One the previous post I talked about the KOSA Bill and the TikTok Ban Bill as you can see above, but now for this post I'm going to talk about something of even greater importance. Project 2025.

Project 2025 is a plan from Republicans / Conservatives to seize total control of America from the inside out while destroying democracy in the process, ultimately turning America into a Christian nationalist militarized state. One of the main ways they plan on making this a reality is through Trump getting a second term as president.

If this comes to pass, this will ruin and even end the lives of many, and to make it worse, the changes caused by Project 2025 will still be in effect even long after Trump's second term ends.

We cannot let Trump when this election, and as much as I hate this, Biden is really our only choice since voting on a 3rd party will most likely won't work. I know Biden has a lot of problems, but we don't have a choice.

I probably already posted this before, but I’ve been reading Donald Duck comics in English these past few days (for... probably the first time?) and it’s kinda interesting looking back at this stuff

All my life I’ve been reading translated Donald Duck comics, and because they were translated from different languages, we get wonky names every now and then. Our naming convention are mostly based on the Dutch, but occasionally we get comics translated from Italian or Spanish or Portuguese, which maybe gets the translators mixed up?

Side characters like Glomgold AND Rockerduck gets their names screwed around pretty often. Like, for some reason their names are both translated as “Gover Duck” sometimes, and other times they retain their American names Glomgold and Rockerduck, which makes all readers confused.

Panchito was referred to as Chito Panchito once, instead of Panchito Pistoles. Jose Carioca was Joe Carioca.

Also in our language they didn’t differentiate between Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck, so I was so surprised their surnames were meant to be different.

Chapter 201: Direct Negotiations, part 2—THIS IS AMERICA!

Happy JJK-Sunday.

Actually... not really... Our boys are about to walk into insanity... Get your Kleenex box ready. Gege is up to no good...

He also made fun of and called out “America” and I love him all the more for it. Makes me wonder whether he’s keeping up with the USAmerican fandom and wonders how we’re reacting to the chapter.

We love it!

If anyone cares to read... I got super political and opinionated and personal. That’s what happens when you are a First Generation USAmerican born in the US but raised outside of the US--you see things differently.

THIS IS AMERICA

Also, if you haven’t, go listen to the song by Donald Glover, This is America, a fantastic satire of a song and music video loaded with symbolism. The song and video were released in May of 2018 and depicted the deeply rooted societal problems plaguing American society.

Not featured in the song and video, however, are...

The American Healthcare System: The fact that I can't afford to go to the Doctor or have a medical emergency without getting into ridiculous amounts of debt...

Student loan debt: Not to mention the mountain of Student Loan debt I have because... #this is America and in the American Dream you get into debt to go to college to get better jobs. It’s a literal scam and millions of us bought into it.

Far Right Christian Fundamentalism: Also, a group of judges took away federal protection for abortion laws. It’s feeling really Handmaid’s Tail up in here.

Guns guns guns, USAmericans LOVE their guns: Did I mention my neighbors aren’t scared to publicly say that they’ll shoot you with their assault riffle if you trespass into their property and they assume you are suspicions? #Texas.

Talk about being a progressive society.

But hey...

I think the biggest irony about the internal societal problems tearing down American society is intimately related to what Gege is addressing in this chapter... instead of focusing on fixing our internal problems, American leaders are hell-bent on colonization, conquest and dominating the political landscape outside of its borders.

Cue Killing in the Name of by quintessentially American Rock Band, Rage Against the Machine.

Yes, Gege. Say it.

And the whole implication about how the US uses its army to pursue this world domination agenda?

I don’t care how cliché these American Villains are they’re painfully cliché... this whole thing is so on point.

As a First Generation USAmerican, I honestly had second-hand embarrassment reading this chapter.

Side note: I drive a 13-year old Honda Civic. I highly recommend Japanese cars. USAmerican cars are not that great.

I am totally not surprised to see Gege addressing how the US government and media will manipulate public perception of certain political issues.

“We’re not experimenting on Japanese citizens, we’re protecting them” reminds of the war in Iraq in the search for weapons of mass destruction that were never found.

Similarly, if you Google Project A119, the formal definition about it was presented to the public as having benign reasons. But who is to say it wasn’t about establishing dominance?

