Finale Thoughts
The show stuck the ending far better than I thought it would and when compared to the preceding episodes it knocks it out of the park. That being said, I think because the bar was so low going in, that it makes this episode feel spectacular when really every episode should have done this well, at minimum.
Solo Lessons and Ares Battle
I'm so happy they included the one-on-one training sessions with Luke since its so essential to foreshadowing. I also liked the setting in the woods but why was it like autumn/fall in the flashback lol? However, I think that did unintentionally add a dreamlike quality to the scene which I did really like so whatever I'm here for it.
That being said I do wish these scenes were in episode 2/3 alongside the other chb stuff instead of being a flashback in the finale because it makes it just so on the nose that Luke's the traitor. However, the shot panning from Luke's extended sword to Percy's on the beach ate I can't lie.
Honestly it may have been interesting if they had established some of the solo lessons early on in episode 3 and then done periodic flashbacks to expand on them throughout the series. That way, its not so obvious that Luke's the traitor in the final hour and we also get cool transition shots and establishing that Percy is thinking about what he's learned from his lessons with Luke.
#Relieved that the Ares and Percy fight was not a single sword strike and then cut to black. Glad we had some action. Still think we should've pushed the limits much harder tho.
Oh but Percy's wave did go hard. They actually made the wave much bigger than what happened in the book and now I'm just sitting here wondering why we couldn't see some more of this instead of 10,000 cut to black scenes every time Percy uses his powers.
I wish we had gotten this Ares's reaction from the book when he lost: "The roar that followed made Hadesâs earthquake look like a minor event. The very sea was blasted back from Ares, leaving a wet circle of sand fifty feet wide." Show Ares's reaction seemed so anticlimactic in comparison.
And no curse???? huh??
I know Ares was like "we're enemies 4 life now" but the curse and dialogue from the book goes so unbelievably hard: âYou have made an enemy, godling. You have sealed your fate. Every time you raise your blade in battle, every time you hope for success, you will feel my curse. Beware, Perseus Jackson. Beware.â
Why couldn't show Ares say that??
Olympus, Zeus, & Poseidon

sorry Olympus could've should've been prettier.
Like Olympus in the book felt a lot more wondrous and lush and colorful. But in the show it seemed so dull. Idk if its cause the "war's happening" or whatever it was just bland. a wash of dull-looking cgi and then an instant cut to the Big Palace.
Lance Reddick's Zeus was amazing tho. He had that godly presence I've been waiting for.
And Toby Stephens's Poseidon? oh I loved it.
I especially loved their conversation in greek.
I still wish however they would have done effects on the gods' eyes. Like glowing with energy or something when they get emotional. I felt like I was waiting to see electricity burst from Zeus when he was yelling at Percy.
And so it turns out that the reason why they changed it to Percy missing the deadline in the show was to create a situation in which Poseidon surrenders a war for his son.
And listen, if this scene existed in a vacuum I'd be so here for it. I guess a part of me can't fathom the solstice being anything other than a hard deadline. I enjoy the scene without context, within context I have mixed feelings about it.
But the "do you dream?" convo between Percy and Poseidon. Oh my god no notes. I loved it.
Some more book dialogue that I wish made it: âYou did well, Perseus. Do not misunderstand me. Whatever else you do, know that you are mine. You are a true son of the Sea God.â
Luke's Betrayal
Okay here's where we get some high highs and low lows.
Some things I sincerely liked:
The setting. Fireworks going off in the background. The lantern illuminating the side of Luke's face with the scar. So visually nice.
Luke actively trying to recruit Percy! I've always joked that if Luke was just a little smarter he would have tried to persuade Percy to join his side rather than immediately kill him. And I do like that the show went this direction.
While I do mourn the loss of the scorpion them battling via swords is a great subversion of the sword mentor/mentee dynamic they share. It makes the scene tense and fast pace.
And its all of the above that makes me wonder why we didn't have more of this throughout the show: talking while battling, visually appealing and dynamic settings, unique visuals, etc.
I love how triggered Luke was at Percy's mention of meeting Hermes. I still hate how much Hermes introduction bogged down the show but damn if it didn't lead to one singular funny moment.
Percy getting a hit in on Luke and then immediately apologizing
"I didn't think you'd give the shoes to Grover." Oh that was cold.
Walker and Charlie deserve their flowers and more they were fantastic and carried.
Now things I DIDN'T like:
I don't like how Percy pieced it together with the information he did have... which honestly isn't a lot in the show? If he was going to figure out that Luke was the traitor I would've have had Luke show more of his bitterness like he did in the book. Like the fact the show never even mentioned Luke's failed his quest loses the entire element of Percy succeeding an "impossible" quest and being celebrated while Luke only got a scar and a chip on his shoulder from his failed one.
Luke's scar shoulda been worse idc.
Percy should have been mortally wounded. That's where we run into an issue with there being no scorpion because yeah, a fatal sword injury probably would've been a bit much to depict. I also 10000% think that Luke is enough of a baby to get his daddy issues triggered and then try to off Percy for it even if his original intention was to recruit him.
Also the fact that you see Luke raise his sword for a damning blow and then the very next day you have Percy like "I don't think Luke was trying to kill me." and Chiron agreeing? asdlkfjsdlkf WRONG.
Also, sorry, I don't like that Annabeth was there.
But if you're gonna have Annabeth there, her reaction to Luke betraying her and trying to hurt Percy should've been way more severe than a solemn "I heard everything."
She shoulda been crying, questioning, yelling even if she had suspected him. It's one thing to suspect it, it's another to see the person you consider your family to actually prove it true.
(And this isn't on Leah! It's 100% on the directors cause what was the thought process here? Her brother figure betrays her and she's like :/)
And sure, in the book Annabeth isn't actually all that surprised by Luke's betrayal when Percy tells her about it... but we also never got to see her initial reaction to it. Percy was out for 2 days.
Just, if book Annabeth had been there, she would've been so emotional and that's okay!! let Leah show off her chops!
Sally
I mourn book Sally. I mourn her arc. I mourn the power of Sally unapologetically petrifying Gabe with Medusa's head.
One of the most iconic storylines from the book and it was sanitized in the show to the point that it lost all sense and meaning.
Honestly one of the biggest disappointments of the show for me.
Other
I love the fact that a flower is the searcher's license for satyrs its just so silly and sweet.
I love Annabeth sincerely hugging Percy but also using it for strategizing purposes it feels very on point for her.
Also her braids at the end!! so sweet!
I am very very bitter that Percy didn't see the fates. This + the changes made to Sally's characterization and arc... the show truly doesn't get it.

