NEW FROM FINISHING LINE PRESS: Anna and Her Daughters by Marie Gray Wise
On SALE now! Pre-order Price Guarantee: https://www.finishinglinepress.com/product/anna-and-her-daughters-by-marie-gray-wise/
Marie Gray Wise is an emerging poet whose #poetry and short stories have appeared in various journals including I-70 Review, Main Street Rag, U S 1 Worksheets, English Journal, Tipton Poetry Journal, The Paterson Literary Review, Hamilton Stone Review, The Café Review, and Naugatuck River Review. She is a retired English teacher who has lived in South Jersey for most of her life except for an adventure in San Francisco where she found a husband and dragged him East. Besides being dedicated to poetry, she is currently also working on a novel. More of her work can be found at MarieGrayWise.com.
PRAISE FOR Anna and Her Daughters by Marie Gray Wise
In Anna and Her Daughters, Marie Wise provides one “snapshot” after another of the wild, wily, gutsy, sometimes inscrutable women in her family album: the Italian great-grandmother Anna; the grandmother Maria still glittering in her coffin in her “turquoise sequined dress”; the difficult and sometimes complaining mother Julia with her blue eyes and “sharp sparkle”; and Marie Wise’s sister whose head Marie visits as if it were a 3-story apartment. There Wise finds, in her sister’s keeping, the pearl necklace Wise wore when she “went to the prom with Jimmy Hernandez.” Nostalgic, funny, sad, exuberant, poignant, skillful and always honest, Wise gives us not only verbal photos, but the ebullient songs of her Italian ancestors. Her language washes over us—“the voices of [her] grandmother and her family—/their billows of un-sleek, second-hand Italian/their vowels puffing around the room.”
–Lois Marie Harrod, Spat and Fragments from the Biography of Nemesis
In Marie Wise’s linked poems, Anna’s daughter Maria is the matriarch of her Italian-American family, and a dynamo of energy and opinions. Probing her own relationship to Maria, Wise sees how her female relatives lived in a vibrant Italian-American mix of personalities, languages, everyday life and special occasions. The poems are written with honesty, humor, precision, sometimes a move towards the surreal: Maria “flew delicate dress hems through her machine/with the precision of a bombardier”; after a funeral, “the women gather plastic forks into cups/like bouquets from another planet.” Wise’s poems are big-hearted and clear-eyed, telling stories in women’s voices, family voices.
–Maxine Susman, author of My Mother’s Medicine
In this moving tribute to the family, Marie Wise explores the humor, love and heartache of three generations of Italian-American women. From the narrator’s perspective as the youngest generation, Ms. Wise taps into a common struggle for the descendants of immigrants—how does one embrace a new culture and new opportunities without completely rejecting what came before? And in this case, what came before is fromaggiacolloseooggi, Ms. Wise’s wonderfully inventive word describing her grandmother’s native Italian—crowds of vowels/that dance swiftly from their mouths/in words that seem to have no beginning or ending. More than language and words, Ms. Wise is speaking of love—that deep, complex familial love which also has no beginning or ending as proven through the pages of this collection.
–Susan Gerardi Bello, author of Through the Oak Tree

Étape 5 - 16 Août 2022
Monistrol d'Allier > Brioude

Karma: Before you say no- Gakushuu: No. Karma: But you haven’t even heard what I wanted to say! Gakushuu: I’m sticking with no.
Karma: Do you have a bag I could borrow? Gakushuu: The only bags I have are the ones under my eyes, and they’re specifically designed to carry the burden of my existence. Karma: You literally could have said no.
Ren: So, what is Akabane to you? Gakushuu: The reason I wake up in the morning. (That morning) Karma: *banging on the front door and leaning on the doorbell* ASANO, ASANO, ASANO, WAKE YOUR BITCH-ASS UP WE’RE GOING
Gakushuu: When I first met you I thought you were an idiot Karma: And? Gakushuu: Gakushuu: And you are.
Karma: I’m sorry, but this time I can’t do as you say. Gakushuu: What do you mean 'this time?' You’ve never done what I’ve said once since I’ve known you.
Gakushuu, at a café: Can I get a venti vanilla latte with 7 espresso shots? Karma, next in line: What the fuck just do cocaine
Gakushuu: How did none of you hear what I just said? Nakamura: I’ve been zoned out for the past two and a half hours. Kayano: I got distracted about halfway through. Karma: Ignoring you was a conscious decision.