Curious to learn more? You can read more about Project A119 and Operation Fishbowl by doing Google searches on these terms.

But I think most poignant is the implication that American leadership would think that it’s morally correct to experiment on humans.

And Kenny totally has the USAmerican leaders eating right out of his hand by saying everything he knows they need to hear.

We know Kenny is going around stirring the pot and getting countries pitted against one another.

But we haven’t seen what he has told the Japanese government. We also don’t know if Gege will write about the kinds of atrocities the Japanese government might have committed against its own citizens.

Like other authors, Gege certainly doesn’t hold back his punches.

And, again, what’s most poignant about this whole ordeal is that we’re talking about governments and how they justify their actions while manipulating public perception of these issues.

That’s why I really appreciated the symbolism used to depict the ideal of what it means for USAmerica to be the world power that it is today (or at least was once upon a time).

This is America.

And I love that, again, Kenny was just like...

“Calm down USAmerica, you might have guns and muscle, but Japan has psychic warriors. Duh!”

That smug look on his face too... Let’s not forget that Kenny has been planning this ordeal and waiting for the right set of circumstances like an idiotic USAmerican President in office for at least a millennia

Anyways...

Yes, world. The clichés about USAmerica are mostly painfully true.

Ura-ume

Talking to @justafrenchlondoner we were both wondering whether Ura-ume is going to turn on Kenny since Ura-ume appears to have a deep allegiance with Sukuna and Sukuna had a change of plans.

Similarly, if I remember correctly, Kenny was ok with doing away with Sukuna... something like that. Gotta go back to re-read parts of the Shibuya arc.

Either way, gotta wonder about them...

And then the chapter ends...

The perfect recipe for disaster.

800 soldiers with USAmerican guns and muscle against a comedian, an Angel, and two high school-aged Psychic Warriors.

I fear that here comes the culmination of this cozy feeling of safety that Gege created during the first half of the arc... and it is legit giving me anxiety.

I’m literally going crazy because I can see it coming. There’s a Gege-twist coming. I can feel it. And idk if I’m being paranoid but that’s how Gege rolls.

This man kills and hurts beloved characters without remorse just after you thought everything was groovy.

The Culling Game so far...

During the Culling Game, a literal Battle Royale twist on the Battle Tournament trope, with some exceptions, most of what we’ve gotten so far has been very lighthearted moments and battles and no significant deaths.

The Culling Game is about death but we haven’t experienced any deaths that we care about. Think long and hard about that.

Instead, Gege has bombarded us with Gege-style irony and humor.

Who could forget Yuta kissing a cockroach?

Not to mention Yuta and Ryu’s bromance to wrap up the arc.

Have we forgotten how incredibly annoying Charlie Bernard was?

And how Kashimo vs. Hakari literally ends with them teaming up, stroking each other’s ego, and acting like they weren’t just trying to kill each other moments ago?

What about Takaba’s awful jokes?

Then there was Kappa-guy and Katana-guy...

And now that Naoya has died again... we’re back to where it all began: Yuji and Megumi willingly going on a suicide mission to save each other and their loved ones.

Now, during Shibuya, Yuji walked away scarred, not just physically, but emotionally and psychologically. Megumi, on the other hand, was protected by Sukuna.

This also just reminded me that, from my perspective, Megumi has shown us on more than one occasion that he doesn't seem to have much regard for the life of others.

So I kind of have to wonder whether we’re about to find out just how much Megumi doesn’t value human life in general given the whole thing about how the most powerful sorcerers have an overwhelming sense of self and have no regard for others.

Who knows! Can’t wait to see how the rest of the Culling Game arc unfolds because when JJK is good, JJK IS GOOD.

This is America

You know... the political rant about USAmerica aside, I must admit that living in USAmerica is quite the privilege that I am grateful to have.

I think that inasmuch as we, USAmericans have a bad reputation, we really are just like everybody else--doing our best with what circumstances we have been handed.

For some self-disclosure: I lived in Houston, TX for a decade. Houston is a criminally underrated yet quintessentially USAmerican city...

Houston is no Manhattan, but it is the cultural capital of the Southern US and is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the country. And amongst the things that are quintessentially American are the immigrant communities that have made this country what it is today.