some kind soul uploaded the full q&a that fall out boy did the other night! here is a highlights reel of things that grabbed me while i was watching for those who don't have time to watch:
they have a rapport with the interviewer and have hung out with him a bunch. patrick says they spent like 30 minutes making fun of couches last they hung out lmao
pete describes working with neal avron as being held like an enchanted forest creature with him standing inches from pete's face and saying "what. are. the songs. about." and pete going "oh my god he's looking into my fucking soul rn"
when asked what their favorite meal is, andy says "mom's spaghetti" and doesn't elaborate, patrick says "sushi" and doesn't elaborate. pete says that he's like the joker and he's a simple man and today he had a full english breakfast and he didn't know what to do with half the stuff that showed up.
pete talks about discussing the name of "the beatles" with elliot ingham (their photographer) and says he finally understood that their name was a pun. he says about this "i'm not the sharpest tool in the shed" and doesn't realize he's referencing a meme. the crowd immediately fills him in that it's a lyric by smash mouth. andy clowns on him for this right after: "he's NOT the sharpest tool in the shed"
the host says that pete seems very intellectual. pete says "i PROMISE you that's not true."
when asked about formative musical influences andy and patrick both cite familiar names (andy namedrops drummers for bands like slayer and metallica, patrick says his dad being a folk singer was a huge influence and the 1989 danny elfman batman score). pete says joy division but says he's a visual person and most of his influences are movies.
there's a moment where patrick and pete banter and pete points at the host and says "he just told me i'm smart, i'm trying to live up to it!!" and patrick says in this very small high pitched voice "please be nice to pete!"
anyway pete says his biggest influences are "all the twilight movies except for the one where they introduce [i have no idea what he says here because the crowd promptly goes apeshit]" and also lego batman.
for newer artists patrick says he really likes the new zulu record and the new incendiary song. he says he also likes MSPAINT, alvvays, and another band i couldn't catch the name of
pete says he likes all of patrick's recommendations and says he also likes games we play. andy doesn't give any artists but says patrick gave a "great list" because he's VERY jet-lagged. he's keeping it together as best as he can tho lmao
when asked about if they would ever do a fashion runway show like they did in 2013, patrick says he was embarrassingly short for the whole thing. "i'm at like, bellybutton level." so he says he doubts they would ever be invited back to do something similar "unless they want a bunch of hobbits"
someone asks about producing and patrick gets really in depth with what producing is like and uses "from under the cork tree" as an example - "nobody puts baby in the corner" was barely adjusted from demo form but "sugar we're goin down" had totally different verses at first until they got better direction from the producer.
when asked about what their favorite video to film was, pete says youngblood chronicles WASN'T a lot of fun to make because it was like 9 months with fake blood in your hair and clothes that haven't been washed oNCE. he also didn't love doing the prosthetics for "love from the other side"
the host asks if they've seen the last of us and pete says yes but points at andy and says "he hasn't seen the last episode though so no spoilers!!!" which i thought was very sweet. he then follows that up with "just watch the fuckin episode so we can talk about it!"
patrick and andy said they shot a music video recently that was a "blast" but it's not out yet. pete calls it "very fun, very funny." the crowd starts cheering and patrick hastily says "YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT! you're under NO obligation to like it! but if you do then that's good :)"
patrick says one of the best parts of being in a band is that they all have imposter syndrome but in different ways so they can build up each other's ideas even if they don't believe in their own.....
pete's very nervous about the lyrics to this album cause he's not sure they'll be relatable since he has a lot of "insane fears day to day about not existing." he went to a lot of places that were terrifying to him and he was like "should i talk about this to my therapist" but his therapist said "put this in your lyrics"
"heaven, iowa" was the song that took the longest to come together on this record. this is followed by a rly long anecdote from patrick that im putting in another post cause it honestly made me howl.
when asked about who they'd most like to collaborate with, andy without hesitation says "ourselves" and nothing else. pete says he wanted a kid cudi feature on the album but it didn't work out since he was either busy or ghosted them fldjflkdf
when asked what song are they tired of playing that they can't cut from the setlist and they DON'T want to answer. patrick says some songs have really high notes that are demanding physically for him but that's as specific as he gets lol
pete's like "well we've got this punk song we end all our shows with from one of our earlier albums and it gets very chaotic and sometimes it's a bit of a fancy crowd of people who are like 'i like centuries, i like some of their other songs....i write sins...' and before we start the song i'm like. oh god this is gonna be bad."
when asked about the songwriting process, patrick says: "pete sends me lyrics, i mine them for stuff i like, and....i hate starting answers like this i feel like i've been saying this all MONTH. so i have ADHD - " [crowd fucking goes wild]
when asked about which projects they're proudest of outside of fall out boy, patrick turns to andy and says "andy is very quiet about being in like thirty bands" but andy says he's proud of "all of it"
patrick remarks that he's heard some love for soul punk but is also super grateful he gets to do film and tv scoring now too! he says he likes that when he's talking to people and they ask what he does and if they don't know bands or anything he can say he likes scoring for film and tv and their eyes glaze over and there are no follow-up questions LMAO??
pete is proudest of the bands on his record label!
for favorite songs on the new record, patrick says he likes "what a time to be alive" and says the lyrics are "so tremendously pete"
pete likes "baby annihilation"
when asked about the most difficult song to play live, patrick said headfirst slide wasn't really that difficult even though he expected it to be. he says a lot of songs on mania were very challenging to play live, like young and menace. pete says "what a catch, donnie" was very hard for his "little brain" to play
at the end pete shouts out the host for being fantastic since they've hung out like 3 times now and he thinks he's a great dude to hang out with. andy inexplicably follows this up with "you look like a DAMN fine cup of coffee" and doesn't elaborate but patrick thinks that's his way of saying thank you too

12. ARMENIA
Brunette - "Future lover"

Very tempted to just post this meme as justification for putting Brunette here.
Like, what is Brunette if not A Neat Lady? ? She working on herself, deciding to be good, do good, look good #TeamPretty for her future lover whom she wants to kiss her face, read books with and drink smoothies with at neat cafĂŠs - it's no "Why don't you make me dizzy with all your kisses *sad synth*", but it's cute and relatable for a libretto strung together from Pinterest posts lol <3. A Presence That Was Liked (--Gretchen Jones) if ever there was.
What really pushed "Future lover" higher up my ranking though was the live, and specifically the middle section. "Future lover" is not an easy song to get into, but Brunette made it work, specifically by knocking the rap break-
AND the following dance break-
Right out of the park! Princess was eating and her song was the buffet.
And honestly that's enough for a 12th place on my list. You know me, whenever we reach a new zone, we rank the competent people first since they're the ones I have the least opinion on. Brunette is good, i submit the live in Liverpool as evidence, I 'm sure we agree on that? "Future lover" was never more than a fun filler entry for me and I don't mean that disparagingly - every contest needs their also-rans and if the entries that pad out the numbers are good themselves, the contest usually becomes more enjoyable as a whole. Brunette was part of a strong streak that ran from Alika to Pasha, and she earned her spot, by delivering a strong and inspired live that was solidly good with no drawbacks. It's not something I'm passionate about, but "Future Lover" was top shelf Fun Finale Filler, and I wish the entries near the top of the scoreboard I put below Armenia had demonstrated the same level of quality.

