Honestly he was reluctant about the whole streaming thing
He was for one, worried about his privacy, and for another thing, pretty damn bad at all the video games his manager suggested
So you best believe bro was getting hated on
"Chat...chat, shut up, I'm trying to focus. What the hell, how do I switch perspectives!?" Rin swore he was going to strangle his manager the next time he saw him. Sure, this was supposed to be a publicity stunt, the hot new thing was streaming and Rin had next to no interaction with his fans yadda yadda, but if anything he felt like this was hurting his public image. It took him 10 minutes yesterday to figure out how to switch weapons without blowing himself up or wasting ammo in the process. And to make things worse, his brother was already pretty popular on the streaming site just doing meditation and daily skincare. That would've been the easier route probably but he'd rather be damned to hell than risk making it look like he was copying Sae.
That didn't stop his brothers rabid fans from decending on his chat though, making it run 20 miles per hour with insults and comparisons. "Why is he wearing a hoodie? I bet he's chubbier than Sae and scared to show it." "Your brother could probably beat you at this too" "Remember when Sae's bf kicked you in the face LOL" So Rin decides to ignore it, or try to. He hates to let these trolls get to him. He knows there will be clips all over social media but he can feel the veins in his forehead bulging with every missed shot on his video game and every extra jab from each comment. Just as he feared they're picking apart every last detail of his setup, his carrer and of course someone from the chat logs into the game just to camp and kill him over and over again.
The internet is a cruel, cruel place, but that doesn't mean there is no good. "(Y/URL) sent a voice message!" Rin jumps, he didn't even know the platform could read things out loud. "Hello! I just wanted to say don't listen to these asshats! You're an amazing strategist and player and I've admired you since your first match. You deserve to be called the GOAT of every game you're in." Rin doesn't smile at the compliment, it doesn't mean anything if he hasn't beaten his brother yet right? But the athlete's forehead does get a bit less vascular and his cheeks less flushed in anger and more in surprise at the kind comment. He ends up tentatively responding, "Thanks, uhh, (Y/URL) for tuning in..." And then, against his better judgement, he goes off script from what his manager told him to say. Asking how your day's going and starting a conversation.
He's still horrible at this game, but at least up until the stream ends he had one kind interaction. Maybe he will stream again tomorrow...

So many fans.. ngl the only way you'd be able to get his attention is with a weird question
Kaiser honestly wishes that Ness would stop trying to jump into his stream every five seconds. For once he's trying to do an actually serious little sit down and talk with his fans and the lunatic keeps showing up behind him in his shots and answering questions next to him. The comments on his stream are a mix of different languages, all of them have the same excited tone though. While he's trying to shoo Ness out of the room it's revealed that he's wearing boxers with no pants. Of course, Kaiser genuinely doesn't care about his fans seeing his body. He's posted so many different mirror selfies that there are edits online just using those photos of him instead of footage from his games. What can he say, he likes showing off his tattoos.
Kaiser usually streams talks and answering questions once a month but this is the second time this month because one of his sponsors recently got in a huge scandal. Unfortunately, there was a photo floating around of him shaking hands with some bigwig that turned out to be a creep and now everyone was jumping up to cancel him. The blonde said that he didn't care and he knew that it would all blow over, but anyone close to him knew that this was affecting him more than he lead on. He fed off and thrived off the praise others gave him, no matter how much he degraded and disregarded the people around him his fans undying adoration spoke to his ego in a way few things could. So to watch those thirst comments disappear in favor of accusations, sarcasm and negative emotes made him squirm a bit. No wonder Ness kept trying to jump in a take the heat for him.
He skimmed a few comments, refuting and responding where he could until he got to your comment. Extremely out of place among the others, it was a simple gushing of praise before finishing off with "and how did you come up with your signature move?" His back straightens. "Ahahah, thank you. Of course I'm one of the world's best players and honestly it was quite easy. After a few years of practice and watching back many of my matches I realized how great my balance and poise was...." This leads to about an hour long ramble, much to the horror of everyone else watching the stream. Kaiser doesn't care though. Someone, after all, is watching this on the other side of the stream and feeling very special having all his attention to themselves.
"Of course, it all comes from the hips, and if you didn't live so far away maybe I could demonstrate for you." he ends with a wink before seemlessly going back to the other commenters.

I'm not really sure what my favorite era would be. I don't know the eras from the discussion very well and I actually don't really think the way people tend to split up the channel into eras are usually that helpful (it usually ends up being "old disney" aka "what i watched as a kid" and "new disney" aka "things that came out after i stopped watching")
I like a lot of stuff from different points of the channels history! My favorite zoog disney era show is lizzie mcguire! I actually haven't rewatched all of phil of the future yet lol but I was watching it when I noticed the url was available. I really like a lot of the newer shows (sydney to the max, andi mack, and gabby duran are some of my favorites).