I understand that when Anthony Bourdain recorded the episode for Parts Unknown in Houston, despite Houston’s incredible gourmet foodie scene, he specifically asked to visit the hole-in-the-wall-type cultural nooks in the city because he wanted the episode to focus on the USAmerican experience of being an immigrant in this country.

I can tell you that while I lived in Houston, I had friends from Mexico to Nepal, and worked with people from Spain all the way to Korea.

The private school I worked at had children enrolled from at least 50 different nationalities from the world over. What I loved most about working there was knowing that these children were being taught that it didn’t matter where you’re from because in the end we’re all just human.

Similarly, when Hurricane Harvey dumped a year’s worth of water on Houston in 2017, Houston was practically under water. The outpouring of support from the community in the midst of the chaos, however, was beautiful to behold. Your nationality or skin color did not matter, what mattered was helping other Houstonians get back on their feet.

This is USAmerica.

... and we’ve got deeply rooted societal problems, but we really are just doing our best with what we’ve got.

“The dam is beginning to break.”

I just finished watching the entire hearing, gotta say they were ON FIRE. Everyone who spoke. Bennie’s got covid so he video’d in and let Velociraptor Cheney lead things off.

The witnesses were great. They are typical of the “dedicated quiet professionals” in the goverment. They are the ones who try to make things work correctly, and they usually get no love. Tonight was just amazing, in that department.

Kinzinger was just excellent, and Ms. Luria as well.

They all met the moment. Those video clips of the attack were just horrific, especially when they synced the video with the radio messages sent....gotta give their tech people big props! They’re meeting the moment.

Which is what they’re supposed to do, regardless of party. That’s what makes us Americans, dammit. People standing up and doing the right thing.

I did laugh out loud at the Clown Car reference to Rudy and the nutjob crew.

It’s 3:05 am...and I guess it really hasn’t registered yet. Been up since about ten am, had my little sweetie for dinner tonight, and her weekly fix of Malcolm in the Middle, so I had to watch it delayed after I got her back home.

This was definitely one for the history books tonight, with the promise of much more to come in September. More witnesses are coming forward, and they are kicking into higher gear on the evidence, as Cheney said tonight “The dam is beginning to break.” Donald Trump and his enablers will go down.

This shit takes time. And as far as I’m concerned, I can’t wait for Season 2!

Mormon Chapter 2, Part 8. "The Arousal."

The Book of Mormon was instrumental at inciting the Civil War and Emancipation in the United States of America. The effort was obviously not 100% political, there were bullets fired, and many casualties. While this is not desirable, President Lincoln and his colleagues knew the slavers were not going to follow the Torah or the Gospels and free their slaves so he killed them. This is a good thing to think about these days when so many tyrants around the world are refusing to obey the law and step aside and allow legally elected governments to take over.

Donald Trump did not legally win the White House in 2016. The Family Research Council was hired by the RNC and the Trump Campaign to undertake a grass roots telemarketing effort to use information Barbara and David Green who own the Museum of the Bible. Senator Josh Hawley provided the venue, his home, where the effort to take place. All of this is well documented in a major motion picture the Widows, which splices in real live footage of the events within the election fraud.

A nation that swears in an illegally elected president, and then permits the man to attack civil rights, engage in War Crimes, Crimes Against Humanity and then pursues the White House again is not considered a sovereign nation. Free elections are a human right and neither can one just decide to cheat in a federal election and then come what may.

Joe Biden is aware Donald Trump cheated in 2016 and is a pedophile, human trafficker, and War Criminal but has not acted with all the might the law allows to arrest him and close his Party, the Republicans down as penalty for what they have done. Somehow this scum is now appearing on our November Ballot again, and this is confusing. This has to be addressed or other nations do not have to recognize the authority of the goverment of America and that, especially at this time, would be completely disastrous, as would another Trump Presidency.

So, for the sake of all and for the sake of the upkeep of the law, this morning, Joe Biden needs to explain Donald Trumps final arrest to the world this morning and why he allowed this bullshit asshole to creep into our lives and gnaw on our souls.

This is what the verse says he must do, and why: The Republicans have to flee before us and never return to criminalize our government again.