For the purposes of ranking ESC, I like to clump together entries I have similar feelings for to pretend the chaotic wreck that is this blog as a minimum of consistency. In this case I've completely given up lol <3 DiljĂĄ and Brunette couldn't be less alike if they tried. Where Brunette was competent, dignified and professional, DiljĂĄ gave negative fucks about how she came across and how it affected her point total. <3
That isn't to say, I didn't enjoy "Power" for what it was because I did, a lot. Basic catchy Electropop by weird indie girls is my safe zone, and where I can fully unwind, calm down and be myself (I suppose that's the introvert equivalent to zoning out to a girlbop? You couldn't pay me to move to a Loco Loco or Slomo in public, although I like both of them). You can defo be sure that I loved "Power" for all its shortcomings and man was it flawed.
As noted pre-show the biggest threat to DiljĂĄ was DiljĂĄ herself. Now don't get me wrong - I LOVE her. I love her annoying foghorn-like personality that blasted through her rehearsal tiktoks. I love how she, when asked what the best Eurovision song of all times was, served cunt by naming herself. I love how she gave zero shits about something as trivial as qualifying, and just went all out enjoying herself via the medium of her untreated neurodivergence. And of course, most of all, I love that she completely engineered her own demise in the semi, for no reason other than that she felt like it:

Like, I'm pretty sure there's a decent chance "Power" could have qualified in that second semifinal. The target after all was Alika, who was an obvious traditional jury carry. But DiljĂĄ threw all that away when she magikarped herself to death on that turntable. đ
she could have chosen ANY aesthetic and she chose Lucie Jones in Arthur Fleck cosplay. đ
She could have chosen any camera angles, and went for several ones where her back was turned to the audience.
In a sense, that was the most beautiful ending one could have imagined for DiljĂĄ's journey - a villain origin story turned flesh. DiljĂĄ would always be eliminated in the semis in any contest held acrpss the multiverses and it would always be through needless self-sabotage. đ AND SHE ALMOST QUALIFIED IN SPITE OF IT. REST IN P-P-P-POWER, my sweet anxiety princess.

I went from being like neutrally aware of the Sonic franchise characters' existence to totally obsessed practically overnight with Shadow and Sonadow. Went full speed ahead brainrot on them because of a freaking dream where cartoon (unspecified) Sonic & co accidentally entered the dimension of live action Sonic. Shenanigans ensued, most notably a dreambrain-hatched live action Shadow fighting his cartoon version because of his attitude toward Sonic & co.

A few nights ago I had a random as hell dream about Sonic the hedgehog and I am now here I have watched freaking Sonic Prime on Netflix because the mental images wouldn't leave me alone so I treated it like a weird message from the universe

My only previous interactions with sonic stuff was some person I followed on twitter for something else posting art of it (mega long time ago), watching the sonic live action movies why I have no idea (super long time ago), and that joke game that went surprisingly hard The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog which I completed even though the minigames to progress got hard AF for me (pretty long time ago) and like even before all that I knew of Sonic from ads, memes, and various posts on social medias. But I didn't fully engage with it.
Side note: the twitter posting was mostly sonadow and I would look it over like uh-huh ok the vibes check out and just keep scrolling like lsdfkjdskl but that is pretty much the main reason I knew Sonic/Shadow existed but at the time I didn't actively seek it out or try to learn more.
Onward...
My brain is so so so weird and the dream was somewhat vivid like watching a movie omg where the live action sonic and pals met the cartoon versions of the characters?? even though I never watched any of the cartoons before??? as such it wasn't a specific series, I just knew it in the dream they were from a generalized cartoon universe
Specifically it was Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles in the movie group, while the cartoon group had Amy and Rouge instead of the other two alongside Sonic, who I only even really knew about because of the April Fool's game. And Shadow was also there in both groups because why not I guess and they (the Shadows) fought each other because the movie one thought the cartoon one was a jerk lmao idk? Yeah my subconscious decided it couldn't wait for Sonic 3 and made up its own version of movie Shadow.
Early in the dream there was also a little kid clone of Sonic who belonged with the cartoon group. There were some cute interactions but in nonsensical dream fashion that character just disappeared later like he was never there lol
âŚThere was some plot about the cartoon group needing to get back to their dimension because Sonic accidentally got them blasted into the movie one somehow... after watching Sonic Prime I'm like my dream was so FREAKISHLY similar to that show's plot, but I SWEAR I knew nothing about the premise of SP before the dream. Although, in the dream they were like... multidimensional travellers doing hero stuff and had met other variants before, just this time it wasn't intentional and it messed something up.
Uh getting off track... (which the dream itself did a lot tbf)
Anyway, what I remember is the movie dimension made the cartoon group look in the more realistic style so at first Shadow thought the actual movie group were the ones from his dimension (Shadow & Amy got separated from Sonic & Rouge) and was rude to them because he was so ticked off blaming Sonic for being a dumbass and yelling at Tails for not preventing whatever happened or something,
so actual movie Shadow appeared like. don't talk to my friends that way asshole and beat the absolute shit out of him. There was an explanation Tails gave that the movie Shadow was more powerful for some reason I don't remember and Amy told cartoon Shadow to stop trying to beat him. But yeah bro was so pissed movie Sonic had to step in and physically stop him because he wouldn't listen to and/or overpowered anyone else. He reminded Shadow that the other Shadow was still him, in a sense.
Cartoon Sonic and Rouge appeared and Sonic started bickering with cartoon Shadow. but the movie versions were best friends so they were watching them like wtf is wrong with y'all. Movie Shadow got fed up quickly and punched cartoon Shadow again and stood protectively in front of both Sonic versions bristling and wouldn't take his eyes off his counterpart. Cartoon Shadow was so goddamn confused by Shadow's protectiveness and asked how Sonic had made movie Shadow his loyal bodyguard (derogatory)
Amy and Rouge like explained the backstory to the movie crew, which is fuzzy to me but it was something along the lines of, Shadow had been brainwashed to rival Sonic, tricked to think that Sonic was evil (unbeknownst to that Sonic who in his pov had this random edgy hedgehog start attacking him out of nowhere during a mission) and they had a lot of intense fighting before Shadow found out the truth. But the two of them never quite got over the misunderstanding. Listen I didn't know Shadow's backstory, literally none of it, but I have read the wiki since ok
Meanwhile movie Shadow, in the dream, was made and raised in a lab and similarly believed he was made as Sonic's rival/equal. Behind the scenes some government thing or whatever were afraid of Sonic's power and wanted a backup plan. But some evil guy stole and unleashed Shadow. At first it was basically just a duel, Shadow admired Sonic, but the evil guy had put a chip in his head that when activated made him try to kill Sonic. Eventually he was subdued and the chip deactivated- and despite everything Sonic insisted Shadow come with him to his home and the rest was history. This unfolded in like flashback style.
There was a funny part where Shadow questioned Sonic's home like "What kind of base of operations is this?" In a very unimpressed tone. Sonic said sarcastically "Oh, sorry if you were expecting my own Fortress of Solitude." And I guess Shadow was allowed to watch tv because he got the reference and shot back "Does that make me Lois Lane?"
Didn't make a whole lot of sense sdlfkjds but movie Shadow delivered this line very confidently and flirtatious and just walked away leaving Sonic shocked LOL
And then later Shadow complained that the government people would always rewind and loop the villainy parts and he never got to see if Lois and Clark kissed (It's been too long since I watched any Superman movies so I couldn't tell you if this makes sense) and Knuckles teased him for being a romantic, and then the whole team binge watched every Superman movie.
In the "present" at some point movie Sonic and Shadow pulled their alternate versions aside and like
told them off for being mean to each other lmao cartoon Sonic was kinda like uwu I didn't know Shadow had feelings he's like a lone wolf and like was surprised by his counterpart's vehemence. Movie Sonic told cartoon Sonic that Shadow can be a great friend if you give him a chance.
I don't remember the Shadowses convo much but it was a lot more chill despite the fighting before (though still prickly) because Shadow's reasons were more valid and it was more of a pep talk from movie Shadow that if he opened up more it might give the others around him more opportunity to know and accept him.
I remember there was this one specific heavy emotional line in the dream that stuck with me when I woke up said by cartoon Shadow about Sonic, "He's my best friend but I'm obviously not his" DFKLJDSKJ
Additional small detail that movie Sonic and Shadow had known each other for over 2 years during dream events. And they were quite close and in sync. But still bantery
My brain basically conjured a LITERAL FANFICTION in my sleep and I have been thinking about it a lot
What's hilarious is I knew next to fuck all about these characters my brain pulled the plot points of this dream out of its ass
Typed out, this dream probably sounds a lot longer than it was... the "scenes" just felt oddly detailed for how mashed together and quick passing they were.
But yeah I kept thinking about the dream and like daydreaming more scenes and it somehow turned even more into Sonadow (like, I imagined Cartoon Sonic & Shadow finding out in a very abrupt way that the movie versions were an item. <- to my delight I did find a fic with a premise very similar to this just not movie universe related. Also played with the idea of Sonic and/or Shadow accidentally kissing the wrong counterpart in their excitement at being reunited which Awakened Some Things for the receiver of the unexpected passionđ )
The dream kinda acted as a base that inspired daydreams to spiral out from my brain without permission but I just... mentally jumped into it because ships sometimes grab you like that.
And Sonic Prime made my sprouting interest worse, basically fuel to the fire, so now I am obsessed with them... like what a fucking way to get into a ship

