Jazz becoming the next big Gothem villain is such a solid concept. Theres so much to explore.
She targets corrupt mental institutions. Corrupt companies who destroy their workers state of mind so they wont quit. She attacks landlords who make it impossible for people to live comfortably.
She is the staple anti-hero of anyone struggling to get back on their feet. People should have to work three jobs just to afford a crappy one bedroom, no utilities, half bath, in crime alley apartment, with a roommate.
Shelters should be aiming to gain a profit instead of using the donations to support others.
She is tired of these big name heros leaving children to clean up messes. She has watcher her own brother wither away to a shell of his former self trying to make a change and she is sick of it. Hell she herself is a child but if this is what it takes, then this is what it takes.
Enter from the left The Manipulator™️
Feared by all corrupt. People think she has mind control or something. When she targets someone they make almost a full 180 in their ways. “She will do anything to get her way or to make people into what she thinks they should be. And she mist be stopped” cries big business.
In reality she is the worlds best damn psychiatrist ever to be known. She doesn’t force anyone to change but gives them the choice to be better. To see how much more they can be. And it terrifies them. Helps them find themselves again and to move past their troubling pasts. No force and no mind control. No manipulating. No one but those who she has helped know the truth but when they tell the truth it only fuels the fire of her being controlling.
Theres one thing also fuelling the flames of mind control. Thats the fact that every single major hero to go after her can’t. Any who approach her find themselves no long near her. Superman just wants to talk, well she doesn’t, and he is then back in his city?!? Batman is stalking her to figure out how to deal with her but once he gets too close he suddenly finds himself in the batcave?
At first they think it’s teleportation but time is passing? Theres video feed and tracking of no they just went back themselves. No response from them the whole trip. As if possessed. (Lmao it’s just good brother danny pranking his sis a little by making her seem all powerful but also protecting her anyway he can. Or could be Dan instead)

I think one of the reasons that kaladin can deal with actively killing as a soldier but not with accidentally (passively) letting someone die as a surgeon is the sense of failure (plus of course the obvious protection aspect and the whole me-vs-them mentality he only really starts to question when Shin joins bridge four, and he starts interacting fairly regularly with a light-eyes he can genuinely respect). dalinar himself said that he "love(s) taking responsibility for things", which is especially clear in the way he still can't quite blame amaram for tien's demise (because he feels like this is his failure, too).
like we can see in the first book that the deaths of the people he swore to protect weigh on him not only because of the dying people per se, but also (and I would argue: especially) because of his FAILURE to keep them alive. he always makes this connection to himself, thinks of their demise in relation to HIS own person and HIS role and HIS failure (cue the whole "stormfather cursed me specifically" thing). like, besides tien and the bridgemen (who we know because they are active current characters), can we truly say much of anything about the people he failed to protect in the past? the only thing we really know is how HE feels about it and how it messed HIM up. but the people themselves??
kaladin just has insane main character syndrome, and everything happening to him (first dark-eyed to have the rank of a light-eyed, one of the only surgebinders, guy able to survive multiple fights with actual shardbearers, etc etc) do the opposite of helping him dissuade the notion. I feel like I lost the plot of my own post. Kal is honorable and a good guy and everything but he is also pretty self-centered? which I actually find really cool because many times people who do objectively good actions are still kind of demonized if they don't do it for the "right" reasons (aka purely 1000% selflessness), but Kal explicitly starts helping the bridgemen not because he actually cares about them but because he needs a reason to not commit suicide. and when he loses bridgemen (especially in the beginning where he barely knows them) he always immediately thinks back to the other people he FAILED to save. he isn't devastated because that person in particular died, he is upset because he is very bad at dealing with his own failures and also terrified that the wretch will use this to lure him back onto the ledge. i mean, he loathes failure so much he was resigned to never see his parents again (who he clearly loves a lot and who he knows would welcome him back with open arms; it's his own shame that he can't confront)
he helps people primarily to try to make up for the failures of the past, an attempt to dissuade the guilt and shame eating him alive 24/7 (which of course never works because guilt is a very unreasonable emotion and as long as he doesn't change his mindset and confronts his own beliefs about himself and the world it will never go away.)
"do the fire sprin create the flames or are they attracted by them?" of course syl was compelled to follow kaladin around. dude keeps actively (even if semi-unconsciously) putting himself into the same role and situation over and over again in the hopes that if he can only succeed one time it will somehow redeem him for his past failures. literally every single thing Kal does and thinks and believes is rooted in the fact that he blames himself for tien's demise. he needs to somehow redeem himself in order to be able to live with himself but at the same time he can never be redeemed because letting tien die is an unforgivable crime and yet he needs to make it up somehow because the wretch is always in the back of his mind and he's actually terrified of it but he is equally scared of actually somehow managing to get over this sense of guilt and failure because wouldn't forgiving himself mean he thinks tien is less important than his own stupid (and, in his mind, deserved) feelings?
that guy is so not over his brother's death it actually isn't funny anymore 💀 please get that dude some fucking therapy 😭😭

