#Marvel #Marvel comics #Marvel 616 #Vengeance of the Moon Knight #Vengeance of the Moon Knight vol. 2 #Vengeance of the Moon Knight 2024 #Moon Knight comics #latest release #Soldier #Tigra #Greer Nelson #I love this distinction between what Moon Knight does/did in vol. 9 compared to other heroes #don’t get me wrong I obviously love Spider-Man (and only to a slightly lesser extent Daredevil) but this is a cool difference #feels a little more grounded almost like community defense as opposed to a high-flying cape issue #also fascinating comparing to a drug implying these low level villains are thrill seekers/adrenaline junkies #but most critically…hmmm….this may just be more indicative of my own perspective than anything (bear with me)#but interestingly those last two text boxes on finding the balance between keeping a group too scared to make a move #and not so scared that they get desperate/have nothing left to lose #is very similar to the basis of a theory of counterinsurgency #that an iron fist can keep a group from developing means + will to organize but the ruling regime must be careful #to not be too cruel or else it will push the group into survival mode/win it sympathy from the local or international population #(it’s very reminiscent of Machiavelli’s The Prince)#Mind you it’s a theory usually entertained by authoritarian regimes where people have few de facto civil rights #and its efficacy/sustainability’s debatable as it takes one hiccup with the regime (markedly weak ruler/secession crisis/natural disaster/#excessive use of force/etc) for the insurgency to flair up again #Marc’s past with the CIA is mentioned in this issue so I wonder if that’s what this is all about #but uuuuuh yeah do with that info what you will sorry hahaha #don’t mind me rambling in the tags

(And NEVER took an art class. That’s fucking what- 💀 I need to take one I actually need to at this point-)

Also also also- I’ve learned a lot of things! Anatomy, exaggerative expression, stretchy cartooniness, ALL OF THESE ARE JUST- I can’t believe I’ve learned all this because one day I decided: “Maybe I should ACTUALLY get a social media for my art? 🤔” AND I DID IT AND CHANGED MY LIFE‼️‼️‼️

and everything is perfect—until it’s not. until he beds you one day and it’s not as special or magical as you were anticipating it to be. he’s kinda…strange, in a sense, when he fucks you. oddly quiet, like he’s holding back, his hands just a little too tight, his eyes too focused on random parts of your body.

but you sleep with him again and again, until he starts becoming real comfortable with you. almost too comfortable, let’s how weird and strange and almost scummy he really is start to shine through, let the mask he’d be unknowingly wearing this entire time slip away.

“What if we were siblings?” Gojo asks you one night when he’s fucking your brains out. he’s gotten better over these few months, gotten looser and more comfortable. too fucking comfortable.

Heyoooo. I wanted to say, I'm sorry about that mean-ass, insulting anon you got a while back. That ask ended up pissing me off so bad I ended up actually reading your Marchil analysis posts. Originally, I was meh and kinda confused when the ship showed up in Ao3 because I didn't see what people liked about it. Reading your posts about how they were narrative foils opened my mind more, and I realized, Oh shit yeah there's a lot of potential in this ship for how these two can develop each other.

Part 2: Marcille and Chilchuck may not have scenes like the infamous bath scene with Farlin, but the concept of someone who's terrified of being alone, the reality of her friends' mortality, a hopeless romantic catching feelings for a repressed, divorced man whose wife left him--okay yeah, I absolutely understand the appeal of this ship. Marcille would be like, Why the fuck is my heart thrumming for this sharp-tongued bitch, and also the terror from falling in love with someone so short-lived Part 3: Either way, love your analysis posts. I am going to be contemplating the potential of Marcille and Chilchuck for a long while. There is something so tragically sweet about it

You get it, you really do… I could list off everything I love about them but I’d be here forever because it’s literally everything and there are so many fun ways to spin it… You’re very right about them being tragically sweet, overall where their arcs meet the most is "Loving is something worth doing even with the risk of loss", and I say risk but really it’s more the inevitable eventuality of it as canon does love to point out. If you want the reward of being loved you must go through the mortifying ordeal of being known. No love however brief is wasted. Let me see you and stay. It’s very much sort of the final boss to their arcs for them to get invested in each other in such a way, to get involved romantically— emotionally with someone knowing what’s coming and that she barely has two decades left with him (who mistreats his health so much he very well could die early), and to shoot your shot for something new with hope in your heart and enough confidence that you’re worth loving. He’s not a prince charming but to her he sort of is, all virtuous husband this reliable dependable Chilchuck that, all "you may be flawed but I’ll still romanticize your qualities and convince you that you and your love for your beloved are something worth fighting for".

What if I was old bread that solidified to be hard as rock and you were like warm soup and by soaking in your presence I softened……… What if you stubbornly grew on me like yeast and it brought out my flavor like beer as I opened up and allowed you in………. I think the reason “Ride the Cyclone and Cats are kind of the same musical” bothers me so much is because that argument almost always uses the “the Jellicle Ball is a competition and everyone who sings a song wants to be the Choice” interpretation of Cats which, while I 100% accept it as one of many valid interpretations, is a reading of the show I dislike with a passion

#cats the musical #it makes me feel Bad Religion Feelings #usually thinking about the Everlasting Cat and the Jellicles as a religious group makes me happy #but this interpretation of what the Jellicle Choice *is* and *means* just makes me uncomfortable #I kind of think it has a hint of suicidal ideation #like ‘I’m willing to throw away the rest of my life for a new life that I will then also be throwing away just to be The Choice’#it’s like they want to be the choice simply *to be the choice*#they don’t need any motivation they just want to be picked as The Best Cat #no matter what they might lose in the process #but that is also based on *my* interpretation that most cats don’t keep any memories #gay little ramblings #the man over there #this warrants that tag cause I basically only see people outside the fandom make this comparison #the Jellicle Choice in my mind is a guarantee that you’ll be reborn *specifically* as a Jellicle - but all cats are reborn 9 times #they just might not be a member of the Jellicle Clowder in their next life #it’s a reassurance that there will be people who are there for you on the other side #that why I only see Griz and Gus as ‘competing’ (though I really don’t see it as a competition at all)#Grizabella doesn’t have anyone now and Gus might not have anyone much longer #for everyone else it feels like they want to be the choice Just Because #and that feels a bit cult-y #‘we want the religious reward because we’re supposed to want it’#and as much as I love the ‘the Jellicles are a death cult’ jokes (I don’t)#I really feels like it has uncomfortable implications for the Jellicle as a family #as a community