(Disclaimer: this post was written in two parts, the first half was done the day before but not posted cause I didnt feel it was a complete thought, the second half was added after. I did not edit or touch the first half as I like to keep space for the thoughts of myself as they were; i also have passive chronic amnesia so Im not 100% sure if everything is on the same page; regardless that is just context)
Honestly, I think the thing that is important to keep in mind when interacting with syscourse - or specifically for us cause the only one we really care about is the tulpa discourse - is that you are never going to force or change anyone's mind who is so set that they are sitting on tumblr and pulling the dumbest arguments out of their ass to support their claims and I do think those that spend their time arguing with @/sophieinwonderland and @/cambriancrew - while honestly doing the dirty work no one wants to do by balancing out their bullshit posting so mad respect - are largely wasting their time if they do ever think that a mind will be changed.
The only reason to ever engage or talk about the stuff they (and the clique that actually buys into those arguments) talk about is solely to make an example out of how incredibly deep their interalized racism and just disregard for POC goes and honestly looking at them as anything other than a stubborn white person is putting more emotional energy than its worth.
Because genuinely, in a weird way and me doing what XIV calls "The Riku Thing" of looking at a really negative, annoying, and/or harmful thing and finding the bright side silverlining to it, I do kind of appreciate how astonishingly White TM they are because their unapologetic and loud nature makes a really big spectacle for a lot of people who otherwise would not understand how bad certain issues are look and go "what the fuck" and in its own way, it brings good publicity to the issues AAPI and eastern cultures go through in a western and white predominant area.
AAPI issues often go under the radar and are disregarded due to a number of reasons, but honestly? This is the most I've ever seen people actually talk about how white people take advantage of eastern and Asian cultures (relative to the size of the community in question) save for the brief blip of when Stop Asian Hate got loud during COVID where sinophobia blasted up and a bit surrounding Cyberpunk as a genre when Cyberpunk 2077 came out.
In that regard, I'm kinda glad they are so loudly racist and White TM about AAPI cultures. It makes for good publicity and awareness by being the example of just the Usual Bullshit and it starts better conversations. I'd honestly prefer a loud bigot to a quiet insidious one cause the loud ones at least can serve part of a message and be ignored.
Anyhow, this is all just to say that bigots will be bigots and you can argue with them all you want and call them truthful statements like "bigots" and "racist" but thats about all you can do to really control their behavior. Those balancing out their bullshit arguments, mad props - I could never cause that shit is too toxic and too much of an investment, but it is respectable work. (insert "it aint much but its honest work" meme at yall)

That said, I'll just say it as the fact that it is, those two and those that follow their rhetoric do not care at all about AAPI individuals and are just racist. We don't have to debate it and it's honestly not up for debate and while we could put our energy to trying to tear down their following and make them shut up, in a world where the KKK still exists and thrives, its an unlikely and futile of a goal to try ti achieve.
Instead its best imo to treat them like the public case study of white and western abuses to AAPI culture, particularly since time and time again they redisplay some of the most classic and frequently used techniques white and western individuals do to try to excuse their shit.
If you wouldn't give a person arguing with any other loud and proud bigot, its best to just accept that bigots be bigots and rather than banging your head against a wall, put it up for display on the museum wall as a means of education and awareness.
Theres no point in talking to bigots about how they are bigotted. There is, however, a point to displaying it for those less effected and usually not given the opportunity to sed it in full get a much closer look at some of the shit we deal with
I like to think that while a lot of white and western people suck, that a lot of them genuinely are trying their best with the limited awareness, access, and understanding that they have.
I dont feel as though I would be correct calling them and bigots a "small minority", but I'd like to think they aren't the majority and I honestly appreciate those willing to learn and better understand and so ya know? Whats a better way to explain it than with a live dancing monkey that loudly and proudly displays the behaviors in question for all to see.
Anyhow, I digress. Take this as you will. I am just throwing some insight and personal thoughts about specific users in hopes that some people who might be overly stressed about it might find a little more peace moderating the topic

