well............... even though they get together super fast as teenagers. i wouldnt say they were ever in love...

i think baxk then it was mostly murdoc looking for a consistent place for sex LOL sorry to bring that up but it is his nature.

and batty is just kind of like. well. i like him and hes my friend. and i guess i like doing these things with him. but i dont really because i feel objectified. so she never really loved what was going on. and i dont even think she really loved him THAT MUCH as a friend when they were teens. because it was really just... they were the only ones no one else wanted

so yes its definitely a slow burn....... it takes decades for them to like actually acknowledge that maybe um its more than just sexual attraction.... and they do love each other kind of... even though it isnt like normal romance at all in the slightest. its perfect for them though ☝️

no nicknames 😭 even though batty is a nickname murdoc gave her that stuck . other than that and shortened versions of their names... and "love" and "darling" and whatever else . thats it. deffo no flowery pet names LOL

murdoc would want to brag about it but batty is deeply ashamed of herself so she insists it gets kept secret and Erm well ☝️ self ship lore in coming ☝️

on plastic beach they start hooking up again but its way worse than every other time because its on Plastic Beach. and they get much closer to each other than batty wants to be and their relationship toes so many lines and batty HATES ITTTTTTT and obvi she doesnt want ANYOEN to know about it

but ☝️ murdoc ☝️ in an interview after plastic beach is over ☝️ lets his loose lips sink ships and he kind of just publicly humiliates batty out of pettiness because she stopped fucking him after pb By talking about like every fling they ever had with rach other. and batty gets rightfully very angry. so thats why they dont talk at all during phase 4. <- very simplified bc i can not be arsed to type every little thing but yeargh

RIGHT so the pirate au

well it's nothing very original don't get your hopes up or anything BUT. basically it's mainly lmancrew (with a crimeboys focus) and tntduo centered and it's set in like a medieval-esque fictional setting like basically six of crows minus the magic. like i literally typed six of crows into pinterest to get good images those are the vibes

wilbur's captain of this ship called the l'manberg (ok no but i hesitated between naming the fish or their og town lmanburg but i ended up naming the ship that because i just think it's such a good ship name like . she/her in a boat way. does this make sense) and the crew is niki, jack, eret, fundy and tubbo (well obviously theres more people cause how would a ship Function but the rest of those are Unnamed background characters).

wilbur's also a pretty high ranked official like idk general or captain of the guard idk how the military works i would have to figure that out, but basically he's kinda famous and so's his ship. they aren't participating in a war it's more of like an explorer position because wilbur's known for being a brilliant cartographer and so the previous king just kinda appointed him to this new position to let him fuck off & do his own thing mapping the whole world with his crew. the issue is the old king died with no heir and replaced by his nephew (dream) who's much more controlling and power-hungry than he was and who doesn't want to waste money & resources on some bs like maps. this will create Conflict (im so good at narration guys. Help)

tommy's like a homeless orphan (as he alwyas is) and really needs a job and money and all that and he hears the l'manburg isn't at sea for once and wilbur & his crew are taking a rest at the capital for a couple days before sailing back off again. naturally he sneaks in, lives in the storage room for like a week or two, surviving off scraps of food . then tubbo stumbles across him and almost reports him, but tommy convinces him not to and so tubbo helps him for a couple days. then someone else finds him, and he's brought to the captain and they all threaten to throw the stowaway overboard (they wouldn't actually they're all kinda softies) and tommy's like pissing himself from how scared he is especially cause wilbur's like . this really famous general who's had books and songs written about him and shit (he doesn't know yet hes just an annoying pretentious prick (/lovingly)) so he's like Ohmygod im dead and then wilbur's like . "Can you cook" "erm no" "can you clean" "yeah ig" "Can you fight even somewhat decently" "yeah bitch me and my knives are the best they call me th-" "Ok you're hired" AND THUS tommy joins the crew