While it's been a hot minute since I watched the show (the second reason why I won't get rid of this side blog is that my hyperfixations hop from one fandom to the next but I tend to revisit past fandoms all the time so I'll pick it back up again in the future lol) but for the context of Rise is basically:
This rebooted version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles features the early teen years of Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo as they deal with both crime of the city and the crime from the hidden city under New York, where they get mystic ninja powers (all happened in the first episode).
They fight mutated monsters, rival ninjas, and other bad guys. As they explore and go on many adventures, they dive deeper into what's really going on and it reveals an ancient evil that might destroy everything. I don't wanna spoil anything so I'll just keep it at that.
The humor is so funny in this reboot and the animation is to DIE for! I grew up on the 90s movies, and the tv show in 2003 but I watched the 1987 series and read some of the comics. I really adore this reboot since I feel like it just has so much personality!
Every version has its pros and cons but I think watching Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first is a great start since it's stand-alone and you don't have to watch the other versions to understand what's going on. If you don't end up liking it, the best thing about the TMNT franchise is that there are SO MANY versions so you can explore what you might like! Hope this helps! :)

Hi! Happy Sunday! I'm glad you're feeling better. That's nice to hear. I'm okay and just used this weekend to relax. Haha wow..I don't actually know what Graceland is even about and I just knew that Aaron is in it but I hope it's a good show for you anyway lol. I haven't felt that invested yet honestly but I hope to listen to some cast recordings when they come out. I never did for last year though either. That's interesting about the reception though and I wonder why it's different. I'm surprised Back to the Future or the Notebook didn't get that many nominations but idk much about the shows that did yet. Gatsby was debatable and less likely based on reviews. I would say I'm most interested or rooting for the Outsiders at this point and I guess Merrily We Roll Along for best revival.
It's okay you don't like Sweeney but that was the first true musical I was obsessed with..like with the songs and score and noticing reprises and stuff. Same with the Newsies movie for me..I think the musical is better and have watched it tons of times. I was obsessed when the proshot came out. You made me laugh when you mentioned Mike Faist being in Newsies earlier this week cuz I also watched those videos a ton. I think I followed you when you had a beach read type url but I don't remember when that was.
Oh cool. I would like to read it since I haven't but I have so many books on my list right now first..some to read with my sister, and have not read a single book yet this year. But also Emily Henry's books seem great for summer too and Carley Fortune has a new book so i'm really hoping to get back to it soon, and maybe at some point I'll read Gatsby. I did not know that! I'm only familiar with the movie that had Leo playing him, so that's probably why I thought Isaac was pretty young. Do you like the Gatsby movie as an adaptation? I can't really remember but I think I liked it. I totally recommend the Outsiders book. Have you seen the movie? I thought the movie was a pretty perfect adaptation and I love it so much. I'm not sure how the musical will live up to it yet but it seems promising. Haha I guess your Gatsby is my The Outsiders..I remember reading it for English class and loving it and it also means a lot to me lol. I hope you like it if you do read it!
Idk what Water For Elephants got nominated for..if it was for best musical, but I think it has potential too. It's another one where I am only familiar with the movie that I only watched once a long time ago, but I think the circus stuff could be cool on stage. I'll try to listen to the cast recordings when they come out or possibly watch bootlegs and that could influence my opinions.
We have a lot of the same favorites! Unfortunately I was a little let down by the Manuscript, but it's growing on me. Do you mean more songs being performed on tour? I think it will be fun to see what the new costume or set looks like at least, but I hope she wouldn't cut a lot of songs for it, including Long Live. I do wonder if she will do more mashups again with new or old songs so we will see. It's only a few days away! But it makes it harder to guess surprise songs so maybe I'll wait and see what she does first. I hope you have a good week!

i'm so bad at watching television, but i haven't been reading as much lately which means i get more television time. i'm only on like, the eighth? episode of graceland, it's taking me a while to watch! and yes, aaron tveit is the sole reason i picked it up 🥴 incredibly humbling behavior. i wonder if back to the future would've done better if it opened in the spring vs. at the beginning of the season? i just feel like the state of theatre is kind of bleak right now (most shows need a stunt cast to stay open / to even open in the first place, everything is so expensive, so many limited runs have closed early, etc.) i'm definitely rooting for merrily for best revival! it's funny, i was reminiscing on when my friends and i were so into theatre and the tony awards that we essentially did tony betting in our friend group. i started compiling my tony predictions but have to do more research! we aren't doing tony betting anymore because a lot of the friend group stopped being as invested in theatre (as in not reading all the reviews, checking up on weekly grosses, etc.). what a time.

17. why i chose my url?: When I watched the first season of The White Lotus I fell in love with Armond (Murray Bartlett's character) and the [SPOILER] tragic trainwreck of sorts that he goes throughout the season [END OF SPOILER]. The whole introductory scene to Armond and The White Lotus resort has him telling Lani, a new trainee, that the White Lotus experience is nothing more than “tropical Kabuki,” with the staff serving as “pleasant interchangeable players”. I thought it was brilliant and so funny and for some reason my immediate thought was that it would make for a great social media username. So that's exactly what I used it for a few days later, when I was picking a url for this blog. I've ended up using it in a couple other places, too.
18. following: 66 blogs at the moment, mostly people that I share interests with or blogs about my favourite celebs/fandoms.
19. followers: 16. I'm not very active in here so I'm thankful for every person that follows me despite of that.

