Don Cheadle film “Miles Ahead” is based on the iconic jazz musician ‘Miles Davis. His role as War Machine is popular in the Marvel Universe, and the hit series Black Monday, has brought the best out of Don Cheadle artistry, as he plays Mo Monroe the lead character of the show.
Cheadle extended his global recognition with his role as James “Rhodey” Rhodes / War Machine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe beginning with Iron Man 2, and garnered a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for his guest appearance as the character in the Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He will lead the film Armor Wars as part of the franchise.

RESIDENT EVIL 2: LIVE ACTION FAN CAST
SYDNEY SWEENEY as CLAIRE REDFIELD
She physically suits the role (just add some hair dye and we’ll be golden), and she’s proven her acting to be absolutely phenomenal. I would love to see her in an action/horror role like resident evil (Sydney as a badass motorcycle chick? Yes PLEASE). Plus she actually looks closer to Claire’s age (19 years old), unlike Kaya Scodelario, who was around 28 and playing a 19 year old, like tf?
Tumblr media
LUCKY BLUE SMITH as LEON KENNEDY
This one was a lot harder seeing as how Leon’s looks are one of his most iconic aspects (the baby blue eyes and the emo hair). It’s a shame that Eduart Badaluta doesn’t act. Jensen Ackles also would’ve been an amazing choice if he wasn’t too old to play a 21 year old. But after some digging, I found Lucky Blue Smith! And just to be sure, I photoshopped him into to make sure he suited the look too!
Tumblr media
MCKENNA GRACE as SHERRY BIRKIN
Now this is one I don’t need to explain, nor will I take any arguments on this. Just look at their comparisons, then look at Mckenna’s talent. End of story.
Tumblr media
HO-YEON JUNG or ANGELABABY as ADA WONG
For Ada, my initial idea was Ho-Yeon Jung because she just has that badass/sexy/spy look to her. She looks like she would screw me over but in a way that would leave me still in love with her (looks at Leon). Also, her in Squid Games is just *chefs kiss*, she’s fucking amazing and her talent is through the roof! But I figured this would be disrespectful to Ada’s Chinese heritage since Ho-Yeon is South Korean. So after much digging I found Angelababy, who is the closest to the Ada image that I could find. While I still prefer Ho-Yeon, Angelababy is a way to respect Ada’s Chinese roots.
Tumblr media
DON CHEADLE or COLMAN DOMINGO as MARVIN BRANAGH
Don is an under-utilised actor in my opinion, and after seeing his work in the MCU I would love to see him in more big projects. I think he could really play out Marvin’s character extremely well, and he was my first thought for his casting.
Colman was in Fear the Walking Dead for starters, and I love what I’ve seen of him in Euphoria so far. I can really picture him in this role both aesthetically and character wise. He looks quite like Marvin in this picture (on the right to Marvin) that I actually did a double check on whether he did the model for him.
Tumblr media
GILLIAN ANDERSON as ANNETTE BIRKIN
No explanation needed. She fits both aesthetically and talent wise, especially if you’ve seen her in The Great or Sex Education.
Tumblr media
OWEN WILSON as WILLIAM BIRKIN
Not that Owens face would be utilised much since William kinda becomes an unrecognisable monster, but Owen fits both aesthetically and he’s a talented actor.

Rewatching Ducktales 2017 and y'know what, they should have left Don Cheadle as Donald's voice actor after the season 1 finale, if not him at least another normal voice actor who sounds similar. There I said it!
I know it's the iconic Donald Duck voice but it works with some cartoons and I just think it didn't work with DT 2017, I've always thought he didn't get enough screentime for that reason. If I can't understand him half the time I can't imagine kids did and the producers knew it.

boogie nights (1997)
if there will be blood didn’t exist, this would be my top PTA movie, but TWBB is a 10/10 movie so it takes a close second. i think what i really love about PTA movies is that he captures the pastiche of whatever time period he’s set the film in. it’s not that he’s 100% accurate in terms of the facts of how things were or looked like during that time but it just *feels* so real overall in terms of looks and feeling and attitude. costuming was perfect of course, esp don cheadle, whose character was also really cool because you understood he was part of this adult film world but he was never shown explicitly doing anything and never even talked about his time in it until near the end of the movie. i’d have to say scotty was my favorite character, he was the perfect background character and i always enjoyed just taking note of whatever he was doing behind everyone else. mark wahlberg was bearable to look at because of how young he was and PTA pulled a decent performance out of him which is more than you can say for most of his acting career. there were so many familiar faces in the movie that it was cool to pick out all of them throughout the runtime, which was long but appropriately so. i don’t care about rating movies but it’s close to 10/10