4. Is there a specific episode that was especially fun to work on?
For me "fun" can mean two things when it comes to making art. It can mean that everyone was at the top of their game, because watching people be good at what they do is such a pleasure to me. If we are going with this understanding then Small Victories 207 (which comes out today) is the one. It's one of the few episodes where the very first time the cast did it it was perfect. Loved that.
The other meaning is that me and the SV team just had a blast making it regardless of performance. And I think that is kind of harder to get a lock on because we record three episodes a night and they all sort of blend together. I will say, though, that, for this season, 205 was fun to record because Cody Smith was there and I just get a real kick out of what he does with Aaron. Plus 205 is my favorite episode this season and it was great seeing it turn out so well.
8. Pick a character from your show and put together an outfit you think theyâd wear.
I'm going to pick Marisol because she has protagonist privilege.
I'mma be honest, I haven't really thought about this, but I think because Marisol (in my mind) is rocking serious "teenage boy or queer woman" realness she is probably dressing like Whoopi in the late 80s/early 90s. Like so:
9. If your show was a different genre what genre would it be and how would the plot change?
This could just be because I'm in my Buffy bag right now, but I think Small Victories could work as a low-fantasy slice of life series. It's already got that magical realism edge anyway with the Host and The Stranger, but I think if we leaned into it and made Marisol an wizard who had real trouble coping with a difficult past and abused her magic powers and is trying to figure out how to live in the world without using her magic because she is afraid of what she is capable of it could be very interesting.
It would be a little more monster-of-the week though to meet the demands of the genre. She would probably have to pick up some sort of detective/fixer-esque job in order to fit into the conventions and each week she would tackle some new mystery while struggling with her ability to manage her powers and atone for the messed up stuff she did when she was sick off magic.
And of course we could still have the rest of the cast. Nina would be the child of a pair of high mages but instead of following their path to rule over others she decides to move away and help teach advanced magics to people who advanced magic is kept from, which would rain down the ire from the higher ups thought her parents choose to protect her from it.
Nina is drawn to Marisol because Marisol is a skilled wizard despite the lack of training. The two find that they in fact really do like each other and they grow to love one another, but after Marisol snaps she disappears and Nina is left confused and hurt. The series could start with that distance, but Nina can be wrapped up in cases because she has useful skills and a heart tuned into justice. As time goes on their bond develops and becomes more complex.
Oliver could be a wizard too, but I think it'd be fun if there were other species so the world could be richer. Ollie could be an elf or troll or something like that and instead of going to college he instead is expected to, as all people in his culture are expected to do, become more integrated with their specific culture, which would explain the sort of distance he and Wizard Marisol would have.
Aaron would still be the boyfriend, but instead of a "Drug Dealer" he is a practitioner of more serious dark magics that he and Marisol used to indulge in. He handles the magic fine, but Marisol has trouble keeping anchored while using it, and so their bond is severely strained when she stops using magic altogether. He would still be a pianist though, cause I think that's a fun fact.
And all four of them could be a team and solve the mysteries and there would probably be overarching plot lines that betray some greater conspiracy in the world.
I will say, though, this would probably have some different things to say about addiction because Magic would be apart of her and suppressing parts of yourself due to fear is not a message I would want to put out in the world.
You know I've never thought about this before, but the more I write it I think that would be fun in a fanfic AU kind of way. But also I like the idea of a wizard detective. It just feels fun. Who knows maybe I'll flesh out this idea over on the WGC Patreon. I want to practice working on longer shows anyway.
17. Whatâs something that inspired your show?
Okay, back when I was a teen there was this webseries called Carmilla that came out. And I loved it very very much. And then the production company (KindaTV) dropped this other show called Barbelle which is a semi-whimsical webseries about a musical duo, Barbelle, that is made up of this couple (Alice and Veronica). However, by the time the series starts they are broken up because of a lot of reasons, but a very big chip on Alice's shoulder is the fact that Veronica has very serious problems with drugs and alcohol.
It has two seasons, and the ending of the show is pretty melancholy I'll be honest, but when I was watching this show back in 2017 it struck a pretty deep chord. It was just such good writing and so compelling.
I hadn't been watching it when I started writing Small Victories in March 2019, but when I think about it now I can definitely see that some of the things I was/am doing in SV were influenced by Barbelle.

SECURITY BREACH RUIN SPOILERS
Finally got around to watching a Security Breach Ruin playthrough, oh boy. That was a lot. Most notably in my own thoughts, or as many as I can pull out of my head right now-
⢠Obviously, so much more fleshed out and developed. I'm really happy SW was given all the time they needed to make this dlc, because it's just so so good, storywise and obviously in its gameplay compared to the unfortunate fate of security breach.
⢠Bonnie's Glamrock design had me screaming - there he was!! I love all the fanon designs for him don't get me wrong, his game design is just as refreshing and cool. The bright light blue in the main of him reminded me of Toy Bonnie (aka one of my favourite animatronics) and was a very nice colour to choose in comparison to purple, since that colour is mostly incorporated in Roxy's design now (and Aftons whole thing but ykwim). Brilliant!!
⢠ROXY. OUGH. I pitied her and liked the memes abt her that went around during the first game and her hatred for Gregory following into the new one (duh, wants her damn eyes back), but oh my god her whole thing with Cassie made me so sad. Surely your friends will show up this time!!! Number one!!! Twice!!!
⢠Not gonna lie, was very much expecting an ending where the mask gets permanently stuck on Cassies head and the AI Bunny(cant remember atm what ites being called lmao) just torments her for all of eternity. It struck me as really important that the mask had such an intrusive and physical method of use, and how Cassie is now permanently connected to the network whether she has it on or off, I thought they were going to do more with it in the endings. I know that the Brazil ending had Cassie using it to hide from her fate with the mimic, but that feels to me like its more about Cassie using it to escape rather than the reality of the mask now being specifically part of her. Not a complaint at all though, just my own personal thoughts and observations!!!
⢠The Mimic. Yeesh. Rip having to pretend to be Gregory of all people just to get out from a sinkhole, may I remind you the Mimic literally sassed Helpi in the first rid of the AI Bunny? Most in character line he managed to stitch together lmao (i have more to say abt it but I am too tired to try and write thst out rn)
⢠CANDY CADET. SOBBING.
⢠That poster up by the vents from BOWLING to FAZER BLAST being Freddy's poster for Bonnie? Cry. Legitimately made me tear up a little. I don't care what context people are choosing to frame their relationship in based on that "Love, Freddy" bit or what is actually confirmed canon (when do we ever get that in fnaf tho/j), they were programmed robots with a legitimate sense of care and affinity for each other and that is SO. DAMN. SAD.
⢠Follow up to that, DID SHUTTING DOWN ALL OF THE CUTE LITTLE YELLOW SIGN BABIES RELEASE BONNIE'S SPIRIT OR KILL IT? Regardless, those glowing eyes from his body in the secret bowling area had to mean something. Imagine being destroyed like that and having your soul trapped in your immovable body, waiting for who knows how long for someone to evem find you...
⢠Monty's story? Both don't trust it or Monty at all and still feel kinda a little bad for him. Going on the principle that he's had the ability to feel since the beginning too makes me worry for his possible character conflict when/if his full story if explicitly revealed. Someone gave him the ability to become one of the four, and still I don't think it was Bonnie despite the little art story. Monty might have been the one to destroy Bonnie to get there, but I think that hand with the guitar is symbolising that he had some kind of help along the way.
⢠Was kinda hoping Chica was gonna get more of a fleshed out backstory but its fine, she got her bits and thats okay! What was with the voice box bit??? Her minigame looked like fun tho lmao
That's most of what I feel like bringing up for now. Overall just a solid, banger fnaf game that I absolutely now just regard as its own installment completely seperate to Security Breach. Finally getting back into the swing of things. Cant wait for what's next!