and so they keep on sailing with their mission yadda yadda and WHAM they encounter the most notorious pirate crew of the continent, named, you guessed it, las nevadas. and tommy's heard a lot of proper horror stories about them and he's terrified but the crew have fought them off a bunch of times before so they're mainly annoyed because they're gonna have to deal with the frankly disgustingly homoerotic rivalry that their captain and the pirate captain have been passionately engaging in for several years now. THATS RIGHT TNTDUO BABY oh they are so pathetic and so gay it's actually embarrassing they'll have like sword duels . wilbur's the uptight, bitchy, and somewhat pretentious general with perfectly styled hair and ornate coat always huffing and puffing and waxing poetry meanwhile quackity's the fuckin bad boy stereotype with like a half unbuttoned poet or blackshirt (slut) (wilbur cannot stop staring its embarrassing) and he's always hanging off ropes and shit and doing sick acrobatics and taunting wilbur GOD they're so. and yeah they have sword duels where all they do is "distract the opponent" in order to "efficiently win the battle" which is code for "practically make out while hurling insults at each other"

also crimeboys is like "in awe of the legendary general" "who is this child on my boat" >>> "oh my god the general's a prick" "oh my god the child's a demon" >>> "maybe he's not that bad but i would rather die and curse his entire family line than admit that" >>> "that is my brother i would die for him and if you lay a hand upon him you won't have hands anymore" (the funny thing is they both end up with that same level of protectiveness and making the same threats despite wilbur being a like Adult and high ranked official with power and influence and decades of training of elaborate swordsmanship behind him . and tommy is a stowaway fifteen year old orphan with three knives and teeth and a whole lot of anger . but they're both like "no i must protect and die for the other" im sorry i just love them ok theyre so stupid) i just LOVE crimeboys having to go through begrudging bonding instead of instantly being ride or die brothers GIVE ME TO MORE ENEMIES TO FRIENDS TO LOVERS anyway

also we also get emerald duo in the form of them being co-captains (please pretend that is a thing i know Nothing about anything ever) of this other ship and they're like independent merchants or whatever idk i have not figured out that whole bit yet MY POINT IS they're not affiliated with anyone they just sorta do their own thing and only help people if they want to or are indebted . they help out wilbur sometimes cause he's a dumbass

speaking of wilbur like i said he's had books and songs written about him (his age is kind of a grey zone like on one hand he's pretty young for a general but he's also had time to become this like famous and mysterious figure so can't be Too young . so i think probably like 27-29? smth like that) and one of them was a legend about how he fell in love with a mermaid . yes she had red hair and teal scales and her name was sally BUT SHE'S STILL AN OCEAN MERMAID I KNOW SALMONS LIVE IN RIVERS anyway . also for little tntduo crumbs he's called quackity a siren multiple times (in his mind he's insulting him like "ooh you manipulate people" and everyone around him is like "that is the Gayest thing you could possibly have said") and quackity's like "didnt you date a mermaid" "yeah but sirens are like evil mermaids" "so you want to date me" and then wilbur stabs him

ALSO more about wilbur's character development (this is a bit spoilerish but also it's not like im ever writing this full fic so you're not exactly risking much but just be warned) he starts out like i said as this really uptight military official who started when he was really young and trained really hard and flew through the ranks really fast because he worked his ass off . And so he's Very protective of his rank & title & prestige not so much because he's snobbish but because he worked so hard for it but so it often comes across as him being this like pretentious fuck (well he's also pretentious but thats just wilbur) . also he originally dreamed of being a cartographer and he spent his whole childhood drawing up maps but then he realised he couldn't make a living out of that so he decided to work hard enough to be at the top and then do what he wanted. and so he wears like his tricorn hat with a feather and his ornate coat and neatly tucked in shirt and everything cause for him it's like Proof that he Did it yknow . but then as time goes by, especially in the presence of quackity (who's very antihero-esque and so does not give a shit about ranks or whatever he's a pirate he does his own thing) and also a bit tommy (who was literally dressed in rags until they clothed and fed him but still behaves like a street rat on the most famous ship of the country) he slowly loosens up and he ends up ditching the coat and the hat and instead wears more stuff like loose poet shirts (open because he's a slut) . and so yeah character development through clothing and whatnot

ok so YEAH those are the tidbits that were plaguing my mind the most but there's definitely a whole lot more in my head like ive got a pinterest board and shit

HENRY T. EMILY (HE/HIM) ; A rather closed in and quiet man, a striking difference to his business partner. When not working, he's a father to twins, Charlotte & Samuel Emily!

ANJELA M. AFTON (SHE/HER) ; Mrs. Afton! The loving and cheerful wife to Mr. Afton. Her cheerful demeanor seems to brighten up a room at times, which comes in handy in her job as a nurse!

