I saw someone post about how Facebook and Instagram have essentially turned into platforms for lurkers, people who just look at content but don't interact with it, and I think there's an element of truth to that.
I have over 1,100 followers on Instagram, but my posts average about 30 - 40 likes. The stories I post get well over 100 views but very little reaction. My post "popular" posts are usually the ones that have my face in them somewhere, especially if I'm wearing makeup. Posts where I'm having fun with friends get the least attention.
On Facebook, the only posts of mine that ever get any major engagement are the generic "happy life update" ones - something positive about work, my anniversary with my partner, etc. - but anything I post where I'm talking about subjects that are important to me or things I'm genuinely interested in tend to just sit there.
Social media as a rule tends to be very shallow. Unfortunately, the noise/industrial community on Instagram is really shallow and I've come to learn that over the past couple of years, ever since I started releasing music and gaining a bit of traction from it. If you're not constantly posting about what you're working on, people stop caring.
Tumblr, weirdly enough, is where I have the most active and direct engagement with others. Maybe that's why I've stayed here for so long. For whatever reasons, people actually care about what I have to say and what I'm doing here. For that I'm genuinely thankful.

Prompt 210
The battle had been long. Long and destructive, power rolling from both combatants as they launched at each other and tore through armor and flesh alike.
Islands fell from the skies with every clash, swaths of utter annihilation following as they fought long after their armies had finished. Wings swept great gales of wind that shadows raced to block, fire meeting fire and claws meeting blade as two beasts brawled.
Finess was no longer a thing needed- this was all about who could last longer now. One who fought for itself, for its legacy of tyranny, and another who fought together, as one.
The battle was long, no one quite sure how long but enough to be called as such. It could have been hours, it could have been days, it could have even been centuries in this mauling of what was and what could be.
And finally, the One-That-Was-Many rose victorious over the king before it, dead once more at its talons, wings spread to usher in a new era for the realms.
Or at least, that was how the tale went, according to Marvel. Even he wasn’t sure what parts of it were true or simply legend, but it was an interesting story all the same. It kept the kids entertained at least, and caught the others attention so there was that.

I love when they make kids shows about weird little neurodivergent kids. You're doing great, Sid the Science Kid. I love you, Dora the Explorer. Rock on, Doc McStuffins. Go girl go, Dino Dana. Inspirational.