Korosensei: I’m the most responsible teacher. Gakuhou: You literally just set the kitchen on fire. Korosensei: Yes, and I take responsibility for that. Gakuhou: Good to hear that, the damages come off your pay. Korosensei: IT WASN'T MY FAULT I SWEAR IT WAS THE STUDENTS

Development of Karushuu with incorrect quotes
(some of these are possibly done before, but they're part of the story, so... sorry?)
Karma: Hi, I'm Akabane Karma. And you are? Gakushuu, thinking: *questioning my sexuality*
Karma: My love language is being irritating. Karma: *proceeds to annoy Gakushuu*
Gakushuu: You're really campaigning for Asshole of the Year, aren't you? Karma: As the defending champion, are you nervous?
Gakushuu: I'm not looking for trouble. Karma: What a horrible way to live.
Gakushuu: I feel bad for whoever is going to end up with you. Karma: It’s too early for self-pity Gakushuu: ...what? Karma: what?
Ren: Why are you claiming you're not interested in anyone? We all know you’re in love with him. Gakushuu: I am not in love with Akabane, shut up! Ren: I never said who. Gakushuu: ... Gakushuu: Fuck, ok, hold on, listen here-
Karma: Just to clarify Karma: Is this considered fighting or flirting? Gakushuu: My hands are literally around your neck. Karma: ... Karma: You know that tells me nothing right?
Gakushuu, thinking of Karma: it’s like a game of Fuck, Marry, Kill, and he’s all three.
3-E and 3-A are playing truth or dare: Gakushuu: Truth or dare? Karma: Truth Gakushuu: I dare you to kiss me Karma: *leaning in for a kiss* Ha, you better believe I'm not about to lose to you, ace-kun The rest of class A: The rest of class E: What the hell, he didn't even choose dare
Gakushuu: I’m in love with you. Karma: We called off the prank war last night at midnight, idiot. Gakushuu: I know. Karma: Ah. Okay. Um. Cool. Neat. Very cool. Cool. Cool. Coolcoolcool-
Gakushuu: Akabane, your legs look great in those jeans. Karma: You should see me without them ;) Gakushuu: Gakushuu: Why, and how, would you take off your legs? Karma: ...you're misunderstanding on purpose, aren't you? Gakushuu: Don't be grammatically vague if you don't like that.
Gakushuu: You know, Ren gives his girlfriend flowers every other day. It'd be nice if you did that too sometimes... Karma: ok *the next day* Karma: *gives Ren's (current) girlfriend flowers* Ren's girlfriend: ??? Karma: I don't know, I'm confused as well (Gakushuu, to Ren who's mad about Karma hitting on his girl: Did he misunderstand on purpose or is he really that dumb? I don't even know)
Gakushuu: Karma, can you do something for me? Karma: I would literally cover up a murder for you, plant my DNA at the scene, and take the blame for the crime. Gakushuu: Great. Can you do the dishes? Karma: No.
Karma, on the phone: Nagisa, can I come over right now? Nagisa: Why? Karma: Shuu is passive-aggressively doing the dishes he asked me to do yesterday Karma: this ship isn’t safe anymore

👫 with Stinky!
Send a 👫and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship (Accepting)
Stinky absolutely started going to Rocco’s café almost exclusively once he found out he worked there. He usually orders the same thing, but now and again he’ll order something different to see if it throws Rocco off.
It took Stinky a little bit to get used to having such a talkative friend, and while it can be a little tiring, he does admit he appreciates it. He’s a quiet guy to begin, so it’s good to have a pal to bring him out of his shell!
These boys can bond over rollers! Stinky doesn’t use them quite as much as he used to these days, but he still loves them. I could see Rocco laughing over Tall Guy™ Stinky preferring lighter weight rollers over something like the Dynamo.
Once they get closer, Stinky would ask Rocco if he wants to give a listen to his demos and early versions of songs.

Episode 32-
In Okinawa, we see Rin and Minami dancing on the shore. Yuzu shows up with a water gun and chase ensues. The girls run through the water as the sun shines above them. Minami swims further into the sea as Rin runs toward the shore, “Hey Maika! Who should I chase first?” We see Maika sunbathing in sunglasses. She ignores Yuzu and turns over, placing her hands under her head. Yuzu launches several shots at Maika and chases her into the sea. The four girls splash around as they take turns with the water gun. “Honeys!” Johnny Bepp shouts. He waves at them with Sunny by his side. “Playtime is over! We need to get back to tour training.” (Twilight Etranger plays)
In the Star Harmony field, Ichigo is going through Rookie’s daily training. Aine is recording the footage for Seira to watch. “One! Two! One! Two!” She claps to the beat as the girls follow her cue. Ichigo does a few steps and repeats the choreography from G String on the Shining Sky. Rookie dances in sync and Ichigo notices that they remind her of Soleil. “If you give up now, you won’t make it to today’s special event.”