Okay so the general, post your year in review isn't working for me so we're gonna do this my way with screen shots I guess. Let's start!

5. TV show of the year?
I didn't watch TV shows this year, but if other serialised forms count, then
15. Whatâs a bad habit you picked up this year?
Is getting 3-4h of sleep during the week a bad habit or a natural consequence of the uni forcing me to adapt to daytime living, while I'm a nighttime creature? đ¤
25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one
Hooooo boiiiiiii... A lot. A lot of characters for a lot of AUs. Who should I tell you about... Okay.
I haven't drawn them yet (of course...), but I think description would be enough. ^^ It's a "Fallout: New Vegas" OC! Their name is Acolyte Raikov and they're an independent psycho for hire (literally psycho â something's definitely wrong with their emotional system and, apart from murder sprees, rarely anything gets any emotional reaction out of them). Despite being human (at least in theory), they have some ghoul-like abilities, mainly fast regeneration (if they lose a limb and get it sewn back before it starts rotting, they can regain full usage of it in the span of days, maybe weeks), immunity to radiation and incredible endurance â killing them is pretty impossible. This may be a result of their mother getting blasted with a shitton of radiation and turning into a ghoul, while still pregnant.
Acolyte lives in Old Mormon Fort with Followers of the Apocalypse. They're not a member, though. Actually, the Followers hate them and vice versa. The only reason they're there is their unusual friendship with Arcade Gannon â at one point Arcade saved Acolyte's life (kind of â Acolyte would be fine, but they'd need a bit longer to recover) and they somehow bonded. Acolyte is extremely, and I mean, extremely protective over Arcade. Also, Arcade acts as a morality chain for Acolyte. Like, you know this "I have an idea" â "Murder is not an option" â "I have no idea" meme? This is basically them.
Other people Acolyte is genuinely fond of (and vice versa) are Raul Tejada and Beatrix Russell. In general, Acolyte gets on pretty well with ghouls. And with sex workers, mainly because of their past. (I won't elaborate on that rn, 'cause this is already getting too long, lol).
When it comes to appearance: Acolyte has dark skin, bright yellow eyes, shoulder-length pastel pink hair (yep, it's natural) and pierced lower lip â a vertical labret hoop to be precise. They're slim, have androgynous figure and always wear black, slutty clothes. They are also relatively tall, +/- Arcade's height. They appear to be taller, though, due to the fact they wear platform boots (yep, in the desert â that's how many fuck they give).
Other miscellaneous info: Acolyte's favourite weapon is a baseball bat, they like chewing gum and have a habit of calling everyone "babe", even strangers.

Hello, anon!!! Yussss, I'm married haha. Hell yeah I'll take a minute to brag about him đ Little fun story time post ahead!
Literally the funniest person I've ever met, and that's always been huge for me when I fell for somebody lol. If they could make me laugh? Whoo boy... I am smitten. â¤
We met while playing and drinking in VR Chat. It was during covid so all the bars were closed. I hopped on to check out the virtual bars and then I met him at one of those spin the wheel games at Drinking Night (VR Chat map).
I made a joke about it being like spin the bottle and I was down for kissing games. Then his little alien avatar walked in and was like "Kissing games?! Oh absolutely not."
I laughed, then was immediately embarrassed because I hate my laugh. But he proceeded to make me laugh even more throughout the night, and I tried to stay quiet because I thought I was coming off as annoying. (He later told me he loved my laugh and was trying to get it out of me.)
I decided to be a little bold and friend him. He didn't know how because it was his first time playing and his friend dragged him on. I think about how easily we could have missed each other. Not only did he barely agree to hop on VR Chat, but we had to be on at the same time and be in the same map.
As soon as I friended him and he figured out how to accept it, my game crashed. And I was so sad! I thought I wasn't ever going to talk to him again. For the hell of it, I hopped back on to find a new group. Then I saw he invited me back to the world he was on. I thanked him, and now that I was a little tipsier I started talking more.
He ditched his friend and just wanted to go wherever I went in VR Chat and we gave each other our socials. We were literally up all night and in completely different time zones, and we both had work in the morning đ¤˘. The next day, we helped each other stay up by messaging each other funny memes.
The following months, we'd message each other all day every day, then hop on VR Chat for little dates. It was so sweet haha, he'd find little worlds that looked like restaurants and we'd sit at a table and talk in our dumb as fuck avatars, it was such a blast.
I worked from home so he bought me tickets to come see him in person aaaaaaand I basically never left. Somewhere along the way we got hitched and now we game in the same room together lmfaooo.
Fun Fact: He sends Sebastian to Azkaban every time he finishes Hogwarts Legacy, can't imagine why đ¤Ł

