This is one of my most used methods of binding off as it gives a polished finish to your projects it also has great stretchy memory that never loses its shape!
The tubular bind-off is a sewn bind-off which creates an invisible edge on a 1×1 rib matches perfectly to the tubular cast-on.

Just posted my first ever reel today, which outlines the process of making this corset (and footage of me wearing it) 🎥 I used secondhand bedsheets and created it as a mockup for future corset projects, but it turned out well enough that it quickly became a staple in my wardrobe. Go peep my reel to see me wearing this corset at RenFest and around the Florida Keys! 🧵 Pattern: @simplicity_creative @americanduchess S8162 Fabric: @goodwillint @goodwillmanasota Other materials: Thread and ribbon from @scrapitupcincy 🧵 Grommets and bias tape from @joann_stores 🧵Zip ties as boning from @loweshomeimprovement 🧵 Styling: secondhand shirt from @gabrielle.deanna ✨ skirt, belt, and shoes from Goodwill 🧵 🪡 ✁ #renfest #keywest #fortzacharytaylor #history #historicalcostuming #costume #corset #stays #fashion #1700s #18thcentury #secondhandfashion #upcycle #sewing #imadethis #florida #memade #diyfashion #secondhandfirst #vintagefashionnotvintagevalues #americanduchess #simplicity8162 #s8162 #simplicitypatterns #handmadewithjoann #lowesgoals (at Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CiQ8zknrL_D/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
I sewed the dress a couple of years ago in time for pride. It was actually my wearable mock-up to try my (heavily modified) pattern for a lolita fashion dress. I wanted a base pattern for a JSK like dress (that I could still modify further obviously).
I think it's very fitting that a rainbow was the beginning of this dress family and there's a little bit of queerness in everyone of my dresses that came afterwards 🌈
For this years pride I had lots of fun decorating a hat (again). I really like to wear a hat to pride because you have portable shade and also lots of additional space to decorate. I also incorporated a banner this year (made of cardstock and chopsticks) so I had a message without carrying around a sign with my hands. I didn't get super creative with the message as "make love not war" was this year's pride motto here but it's a good one soo.. idk if it was appearant to anyone but I included the big blue bow with the strawberries (also has white dots and swirlies that don't show up in the pictures so much) because of it's trans colours.
Many people told me that they loved and adored my look during our big parade. I'm really happy that I could make people smile & contribute to the feeling of happiness and togetherness! 💗
I have other plans for other [quote] queer [/unquote] clothes but we'll see how fast those come to life. Would love to do something with violets as a subtle hint to wlw (to pay homage to the codes of old).
