Please help/buy prints/commission me!
So I currently have two foster dogs I took in as an emergency to get them out of kennels. The adoption for Lady has fallen through, several times now. She's with us for the long haul it seems and I didn't actually plan for that!
Food costs etc for her aren't something I can cover long-term like this (especially now with this cost of living crisis) so anything y'all can spare will help A LOT!
The usual costs like electric, gas, fuel, food are up now too which I would also appreciate help with. I'm disabled and have dietary problems that require specific foods (anything with spice in it, even as a preservative is Out) to eat. I also live with my 56 yo disabled mother and have to look after her too.
I do art commissions and have prints in the works of my existing artwork (you can see it here on my insta or here on tumblr) if you'd like to commission/buy a print.
You can message me here, on my kofi, or on insta to enquire about prints. A4 is £20 and A3 £35. Other sizes vary. If you live in UK/EU I can cover postage but outside that will cost extra (approx £4.99).
If you want to commission me for an original piece, traditional or digital, message me with the details. I charge by the hour so be aware of that. My latest commission took me 38 hours to complete and was digital (see under cut for a lower resolution version of it).

In Baltimore County, MD: URGENT: Rambo(980) with Fractured Leg Needs Rescue ASAP!
Baltimore County Animal Services is seeking rescue placement for Rambo, a 3-month-old 35 pound pit puppy that was surrendered by his owner due to having a broken leg. The previous owner reported that Rambo is cuddly and knows sit and paw.
For Rambo’s medical exam, Rambo presented to the shelter with a history of a fractured right front leg. Radiographs taken by the previous veterinarian revealed a Salter Harris Type IV fracture distal humerus with displacement of distal limb proximolaterally. He is currently non-weight bearing on this limb. Additional pain control has been provided while in our care. Please see your primary care veterinarian or an orthopedic specialist for further recommendations, diagnostics and treatment for this condition.
Due to Rambo’s medical needs, he needs to leave the shelter ASAP, ideally today. If you are interested in pulling Rambo, or have any questions, please let us know!
Thank you,
BCAS Rescue Team

Why Fostering Pets Is Important and Why You Should Try it Too
We just started fostering in May 2023 and it has been an amazing experience so far! My husband and I were trying to figure out if we wanted to be dog owners and if having a dog would fit into our lives with young kids or if it would just add more stress in our lives. Of course, dogs are more work, but I was also pretty sure that it would be a good stress that I wanted to take on. My husband wasn’t so sure that it was a stress that he wanted to add to our lives, so we agreed that we could foster a dog to see how it went and if it felt like too much.

Second Foster Dog AKA “Foster Fail”  Our second foster puppy just came to us in the beginning of June, but she already feels like part of our family and is just so sweet and easy to love! She came with the name Sparkle and the kids and I loved her right away. She now is a nightly participant in tucking our daughter into bed. She cuddles with us as our daughter falls asleep. She also supervises my husband and I while we work from home. She is an excellent cuddle buddy while we’re curled up watching a show or a movie. She also loves going for walks, so it has been fun to see her explore while we’re on walks. She loves people so it’s cute how many people she makes smile while we’re out walking. Needless to say, Sparkle has been a very positive addition to our lives in the past few months. We loved her so much that we decided to adopt her and renamed her Penny because she is copper colored.