While I’ve had a fantastic time with the recent event and all the cool lore around it, I can’t help but find the new Obelisk dragons somewhat…… out-of-place. We see the god of earth himself sculpt them from stone, name and individualize each with his own hands, and the end result just… doesn’t really look like an ‘earth’ dragon.
I really do love the art we got- the flowing hair adds good motion and elegance to the breed, and their big lion paws are very cute (the hatchling pose is one of my favs now!). I just think the design would have been better suited for a different element overall.
I understand they’re based off of stone guardian lions, which is a neat art direction, buuut the species just seems ill-fitting for their rocky homeland (and totally unrelated to Snappers). They mostly just resemble stout tundra/ manticore hybrids to me? And given that tundras already have a cousin strongly resembling them, we don't particularly need a 'tundra v.3' (as the announcement url so helpfully explains lol.)
While the Obelisk’s encyclopedia entry isn’t out yet, I’ve tried to keep the design elements of the 'protector + harbinger’ role they’ve been tasked with. They’re large, stocky, and powerful, but also more suited to their environment & offering cover for their fellow dragons.
The threat the Obelisks need to defeat is an underground menace, unearthed from a deep series of caves. It seems to be able to move through stone? Or is somehow able to pull its prey through the earth- an Obelisk should be able to quickly pursue it! (If the art we got just at least had sturdy claws for digging I would be happy, lol. Feline claws would blunt far too quickly on stone!)
Here's a comparison between the claws of a tiger, and those of a brown bear. Notice that while both would be very good at murdering you, the bear's claws are longer & flatter, instead of being such a sharp, hooked shape. This makes them more efficient at moving earth, while also being lethal weapons!
The features I picked for this earthy-er design are general a mix of bear (1, 2, 3), ankylosaur (1, 2, 3), & armadillo (1, 2, 3) anatomy.
(Seriously, have you seen armadillo hands? The giant armadillo is such a perfect source of inspo for an earth dragon. Please put these claws on something, FR, I'm begging you.)
These Obelisks have well-muscled forelimbs, which are capped with long, flat claws. They have toughened hide plates running along their backs, with osteoderms lining their flanks. Their heads are flatter and wedge-shaped (though I’ve kept the under-bite, cute lil’ ears, and a bristly mane). Their tails are flattened into a spade- useful for defense, shoveling earth, or slamming into the ground to communicate. Lastly, their wings- they have 2 robust digits for tunneling, and the leathery membranes have been reinforced with fibers and scutes (this makes them pretty useless for flight, but perfect for defending smaller dragons).
These features are entirely directed by the Earthshaker's own words for what Obelisks were built to do. They need be able to:
1.) warn others of danger
2.) protect their kin

For this, they need to have strength, a range of defensive abilities, and the ability to combat a ground-based enemy. I think that being a 45-foot-long burrowing tank, with a hide of steel, and huge wings tough enough to stop arrows is the epitome of the earth's protectiveness and power.
Obelisks' armor is so thick and strong because it is made of love for their kin. How better to show the paternal affection of their father than to take an army's worth of blows for their family? While these guys might look scary, I think they're still gentle giants at heart.
Since they’re a newborn species with no known culture/ behavior of their own yet, they’re kinda… a blank slate rn (hopefully that lore article comes out soon). I see Obelisks as statuesque behemoths, watching over their tiny Snapper cousins as their clans travel across the steppes. Perhaps they use the pounding of their great weight to speak across vast distances, to warn other dragons whenever danger is near? Or maybe they can produce far-reaching, low-frequency rumbles, like elephants? I think the 'harbinger' aspect of their lore should be emphasized just as much as their 'guardian' qualities.

Well, even though I don’t dislike the Obelisks’ current design, I can only hope the next breed we get has a more… distinct elemental concept. (If I have to wait 10 years for water to get ’tundra but with a tail fin’……. sigh.)

*new* beyblade subs masterpost
hello again everyone! i've decided to make a whole new masterpost for my beyblade subs, all the links in the old one died like a century ago and i've wanted to do things a bit differently anyway and. stuff. i'm slowly working on editing and uploading new versions that will replace the old files, but the old files will be available here for all the episodes i haven't edited yet. (also i'm aware that there are other subs in existence by now too but i just like being thorough. plus i was asked to do this)
***what's different in the new versions***
- well first of all they're all available for hardsubbed streaming so you don't need to download anything to watch
- improved translation, a fixed arial round font, overall better readability, no colour coding (it was difficult to maintain what colours i actually wanted to use lol), no changing font sizes etc
- uniform spellings for all the names and terms (i try to go with what's more or less official. even though that's kinda elusive in this franchise but. anyway)
- karaoke effects for opening & ending themes.
in the old files, all of the above is just chaos with no coherence. that's why i'll be replacing them. it's going to take a while but i'm on it
the episodes are grouped in batches of tens below. google drive allows downloading an entire folder so you get the whole batch in one (depending on the folder view, the DL link changes places a bit but it's at the top of the screen). or you can also just pick individual episodes.

I'm happy, grateful even, that you didn't delete your blog. Truth be told I dug through your old posts as a way to cope with you leaving me. It was my lifeline. I remember one time I panicked bc ur url link stopped working and I thought you DID delete your blog. But all it was was a name change.

