hoookay so uh this au started in I wanna say april??? its been going for a good long while, we hit the pin limit on discord. I can answer questions and throw half finished summaries and plans in google docs at ya if you'd like but it is a lot and i am not a writer so my ability to communicate it is probably not the best lol

the hells are a sort of team, yes! although it takes much longer for everyone to come together. Ashton is initially on the bad side working for hexum, fcg is his pixie!(ill explain those in a sec) Imogen and Laudna enter in season 2 and have a sort of hotaru-chibiusa relationship? Laudna is also somewhat being manipulated by the villains in season 2. Chetney is not magical but he was turned into a monster at one point and now hangs around for support when he can. Fearne is queen of the pixies! Bertrand is Dorian's landlord
Hexum is the villain of season 1, the briarwoods are the villains of season 2, and Oryms Dad, (tarintell?) is the villain of 3 (yes we have seasons we went wild on this one im so sorry)
it is a modern au!
Their fairy magic comes from making bonds with the Pixies, magical creatures of pure magic fighting to protect their home from the dark, rotten, corrupted magic that threatens their existence. Pixies are sort of best friends, sort of mentors, sort of just everything their fairy needs. Ashton (Fairy Crystal is his magical girl name, once he leaves hexum and becomes a true magical girl again) as I mentioned has FCG, a little mechanical turtle, Orym (Fairy Petal) has Hime, the worlds cutest little royal bunny she is my favorite oc EVER and Dorian (Fairy Sky) has mochi, a young impulsive bluebird and he is Also my favorite oc EVER
the pixies draw their magic from the stars and their society is all about just being what they believe they should be, so fcg is a robot cuz he said so and Hime is a princess because she deserves it, idk it's cute they're delightful
we're still kinda figuring out imogen and laudna's situation I don't know what to call them exactly right now
(for the record i call them magical girls because in my brain that is the genre of hero and not necessarily a description of gender?? magical boy or magical person doesn't have the same ring idk mostly we just call them fairies)

My little gift for the dorym nation discord secret santa! I was lucky enough to make art for chubs @czpeterp nd their little library au! I hope you like it chubs! 💖
Basically Orym is a librarian while Dorian is a writer! Dorian asks Orym on dates as “””research””” for his romance novel he’s writing. Shenanigans ensue.
I also tried to do a new way of doing chibis, nd I kind of like how the coloring turned out too. It was nice to do smth a little less challenging nd a little more fun tbh. Also last post of 2022 yay!

Oh my gOD it's finally today! Thanks so much to @sweetsilentsteps for organizing this wonderful event, it's been absolutely amazing to see such a nice community come together to create all of that's been added to the Dorym Big Bang Collection in AO3. Ok WELL for anyone unaware, dorym nation has a Magical girl au?? And I am .. a little obsessed with it. We accidentally wrote over 2 seasons of anime, basically. Magical girl stuff is very close to my heart ❤️
Mostly I've been fleshing out everyone's outfits so far!! Civilian, Magical girl form, end of season epic Magical girl form, corrupted evil form, you get the idea. Orym is fully designed, Dorian just needs his corrupted form, and Ashton is basically just a rough rough sketch

"An acrobat or a halfling?"
"Oh, a halfling." Dorian was blushing a little now and looking around like he thought he may have said something stupid. "It's just, I've lived in the Squall my whole life, you know? Nobody but genasi here. I've actually only ever seen peachy-tan people before a handful of times. And none of them were ever halflings."
Ah, so that explained the staring, at least. Orym was used to being the only halfling in a room – they weren't exactly common in Zephrah – but he'd never met someone who had never even seen one before. He had a sinking suspicion that this was about to get awkward.
"Well, there's lots of us out there," he replied half-heartedly. "I'm sure you'll see another someday."
Dorian was staring at him openly now, and it was all Orym could do not to squirm under the intensity of his gaze.
Suddenly Dorian moved his face closer, and for a second Orym thought that he was going to kiss him, before the genasi spoke.
"You have green eyes," Dorian said, sounding completely awe-struck, and Orym realized belatedly that he had no idea how much Dorian had had to drink.
"I…do…"
"I've never seen green eyes before."

While it was tempting to continue watching Orym passed around from one dance partner to the next, he forced his eyes away to see his brother with a soft smile on his face. The dark green tunic detailed with outlines of silver clouds he wore fit perfectly to his form; as were the silver pants leading to bare feet. He looked relaxed-shoulders loose, hair lightly breezing around, a slight sway to his body in time with the music. His smile grew a little wider as Cyrus set an arm around Dorian's shoulder and gave a little playful jostle.
“I'm glad you found him.” Cyrus drew him in closer. “He's good for you, and you're good for him.”
“I think so, too.”
