I just watched Listen and wow. It's an incredible piece of television. I remembered that I loved it, but I'd forgotten a lot of what makes it so brilliant. I feel like I don't ever see it discussed, but honestly I think it's one of the greatest episodes this show has ever created.

The sad thing is that I don’t think Doctor Who will end with us finding out The Doctor’s name, I think it’ll end with the sonic finally being able to be used on wood ahahah

the most relatable thing about the 12th doctor is his singular dedication to hating danny pink, even after he dies lmao

I just watched Listen for the first time in years and it's such a great piece of television. Not only is there great suspense, there's also such a wonderful beginning to Clara's journey to becoming more like the Doctor; she takes charge at the end and she can't bear to see a child cry. Her speech to the young Doctor is also a brilliant indication that perhaps some of who he is comes from her.
Also, the fact that Orson isn't really her descendent is a great parallel to the fact that there wasn't really a threat in the first place.