(I was going to try and make a decodable message using capital words but tbh I'm kinda tired of secrecies, I think I'll just spill my guts out lol)
I am sorry. I shouldn't have interfered in your life. I really did mean it that I felt a depression unlike anything else I've ever felt in my life. I had been bottling up my emotions and thoughts for so long it was killing me. That day I sent the first email I had the strongest urge to kill myself that I had ever experienced. It scared me. It wasn't like anything I had ever felt before. It felt like BLACK blood. Violent and unsettling. I don't know how to describe it other than it was terrifying.
So I had to talk to you. And while I was wondering about what you did with my bag and any other effects you have of me, and if you have started moving yet. It was mostly just an excuse to barge into your life again and maybe hear your voice.
I got that. And I even got to find out why you didn't pick up the phone when I called. For a while I wondered if things would be different if I tried harder. Maybe sending an email or Tumblr message to you, if that would have changed what we are right now. A dead relationship.
But it does nothing to dwell on that. I'll never know.
You said that you'll keep your blog open for people wanting to walk memory lane. And that the road ends there. On October 7th, 2021.

Because I truly meant it. I miss you. And I always will. I don't think my last email made it clear. But I don't miss you in a romantic way. No, I miss you in a much more... MORE kinda way. what's the nicest possible way to tell a close friend their roleplay blogs suck and if they want followers and interaction like they keep complaining about they have to actually put effort into it instead of just making blog after blog and slapping a character on it like that's they need to do. I've tried to suggest this to her before by comparing other blogs that play her muse but she just feels inadequate instead of inspired to emulate them which I understand but it's very frustrating when I suggest a million ways to make her blog better and she brushes them all off for one reason or another and I don't want to say anything because she's like a sister to me. sigh.
Unfortunately, the short answer to this is that there really isn't any way you can make her see this unless she's ready to see it.
But, I don't like giving those sorts of answers, they feel hopeless and shitty, so, let's try this...
Understanding what the problem with your friend and her connecting with this information is, is important. It might help in talking to her about the issue.
What I find in these instances, and a lot of similar ones, is that the mun is unhappy about the results but quite happy with the process. She's enjoying some part of this, it's just not the lack of interaction, obviously. It's the very things she's doing to turn people off of her muses.
I think a lot of people get kind of addicted to new muses. I mean, the entire process of having a new muse:
interest to outright fixation, no matter how short-lived, in a new, inspiring muse
who is almost certainly in a new fandom, and probably, one that is very busy and popular at the moment
"someone stop me" phase, even though they've already decided
picking the perfect URL, creating the new blog, making the graphics and batches of icons
reblogging All The Content about the new muse, at least, the visual content and maybe, a couple of "oof, right in the feels" style short meta posts
plugging the new muse on the old blogs, through friends, etc.