LORAINE EMILY (SHE/HER) ; Mrs. Emily! Shes a bit on the shy side, but is Anjelas best friend! Shes currently unemployed, but that doesnt mean she isnt a hardworker!

MICHAEL D. AFTON (HE/HIM) ; A 12 year old who tends to get into trouble sometimes. He gets annoyed by his younger siblings sometimes, especially his little brother, but who doesnt?

EVAN S. AFTON (HE/HIM) ; Mr. & Mrs. Aftons middle son! He has a bright future ahead of him and tries his best to be nice to others! He thinks his older brother is super cool though, despite him being only a year older than him, which can sometimes get in the way of his attempts at being a good kid.

CRYING CHILD (HE/THEY) ; The youngest son in the Afton Family, being 10. He's rather sensitive and quiet, but that doesn't seem to bother his energetic best friend, Charlie! He doesn't have many friends, but he doesn't mind. He also gets called a lot of funny nicknames, which makes it hard for people to remember what his real name is. I'm sure someone will figure it out someday.

CHARLOTTE J. EMILY (SHE/HER) ; Crying Childs BFF!!! Shes super energetic and fun to be around! Her favorite animatronic is Fredbear, or at least it is for now! She also thinks her twin brother is an alien, but thats a story for another day.

SAMUEL EMILY (HE/HIM) ; Charlie Emilys twin brother! He likes typical (HUMAN) boy things, like any other 11 year old!

ELIZABETH M. AFTON (SHE/HER) ; The oldest daughter in the Afton Family! She LOVES all things pink, ponies, and flowers. Also makeup! and clowns, surprisingly. She normally hangs out with her BFF Susie or with her dad, though it's mostly her sitting in his office while he works.

ABIGAIL S. AFTON (SHE/HER) ; The baby of the Afton Family! Shes a baby. erm not much info abt her yet!

SUSIE FITZGERALD (SHE/HER) ; Elizabeths best friend!!! HORSE GIRL 100000%. Shes very protective of her toys, especially her Freddys ones! She only lets Elizabeth touch them, and even then she watches her at all times.

SPRING BONNIE (ANY PRONOUNS) ; An animatronic rabbit! What more could you ask for? He's basically Fredbears other half! This type of animatronic doubles as a suit that can be worn by employees, though he's mostly worn by Mr. Afton!

FREDBEAR (HE/HIM) ; An animatronic bear! The main star of the show! This type of animatronic doubles as a suit that can be worn by employees, though he's mostly worn by Mr. Emily!

What is your opinion on poly quartet?

WHO is the anon slowly asking for my opinion on all the yuukei quartet ships. i have a nagging suspicion its the same person

1. is that its ship name??? thats lame it should be poly yuukei. like...quartet is a very generic word. that could be anything

2.(actual answer) its CUTE and i support it 👍👍👍 as for my personal opinion i dont rly ship it or care for it a lot tho. cuz if i dont get in the nitty gritty of everything i die and pass away so to me its not as simple as omg the 4 of them are dating. like in there there are SIX relationship dynamics to consider that have to not only work on their own but with all the others too to make the 1, yknow.

i obviously ship harutaka and shinaya, but for the other ones i truthfully dont care for haruaya or harushin in a romantic way (ive answered their own asks lol) and i dont see shintaka working out in any good way in the long run even if i do like it a lil bit! the only one i can see genuinely working out and being cute is ayataka (like with shinaya and harutaka also at play cuz were talking abt a polycule) but i... don't care enough abt that ship when compared to shinaya and ESPECIALLY harutaka to consider it a lot. like ayataka requires being a little delusional because they barely have a good established dynamic together other than. yep theyre friends. and thats not to diss on it bc i LOVE being delusional and i LOVE when people are delusional about ships like FUCKKKK YEAHHH but HERE particularly i myself dont care enough to BE delusional. you get what im saying??? i still think theyre cute though but honest to god their biggest appeal to me is that its gay. like sorry i am a lesbian and i 100%admit the only appeal to ayataka to me is that theyre gay. lol. thats why i dont particularly care for it anyways. the most poly i can ship is shintaro+takane+ayano but haruka is out of it only dating takane and tragically rejecting shintaro and ayano. SORRY thats a funny concept to me.

GahHh my heart! 🥹 I just finished reading the backstory of your account.