I was listening to music thinking about why I find stuff written by Australian artists so refreshing (especially my real life 21st century merry thieves from my hometown aka 5sos if you're wondering) like is it just the cultural familiarity? But I realised what I was noticing was a distinct lack of something I'm not quite sure how to conceptualise. It's like, a desperate worship of a significant other that borders on (okay a lot of the time is outright) objectification, like I get the vibes of relying on this person or their body to solve everything for you from a lot of american especially songs (I find False God to be a great commentary on it actually and generally have no problems with taylor btw). It's like I want to vibe with a song, I really want to, but it kind of puts me on edge and gives vibes that aren't quite predatory but I also can't quite relax into, like even if it isn't sexual at all I feel like if I put myself in the position of the wrong person in the song, they want something from me. Especially cis straight male artists but like the genders can flip sometimes and occasionally a queer artist can emit the same ~vibe~ whereas with 5sos for example I can put myself into any position in any one of their songs and they do sing about some dark stuff, same goes for the sexier ones too, and feel utterly safe and understood and the vibes are like yeah it might suck now but somehow we'll get through and I don't need to change myself to get there, and somehow that vibe is so strong it can be manufactured into real life and I can just carry it around with me in the world. Even when I'm torn up and grieving and angry, it's safe to feel that with no expectations on how.
And (comparing to America now because that's the controlling patriarchy majority but also western entertainment majority from my pov) I've never been there but the things I hear about subtle sexism or just the entitlement rampant in the evangelical church (and if you know me I'll always wind my way back to manifesting an actually biblically canon following for Jesus preferably soon) and it's like Halloween spooky stories for the more sheltered of us (I am now aware it's most likely really subtle and I wouldn't notice it on first visit) but still. I've been unpacking pda-profile neurodivergent and control trauma for long enough now I know that need for control comes from an unmet need. So before I start ranting about sex ethics (because intimate means safe to me and imo that is Biblically Canon) I just want to say, are you okay, America?
And that when I'm feeling the need to be in control of someone else to feel whole inside I go and lower my demands and access some real kind connection because that is what my brain needs, not control over someone else! Not to mention make boundaries to free myself from feeling like someone else is constantly controlling me. And then because I'm a traumatised bitch and I probably won't feel whole inside anyway I go and blast some 5sos and remind myself things can get better and I'm safe to feel my emotions instead of pushing them down all the time, and if I want to I can make some tasteful joke or meme about it that resonates with someone and bam! I've laid the groundwork for connection! something that this brain desperately needs and is scientifically proven will make me feel better in the long run (provided it isn't the fake kind of connection that wants me to be something I'm not for its happy facade, and I'm genuinely concerned there are whole countries who don't understand this concept) anyway
did I mention I love aussie self-deprecating (but mature about it so we pace our spirals to be regular and interspersed with good parties and d&m's and growth and perspective and wanting to make things better) angst culture?

Anyway, so then I reached the 1k 'max' for booping others within like 3h after waking up xD and am a proud holder of the black booping paw badge!
After I had maxed out my received boops as well, I made a poll about which fandom I should make a meme for in thanks
(Ignore that @toboldlynerd's url half ended up on a poll option xD I don't even know whether that was my own dumbassery or a glitch, there were a lot of glitches going around on here yesterday but it might have also been me typing too quick not seeing which line I was on)
...after a very equal distribution with twilight in the lead, at first W13 was in the lead and I wrote a little fanfic soon after which I hit post limit *cries*
But I kept booping!
And because @lavendelhummel wrote a comment on Ao3 saying she'd love booping kudos, I made that as well :D only posted today of course bc postlimitttt
Also there's an Ao3 boop theme and discord boop reaction emojis (which I have instantly added to the servers I'm mod of xD), badge pngs and gifs :D
While on post limit I had a Lot of time on my hands going on tumblr web just booping instead of reblogging, and I figured out the super boop and even how to super boop myself on web
Though tumblr then complains about booping laundering xD
I tried to see whether there's another gimmick boop thing like the super boop but didn't work anything out - then this morning, I see this!

In the poll Good Omens, Star Trek and LotR were (and still are) in the lead but because of post limit I couldn't make anything immediately and my best trek idea (tribble boops) had already been made anyway o.o so instead today i made meme comp link lists for each fandom!
Yesterday I told myself I'd go to sleep after hitting the next boop stat, expecting that if I managed to max out at 1k in 3h or less I should make it to the next booping k that evening, but instead I got more boops quicker than I was booping!

Life has been been going well, and I find myself able to have conversations with my coworkers rather easy. One of the clerks is leaving to a position closer to home, so my clinics that I oversee have changed. It'll be something I'm familiar with, but looking forward to getting that sense of responsibility. My personal life is calm and stable for the most part, but the lack of having someone in your bed is definitely something I want back.
Life is calm and quiet, which is always how I want my life to be. I hung out with my old supervisor/coworker on Thursday and it was an absolute blast. We talked about life, and how we're both doing well overall. We used to watch the same client and that guy is beyond hope. I told my friend Tyler, that one day we'll both have that family and relationship we always wanted. It'll be happy for us, while the guy will be in his midlife with a multitude of problems and claiming he's ready to get his life together. But everyone knows it'll be too little, too late but screw him because it's his own doing.
It's always nice to be able to share things, how I want to say them without any filter. I'm seeing that my coworkers are pretty open about their lives and views. But I remember getting fired from my old job nearly 4 years ago. Because I shared a meme, and their partner was the one that decided to have me terminated. Either way, I got the laugh as that company is the middle of a bankruptcy. While I have a better job, with actual benefits and a means to do things that I want. While maintaining a surplus of money left over every month. For years, my bank account would either be barren. My credit cards were always or near maxed out, and my savings was little to nothing more than enough to keep myself afloat following a dinner at a basic restaurant.
Life is strange, one moment you're in way over your head and have no real means to save yourself. Your problems are too much for anyone to handle. Friends are non-existent, and are always occupied or busy with something else. On top of it, everything else in life feels like a losing compromise for you. I'm not sure what type of trial/tribulation I had to go through. But I'm happy to be where I am today. Especially, whenever you see people with years of a head start or better resources. Unable to escape the same fate that you had.
I'm looking forward to this spring, the weather will be beautiful. I'll be able fix myself to the previous physical condition I once was. Those antidepressants did help somewhat, but the weight gain was ridiculous. Thankfully, some of the weight has started coming off, but it'll take a lot more effort, to be who I want to be.
If you're curious about the gif, it's a reflection of my time as a soldier. I'm no longer able to serve my nation, as I'm medically retired for nearly 5 years now. But I still have my uniforms ready for any inspection.

hsjgdh u must be kinda new to tumblr!! ya there's no real rules to ask memes but generally, ask memes stick to a specific post. They tend to be art related but there's some great writing prompt ones out there. Reblogger will reblog the post with the list of prompts, typically with a tag or comment giving free reign to their followers, and people can send in prompts off of the ask meme.
GENERALLY the reblogger will answer whichever requests they want, but it's not guaranteed as the reblogger just does whichever of the prompts they feel like doing. you know. Personally, I'll keep asks in my inbox if they have prompts I'm interested in doing, save em for if I wanna do them later sometimes. If I don't get the inspiration to use them I'll delete them right off the bat, or delete them like, several weeks later when I'm bored of the ask meme and/or just feel guilty that i never did them and then have to delete them to remind myself that this is all for fun and I can't hold myself responsible for churning out content 24/7 because I'm not a machine