new mutuals! Shiny new meme asks in the inbox! New threads!
It's about the newness, the excitement, and the irrationally promising feeling that damn it, this time, the blog and muse is going to be successful, popular even, beloved, the actual favorite iteration of the character in the RPC. Like anything exciting, it's addicting for people. And like anything addicting, it can take hitting rock bottom and going several more feet down, a few times, before they're over it and want to change.
Which is, of course, where you come in with your as-yet failed RP interventions.
What makes what you're trying to do here very difficult is that there isn't a total bottoming out she's going to reach. There will always be something new and exciting coming out with a new and exciting muse that'll fix the problem, in her mind. There will always be the option and availability to create another blog, slap another muse on it, rinse and repeat. With shampoo and conditioner that never runs out.
You definitely had the right idea by trying to get her to contrast between why what she is doing isn't working the way she wants and why what someone else is doing is working out that way. It's just, as you found out, often not the best idea, no matter how well-intentioned it is. With her blogs constantly failing for reasons she refuses to believe, it's incredibly likely she's already done some comparison in all the wrong ways, ultimately going back and forth between blaming the other iterations, finding nothing but errors in the way they write the character and set up their blogs, and feeling depressed that she's not good enough, but they are.
So, you might have unintentionally inflamed all of this! She could be in a place where she's even more likely to believe that what she's doing is great as a defense mechanism for being hard on herself.
I'd also like to say that I'm aware the "right" advice here is, "there's nothing you can do, you'll just make her feel bad, people have a right to RP however they want." But, you're also her friend, and you have to be around the complaining and upset when this just keeps happening.
Furthermore, when we have very close friends like this, we automatically keep trying to fill in the gaps for them at cost to ourselves - every time they make another blog/muse, we get roped into writing things we know are just going to be dropped, making them things we know are going to left on a deserted blog, and so on. Eventually, it makes you feel bad about yourself because your efforts aren't good enough, either. It can really ruin the hobby for you, sucking away enjoyment and creativity you could be spending elsewhere.
I don't think you're wrong in trying to help both her and yourself.
Keep being honest with her. When she complains, be honest about why this is happening. And you can, indeed, be kind and honest!
Let's say that she says something about how she wrote all these opens and no one is going for them.
You could say something like, "that sucks. I liked this one, it's the one that feels and sounds like the character to me. What were you doing when you wrote that? You should rewrite the others to be a little more like that, I think people are looking for more of the character like we saw them in the series."
You're acknowledging that she's right, it does suck, it's a shitty feeling no matter how at fault for it she is. While pointing out something she did good (and, okay, maybe she didn't, maybe they all categorically sucked lol but find one that was even a tiny bit better/that has elements you can use to both boost her confidence and show her what is right, not just wrong). Then, giving her an idea - whatever she was thinking, watching, listening to at that time, she tapped into something more like the actual character, and she could do it again. And telling her what the problem is, at least with this, that people don't want a cardboard cutout muse, they want the one they like from the fandom book/show/movie.
No need to actually compare with another active mun and muse, or tell her that it's because what she's doing is terribly and driving you nuts. Even if both are true.
If she's the one that compares herself to another blog this time, seize the opportunity!
"Well, people like that the muse is developed and like the character they know. When you interact with another canon, don't you want them to be like the character you liked? You liked -current muse- for a reason. When I've felt like that, I reminded myself of why I was drawn to the character and worked harder on writing them accurately and getting their voice down. I think this other blog has done that and you haven't yet."
It's a little harsher, but she may very well only be looking for validation from you that this other blog actually sucks and she's doing great. A lot of complaints on tumblr are that - seeking validation, not help. The entire culture of that shit is not at all helpful. You don't want to try to sort of shock her out of it by being too harsh, but you do want to make it clear that you're not going to just give ass pats and tell her what she wants to hear.
You're telling her why this other blog is more successful, that the muse comes off as the character and is enjoyable to write with. Because the mun put in the effort to make them both accurate to the character and a muse that's fun/interesting/engaging to write with in RP.*
*Not all characters transfer over well to RP, either, and this might also be some of her problem. For whatever reason, some people are deeply drawn to the worst possible choices for them. They will find the least applicable character in a whole series, one with a billion characters that spans decades of material, plenty of viable options all around, but no, it's got to be this one. The one that's impossible for them to pull off, boring or disliked by the fandom, is incredibly difficult to interact with (think manic pixie bullshit, villains that are extreme loners, incredibly quiet and reserved characters, or those who are only ever seen in their canon to be bantering with friends and enemies - people they have established relationships with, unlike someone else's muse, even if that muse is a canonical friend or enemy), or is an active turn off in RP, like an outrageously overpowered character whose entire existence is based on being OP as fuck. That's going to be what they go for. Every. Damn. Time.
If you notice she's doing this, she could be compensating without even realizing it by turning the string of muses into identical and empty clichés she thinks people want to interact with, but that she can still handle writing. And unfortunately, your job is even harder, OP, because everyone has a character type...and your bestie's is Fucking Impossible to RP for 90% of the RPC Population Type lmao I'm...I'm so sorry.