The Book of Mormon is telling us it is time to put a stop to Donald Trump and the rampages of the Republican Party at last. The Republicans are trying to take away the rights of American citizens that are guaranteed by federal and international law and this is taxation without representation and they have to be punished and put in jail for it.

They are not doing their jobs and once again they are submitting a candidate they know has a problem with sex abuse of little kids, cheated in a prior election, and attempted a siege on the government. The people have to stand up for themselves and President Biden has to act or bad is going to go to worse and you know how much we love that in America.

And...now it's time for a little prayer to Barbara...for National Security!

honestly its surprising how many USamericans keep forgetting that the united states isn't just the federal goverment but also the governments of the states and that the Biden administration is actually only a fraction of the federal government.

The reason why you're seeing both the best and worst policies coming out at the same time is because we have a very very divided country when it comes to people's values and the political decisions being made reflects that.

Donald trump riled a lot of conservatives and encouraged them to get progressively worse and more abhorrent as people and wealthy fascists have the money to radicalize some pretty powerful people to support bad policies.

What we are seeing is several moving parts in the machine that is the US government actively working against each other. Something something Russia intentionally trying to push wedge issues while at teh same time succumbing to wedge issues (the irony).

Hear me out on some funny dreams...

I was in my childhood homeyard, doing the type of thing I'd usually do there as a kid, even tho I was my real age in it. Meaning, I was checking out some bugs and lizards.

Donald Trump was there for some reason. He was kind of lost (I mean yea, what are you doing in deep in Eastern Finland countryside exactly?). He was using my childhood home to hide from something...

He was not sure about where my loyalties lie. I could sense his short temper and that he wasn't far from nefarious decisions there! I was on my own. So I figured I needed to confuse him for a bit. I rambled at him autistically about the bugs.. He was annoyed but speechless.

Then some nonbinary person who was my friend, and also a person this dream made up from scratch, appeared and whispered to me...

"We got him. It's time!"

They tackled him to the ground by surprise, and I got ropes and we tied him the fuck up! I was in disbelief... Because I had not believed in our strength and capacity this much. But here we were doing it, capturing Trump, we were WINNING.

Then we magically shrunk him into a tiny guy.

I put him in a glass jar, lid tightly shut. Poured some honey on him so he'd get stuck there. Had a sharp pencil in my hand, and I and the friend were wondering if I should just impale his skull with the pencil and we'd be done, or if there was someone we should transfer him to, for his sentencing or whatever...

Then I awakened to a sadder reality where I just didn't have the power tho shrink powerful fascists into bugs I put in jars. :/

The dream felt empowering af... Like, actually being able to shrink rising fascism into a bug-sized squashable thing. It felt reassuring, like there is hope.

I myself am not from US. I'm from Finland and our new goverment is the most violently fascist we've ever seen. I've gone to two different protests already and joined several political organizations opposing it, - we quite literally want to end this government before it gets to work. Their plans are public and they are horrible. The whole country protests.

Over half of this country does not accept their racism, xenophobia, ableism or classism. Over half of us don't want this. It's a historical turning point we're living now. If we lose, we're doomed to years of misery and horror. If we win, we're securing the future of Finland as a country that values and respects humanity.

Perhaps my dream could've been a little more accurate by throwing our own fash in it instead of Trump, - but perhaps Trump was there to personify something both Americans and Europeans are familiar with... Imo the fascism looks very much the same for us both.

Very important takeaway from the dream;

- Feeling disbelief as we tied up Trump

- ...But you know, we DID tie him and shrink and capture him!

-> Just know what you're doing, do what you know works and execute it.

-> Measure your possibilities. Find organizations and organizers that are already doing work to end the injustices, - and join them if you can.

-> Exercise good communication skills to keep talking to your less radical family etc. about why they should partake in active antifascism. Dialectical materialism works, appeal to their self-interest to make them see that all our struggles are interconnected, and that tomorrow it could be their rights in the chopping block.

-> Don't isolate from community. You are not in this alone. Don't let the pressure crush your action. Any and all action matters.

-> Those who have power now, are not gods. Their power can be taken from them, bit by bit. Even if we don't see end of capitalism, (neo)colonialism etc. in our lifetimes, we can always reduce and repair as much damage as we can, and that will be life-changing to a huge number of people, perhaps yourself too. Any life improved or saved is good.
