i dont wanna decide on a career unfortunately everyone wants me to soso bad

#i have to have it in. checks watch. 6 months maximum :)#just because i want biomedical something its what im good at and i cant not help people #like thats not some hero complex thing if o dont get motivated by helping people i will be a danger to myself within a couple months #but guys i am fucking ASS at coding. im goated at block coding i always make it past that #but my neocities wont work even tho im basically copy and pasting from html tutorials #i walk into the room and the machine makes it clear that it does NOT fuck with me #maybe i want biomedical research or something thats a little less hands on #or maybe an occupational therapy direction because i learn a lot about disabilities in my free time #or one of the cna or ekg practicum classes i can take through the local college #OR i can pay minimum a couple thousand for coding classes and brute force it #or stay biomedical engineering and focus on improving the mechanical aspects of existing biomed devices without personally coding as much #or veer way off course for something in sustainability #im literally just gonna end up teaching ap bio somewhere lmfao. why are we stressing #< NO hate to ap bio teachers i fuck with you #but i see that shit in my future Vividly #(or i could plan curriculums for teaching biology and standardize methods for courses such as pltw in the real setting ETC ETC ETC)

Why do grown ass men phone me to get my advice on their work, then refuse to take 2 min to check if my advice is correct and instead argue more than one hour with me about it not being correct, only to then say "ah it's a very easy solution" when they finally DO take it and pretend like they came to the solution themselves.

Happened THREE effin times today with three different people.

Either listen to me or don't phone me to ask for my input. Asdfghjkl

#i am crashing so hard today lmao i was up until 2am after watching the episodes and feeding the baby #then baby woke up at 4. hand to wife go back to sleep. baby woke up again at 6. and then i was up.#and then i had the worlds most boring meeting from 8 to 9. this is usually when i would be getting the kids ready for the day #so instead my wife did all of it while i was in worlds most boring meeting #then at 10am. i had to be part of a panel interview for a new engineer #someone to help ME with MY work!#but the interview was a live coding session conducted by staff+ level developers. NOT automation engineers #and they were so fucking hard on this poor guy omg. this guy whose resume is fucking perfect #he seemed so nice too. and he did his best #but even a fulltime ios engineer would struggle to implement such a data structure #its totally unreasonable to expect it of an automation engineer #and i had to be on the side in our chat trying to defend this guy like. look. i wouldnt be able to do this either #and for my interview i didnt have to! i wrote unit tests for that data structure which was already implemented #they seemed surprised and asked who did my interview. like holy shit you guys didnt even check?#you didnt even think to yourself 'i wonder if the automation engineers use different interview problems'????? omg #anyway i didnt mean to vent so much about that but #im just saying. my dopamine is all fucked up today lmao i'm struggling y'all

Here’s what I’ve actually been able to accomplish:

Got pretty far in React tutorial, learned a good amount, interviewed with it, & dropped it after realizing there’s so much I need to do to get hired as a full stack and solidified my place as a Backend SWE :) for now at least. I know enough React to do projects as I need to, but not enough to pass an interview.

SOME AlgoExpert Hard questions are feasible for me, nowhere near EASY yet, and I don’t HAVE to get there…for any reason

I’m more disciplined in every area of my life.

I release people who don’t want to be in my life anymore.

Got admitted to an improv theater after passing their multi-day auditions.

Made a rude guy who disrespected me apologize to my face.

I don't know if this is some kind of reflection on me as a person, but when coding or doing math whenever I get the wrong answer I go through this really intense "the computer is wrong!" phase where it's like the 200th time I'm trying something and there's no obvious place where I'm jacking it up at. "What do you mean 2+2 doesn't equal 5, it's obvious that someone in the great abyss of history is horribly, terribly incorrect about this problem and I'm the only one who realizes it" kind of deal, except I'm also really stubborn when I'm frustrated and I'll keep at it anyway until I figure out what I overlooked. It's almost always a really stupid obvious mistake that I'll gladly fess up to when I find it but the frustration in the interim is insane Anyway I'm never going to forget the time where the program I was using literally was "wrong" because it turned out a word was defined differently on one computer vs the computer next to it and I hadn't been taught about hardware differences yet and I was convinced I was going crazy after I input the same code on two devices and got two separate answers