Maybe if this is the case, you can get her to try out a different character that has some of the traits you've noticed she seems to always be drawn to, but without the complications. Work smarter, not harder, though! Propose this as you desperately wanting your muse to interact with x. Some people react very badly to being told "you'd write a great -muse name," others are flattered by it. If you don't know for certain that she'd be flattered, or at least not offended, that she doesn't hate this character or anything, do not say this. Just tell her that you love this character, you think she could handle them as a NPC in a thread, could she please try?
And make that the single most interesting thread in the history of threads. Specifically, for her. Give her tons of engagement with this NPC of the sort she tends to want the most. It might stick and reset some of her perspective on the types of characters she keeps choosing.
You're reminding her that she's a RPer, too, which sounds like a crazy thing to have to remind a RPer, but we do weirdly lose track of this. We get very invested in what we're putting out more than what we've successfully been given, especially when we're not being given much of what we want. So, you're prodding her to recall that there are two parts of this equation, she's been on the side of it - she's wanted to interact specifically with a canon muse because she loved the character/ship with hers/whatever, and has, as we all have, experienced both the disappointment of running through a ton of them who just are not that character and also finding the version that very much is.
This helps to put other people back into perspective in a way that isn't just "interactions." (Read as "desired attention." Which isn't a slam, it's true. It's also not a problem, we all are here to interact, we all enjoy having devoted mutuals and such. It's only a problem when we stop seeing them as anything other than a means to an end for ourselves.) She might be able to relate to them, thus, why they don't like her muses, if she can put herself back into their shoes.
You stick with that and transition it into why she picked the current muse. It's the same deal, there was something about the muse that sparked interest, creativity, etc. What was it? Something that isn't there, or there enough, in her writing. In all the excitement of muse-creation, she's probably let whatever it was slide right out the door. If you can get her to recall that feeling of interest and identify for herself what all triggered it, she might be able to stick with it.
And you've encouraged her again to give people what they want if she wants interactions by developing her muses. You've also done so, if it all applicable and true, by using yourself here, making it feel like not just a common problem, but one experienced and overcome by someone she cares about and trusts.
She might have an issue with needing a lot of high-interest, high-reward scenarios, too.
This is a high-effort, minimum reward situation for her. A lot of us in the RPC have shit like ADHD that can really make this difficult once we're experiencing it in this way, but even those who don't absolutely fall into it as well. So, you'll need ways to make it fun, but...I think if you can sort of kindly trick her into experiencing the effort as its own reward, it'd go a long, long way.
I can't really say what I do, having this problem with high-effort, minimal reward because I don't tend to experience that in RP. The writing is the reward for me, as much as I lose it utterly with happiness every time a writing partner is loving what I've given them. My reward system is set up around the writing and exploring characters. Hers seems to be set up around the reaction to it and amount of engagement with it. You need to try to use the latter to give her some of the former.
If she likes Halloween or Christmas, Fall or Winter, this could be your way into doing it!
Get her hyped about a seasonal prompt list you're doing. This does, yeah, mean you will have to do it, too lol but in the end, any time you aren't able to produce something daily like these lists usually are set up for, you're showing her that it isn't a job she's got to fulfill - the rules are only as strict as she wants to make them for herself. And if you keep yours short and fun, she'll feel like it's perfectly fine and good to do it this way as well. That it doesn't need to be a damn masterpiece or anything, just fun, something different to show off her muse.
While what she's actually doing, in addition to that, is getting in touch with and developing her muse. Importantly, when we write in a way that is just for ourselves like this, we tend to kind of...bond, for lack of a less weird sounding way of putting it, with a muse. It makes them stick with us longer, raising their importance and easier availability to us.
Let her know you're doing this, pick one out you genuinely like, and don't expect her to be down with it immediately. It's work with no foreseeable reward. Except, it's very hard to listen to our friends be excited, proud of themselves, enjoying themselves without wanting to join in. It'll be especially helpful, though, if you think people you interact with will like the posts and comment on them, or even try to turn them into threads if you include their muses (with their consent, of course, and no pressure). If she sees that, it might make it even more interesting to her. You might also have to pose this as her helping you out, that you don't think you'll get more than two done if she isn't doing it as well, as a sort of a challenge she can hold you to.
Whatever you think might work best for engaging her, you know her well, you can do it!
Be there to help her out with ideas if she goes for it. Throw out some easy, fun suggestions you think she might like, that even give her some opportunity to write something with her muse that she doesn't get a chance to. Pull from the muse's canon, is there something in their canon that goes with the prompt word "snow," for instance? Is it something she enjoyed about the canon story? Suggest it. Thinking about both the muse and your friend, is there something else that came to mind about that prompt you could suggest? Do it!
Again, whatever she's most into, it's an angle. Humor? Her serious muse is forced into a ridiculous, funny situation that involves the snow. Angst? A sad memory associated with the snow. Shipping? A romantic, fluffy scene (or steamy one). And so on.
Be there to express interest and encouragement while she's doing it. Don't do things that are going to come off as pressuring or helicopter moming her, of course! Like, asking how much she's gotten done, did she start working on it yet? That's a bad idea, unless she enjoys that sort of thing. Instead, tell her how much you can't wait to see this, ask about how it's going, tell her about yours to encourage her to talk about it.
And be there to be her audience when she posts it. This really seems to be her highest reward, so give it to her. Like the post, comment on the post, tell her in messages. Not individually, all of those things. If you can find a way to that doesn't mess up what you've got going on with your blog, mutuals, other friends, etc., mention it on your blog.