"It's just a scratch. Probably." Karai grumbled, ducking down below cover as Donatello rushed over.
"Last time I heard you say that, you ended up losing an arm!" Donnie scolded. He lifted her arms out of the way so he could get a better look at the giant mess on her side.
Kraang laserfire continued to ricochet around them. The other three turtles were providing them safe cover. She hated fighting Kraang. Their stupid guns were actually capable of hurting her more than most human weapons. She hated it.
"In my defense, that was just a scratch." Karai kept an eye on their surroundings while Donnie took a wipe to her side, clearing the soot away so he could see any damage.
"That was a very bad scratch that resulted in you losing an arm." Donnie deadpanned. "And this? This is also not just a scratch." He hissed sympathetically as there was a distinctively large patch of damaged stone underneath the soot. "That one got you really close- it actually cracked up some chunks of stone, here."
Fortunately, he'd gotten more used to her pain tolerance and her lack of... pain response in general. Karai could barely feel this. It was akin to a sore spot. A very sore spot that stung when he kept pressing on it.
"Ah shit." Karai frowned. "They must be upgrading their guns, the old ones did more bruising than anything."
Donnie hummed in agreement as he grabbed a brush and began going over the wound to make sure there was no blood leaking. If Karai was bleeding, it meant the lasers had managed to actually break through her thick layers of stone and they would need to be very careful. If something actually managed to hurt Karai, it would hurt the turtles a lot worse.
Karai hissed unhappily at the bizarre feeling. She snarled and threw a knife at a Kraang that glanced their way.
"No blood." Donnie reported. "I think we can leave it for now and seal it up when we get back to the Lair."
"Great." Karai leapt up without a pause, blades drawn. "I've got a bone to pick with the asshole who got me."
"Is PR okay?" Leo shouted as the changeling became a blur on the battlefield.
"She's good!" Donnie shot him a thumbs up and yelped, dodging a laser blast. "We need to be more careful, they're upgrading their weapons!"
They all hissed sympathetically at the sound of crunching metal as Karai demolished a particular Kraang droid. The poor Kraang piloting it screamed and tried to sprint away on its own tentacles. Donnie made sure not to watch the resulting massacre. Raph let out a whoop.
When Karai had a grudge, she did not hesitate.

Can we all stop condescending to our SO's on the internet? Like, I see it mainly in hetero spaces where the narrative has switched (rightfully) from men making fun of and talking down to their female partners to women doing the exact same thing. The basic formula is exemplified by the "Why I know he won't cheat" meme. It follows a pattern of "Oh my dumb little nerd boy won't cheat, look at him with his stupid little nerd shit!" And that just...feels mean as hell to me.
I mean obviously there is playful ribbing in relationships and I'm also not discounting the complexities of various flavors of kink. I'm kinky as hell and I don't need to go into detail, but I don't ACTUALLY infantilize my partner. When it comes time to be a real adult person all the kink drops away. And I don't really think the meme I mentioned above is necessarily kink related, but I wanted to address that side of it as well just to cover all bases.
There were times early in the relationship where I had to have certain unconscious condescending behaviors pointed out to me because I did it without meaning to. That was part of me deconstructing my own internalized misogyny/smart kid syndrome/only child syndrome. But that was a part of me growing up. In order to move into a mature, adult relationship I had to truly and actively view my partner as an equal and eliminate thoughts and behaviors of mine that came from society rather than love and respect. And she had to do similar things with regards to me. Once we got rid of all that societal shit, we were free to just love each other as people instead of societal caricatures/external manifestations of each other's anxiety.
So all this circles back around to why I just don't understand how there can be a whole genre of humor based around infantilizing our SOs. If I didn't love her I wouldn't spend all my time with her. I wouldn't travel with her. I wouldn't own a house with her. I don't begrudge her her interests and she doesn't begrudge me mine. Both of us would feel incredibly betrayed and violated if the other one went and, even playfully, bitched about the other on social media.
This kind of performative relationship just seems so unhealthy to me. It makes me sound almost conservative (Though conservatives are the worst about putting their relationships on blast) but relationships should mostly be a private thing that you navigate with your partner(s). Social media has already wormed its way into all of our lives enough. Can we keep it out of what is supposed to be one of the great intimate pleasures of life?

Another shows your tumblr dashboard
And of course
One is playing caramelldansen at max volume
You turn the volume down and turn to Heisenberg, who is a little bit overwhelmed
And youâre like
âDo you wanna sit?â
And he doesnât really have a choice, he needs to sit down
Thereâs just
So much electricity in the air

Literally speaks to him
Itâs a lot to take in
And you realize heâs kind of spacing out, so you start turning off screens
Some of them, not all of them
And you change one of your spotify playlists to something less loud and more relaxed

Push him onto your couch
Because he wasnât going to move himself, he was to busy staring at the twilight screen with a distrubed look on his face

You wander into the kitchen and you go, âYeah. Hot vampires if the internet is to be believed.â
And heisenberg is suddenly very glad that heâs sitting
Then he hears your voice from the kitchen

He hears something weird and wooshy, and he has no fucking clue what you just did
You opened the fridge. Thatâs what you did.
He hears your voice again
âWe have water, milk, juice, spiders, Dr. Pepper, whiskey-â
âSpiders!?â
You pop your head out from the kitchen and youâre like
âHoly shit, you fell for it. Quickly, we also have updog-â
âI- whiskey is fine.â
You pout a little, because he did not fall for updog, but you go into the kitchen and you get the man some whiskey
When you re-enter the room you left heisenberg in, heâs still a little shook
The drink helps, tho
And once heâs downed that and his nerves have settled, heâs calm enough to ask you what the fuck is going on

Delights you
Basically, you shoot into a three hour long rant about every piece of technology you own
Fifteen minutes in you whip out a power point presentation and throw heisenberg a pen and a pad of paper
You do not fail to notice how he levitates your metal pen for a minute before actually taking it and writing notes
The whole time youâre talking, he wonders how he can incorporate this new technology into his army
And when you look over at his notes
You notice that
And you go
âHey, why do you need an army? Is it for a good cause, or are you just a dick? Because if youâre just a dick, I wonât help you, but if you have a good reason, Iâm always down for a little weapons engineering. Iâm also always down for arson and tax evasion.â

You whip out another pad of paper and start scribbling madly

And your third idea is to switch the factory from whatever itâs running on now (presumably coal) to hydropower, which is what your house runs on
While you write out your ideas, heisenberg is watching you

Heisenberg learns, that day, that he enjoys classic rock, metal, and caramell fucking dansen