I too have had online friends that disappear, and got busy with life. I can totally relate to that. It’s sad to see their accounts get seemingly abandoned. I hope they are doing well too.

Furthermore, I can tell you were a wonderful friend to them! It warmed my heart to see how much you care about them. 🤧 gah! I need to find myself friends like you.

I also read fics on every platform possible XD. I started out on wattpad in 2017, and I’ve been reading fics for 6 years now. I actually had written fics on wattpad and tumblr myself. Not for LMK though- for another fandom I’m in. I mostly spend my time drawing and reading, but perhaps I’ll get back into writing again. Who knows 👀.

Ps: You have to try peaches! The monkey man has good taste- Trust the monkey! Well, then again, I grew up canning peaches with my late mother, so perhaps I’m biased 😅. Also, ‘Mooncakes’ as a ship name is adorable, especially for Macaque.

ok so firstly i havent rlly dived into corkscrew rules so im not entirely caught up with shtopors lore (that is, if he has any more than the stuff i alr know) so i *might* be characterizing him wrong. if i am then whoopsie doodles

anywho i think its a rlly cute dynamic. shtopor is a big strong man with a tough exterior and a pretty intimidating aura, while movie dude is totally different in almost every way possible. he's literally just a dude. (pun intended) like hes just ur average joe but for some reason shtopor is like "omg i need him NEOW"

maybe its bcuz of just how opposing mdude is personality wise. he thinks things through and actually comes up with a plan, unlike shtopor, who usually rushes into something head first and without much thought. also he thinks mdude is like. rlly handsome. bro prolly kicks his feet and twirls his hair while thinking about him :P

these two would be ALL OVER each other whenever given the chance. shtopor is hardly ever seen without mdude practically attached to his hip. they go everywhere together too i think. mdude goes with him to the gym and just sits there watching shtopor work out like "wowie O_O"

also mdude would absolutely melt whenever shtopor talks in russian. he obviously doesnt understand it, but just hearing it is enough to make him go all giddy. shtopor could say something as simple as "it's your turn to take the trash out" and mdude would be like "siiiiiiiigh you're sooo dreamy.."

this can also go for nicknames/pet names too. mdude is an absolute sucker for them. shtopor has a bunch for him, mainly in russian obvi.

A Watch (Isaac) X Yandere SCP-035 fanfic

cw: yandere behavior, 035 being an obsessive mf, mentions of dead ppl, 035 is a warning himself, using masculine pronouns for both, 035 kills watch’s beloved(?), not proof read

Word Count-1.5k

(A/N) Yep, ended up doin’ this out of pure boredom, read it or not, your choice. Unless, of course, you’re against the ship.

Another day. A regular day in this odd and unpredictable building. A breach broke loose just about two days ago, and the MTF were just barely capturing the Keter class SCPs who had managed to escape. Watch was in his office, looking down upon the pile of documents on his desk. Oh how he longed to be elsewhere, but for now, he’ll have to remain here.

Jacobs walked into his office, not showing any emotion, as usual.

“Do you need anything Jacobs?”

“Ah, well… the 05 council wants you to.. interview the mask again. And before you get mad at me and argue, I’ve tried about every way to stop them, but they don’t seem to listen.”

“… When will the interview commence?..”

”Tomorrow, if we manage to successfully contain the thing.”

Watch just stared at the wall, trying not to think about the last interaction it had before. Not the best thing to think of.

“Alright..”

Jacobs walked out of his office, feeling sympathetic at the poor man who looked distressed, even more so with the interview. He couldn’t do anything about it though, he would maybe lose his job if so.

Watch just stared more intensely at the documents ahead. Not wanting to think about the mask, he swiftly grabbed the documents and started reading. Although the reading did take his mind off of him for a bit, after putting the papers away did he feel that gut-wrenching feeling in his stomach bubble up again. Uh-oh, the lights started to flicker in the office. Thats 𝑫𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒚 not a great sign.

Watch with all possible haste hid between the hole of his desk and chair. The door opened with that of mechanical sounds. Heart thumping in his ears, mind racing a mile a minute. The door closed as soon as it was open. Watch just stayed still, and lowered his breathing so nobody would think anyone was even in there. Footsteps grew closer and closer.

That was until they suddenly backed away to the door. A horrified voice spoke.

“Is-Is anyone here by chance??.. please, I don’t want to be alone..!..”