“What special event?” Raki asks.
“Maybe it’s a vault full of Mirai merchandise.” Wakaba says.
“Probably more training.” Noelle sighs. The music stops and Ichigo applauds.
“You’ll have to wait and see.” She heads off to the cafeteria but Aoi drags her back. Ichigo is sat in a chair as Aoi begins her interviews with each of them. The interviews run smoothly but Raki mostly shows off designs she’s been working on. As Aoi leaves, Wakaba asks Raki if she’s still working on her goal.
“Of course! I might not be showing them off but I’m sure I’ll have a new PR soon.”
“Raki, why don’t we have a stage to show off some of your recent designs.” Noelle says.
“Aah, since you want to plan an event, then why don’t you make this a challenge?” Ichigo smirks. “That way I don’t have to do as much,”
Raki nods and asks Wakaba to make a post about it on Friendstagram and soon word spreads.
The Star Harmony girls start to decorate the walls with whatever they can find and Sora comes by to sew the event name onto some banners. ‘Raki’s Special Showcase’ She has Koharu go and check in with Raki who is in her dorm. Koharu knocks and Raki lets her in. “Raki, what are you doing here?”
“What am I supposed to be doing?”
“Raki, this is your event. You’ve got to let people know what to do.” Raki stands in a huff and walks around the school giving vague advice to her fellow students. She has the banners moved a little and requests cake from the school café. She then proceeds to the school entrance where Sora is.
“Raki, it’s been a while hasn’t it?”
“Yeah, I’m planning my own event now.”
“I’m really proud of you Raki, but isn’t this a little rushed?” Raki cowers away as she clutches her torso. She moves toward Sora and nods sadly. “Raki, you can’t just think of having fun when it comes to an event. You have to sit down and work hard on it.”
“I’ve already come this far!” She complains. Sora looks down at Raki. She hugs her and strokes her head.
“Look, the least you can do now is ask for help,” Raki smiles as she looks up. “We’ll help you out, but next time you have to ask.” There’s a montage of Raki working with Koharu and Sora slowly patching up the event. Noelle and Wakaba bring some flowers and throw them around just before the attendees arrive. The turnout is small but Raki notices a few fans.
The crowd is walked into the auditorium and Raki welcomes them from the stage. “Let’s start the fashion show.” The Aikatsu System is used and the runway from Okay-Period. The song plays as well with Ema remarking that she misses Maika. Ichigo and Aoi are in the back of the crowd and nod approvingly. Sora and Koharu let Raki know that there’s nothing else to wear and she steps on stage. “Everyone, I’d like to thank you all fro attending. Please continue supporting Maple Ribbon.”
Raki watches the crowd cheer for her and sighs in relief. “I’m glad it was a success.” She whispers to herself. The lights dim as she turns to go off stage. Aoi walks up to the mic. Backstage, Noelle and Wakaba urge Raki to rest with a knowing smile. On stage, Aoi speaks, “On behalf of Hoshimiya Ichigo, I’d like to congratulate Raki on hosting her first event. However, that was merely the first milestone.” Aoi ominously walks off stage. Ichigo walks up to Raki who is sitting down and shows her the Pink Torte Coord. She turns to the three of them.