At this point, people might be both aware of her RP habits and wary of engaging with her, but someone might bite if you're enthused and go like the post. If it's applicable, make some jokes about it on the dash, turn it into a moment of inside joke-like crack for people to see. Mention that she wrote this and you loved it, link it or outright reblog her post. Hell, mention that you and her are doing such and such prompts for whatever holiday or season before the fact, that way, it doesn't come out of nowhere to your mutuals, either. Again, if applicable, you can ask to turn it into a thread.
The point, at this juncture, isn't to attract people to her blog and posts, it's to demonstrate to her that this is fun and rewarding. If you can get people to go like the posts, great, but you can only count on yourself to do it at first.
Most people enjoy those sorts of prompts on their dash from mutuals, though. You're always going to have some who feel like it's annoying because it wasn't strictly a RP reply, but whatever, they're not the majority in most fandoms anymore, thankfully. Point is, it's literally showing her mutuals that she's capable of thinking as her muse and working on her muse. It's showing off good things and making her muse more interesting and uniquely hers in a good way. And it's totally possible that she's going to organically generate likes, people wanting to use this as a plot with her for RP, and mutuals who are increasingly following along with every post made.
The hope is that she experiences the beginnings of more interest in the muse than she does making muses, gain some confidence in doing this with the enjoyment of it, and stick with a muse longer than five seconds so that she can actually end up with the interactions she wants.
There are definitely other ways of doing this, the prompt thing just came to mind because it's major prompt season. You've got a prompt list floating around for literally every popular point of interest right now, from whump to extreme fluff to horror to humor. And it's going to keep going until January. It's also something that can be as short as a paragraph or as long as several thousand words, and that a hell of a lot of people don't do all of. So, it's easy, so long as she's got a reason to find it interesting and stay on course with it even a little bit.
You could also try getting her into doing something like moodboards for her muse but with little additions of writing that go along with them. Nothing major, just things like a quote from her muse or a sentence from a starter, thread, whatever.
So long as you can get her to start refocusing on RP being enjoyable from the inside and not just the outside, it's valid as hell to try it! She seems to be experiencing RP as instant gratification and basing that gratification on things she can't control, like popularity.
Right now, even giving her the sober truth that one can write the best version of a canon muse there is to be found, be someone enjoyable and interesting in OOC interactions, and be an amazing writer without that being enough to garner popularity, or even the plots that are wanted. That being a very popular RPer and having more interactions than you know what to do with (honestly sucks ass) isn't a set of absolute values, but rather, variables that are always in flux and often, totally mysterious. It's usually a mixture of total luck, visual appeal, and both mun being on point with what people want to see right this second and muse being the mixture of fanon that is desirable, also, right at this exact second. It is seriously not within anyone's control, no matter how much effort, quality, or even outright bullshit they have to put out there.
If she's ever going to stick to a muse and not find herself envious, upset, and bored it's absolutely got to come from herself. She's got to be popular with herself, enjoying herself regardless of what others are seemingly achieving or want to give her. It's not going to be recognized no matter how harsh or sweet you are about the problem, unless she's capable of really looking at those problems as problems, and I don't think she's going to get to that point through negatively bottoming out. She might get there through the opposite, though!
It's...just going to take a lot of effort and patience from you, with no expectation of reward yourself.
Because it's still likely as hell it's just not going to happen. And while it seems like you are the kind of friend who would find the effort worth it because you care and are invested in her, please know that there's no shame in merely contemplating this and noping right out.
You've got a life and are trying to enjoy the hobby as well! And if it seems like something that could sour your friendship? It's not worth it. You're better off just accepting that she'll inevitably tire of doing this and move on to another hobby, maybe decide to do fandom blogs or something instead that you can support her in.
It's definitely an unenviable and frustrating position you're in. All you can really do is try not to let this negatively impact the friendship, to keep refraining from just outright telling her things she'd find hurtful, and try your best to show her that it's rewarding to develop the muse and stick with it, not a task. That there are improvements she can make to her blog, and that it isn't a negative reflection on her that they can be made. You can try all the compassionate trickery in the world to lead her there, but it's ultimately up to her whether she brushes this off as well, don't let it hurt your feelings or exasperate you too much!
Also, it's totally possible that even if you met through RP and/or it has been a big part of the friendship, you might have grown in different directions in the hobby.
Growing within the hobby is inherent to any hobby you stick to for long enough, especially if you started out in it young. Some people seamlessly just keep growing to things that make them happy, others experience a lot of growing pains along the way as they're maybe ready for change, but only in select areas they have to discover for themselves. Still others grow in a way that doesn't make them very happy, but they're both not ready (or willing) to approach why and what they can do, and also still too attached to the good times they had to reassess whether it's still something they want to do, or if it's something better moved away from into something else.
That's always very difficult as a friend. Difficult in watching your friends not go the same directions as you anymore, even in something as comparatively silly as a hobby, in seeing them not enjoying themselves, and in the possibility that it could signal the end of enjoying the hobby with them. It's sad and frustrating, and can feel lonely, but if you're close enough friends, you've got so many other things to still be good friends over, so keep that in mind!
She might need to keep doing this with her blog and muse situation until she comes not to the realization that she needs to change how she's RPing to get what she wants, but rather, that she wants to stop RPing. That could be the burnout that happens here eventually, but again, not only can you still be great friends, if it makes her happier, it's good.

