Nightshade a line about how they should save Shockwave because they trust him and well everyone else acts the same.

Shockwave even fills a similar general role as Tanatulas being a weird scientist who care more about their science than the war. So it really wouldn’t be a hard switch and would make Shockwave make more sense. If you want to go further too Shockwave doesn’t even have a normal vehicle mode so he really could have given similar lines about alt modes to Nightshade.

Obviously Shockwave actual introduction episode would be different or maybe he’d just get replaced entirely but I really don’t think any of those changes would be too hard. Because again, he’s just not important enough for any changes to his character to be hard.

Tanatulas in Earthspark doesn’t validate his existence much as is. I really do love him, but he’s replaceable and just clutters an already poorly handled cast. While I think it would be cool if he was just more important they clearly didn’t want that by not even giving him a finale shot. So I do think just swapping his episode with Shockwave (and whatever other alterations are needed to make that perfect) fixes the problem with having too many underdeveloped characters since it removes one character and in the process developes another.

Yes indeed, he was quite fun to ponder! Thank so much anon, here's some spicy headcanons for Shockwave x Reader!

1. He's the silent type, and that includes most of his bedroom activities as well, but that doesn't mean there's a lack of communication for the two of you. At first he can seem rather detached during interface, but once you get to know him a little better, you start to learn all the subtle signs he's enjoying himself. The quiver in his optic, the strained growls, and the faintest of tremors along his frame are your cues to continue whatever you're doing to him. If you really learn how to work him, you'll be able to earn a low growl when he overloads. He quite likes it when you make noise, despite his own quiet, so feel free to get loud when he's giving you attention. Your noises help him more effectively learn how to please you, and he thoroughly enjoys some good research.

2. He likes to be fully in charge, but isn't necessarily aggressive about it, unless that's what you want. Though he'll never admit it, the fact that you're so small and cute does compel him to be gentle, especially when he's on top and his sizable frame is towering over you. While up there he calls all the shots, turning you over in his servos as if you weigh nothing at all. The dexterity he's developed in the lab gets out to good use.

3. Scientific endeavors are quite appropriate for the bedroom, in his opinion, so expect him to occasionally experiment with some new technology. It's all mostly safe, of course, and he has studied the human body thoroughly to ensure as much. You yourself are his favorite source of data.