Tumblr media
“Rookie, why don’t you show me how far you’ve come. You should all wear your school coords.” The girls agree and the stage begins. The first coord from G String On the Shining Sky plays as we view them on stage in their respective school coords. The room lights up as Aoi stands alone at the back of the room. As the first verse kicks in, Aoi raises her hand and shouts, “Appeal!” They all use a Quick Appeal (But the hearts are rounded and warm toned) Noelle missteps after the appeal and struggles to get back in sync. Wakaba stops to watch but Raki stays on track, keeping her eyes on Ichigo. The chorus starts and Aoi orders another appeal. Ichigo uses Cute Flash and Raki uses Cute Smile. Wakaba and Noelle panic and botch their Quick Appeal. The song continues as the girls eagerly await the third command which comes at the end. Noelle and Ichigo both use Cute Flash. Wakaba uses Cute Smile. Raki tries to do a third appeal but is too exhausted to. The song concludes as the crowd cheers even louder. Sora notes that Rookie’s popularity is rising. We see that Koharu was recording the entire live from the audience. Ichigo finds the girls standing silently in the changing room. Its clear rhey’ve been crying but they force a smile for her. Ichigo shows her the positive feedback on their live. A lot of young fans want them to do better and relate to their failures. The episode ends with a short montage of the current shuffle units: Twinkle, Dynamo, Rookie and Johnny’s trio

In the fifties the English café became a continental coffee bar with espresso changing tea. In The Golden Disc Harry and Joan (Lee Patterson and Mary Steele) convert Aunt Sara's decrepid café into a coffee bar (to encompass a document shop and a recording studio) eventually selling a young singer (Terry Dene) to No.1 inside the tune charts and cashing in on the begin of the rock and roll era. Unconsciously, it's far a picture of the past due fifties in Britain. It throws in a cornucopia of track styles, the manufacturers obviously try to section all. There is folk, instrumentals, skiffle, jazz, ballads and rock'n'roll. As a chunk of musical history it's far outstanding in capturing the sensation of changing times.
The fact that prime-time television or cinema could result in hysteria and phenomenally growth sales of rock'n'roll music was now not unknown. That said, the complete concept of those early pop musicals were in particular created for economic benefit in a failing film business with audiences that had dropped off because the late forties.
The opening song Dynamo by using Sonny Stewart's Skiffle Kings stretches from ambient diegetic to performance mode (through a dissolving montage of nightclub neons from one espresso bar into another) as the tune abruptly modifications from a studio recording to stay performance. This courageous musical edit did not idiot everyone. 'You can be annoyed through the way it every so often fades the music before the artists have quite finished' says Nina Hibben in the Daily Worker, (15/3/58)
Campbell Dixon's person view of the time sees 'a strange world of frenzied exhibitionism and phoney, cautiously 호빠 cultivated hysteria. He is aware of it exists... because the young playwrights guarantee us its big, and I'm sure it's far, idea just what its large of, besides own family forget about and bad teaching, I've virtually no idea. All that worries me here is that I locate it quite numbingly dull.
The change of the coffee bar throughout a musical number is sort of a religious transformation. The Gaggia espresso device is delivered into the newly refurbished espresso bar ceremoniously carried on a timber plinth like a pharaoh's mummy. It is located within the position of font on a bar serving as the altar. The jukebox pervades as the church organ and the Espresso espresso serves ritualistically as a relaxed form of communion. These easy traits are indicative of the brand new trend: the blood of rock'n'roll in religious undertones. The owner cannot believe the amount of coffee inebriated because the coffee bar begins to be successful.
The attractions of the espresso bar; that bizarre amalgam of pine, caffeine, bamboo and bullfight posters, were legion. The coffee bar offered teenagers a warm, welcoming assembly place. Not a determine in sight. They had been places you could hang approximately for an evening, spend a shilling on a espresso, go in at nine and pop out at eleven, and no one bothers you.
Terry Williams (as Dene turned into born) labored as a record-packer, who had a desire to sing at office parties (his Presley imitations were properly received) and become found by way of manufacturer Jack Good of 6.five Special. As Terry Dene, he almost had decent hits, however his cover of Marty Robbins' White Sport Coat turned into a larger hit for some other British group, and his second unmarried became overshadowed by means of a Sal Mineo version. Nevertheless he became an overnight sensation along with his Elvis impersonation.
Terry Dene's part within the film is overshadowed with the aid of his disastrously brief career (that could have matched any of the opposite artists mentioned). Scandal and his incapacity to address drink within the track clubs led him to be the primary UK rebel. In his documentary he bemoans that the ballads Decca pressured him to file had been no longer what he changed into about, he changed into a rock'n'roller while he played live. 'Girls swooned over him, boys wanted to punch him.' says manufacturer Jack Good inside the biopic of Dene's lifestyles.
After various tantrums regarding panes of glass and mirrors being drunkenly smashed, he lost the respect of his fans. The alcohol delivered out a violent streak in him that became now not there whilst he changed into sober. A slight and mild natured person from London's operating magnificence Eastend (Platchet), he was faced with National Service (following in Elvis's footsteps). The other soldiers taunted him and within 48 hours he had had a fearful breakdown and left the navy in disgrace. The press of the day scolded him for his pointless scandals and lack of ability to perform his obligation for his country.