Watch slowly, but efficiently moved his head from the hiding spot he was in. And wouldn’t you know it, an injured researcher looked around for any sign of life. As they were about to leave, Watch quickly spoke a hey! before he shuffled into their sight of view.

“Do you need help? Especially with those gashes-“

“Oh yes! I don’t recall what had injured me, but I’m sure it was a weird mask. Preferably subject number 035. And, judging by your name tag, you’re.. erm, Watch?”

Watch just stared at the wounds, and noticed the weird black secretion the mask secretes. He then said yes to their assumption about who he was.

He grabbed some rubbing alcohol, and well, rubbed it into the wound. He couldn’t help but shake a little. That thing had touched this poor researcher. Its tentacles, really. He ignored the hissing noises from them. Grabbing the bandages, he wrapped it around their leg, tight enough so it won’t fall, but not too tight that they’ll lose blood circulation in the leg.

“Better?”

“Affirmative.”

They trailed out of Watch’s office, and began roaming the blood-soaked walls of halls. Seeing the corpses of people here and there. They didn’t pay any mind to them, no. They just walked past them. They’re already dead, so no point in mourning over them lol.

They came to a halt when they spotted the tall, slim, and pale body of a sobbing 096. It was covered from head to toe with a decent amount of blood. They didn’t dare look at its face, knowing the consequences of doing such a thing. They fled from the scene, spotting a dead MTF in front of it while escaping. Yet another life taken.

’Gosh, did Jacobs really just walk in and out to this scene?’ That answer was obvious, yes, but it left him feeling bad for him. They didn’t get along well, but that didn’t stop him from feeling sympathetic. ‘No. No mushy feelings. This is a time of survival, and nothing else.’

Golly, this hall seemed to never end. Walking, walking, and the occasional dash from a dangerous SCP. Over, and over, and over again. Watch hadn’t notice the researcher grabbing his hand until he looked down and saw it for himself. Blush flushed his cheeks lightly. He never really felt intimate with anyone, and yet, here he was, holding hands with a supposed stranger.

“Are you well, sir?”

“Yes… just.. it's nothing.”

“If you say so..”

“Wait- Is that gate-b?? C’mon! Let’s check it out right now!!!”

So.. excited.. an emotion Watch wasn’t really able to experience during his lifetime. Well, best to comply and follow to make them happy.

“Halt! Halt right now! Don’t you DARE think you can escape. I’ll kill both of you.”

Both stood still in their tracks, scared for their lives. Not once did they turn back, but they did look at each other with terror. The hand holding tightened.

“Hey, mind turning around for me? I’d like to see who you guys are!~”

Watch quickly got a sense of who this maniacal “person,” was. Of course, he didn’t obliged, scared of the aftermath of the last incident. However, the warmth of a hand that held his cold one disappeared. This did bother him a bit.

“Oh goodness! It’s you isn’t it? The one I hadn’t finished my business with. Well, best to start early, aren’t I right!”

Watch suddenly realized what he had said and turned so quickly, that he might as well had done a 360 turn. He stood, silently holding his partner’s hand. Not once did he think he’d meet up with him.

The SCP lowered his tentacles which he was about to use to brutally kill the other researcher with. He came closer, and closer until he was right in front of Watch, who shuddered with his stone gaze only on him.

“Watchie? Oh, how I’ve longed to see you for the longest of times. But this foolish foundation hadn’t let me. It took a bit of convincing for them to let me talk with you.”

Watch backed away, placing the researcher behind his back, attempting to shield them from any attacks he would bestow upon them. 035’s “face” changed into tragedy, opting that he was in a relationship with this researcher.

“So, who might this be, love? Are they your significant other?”

“N-no, we were just trying to-“

“Trying to what? Escape together, and become a family? And in my face… you adulterer..”

Watch couldn’t come to talk whatsoever. This was a new side of the mask he never once thought would happen. Yet it occurred. And boy it wasn’t good. Although he couldn't help but be a tad flustered with him saying they were going to be a family.

“What.. what are you even saying??”

“No matter, you’ll learn soon… Now you.”

035 faced the other researcher who hid behind his back. Watch held them closer. Chest to back. This was embarrassing, but the only way to protect them.

“Oh ho-ho! You’re really trying to get on my nerves. And it’s working, so, beware Watchie!”

A tendril shot up from the floor.