memories of murder (2003)
this isn’t an original observation but what makes this film so good and timeless beyond the real-life case that this movie is based on is that the actual murder mystery is just a vehicle to explore character relationships and sociopolical issues. bong joon-ho is always gonna be more concerned with those aspects of a movie over trying to make a documentary-type film, which makes this movie more thrilling and cutting-edge than most of the true crime schlock that’s been released in the past decade or so. song kang-ho sort of plays a similar character to his character in parasite, where he’s just blindly defiant and arrogant without a lot of actual smarts to back that attitude up, but he plays that character very well so it was a delight to see him again. i don’t think it’s my favorite of bong joon-ho’s but i really liked it

synecdoche, new york (2008)
i'm gonna be real i didn't "get" the movie while watching it in the moment, because my head was spinning trying to keep up with the plot and the characters. not to sound reddit but it seriously got so meta i was kind of just in awe at how many layers deep the narrative got. afterwards sean explained it to me and i was like oh yea duh lol that makes sense and i sort of saw it along the way, i just hadn't put all the pieces together. i've only seen 1.5 of kaufman's other movies but despite how much shit caden goes through this movie ironically seems like one of the more hopeful movies of kaufman's career. it's funny that sean and i watched two philip seymour hoffman movies in one week; for a long time all i knew him from was the hunger games because i was still a young teen when he passed, but seeing these movies really makes me appreciate the work he did as an actor and how unfortunate it is that he passed fairly young. that all being said, i'm thinking of ending things is still my favorite kaufman so far lol

i am here … now (2010) and fateful findings (2013)
i watched these masterpieces with some friends over discord and it was a blast. i had already seen fateful findings but hadn't seen IAH...N and though i still think fateful findings is the funniest breen movie i've seen so far i had a lot of fun watching both. if you've never heard of neil breen or his movies, you need to check them out, preferably with friends (and, if it's your thing, while drinking or high) because they are iconic

Secret Invasion
[3.5 stars]
There are three reasons to watch Secret Invasion.
Olivia Colman
The return of Nick Fury and insights into his life that hold this limited series together.
It utterly remakes the last 7 or 8 years of stories with a swing-for-the-fences retcon you need to know if you are going to continue watching anything in the MCU.
You may have noticed that none of them are for the writing, sadly. Much of the dialogue and plotting is just painful at times. But there are some wonderful acting aspects. Colman (Puss in Boots: The Last Wish), for instance, is a bloody riot in the show while remaining coldly effective. I can’t imagine we won’t be seeing more of her, whether in the flicks or the tie-in series. And Samuel L. Jackson (Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard) gets to expand on his iconic character in new and interesting ways, especially as relates to Charlayne Woodard (Pose).
Emilia Clarke (Last Christmas) delivers her role fine, as do many others. Hers has some range, but despite the setup, not a ton of meat. Other actors don’t fair as well. Don Cheadle (White Noise) is just off-leash for most of the run. And Kingsley Ben-Adir (Soulmates), as much as I appreciate his work generally and his efforts here, is likewise too extreme and foolish for his character goals.
Basically, this is an essential series to see, but not a great show. Creator Kyle Bradstreet took up the source material but squeezed it into too short an arc. Forgetting even the base writing issues, this forced director Ali Selim’s hand with rhythm and plot shifts. We are being asked to swallow a LOT of new information. If you aren’t deeply immersed into the MCU timeline, it is a challenge to follow and you may find yourself consulting the gods of the internet frequently for previous events and when they happened.
See this for the performances that make it worthwhile, and the shift in the reality of just about half the MCU movies. It isn’t a loss of a show; there is plenty to keep you entertained. But even though it arrived with much hype and anticipation, it left a bit more quietly. How that is even possible given how much it effects is another measure of its poor execution.

