#I just watched the episode where he finds out Bellamy beat and robbed Cricket while they were gone #and Luffy and Zoro turn to each other and immediately nonverbally communicate #ok Luffy is gonna go beat the shit out of that guy and Zoro is going to stay here #I love that Luffy will do anything for people who have been good to him and I love that often the only thing he can do for them is #beat the snot out of the people who hurt his friends #now granted. often beating the snot out of people leads to other results #(like how beating Bellamy got his crew to give Luffy the gold artifacts back)#(or how most fights Luffy enters is with the goal of getting someone to STOP hurting people)#but I just find it endearing that he’s very. when you have a hammer (Devil Fruit) everything looks like a nail (hurting people)

I've been left unattended to place the pick-up order for Home Depot tomorrow in anticipation of the bathtub getting replaced. Things like thinset and a few other things we need to replace the tile surround, but didn't have the space to store until we actually started ripping the bathroom apart.

Anyway. I just found out that our local Home Depot sells glitter grout.

a lot of people talk about love don’t roam being about rose which, sure, obviously, the first time i heard it in the runaway bride and recognised the lyrics i cried, but what people don’t mention nearly often enough is that my angel put the devil in me is more than just a gag tune for tallulah’s showgirls to perform at the cabaret. it’s a song from the perspective of martha.

that’s essentially the plot of smith&jones. the little streetcar is the tardis

referring to the fact that ten kept promising martha ‘one last trip’ before he dropped her off. then another, and another. hey, it don’t have to be eternally, because he’s not the kind of guy to stick around…

davros’ admonishment in journey’s end: the doctor may be a pacifist who never carries a weapon, but he turns everybody around him into soldiers. martha’s no exception; she holds the osterhagen key. ten may be her guardian angel, but her traumatic experiences while travelling with him harden her spirit, and by s4 she’s working for UNIT. she was an ordinary medical student and he put the ‘devil’ of adventure in her, just like any other companion

now this one’s pretty self-evident. cold grey eyes and a simple smile. guile and charm and mystery. whisked her away like a witch on a broomstick. one and one and one: three hearts between the two of them. or maybe ‘three’ is martha, the doctor and the tardis. or — worse — martha, the doctor and rose.

the fact that the song is playing during this scene in the end of time also casts its meaning in a different light: jack has been radically transformed through meeting the doctor just like martha was. from a conman and a coward to an unlikely hero. jack shoulders the burden too. so many lives upended because of this bad bad angel. don’t make crowley jokes

The Wish Standard

To prevent the Archdevil Lord Mammon from causing too much inflation by buying souls for money, he is contractually obligated to exchange one million gold coins for a wish at any time.

While this system works fine to keep inflation in check and is rarely made use off (getting 1 million gold coins in cash is very difficult even for those whose net worth is far higher) it does make Mammon's continued existence fundamental to the order of the multiverse because if he died, not only would no one have the legal authority to mint coins for a while, all already existing coins would no longer be backed in their value.