“You wouldn’t dare-“

“Oh yes I would, and nobody can really stop me. This is the only way you’ll recognize how we were meant to be. None of this would’ve happened if you didn’t decide to be with this pesky creature. I’ll just eliminate them.”

The black tendril shot towards them, but Watch took the blow instead, in the hand specifically. Wincing in pain, his hand retracted quickly as he grabbed it in pain. He took a few more blows before falling to the ground in defeat. His partner only looked at him with terror, before being struck with the tendril in the chest. Clutching their chest in pain, and fell to the ground as Watch did.

“No! 035! Stop this instance!”

“Not until you return the love I’ve held for you.. you’re special.. managing to catch me at my most vulnerable state.”

035 had wrapped a tendril delicately around Watch’s waist. He moved Watch towards him, whilst Watch was trying to escape the tendril’s grip on him.

Watch could only watch them be brutally beaten, basically shredding them apart. He could hear some bones shattering in the process. Despair washed over him, and he felt tears prickle at his eyes before they came streaming down. Not an emotion he often feels. In just a short amount of time had he felt both love and grief.

“Stop.. please.”

“I’m sure they’ve learnt their lesson, so I’ll oblige.”

The grip on him left with a slither. He went up to look at his, once partner, whose corpse was everything but what they looked like once before. It had Watch’s insides churning in disgust. But he still held the finger which used to remain on a hand.

“I’m.. sorry.”

A hand snaked onto Watch’s hand. He looked up at him. Frowning, clearly,

“C’mere you..”

He pulled Watch up to engulf him in a hug.

“You smell peculiar. Blood and shampoo.. how nice.”

Watch didn’t return the hug, but 035 was persistent, making Watch wrap both his arms around him, hugging him back. This made Watch want to throw up. He would argue against the mask, but right now, he was too traumatized to care.

035 lifted Watch up, holding him in a bridal lift.

“Let’s leave this hell hole now, shall we?”

Oh boy, do I have thoughts on her!

Favorite thing about them: I like her design, both human and monster. But I really like her level. The music that plays when you’re approaching the manor? Amazing build-up. The music that plays when you’re inSIDE the manor? Spooky. When she’s near and when shes right by you?? Perfectly makes you go “OH SHIT!!” And the music when you’re in the room with the time piece has this feeling to it I can’t rlly describe. The track is called “You’re Safe Now” and I think it does a really good job of making the player actually feel like it. Honestly her music alone makes it one of my favorite levels in the game!! sorry now I’m just talking more about music than I am the actual character dhfhhdgdgdh

Least favorite thing: uhhh pretty much everything else. I’ve never really cared for the whole violently obsessive type character (Thats just a whole other can of worms for me) and canonically she’s that, if not worse. ALSO it’s really unsettling to me that in Princes letter to her he calls her by name (“My Dearest Vanessa”) but in all of her stuff she only ever refers to him as her prince. Even when writing about becoming Queen she said “now THE prince can’t call me his princess.”

Favorite Line: “I’m jealous of that darn bacon! He loves it! No more bacon in this house!” Just because of how ridiculous it is.

Random Headcanon: she misses how things used to be, not bc she regrets what she did, but because she misses having people/subjects who liked and admired her (bc judging by the storybook her people loved her!!! One of them even had a little flower wreath thingy for her when she came into the village. Which is kind of ironic bc flowers were part of what started the whole mess) ((and of course she misses her prince))

Also for a funnier headcanon I like to think the reason you don’t see her in Chapter 5/ Mustache Girl’s level is because Mu had already judged her before Hat Kid arrived. She Took one look at her and was like “erm… bad guy”

Unpopular opinion: I really don’t like her but. She’s fun to write about and draw stuff of. There’s a lot of stuff like the notes/letters in the manor that give insight into what she was thinking and it makes her interesting. I don’t mind if people like her, either. I know there are people who do and I’m ok with that.

But Who Could Love Me? (Rimmer x Reader) - Chapter 5

A/N: Chapter 6 should be up soon! :)

Warnings: none really just the usual fluff!

Summary: Basically giving Rimmer the love he deserves :P

“I know you’re not particularly fond of him but we should say hello?” You spoke softly as Rimmer slowly looked up at you.

“That’s one way of putting it” Rimmer groaned, refusing to move.