Hi! I'm so sorry you had to cancel your plans! That sucks..I hope it was still okay. My sister and I have decided to wait to make our resolutions until February cuz January will be a stressful month lol but I'm happy to hear them if you wanna share.
Oh I'm glad they still liked the movie.haha I just learned that My family doesn't even know who Timothee Chalamet is..so I find that pretty funny but they said that Wonka seemed interesting once I explained it to them. I'm still not sure about it yet but wanna watch eventually. I liked the In The Heights movie well enough but they also made a few changes and cut a few songs cuz they cut her mom out of the movie. I looked at the Mean Girls tracklist very briefly and probably won't until I watch it. But Not my Fault is growing on me now and there was a video for it that just got released that I watched. You can share your thoughts about it though..cuz I guess it's not really a spoiler anyway. To me, it seemed like they kept all the main songs..the ones I knew the most so I think it will be fine. I wanna see it but don't know if I will be able to at this point unfortunately. I think I would pick piano..or whichever one would be easier I guess..but I don't think I would like holding a guitar for a long time and my fingers might hurt lol. I feel the same way about learning and not being good..that's why I never really tried it.
I'm glad you liked Funny Story! I would love to hear more about it and what to expect. Which of her books is it most similar to in your opinion? I saw someone say the main male character was similar to Nick from New Girl so maybe I will picture that couple when I read it but I have no idea if that's true lol. I totally recommend the show in case you haven't seen it. I think I'm most similar to January I guess and also like Beach Read the best so far too. I just realized you decided to reread Beach Read cuz her name is January lol. Did you forget to listen to Brand New Eyes or did you already know it? I think All I wanted is my all time favorite song of theirs. For After Laughter, my favorites are Hard Times, Rose Colored Boy, Told You So, 26, Fake Happy and Tell Me How. What about you? I'm so excited to see you listen to This is Why..I think it's one of their best albums. Then of course there is also her solo albums too which I love. I'm glad you are deciding to do it! I have plenty of recommendations to share if you want.So I made a top albums and songs list for the year finally and I guess we can start there. I will just share some of my top albums for now but let me know if you also want songs. They aren't really in order or anything..it's more like a list lol. And some you have already heard. So..Speak Now TV/1989 TV of course, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Maisie, Lana, Olivia, Hozier, Noah Kahan, Mileys album, Holly Humberstone, Troye Sivan, Ellie Goulding, Aly and AJ, Laufey, Niall Horan and Kelly Clarkson. I also like everyone that was nominated for Grammys like Ed Sheeran or Boy Genius and Jon Batiste. Now for the artists you don't know..which are more alternative, Movements, Pierce the Veil, and Slowdive. I might see Movements in March so I'm excited. I listened to all their albums and there's only 3 but I like their new one but I would recommend their old songs Fever Dream and Daylily too. My favorite album from Slowdive is Souvlaki. Some more are The Beaches, Cannons, Misterwives and Plain White Ts. There is also Bethany Cosentino from the band Best Coast who had her own solo album but I would also recommend everything from Best Coast cuz I loved them for years and they're similar to Paramore. I think they opened for them before and her and Hayley are good friends. Also everything from Soccer Mommy who is also like Paramore..all her music is so comforting to me, but she had an album last year if you don't wanna hear everything. Lights is also one of my favorites and had an album last year and pretty similar in sound. Same with Bad Suns. Idk if you care about the Cure or the Smiths. The Smiths only have four albums but also unreleased songs and I mostly just have favorite songs compared to picking their best album or anything so I can give you my favs if you want cuz idk if you even like that music. Disintegration by the Cure is kinda my comfort album lol and I like the album Wish. Overall though..I am just more of a favorite songs person than album. This is long and maybe I should have put it in a separate ask lol. I'm sure I'm forgetting some but there will always be more to recommend anyway. There is also of course twenty one pilots!
But first I forgot to ask you what you would think or want for Taylors next album? Since you asked me and I was just making a guess mostly. I also hope she goes to the golden globes and wins tonight! But I will share the similarities between Taylor and twenty one pilots. I already mentioned they both have Christmas songs and they also have a lyric similar to and I will hold onto you from New Years Day. It's and I'll be holding on to you from their song Holding on to you which is the first song I ever heard from them and it's still one of my favorite songs. Its from before new Year's Day came out so just a cool coincidence. They also both have a self titled album as their first album. But everyone in Taylors fandom calls it debut while top fans always say self titled lol. Technically Tyler has solo album called No Phun Intended from when he was 17 and if you count that..they match with debut and Fearless, so debut doesn't even match with self titled lol. Then they have an unreleased album you can search on YouTube called Regional at Best which I guess is Speak Now..only fans appreciate the album. Vessel is Red..fan favorite and popular songs. Blurryface is 1989..mainstream with singles and also won Grammys..gained a lot of new fans. Trench is reputation..darker sound and vibe to the album. Their most recent album is similar to Lover..pink and blue on the cover and overall happier album with mixed fan reactions. So now I'm really curious what their new album will be like. We know it will be a little darker cuz it will be the final chapter of Blurryface and Trench which has to do with the lore. That's a whole other thing I can explain if you want in the next ask but you can still listen to the music without knowing it. These are just the basic similarities and I hope it makes sense. I think in the future, I will try to send shorter responses in general and because I'm still busy right now and will be until end of January. i haven't listened to not my fault yet! i think i might wait for the entire soundtrack to be out (it might already be out; i'm behind on things) before listening to it? but i'm also thinking maybe i should just wait until i watch the movie, even if i don't know when that'll be ... i do wish they kept more is better; i think that's the only song in there that i actively miss, because i think it was like, pretty important for cady's breakthrough/character development. i'm sure they'll have some sort of scene that replaces it though!
i loved funny story! it's definitely in my top 3 emily henry books — which is saying something because nothing will ever beat my top two favorites (beach read + book lovers)! i'm trying to figure out what i can say about it without giving tooooo much away, but i do think that the love interest kind of gave off nick miller vibes! i watched a season and a half of new girl, maybe a bit more? i never finished it, but i definitely watched some episodes here and there and liked what i saw. and that's okay! i have not started my starless sea reread officially, but i also don't think i'll have a lot of ~ sit and annotate ~ time this month, so it might take a while before i finish it! i'm going to change my url after i finish answering this ask <333 !!!
i listened to brand new eyes already! i don't think i told you though!! my favorites from it were careful, misguided ghosts and all i wanted. just looked through my hobonichi and it looks like it was my january 2nd album (although i've been doing more than one album a day, most days) and i listened to this is why when it first came out, but think i will give it another listen this week! i will add the albums i do not know to my list of albums to listen to, thank you!! 🤍 i think i might slow down a bit and listen to fall out boy's stuff next (and then all of their openers, because i forgot they have like ... three openers) and i want to study their music before my concert but then i'll go back to listening to all the other recs!! i have heard of a few albums you've mentioned, and there's some artists you talked about that i do love as well 🤍 !!! especially holly and noah :")
i think for taylor's next album, i'd love to see something more centered around stories? if that makes sense! i listened to the new troye sivan album yesterday, and was reading the apple music interview description (yes i am an apple music user) and he said that “There’s 10 stories, 10 moments,” and then goes to share a bit about each song, which i think was really cool! i think i care less about the sound and would just love to see another long pond situation? not necessarily in orchestrations/arrangements (which i do love!) but in terms of getting to hear taylor talk about the music more.