The Golden Disc took him to achievement, which become quick lived, and he soon became portrayed because the 'bad boy' of British rock'n'roll. This left him jobless after his demobilisation. In 1964 he then located solace in Christianity and proceeded too produce gospel records.
The movie finale sees Mary Steele and American Lee Patterson launch a document agency and make a nation-wide hit with Dene's first report. A massive British enterprise nearly ruins them, but an even bigger American agency large-heartedly steps in and saves the day. As Nina Hibbin says in the Daily Worker (15/3/58) 'It's speculated to be a British film but its message is "Good vintage Uncle Sam".' This is in contrast to Expresso Bongo 'which is a rarity: a British film-musical of which we may be proud of and America envious.'
Expresso Bongo 1959 The Manager
A rowdy elegy to British kids culture inside the fifties Expresso Bongo 'plunges a savage paw into the mess that is display business.' It is a film spoof of The Tommy Steele Story, (written by means of Wolf Mankowitz), taken from the West End musical of the same name. So enter Bongo Herbert, the 'unbroken road Arab' as defined by his sensible supervisor Johnny Jackson (Harvey) into a lifestyles of Penny arcades, Prostitution, spaghetti, espresso coffee, garlic sausage, neon, parmigiani and salt beef and the whole plethora of necessary beatnik paraphernalia of props that shrouded the movie from tip to toe.
'In 1959, show business is entertainment of the morons, by way of the morons, for the morons. And you get not anything for nothing'.
This factor of view is put forward in Expresso Bongo. It may seem exaggerated but changed into no longer some distance from the fact in its portrait of Tin Pan Alley and Soho, wherein 'stars are made and broken by the chequebook' as Anthony Carthew found out in his scathing file wherein he also claimed 'This vicious story of display business may be very close to the truth.' John Waterman speaks of 'the penalty of writing a bitingly topical e-book or play or musical is that by the point the movie appears it may have lost some of its teeth.' Whatever the outcome it changed into his impression that 'in a single day making a song successes are not the subject of public interest as they had been 18 months ago, in the stage play.' Perhaps this comment spells the stop of the pop years, which are well known to be between 1956-1960, after which period the Beat Boom commenced which led to the 'British Invasion' of British Pop tune into the American charts. This started with the achievement of the Beatles in Richard Lesters Hard Days Night (1964).

Treat Yo Self | Bucky Barnes x Reader
Fandom: Marvel, MCU
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader
Notes/Warnings: Soooo, I wrote this because I found out it’s @buck-eh birthday today. Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Eva!! Not gonna lie I didn’t plan to write this much, I was planning more drabble-sized but I couldn’t stop myself :D
Word Count: 1.342
Tumblr media
Waking up early wasn’t something you enjoyed. Never. Not even with your boyfriend pressed against your back, his left arm hanging over your hips, the cold metal causing goosebumps to slowly rise all over your body. Groaning quietly you glared at the clock on your bedside table. 6:13 am…who wakes up this early? Well…the answer to the question was pretty simple: nearly every single person in the Avengers compound. You could hear your friends walking up and down the hallway outside the room you shared with Bucky, their voices and the sound of them moving around being the cause why you were awake so early. Usually, you tried to sleep for as long as possible. But in moments like these, you envied the heavy sleeper beside you. For all you knew a bomb could explode next to his head and the brunette would continue his slumber, his soft snores echoing in your bedroom. Deciding it would be no use, you carefully slipped out of Bucky’s grasp, throwing on some clothes before making your way into the living area of the compound only to find almost everyone up and awake, drinking coffee and eating breakfast.
“Morning, (Y/N),” Steve smiled at you as he saw you shuffle down the few steps.
Sliding a cup of coffee in your direction as you reached the counter, Sam patted you softly on the shoulder, avoiding the bruise that was still evident from last weeks mission, “Seems like you could use it.”
“Thanks.”
You took a big gulp of the hot liquid, letting it run down your throat, heating your shivering body from inside and slowly helping you to wake up and come to your senses.
“So, what’s the plan for today?” you asked, letting your gaze wander over everyone around you, seeing a few shrug their shoulders, others looking deep in thought.
“We gotta train today,” Nat pointed at Steve and Sam, both men nodding in response.
“I promised Peter to look at his suit,” Tony spoke up, taking his cup off the counter and walking in the direction of the labs, Bruce following him, probably planning to work on something there as well.
“Sorry, (Y/N), but Vision and I wanna go to the farmer's markets today, I’ll teach him how to make goulash,” Wanda smiled apologetically.