“Come on, the quicker we go, the quicker it’s over with” You smiled sweetly as you held out your hands for him, gently pulling him up as he held them in his.

“Why are you making me do this?” Rimmer asked as you reached the lift.

“Because it’s the polite thing to do!” You smiled as you hit the buttons on the inside before saying where you were going “Landing bay please!”

“You know who you’re talking to right?” A small smirk appeared on Rimmers face as he spoke.

“Oh I know, the smegger that is Arnold Judas Rimmer! ...but lucky for him I love him!” You replied as you turned to face him.

“You love me?” Rimmer looked at you stunned, despite the sneaking around and kissing each other at every given opportunity he’d never actually heard you say those words, he’d never heard anyone say those words to him ...not even his parents.

“Well I thought it was obvious” You laughed softly, gently cupping his face in your hands.

“No one has ever told me they love me” Rimmer’s eyes dropped to the floor.

“I love you Arnie” You smiled sweetly, standing on your tiptoes to place a gentle kiss to his lips feeling him smile beneath.

You didn’t expect him to respond, you definitely didn’t expect him to say the words back, not yet anyway but you knew eventually when he was ready he would. As he stood in front you fidgeting and unable to stay still you knew he was worrying about it.

“Hey, you don’t have to say it back if you’re not ready too” You spoke softly, placing one last kiss to his lips as the lift doors opened “Lets get this over with”

As you walked down the corridor towards the landing bay you couldn’t help but notice Rimmer’s hand brushing against yours, his fingers subtly trying to entwine with yours, making your heart flutter as you surrendered hopelessly to the smile forming on your face. Rimmer knew that even if he couldn’t say the words, there were other ways he could show you until then, just like when he protected you earlier when the dwarf was under attack.

Just as you reached the last turn for the landing bay you felt Rimmer’s hand slowly yet reluctantly fall from yours, running his thumb across the back of your hand before letting go. Upon entering the landing bay you were almost blinded by the glare bouncing off the shiny spacesuit that was being worn by the one and only Ace Rimmer.

“There he is, how you doing Arn?” Ace grinned as Rimmer practically shut down next you.

“I’ve been better” Rimmer groaned as you nudged him gently.

“Cheer up” You whispered as Rimmer’s lips started to curl slightly.

“And who’s the lovely lady?” Ace picked up your hand as he spoke, leaning down to place a kiss but changing his mind as Rimmer scowled at him “What’s your name?”

“Y/N! I’ve heard a lot about you” You smiled, trying to be polite to Ace and keep Rimmer calm at the same time was going to be a struggle.

“Well depending on who you heard it from, all good I hope” Ace chuckled as you heard a low grumble from Rimmer who was purposely trying to keep Ace away from you.

“Rimmer, you ok man?” Lister asked.

“I’m fine” Rimmer mumbled, he was far from fine and his mind was in overdrive.

“So Arnie, been up to anything?” Ace asked, trying to fill the awkward silence that was starting to brew.

“Of course not” Rimmer refused to look at Ace:

“Hey you saved Cat and Lister from that Gelf ship?” You smiled giving him another nudge.

“No he didn’t” Lister sniggered.

“Lister shut up!” You spoke sternly.

“Alright I’m sorry” Lister threw his hands up.

“You’ve kept this rust bucket going somehow” You smiled at Rimmer who’s eyes were glued to floor and who’s mind was on another planet.

“Yeah after he fried the crew” Lister mumbled.

“LISTER!” You shouted as Rimmer walked out.

“I think that’s enough skipper” Ace looked at Lister as he spoke before turning to you “Shall we go for a walk?”

“Erm sure” You replied confused as you made your way back down the corridor you had just walked down hand in hand with Rimmer.

Once you had got far enough away from the others Ace looked back behind him before talking to you.

“I see Arnie finally got a break” Ace smirked as you raised an eyebrow at him.

“What do you mean?” You didn’t not like Ace but you could understand why Rimmer wasn’t fond of him.

“You and Arn have something going on” Ace spoke quietly incase of any eavesdroppers.

“How did you know?” You stared at him in panic.

“I could tell as soon as you walked in and what with the way Arnie was almost standing between us” Ace explained “I’m surprised the others haven’t figured it out”

“Well Kryten’s a mech and I don’t think his Mech Dev has covered that yet and as for Lister and Cat, they share a brain cell between them” You laughed a little “Well a brain cell they probably borrowed from Krytes”

“I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that” Ace chuckled.

