I decided to do a three-minute challenge: use a wheel, pick a sans, look up their design, look at it for a few seconds, and try to draw them in that time. Here's how it went!

It actually wasn't so bad; I may do it where I have to look at the design for a few seconds and cannot look back at it again till I'm done. dunno. It was fun! (edit: oh also not all of the designs are canon compliant. For example, i gave outer sans star freckles and a swirly skull cause i thought it fit lol)

i'm going to be real with you guys for a moment. i don't think i'll continue following bsd much after this point

#i take back what i said about being excited for what's to come. i mean i am. in a very general impersonal way.#but the way the series is going. if the ending of the anime is going to be followed by the manga in a similar direction #is just very different from the silly armed detective agency vs port mafia authors with superpowers slightly high-stakes slice of life #that i originally signed up for. i've felt this way the whole decay of angels arc and just stuck around to see what happens #and because i care about the characters. bsd was always a character-focused manga for me #but the direction it seems to be taking is this massive epic entire-world-at-stake military scifi drama #where super epic power-up style ability weapons (and one-off overpowered nameless ability users are introduced and killed off in the same #scene. like the time manipulation catgirl) take the forefront at the expense of actual character focus and character development #like why are most of the (original) cast completely unaccounted for in what was meant to be a satisfying ending.#did asagiri forget that atsushi is the main character. why did tachihara's and sigma's arcs get cut short like that.#and frankly i feel like bsd started to take this direction from storm bringer onwards. the focus and scope of it is very different #to for example the untold origins or dazai's entrance exam or even 55 minutes. but if i were to theorise i would say that the scope of #the current direction of bsd must have started germinating during the 55 minutes light novel. if you can see what i mean #anyway more importantly i find that the tone is now entirely different from early bsd. it's just not the series that i fell in love with #so i think it's best that i stop here before letting it turn sour like jujutsu kaisen is to me now.#i have the manga (and anime) that i can reread (rewatch) up to the perfect crime arc whenever i want #i can reread the sskk fight of volume 20 whenever i want. i can revisit sigma and nikolai's chapters. there's wan. there's the light novels #and there's the wonderful fanfics and fanart and so many metas to read. that's what brings me joy more than the series itself nowadays.#that's all. end of era i guess. to an extent

More Random/Useless Muse Facts

Did they believe in Santa?: Not for a single moment. He questioned the reality of the man’s existence since first hearing about it, and had conducted experiments to prove his theory. When he told his parents what he wanted, he got it. When he kept it a secret, he never got what he truly wanted. Doflamingo didn’t gloat about it, though, as to not take away the joy of his younger brother.

Were they a dinosaur or rock kid?: Dinosaur. He enjoyed everything history related, and they looked cool.

Bugs or slimy critters?: Bugs.

Do they fidget? How?: No, almost never at all. Doflamingo tends to always keep his composure, however, or rare occasions when things aren’t going his way and the plan will blow up in his face, he bites his nails. It’s a habit he developed in early teens and had broken, but in extreme stressful situations, it resurfaces.

What were they frequently in trouble for as a child?: All kinds of things. Doflamingo was a troublemaker with curiosity to explore things deemed illegal or immoral by society, so fights, theft and underage drinking were only to name a few.

What underwear do they like?: Boxer-briefs and boxers. He will switch them around depending on his mood or activities that day.

Designs on clothing or no?: Doflamingo doesn’t care about designs on his clothing and also doesn’t mind them at all. If he likes it, he will buy it.

Birthmarks?: None.

Do they have good self control?: A quite good self-control. For the most part Doflamingo will remain in full control of himself, but he is able to get shaken out of it. If his buttons are pressed and he’s angry, that control starts slipping away. He’ll always try to get back to full control, though, the moment he feels himself slipping.

Favorite franchise?: None. He doesn’t watch many movies or TV shows. He’s more keen on reading books.

Do they re-enact scenarios in the shower?: Sometimes. He will either have a partner with him so it won’t be needed, or if he’s alone, he may simply think of it and chuckle to himself.

Do they tell the waiter that their order is wrong?: Yes, absolutely. He doesn’t play pretend and act like it’s his order to not hurt feelings. He straight out says it as it is — that they’ve fucked up.

Stairs or elevator?: Elevators, be it for the comfort, to not waste energy going to a higher floor, to tease the person with him and create sexual tension, or for the sex. Some elevator sex is always nice, even though rare.

Are they an exaggerator when telling stories?: Yes. He makes all the stories a drama play. He’d fit in well in Ancient Greece.

While it doesn't entirely address all of the issues with how Passione is handled canonically, I think Testimone Di Gangster takes a more grounded approach if that's something you're interested in. I won't go too into details since I'm unsure if you've read it yet, but I will say that it doesn't glorify certain Passione members as more honourable or, err, whatever a gang-star is, even if it's from the perspective of a Passione member.

Testimone Di Gangster has been on my list to check out for a while now, but it kind of slipped my mind after I finished Purple Haze Feedback (and then of course Invader Zim... happened)- thank you for reminding me that I do need to read it. I do love it when Passione is expanded upon beyond the vague and loose information we get in VA, so Testimone Di Gangster sounds promising.