seb to wec is actually pretty realistic for multiple reasons including:
- much less races
- remember the clean fuel convention thing he was in last year during the summer break? I don't know if he asked rocky or rocky asked him (not rb rocky, endurance rocky) to take part but there was also the presentation of the hydrogen wec cars etc
- a lot of the successful drivers and former drivers there are his friends/like him/would probably not be opposed to working with him and helping him settle in (ex drivers like mark, mr le mans tom kristensen himself, current drivers like kamui kobayashi, loïc duval, mike rockenfeller,...)
- he's been seen hanging with porsche boss guy at the porsche tennis cup in stuttgart. he's been testing that audi at roc. something is brewing. german manufacturers want him sooooo bad
- wec is way further into sustainable fuels and sustainability in general than f1
- an fia super license and previous status as a factory driver award him platinum driver status (fia ranking system for driver ability, platinum is the highest rank), for hypercar this doesn't matter as much since there are no silver/ bronze driver requirements (and bronze drivers, often gentlemen drivers, not permitted) but still putting it here
- amazing fan atmosphere (biased but wec is so much more fun to watch live on track than f1 yall)
- triple crown babyyyyy (fr tho look at seb and tell me he wouldn't be the type to pursue a historic mark of a true champion)

i KNOW that oda is aware he's drawn some extremely gorgeous ladies since he obviously does that on purpose (though i believe he's unaware of just how beautiful some ladies he's drawn that stray too far from his usual model are), but I'm, like, pretty much convinced he has absolutely no clue he's also drawn some of the most good looking manga dudes out there. I'm sure he has no idea. He puts down lines and then he's like "???? why are people so obsessed with this guy he has barely shown up ever????" while we're all sitting here going heart eyes or whatever. It's been twenty-six years maybe it's time for him to get on with the program. It's like his experience with benn and ace in the very beginning taught him absolutely nothing

you ever write up a combination of words you're really proud of at the time bc you think it's vivid but it's actually so atrocious that you remember it eight years later bc it's burned itself into your long-term memory? just me?

As a native Spanish speaker is so funny to me that Nicholas Galitzine speaks Spanish more fluently than Taylor Zakhar Pérez. I mean, whatever, I can understand Taylor not being super fluent in Spanish, it happens. But like... How did Nicholas end up not only being pretty fluent but also having such a distinct Spain Spanish accent??? How did that happen???
I tried searching Taylor speaking Spanish and I got more results for Nicholas instead 💀
I just find it so funny

something about imogen moving and acting with her emotions barely contained in her skin, comments and grief and anger spilling and spiking out of her every time she shifts. something like gripping a thundercloud in your hands, electricity sparking and rolling out between your fingers in fits, pricking and bright and hot and hurting, something dense and something burning at its center.
She way she casts calm emotions like a balm, like a bandaid on a gushing wound- not as a fix but because she has to keep pushing and she isn't sure she can, without it. Imogen is well acquainted with battling her own mind and here, now, we're seeing that battleground shift. Its not about her keeping a tight grip on things, not the way it used to be. This is not about her pushing things down, not really- that's a lost cause.
The battle has narrowed to. Her ability to keep moving. Her ability to function long enough to fix this. She is feeling every wave of that grief and that fear and that white hot anger and she is so full, crackling and to the brim, with the storm inside of her. She is not trying to tuck it away, anymore. It spills out of her in magic and in harsh words and displays of grief. It doesn't matter. None of this matters if-
if-
There is so much, on the verge of spilling out of her.
She let it all out once, already, and the worst still happened.
So instead, she keeps pushing, keeps trying to move and act, and fix- but the power is always at her fingertips now, because there is all of this rage and hurt and power at her fingertips and the cost to keep it down is maybe too much to bear at this point.
This is all in her. She can't get rid of it. She can't run from it. Maybe all she can do is grasp it with both hands and try to use it.
(Maybe some part of her is terrified that if the storm inside of her dies, now, she'll die too. For better or for worse.
So better keep that fire burning.)

@piliyi, prompt —
go ahead. ask whatever you want. / tookai…
let it be said that tooru’s never claimed to be a guy who handles rejection well. most of the time it’s not enough of a reason to deter him from trying, but there’s always a little part of him that braces himself even in the asking.
so he’s hesitant, (he’s never done this before. he hasn’t even considered all the ways this could go wrong,) but. there’s something about kaien that makes him want to take that risk. it’s a kind of optimistic hope that he’s learned to let go of through the years, and it reaches back for him.
but first we have to set the scene. so, picture this: the air is warm with the scent of freshly baked pastries, the windows frosted over by the remnants of winter’s chill even as the beginnings of spring chases it away. kaien cuts a striking figure with his back resting casually against the counter, his grin piercing straight through tooru’s chest. tooru thinks he may look besotted, but he’s not in a position to judge — the glass display where his reflection sits isn’t what he’s paying attention to at the moment. it’s clichéd, perhaps, but in this snapshot of a moment he only has eyes for kaien.
“right,” he takes a deep breath. “no matter what, you’re not allowed to laugh, okay?”
and then, in the space of one single exhale, “willyougooutwithme?”