“I better go find Rimmer and make sure he’s ok” You sighed.

“You really do care about him” Ace grinned as your cheeks blushed and your eyes fell to the floor “He’s lucky!”

“I think I’m the lucky one Ace” You smiled as Ace gave you a ‘don’t be daft’ look.

Assuming Rimmer would be at his normal spot on the observation dome, you were completely startled as you walked past your quarters hearing rustling from inside.

“Holly can you open the door please?” You asked as the door opened swiftly “Hey what are you doing in here?”

There he was, sitting in your bunk reading one of your books and you couldn’t help but smile.

“Sorry I just wanted to go somewhere quiet where I wouldn’t be bothered” Rimmer panicked slightly.

“Arnie it’s fine, don’t worry” You smiled as you walked in with Ace following behind you.

“What do you want?” And with that Rimmer’s sour mood had returned.

“He just wanted to make sure you’re ok” You explained as you sat down next to Rimmer “Ace knows by the way”

“Knows about what?” Rimmer’s nostrils flared as he spoke.

“About us” You tried to remain calm but you could feel the tension radiating from him sitting next to you.

“You told Ace?” Rimmer almost looked heartbroken as if you had broken a promise.

“Hey don’t take your anger out on Y/N? It’s me you’ve got a problem with” Ace replied firmly and calmly, not that it was in Rimmer’s nature to fist fight.

“He figured it out” You sighed “and he’s not going to tell anyone ...right Ace?”

“If that’s what you want?” Ace kept his distance “Y/N do you mind if I have word alone with Arnie?”

“Sure” You smiled as you got up to leave, a look of worry in Rimmer’s eyes as he thought about the prospect of being left alone with Ace.

“So how did you figure it out?” Rimmer groaned as he put the book his was reading down.

“Arnie?” Ace could tell Rimmer was trying to start an argument.

“You’re probably going to sweep her away anyway” Rimmer spat as Ace shook his head, technically they were the same person just from different universes but they couldn’t have been anymore different from each other, almost two completely different beings.

“Why would I do that?” Ace leaned against the wall beside the bunks.

“You always do, you have a way with people” Rimmer screwed up his nose, sitting on the edge of your bunk with his elbows on his knees and his face in his palms.

“Well Arn, I don’t think you have much to worry about” Ace smiled as he looked down at Rimmer.

“It’ll happen it always does” Rimmer grumbled, adamant that you were going to be stolen away from him by Ace, the ‘superior’ version of himself.

“The only person Y/N is interested in is you” Ace spoke softly.

“Why do you even care?” Rimmer looked up at Ace with a scowl.

“Because you’ve got something good, something that I’ve never had” Ace kept his focus across the room as he spoke.

“What?” Rimmer asked almost speechless.

“I know in your eyes I’m the one that got all the breaks, all the good things but you’ve got love” Ace explained “But I guess thats what happens when you devote all your time to your career”

“You’re telling me?” Rimmer muttered.

“You’ve got something great there Arnie, don’t mess it up!” Ace’s voice dropped lower.

“She told me she loved me earlier and I froze up” Rimmer confessed, in disbelief that he was actually about to ask his alter ego for relationship advice “I couldn’t even say it back”

“You don’t have to Arnie, she already knows” Ace smiled “I saw the way she looked at you earlier and the way you watched her as she left”

“Really?” Rimmer was struggling to believe anything Ace was saying.

“As they say actions speak louder than words” Ace grinned before looking at his watch “At 1900 I’ll take the boys out for a trip ...give you two some time alone”

“Why are you being nice to me?” Rimmer scoffed.

“Take her on a date, show Y/N how much she means to you?” Ace completely ignored Rimmer’s reaction.

“And how do you suppose I do that?” Rimmer rolled his eyes “This rust bucket isn’t exactly the ideal date scene”

“You’ll think of something, she’ll love it regardless” Ace replied, clearly only you could really get through to Rimmer.

“Why am I taking relationship advice from you?” Rimmer sighed.

“What have you got to lose Arn?” Aces voice was low as he spoke.

Ace’s last sentence rang riot in Rimmer’s ears. What did he really have to lose? Ace was right, that no matter what Rimmer did you’d love him and therefore was nothing, he had nothing to lose.