Ana de Armas plays Marilyn Monroe in the controversial Netflix movie, Blonde. The upcoming film is a fictionalized version of the iconic Hollywood star, but Monroe fans have already found plenty to complain about after a new trailer was released last week. One of the most glaring issues (according to fans), is that the Hispanic-Cuban de Armas seems to have trouble making her accent sound similar to Monroe's distinctive voice. But de Armas isn't the only actress who has struggled with her character's accent, even with the help of a dialect coach. Here are 12 memorable examples of movie accents gone wrong. Anne of Arms in Blonde (2022) Andrew Dominik's film about Marilyn Monroe has yet to be released and its leading lady, Ana de Armas, is already facing criticism for her accent. De Armas said she underwent "nine months" of training with a dialect coach to play the sex symbol born in Los Angeles, but Monroe fans are convinced she could have trained a few more, if the trailer is to be trusted. Ana De Armas as Marilyn Monroe in 'Blonde' (Netflix) Lady Gaga in House of Gucci (2021) Lady Gaga said she inhabited the character of Patrizia Reggiani (the wife of Maurizio Gucci, whom she murdered in 1995) for a year and a half, using the accent for nine months on and off screen. Unfortunately, the result of all this method work was an accent that the film's own dialect coach described as "more Russian" than Italian. a pity literally everyone in Wild Mountain Thyme (2020) Wild Mountain Thyme is a romantic drama that, thanks to the surreal accents of its protagonists, broke the Internet when its trailer was published. The film, starring Emily Blunt and Jamie Dornan, is a real horror feast for its bad accents. Set on a mystical Irish farmhouse in an unrecognizable year (is it 2019 or 1953? Who knows!), the film features an incredibly talented all-star cast who mercilessly pummel an Irish accent beyond recognition. Christopher Walken strives to be from Mullingar, but sounds more like “the pirate Christopher Walken”; Blunt's is disconcerting; then there's Jamie Dornan, who is really Irish, but sounds like someone who's never set foot in the country. Jamie Dornan and Emily Blunt in 'Wild Mountain Thyme' (Lionsgate) Anne Hathaway in one day (2011) Anne Hathaway is an actress of undoubted talent, but whichever way you look at it, Hathaway's starring role as a Yorkshire girl doesn't sound like a recipe for success. And she wasn't. The film boasts an impressive 36 percent review score on Rotten Tomatoes, thanks in part to Hathaway's cartoonish English accent. She despite claiming that she had seen Emmerdale To prepare for the role, Hathaway tries "one of the most pathetic Yorkshire accents you've ever heard," according to the critic of The Telegraph Robby Collin. Russell Crowe in Robin Hood (2010) Russell Crowe, normally a safe choice for a historical British accent, was widely derided for his portrayal of Robin Hood in Ridley Scott's 2010 action flick. Crowe vacillated between Irish, Yorkshire and his native New Zealand accents. , leaving viewers baffled. Crowe even stormed out of a BBC interview with Mark Lawson after the journalist suggested his character sounded Irish. Years later, Crowe would reveal that his main inspiration for the accent was...Michael Parkinson. Which explains a lot, actually. Russell Crowe swore after a BBC presenter suggested details of his Robin Hood accent didn't sound English (AP) Don Cheadle in the trilogy of oceans (2001, 2004, 2007) Another brilliant American actor victim of the British accent. Cheadle's accent for the scam trilogy sounded like East London, but comically exaggerated. In 2008, Cheadle pleaded: “Forgive me! I will not do". What a relief. Nicholas Cage in Corelli's Mandolin (2001) If you've seen this movie, you'll find it hard to believe that Cage is of Italian descent (his father was literature professor August Coppola, brother of director Francis Ford Coppola).
Despite learning to play the real mandolin for the film, it's clear Cage didn't go to all that trouble for his Italian accent, that he sounds a bit more like Jack Black's controversial Mexican voice in free nacho. Keanu Reeves in Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) Keanu Reeves gives a remarkably laughable performance in Bram Stoker's Dracula, thanks in no small part to his hilarious "British" accent. In statements to Entertainment Weekly in 2015, director Francis Ford Coppola explained, “He tried really hard. That was the problem, really: he wanted to do it perfectly and in trying to do it perfectly he was far-fetched”. We still love you Keanu and the movie is still great. 'Bram Stoker's Dracula' (Zoetrope/Columbia Tri-Star/Kobal/Shutterstock) Tom Cruise in far and away (1992) Tom Cruise is actively terrible at far and away, a bizarre adventure film from Ron Howard that was the second of three wildly divergent collaborations with Cruise's then-wife, Nicole Kidman. His Irish accent is an agitated noise, coming on one minute and gone the next. Pierce Brosnan in taffin (1988) If you haven't seen Brosnan's pre-Bond action movie, taffin (and most likely not), you may have watched a specific 14 seconds of it anyway. In them, the actor orders his love partner to leave his house in a manner that could only be described as Tommy Wiseau-esque. But Irish viewers have even more reason to be confused, as Brosnan is from the Republic of Ireland, but he speaks with an incomprehensible Northern Irish accent throughout. His phrase "So maybe you shouldn't be living here" has become a classic of the cinematographic tradition. "Maybe you shouldn't be living here!": (The genuinely Irish) Pierce Brosnan in 'Taffin' mickey rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) Mickey Rooney's portrayal of Japanese landowner Mr. Yunioshi in this classic is now widely accepted as a toxic caricature built on racist stereotypes. With taped-up eyelids and protruding teeth, Rooney completed his ludicrous performance with an offensive parody of a Japanese accent. Rooney later said that he "wouldn't have done it" if he had known he was going to offend people. Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins (1964) Dick Van Dyke's English accent in Mary Poppins is considered the "worst attempt by an American to be British", according to a 2017 survey by Babel. Even Van Dyke agrees, as after receiving a BAFTA in 2017 he said: "I welcome this opportunity to apologize to the BAFTA members for inflicting on you the most appalling London accent in film history."