The Statistics:
On a national scale, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) approximates that 6.3 million pets enter shelters in the United States every year with about 4.1 million of them being adopted.
Taking a look locally, the Minneapolis Animal Care & Control (MACC) website states that the City of Minneapolis had an adoption rate of 31% over the last few years. 22% of the animals were returned to their owners, and 28% of the animals were transferred to other facilities. Out of these animals, 19% ended with humane euthanasia.
Animals end up in shelters for many different reasons. The MACC website reported that of the pets brought to them, 43% are stray, 26% are surrendered, 16% are wild and 16% fall into the other category.
Why these statistics matter The message has been spread for awhile now that it’s better to adopt dogs to help save lives, but the types of animals that are available to foster or adopt come from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and ages. People are allowed to set parameters for the types of animals that they’re willing to foster or adopt. People can say no if they don’t feel comfortable with a particular situation or animal.
Helping without the lifelong time or financial commitment Sometimes people can’t afford a pet or they can’t make a lifelong commitment to taking care of an animal, so fostering can be a great way to still get to care for animals and be around animals without having to take on financial commitment and the lifelong commitment to care for the animal.
Exploring different pets before officially committing Fostering is a great way to explore different ages and breeds of dogs without having to commit to one. You can see what age and personality traits are well suited to your home and your personality, and what you are and aren’t willing to put up with a pet. For me, a puppy wasn’t as good of a fit as a slightly more mature dog who is already potty trained and doesn’t bite so much.
Exploring if pet ownership is or is not for me I grew up having different kinds of pets, but I wasn’t sure if having a dog was a good fit for our family right now with little kids and if we could handle more responsibility than we already have. I have been pleasantly surprised to find that the dogs we fostered really have overall felt like they enriched our everyday lives more than they added stress. Being honest, however, they were some moments with a puppy that felt like too much to me so the older dog seems to fit our lifestyle better.
One thing that has been beneficial for me is that the foster organization has been very helpful with any questions or concerns that have come up and almost helped “train” me as the caretaker so I feel more able to take on the responsibility as we chose to adopt Penny. Some people end up paying someone a lot of money for the help that is a normal part of the fostering experience. The fostering community has been AMAZING to work with and very kind and supportive!
Making a difference in the world in the lives of people and animals One of my favorite parts of fostering so far is feeling like I’m doing something that is helping other people, the animals, and feeling like I’m contributing something positive to the world in a small way.

My previous long-term fosters (not counting several short-term fosters under 48 hours), along with my sweet forever-home buddy at the end (who mopes for WEEKS after each one is adopted). We’ll foster again once we move, but for now this can be enough.

Seriously, I just like cartoons. I wanted to try more bold lineart and colors this time around, sometimes drawing in soft colors gets boring :p
Quite proud of this one, just saying.

Brawl roster COMPLETE, nicklauerart the original person behind these designs did an outstanding job with them all, some of them I ended up adding little details in some of them, as for the one with grim, I made him carry a sea lard from adventure time and made it dress like me Saturn from the mother series 🌟, I’m now on the homestretch of it all and now have started on the smash 4 roster and I seriously can’t wait to show them all to you!

Hello,
Baltimore County Animal Services is seeking rescue placement for Coco. Coco is a Bernese Mountain Dog that is only 10 months old. Coco was surrendered to us yesterday due to her owner being deployed. Coco has lived with children, but has never been around cats, dogs, or people outside of her home so this new environment with new people is very stressful and scary for her. We have not been able to see Coco’s true colors, but she has not been aggressive while here. We are hopeful a rescue will be able to take her in and get to know her to see her true colors and find the best home for her. If you are interested in pulling Coco or have any questions, please let us know!
Thank you,
Megan Phillabaum

Unless: You want the action to repeat itself because it's super cute and there is nothing inherently wrong with rewarding contact-seeking behaviour, and shockingly it is actually possible to both teach and learn more nuanced ways to communicate with your dog than simply "no" and "when i say so"

hey dogblr. I'm currently fostering this stray dog from my neighborhood. Likely around a year old, she has great teeth. Got her up to date on vaccines, treated for intestinal parasites, heartworm negative and just got 6 month heartworm prevention shot.
Located in Mississippi but I can meet someone for the right home. Potty trained. Shes good on a leash and in a kennel but she is a chewer. Still a baby and could use some training.
She loves to snuggle and she carries around her blanket when we let her out of the kennel.
We've been calling her Poppy and we think she may be a lab/husky mix.