Letting out a sigh you rested your head on your hands, trying to think of anything to do today. You didn’t want to show it but you were disappointed, today was your birthday and, as it appeared, none of your friends remembered. Your only hope was that at least your boyfriend would do and spend the day with you.
“Don’t look so sad. I’m sure Bucky will spend the day with you,” Steve said before his eyes shifted to something behind you, “Speak of the devil.”
Before you could turn around to greet your boyfriend you felt strong arms wrap around your middle, Bucky’s stubble rubbing softly against your neck as he buried his face into the nape of your neck.
“The bed was lonely without you, doll,” Bucky mumbled into your skin, causing a quiet chuckle to escape your mouth.
“Sorry, babe, I just couldn’t sleep any longer.”
“’s okay…”
After Bucky sat down on the stool next to you, Steve handing him a cup of coffee as well, you asked him if he had any plans for the day.
“Actually, doll, I planned to join Steve, Sam and Nat…” he trailed off, awkwardly scratching his neck.
“Oh…Alright, no problem. Have fun,” you tried to cover up your disappointment but Bucky could see right through you, as much as it annoyed you in moments like these.
“I promise we’ll spend tomorrow together, deal?” he turned to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulders to pull you close and press a kiss against your temple.
Silently cursing to yourself for being so weak for him you nodded your head, smiling at your boyfriend before he stood up to walk to the gym with the rest of your friends, leaving you by yourself.
“What am I gonna do with myself?” you asked no one in particular, spinning around on the stool you were sitting on a few times before deciding you didn’t necessarily want to throw up the coffee you just had. Slipping off the piece of furniture you felt dizzy for several moments due to your spinning as you walked back into your room, stumbling over your own feet the first few steps. You ended up deciding you were gonna go out into the city, to eat some breakfast in your favourite café and to explore some bookstores while you were already there, making the best out of your situation. A nice ‘treat yo self’ day.
After getting dressed you wrote a short note to Bucky that you left on his bedside table, knowing he always sat down on the bed for a few minutes after taking his post-workout shower. Making sure you had your phone and wallet with you, as well as your keys, you grabbed your jacket at the entrance of the Avengers compound, quickly closing the door behind you to get ready for your downtown adventure.
Returning back to the compound several hours later you found all the lights turned off, making it very clear that you were alone in the entire facility. Letting out a soft sigh you hung your jacket back on one of the many coat hangers, placing your bag of books next to the wardrobe.
“Great. Just…great,” you mumbled to yourself as you took off your shoes, disappointment and defeat settling over you.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y. could you turn on the lights for me, please?” your voice echoed off the walls as you walked into the living area.
“Of course, (Y/N),” the female voice responded.
As the lights slowly turned on you saw several people jumping up from behind the furniture, a big banner with the words ‘Happy Birthday, (Y/N)’ hanging from the ceiling.
“Surprise! You didn’t think we all forgot your birthday, did you?” Bucky grinned at you, jumping over the back of the couch to walk up to you, wrapping his strong arms around you.
“Not gonna lie, I kinda did. I thought everyone just forgot…”
“I’m offended, (Y/N)! How could you think your best friend would forget your birthday?” Sam teased, raising his hands to his chest in fake-shock.
“You’re crazy…I can’t believe you did this to me,” you laughed as you were pulled into a group hug, a massive Avengers group hug.
“I love you guys. You know that, right?”
“We love you, too.”
Tony was the first to break away from the hug, wandering over to the pile of presents, looking like they were about to fall over at any given second.
“Before this turns into a whole sob-fest…presents?”
The following hours were spend unwrapping different gifts, eating the most delicious food and laughing with all your friends, happy that hey hadn’t forgotten your birthday after all.
“I got one more present for you, doll,” Bucky smiled, handing you a small box to you.
Opening it, the first thing you saw was an envelope with your name written on it in your boyfriend’s handwriting. Inside you found two tickets to see your favourite band, something you wanted to do for a long time now but never had gotten the chance to do.
“Oh my god, thank you so much, Bucky,” you jumped up to press a kiss against his cheek, his stubble slightly scratching your cheeks in the process, a light blush rising to Bucky’s cheeks since he still wasn’t completely used to showing affection in public, especially in front of your friend’s eyes.
“Don’t thank me, (Y/N). I know how much their music means to you so this was the least I could do.”
You pulled Bucky into a bone-crushing hug, clutching the concert tickets tightly in your hand.
“I love you so much.”
“I love you too. Happy Birthday, babe.”
